Korean Hip-Hop imitates mainstream American Hip-Hop by stealing the concepts, fashion, music, and attitude (yes, misogyny included). Korean artists strive to be as close to the media’s idea of Blackness as possible, most of them copying each other to the point where I can’t tell some Korean rappers apart cuz their music and style is relatively the same.
So it’s really interesting to see Kpop and K Hip-Hop fans talk about how Koreans do it better, especially since there’s no creative movement behind the genre’s presence in South Korea. They latched on to Hip-Hop for the same reason most white people do. It was a way to profit off the world’s desire to be Black without having to live as a Black person.
We’ve been saying it for the longest time but I’ll say it again. Y’all only like K Hip-Hop over ours bcuz you hate Black people and/or fetishize East Asians. That is the only reason. Listening to K Hip-Hop gives you all the things you like seeing come from Black American culture, without you having to actually see Black people.
vader’s cape – of course its the best. its vader. its black. flawless style and execution. also, theme music. ∞/10
lando’s cape – daring cut and color worn by the most stylish man in the galaxy. and what a clasp. 10/10
phasma’s cape – stunning. incredible. its black. its armorweave. its got a tasteful red edge. and on those shoulders!! my only complaint is that it looks a bit like a tarp up close. 9/10
krennic’s cape – nothing special, but its a good solid cape in capable cape-wearing hands. 7.5/10
padme’s white cape thing – i can’t tell if that’s cape or not. half the shit she wore looked like a cape? why is she defined by her fucking outfits i hate george lucas? damn i keep looking at her tits im so fuckin gay. anyway it looks like a beach towel but other than that, a nice cape. a bit like avant-garde LL Bean fashion. 7/10
the various capes of bail organa – i wish i liked these better. you’re a great man bail but i’m not such a fan of your capes. all dashingly cut, but the dull and drab military-esque colors are heartbreaking. 6.5/10
dooku’s cape – plain from a distance, weird texture up close. nice clasp though. 5/10
grievous’s cape – messy and uncontained, but at least it matches its owner. 4/10
boba fett’s cape – terrible, like the rest of him. 1/10
honorable mention – grand admiral thrawn’s cape, lost in the abyss of the eu.
other notes – robes were not included, obviously, if it has sleeves it aint a cape
It’s hilarious, laughable, pathetic even, how love could either build you or ruin you and yet knowing this, people still chase after it like the rise of golden light beyond the horizon, or the last drop of dew in twilight, or the flutter of that one coral blue butterflies in buttercup paved meadow.
It’s frightening, daunting, startling even, how love makes your hands clammy like you’re being interviewed by the very man who founded the big shot company you’ve applied to.
And it’s utterly, impossibly, unbelievable how love comes in many ways like a bump and a spill of coffee on crisp white shirt, or a brush of hands upon a dusty leather brown book spine or an envelope obtained from a mailbox on one’s way back from grocery shopping.
Well, that’s exactly what’s happening to Min Yoongi, second son to one of the well-known elite families in Seoul. Most of the time, he couldn’t care less about family matters; business deals, dinner with alien faces and empty conversations─ those things he’s entitled to attend with mildly bored eyes and champagne he’ll never finish in one hand. But this particular matter, he can’t just not care. One, because it directly concerns him (as if the cursive letter of his name engraved in bold black against crisp white isn’t enough indication). Two, because it’s from a certain someone in his family who he’s fond of.
Is written on the top of the not so neat written paper.
What bothers me the most about racism is the fact that there’s no valid reason for black people to be hated. If we had oppressed other races and did evil things to them then I would understand but history wise as far as I’m concerned we NEVER have. We have always been the victim. We purely have just existed, we are the original race every race has came from us. The hate we receive from whites, Asians, Hispanics/latinos, arabs basically non-black people just doesn’t make sense. What have we actually done to anyone except for exist? But don’t get me wrong I’m not looking for validation or expecting love from non blacks. I’m just stating facts. Black people since the beginning of time being the first people on this planet have just existed. Anyways I love black people from around the world( Afro diaspora). I love our history our identity our creations I will always be proud to be black and defend and represent my people. Being black is a blessing.
