i have not even seen this movie

Couple Goals

I have flown on many long flights with my husband. We constantly watch tv and movies together at home, but on flights we always both bring our own laptops and entertain ourselves, chatting occasionally.

Never. ever. ever. have we shared a laptop between us to watch a movie together on a plane.

In fact, I fly often, and I have never. ever. ever. seen any other couple do this either.

And yet apparently Dan and Phil do this every time they fly. They’ve mentioned it multiple times. When they fly, they watch movies together, instead of entertaining themselves separately. On long flights, they watch multiple movies together. They can’t even cease the intensity of their togetherness for the length of a flight.

How do they even balance the laptop on the tray tables so they can both see it? And do they each get one earbud?

I can understand watching movies and tv together constantly when you’re at home and can’t tear yourselves away from each other, but apparently Dan and Phil invented watching movies together on planes.

Can you do a drarry fic where Draco wants to hang out with Harry but Harry's sad so he pulls at Harry to get him off of the bed, but when he attempted he accidentally tickled him. He hadn't known that Harry was ticklish so, naturally, he decides to exploit this new found information to make Harry happy, but Harry soon turns the tables on him and reduces him to a giggly mess.

Oh lord what can of worms have I opened XD I don’t write for Harry Potter! I haven’t read the books in years and I haven’t even seen the movies in years. I don’t have enough of the information about the universe to continue to write about the series.

SOOOOoooo…….. here’s a drabble…..

Early mornings, a weekend, perfect for the cunning Draco Malfoy to strike. He had snuck into the Gryffindor common room the previous night and had slept over on the sofa. But now that he was awake, he wanted Harry to be awake, too.

Upon entering the bedroom where all the students slept, he looked around at mostly empty bunks since a lot of the wizards were out catching breakfast in the hall. It was almost noon, after all, and Harry should be up already.

Draco slunk in and out of the rows of bunk beds until he found Harry’s bottom bunk. He smiled softly and brushed his fingers through Harry’s tangle of hair. Then without warning, he ripped the covers from Harry’s sleeping body, giggling to himself, “Wakey wakey, Potter.”

Harry groaned and he squirmed around on his bed, trying to shield himself with the warmth he was no longer provided with, “You’re a git, Malfoy…” he grumbled in a raspy early morning voice.

Malfoy loomed over Harry with a snide grin and he was soon yanking at Harry’s limbs to get him out of bed, “Cohome on, we can’t make out or something? You’re wasting the day.”

“Shut up and let go,” Harry fought back, not letting Malfoy drag him off the bed.

“You’re no fun, Potter,” Draco huffed like a spoiled brat, which…. come to think of it was not false. He jabbed some frustrated fingers into Harry’s side, which was bare since the Boy Who Lived slept without a shirt. Harry gasped and he let out a sharp laugh, pulling his hand to his side.

Draco quirked a brow and his grin grew into an almost feral one. He climbed onto the bed with Harry, “Nohoo… the great Harry Potter’s ticklish?”

“Buzz off,” Harry curled his knees into his chest, eyeing the other boy carefully.

Draco giggled with glee before launching a tickle attack on Harry’s poor torso. Harry didn’t last long before he erupted into giggles, squirming and fighting against the tickles with all his power.

“Drahahahahaco! Ah! Stohohoppit! Nohoho!”

“Sorry, Potter, can’t understand you through all that laughter,” Draco smirked and he bent down, unashamedly blowing a raspberry into the taught stomach.

Harry tossed his head back after a squeal and dissolved into unrestrained laughter. Draco did slow his fingers after that raspberry, however, giving Harry time to breathe. But this was a mistake on his part because the moment he caught his breath, Harry was worming fingers into the blonde’s belly.

“Thihis is for waking me up!” Harry giggled and he got Draco laughing just as hard as he was.

Some other wizards still in their beds were woken by this disturbance and grumbled and even yelled in some cases at the offenders. But neither Harry nor Draco paid much attention to them, having too much fun on their own.

