i hate tagging things like this

One of the stupidest things about this is that these white mercy stans act like ppl are directly attacking them, delivering hate mail by the truckloads right to jeff kaplan’s front door, and singlehandedly destroying mercy and ovw, when in reality they’re the ones making problems out of nothing and being disrespectful by rbing concept mercy posts/hcs just to say “I don’t like this” even though nobody asked

kogaanes  asked:

ive recently got into voltron and I immediately loved sheith. (well, klance + shance too but) and i was expecting some hate but when i finally got some i was shook. it hurt. i cried. i felt like i was the one that was wrong. but reading your posts made me feel confident. so thank you!!

omg,, u have no idea how much this means to me.

getting hate is hard. its honestly one of the worst things in the world because it makes you doubt yourself and turns all of your thoughts inside out because what if. i struggle with this all the time. you are not alone, here. and i - as well as many others, im sure - will always be here to tell you that you are not what the antis say you are.

but really, im just so glad that my posts make a small difference. really, thats my goal - to make others feel better about something that really isnt terrible at all. so im really glad that they helped you out  🐝 🌻 ☀️

related, though: i hate how bastila’s fall in captivity was depicted

like. it’s just.

her fall is excellently telegraphed in her personal arc. because bastila is vain and quick to anger, she’s proud and stubborn and insecure, and she is young and inexperienced and has the hopes and expectations of the whole galaxy riding on her shoulders.

but her captivity by malak is pure torture porn, and nothing else.

the thing that always gets to me about vivicar’s poisoning of the jedi’s minds in the JC story in swtor, is that… so much of what they say, it’s- it could make sense. it’s a logical argument. an awful one, but a logical, rational one. we must be the strongest army we can be, we must be punished for what we have wrought on taris, we should take a stand against the corruption of the hutts. we have power, and we should use it, even if in using it we betray everything we once claimed we fight for. it doesn’t need for there to be literal mind control - just a skilled and charismatic sith, versed in the arts of conversation and manipulation, and a handful of powerful but desperate jedi.

that is the terrifying seductiveness of the dark side. because to them, from them? it makes sense. it’s understandable. it’s reasonable. it’s awful, because you can see just how easily they fell into these modes of thought, how appealing the logic is, how comforting the ideas are. the road to hell is paved with good intentions; that’s how we got here in the first place.

and the same could have been true for bastila and malak. because what she says on top of the rakatan temple, in her confrontation, is true- she was unappreciated, she was the council’s lackey, revan was used and thrown away and lied to, and in revan’s place, she would have been, too. all malak needed to do was talk his way around her insecurities, to seduce her - not with magical mind control, but with the idea that if she swore allegiance to him, then her work would not go unappreciated, unrewarded. that her power would be recognised, that she would be recognised. that she’d have a place. that she’d be free.

but for some reason (either because bioware are stupid and lazy or malak is stupid and lazy) they just slapped some torture porn in, and called it good. bastila flipflops from light to dark and back again after revan smacks her around enough that it undoes malak’s magic brainwashing, and we’re all good.

but. it wouldn’t be bioware if i wasn’t complaining about it, would it.

i keep seeing other people’s asks where anons are like “is it ok that i’m really mad at jen for leaving?” or “it’s NOT OK that people are mad at jen b/c it’s her life yada yada” but there’s no problem at all feeling however you feel – feeling betrayed or hurt or bitter or mad is fine. their YOUR feelings. nothing anyone is feeling is wrong or not ok.

the only thing that matters is that you don’t direct your anger AT jen. as long as you aren’t badgering her on social media, tagging her in rude af posts, harassing her… then my dudes… feel free to be as salty as you wanna be ok? make an anti-jen tumblr for all i fuckin care. not like it’ll make a lick of difference to her. i promise you she ain’t searching for jen hate.

(and i mean, also don’t direct your jen hate at folks who are clearly very pro-jen… that’s a dick move too. basically if you’re mad, confine it to your own blog posts instead of bugging people in their ask box about it.)

Y'all realize you can dislike something/someone just cause it doesn’t vibe with you, right? Like doing 726382847282377 hours of research to make things look problematic and telling other people that they’re bad for liking it isn’t necessary at all

Friendly reminder that Klaus’ letter was preceded by “that is the beginning of another story”, which is meant to highlight key components in the letter, such as Klaus wanting to thank Caroline in person. This suggests that they do eventually meet up, and that their meeting is not a mere fleeting chapter in their lives.

This isn’t a nod to their friendship. They’ve never been just friends. This is a promise of a romantic future.

There is no doubt in my mind that if Caroline and Klaus were to ever reunite (and according to the finale they do) that Klaus would want something romantic from her. And if you believe otherwise, you’re kidding yourself.

However long it takes is a throwback to a romantic scene. A romantic scene that suggests a promise of a romantic future between the characters. This isn’t mere banter between friends. Because Caroline has never been just a friend to Klaus. It’s a promise of a romantic future.

“that is the beginning of another story”
“however long it takes”

Eventually this story will be realized. And it isn’t a story about friendship.

I really want a sterek 10 Things I Hate About You AU where Stiles is the super smart but socially awkward and abrasive step-brother of the beautiful Allison Argent.

Scott is head-over-heels in love with Allison but Chris and the Sheriff (yes, they’re together and the best dads in the world) have a rule that Allison is only allowed to date when Stiles does. So, Isaac comes up with the brilliant idea of getting someone equally as awkward and abrasive: Derek Hale.

(All of this drama could have been avoided if Scott had talked to Stiles about his crush on Allison, Stiles would have talked to his dads and convinced them to lift the dating rule; no drama. But clearly, Scott and Isaac didn’t think it through.)

At first, Stiles is suspicious and isn’t interested at all; he constantly turns down Derek’s attempts at flirting, thinking they’re practical jokes and set ups for pranks, but then over time Derek begins to break down his walls and Stiles breaks down Derek’s.

Stiles begins to fall in love with Derek and Derek with Stiles, but it all falls apart when the conspiracy to get Derek to date Stiles so Scott can get with Allison is unveiled.Stiles, brokenhearted and betrayed runs away and Derek has to prove that he actually does like Stiles.

Allison tries to comfort her step-brother, but can only do so much. And, when all hope is lost, Stiles finds Derek standing in his front yard, soaking wet but come to tell him the truth: yes, he was paid to take Stiles out, but none of it was pretend, all emotions he had for Stiles were genuine.

They start again and go out on a proper date.