“But here, condensed into one 10-minute span, I recognized the sinking feeling of being betrayed by a white woman you’ve stanned for, loved, liked, or even simply been mildly okay with. It’s that feeling when you find out that, after enjoying her in Easy A and finding her bubbly personality lovable, Emma Stone was fine with playing an Asian woman in Aloha. Maybe you went through it with Scarlett Johansson when you found out that she’d accepted the lead role in Ghost in the Shell, an adaptation of a Japanese anime series. It’s the betrayal you feel the first time you realize that women who are labeled pop-culture feminist icons, like Tina Fey, are perfectly fine with gunning for blackface laughs at your expense, or blaming your idols for white girls’ lack of self-esteem. (Beyoncé is many things, but she is not the reason you hate your body.)
For some, it’s the 53 percent of white women who voted for Trump, or finding out that the leader of your local NAACP chapter is literally a white woman in disguise. For others it’s finding out that Taylor Swift’s been coasting on America’s fear of black men for years. I feel it every time I realize there’s a white women on my Twitter timeline who will tweet in earnest for Planned Parenthood while sparing only a perfunctory tweet for Black Lives Matter or the Standing Rock Sioux.
The thought that white people may see you as no more than a body for use or a culture from which you can pick and choose what you like while discarding the rest and those who invented it? The idea that a white woman you see as your potential friend or ally will eventually prove to be looking out for her own best interests over yours or the greater good? These are concepts that the people of color watching this film are intimately familiar with.
White women have always played, and continue to play, a large part in upholding the supremacy. They have not held the best interests of people of color.”
In light of my post trying to spread some harmless positivity towards white, straight, and male groups, and the hate I’m getting over it, I feel this needs to be said.
EVERYONE HAS PROBLEMS. YOUR RACE, YOUR GENDER, AND YOUR SEXUALITY DOES NOT MAKE YOUR PROBLEMS ANY LESS THAN SOMEONE ELSE WHO HAS DIFFERENT RACE, GENDER AND SEXUALITY.
WHITES HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE PROUD OF THEMSELVES AND THEIR CULTURE AS MUCH AS NON-WHITES
STRAIGHTS HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO HAVE PRIDE AS NON-STRAIGHTS.
MEN HAVE JUST AS MANY RIGHTS AS WOMEN.
If you’ve caught yourself saying any of the following, please reconsider your life choices:
“All white/straight/male people should die.”
“Women deserve equal rights!” “Oh but she shouldn’t be punished so harshly for x crime because she’s not a man.”
“Men can’t be raped/women can’t be racist.”
“Black people/non-white people can’t be racist.” “You can’t be racist to white people.”
“You can’t be sexist to men.”
“Straight people don’t matter.”
“Your opinion doesn’t matter because you’re white/straight/a male”
If you have said any of these things, I hate to break it to you buddy, but you’re either Racist, Sexist/Misogynist, or Heterophobic (for lack of a better word).
Lets stop this toxic mind set. Equality is not thinking this way about anyone.
“I hate black people” VS “I hate white people.”
“I hate gay people” VS “I hate straight people.”
“I hate men” VS “I hate women.”
THEY ARE THE SAME FUCKING THING. ONE THING IS NOT OKAY TO SAY AND THE OTHER NOT OKAY TO SAY. THEY ARE BOTH NOT OKAY TO SAY. YOU SHOULDN’T SAY THIS AT ALL. PERIOD.
Don’t shit on people for spreading black/non-white positivity
Don’t shit on people for spreading gay/non-straight positivity
Don’t shit on people for spreading female positivity
BUT ALSO DON’T
Don’t shit on people for spreading white positivity
Don’t shit on people for spreading straight positivity
Don’t shit on people for spreading male positivity
There is no excuse for this toxic behavior. If you can’t grasp that NONE of this is okay, then you have a serious problem.
You are the problem.
It’s not that fucking hard to learn how to be nice to each other. You wanna be equal? Start by stopping hate based on these things.
And one last note, I don’t care who they are, or what they’ve said. Under no circumstances is it ever okay to tell someone to kill themselves for voicing an opinion. IT IS NEVER OKAY TO TELL ANOTHER LIVING BREATHING HUMAN BEING TO GO KILL THEMSELVES OR TO MAKE DEATH THREATS TO THEM JUST BECAUSE YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THEM.
Wake the fuck up.
AND A DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT MEANT TO PUT ANYONE DOWN. IF YOU FIND YOURSELF OFFENDED BY IT, RETHINK YOUR OFFENCE AND TRY AGAIN. IF ANYTHING THIS IS TO EDUCATE PEOPLE.
I don’t know if I’m bisexual or I’m only sexually attracted to girls and it’s so confusing and I hate it and literally I don’t know what to do because so many boys hit me up but no one wants a relationship with me and idk if I want one with this girl I’m talking to and idk guys. Ugh
