i have no idea why i created this

finemus  asked:

Hello! ^w^ I'm writing a superhero book and the villain is the sister of the hero. I'm having a hard time figuring out why though (they live together, and they both doesn't have a clue about it till later). Also, I can't quite figure out how my hero gets her powers (it's a serum meant for good but got stolen). Any ideas?

Hi :)

Why one sister is a villain:
• The villian one is being manipulated/lied to, and thinks they are on the right side.
• The villain is just a genuinely bad person. No moral code or anything to hold them back.
• The villain was forced into their position through blackmail that someone would hurt their sister (oh, the irony)

^ It’s all about why the villain is a villain because I figured that there doesn’t need to be much incentive to be a hero.

How to get powers:
• Hero was a a druggie and was told that the serum was their fix.
• Hero is terribly ill, so they get the serum from the black market in a last ditch effort.
• The person who was in possesion of the serum was curious about its effects and slips some into the hero’s drink/food.
• Some kind of mix up

This was harder than I thought. Any of my followers have ideas?

Unpopular opinion

The canon Naruto universe sucks.

Why?
-unhealthy depiction of female characters
-unhealthy depiction of relationships
-shitty idea of what a ninja is (is like anyone in that show fucking subtle? Hint: the answer is no)
-missed opportunities to talk about serious issues
-stupid weird plot at the end
-poor use of characters
-over powered bs
-unrealistic characters
-Jesus I could go on for pages with specifics but I think im most upset with the missed opportunity for greatness

Pros
-it created an awesome premise that wonderful people in the fandom have expanded off of in the most amazing aus and fan art

Happy birthday Zen!
Here’s my April Fools’ prank. I promised something spicy but you get fluff instead. I hope you’re not making a sad face. I’m smiling (:

I decided to become an artist when I was about your age. I liked to draw so much, I almost hated to go to bed. And then one day, all of a sudden, I couldn’t draw anything. Everything I drew, I didn’t like. I realized that my art up to then was a copy of someone else, things I had seen somewhere. I decided I had to discover my own style. It’s still difficult. But then, the results… They seem to be a little better than before. It’s nice to be a witch, isn’t it? I like the idea - to be a witch, to be an artist, to be a baker… It’s an energy bestowed by the gods or someone, right? Though thanks to it, we do have to suffer at times.

Circle Casting 101

Whether you’re practising Wicca, secular witchcraft or any other type of path, circle casting is often a process that many deem vital information.

Why cast a circle? Circles can be cast for a number of reasons.

  • Linking together the energy of a group of people for a specific purpose
  • Creating a sacred space for deity worship and ritual
  • Making a safe space where no malevolent energy can pass through
  • Drawing, containing and banishing the energy of something unsavory
  • Amplifying and focusing your own energy

Do I have to?

Nope. I think this is one of the biggest misconceptions about circles. There’s a lot of reasons why it is a good idea, but it’s down to personal preference. Some people don’t like the formality of it.

What is the right way to cast a circle?

Bluntly put, there is no right way. There are multiple different ways you can create a circle and I will list a few of them here, but it is really up to you.

Why does it matter which way I move around? (Clockwise and Counterclockwise)

It’s a generic and popular belief that clockwise motion is about creation, working towards something, manifestation and positivity. Counterclockwise is considered the action of unmaking things, deconstructing them and sometimes negative energy. As with anything, it’s down to your personal preference.

Preparation

Cleanse yourself. Pre ritual bath, smoke cleanse or any other method. If you’re casting a circle, you don’t want any lingering energy on your person interfering. This also gets you in the mood to do magical workings. You can use oils and herbs that relate to the intentions of what you are about to do, if you would like to. You might want to spend a few minutes in meditation afterwards and then ground and centre yourself if you feel like it would help.

Gather your tools. Depending on the method you are going with, these will be different. Essentially everything you need while you will be doing your working. Most people believe that stepping outside of your circle when it has been cast will break it.  You don’t want to be in the middle of casting a circle and realise you’ve left your lighter on the other side of it. This is also a good time to go over your game plan. Double check your notes and run through the circle process in your mind to see if you are forgetting anything.