If I see Sonic Boom being called a “reboot” of the Sonic franchise, when it’s just an alternate universe completely separate from the main games, one more time…

This goes back to what I said about how I wish people would actually know what a “reboot” actually is before saying something is. You don’t have to like the Sonic Boom sub-franchise, but please actually know what the term means. Not every new thing that you don’t like, that happens to be based off of a pre-existing property, is a reboot! Please stop it.

Hell, this doesn’t even apply to Sonic Boom. I’ve seen people throwing that term around for allot of new movies or TV shows that have been coming out lately. The live-action remakes that Disney has been pumping out is a good example.

Reasons why the Batman Lego Movie is arguably one of the best movies of 2017

  • Batman blankly says the lines of “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson and claims it as his own quote.
  • Uses every opportunity to call Robin “Master Dick” and still manages to keep a U rating
  • Patrick Stump writes and performs a heavy metal song both praising Batman and outing him for tax evasion
  • Proceeds to make 3 Suicide Squad jokes/references with 2 of them calling it stupid, then proceeds to use it’s plot for twenty minutes
  • Kite Man is there
  • The Bat Family bond by blowing up the Eye of Sauron
  • Voldemort, the Wicked Witch, Daleks, Jaws, the Gremlins and the raptors from Jurassic Park are all there for some reason and it’s never explained
  • The Justice League throw a party without Batman and he gets sad
  • “you’ve been union jacked”
  • Mentions Iron Man to remind you that Lego also has the rights to them
  • Puts in loads of pop songs to remind you that Lego bought the rights to them too
  • Actually makes a reference to Dick Grayson being able to speak Romanian
  • Has a genuinely amazing soundtrack
  • Is great and honestly if  I had the money I’d have already seen it 5 more times

Everyone, PLEASE go support the new Power Rangers movie.

I know basically nothing about the franchise, I was never a fan as a kid, I get it if you’re like ‘idk what even’ about the movie.

I haven’t even seen the movie yet.

But out of the 5 main characters, 4 are non-white, and of those, 1 is an openly queer Latina, and 1 is black and autistic.

Words can’t express how huge this is.

Not only is this the first openly queer superhero in a blockbuster movie, she is also Latina.

It’s also, the first autistic superhero in a blockbuster movie.

It’s one of the first times I have ever seen a canonically autistic protagonist in a major piece of media, ever, in a narrative that isn’t just about them Suffering About Being Autistic™.

It’s the second black autistic character I’ve ever seen in any form of media, ever, either, and that is incredibly significant. It’s looking like it will be fairly positive representation, which is so important, given the issues that black autistic people face. (More likely to be underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed, more likely to be the victims of police violence and persecution, etc.)

If it doesn’t do well, the diversity of the film will get blamed by Hollywood, rather than any of the individual creative merits of the film itself.

But if this movie succeeds, it could be genuinely groundbreaking, in terms of what is considered viable in terms of casting and representation in major blockbuster movies.

If you want more POC heroes, more queer heroes, more disabled heroes, in your media?

Please, please, go see this movie.

Reasons to watch the LEGO Batman Movie
  • It’s so meta. Batman narrates through the opening logos and they show clips from the other adaptations of Batman and talk about how Joker and Batman have been fighting for 78 years. My personal favorite is when Alfred calls Batman out for all the Brooding™ he’s done since 1966.
  • It’s freaking hilarious. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the funniest movie I’ve seen in years. The jokes always hit the mark and even just how the characters act are enough to get huge laughs.
  • The characters. Batman is of course amazing but there’s also Robin who’s a literal ray of sunshine, Alfred who is the coolest butler ever and so much more, one of the best adaptations of Joker, and Barbara Gordon who is such a competent leader and fighter and so amazing in general.
  • Batman’s and Joker’s relationship. Having Joker portrayed as wanting validation from Batman that he is his greatest enemy but Batman not reciprocating those feelings creates one of the funniest, most amazing hero-villian dynamics ever to be put to film.
  • It’s actually emotional. Amongst all the hilarity and action scenes the movie does take time to address the concepts of loneliness, confronting one’s fears, if you are really a good person or not (or if you’re in between), and the nature of family. It gives so much depth to Batman that is hardly seen in other adaptations and that’s what makes it so great.

