i have a lot of feels about this scene

unpopular opinion time

hoo boy you have no idea how much i agree. i can’t really enjoy his character that much because he feels incredibly fake up until pt6 in that he doesn’t really… interact realistically with his environment. he’s an asshole to just about every female character all throughout SDC (hell, and even DiU) but for some reason they either accept it or fawn over him despite his shittiness. generally, his “cool guy” aspects are so badly balanced that he comes across as some asshole guy who can do no wrong in the eyes of anybody in canon, because he’s the protagonist, and protagonists have to be liked or something. to top it all off, his character is often aggressively butchered by the fandom and it’s never questioned, but that’s another rant and i can go on and on about it.

in other news, more and more am i wondering if jotaro being a bad character even is an unpopular opinion. a huge part of the fandom goes hog sodding wild about him but there are a few blogs (1 and 2 that i know of) that criticise his character and seem to have a pretty strong following, and a good bunch of folks i talk to are pretty critical of him.

so i have a lot of mixed feelings about that hug scene

first off, emma looked like she was in pain when she told regina about her engagement, and looked super regretful to me

second, emma said “h00k” instead of “killian” which came off as super weird to me??

both of these things good for SQ obviously, it shows that emma might not be very excited at all about marrying this fuckboy after all and shows that regina really is invested in emma’s happiness, even if that means emma marrying a slimeball

BUT seriously what a fucking cop out of a hug that was

really A&E, this is what you give us??

i understand that yeah its pretty great that regina is hugging emma and congratulating her on her engagement despite hating h00k and it shows that emma’s happiness means a lot to her but for fucking real, they have saved each others lives too many time for the first hug, that SQers have been begging for for years, be shown when a fucking engagement is announced in a lackluster fashion and NOT after one of the MANY times they have saved each others lives

they didnt show regina’s reaction at all to the hug, meanwhile the het ships on the show get like 5 mins of facial reaction screentime for each character involved for just ONE hug

to me this was just A&E trying to shut us up again and queerbait the fuck out of us so that their ratings go up and it’s absolutely disgusting to me

here we are now, with the falling sky and the rain
     we’re awakening ♪

one of the scenes I would really love to see (as I’m sure many people have thought of!) is Rey experiencing her first rainfall ☺ also because “Awakening” has become one of my theme songs for TFA and all the new kids, there’s something about it which is very beautiful and fits so well thematically ;;

AND BONUS PIC: Finn + Rey (+ Poe’s jacket of a thousand uses (〃▽〃) )

Marvel’s Luke Cage Meme: [4/5] Scenes - Mariah Dillard and Patricia Wilson confront Inspector Ridley and Detective Knight about police brutality (1x10)

There’s a lot to say about Jingo, and I wish I was in the right headspace to really write coherently, but I’ve been sitting here with this text post open for about half an hour trying different sentences and finding that none of them quite fit what I’m feeling.

There’s a lot of anger in this book. It’s hard to notice, sometimes, because it’s also an incredibly funny and ridiculous book. There are a lot of jokes! But some of those jokes come to a sharp and unexpected point. That scene with Detritus and the Riot Act is hilarious; it’s got Vimes at his most dry and sarcastic and it’s got Detritus methodically picking up a man and using him to hit a bunch of other men. But it’s also got that sharp moment when one of the men claims that Klatchians have killed people, and Vimes asks “who?” and the man falters and says “…everyone knows they’ve been killing people!” and that’s such a familiar sounding phrase that it pulls you up short.

And any conversation between Fred Colon and Nobby is going to be hilarious, and there is nothing funnier than watching Nobby quietly make a fool of Fred’s casual ignorant racism. He doesn’t even have to try hard! But then: “You know we’re better’n Klatchians. Otherwise what’s the point?

There’s so much of that in this book. Little moments, that betray the frustration and anger behind the entire plotline. When I first read it, I was thirteen, and didn’t notice most of it. But I distinctly remember reading for the first time that scene between Carrot and Goriff:

“We can tell which way the wind is blowing,” said Goriff calmly.
Carrot sniffed the salt air. “It’s blowing from Klatch,” he said.
“For you, perhaps,” said Goriff.