Cleanse the area. Again, for the same reasons you cleanse yourself. I find it best to walk around where the perimeter of the circle will be when I cast it. You’ll typically want to do this right before you start the actual casting, and can say a small poem or dedication while doing it if you would like to.

Evolution of an angry feminist

1) I am 5 years old.  Innocent.  Mostly happy.  When I think of my future, I imagine myself becoming a ballerina or an astronaut.  Maybe a dinosaur.

2) I am 7 years old.  I’ve started a “gang” on the playground.  We pretend to be cowboys and cowgirls and go on adventures.  I get in trouble (for getting my clothes dirty, for enjoying violent fantasies, for talking trash to other 2nd graders) and am told to stop.  My friends who are boys continue playing the game that I started and no one seems to care.

3) I am 9 years old and have just been admitted to the Gifted Program at my school.  I am the only girl in there.  The other students bully me.  I end up having to change schools only a semester later.

4) I am 11 years old and eating an ice cream sandwich at a table alone in the cafeteria.  The next table over, the boys are watching me and laughing and yelling every time I take a lick; I have no idea why, so I try to ignore them.  One of the boys comes up to me and says “Brian really wishes he were an ice cream sandwich!” Flaming cheeks and tears in my eyes, I run away. I feel shame without even understanding why.

5) I am 13 years old.  I make an account for Go-Gaia.com, a fun looking cartoony website.  Within minutes of creating a female avatar, I am privately messaged by someone asking me for cybersex.

6) I am 15 years old.  I go to the eye doctor because my vision keeps getting worse and worse.  Making conversation, I ask my doctor how people like me could have possibly survived in ancient times.  He cheerfully tells me I would probably have been a scholar rather than a hunter.  I get angry at him because I feel like he is patronizing me; we both know my options would pretty much be limited to housewife and mother.  Not til years later do I learn about all the women in history who have been scholars, artists, soldiers, rulers…

7) I am 17 years old.  I tell people “I’m not like other girls”.  I hate the color pink.  Despite having such low opinions about other girls, my opinions about boys aren’t much better; I’m honestly surprised when my first boyfriend doesn’t try to rape me.

8) I am 19 years old.  I haven’t picked a major yet.  When I tell my grandpa I’m thinking of Psychology, he chides me because it’s “not a real science”.

9) I am 21 years old.  I get married to the love of my life.  I am fully aware of how many people are judging us because he’s not the main provider in our relationship.

10) I am 23 years old.  I go to the gaming store to buy myself new dice.  A man starts trying to explain roleplaying games to me.  I tell him I’ve been playing since I was 12.  He isn’t even listening to me.  He keeps trying to hit on me; I casually mention that I have a husband.  He either doesn’t notice or doesn’t care.  Finally, I just walk away.  As I’m leaving the store, I hear him calling me a bitch.

11) I am 25 years old.  One of my closest guy friends tells me he doesn’t believe there is sexism anymore (at least not in the USA).  I ask him about the wage gap, about relative rates of sexual assault/rape, about GamerGate, about the Hobby Lobby case, about the under representation in STEM fields, popular culture and government.  He denies none of it, but concludes “I just don’t understand how those are considered big problems”

12) I am 27 years old.  I post about gaming online.  Sometimes I post about sexism.  Inevitably, men get upset.  I no longer care when their feelings are hurt when I talk about it.  I wish I was a dinosaur.  So I could step on them.