Ok but I’ve been binge watching the Narnia movies again, after not having seen them for a long ass time, and now, being a little older and (hopefully) a little more mature than I was when I first saw them, I always feel physically sick when I see the Pevensies being children after The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe because they just aren’t anymore and I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like, to grow up as kings and queens, respected and important, and full of duty, only to go back to being 8 years old (in Lucy’s case).

They didn’t remember England, or the wardrobe, or their old lives, they were Narnians and they were pushed back, not only into a world that was bound to make them miserable, but also into bodies that couldn’t reflect what they’d been through.

Just imagine Peter, waking up in the morning, not remembering that he isn’t the Magnificent anymore, imagine him subconsciously reaching for something to trim his beard, only to remember that it isn’t there anymore, to expect old battle wounds to hurt until he realises that they can’t because he doesn’t have them.

Or Edmund, who left England a stubborn selfish little boy who only wanted his mummy back, and came back the Just, the redeemed traitor, the diplomat, the man, having to resort to being ten years old and probably not even allowed to peek at a newspaper because he’s just a child after all. He plays chess, incredibly well, he doesn’t mock his siblings anymore and all the friends he knew when he was still a boy are either irritated at his behaviour or too childish, too selfish for somebody who knows very well just what selfishness can do, who has a part of the White Witch in him, always.

Susan forgets, we all know that. She must’ve lain awake at night, remembering just what it felt like to cover pain and viciousness and gore with a smile and a blush, remembering being the Gentle, but never in war. She must’ve cried for all the lost years, for all that she learnt and that she can never forget, for all that she has accomplished, that will bring her nothing in this world that doesn’t feel like hers. So she sits down in front of a mirror, talks herself out of believing, telling herself that it wasn’t real, that it was just a dream, that this Narnia her siblings talk about is nothing but a game.
The truth is too terrifying, to devastating to face.

Lucy, little Lucy, who grew up under Mr Tumnus’ smiles and Aslan’s approving gaze, who was loved by all, who did learn how to rule, how to negotiate but who never forgot just what it means to be a queen of Narnia, this girl who matured into a woman, who had a woman’s mind and body and a queen’s grace, she who they called the Valiant, the lion’s daughter, she shrank into herself, into a child, younger than even her siblings. She remembers, clearest of them all, she is the only one who still knows Mr Tumnus’ face, still knows Aslan, but she is just a girl, a pretty little thing who will never be the queen she was, who will never be the woman she was because queenship forms a person in ways no schools can.

They must’ve been devastated when they tumbled to the floor, short and small, and there’s a war they have no control over and Lucy is small, Edmund is skinny, so skinny and Peter and Susan have lost their glow and they’ve changed, they’ve changed so much. (The first time, somebody calls them by just their names, they feel invalidated and small. And offended. They’re kings and queens, they’ve earned their titles and now they have to sit in a dim room filled with children and listen to teachers, have to allow themselves to be insignificant and nothing more than what they were when Lucy first stepped into Narnia - frightened children in the middle of a war they wish was never there in the first place)

MARK ZUCKERBERG

I think it’s safe to assume that most of the team hasn’t seen snow?? Like:

  • Lance is Cuban
  • Keith most likely grew up in Texas/the south
  • Hunk is Samoan and he also just. Doesn’t dress for the cold lmao.
  • Altea didn’t even have rain, I doubt they had snow, so Coran and Allura are out.

Pidge and Shiro are the only ones who potentially could have grown up with snow lmao

THE POWER RANGERS MOVIE WAS WEIRD AND CHEESY BUT IT HAD SOME OF THE BEST AUTISTIC REPRESENTATION I HAVE EVER SEEN IN ANY MEDIA ANYWHERE IN MY LIFE AND I AM REALLY HAPPY RIGHT NOW ABOUT THIS

BILLY CRANSTON IS SO IMPORTANT AND HE MEANS SO MUCH TO ME AND I AM SO HAPPY HE EXISTS

HE IS AUTISTIC AND HE IS A HERO AND HE IS THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE ENTIRE FILM

AND HE STIMS LIKE ME AND HE TALKED THE WAY I TALK SOMETIMES AND HE FELT SO REAL AND SO IMPORTANT

I HONESTLY BARELY EVEN DREAMED OF GETTING THIS

Yall need to stop boycotting Spilt

Okay, I usually don’t come on here with my own opinions but I feel the need to speak up. And fuck all yall haters.