I’ve never forgotten that. That was how I remembered Jingo after reading the entire series and going back again. There are others that hit me harder now (the “they are us” passage in particular) but this was the scene that telegraphed perfectly to me the bitterness and frustration in this conflict, in watching it, in living it.

And then Jingo gives us what we all want so badly, the whole time, watching this play out. Vimes puts his foot down. He charges in. He arrests the leaders of the opposing nations. He arrests the armies. He stops it, he ends it. And there’s still frustration, there has to be, there’s no way everything can get better overnight. But he saw how stupid the whole thing was and he made it stop. There’s anger in that, too, because it’s what the angry part of us watching the conflict wants to have happen. We want to arrest the armies. We want to arrest Lord Rust and Prince Cadram and everybody like them. We want to end it, and we get to do that alongside Vimes. If only we didn’t have to put the book down afterwards.

I need to make some space for my own anger at the end of this tirade here. Reading the tags on some of these posts, a huge number of them echo the same core sentiment: “relevant.” And it is. It’s so relevant. And I’m so angry. Because it shouldn’t be. We shouldn’t still be here, watching the pebbles bounce. We shouldn’t feel an aching familiarity in the words of a bigot declaring that “everyone knows” something completely made-up, or in a family leaving their home because the people around them are claiming it doesn’t belong to them. Why are we still here. Why is this still happening. Why is this still relevant.

I’m extremely glad to have this book, as an excellent story and excellent social commentary, to be relevant in this time. But I still wish that it wasn’t.

Fall For You (M) | 02

Summary: You hate a lot of things about Jeon Jungkook; you hate his arrogance, his reputation, and his pet name for you to name a few. But most of all, you hate how right it feels for you to fall into his arms, and how easy it is to fall for him.
Word Count: 10,272
Genre: fuckboy!Jungkook, college au, hate to lust to-

Part 01. Part 03

It wasn’t over.

After your night with Jungkook he was on your mind more than ever. You didn’t go to any parties in the following days, but you couldn’t help but think of him during the evening, of if he was drinking to get drunk or to maintain appearances as he brought another girl to his bed. The idea of him, wrapped around a random girl, his tongue shoved down her throat, didn’t bother you.

No, what angered you was how he continued to consume your thoughts, even though you hated him more than you’d ever hated anyone else.

It wasn’t fair.

I literally have no words for how much I’m in love with @kazliin‘s Until My Feet Bleed and My Heart Aches and no I definitely did not discover and catch up on it all in the span of two hours no siree (spoiler: yes I did)

[TW 6B SPOILERS] According to someone who has the script for 6x20:

- Derek comes back because one of the Hales die.
- There’s a lot of Lydia, Stiles, Scott and Derek screentime.
- Stiles and Derek are in a scene with Scott. (I’m not sure if they’re in any others.)
- Stydia will be endgame. There is no rain kiss but they have boyfriend/girlfriend banter.
- Jackson comes back. - Mason and Corey are endgame.
- Derek gets a happy ending.
- There’s a flash forward and Scott is successful and married in it but they don’t say who he’s married to.
- Theo helps Liam’s pack, hence all the old characters coming back for one final battle.
- There will be no Kira, unfortunately.
- Episode is Hale centric.
- Melissa and Chris are also endgame.
- Parrish gets a final scene with the sheriff but his story really isn’t wrapped up, or something.
- There’s a flash forward.
- The ending is epic.

Okay, I’m spazzing out a bit too, but can we talk about that garage scene?

It was just… phenomenal. My biggest concern was that this was going to happen.

Victor had it right, his leaving would have been the biggest thing to effect Yuuri and we all know he went about it the wrong way. Even he knew it the moment after he said it.

Oops.

BUT YUURI’S REACTION

Calling Victor out on what bullshit that is. He broke down into a blubbering mess, it’s true, but it’s also just the dam breaking from all the pent up nerves.

Yuuri’s so aware of himself too. He explained WHY he was feeling the way he was feeling.

This scene was so important because it wasn’t the typical ‘beg him to come back’ bit, like I dreaded when they finally made the move to use the trope. No.