I don’t know who thought picking a fight with these two was a good idea, but seeing as Papyrus was involved, they’re probably locked in a shed right now thinking about what they’ve done

he’s just angry because they broke his battle body

I started drawing this hoping to answer questions like “what does Undyne look like with her hair down” and “how adorably scrawny is Paps really under that armor, being nothing but bones and all”, but I think I created more questions than I answered

how much magic does a monster have to use before they need to be patched up manually instead of healing themselves with magic

why does a skeleton get bruises and why are they orange

how do bruises even work re: magic beings who have no blood

how does Undyne pull off being beautiful and perfect always

where is the fine line between taking artistic liberties with a fictional race that just so happen to look like human skeletons, and just giving biology the finger, and additionally, will local biologists let me live to see another day in case it has been crossed

we just don’t know

Yuri on Ice BD choreography commentary translation - Volume 3

I’m alive… There were too many things this month, I can’t believe we’re already halfway through. Anyway, finally, here’s the full translation of the choreography commentary from the BD/DVD vol.3. The commentary is by Kenji Miyamoto & Mitsurou Kubo, as usual. This time it’s Minami’s FS, Phichit’s SP, Leo’s SP and Chris’ SP. More programs so of course it’s longer than usual.

Notes:
-It’s two people talking, not a written interview, so expect them to hop from one subject to another within the same sentence… Even if it sounds a bit unconnected at times, that’s how they said it.
-I still arranged it a little to make it easier to understand as written material, by removing lots of “ehm” “uuhm” “you know” “yes” (I especially removed all instances where someone says “yes” in the middle of the other speaking) and fumbled words.
-Amusingly enough both their initials are KM/MK, but I used the surname initials so M is Miyamoto and K is Kubo.
-I put (LOL) when they’re laughing because otherwise some lines might sound serious while they’re actually joking.

***VERY IMPORTANT***
Do NOT use this translation for subtitles, in ANY way.
I don’t support the upload of bonuses contained in BDs/DVDs, as they are meant to be (as the word says) bonuses for the people who spent money to purchase them. If you like a series so much that you absolutely need to watch the bonus contents, please buy the BDs/DVDs.

Translation under the cut since it’s twice the usual length.

Burned: Arrow 5x15 Review (Fighting Fire with Fire)

So sorry my friends! I have slept. I am medicated. Thus I can write.

Oh Episode 15. You have become the season nemesis. The pebble in our proverbial audience shoe. The yucky chocolate filling in the otherwise yummy chocolate box.

Arrow has begun a tradition over the past three seasons. The 15th episode is filled with a whole lot of suck. I’m excluding 1x15 and 2x15 because I happened to really enjoy those episodes, but 5x15 can go sit in the corner with 3x15 and 4x15. Now, is it Felicity banging Palmer level?

Or Felicity breaking up with Oliver level?

Eh. Depends on your perspective. Those were very low lows. Maybe I’ll just leave 5x15 on par with those episodes.

The good news is, 3x15 and 4x15 were a bottoming out of sorts. We said to ourselves, “Arrow can’t get much crappier that this!” and, for the most part, we were right. There was an upswing as Arrow headed into the back half of the season.

Why is it like this? I don’t know. Arrow hits this wall around the 11-15 range almost every single season. There’s a lull and we run into a series of episodes we could seriously do without.

I don’t think Arrow intends to write a crappy episode. I think they try very hard to make excellent TV every week. The problem is the 23 episode season, and maybe this is why I’m a big “smeh.” I fully expect a third crap, a third good, and a third excellent every season. Typically, that’s what I get. So, I toss this episode into my one third crap pile, grab another bag of chips and write the review.

Cause we gots to talk about why "Fighting Fire with Fire” was a whole lotta suck. We shall address the suck with a copious amounts of gifs, because I’m in. I’m not changing the channel. I’m too invested. You jump I jump Arrow

So, when eps like these come along, I just have to laugh, vent, and have some fun with it. But never fear! I do see rainbows on the horizon. There’s yummy chocolate in this box somewhere.

