Title: The Perks of Being a Rich Kid
Pairings/Characters: Gen fic, Chloe & Alix
Summary: Chloe and Alix bond after getting sent to the principal’s office

The Perks of Being a Rich Kid

Useful bit of information that Chloé learned today: there was a limit to how much trouble her last name was capable of getting her out of.

Which, seriously, how ridiculous was that? What was the sense of being the daughter of the most powerful man in Paris if she wasn’t going to be totally immune to punishment? She tried to explain that to her teacher but he didn’t seem to appreciate it very much because here Chloé was, getting sent to the principal’s office with a bag full of extra credit homework that was going to take her hours to do.

Sabrina really picked a horrible day to be home sick with the flu. Chloé had been doing her nails during history class this entire quarter and now she had to write a whole paper by Thursday.

To be fair, Chloé kinda toed the line a little close today. Not that she’d ever admit that to anyone other than her father who was going to love an explanation for the mess she’d gotten herself into. That was going to be a fun conversation. She wasn’t sure if her justifiable hatred for Marinette Dupain-Cheng was going to be enough to let her off the hook, and that was the real travesty of the day. Because seriously, this was all Marinette’s fault.

But whatever. At least Chloé got her revenge. Definitely worth potentially losing her credit card privileges over.

M. Damocles was busy scolding a student in his office while another three sat right outside the door awaiting their own lectures. Chloé snorted when she realized that one of them was Alix who was crouched over her handheld and growling at the video game she was playing while she waited. Well, that explained why she wasn’t in class last period.

It was funny that people complained so much about Chloé (almost) never getting in trouble because of who her father was. Alix got sent to the principal’s office at least four times a week and only ever left with a slap on the wrist because of who her father was.

Figures. M. Kubdel gave a monster of a donation to the school last year.

Drowned in moonlight, strangled by her own bra.

The thing that is getting to me the most about news of Carrie Fisher’s autopsy report is not the results themselves, but the way the media is handling it. Like it’s a Gotcha moment—like somehow we were tricked into thinking she was a better person than she actually was.

And that is profoundly bullshit.

Carrie was open about being an addict. Her opening line from her iconic stand up show (and book by the same name) “Wishful Drinking” was quite literally, “Hi, I’m Carrie Fisher, and I’m an alcoholic.”

She talked at length and in often brutal depth about her problems with substance abuse, her compulsive self destructive tendencies, and her dependencies to both illegal and prescription drugs. She wrote about it in her books, she talked about it on talk shows. She made an entire comedic stand up performance out of it, detailing the lengths she went to in order to try and regain some semblance of safety and normalcy in her life.

She was brutally honest that every single day was a struggle for sanity after years and years of attempting to self medicate a mental illness that for most of her life was mistaken for feckless lack of self control.

You know how they way “Religion is the opiate of the masses?” Well I took masses of opiates religiously! -Wishful Drinking

She was bright, and beautiful and bold about it. And she didn’t have to be.

Carrie Fisher didn’t have to stand there and take the shitstorm of criticism people launched at her for decades, let alone turn it into humor. She didn’t. She didn’t owe anyone outwith her immediate family an explanation for her erratic behavior over the years, nor the flack she caught for it. (Think of all the male actors in Hollywood who are in and out of rehab centers so quickly they could harness the revolving doors as a wind turbine. Then tell me the media press about her life and now her death are fair.)

But she did it anyway, because she knew it was important. And she took those bright lights of Hollywood shining down on her like a ruthless, malevolent child holding a magnifying glass under the sun—and she turned that merciless heat and pointed it at things that mattered, often at the expense of herself, opening herself up to ridicule and the severe cruelty of others who lambasted her for everything, ranging from her weight, her mental illness or her audacity to simply grow old.

Is it tragic that her addiction likely cost her her life? Yes, of course it is. Does it invalidate any of her achievements? The strength and vibrancy with which she lived her life and touched the lives of millions around her for the better?

“I call people sometimes hoping not only that they’ll verify the fact that I’m alive but that they’ll also, however indirectly, convince me that being alive is an appropriate state for me to be in. Because sometimes I don’t think it’s such a bright idea. Is it worth the trouble it takes trying to live life so that someday you get something worthwhile out of it, instead of it almost always taking worthwhile things out of you?”

-The Princess Diarist

Carrie Fisher mattered, her voice mattered. The things that she said and did, mattered. They still matter. And they are no less true and poignant in the light of these revelations.

Addiction is a disease. It’s a dysfunction of the brain’s reward system which requires constant management and care and often goes hand in hand with other mental health disorders. It is not simply a question of willpower or the perceived lack thereof. And while sobriety is to be praised and encouraged—of course it is, of course it absolutely unquestionably is—you cannot possibly know what may cause a person to slip or to feel like they can’t cope without that crutch. And shame on anyone who says it was therefore deserved.

Shame and my heartfelt wishes that you never go through the things that can lead to serious addiction. Or that you are ever abandoned, derided and regarded as less than human because of it and your death turned into a smear campaign against your memory for the sake of a sensationalist headline.

Yes. Carrie Fisher was an addict, she had drug dependency problems related to her mental health. There was a time she kept it hidden, but after she made the decision to come out about it, she stuck by that decision and became a champion, for herself and everyone like her who struggles. Because she never wanted anyone to suffer like she did in order to get help. And she did it with as much grace and humility as she could manage—and a whole lot more indignity, immodesty, crass humor and love as well. Because that’s who she was and she cared.

And that’s a hell of a lot more than can be said for those crowing over her death like it’s just deserts.

Fuck you.

People do not exist to stand up to your demands of a perfect ideal of humanity. You do not get to place that burden on the shoulders of someone then tear them apart when they fall under that weight—famous or otherwise.

Fuck you and your whole pretense at moral piety and the horse you rode in on.

Carrie Fisher was not your unproblematic fave. She was in fact extremely problematic, and no one knew that better than she did.

“I heard someone say once that many of us only seem able to find heaven by backing away from hell. And while the place that I’ve arrived at in my life may not precisely be everyone’s idea of heaven, I could swear sometimes—if I’m quiet enough—I can hear the angels sing. Either that or I fucked up my medication again.”

-Carrie Fisher, Wishful Drinking.

Hello - Newt x Reader

Prompt: A little drabble! Soulmate AU where everyone is born with the first words their soulmate says to them tattooed on their wrist. Reader is completely fed up with her quest to find her soulmate, as the only hint she has is the incredibly vague black letters that have always been stamped across her wrist.

Warnings: Swearing, bullying, use of alcohol, harassment and unwanted advances

God, you hated your soulmate tattoo.

What sort of a soulmate tattoo was “hello”? You had detested it your entire life. What vague-ass higher power had decided when they gave you your tattoo to stop at “hello”? How would you know for sure when you met your soulmate? Couldn’t they have elaborated a little bit? Just a few more words? A proper sentence that you could actually recognize your soulmate with? But no, you were stuck with the most common greeting in the English language tattooed permanently into your skin. Hello. What absolute bullshit.

Every time someone greeted you with that simple phrase, your eyes would narrow, you would square your shoulders, and you would spit back the most distinct and unmistakable response you possibly could. You were not going to be the soulmate couple that had “hello” on both of your wrists. Your lucky, lucky soulmate probably had something ridiculous, like “Whatever you say,” or “Did you know that a hippopotamus’s sweat is red?” because you absolutely had to stand out, and you made sure that your replies to “hello” always did. There was no other way to be sure that anyone and everyone who said “hello” to you wasn’t your soulmate.

What a useless tattoo.

All throughout your school years at Ilvermorny, you were completely embarrassed to show people your tattoo. Unfortunately, when your classmates found out, they had great fun sending people you had never spoken to before up to say “hello” to you.

Your reaction was always hilarious, so they kept doing it. Your responses ranged from “Go fuck yourself,” to “Nice try guys, but I’ve already spoken with her before,” to straight up punching one student right in the jaw when he got a little too friendly with his hands as he delivered his “hello”.

You started to feel a little bad for your actual soulmate as your replies increased in hostility. They probably had a particularly colorful quote of yours. “Go to hell,” perhaps, or maybe “Who the fuck put you up to it this time?”

When you graduated, your defensive nature had thankfully melted a little. You had switched to solely offering people fun animal facts whenever they said “hello” to you, and it was far less stressful. “Seahorse mates hold each other’s tails so they don’t lose each other,” was a favorite of yours, as was “Cows have best friends.”

One evening, you were at a bar with your roommates Queenie and Tina, and you were in no mood for advances from anyone. You had decided to date, as many people with soulmates do, just to pass time while you waited for your soulmate to arrive, but your recent significant other had found their soulmate and left you in the dust. It was incredibly depressing, and you just really wanted a drink.

A man waltzed up to you, sliding into the chair beside you and offering a hand to shake. “Hello,” he said with a grin. You looked over at him, as annoyed as you were drunk, and reached out to flip his arm over and look at his wrist.

“Alright, let’s get this over with I’m not in the mood to think of a fun fact,” you grumbled, pulling back his sleeve to look at his wrist.

It wasn’t really with disappointment that you read the words “I’m so sorry I ran over your dog,” in black ink on his wrist, and you patted his hand drunkenly.

“Good luck with that one, buddy,” you slurred, getting to your feet and heading toward the door. He blinked after you, bewildered, and then returned to his drink.

Such was a usual encounter for you, and by the time Tina dragged a certain magizooligist into your home, you were sick and tired of your goddamn animal facts.

“Queenie, (y/n)!” Tina called out to you. You peeked your head around the corner where you were helping Queenie mend dresses, and you saw with a pang of confusion that Tina had brought two men along with her.

