Jon: the world benefit greatly from the cease of your insistent banter
oh man guys it’s so hot right now in southern california. Like no cloud in the sky, sun high and blazing, it’s barely 7 am and it’s already 80 degrees Fahrenheit, kind of heat. It’s beginning.
And tomorrow we’re hitting triple digits *cries*
I hate summer. What does this heat benefit? you can’t do anything comfortable outside unless you wanna burn, your garden plants get cooked, your poor pets get overheated, traffic becomes more hellish than regular. *sigh*
At least it “cools” down somewhat around 5pm ( the breeze starts kicking in and thankfully not a too hot one). I should enjoy this before real summer heat hits.
At least i have good heat tolerance, but i still hate it.
with my pixelling some of my steps merge together so there aren’t any clear cut stages tbh, all of them are a little fluffy around the edges! generally when i pixel (and paint) i make save points (duplicating the layer, hiding the original and continuing on top) because i’m really paranoid that i’ll wake up and realise i hate it all and won’t have any/enough ctrl-z’s.
oh i also work on 1 layer at a time (minus the save points), if that helps???
sketch & cleanup: i sketch and clean the lines at the same time. a lot of the time i’ll get ‘jaggies’ in my line work and i just don’t like looking at them so i’ll go in and take them out right after i make the line. this isn’t probably the most efficient way to do it but most of what i pixel is fairly small scale so it doesn’t take an enormous amount of time i guess???
fill & flats: ok so i fill in the drawing (fill in lines i guess?? ?) and put down all the flat colours. um this isn’t really hard at all swea TS um i don’t generally know what colours i want until this stage. i know some people pick out colours first which is prob the best way to do it. but i can’t really visualise what i want with little palette dots?? i end up just changing the colours anyway.
shading & tweaking: i do this on top of the fill n flats and pick out colours as i go. so if i need a darker colour i just go pick one out, if i want to limit my palette (i always do) then i’ll just try and find a colour i can use to shade multiple colours or which can act as both a base and shading colour (swet does this make sense).
shade and tweak at the same time, so i’ll put down some shadow colours and also colour over the lines and change them so they look ok with whats around it. um at the end i just give everything i once over and see if anything else needs changing!
Ohh o i cant believe you have to go outside in minus degrees!!! The coldest it gets in my part of aust is like 10°C in the winter and thats only for nighttime temps Do you have to wear layers&layers of padding?
ahhh luck you! yeah it can go down to -40 with the windshield factor and I mean kinda? you just adapt. I usually wear a moose knuckle coat in the winter, jeans, and my chelsea hunter boots (or my adirondack uggs when it snows a lot) with the wool insole, gloves and a scarf
yesterday when it was -18 I wore a thin hoodie, leather jacket, jeans and vans idk you kinda get use to the temperature tbh but I can never get use to the heat :( I hate how hot summer gets since we get both extremes of weather
i had an idea for a fanfic centered around nathan come out of the blue today, let me know if you’d read it if i actually do it.
initially, i fucking hated this rich kid. but replaying it and paying attention to his actions, i realized he is such a great character. not saying that it justifies his choices or that he’s the best person out there, just that he’s one of the most layered ones out there. (nathan is like an onion, LAYERS)
might seem a bit random to some of you since my blog is max trash, pricefield and chasefield stuff, but i love nathan’s potential as a character.
basically, i believe that nathan self-harms. he’s always wearing that fucking red jacket (literally wherever he goes) in order to cover his scars and he’s clinically depressed. in this hypothetical fic, i would address that part of him more.
i feel like victoria always tries to reach out to him, but he pushes her away, and gets irrationally angry at her when she does.
maybe one day max walks in on him cutting himself and her, being the forever empath, tries to stop him.
I know what went wrong, the fabric is too thin and prone to tearing to hold eyelets. But I’ve used this fabric as a base for several foundation garments because I felt the weave made it durable, and they’ve been absolutely fine.
I thought three layers (a layer wrapped over a quilted strip) would be fine. I’ve had issues with metal eyelets in the past so I shrugged that failure off and decided to hand sew them, only to have this happen….
I’ve never had hand stitched eyelets tear out of a garment. Even garments made from a layer of organza and chiffon which are the most delicate fabrics. Seriously wtf.
if any of ya’ll wanna know what game design finals are like, it basically consists of a conglomerate of students all taking the same course and yelling angrily at computers while simultaneously yelling at each other for help. and it usually goes along something like this:
“oh my god i fucked up the sun in unreal how dO I FIX IT” “WHY IS THE MESH BROKEN” “where are the target layers???? why don’t i have target layers??? guYS WHY DON’T I HAVE TARGET LAYERS????” “WHY IS THE MESH PURPLE” “what is even going on with my uv maps what the fuck is this shit” “WHY ARE MY NORMAL MAPS ORANGE” “I HATE TREES” “i never wanna look at this shit ever again” “are you even going to have time to–” “no” “FUCK THIS. FUCK YOU. I’M DONE WITH THIS SHIT.” “GUYS MY MOUSE IS BROKEN” “did you try unplugging it and then plugging it back in?” “YES” “well you’re fucked.” “THANK YOU CRAZYBUMP THANK YOU GOD” “OH MY GOD I MADE IT TRANSPARENT IT WORKED” “hELP OH NO I FUCKED IT UP WHAT DID I DO” “it’s 8am i’m done i give up well guys we tried goodbye i’ll see you in 2 hours”