Let’s dig in…

SKAM thoughts of the day: Why we should appreciate, that Julie is taking her time.
  • We are all impatient. frustrated and don’t understand why it takes so long. We need a trailer, we all miss SKAM content!
  • It has never taken this long before. The trailers have come relatively quickly after the other seasons ended, so now we sit back and think, why does it take so long this time?
  • But we need to keep in mind, that season 1, 2 and 3 was roughly created in advance. Julie knew who the main characters would be, and their main storyline.
  • I don’t know when she and NRK exactly decided that season 4 was going to happen, but probably sometime during season 3.
  • From there, Julie had to figure out the main character  and the storyline. She might have had a rough idea about it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she also wanted to examine the feedback from the fans and take their wishes into consideration - in terms of both the protagonist and his/her story/issues.
  • She also had to do research and perhaps find new actors for supporting roles associated with the new protagonist.
  • Julie undoubtedly takes SKAM very seriously, and she has proven that she really works into depth with the characters and their issues portrayed on the show. she does lots of interviews and is generally thorough in her preparations. She loves her show, and I have no doubt that she wants to make season 4 as meaningful as the other seasons.
  • Although the show seems so simple, it take time to create something as brilliant as SKAM!
  • Think about how awful it would be, if the production company behind Julie was a comercial company, that only had money on their mind, and didn’t really care about the meaningful content. If someone was breathing down her neck, because they knew the fans were LIT right now. If they didn’t give her the time she needed and the show lost all its depth. We have seen it so many times before with succesful tv-shows and movies, where they just want to exploit the success in order to make more money. Tv-shows and movie franchises often get worse and worse because they lose depth and character development.
  • WE DO NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN TO SKAM!
  • So be grateful Julie is taking her time. Be positive about it!
  • And with that said… I really want a trailer soon.

Summary: Johnny gets on your nerves. Of course, this makes Johnny want you even more.

You weren’t attracted to Johnny by any means. He disgusted you. He was a playboy, flirting with every girl he saw. You constantly saw him on campus, a new girl around his arm each time. You lived in the same dorm as him but if you lived on the same floor as the guys, you were sure you’d see a new girl leaving his room every other morning. Thankfully, you lived on the second floor.

It wasn’t that Johnny was ugly because he wasn’t. In fact, he was rather good looking. However, his personality was too much for you. He could be so cocky and there was nothing that you hated more than a man with a huge ego. He had the looks, the grades, and more. He could play the piano, too. But none of that mattered to you. He annoyed you. His very presence annoyed you.

anonymous asked:

How do you create characters? Or do they come find you and tell you their stories?

I’m afraid it varies! It really depends on the situation. It feels too pragmatic to sound creative but too creative to sound pragmatic.

On the creative end, sometimes the characters do come to me. But they usually aren’t presenting their stories outright.

In a literal sense, a character idea will pop in my head, so I’ll write up a little about them—the things I feel to be true—and sometimes give them a piece of flash fiction (or something else short) so I can get a feeling for how they are and if they fit my initial assessment.

I prefer character-driven media, so I focus on what the character is like and figure out what they want. For example, my second NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) was a story about a writer. (Wow, yes, I know. So original. Writing about a writer. Yeah.) I didn’t know what the writer wanted, but I knew what she was like. I knew her base situation as well. If you know their base situation (where they are at the beginning of the story or slightly prior to it), you can figure out what makes them unhappy about it.

After all, stories are about journeys, whether they are emotional or physically moving to a different place or whatever.

My writer character felt like she didn’t have the life experience to be a good writer. Summer comes, and she chooses to take that time to travel to different places and meet new people. One conflict is that her parents don’t really want her to go, especially by herself, because she was only 17 or so.

I evaluated the character (she was an ambitious writer) and calculated in what she didn’t like about where she was (she was an inexperienced writer). So the plot/story came to me from there: she decides to leave so she can travel and get life experience.

In that sense, they don’t always exactly tell me their stories. I focused on what made the writer who she was and what kind of growth she needed to take, not necessarily the growth she wanted.

The idea was that, by the end, she had gained experience but that she didn’t feel richer for it, so she was going to struggle with trying to realize what she had actually learned by leaving. I never really got there, but that was the idea.

So I didn’t say to myself, “I have a writer character, and I want her to travel.” I said to myself, “I have a concept of a writer who is inexperienced. She wants to travel to get that valuable experience. I guess the story should be about her travels.”