Queenie voiced your amazement, grinning and chirping “Teenie! You brought men home!”

You approached your friend, not bothering with the fact that you were clad in only a slip, and you blinked at her in disbelief. “Who are they?”

“This is a no-maj, and this is Mr. Scamander. He’s responsible for his injuries,” Tina said wearily, pointing her finger at the sweaty, overwhelmed man who offered you a disoriented half-smile before fixing his gaze back on Queenie, who giggled.

Mr. Scamander gave you a little wave. “Hello,” he said.

You let out a slow puff of air, your frustration resurfacing as your hand shot forward to grab his wrist. “Merlin’s Beard, just show me the goddamn tattoo,” you grumbled without thinking. You were in total shock when you slipped his sleeve back and found yourself face-to-face with your own words.

You looked up at him with wide eyes, and he looked just as startled. A hush fell over the room, and you felt your face grow hot. “Sorry about that,” you mumbled apologetically, unable to drop your gaze from his.

“That’s quite alright,” he said softly, his lips twitching upward in a small smile. “It’s quite the conversation piece,” he teased, and you found yourself chuckling.

“You had better be worth all the trouble my ridiculous tattoo has caused,” you teased back. The other three people in the room were watching the two of you, completely taken aback.

“I think for the most part people usually find me to be more trouble than I am worth,” he confessed, his eyes sparkling.

You dropped his hand at last, your face red and your heart pounding with embarrassment. “We’ll see about that,”

This is such a silly idea but I had to write it down so here u go

MASTERLIST

Requested: No, but @illuminateshawn and I live for drunk, festival Mendes in that red shirt from Amsterdam.

Word count: 4,947

“Can I have three large beers, thanks” I smiled, handing the girl in front of me my money. The sun was burning into my back, heating up my entire body slowly.

“I just love this weather” my friend Julia said. She closed her eyes, tilting her head back to fully enjoy the warm rays of sun burning in her face.

“Me too” I agreed, looking around the festival filled with drunk people having fun everywhere.

To me, this was what summer was all about; heat, friends, music and beers. Actually, going to festivals was my happy place, I loved the whole idea of just letting go and enjoy yourself as much as possible; meeting new people and staying up until the early hours when the sun rose again.

“Girl, don’t look now but that guy… he’s looking again” Julia laughed, taking of her black sunglasses.

Just while we’re on the subject of spelling and grammar, I do appreciate when people point things out to me. Sometimes I do make mistakes, sometimes it’s autocorrect. Other times it’s a pun (forever the curse of a pun lover) and it goes over other people’s heads. Other times I’m writing something off the cuff and in rapid fire and I’ll miss things here and there in the quick scan I do before moving on to the next thing I need to do on here so it feels like I am not ignoring people.

But here’s the thing, people sending me “wow you’re an editor and you type like that? lol” messages? Is a dick move for several reasons and I’ll tell you why…

First of all: I am not at work when I am on tumblr. I might as well be my second full time job at this point, but I am not in actual fact on the clock when I am here.

I am not at work when I am texting someone unless I am texting them as a client. I am not at work when I am having conversations with people online, unless they are my client.

You can correct my grammar or my spelling if you want, but don’t make some derisive comment about me being a writer and an editor and not being able to type and make it into a thing like “wow I guess  could be an editor too if it’s that easy” just because you’re being pedantic with someone you are having an informal conversation with.

It takes more than the ability to spell and get your grammar right 100% of the time to be an editor. It is not an easy job to be an editor. Which is why when I am not at work, my typing goes to absolute shit because I don’t have the excess energy to expend on that level of concentration when I am not working. Or sometimes just plain don’t give a shit. Like, I do not care. My typing is imperfect when I am talking rapid fire, sometimes with multiple people over multiple platforms at once. Woopdiedoo.

And when you’re mean about it? When you say? “I can’t help it, I know it doesn’t matter but it annoys me when people can’t spell”?

You’re not only admitting that you don’t care enough to regulate behavior which you know is rude to others, you are also being ableist and quite possibly racist as well.

Not everyone finds it easy to write, and I don’t mean that in the creative sense, I mean that in the very basic sense that some people with learning difficulties struggle to read and write.

This does not make them less intelligent than you. It does not make them less brilliant than you. It does not mean they give any less of a shit about something important than you do, or are any less deserving of your respect and civility than some asshole who is an asshole but who knows how to use an em dash correctly.

I’ve dropped clients who had good grammar and spelling, but I just plain couldn’t deal with their attitude, and stuck with the people apologizing over and over for how much work I have to do on their manuscript because they know. They know they’re not as good as everyone else and the social stigma around it is so overwhelming it undermines everything they will ever do.

Other people may also not come from the same culture as you, speak the same languages as you, or have had access to the same opportunities you have had. If their way of communicating is understood but doesn’t conform the views of intelligence, quite frankly instilled by White Nationalism and Colonization and you tear them down for not conforming to your limited world view of propriety? They’re not the problem here, you are.

Someone’s ability to spell does not indicate their value or worth, or even the time they have put into something. I see so many rebuttals on this hellsite and on other places, where people go out of their way to invalidate the words of other people simply because they mixed up “your” and “you’re”, even though it doesn’t stop their meaning from being understood (and honestly it’s most likely auto-correct and you know it), but hey I guess it’s just way easier to tear someone down based on an arbitrary and false idea of assigned intelligence and societal worth based on their use of English grammar than it is to come up with an actual rebuttal. Boy aren’t you a hero.

So just…like…I get it, I get you see something and it’s incorrect and part of you may niggle at it and yes there are times when “perfection” is not only expected but required and spelling and grammar is important (or else I wouldn’t have the job I am very good at). But just, I dunno, quit being a dick to people because you’re a pedantic asshole who wants to feel superior.

At the end of the day we’re all just sentient atoms hurtling towards the same unknown. The least you can do is be kind.

It was no secret that Derek had a soft spot for you, it was why you got away with so much. As soon as he’d turned you, you wrapped yourself around his protective instinct, making it easy to get what you wanted.

It started innocently, freshly turned, thunderstorm firing overhead, you’d hung onto Derek like a koala bear. But then it stuck, if you needed comfort you’d seek out Derek, who convinced himself it was better him that Scott or one of the betas. Then Stiles pointed out all the other things, batting eyes, pouting, the fake bad moods until you delightedly got Derek to give in.

Which was how the “detox war” started. Unfortunately for your alpha, his instincts screamed that pushing you away would mean pushing you out of the pack. Completely unaware that it was having the opposite effect.

“That’s enough!”, Scott yelled, “You two have been going at it for weeks and it’s starting to get annoying”

“It’s just starting?”, Stiles let out

Scott glared at his best friend before he could continue to chastise Theo and I. Ever since he tried to have Scott killed, I’ve wanted nothing more than to bury him. In the end, he did help us defeat the Dread Doctors, but that didn’t mean I’d just start trusting him.

“She started all of this. It’s not my fault!”, Theo yelled back

“Just like it wasn’t your fault Scott died!?”, I countered

“How many times do I have to apologize? I’m so-”

“Your apologies don’t mean shi-”

“Enough!”, Scott yelled again, his eyes beginning to glow. I knew better then to start yelling again, but this argument was far from over. No one should trust Theo.

“(Y/N) I know this is difficult for you to accept, but he’s a part of our pack now. And Theo, you need to give it time. I’m aware that you two have a history, but somehow you’ll work through it”, Scott reasoned

“That’s not even the reason why!”

“How about some time alone?”, Stiles suggested

Theo groaned, then shook his head, “No, not a good idea”

“You’re right! It’s a great idea”, Scott grins, “Meet me in my room”

I grimaced as Theo smiled politely and led the way. Once we reached his room, Theo plopped down on the bed and made himself at home.

“What?”, he sighed when I glared in his direction

Before I could tear him a new one, Scott and Stiles entered the bedroom with a familiar sac in Stiles’ hand.

“We’ve decided to go on the mission without you”, Scott finally says

“What?”, we yelled in unison

“We don’t need this many people for it anyway. Stiles and I can handle this”

“What if you need backup?”, Theo fired back

“We have a hellhound, banshee, and two betas. In case you forgot”, Stiles replied

“What makes you think we’ll stay put?”, I nearly yelled as Stiles walked closer to the door

He faced my direction as a giant grin spread across his face. Scott quickly grabbed my right wrist and handcuffed it to his headboard, then moved out the door. I frantically pulled my wrist to and fro trying to get out of it.

“Scott!”

“Whoa, calm down sweetheart. You might hurt yourself”, Theo said trying to get me to relax, “You know handcuffs won’t work on me. So I might as well leave”

As he began to stand, Stiles dumped the contents of the sac in a line front of the door.

Wolfsbane.

“I doubt you will be anytime soon”, Stiles replied, “Try not to break anything kids”

“Scott be reasonable!”

“I am being reasonable! We’re a team and we need to stick together. Whatever is going on between the two of you you need to work through it. We shouldn’t be gone too long. Don’t destroy my room either”, he said as he shut the door and left the house, effectively trapping Theo and I inside

“Sooooo…:”, I let out to break the silence

“Don’t”, he quickly said, “No small talk”

“Oh so I take it you’re in charge now?”

“Someone should be”, he mumbles

“Aww is someone still mad they aren’t the alpha?”, I smirked as Theo got off the bed to put some distance between us

“Will you quit bringing that up!?”, he shouted

“Why would I do that? You came along and pulled our pack apart piece by piece. Scott died, Lydia was stuck in Eichen House, you blackmailed Stiles-”

“Stop!”