It was Yuuri snapping back, even in the middle of a meltdown, because he knew what he needed

and instead of bottling it up,

he told Victor, helping him to grow as well.

Which lead to a great moment of personal and mutual growth with each other.

It was handled so, SOOOO well. It could have very well gone the stereotypical way but it didn’t and I’m soooo happy they did. They shattered my heart expectations yet again;

Favourite Acting Scenes – Isak and Even meet in the schoolyard (9.10 part 4)

Also known as that post in which I make use of my English lit degree to overanalyse everything.

So here it comes: the scene, in which everything is laid bare and has been episodes in the making. You get the script, but as far as you can see, there is only one line for one of you. That means that the rest of the scene hinges upon you, the actor, your eyes, your body movements, your energy. Throughout the series, you’ve had moments in which moments of quietness were needed, but none as long as this one. To really make it work, it’s all about you and your fellow actor. As mentioned in @softnorwegianslovely post  the trust has been established: you know what you’re both comfortable with and what you can do without breaking the scene. You can challenge each other, and you have each other’s back; so you can make this as intense as possible. We as an audience have to keep in mind; it could be that the music was played during the filming of this scene, but it’s not the only sound they would’ve heard.

So how is it possible that this scene feels so particularly intense, even when you disregard the music? I think that one of the reasons that makes you feel it so deeply is because of its use of the five senses in order to focus on feeling. Feeling that you’re not alone is so different from knowing that you’re not alone.

Regardless of whether Even was really going to take that final step or not, Isak is scared out of his mind after receiving that text message. As a person who has the tendency to assume the worst, as evidenced by his inability to see that people aren’t always mad at him for stuff he does, for Isak to see that bench to be empty has to be the most horrible feeling in the world. You feel that his heart just sinks right into his stomach; until he remembers Even’s ridiculous towel dispenser flirting move – maybe he’s to be found there. And then, as if the stars aligned for just that moment, Even is there.

The tiniest hint of a smile is found in Tarjei’s mouth and eyes, and he makes the relief feel tangible; Even is shocked into a motionless state, his depression clearly has taken a heavy toll on him with his red-rimmed eyes. But still, they walk towards each other. Both in different mind-sets; Even terrified and maybe unable to comprehend what’s going to happen here, while Isak is slowly taking in the fact that Even’s still here. They keep looking at each other.

Now, the first time I saw this scene I was confused as to what Isak was doing here; he’s not kissing his cheeks but seems to be ‘nosing’ them. But rewatching it a few times, one edit with regular street sounds in particular, made me realise that Isak slowly wants to make sure that Even physically and emotionally feels that he’s not alone. And even for himself, this is the case: Isak needs to feel Even is there, he isn’t gone yet again, he’s right there. We need to see this in close-up.

So first are touch and smell; cheeks upon cheeks, noses upon noses as they are so fond of doing. Can you feel me, Even? How close we are to each other? There’s no space between us. And when he’s sure Even feels him – because Even leans into him in small increments, brushing his nose ever so slowly over his cheek – then he moves on to touch and sight and hearing. His hands make sure Even looks up, into his eyes. Can you see me, Even? I’m still here. See me here so close to you.

And then he mentions a few of the most wonderful words you can hear in this universe and all the parallel ones.

You’re not alone.

What a beautiful reaction from Henrik here: he listens, takes it in, and closes his eyes as if it’s too good to be true. Ever so slowly, they move on to touch and taste. Isak takes the initiative, kisses Even very carefully and only twice. I’d like to kiss you so much more. If you’ll let me. But that’s all they need for this moment. Then there’s the eye contact again; Isak already almost falling against Even, seeing his face and those wonderful eyes again. Until now they’ve only given the barest touches to each other, but now that’s not enough anymore.

Tarjei and Henrik’s amazing chemistry, trust and ability to show the feelings and emotions behind this scene without saying anything made this such a special scene. Lesser actors would not have been able to convey such intensity in a scene without dialogue.

So Isak envelops Even into his arms, and Even reaches around him to tightly hug him back. And isn’t that one of the most wonderful feelings in the world? When you’re completely surrounded by someone’s smell, and touch them by taking them in your arms, and hear their breath pushing out in relief? Now you not only know you’re not alone, but you can actually feel it.