The story fell flat and unfinished, of course, by virtue of how I intended for her to go cross-country when I had not done the same. It felt inauthentic, and I bailed. I jammed out some nonsense so I could say I had “won” NaNoWriMo that year.

My more pragmatic view on characters is that I have a basic concept (like, very basic, as in “I want to write about a character that worships unicorns”) and then go through my personal questionnaires to determine the rest of their traits and what they’re like.

  • Where does this character live (mountains, valley, riverbed, beach, etc.)?
  • What surrounds their home (what kind of buildings, what landmarks, what roads)?
  • What is the climate like?
  • How many moons and suns does that world have?
  • What is the time period?
  • What kind of city/town do they live in?
  • How many people live there? What kinds of people?
  • What plants (fruit, trees, spices, vegetables, etc.) do they produce?
  • What animals/wildlife do they have?
  • What is the character’s role in that place?
  • Why do they have that role?
  • What are their goals? Are they happy with their current role?
  • What is the one thing they most want to change?
  • What are their hobbies? What interests them?
  • What is their family like? Any siblings? Parents alive? What relationships do they have with their family members (MC to father, MC to sister, etc.)? What relationships do the family members have with each other (mother to father, brother to sister, etc.)?
  • Do they have any current love interests? What has their love life been like?
  • What are they good at?
  • Do they have any religious beliefs? If so, what are they? If not, why?
  • Do they perform any rituals (religious or otherwise)?
  • What body type do they have? How do other people perceive their appearance?
  • What is their view on gender roles?

I then check out what I said about their goals and roles.

  • What would they need to do in order to achieve their goals?
  • Is it feasible?
  • Would it be an interesting story? Why or why not?
  • Who would try to stop them?
  • What obstacles are in the way (giant wall, overbearing parents, lack of money, education necessities, etc.)?
  • Why are these goals and roles so important? Who are they most important to?

After all that, it feels like a good time to start plotting the story out. And it’s straight-forward from there! (Usually.) When I start plotting, I generally go with a general idea of where things start and where things end. Then, I can figure out what would happen in between.

Story-plotting is about way more than waiting for the right inspiration. Being a writer is about dedication and writing, even when inspiration is nonexistent. But you have to write to find inspiration. You can inspire yourself simply by working. You can’t let a blank page let you down. You have to create stories and not just wait for them to come to you.

Inspiration, though, is awesome. If you get inspired, run with it—with all of your ability, run with it. But you won’t feel inspiration every single day, so you have to learn how to create characters and stories on your own.

uhmm…. hey there. I really really like your epictale comic (and you in general). And I tried to digitalize the first page of your comic. I’m sorry if I didn’t ask permission (I have no excuse and I have no idea why I didn’t ask for it too, I’m very sorry). And well, thank you for creating epictale.

ALSO, you’re one of my biggest inspirations.

Response: oh my gosh! Dis is beautiful! Very well done! Dis is probably one of my favorite color version so far!

I literally have no idea why anyone would think TGD is queerbaiting–

the creators literally say Dizzee is bi and is in love with Thor, he’s been shown going to a gay bar, kissed Thor in canon, wrote comic-letters to him when he was away, meets up with him at night to create art and paint each other, and draws hearts in the air to Thor during shows

Shao is canon in love with Zeke and even if the creators hadn’t officially confirmed it (WHICH THEY DID) you’d have to be straight not to notice, the dude is literally head-over-heels (like he does fancy flips and shit to impress him) in love and literally is never shown attracted to any woman ever and other characters notice.

Mylene chills with drag queens and creates songs with them and we consistently see LGBT folks’ influence in the music scene. And that real influence is acknowledged even among the conservative homophobic characters.

I dunno what that looks like to y’all but to me that’s some gay shit and I love it

The Royal Romance

Inside Choices is a behind-the-scenes blog from the Pixelberry team. Got any suggestions for future blog posts? Let us know!