Theo stood near the bed with his hands balled into fists, the rise and fall of his chest slightly increasing.

“And you took Hayden from Liam. All because you crave power! Was it really worth it Theo?”

“Be. Quiet”, he sneered

“It must have been worth while since you still ended up on the side of the good guys. Even though it doesn’t wipe away all the bad you’ve done”, I finished

Theo began to tremble as if he was going to break down right in front of me. His eyes flashed yellow and blood dripped from his clenched fist. I’m sure it hurts, but I really don’t care enough to say anything.

“You’re never going to trust me are you?”, he asked quietly

“Not in this lifetime”, I replied, “If you get these cuffs off me, I can break the seal and we’ll never speak of this again”

“No”, he was pacing back and forth, “We’re going to get through this like he said. I know this will take a while, but that’s a risk I’ll have to take”

He was either crazy or cared too much about what happened between us.

“You’re still angry”, he continued, “I know it’s my fault that you’re hurting. Believe me I want to make it up to you, if you’ll let me”

This was a side of Theo I didn’t get to see often. He felt bad for being an ass and wanted to be forgiven.

“No”, I said hesitantly, “You’ve said that before and it didn’t end so well”

He lowered his head and let out a frustrated groan.

“I didn’t know they would take you. If I had known I would have left a while ago”, he said softly

“The only reason you decided to help our pack was because they took me. What if they didn’t? Would you still have helped or let us suffer? You make terrible decisions and I’m always going to be the one to pay for them”

“The Dread Doctors used you to get to me. They thought if they got you out the way, I would be compliant, but it only made things worse. The thought of them harming you drove me crazy and I knew it was all my fault. I stopped at nothing to make sure you would be safe”

He hesitantly moved closer to me and sat on the bed.

“I didn’t mean to hurt you (Y/N). I thought I was doing the right thing until you were kidnapped. Out of all the crap that has been going on you’re the only thing that makes sense and I can’t lose you. That’s why I stayed”

“Why should I believe you?”

“Honestly, you shouldn’t. You have no reason to, but I want to work on us. Find a way to right my wrongs with everyone and that starts with you sweetheart”

He’s never been this forward with me. It was a start and I did miss spending time with him. The late nights. The kissing. God the kissing. It drives me crazy just thinking about it. He leaned forward, his face inches from mine. He was lingering in front of me, eyeing my lips down to my neck and chest. His hands ran slowly up my arms up to my wrists. They ran across the handcuffs, but he didn’t take them off. Confusion spread across my face as he smiled.

Theo moved so he was sitting between my legs and unbuttoned my shirt. As he got closer, he ran the tip of his nose along my neck, I let out a moan. He kissed up my neck as his hand trailed down sliding into my leggings. I couldn’t stop the sounds escaping my mouth. The tip of his finger brushed across my clit and I pulled against the restraints. He smirked as he saw my reaction and began moving his finger in slow circles, but soon picked up the pace. My back arched from against the headboard. He positioned two fingers at my entrance and slowly pushed them in.

“(Y/N) you’re soaked”, he groaned as he finally started to pull out, then push them back in. His fingers went in farther until he found my spot. My legs shook uncontrollably as he continued to rub his fingers against it. Theo kissed me to silence my screams, but soon moved away to watch my reaction. I was getting closer and closer to the edge when he pulled his fingers out and licked them clean.

“Theo please”, I groaned

“Not yet sweetheart”, he smirked as he pulled off my leggings and threw my panties aside

He lowered himself between my legs and softly bit the insides of my thighs. He moved at a painstakingly slow pace as he teased me. Finally, he leaned forward and rubbed the tip of his tongue in circles on my clit. I wanted to keep myself from screaming too loud as I pulled the restraints once again.

“Theo”, I moaned as he wrapped his lips around my clit and sucked gently

His hand yanked my bra down and he rolled my nipple between my fingers. My core began to throb as my moans got louder, then he pulled away with a grin.

“You can’t get too loud, you might wake the neighbors”, he winked

Before I could respond, his lips were on mine once again. He pulled away and his pants and boxers were on the floor. He stroked himself as he stared into my eyes.

“I should have asked you before. Are you okay with this?”, he asked hesitantly

“Yes”, I gasped, “I want this. I want you”

“Thank God because this would have turned out so awkward”, he laughed

His laugh was infectious and I felt myself smiling at him once again.

He leaned over me once more, positioning himself between my legs. Theo pushed himself inside halfway and began to shake. He groaned at the feeling of me being wrapped around him before pushing himself in completely. It didn’t take long to adjust to his length.

He pulled back, then slowly pushed himself in again. His lips met mine once again. Everything he needed to say was in the kiss. The last thing I expected was to have Theo between my legs this evening.

My legs began to tremble. He may have been taking his time, but I could feel my release slowly building up. Just when I thought I reach an orgasm again, he pulled away.

“Are you trying to kill me?”, I gasped

When grinned at me I knew I was in trouble. He lifted one of my legs up, then slammed into me. I barely had enough time to adjust, let alone get a word out. As he continued his pace, I was far from able to form a coherent sentence.

He moved his hand to get a hold of my waist at an angle. As he began to hit my spot again, I let out another moan, barely able to control myself. By now I was screaming his name.

Theo leaned down to kiss my neck when I heard him growling softly in my ear. He couldn’t control himself either. I pushed my hips up to meet his pace and he growled even louder.

“(Y/N) I’m so close”, he groaned

The look on my face told it all. With my movements matching his torturous pace and his lips on my neck, I was pushed over the edge and Theo quickly followed suit. He collapsed on top of me trying to catch his breath.

Soon the cuffs were broken and we scrambled to put our clothes on once we heard the front door open. Theo and I smiled as we raced to put Scott’s bed back together. As soon as we finished, the door pushed open.

“We’re back”, Stiles called as he broke the seal

Scott hesitantly stepped into his room and looked around, “You took her cuffs off”

“Yeah. They weren’t needed…after a while”, Theo said, a knowing grin spreading across his room

Scott paused again, then breathed in. His eyes widened as his gaze landed on the both of us holding hands.

“Did you two…in my bed!?”

Stiles doubled over in laughter, “I never saw that coming”

“Scott, I never planned on this happening, but one thing led to another and…”, Theo stated

“Look in the bright side. We get along now. Isn’t that what you wanted?”, I said grinning from ear to ear

Scott opened his mouth, but nothing came out as he glared at the both of us.

“Babe”, Theo said as he squeezed my hand, “We should run”

With that being said he pulled me out of Scott’s room and run like hell with Scott chasing right behind us.

Imirrim-Chæma-Thiridion had answered a distress call. It had probably been stupid on xir part, but what was done was done.

A small ship, even smaller than xir, had crashed on a barren but breathable-to-most-species moon in the system of Hyaldnar. Xe had been making a delivery for xir mentor when xir communication system picked it up, and since xe was barely past adolescence, the journey of not even five rotations was making xem bored and seeing a crash site would be exciting. After all, it was probably an automated distress call, nothing could survive a crash to a rocky moon.

But there xe was, standing in front of a crumpled and burned wreck and the very much alive creature that had crawled out of it after perceiving xir pod landing. Imirrim cursed xir rotten luck, now xe would have to help the poor thing. Xe had been planning on just sight-seeing the wreck a bit, maybe later contact whatever species it had belonged to to tell it had crashed, if only to look good in front of xir mentor.

After a while of the creature gawking and baring it’s teeth at Imirrim, xe recognized the species as human, the fifth longest living space-faring species. Still, xe belonged to the second longest living, and Thalmors like xemself could outlive five humans each born at the moment of the previous one’s death. What had especially stuck from xir exobiology and alien anthropology lessons was humans’ way of expressing their emotions in strange and backwards ways, and their sheer capability to holding grudges. Great.

Imirrim approached the human slowly. It was approaching xem right back, still showing it’s teeth like it was attacking, but but humans expressed their emotions backwards, so that was good, right? Besides, the human was wounded and limping, and xe could outrun it if things went bad.

“Finally someone answered my call,” the human -a male, xe guessed- said as Imirrim was close enough. “I’ve been here for a week and I’m running out of water.”

A week? How was he alive?

“Oh, where are my manners,” the human said and extended the less damaged of its upper limbs towards Imirrim. “I’m Thomas Warren, from the human colony on Clyzma Al Carrim, farmer by profession.”

Imirrim carefully extended a cheliped to mimic the greeting, and did xir best not to flinch when the human grabbed it and shook it. “I am Imirrim-Chæma-Thiridion from planet Skismin, apprentice to the Grand Navigator.”

“It is very nice to meet you,” Thomas said and shook xir cheliped some more before finally letting go. “You mind taking me off this rock?”

Imirrim shifted xir weight from a foot to another to a third. “Sure.”

“Great!” Thomas said and pulled his lips even further back, revealing even more teeth, more than could possibly fit comfortably into a mouth that small. “I’ll be right back.” He limped back into the small shipwreck.

Imirrim was regretting this. It wasn’t customary to help strangers, especially from other species, since there was no telling what they could do. Humans had a reputation of being unpredictable, especially when wounded. And this ‘Thomas’ was covered in wounds, some looking much too severe for anyone to possibly survive.

Thomas emerged from his wreckage, carrying something that was clearly important if he was willing to retrieve it from a wreck while severely wounded. “So, Imirrim, was it? Where are you headed?”

Imirrim led the human to xir pod and helped him climb over the threshold. “Back to Skismin. You can get better help there.” If he stayed alive that long.

“Lovely, you’re a real life saver,” Thomas chuckled. “I’ll owe you one.”