What a Helga Natt indeed.

Previous parts: here.

i can’t even explain how happy it makes me that alec and magnus can talk about everything without it being weird, how they worry about each other, support each other, seek comfort in each other and how they’re slowly becoming each other’s safe place. i live for this healthy relationship that is developing in the most natural and beautiful way possible between these two damaged but amazing people who deserve all the love in this world.

Why is no one talking about what Sherlock says here? From the beginning of the episode they show us that everyone is telling John that it’s okay, that he’s going to be okay. But John is fed up with it. He wants someone to look at him and say “No, it’s not okay, but we can get through this.” He wants someone to see that he is truly struggling, that he can’t do this on his own. He desperately needs help but he’s terrified to ask for it, and Sherlock understands. Once John opens up to Sherlock and lets him see that he’s still hurting, Sherlock is there for him without hesitation. He holds John so tenderly and tells John that “It is what it is.” parroting John’s own words back to him, he’s there for John in a way that no one has been before. This is Sherlock Holmes saving the life, saving John Watson’s life, because it’s just the two of them against the rest of the world.

YURIO in Yuri on Ice Ep. 12 - Interpretation/Analysis

In my personal opinion, I believe Yuri on Ice made suggestions towards my Yurio crush theory (1, 2), but if you prefer to think of it as just admiration, that’s fine. Either way, it’s a beautiful turn of events. I’m going to take apart the scenes from Episode 12 and explain how I interpret them.

This episode really hit me in the feels and I loved it. So far I’ve seen a lot of positive responses to it, but I have also seen people who are unhappy with Yurio’s part in it. If you are one of those people, I’d suggest reading this post or my post about Yurio’s past, as I think they help people get a new perspective on him.

ALL RIGHT. ONTO THE SUPER SUPER SUPER CHARGED GRAND PRIX FINAL (OF TEARS)!!!

About Yuri!!! on Ice ep 12

Before I start I have to say I cried because of this episode. Please do note that I’m not an emotional type of a person, I rarely cry. But I did. This just shows how precious the last episode is. Therefore, I’m not going to choose just some scenes like the previous rants. I will talk about AS MUCH SCENES AS I CAN because I have class after this.

First, this scene hit me. We all know that Victor smiles a lot, no? He looks happy most of the time so a scene where such a bright character has tears in his eyes…. just like someone punch me in the gut as I see it. Our living legend cried. Him getting mad? God I love how this show can properly portray human’s complex emotion.

YES FOR LETTING SOMEONE WHO’S NOT A SEIYUU INTO THIS SHOW. It adds the feel, that we’re actually invited to Spain in this show. Thank you Stéphane Lambiel for being a YOI family member ///v///

Then this scene also happened. I fucking feel for JJ. Like seriously. I was once a bowling player in the past and I fucked up my first competition. Pretty badly. So bad that it was like a beginner who hadn’t really played before and just suddenly showed up in a competition. I might not be a good player, but my scores in practices were fine. I really, really hated myself that time lol. That’s why I’m so glad JJ could pick himself up and finished his FS JJ style *CLAPS FOR JJ*

Yes, Seung Gil smiled for JJ I can’t even explain it well but his smile is so precious even more when he doesn’t do that often ///v///

Then. *clears throat* YOU CAN’T JUST NOT SMILING LOOKING AT PHICHIT LIKE SERIOUSLY. HE’S SO PRECIOUS I ALWAYS SMILE SEEING HIM///// And look at that dream of his OH MY GOD IS HE AN ANGEL????? Where’s my Phichit!!! on Ice I need it now

And this right here was making me cry again. THIS SHOW JUST PLAYED WITH MY EMOTION GOD–

This. Look at how they shook hands and then Yuuri letting go first leaving Victor’s hanging as if not wanting to let go. I sobbed.