It’s been an exciting few weeks at Pixelberry! Spring is in full bloom, and with it, we’ve seen the release of the newest The Crown & The Flame book and Endless Summer’s grand finale – and yes, Endless Summer: Book 2 is currently in the works.

But that’s not all we’ve got in store for you! We just released The Royal Romance, a thrilling whirlwind of love that doubles as a spin-off of Rules of Engagement. It’s the first of several new books we’re hoping to unveil throughout the spring and summer.

The Choices team is pretty much constantly hard at work on current and future books… but I did manage to snag the two writers from The Royal Romance for a quick chat:

Let’s hit the basics first. What is The Royal Romance about?

Jennifer: ‘The Royal Romance’ is about a normal girl who has one magical night with a prince and makes the spontaneous decision to travel to his kingdom to try to win his heart. But will you end up with him or fall for someone else along the way?

Kara: We’ll sometimes start off with a guideline, kind of like a one-line prompt. For Rules of Engagement, for example, our goal was something more dramatic than The Freshman and following four different characters. For The Royal Romance, our premise was to write a fish-out-of-water romance about a normal girl who gets swept into the world of royalty. We knew we wanted there to be some kind of competition element to it, so what we ended up with was something like a cross between The Bachelor and The Prince and Me–all of the thrill of falling in love with the adventure of traveling and trying to compete for the person you love.

It’s always fun spotting the crossovers in different Choices books and seeing the universe grow. How did you settle on the idea of creating a Rules of Engagement spin-off?

Jennifer: We’d already started developing the kingdom of Cordonia for Rules of Engagement, and when we found out we’d be making a romantic, royalty-focused book, it seemed like a good opportunity to expand the world and dig deeper into what it’s like there since you don’t see it very much in Rules.

Kara: Technically, The Royal Romance is also a continuation of The Crown & The Flame, though that may be a little more subtly done! One of the characters, Olivia, is a descendant of Zenobia, who appears in book 2 of TC&TF. Readers can probably tell that we love crossovers. Part of that’s because we all love seeing what the whole team is working on, so we play all the Choices books. But part of it’s also because writers will switch books when we need to help out with something else. For example, Jennifer moved from The Freshman to help launch Rules of Engagement. The writers from Most Wanted are currently working on Endless Summer and #LoveHacks, as you might have figured out from all the mysteries and jokes! Braidwood Manor had a writer from The Freshman on it, which is why there’s some cameos there.

Sometimes it can be hard when you work on a story for so long to then move on to start up another book. Leaving The Crown & The Flame to focus more on Rules and The Royal Romance was really difficult for me because I love those characters so much, but TC&TF was fortunate to have two other amazingly talented writers to keep it going. We’re always excited to get the chance to tell new stories, tackle new genres, and experiment with new ideas, but I think we all also have so much love for the other characters and worlds we’ve created that it breaks our hearts to leave them behind. I think that’s why we have so many crossovers in the whole game! It’s our way of taking our worlds with us.

What do you personally love most about The Royal Romance? And what are you most excited for our readers to encounter?

Kara: One cool thing we really wanted to do was have people get to pick their prince. This is the first time we’ve let you customize a love interest! Another thing I’m excited for is that because we’re using the same customizable character as #LoveHacks, we were able to get more skin tones and facial features so players have more options for how to customize their own character, too.

Jennifer: Also, we’ve had a lot of fun building up the characters around the Prince, and if dating a prince isn’t your cup of tea, it’s quite possible there are other lady and gentleman suitors for players to encounter.

All of our books have, to varying degrees, some romance in them. But this book is unabashedly about romance - it’s in the title! What are your thoughts on romance as its own genre?

Jennifer: I love romance and reading romance! Whenever I talk to people about it, though, they usually bring it up in a guilty way like maybe it’s something to be embarrassed over or perhaps because some don’t really see it as real literature. It makes me sad when people feel like they need to be ashamed of what they like! It feels sometimes like certain genres are deemed less literary or worthy, and I feel like the genres that get called out are often ones that are loved by women or young adults. A certain genre might not be for everyone, but that doesn’t make it less important to the people who care about it.