To Imirrim’s surprise -and relief- Thomas did not die during the two rotations’ travel back to Skismin. He talked xir auditory membrane off and after a while filled the pod with the faint stench of alien blood, but all things considered he wasn’t the worst passenger. Once xe had docked the pod back on Skismin and had helped Thomas and his bag of belongings (which turned out to be an assortment of small possibly decorative items, data storage devices, clothes, and even a few ordinary rocks one could get anywhere but that were apparently ‘cool’) to the nearest emergency clinic, Thomas turned to xem one last time.

“If you ever find yourself in a bad spot, call me,” he said with a serious expression xe had come to recognize during their time at the small pod. “I owe you my life, just call and I’ll pay you back.”

Imirrim stared after him for a long while before turning away and heading to tell the Grand Navigator that hir delivery was received and thanked for, and to tell xir mentor about human Thomas Warren.

After xe had told hir what had passed, Imirrim asked one last question. “Master, what does it mean when a human says they 'owe their life’ to someone?”

The Grand Navigator’s age-reddened crest rose curiously. “Like you probably know, humans are known for holding grudges and for being almost insensibly loyal. While they keep in mind all wrong that has been done to them, they do not forget a good deed done to them either. 'Owing one’s life’ means you have done something to them that they regard highly of, usually the saving of a life, and that they will do anything in their power to, as they say, 'return the favor’. Did this Thomas say this to you?”

Imirrim nodded. “Right before he went with the medical staff, he said he owes me his life, and all I need to do in a time of distress is to call him and he will come.”

The Grand Navigator raised hir upper chelipeds in a sign of pride. “You have done well, my apprentice. To earn a human’s favor is a feat of great bravery and compassion. One day, you shall become a fine and daring Navigator, like the explorers before us.”

Imirrim ruffled his crest at the praise. Maybe answering the distress call wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Time went by, and Imirrim progressed from an appearance to a novice and on, up the ranks, and eventually landed a spot as the head Navigator on the long trade ship Pochella, traveling at high speeds through barely charted nebulas and dangerous asteroid fields. Xe plotted courses through the densest of rock fogs and past dangerous gravitational pulls, and not once did his calculations for the course fail.

Xe had lived many more cycles, many more than a human could ever live. Imirrim had counted- xe had kept a distant eye on Thomas Warren in case xe would ever have a need for the favor he had claimed to owe xem, but the need never came. He had died fifty-seven cycles after xe had rescued him, or seventy-two years, as humans counted time, and even more time had passed after that.

Still, even after all this time xe looked back at him for courage when daily life was hard and xir spirit was down. Xe had met and worked with humans many times now and they all shared the same spirit Thomas Warren had had, but none of them had left quite the same impression on xem as Thomas, who had smiled and joked through nine rotations on broken bones and told fondly of his family and farm back on Clyzma Al Carrim.

Imirrim had plotted a course through a particularly dense asteroid cloud, a course that would save the ship a lot of time and fuel. The ship was nearly out of the cloud when the proximity alarm went off and something clamped into the ship’s hull. The computer showed xir an approximate hologram of the something. It was a smaller and armed ship attaching itself to their ship.

The Cieruna members of the crew -small, short-lived, and feathery things with nimble hands and a sensitivity to electromagnetic fields- were screaming in terror. Pirates, they yelled, we can’t shake them off, we’re all going to die. Shush, xe said, we will not die. I’ll call for help, be quiet.

Imirrim galloped to the unoccupied communication post and sent a distress message on all frequencies. “This is Imirrim-Chæma-Thiridion, head navigator of the trade ship Pochella. We are inside the Halfway asteroid cloud. And we are under attack by pirates. Please help us.” Once the message was sent xe stepped away from the console and joined the crew in listening to the magnetic creaking of their hull in the morbid silence that had followed xir call.

The ship could not move, following the already plotted course with the extra weight and bulk of the pirate ship attached to them would be suicide, and finding a new safe route out without knowing the exact dimensions of the other ship was impossible, not to mention useless against the threat. All xe could do was hope for a miracle.

And a miracle xe got. Another proximity alarm sounded, and the computer showed an image of a charging mining pod, ten times smaller than the pirate ship and at least a hundred times smaller than Pochella. Outmatched, outgunned, it rammed the pirate ship and despite being hit by their lasers and missiles, it kept on pounding it with its grappling arms and mining lasers and asteroid bombs, everything it had. And finally, when the pod was leaking air and plasma and fuel into space, the pirate ship released its hold and retreated, engines sputtering and its hull dented and battered, and flew away from Pochella and the mad mining pod to safety of the asteroids.

“What was that? What happened? The Cieruna chirred and cheeped. “It is gone! We are saved!”

Imirrim was still looking at the hologram screen. The mining pod was all but destroyed in the short but fierce fight. Someone exited it, wearing a spacesuit and carrying something, and the pod engaged it’s barely functional engines and sped away leaving a trail of debris and smoke in its wake, until it finally exploded from the damage it had sustained a safe distance away.

Imirrim stared at the hologram for a moment, and shifted xir weight from a foot to another to a third. Xe input a code to the control panel and opened a small airlock near the creature that had saved them all. Xe set off from the bridge where xe was posted and galloped through corridors and climbed down stairs, until xe arrived in front of the airlock that had already closed and the creature that had successfully boarded the ship.

“Are you Imirrim-Chæma-Thiridion?” The creature asked. Xe nodded, all the while looking the spacesuited being up and down. Four limbs, two for walking and two for holding. No tail, short neck but a neck nonetheless. No added room for fins or spikes or crests. It was a human.

The human handed their possession to xem -a lumpy bag that both felt and looked like it had rocks in it- and pulled off their helmet.

The human was ruffled and grizzled and had spark burns on his face and his eyes were serious, but he was baring his teeth in a joyous smile. He extended a hand to greet xem and Imirrim took hold of it and shook it.

“I am Stepa Warren,” the human introduced himself. “You rescued my grandfather from a shipwreck when he was young. He spoke fondly of you til his dying day. It is an honor to meet you.”

Track-By-Track Guide to 'How To Be A Human Being'

“Life Itself”
This one actually started off as a dark, slow, moody track. Quite insular. But eventually we realized there was a cheekiness to the lyrics that we hadn’t really explored, so we injected a sense of optimism into the music. The character that this track is about is a sci-fi obsessed dude who spends most of his time alone inventing strange things and writing stories about ray guns or looking for aliens on Google maps. We made him a website. But that’s what the chords and sound effects were inspired by. Old sci-fi films/series. I also got a bit obsessed with Lollywood music (music from Pakistani films), and thats where the idea for the drums came from.

“Youth”
The idea for this one came from a story someone told me once. They were telling me about their child, and something awful had happened to them. She was crying—but at the same time the memories that they had from that previous life made her so happy—so she was also smiling. That combination of emotions kind of made me feel like my heart was being ripped apart but also optimistic in a weird way. She had found a way to see happiness in this awful thing that had happened to her. That combination of emotions is what this song is getting at. Have a look at this character’s website, too.

“Season 2 Episode 3”
Everyone knows someone like the character from this song. If you don’t, then it’s you. But there are lots of references to different psychedelic cartoons in this one—sonically and lyrically—including Adventure Time. That show is crazy.

“Pork Soda”
I heard a homeless man talking to someone once and say ‘pineapples are in my head.’ In retrospect, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t actually those words, but I thought it was at the time, and it kind of stuck with me. The opening of the song is meant to sound like you’re outside on the street, and you can hear a group of people chanting this song. The drum sounds are made from old bins and trash pieces of metal I found around the studio. Kind of like those street drummers use. All that is meant to set the scene for the story.

“Mama’s Gun”
I don’t use samples very often. I only like using them if they bring something to the table, aside from just music—a context and a further depth to the actual meaning of the song. This song is mainly about mental health, and I remembered this song by The Carpenters called “Mr. Guder.” It fit the atmosphere musically, while the song “Mr. Guder” itself was about an odd character of sorts, and then on top of that, Karen Carpenter’s story added another dimension to the lyrics. if you don’t know the story, you should look it up. It’s important and very sad, and it started a general social dialogue about mental illness which is to this day still a subject matter that we avoid far too much.

“Cane Shuga”
This is the only track on the record that didn’t start with lyrics and vocal melody. It started with the beat and the heavy drums. I let the beat spin and wrote stream of consciousness lyrics through a vocoder for this one to try to capture a certain mentality you might have when you’re a bit fucked up. When you start speaking what seems like gibberish—but maybe that gibberish is actually quite revealing.

”[Premade Sandwiches]”
This is a spoken word interlude. My favorite word in the album is in this: “McFuck.” It’s something that someone’s gotten at McDonald’s. Here it is used in a sentence: “What the McFuck are you eating?”

“The Other Side Of Paradise”
This is musically my favorite track on the record, I think. The chords are quite bizarre, and there are some mad arrangement and structural things going on. And the beat was super fun to make. It’s gonna be fun live!

“Take A Slice”
This track is about someone with a lot of lust. It’s as sleazy as I’ll ever get in lyrics. But everyone has that inside them somewhere, even if it’s only a tiny bit. And it comes out from time to time. For some people, it’s out all the time.

“Poplar St”
This song is meant to open with a kind of musical/lyrical image of a place. A little guitar hook and a floating vocal line that all seems quite peaceful, but things get more and more twisted as the song goes on. The guitar starts doing weirder things, the music builds tension, and then the whole thing flips on it’s head at the end. And you find that maybe that place isn’t what you first expected it was.

“Agnes”
As soon as I started writing it, I knew it would be the album closer. This is my favorite song on the record. And the saddest song I will ever write.