Split is the most mental illness empowering movie I have ever seen.

M. Night Shaymalan used great care in handling both illnesses displayed (DID & PTSD) throughout the film. James McAvoy’s performance is well portrayed, chilling, and beautiful. I never felt like his character was a bad person. What I saw was a good man struggling with an illness in his brain and trying to live in a world that broke and triggered him constantly.

The movie itself is, at times, hard to watch but that is expected for a Shaymalan film. In true Shaymalan fashion, this movie is filmed in an artistic way that forces you to face some hard truths without actually having to shove it in your face.

I honestly feel that every person with any kind of mental illness needs to see this movie. I personally walked out of the movie last night feeling empowered and even more accepting of myself because for once the characters with mental illness had the upper hand in both bad and good ways and I had witnessed a movie that not only understood how things can be for a mentally ill person but was able to display both the up and down sides of the illness.

And to top it all off there is a surprise at the end that completely turns the film on it’s head and even changes the world that you believe the film is in.

So basically what I am trying to say is don’t bash this movie until you have seen it. Go see it and if you still feel like it displays mental illness poorly then hate on it all you want.

I, however, want to thank Mr. Shaymalan and his cast and crew for a tense, beautiful, well researched and well put together peice of cinema. This is what movies were meant to be. Thank you for all of your hard work.

you know, i went into that movie thinking it was gonna be playing down the autistic character so much and i’d just have to be grateful for bare-bones representation (which i actually would have been because it’s so rare to have a confirmed autistic character and we all take what we can get) but nah this movie went above and beyond for its autistic character and i still can’t get over it

from his very first scene people (jason) fiercely defend billy’s right to be himself

billy gets to misinterpret social cues and be awkward and info dump and react negatively to physical contact and stim without anyone pressuring him to explain himself or mask his behavior or change at all

and when he does choose to explain himself, we are blessed because he actually uses the words “on the spectrum” and i don’t even need to explain how rare it is to have that in a movie, especially in a huge movie like power rangers

and it didn’t stop with them writing him respectfully and accurately as an autistic person, they went a step further and celebrated him as a character in such a beautiful way by making him the heart of the movie

this movie didn’t just feel like an instance of “you can sit at our table”, it really felt like it was made FOR autistic people

that’s not something i’ve ever seen before and it honestly brings tears to my eyes

As you can see, it’s gonna be about this cast for a minute y'all. My obsession hasn’t died yet😭 As hard as it was I ranked them in order. I love them all tho😻

1. Woody McClain
He’s so fine, funny, and humble. Like I’m really in love with him y'all. I’m mentally married to him and everything.💍😭

2. Keith Powers
He’s such a cutie😍 and he’s so laidback and chill. It’s so funny when he jokes the other members of the cast😂

3. Luke James
His voice💞 his confidence, his coolness. He dresses very nice too. His whole vibe just sends out black excellence.

4. Bryshere Gray
I’ve had a crush on this guy since the first season of Empire😩 I love the way he acts, he’s amazing. His smile is so beautiful💕

5. Algee Smith
It was so hard to figure out whether I should put him before or after Bryshere 😭but Algee is so cute💞 he has those bedroom eyes.I loved him as Ralph and I really wanna see more from him. He’s so positive and that’s what makes him even more attractive.