I think romance stories have a lot of heart, and that’s something I love in storytelling. To me, ultimately, a good romance is about seeing how people relate to one another and find meaning in their life. Connecting with people–whether it’s romantic or not–is a fundamental part of existing, and romance stories have the opportunity to explore that. And if you can find something real in what you’re reading, then isn’t that the point?

This book came together while you were simultaneously working on Rules of Engagement. That’s taking multi-tasking to a whole new level. How do you do it? Just how much coffee do you drink in a day?

Kara: Sometimes it feels like we never stop working! When you love the stories and the characters as much as we do, it can be really hard to stop thinking about them, even in the middle of the night. Plus, Jennifer and I have been best friends since high school, so we spend a lot of time outside of the office together, and when we’re excited about a project, we can’t stop talking about it. On New Year’s Eve this year, we were brainstorming The Royal Romance while everyone else was watching the ball drop.

At the end of the day, though, this isn’t just a job to us, and I hope it shows in the stories Choices puts out. It’s crazy how much we end up caring about the characters and the stories we’re telling. I think that’s the hardest part. We love writing and we want to do our best, tell the best story, and write something that will touch people. In most other forms of writing, you’d get a lot more time to agonize and revise, but we’ve got to hit weekly releases, so when Wednesday comes, time’s up. There’s a lot of pressure to write well, write fast, and, in this case, to build something new in a very short amount of time. The scariest thing is feeling like with so many things that go into every chapter and every book, and so many deadlines to hit, we might mess something up and let our fans down. But when it all goes right and we put out something that readers love, it makes it all worth it!

Finally… I’ve got to know. What’s your favorite fairy tale princess story?

Kara: Sleeping Beauty! I was convinced after I heard that story that my parents would some day reveal that I was actually a princess in hiding…

Jennifer: Cinderella. I love it as a transformative rags-to-riches story and also as a tale that you can see told across many different cultures. I do tend to favor more modern interpretations though, like the novels Just Ella or Ella Enchanted which are two of my favorite books.

Thank you for taking the time to chat! And to all of you reading along, The Royal Romance is out now – check into your game for a whirlwind of love, adventure, and more! Hope you love it just as much as we do.

Here’s the Dealio

As you know, I’ve been disappearing for months at a time for this blog.

I would come back and say “I plan on working on the story!” in trying to keep some of your hopes alive. And there was a point when that was 100% true (I even thought about a revamp the other day)

Unfortunately, the worst, and probably what many of you have predicted, has happened-
I’ve fallen out of the Undertale fandom.

There’s a myriad of reasons why- the most major one being that this was the absolute first time that I let a fandom consume me and my time so much.

I spent all of 2016 pretty much drawing fanart- albeit original-ish in content.

If there’s two things I’m incredibly thankful; it’s for the fact that drawing so damn frequently for this blog and UT in general has helped me improve vastly in my art, and it’s for the people I’ve gotten to meet, briefly talk to, read the content of, befriend…

I pulled some friendships from this fandom that I treasure dearly <3 and other’s that, when I have a chance, I’d love to build up on.

But that’s another story for another day OvO;;;;;;

That aside, I wanted to get back into making original/personal content for the year 2017 and onwards. I’m a storywriter and character designer (which, looks pretty pretentious when self-proclaimed lmao, but it’s true). And those were the main reason’s why I was so attracted to the UT fandom and the idea of how you guys all create such beautiful character designs and stories off of this one amazing story. You’ve all spun it into something of your own, and each twist and turn and development is an amazing experience not only for us as Content Creators, but for us Consumers. I absolutely loved making different offsets of Charas and Frisks
Sometimes of other monsters
I loved making a bajillion AUs and writing stories and making blogs (although the only two I’ve ever focused on were this one and Flipfell).

Sometimes I have a moment of relapse and draw a chara or Frisk or two.

OVERALL, THOUGH; I’ve more or less moved on from this fandom. Not because I’m bored of it, heaven’s no. But because I want to be able to focus on making o.cs and bringing their stories back to life.