Loki Imagine - Kneel

This takes place during Odin’s sleep when Loki was king. Warning: Smut!

Your P.O.V.

Something was going on here on Asgard. A bad feeling had taken place in me and I felt nervous without a reason. So I walked around the streets, eyeing everyone who walked past me. The people didn’t seem suspicious. Yes, some of them were a little tense but I wasn’t sure why.

After walking around until it was dark, I was stopped by two royal guards. I saw the bright yellow of their capes and it caught my attention. ‘’King Loki needs to speak with you’’ One of them informed me which had surprised me. Not because Loki wanted to see me, we were great friends. I was surprised as they called him a king.

Out of shock I had been silent. Had Odin died? Was that the reason for my bad gut feeling?

I let the guards take me to the golden palace. As we walked there, I felt the knot in my stomach growing tighter. For the first time in a while, I was nervous to meet Loki. Was he alright? What the hell was happening behind the closed doors?

The throne room was only lit by flames as I finally made my way there. The guards stopped by their spots, allowing me to walk further inside by myself. I was a familiar face here, since both Thor and Loki had been my friends as we grew up. I had slowly become more attached to Loki and the last few times we’ve met, it had gotten quite heated, if that’s what you could describe it as.

I reached the throne, shocked as I saw absolutely no guards. My eyes directed at Loki who sat on the throne. My eyes widened by the sight. He was wearing his black and green suit, his golden head piece and he held a golden spear. I’d be lying if I said he didn’t look good up there.

‘‘I’ve been waiting for you, Y/N’‘ Loki broke the silence between us. He had a mischievous smile on his beautifully sculptured face. The way he spoke made my heart skip a beat. ‘‘King Loki’‘ I breathed out, enjoying the taste of the words in my mouth. Loki’s smile faded and suddenly he leaned against his big hand, looking at me very intensely. The dark look in his pretty emerald eyes sent shivers down my spine.

‘‘Come closer’‘ He encouraged me and glanced at the steps on the throne. I licked my lips, suddenly finding them dry. Then I did as told, walking towards him slowly, taking cautious steps and looking at his face. He never told me to stop and I found myself almost right in front of me. I wasn’t sure what he was doing but I liked it. He made me feel like I was on an adventure by just looking in my direction. He filled my veins with adrenaline, giving me a pleasant rush.

‘‘Kneel’‘ Loki demanded sharply, making my knees weak. I never broke eye contact as I lowered myself in front of him, kneeling for my king. He seemed pleased as I obeyed him so well. Loki loved that about us. We had discovered new sides of each other lately as our friendship had developed to this intense relationship. I had learned that he was dominating and I was surprised as I realized how submissive I was. It was a perfect combo.

‘‘You’re such a good girl, Y/N’‘ He purred happily and touched my hair with his hand, almost like he was petting me. Judging by the smug look on his face, he knew exactly what he was doing to me. My underwear was most definitely getting soaked and I felt a familiar heat between my legs.

‘’Is there anything I could do for you, your majesty?’‘ I asked him with an innocent look on my face, teasing him on purpose. I looked at his face, nearly overwhelmed by his beauty. The flames in the room illuminated his features with an orange and golden glow. Loki looked absolutely majestic as he sat on Asgard’s throne.

His gentle touch turned rough as he grabbed my hair and pulled me closer to him. I put my hands on his knees so I wouldn’t lose my balance and it seemed like it was his plan as well. ‘’You have ignored me for the past few days, why?’’ Loki wanted to know, never letting go of me. His gorgeous eyes were locked with mine and I felt like I had to tell him the truth, like his look hypnotized me.

‘‘Oh’‘ My lips curved into a smirk. ‘‘I’m sorry, I’ve been busy’‘ I revealed as little as possible. Loki narrowed his eyes and hummed deeply, probably not believing me. I nearly gulped as he examined me so closely and it didn’t help the situation between my legs at all. He made me crave for his touch just like a fish needed water.

‘‘Naughty girl, you’re lying’‘ Loki noticed, which was good. Partly, I wanted to be caught. He seemed darker than usual, like he had anger inside of him and he hadn’t gotten anything good to think about in a while. I batted my eyelashes at him innocently, hoping he’d take this situation further.

‘‘If your mouth can’t be honest, I’ll better put it into good use’‘ He got an idea that made my body tingle from excitement. He had total control over me but I fucking loved it. He knew me so well and I knew him which made everything even better. ‘‘Are you sure? Someone can walk in’‘ I whispered and looked around the gigantic area. No one was to be seen.

‘‘Let them’‘ Loki replied sternly and then grabbed my hand, placing it on his hard crotch. My eyes widened as I felt how damn hard he was, almost like he could barely contain himself anymore. Imperceptibly, I bit my lower lip. His dick was pulsing and I felt it through the material of his clothes. ‘‘Poor thing’‘ I teased and gave him a light, playful squeeze.

Loki took a deep breath and grabbed my hair tightly. ‘’No teasing’’ He growled deeply, almost like he got even hornier. I was more than happy to help the king out. So I pushed his robe aside so I could get better access to him. I began to pull down his black pants and Loki helped me by shifting slightly. I pulled down the luxurious fabrics until I could free his hard member.

I almost cursed as I saw his dick right in front of my face. Loki had a really long dick with the perfect thickness. His tip was rosy red and there was pre-cum there, making me eager immediately. ‘’Open up’’ Loki demanded, snapping me out of my thoughts. My mouth was watering by now and I was more than happy to part my lips for him.

Loki led my face closer to him and I took the tip of his member into my mouth, slowly giving him a lick to collect the pre-cum. It tasted salty and bitter in my mouth. My hand grabbed his shaft and I took more of him inside, deciding to be a tease and take things slowly. I watched as his facial expressions changed from the stern one to a more joyful look. He inhaled a sharp breath as I circled my tongue around him, knowing exactly what he liked.

‘‘God, you are so pretty down there, my queen’‘ He rasped almost quietly but it encouraged me to make him feel good. I bobbed my head a few times so I could tease his sensitive tip but soon I wanted to go further. I pushed my head even closer to him and hollowed my cheeks, causing Loki to grunt out in pleasure. It was like music to my ears.

Loki pushed himself inside me, hitting the back of my throat each time. I breathed through my nose because my mouth was absolutely full by his enormous length. It was quite obvious he was a God like creature. He was beyond perfect.

I made sure to hollow my cheeks as he fucked my face harshly. I gagged a few times but I managed to take it. Drool began to collect at the edges of my mouth and it slid down my jaw. ‘’Mmhmm’’ I hummed as his cock was deep in my mouth. The vibrations were something Loki adored. His beautiful, pinkish lips parted and he gasped in pure pleasure. He looked amazing as he felt good.

Loki’s raven black hair got messy and a strand fell on his face beautifully. His blue-green eyes turned dark like a stormy sea and his skin was covered in a thin layer of sweat, giving him a slight glow. I pulled myself away from his cock but I yanked him off with his hand, rubbing my thumb on his tip each time I reached it. I could feel thick veins underneath my touch and the pulsating sensation as well.

‘‘I love your cock so much’‘ I admitted dirtily. Then I stuck out my tongue and dragged it along his veins. ‘‘Shit, Y/N’‘ Loki moaned harshly as he looked down, never taking his eyes off of me. I gave him a naughty look before licking his balls, knowing exactly how sensitive he was there. As my hand worked on his shaft, my mouth buried between his legs and I happily licked his most sensitive places. I kissed his shaft a few times, slowly climbing back up to his tip.

As I got to up, I took him into my mouth once again. Loki held onto my hair tightly and it hurt just the tiniest bit but I liked it. I jerked him off as I sucked his tip, whirling my tongue around him and moaning just to be extra. ‘’I’m close’’ Loki warned me, almost too loudly. I let him push my face as down as he could although it made me gag. It filled me with deep lust and excitement.

I bobbed my head with his help and I focused hard on pleasing him. His dick twitched a few times and that’s when I knew he was on the verge of spilling his load in my mouth. So I pulled my head away and took him to his edge by using my hands. I opened my mouth up wide.

‘‘Y/N- holy..’‘ Loki tried to speak but he couldn’t focus on his words. Suddenly his body tensed and the grip on me got harsher. Hot sperm flew out of him and I tried hard to catch it all in my mouth. Once again, I got a warm, salty taste in my mouth. Most of his cum landed on my tongue but some spurted on my face. I made sure to pump out each drop before I took my hand away.

I wiped the hot cum off my face with my thumb and sucked it off. Loki watched intensely as I swallowed everything, leaving nothing to waste. My jaw hurt a little bit but it was worth it. Loki was catching his breath as he was coming down his high. His cheeks got a little bit of color and he looked relieved.

‘‘Delicious’‘ I purred happily and popped my lips. Loki looked at me warmly for a while, almost happily. ‘‘Come here, darling’‘ He told me and helped me on his lap. I smiled gladly as I sat on his legs, wrapping mine around him. Then I rested my head against his as our noses touched lightly.

Loki was cool although he was sweaty. I thought he just wanted me here to sit but he had other thoughts. As I placed my lips on his, his hand traveled underneath my silky dress. My breath hitched in my throat as his skilled, long fingers touched my heat through my thin, soaked panties.

Loki broke our kiss so he could speak. ‘’My, my, is my queen aroused?’’ Loki chuckled quietly, his breath landing on my lips. My cheeks heated and I nodded, desperate for his touch that never left me disappointed.

He teased me by stroking his fingers against my slit. I gulped and realized I had to hold onto something. So I grabbed him by his shoulders and prepared myself for what was to come. He used his other hand to grab my jaw so I had to face him. The stern look was back on his ridiculously handsome face.