6. Elijah Kelley
I love his energy 💖omg. It’s so cute when he gets worked up and excited about something. Also have y'all seen this man’s outfits lately? His fashion sense is A1. And we cannot forget about the fact he’s fine dark chocolate🍫

Once again this was very hard for me😭 Let’s see if y'all can do it. Who’s your favorite? 👀

Anyways since I’m still upset about Tiana how about the fact that she’s the only Disney Princess since Aurora to literally only have one animated feature centered on her? Besides a 3-5 minute cameo on Sofia The First, Tiana has not been seen in any other animation (or live action for that matter).

Aurora had a straight-to-video short

Cinderella and Belle had multiple tv/straight-to-video movies

Ariel and Jasmine both had multiple movies and TV series based on their movies

Mulan and Pocahontas both got (admittedly bad) animated sequels

Rapunzel had an animated short and is getting a tv series, and I don’t even have to mention Anna and Elsa’s copious media.

They literally??? Could have addressed all the issues they had with the first movie (displaying their leads of color as frogs ¾ths of the movie, Tiana having to work during the entire thing, her hair never being out, etc) with a short, tv movie, or a series

Explain that.

First, I’d like to welcome all the new Batjokes shippers that came from watching the Lego Batman movie. :) If you’re into the fluffy cute side of this normally twisted ship and would like more cute content like you saw in the lego verison, I think the Batjokes in Batman: The Brave and the Bold might be appealing to you as well! :) They even team up in one episode, it’s fantastic. Here’s a clip of it on YT:

Now I’d like to move onto a topic I think is important to be discussed with all these new shippers arriving: if you only like the fluffy cute version of this ship, that’s fine! I understand that a lot of you are not a fan of Joker in most versions (mostly because of how awful he is to Harley) and I completely respect that. You ship what you want to ship!

But I would just like to politely ask you to treat us (a.k.a. people who ship Batjokes in all kinds of versions) with the same respect. I’ve been shipping Batjokes since 2011 and through the years I’ve gotten a lot of hate for shipping it because well … it’s a dark twisted ship (some user even talked shit about me & the ship on their blog after they found out I was shipping it).

But the darkness of it is also appealing to me and part of the reason I ship it so much. I adore villains (not in a romanticised way – I fully acknowledge they’re awful people) and I loveee exploring complex, fucked up relationships in fiction.

And I’ve already seen people saying that anyone who ships Batjokes outside the Lego verse is problematic and bad. And that makes me really sad. Where do you think that the creators of the Lego movie got their inspiration for the Batjokes we got in it? Batman and Joker have a long history of homoerotic subtext. Some creators even flat out admitted that Joker is in love with Batman. You have to remember that there would be no amazingly adorable Lego Batjokes without its previous versions and their long history.

We’re not bad people for liking Batjokes outside of the Lego version. Everyone knows that a relationship like this is a big no in real life and shouldn’t be supported outside of fiction. Or Joker himself for that matter – he’s a fun entertaining villain but obviously no sane person supports someone like that in real life.

Anyway to conclude this little post, ship what you want to ship and respect each other. Older Batjokes fans: don’t try to force all other versions of the ship on the new shippers or call them “fake fans” (not that I’ve seen anyone do that btw - I’m saying it just in case because I’ve seen other fandoms do it with different stuff) if they only like the Lego version. And new shippers: please don’t post condescending hateful posts in the tag / send us hate for liking this ship in other versions. Let’s all share this tag with love and respect.

That’s all. Thanks for reading!

Rogue One Spoilers

BTW I saw Rogue One today and while

a) This is not my fandom
b) I was expecting Space Ocean’s Eleven not Space D-Day At Normandy holy fuck
c) I am so ignorant of Star Wars that I once thought an origami Star Wars Spaceship was a poorly-executed origami flower

nevertheless

a) Pretty great movie
b) K2-SOF MY HEART
c) Even though I was expecting it I still almost cried when CGI Baby Carrie Fisher showed up

Also, I told my parents before the movie “This is a movie that is so political Disney had to make a statement that it wasn’t political” and after the movie my mum said “I have literally with my own eyes seen live anti-nuke protests in the sixties that were less political than that movie.”

PS WOW Darth Vader’s outfit does not age well huh? I feel like the grainy quality of the original films hid a multitude of costuming sins on that one, holy textured trousers Batman.
