i hate political parties

I’m honestly so fucking mad about the DUP deal. How fucking dare they. How dare they underfund our public services, cut benefits, and take money out of the hands of the poorest people in this country because ‘theres no magic money tree’, yet there’s a spare 1.5billion lying around for the DUP deal if it means they can hold onto power over a public they’ve repeatedly failed

Here is this.

If you voted for Clinton, I don’t hate you.
If you voted third party, I don’t hate you.
If you voted for Trump, I don’t hate you.

Given the choices, you went with who you thought would be best for the country. Regardless of whether I agree with you or not, I’m not going to hate you. That seems defeatist to me. That’s the sort of rhetoric that is just going to fuel more hatred and anger.

So, I don’t hate you. This election was tough - every election is tough - and I believe you put just as much thought and weight into your decision as I did into mine.

And if you chose not to vote, I won’t hate you either. I’ve been in that position. I understand.

In that same manner, I hope that you would not hate me based solely on the person for whom I voted, regardless of who they may be. Hatred does us no good. It will only make things worse.

So you guys can completely ignore this but I just wanted to address something that has kinda been on my mind. So on tumblr Ive seen some anti-republican things… this kinda bugs me because my family is primarily republican (Dont come at me with hate please). Just because my family is republican it does not mean that my family is a bunch of racist homophobes. I for one can vouch that they most certainly are not. Yes there are racist, homophobic republicans but I personally don’t think that every republican should be stereotyped as so. This also goes for those who are stereotyping democrats. America is filled with SO much hatred right now and its honestly really upsetting. I see sooo much hate towards each political party and I don’t really know why people are so quick to stereotype/say nasty things about people with differing political values. Idk if this is just me but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Okay thats all I had to say but again, please dont come at me with hate….

I’m disappointed in the number of people who think it’s okay to bully people over how they voted.

Especially with people who voted third party, since they could easily turn the argument back on you and point out that the 2 party fuckfest we get stuck with every election cycle is partially the responsibility of people perpetuating that mentality through bullying exactly like this.

The only vote you control is your own. You can disagree with other people’s choices, but you don’t get to tell them to fuck themselves because they stuck to their beliefs and voted accordingly.

So…this is actually really well done??

(WR, wildrose. PC, progressive conservative. AP, alberta party. NDP, new democratic party. LIB, liberal party. GRN, green party. YOU, what I said.)

In my opinion, a green/labour coalition would be the best thing for this country.

Green with their strong leftist ideology would help influence labour back to being a proper left wing party again, whilst labour with their long term experience in politics would help the greens to implement their ideology in practical terms.

That’s if the green party don’t essentially get banned by the conservatives in the next four years for being ‘extremist’.

I hope that when you read Tumblr posts about the UK General Election you will remember how Tumblr has a tendency to roll out relatively extreme and unaccepting views, that are all very well online but not in real life; and for you to therefore take a lot of these posts with a pinch of salt.

I hope that you realise there are many of us in the UK who are very happy with the outcome, because Conservatives over Labour means a stronger economy, and a stronger economy means in the long run better welfare systems, better benefits (for those who need them KEY POINT HERE), and far more jobs. But equally, please don’t overlook that there ARE people who are very distressed that this has happened, as for those long-term benefits there have to be short-term cuts which affect many people and are therefore unpopular. Quite honestly, both sides have valid points.

I hope you acknowledge people voted left-wing for legitimate reasons that were very important to them, and that people voted right-wing for also legitimate reasons that were important to them. Whatever your view, whether you think the UK system should be by Proportional Representation or First Past the Post, the Conservatives got the most votes in both systems, and it is incredibly important that is understood and respected by everyone.

But overall, I hope that you are respectful of other people’s views. Tumblr has a tendency to abuse those who don’t agree with their ideologies and that’s wrong. The UK General Election result was a result of Democracy. We voted, and a majority Government was elected because of it. PLEASE remember that. It’s vastly important for us, the next generation, to understand and accept other people’s views - and not just say “Your opinion is different from mine so is therefore wrong”.

I'm not saying I support Trump, but telling people that you hate them and want them to unfollow you because they support a political party completely demotes free thinking.

you know what that is such a load of bullshit and i’m tired of having to explain why. donald trump is a rapist who wants to enforce punishment against immigrants, against people who are LGBTQ+, against women who want to have abortions… this is a man who has made slurs on the disabled into jokes in order to further his self-righteous image. he has cheated his way to the top of the business market by not paying the people who worked for him. he is hateful against people of color, and views himself as better than everyone else. so yes, if someone supports those ideologies, then they are a complete piece of shit, and i have every right to say that i hate them. this has absolutely nothing to do with political party… i have democratic friends, republican friends, third party friends, even friends who don’t care at all……. this is about human morals and ethics, and if you can’t see that then you truly are blind.