The next thing I knew was that he pushed my underwear aside and he pressed his fingers against my needy clit. A shiver ran down my spine and a wave of please hit me. Loki circled his fingers swiftly, making me melt for him. I struggled to keep quiet in here. After all, if I’d moan as loudly as in his bedroom, the entire castle would be filled with echo.

Loki used his magic and suddenly his fingertips were ice cold. The sensation of the cold meeting my hotness was blissful. I bit my lower lip harshly, drawing blood as I struggled to shut up. ‘’Don’t fight it’’ Loki whispered and I realized how darkly he was looking at me. His eyes had a shadow and his smile was vicious in a good way.

Out of the blue, Loki slid two of his long fingers inside me. That’s when I couldn’t control myself anymore. A loud moan left mouth and it echoed. My eyes widened and I tried to cover my mouth with my own hands, only to realize I couldn’t move them. Something was around my wrists. I glanced at my hands and saw handcuffs attached to chains. Loki had totally planned this!

His fingers felt incredible inside of me, rubbing against my wet walls with just the amount of pressure I craved and a little more. ‘’Oh, fuck Loki!’’ I whimpered out in awe, rocking my hips in the rhythm of his fingers. ‘’That’s right, say it again. Let everyone know who makes you feel this good’’ He growled with a raspy voice, suddenly eager to make me scream out his name.

I was in ecstasy as his fingers sunk inside of me and then pulled out, only to hit the sweet spot again and again. I attempted to drown my moans but Loki did everything in his power to make me moan as loudly as possible. A few whimpers escaped past my lips and I began to breathe sharply.

The pleasure he gave me was simply overwhelming. Loki curved his fingers inside me, only adding pressure to the spot I loved. I could feel my arousal soaking his entire hand and probably his pants as well. ‘’Oh my..’’ I gasped and gulped, happy to feel the knot in my stomach forming.

‘‘Come on dear, scream’‘ Loki whispered into my ear which caused goosebumps to appear all over my body. ‘‘It feels so good’‘ I moaned to him, wanting more but I was afraid I’d cause the guards to run inside in worry. I most certainly didn’t want to alarm anyone.

‘‘You’re close, I can feel it. You’re getting tighter’‘ Loki told me darkly. I nodded and cursed a few words underneath my breath. My brain was overpowered by the amazing feeling. As Loki finger fucked me on the throne, my wetness became evident. I could hear how much I needed him.

A smile appeared on my face as I thought about this. It was a very dirty and naughty thing to do, on the throne. But the rush it gave me was astonishing. ‘’Come on’’ Loki growled and added pressure, causing me to flinch. I squeezed his shoulders hard and gritted my teeth together.

His cold fingers hit my sweet spot hard, sending such a strong sense of pleasure through me and each time, he pushed me closer to the edge. After a few moments, I let go and felt as my orgasm approached me like a gift.

My walls clenched around his fingers and suddenly, I grew overly sensitive. My eyes rolled to the back of my head and I couldn’t think for a moment. ‘’Loki! Yes..oh fuck yes’’ I screamed out his name. He seemed pleased as he accomplished that and for a while, I didn’t mind at all. Loki pulled out his fingers but it didn’t stop there.

He rubbed my pulsing clit slowly, making my entire body tremble. I flinched a couple times and tears stung my eyes because it felt so fucking amazing. ‘’You’re so gorgeous when you cum’’ Loki let me know, his words messing with my brain ever more. I focused on his fingers that made me feel like a true Goddess.

He let me ride down my orgasm before he pulled back his fingers. Then he held me on his lap, allowing me to gather myself before he’d do anything else. A few warm tears rolled down my face but they were happy tears. Loki didn’t notice until I sniffled. It caught his attention quickly.

‘‘Are you alright?’‘ He pried seriously and made me face him. I cracked a smile and nodded. The powerful orgasm had knocked me over and I was exhausted. ‘‘I’m more than alright’‘ I giggled and that made him happy. ‘‘Good. I thought I had hurt you which would never be my intention’‘ He admitted quietly and petted my hair again. I loved this. Loki was never soft to others. He was rarely like this to me but these few moments always melted my heart.

Earned It- Loki One Shot

Pairing: Loki x Reader

Prompt: When Thor brings Loki to stay with the Avengers, the team decides to prove just how much the God of Mischief has changed by assigning you to earn his trust; but you end up earning more than that. NO RAGNAROK SPOILERS!

Word Count: 3700

A/N: Ok so I saw Thor Ragnarok when it first came out and I absolutely loved it. For some reason, I fell in love with Loki. Not gonna lie, I feel like Loki deserves redemption and the MCU is not giving him that at all (which is why I disliked him in previous movies). Before Ragnarok, I only liked Loki because he was funny and Tom Hiddleston is beautiful. So, yeah, with this new found love for Loki, I have decided to expand my characters by adding him to the list of people I will write of. Fair warning: this is not a good imagine at all.

~~~
“But why me?” You let out an exasperated whine, “He knows me the least.”
“It’s not just that.” Steve nodded, “You weren’t there when he tried taking over the world, so you’re the best candidate.”
“So what? I’m chosen just because he’s never tried to kill me directly before?”
“Basically. Plus, you’re a hot, young girl that Loki would totally mess with.” Tony added, making Natasha hit him over the back of his head and you roll your eyes. “I’m just saying that you have more assets than I do when it comes to gaining the God of Mischief’s trust.”
“Thanks, Tony.” You replied in a flat tone.
“Will you do it, Y/N? It’s the best way to see if he has changed and if we can actually trust him.” Steve said.
“If I’m our only hope, then sure, but, I swear, if Loki tries anything on me, Thor, you will no longer have a brother.”
“Get in line.” Clint laughed dryly.
“Yeah, you’ll have to wait your turn for that.” Bruce said.
“Hey, now, no one will be killing my brother. He has changed.” Thor said. When the mighty God of Thunder first approached the Avengers about his brother staying in the compound with them, they were all quick to say no. Thor then went into detail about Loki’s redeeming actions while his brother walked into the room. After putting away their drawn weapons, Tony locked Loki in one of the cells, so that the team could discuss the issue at hand. That’s when Tony, Natasha, and Steve came up with the brilliant idea of using you as bait. You, the newest Avenger that has never even formally met Loki before, were chosen as the person to draw him out. You would somehow gain his trust and learn whether or not he has truly changed. If he never trusted you, then he was the same Loki as years ago; if he trusted you, then he had changed.
With your decision made, the Avengers left their meeting room to the cells. You all stood before Loki as he beamed mischievously at the sight before him. Tony opened the cell up and allowed the God to step out.
“Alright, reindeer games, we’ve got some rules that you must comply to- if you are to stay here.” Tony stated.
“Ah, rules- don’t you just love them and the chaos they bring?” Loki replied and Steve scolded Natasha as she began to curl her fists.
“Look,” Steve said, stepping up, “You’re not allowed to leave the compound unless one of us agrees to go with you; you cannot create any chaos inside or outside of the compound; you’re not allowed anywhere near the ships or weaponry-”
“I get it. I’m under house arrest. I’ve been in trouble before.” He stated, “Now, where is my bedroom? I’d like to catch up on some sleep.”
“Follow me, brother.” Thor said, leading Loki up the stairs as everyone dismantled from their protective stances. You watched as the two brother headed up the spiral staircase and you caught how Loki peered over his shoulder at you. You were quick to turn your head and invest yourself in a conversation with Steve.
~~~

That night, Loki did not come downstairs for dinner. Thor offered to take him a plate, but you insisted on doing it- that way, you could introduce yourself properly to him. Thor, knowing your intentions well, allowed you to take his place in serving his brother. You stood outside of Loki’s room and knocked lightly on the door, holding his plate of food with the other hand.

“Come in.” Loki said dryly. You slowly opened the door to find him sitting on his bed with a disinterested look in his eyes.

“I brought you dinner.” You gestured to the plate of steak and potatoes.

“I’m not hungry.” He replied and you shook your head with a laugh.

“You haven’t eaten all day. Please, eat this. Sam makes the best steaks.” You held it out to him and placed the book in his hands on his lap, before taking the plate.

“Sam?”

“Yeah, Sam, he’s the Falcon. He’s super cool and there are no steaks that compare to his- well, actually there’s a really nice restaurant in Upper Manhattan that has the best steaks. Sam’s are still amazing.”

“I’m dying to try it.” Loki replied sarcastically as he poked it with his fork.

“I’m Y/N, by the way.” You said, holding a hand out to him.

“Loki, but you already knew that.” He shook your hand almost timidly. He felt that there was something off about you- why were you so kind compared to the others? He expected Thor to be the only one to treat him as a normal person- not some random Midgardian that he’s never met.

“What book are you reading?”

“Excuse me?” Loki asked and you nodded toward the stray book on his bed. “It’s just a story my mother used to tell me. It’s a part of Norse mythology, as you humans call it.”

“It sounds interesting. I’ve always enjoyed learning about mythology.” You said, genuinely.

“Well, as good of a book it is, it does get boring after a while. I should have brought more books with me.”

“You know, Loki, we’ve got a library.”

“A library?” Loki asked, his whole stance perking up at the word.

“Yeah, I’d offer to show you it tonight, but I’ve got dishes to do. I’ll show it to you tomorrow.” You paused and then nodded, “I’ll see you later then. Good night, Loki.”