Okay I admit I was too entranced by Yuuri’s performance, but this one hit me again. LET THIS HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP SINK INTO YOU GUYS. He doesn’t want to keep Victor to his side only. He also thinks of Victor, what is good for him and act to it. Though, if I can say something, it’s always good for you to think of your partner’s well-being, but the decision to act upon it is your partner’s. Respect their choices as well, okay? Let the both of you talk it out with cool head, I’m sure you’re going to be fine/// this psych student can’t stop herself to preach on this I’m so sorry Continue onto the next one!

At this point I cried. Congratulations Yuuri you’ve succeeded in making your point why you decided to retire across Victor. You light up Victor’s competitive side *cries again* Oh my God this is so beautiful I can’t thank Kubo-Sensei enough (;-;)

THEN IT’S THIS HOT STUFF’S TURN. Look at his face when Victor and Yuuri cheered for him. That’s just so cute OMG;;; Also,

NO, THANK YOU FOR BEING PRECIOUS.

OTABEK’S TURN!! At first I was like “Whoa he picked that piece?” when I heard the music playing. And the costume looks so good on him I LOVE IT. I was so entranced by the performance there was a time when I thought “If Otabek wins the gold medal I won’t be surprised, he’s so good;;”. He’s just so manly and solid I fall for him and I’m a fan of the piece he picked. But then…

The narration is Otabek’s but the scene was showing Yuri instead. I thought “…Oh no, it’s like he’s giving a place for Yuri to shine…” No, I’m not saying Yuri win because of Otabek giving him a slack. Yuri is capable, strong enough to win with his own skill to count on. It was just a hunch of mine, saying that Otabek isn’t going to win a medal and Yuri is going to get the gold medal.

Lastly, it’s Yuri’s turn. I’m so happy to see Yuri’s point of view and the flash back. Here we can see him getting his interest piqued by Yuuri. He didn’t suddenly mock Yuuri, instead he saw him as another competitor who could do better. For me, he’s not a childish brat who can only diss people out, he thinks of their capabilities too and that’s a good point of him.

Since he saw Yuuri as fellow competitor, he wants him to keep skating. This episode isn’t just about Yuuri making his point across to Victor through his skating, Yuri is also doing just that to Yuuri.

So turns out I guessed right. Yuri took the gold medal with Yuuri slightly behind. And then…

OH MY GOD I CRIED. YUURI WANTED VICTOR TO STAY WITH HIM IN COMPETITIVE FIGURE SKATING. Victor wanted to be with Yuuri. Yuuri wanted Victor to return to be a competitive skater that he is. Accomodate both and you got this. KUBO-SENSEI THANK YOU/////

So yeah I’m already happy with how the things are. I’m pleased to see this show. I thought it was just like that, but–

There’s Yuuri. With Victor’s free program. And I noticed how his costume was similar to Victor’s, only with different color. I kept watching and watching, entranced more and more to the performance. Both the choreograph and piece were so good I can watch it all day.

THEN I SAW VICTOR CASUALLY SKATING INTO THE RINK AND I SCREAMED INTERNALLY I CAN’T EVEN SCREAM PROPERLY. IT’S A FRIGGIN’ PAIR SKATING OF VICTUURI I’M–

SO BEAUTIFUL KUBO-SENSEI I’M CRYING I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGGHHH THANK YOU FOR MAKING SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SHOW now I’m getting emotional

I hope we can see more of your works, Sensei.

See you NEXT LEVEL!!

The Final Problem: Eurus’s crash therapy session

I’ve written one post talking about how my husband viewed the “I Love You” scene in The Final Problem.  I wanted to write some more, as we’ve discussed TFP in depth together.  We talk a lot about the media we consume because A) we’re nerds, and B) our views are usually quite different.

It’s also nice to have a male perspective on things, as it sometimes can shed some light where my female brain just bumbles around in the dark and stubs it’s toe on the Feels Dresser.  My husband views things very textually, but he is also fantastic at thinking about stuff on a meta level.  It’s nice because he has no ulterior motives either, no shipper goggles or anything.  I’m going to write a bit about his theories about TFP and what it all meant in his eyes.  I’ll add my own views as well, for comparison.  This is going to be a long af post, so strap in!

(Disclaimer: this post may contain more shippy talk than you want, because I am a major Sherlolly/Molly Hooper lover, but you can also disregard my feelings and read for the hell of it.)