Now, what the hell does one do with 600,000 Charas and Frisks they redesigned and altered after pulling away from the UT fandom, you ask?

You don’t just throw those away lmao. O.cs are time, they’re care, and they’re a precious part of you. We all love our children.

So, I’ve managed to redesign and oc-ify most, if not all, of my existing Chara’s and Frisks- including Oreo (NH Frisk) and Snaps (NH Chara). And for the most part, those two  are my absolute biases.

So here’s where you guys, and this blog comes in.

While some of my designs will be taking to the shelf and getting a bit dusty, I’ve been getting to work with NH Chara and Frisk- making them into their own story (whilst tying in some of my other Chara and Frisk biases.)

It’s a story I’ve been actively working on daily for the last 5 months or so. And I plan to make it a comic (originally, it was going to be a pixel rpg- but I’m impatient, and I don’t want to rope my gaming circle into focusing on my characters. I’d rather the game we make be something all three of us create together).

I may not post the comic here on tumblr- I was planning to do that for a site it’s better formatted for like Tapastic or Webtoon.

However, considering I’ve been working on the story so frequently for the last few months- to the point where I have far more interest in it than I do their origins (No-Heal), or any other o.cs/stories I have, I produce a lot of doodles, short comics, drawings, headcanons, ideas, the like, for these characters. And I’ve been sharing it all on my personal art blog.

But, I’ve decided I may not want to flood my art blog with a story that “massive” (it’d become the majority of my art blog due to how much I focus on those characters, and I don’t want that).

So I thought

Maybe,

Because this is the place of my bbies’ origin

And because you guys may enjoy my content and where I go with my children

I could convert this blog into the homebase for this comic’s story and content.

Now, I’m not going to delete all of the previous posts- I’m a hoarder, and I like to look back on my growth from the beginning to where I am now. I love this blog dearly. I love NH dearly, I love UT and what it’s given me dearly.

And I finally have something more to show for it.

For the most part, I wanted to check in with you guys on this.
Keep in mind, I may go through with the change regardless, so this would be more of a warning post than anything.

The reason I’m choosing to do this here is because some of you have been here since the blog’s conception, watching me grow and play around with NH Frisk and NH Chara. So I thought- maybe you’d all want to keep up with where they are now ; v;

ThatandI’mtiredofmakingnewemailsIhavelike6tumblrsIhavehadenougH lmao

That being said, If you want no part of this, you’re welcome to unfollow, and I respect that decision. You didn’t come here to watch me prattle about o.cs probably ahaha, and I’m sorry to disappoint that I won’t be continuing much with No-Heal. It was nice having been of service to you for the time that you were here!!

I think I’ve gotten everything out that I’ve needed to.

I’m going to schedule this post a few times throughout the day, so everyone gets a chance to see it!! I really would like feedback on this matter, especially if you’re planning to continue following. Send an ask on how you feel, etc.

And send asks about the story!! The characters- what I’ve done with NH Frisk and Chara, a summary if you’d like, etc.

Just like
Don’t be pissy about me letting go of NH lol

Now for the treat of this post, and my bribing content //eyes emoji- some of the shitty doodles I’ve produced for this story

These are the current designs for all of the main characters!! NH Frisk (Avery) is at the very front, NH Chara (Mikhail) to the right of them. Fun fact; everyone in the back were also once Frisks and a Chara !! A lot of the character’s in this story were.

Some of the designs have most definitely changed a bit up to that point, though, since I’m still working out outfit designs and etc. suitable for each character and the story’s various settings!! So below this, a lot of designs will vary

I hope I can get you guys on board for this- I mean I might go through with the change anyway- but I’m a selfish shellfish and want as little frowny faces as possible ;v;

Thank you for reading this post, for sticking around when i’ve been disgustingly inactive, and for just
In general being cool people.
I hope you all have a nice morning, day, and/or night <3

Rest of the bribery beneath the cut !!