“Good night, YN.” Loki replied as you quickly retreated from his room. He looked at the plate in his hands and set it on his bedside table. He picked up his book and began to read it once more. He couldn’t help but think about you and how you were so intriguing to him. As much as he’d appreciate you showing him the library tomorrow, Loki got up and made it his mission to find the library on his own.

~~~
The next day, you went to find Loki in his room, but found that it was empty. You then decided that the library would be the next best place to look, knowing that he had shown a level of interest in it. You found him as expected; he was comfortably lounging in a chair with his nose stuck in a different book.
“I see you found Steve’s Shakespeare.” You said with a short laugh. Loki jumped, startled at your sudden presence. He lowered the book and looked over at you as you stood in between two shelves.
“It is quite entertaining to read.” He replied, glancing down at Macbeth in his hands.
“I know. It’s one of my favorite Shakespeare plays.” You nodded.
“If you’ll forgive me, I’d like to continue it.”
“I’ll be quiet, but I want to do some reading of my own.” You replied. You searched in the shelves for a book as Loki continued his reading.
This happened once everyday for the next two weeks. You would enter the library to read in peace, and Loki would already be sitting at a chair by the fire with a different book in his hand than the day before. You would both make small talk for a few minutes when you arrived. You felt, over this time period, that your feelings for the God were growing, and growing romantic. You also felt that there had been no progress on your part- Loki still treated you as if you were just another Avenger, as if you were on the same level as his brother for trust.
“Just give it some more time.” Natasha told you as you complained to her in her room.
“Time won’t do anything, Nat. Nothing is working. We just sit in a library and read as communication.” You let out an exasperated sigh and she shrugged. You watched as she focused on painting her toenails a light shade of purple almost more than she focused on your complaints.
“At least he bears being in the same room as you. He makes every meal incredibly awkward.” She replied. You remembered back to just this morning- Loki was silent, like he always was, and, as soon as he finished eating, he left the room. His presence filled the entire room with tension.
“That’s one thing, though.” You huffed.
“Aren’t you usually reading by now?” Natasha asked, peering at the clock on her wall.
“I’m quitting this mission. It’s stupid and it’s pointless. The guy has been here for two weeks and he’s done nothing. Isn’t that reason enough to trust him?”
“Look who you’re talking to and think who you’re talking about- guess again.” Natasha laughed. She had been on so many missions where she was undercovers for weeks, and Loki most likely had no problem with committing to fooling someone for long periods of time.
“That doesn’t matter. What I mean to say is this whole idea is corrupt and I’m done with it.”
“Corrupt? As in it isn’t good on Loki?”
“That’s not what I-”
“Ohhhh,” Natasha let out sinister laugh followed by a knowing smirk, “You like him, don’t you?”
“Don’t be ridiculous.” You tried to defend yourself.
“Sweetheart, you can lie to yourself and to him all you want, but you cannot lie to me. You are totally into him!”
“Fine, so what if I am? Why are you so happy about it?” You asked, referring to her blatant hatred of him.
“I don’t agree with you, but I think you liking him is cute. Maybe you could end up changing him.” She shrugged hopefully, “Plus, if he hurts you, it gives me even more motivation to kill him.”
“Like you need anymore of that.” You said, making her chuckle.
“Fine, if you’re giving up this mission, then you can go make me a sandwich. I’m starving.” Natasha said and you playfully rolled your eyes at her.
“Turkey or ham?” You asked as you headed towards her bedroom door.
“Turkey please!” She called from her spot.
You left her room and went straight to the kitchen to make up her snack. You finished her sandwich and then decided to make one for yourself. Just as you were about to top off your own with the final piece of bread, you heard a voice, announcing the presence of someone else in the room.
“Could you make me one too, please?” It was Loki and the sincerity in his voice was something almost unusual. He seemed quieter and mellower in his demeanor today.
“Would you like turkey or ham?” You asked as he stepped into the kitchen completely and began to watch you work.
“Either will be fine.” He said, “You didn’t come to the library today.”
“Oh, you noticed that.” You stated, awkwardly fumbling with the sliced meat before you.
“Why, yes, I did.” Loki stated, taking a cautious step towards you, “I do notice when the one person who does not alienate me leaves me alone.” You turned to him to see him being completely genuine- his soft eyes telling you everything. He looked away and took the sandwich from your hands, “Pardon my directness.” He left the room with the sandwich and without another word.
You sighed at his retreating figure. Maybe you shouldn’t quit- at least not yet. He had shown some feeling in that moment; he had shown that he cared about you. You wouldn’t jump to saying he thought of you in a romantic way like you thought of him, but you could conclude that he felt connected to you.
You took the last two sandwiches to Natasha’s room. You dared not speak of the recent events to her. She munched happily on her sandwich as you two watched reality shows and as he toes dried.
~~~

The next day was completely lovely. The sky was blue and the leaves were in the middle of changing colors. You absolutely loved it and you figured Loli would too. You quietly entered the library and saw him exactly where you had planned to: sitting in that same arm chair with yet another book.

“Loki,” You said, making your presence known to him. He peered over his book at you and offered a smile, “I was wondering if you’d like to go outside- since, you know, you’ve kind of lived in this room for the past couple of weeks.”

“Outside? You would accompany me outside?” He asked, completely thrown off by your question.

“Yes. It’s a beautiful day. I was going to visit the park and I thought that you might like to join me.” You explained yourself.

“I would like that.” Loki said. He set the book on the table and stood up. Using his magic, he changed his clothes from Asgardian wear to Midgardian casual attire. You smiled at him, admiring his change.

You took Loki to the nearest park, much to the dismay of some of your fellow teammates. Thor offered to tag along, but Natasha quickly shut that down. Thor was far too recognizable and anyone could recognize Loki if they had seen his brother. You were pleased about introducing Loki to feeding the ducks with the few pieces of bread that you had smuggled from the compound. From what you could tell, he enjoyed it. It was the simplest thing, yet it displayed Loki’s humaneness in such a strong way. He never really stopped genuinely smiling while at the park and all of it was because of you.

~~~
Loki was pacing around in his room the next day, rehearsing how he should ask you out. He wanted to take you to that restaurant that served the steak you loved, but he didn’t know how Midgardian dating worked.
“Brother!” Thor greeted, walking into Loki’s room unannounced and startling him.
“Thor, have you forgotten how to knock?” He asked with a sigh.
“I heard you pacing. Is anything on your mind?”
“Why would anything be on my mind? I’m fine.” His reply was defensive as he attempted to conceal his emotions. As the God of Mischief, he is normally much better at it, but his feelings for you had grown too great for him to easily cope with.
“Does this have anything to do with Lady Y/N?” Thor inquired.
“What are you on about, brother? This has nothing to do with her. Nothing is wrong.” Loki stated.
“Whatever you say, I shall believe, but I do think you should ask her sooner than later. Unlike us, Lady Y/N does not have thousands of years.” He spoke with a calm smile.
“Is that all?”
“Well, I was originally sent to ask if you were joining us for dinner, so will you?”
“It depends if I am hungry or not. You can leave now, Thor.” Loki said and his brother exited with his hands up in surrender. Loki looked at himself in the mirror and cast an illusion so that he was in casual clothing for the second day in a row. He left his room and headed straight to yours. As he was about to knock, he realized your door was cracked open and that you were speaking to someone in your room.
“I’m actually glad I didn’t quit.”
“I’m glad you didn’t, too.” Natasha said, “It seems to be working.”
“I learned from the best.” You laughed, referring to your best friend before you.
“Do you think he’s changed?”
“I think Loki has.” He froze hearing you mention his name. His heart hammered in his chest, “He seems kinder and gentler. I still feel bad though. A part of me wishes I gave up, but a part of me is proud that I’m going through with this mission.”
‘Mission?’ Loki thought. He felt a stinging pain build up in his heart. No, it couldn’t be. He was the God of Mischief. There was no way you, a mere Midgardian, could have tricked him- and there was no way you could have tricked him into falling in love with you.
“Going undercover is hard, but you have done it well, even if your target was the God of Mischief.” Natasha replied proudly. Loki heard you two come closer to the door, but he wasn’t quick enough to move. His feet were planted in that moment- replaying your words in his head. As you opened the door to reveal him, he used his magic to transform him back to his Asgardian self.
“Loki-“ you started. Natasha looked at you with concern, knowing fully well that he had heard the two of you.
“Don’t.” Loki spoke with a firm shake of his head. The smile that you had grown fond of over the past few weeks was completely gone. “Congratulations, you succeeded in fooling the God of Mischief.” He sarcastically raised his hands and did a partial bow for you, before he left without another word.
You watched his retreating figure in pain. You had never wanted to hurt him- that was never the plan, but, yet again, falling in love with the trickster was never a part of the plan either. You started to walk in the direction of his room when Natasha caught your hand.
“Y/N,” she sighed, “Leave him be for a bit. C’mon, we should tell the others.” Agreeing with her, you quietly followed her down the hall to the lab, opposite of Loki’s direction.
~~~

“Well, this is-“ Tony started after taking a deep breath, but was cut off by Steve.

“Bad. This is bad.” He stated. You could feel all of their eyes watching you, as you kept your eyes focused on the ground beneath you. “Thor, what do you suggest we do?”

“I do not know.” The God replied, “I have never seen my brother act the way he was with Y/N before. He showed a whole different level of respect and compassion for her-“

“Could it be that he was playing her as well?” Clint asked.

“No.” Thor shook his head, “Loki is mischievous and he is great at pretending, but not like this. I have never seen him so vulnerable.”

“You think he actually loves her?”

“I don’t know if I would call it love quite yet, but I do believe it could have become that.”

“Should I talk to him?” You asked quietly. Guilt and pain was all you could feel. Loki was upset with you, and, now, Thor believed you to have broken his heart.

“Maybe I shall speak with him first, Lady Y/N.” Thor said. “I know my brother best and I fear he is too unpredictable at the moment.”

“Very well then. Thor, go see him.” Natasha stated and he nodded. The room was silent as all of you watched Thor leave the room.

Thor entered Loki’s room to find his brother casually sitting on his bed, a book in his hand. Loki lowered the book and looked at the other God. He answered, “Yes?”

“Do you love her?” Thor asked.

“That mortal? Please.” Loki said, rolling his eyes lightly.

“Loki, drop this act. Do you love her?” He asked again. Thor stepped into the room and a bright gold burst came from the room as Loki’s magic disappeared. The seemingly normal bedroom was an illusion and shifted into the remains of a bedroom. The bed was torn apart with the mattress falling into the wall; the opposite wall had a few fist holes in it; and the bedside table was smashed, bits of it splattered around the room. Loki sat in the far corner and lifted his head from hands.

“See for yourself, brother.” Loki said, slowly looking up at the other God. His eyes were red and his hair was a mess from his recent angry motions.

“Loki-“ Thor was speechless. He had never seen his brother so broken and hurt. The last time Thor walked in on Loki in a state like this was when their mother died; and, now, Loki was broken once more.

“Surprised? This is what one look like when they are upset.” He stated.

“This is far more than upset.”

“It’s against my nature to call myself heartbroken.”

“Y/N would like to speak with you.”

“And I would not like to speak with her, or anyone for that matter, so, brother, you may leave now.”

“I will not leave you here to swallow yourself into a hole of despair.” Thor said as Loki stood.

“Despair? How would you feel if the mortal you loved betrayed you? How would you feel if you loved her and she had been lying to you this whole time?” His voice raised in anger.

“You have it all wrong, brother. Y/N has not betrayed you.”

“Leave! You know nothing of her lies!” He stepped towards his brother and Thor straightened up to his full height, preparing for any violence that may come.

“Loki,” You spoke from the doorway. Both Gods turned to you in surprise and Loki’s heavy breathing seemed to calm.

“Lady Y/N-” Thor started.

“I’d like to speak to Loki alone.” You said. The blond looked between the two of you and then left the room without another word.

“I do not wish to speak to you right now.” Loki turned his back to you and you took in his destroyed room. You sighed softly and stepped towards him.

“Please, allow me to explain myself.”

“I don’t need any further explanation. I understand your actions- you don’t trust me, none of you do.” He stated with a firm shake of his head, making you stop in your tracks.

“Loki, I can’t speak for the others, but I trust you. What I did was wrong, but I was doing what was best for the team. They wanted me to earn your trust-”

“Well, you earned more than that. Congratulations.” He said.

“If it is love that you’re speaking of, then I feel it too.” You replied and he slowly turned to you.

“Pardon me?” Loki questioned and you continued your walk to him until you were directly in front of the God.

“I love you, Loki, and I’m so sorry that I made you feel betrayed. It was never my intentions.”

“Is this the truth?” He asked and you delicately took his hands in yours. You nodded, causing a grin to form on his face. He leaned down to kiss you softly. He pulled away and whispered to you, “Good. I love you too, and it frightens me.”

“I’ll never lie to you again.”

The bright sunlight behind the curtains, stirs you awake from your deep sleep. There’s a faint smile stretched upon your lips, as you feel as if you’ve had one of the best naps in the longest of times. Your eyes are still closed shut as you try to flex your stiff muscles; only you can’t.

As soon as you tried to lift your arms, you hit something very hard and muscular. Huh? That’s weird. You can also feel that your legs are entangled, and something wrapped around your waist.

You didn’t mind the feeling, as you were still too tired to process things, and because it brought great warmth, but then you heard it; a faint grunt. Your eyes instantly shoot open, and you blush hard when you realize you’re wrapped up into Jungkook.

His face is mere centimeters away from yours, and his eyes are still closed shut, indicating he’s still asleep. You can feel his hot breath, gently tickling your red face, as his hair is all over. You peer downwards and see that his left arm is securely wrapped around your waist, as both of you were laying down on your sides. His long, thick legs were clumsily tangled with yours, and you were finding it hard to breathe since you were so close to him.

OH MY GOD! WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT?!?!

i’m sure this has been done. but. eh.

“I don’t think it’s that bad,” Neil says.

Andrew looks away from the road to Neil, and then back again.

“They’re not,” Neil attempts.

The only reason Neil finally agreed to go to the dentist was because of the threat of being benched by the coaches. Not because the pain has been affecting his playing - of course it hasn’t - but because everyone on the team is sick of him holding and rotating his jaw all the time, obviously in pain but completely unwilling to admit it.

“You do as the doctors say now,” Andrew says, a reminder of an old agreement made back when Neil first went pro. Neil’s innate distrust in people wasn’t ever going to be a good enough reason for him to be stupid in regards to medical care when he was out of Abby’s hands. Andrew would like to think that now they’re on the same team he would have slightly more sway over Neil, but that’s never really been the case.

“He’s not a doctor.” The level of scorn in Neil’s voice is truly impressive.

“Medical professional, then.” Andrew imagines the look on the dentist’s face as hearing Neil’s real opinion of him.

“Lots of people keep their wisdom teeth,” Neil says. “You still have yours.”

Andrew’s aren’t growing sideways out of his skull and threatening to crowd all his other teeth together. The term the dentist had used for Neil’s was ‘severely impacted’. He’d referred Neil to a maxillofacial surgeon and said that Neil would be lucky if they could be removed under sedation rather than a general anaesthetic.

“I know,” Andrew says, rather than attempting a logical argument. There’s really no point.

“What?”

“I know, it’s hard to believe that my mouth really is bigger than yours,” Andrew says.

The threat of benching works well enough to get Neil to the surgeon, which is unsurprising to anyone who actually knows Neil. He’s calm and unafraid all day, except for the piercing look he gives Andrew in the moments before he’s ushered away.

“There’s a quiet waiting room just through here,” someone says, indicating a door. “You would be amazed how ill people have to be before they stop considering asking for an autograph.”

It’s been a while since anyone over the age of about sixteen asked Andrew for an autograph - the older ones got the idea eventually - but the offer of a quiet place to not be stared at isn’t anything to be sniffed at. Andrew goes through the door and takes a spot on a chair next to the window with a clear view of the door.

His fingers itch for a cigarette. He reaches for his phone instead.

Social media isn’t of much interest to him, so he spends a good half-hour reading news articles spiralling into scientific studies and then into the rabbit hole of wikipedia. He’s not sure quite how long it’s been when a knock at the door interrupts him from the page he’s reading on Indian mathematics.

Someone in scrubs puts her head through the door. “Mister Minyard? Neil is in recovery now. You can come sit with him.”

Andrew stands and follows her quick bustle of a walk, putting his phone in his pocket as he goes. The nurse is chatting as speedily as she walks. “Once he’s more awake and we know for sure he’s feeling himself he can be discharged. He’s a little quiet right now, but he asked for you before.”

She ushers him into a private room - another perk of being professional athletes - with a smile.

Neil is lying on his back on the bed with his eyes closed, but he opens them when he hears Andrew sitting in the chair at his side. He looks a little like a chipmunk with the gauze stuffed in his cheeks, his jaw swollen enough that it’s grotesquely square rather than its usual fine-angled shape.

“Hey,” Andrew says.

He’s not necessarily expecting chattiness, but he is expecting an answer. Instead Neil just stares at him. His eyes are very large, as are his pupils.

“Hi,” he says eventually. He sounds exactly like he’s talking through a mouthful of cotton. The nurse comes in and fiddles with the blood pressure cuff on his arm, and Neil rolls his head around to watch her doing it.

“I’m just going to squash your arm again, okay?” she says, with the manner of someone talking to a child or an adult who is exceptionally out of their mind on drugs.

Neil doesn’t say anything for a moment, and then comes out with, “This is Andrew.”

The nurse flicks Andrew a look and a small smile. “We met, actually. He was waiting outside for you.”

“He’ll always wait for me,” Neil tells her, matter-of-fact. “He’s my partner.”

The nurse’s expression doesn’t change much, but it’s only through power of will, Andrew suspects. She looks like she would love to laugh. “That’s really nice of him.”

“Yeah,” Neil sighs warmly. He’s pathetic.

“I would have recognised him anyway,” the nurse says, still looking amused. “I’m a Rebels fan.”

Neil, who is the biggest Rebels fan in the city, does something that might have been a half-smile if it weren’t for the current state of his face. Then it falls off. Mournfully, he says, “I can’t play this week.”

“No, but you’ll be back out there before you know it,” the nurse comforts. Her name tag says ‘Helen’ and has a yellow flower on it. “Are you playing, Andrew?”

“He’s the starting goalie,” Neil says before Andrew can say anything, almost making it to sounding affronted. Mostly he just sounds loopy. Andrew has never seen him have so many emotional shifts in thirty seconds before.

“I thought he might be stuck looking after you,” Helen replies. “I know what athletes are like.”

“I can look after myself.” That’s a very Neil answer, and also a complete lie. Andrew is banking on Neil being too miserable to want to come to the game in two days, because otherwise he’ll be on the bench in all his swollen-faced glory.

“I’m sure you can,” Helen says, and pats him on the shoulder condescendingly. Neil doesn’t notice at all. “I’ll come back in fifteen minutes and see how you’re doing.”

She bustles back out again, closing the door behind her gently. Neil sighs and rolls onto his side, muttering something indecipherable when the blood pressure cuff gets pulled tight under his body. It doesn’t sound pleased, and it’s definitely not in any language Andrew recognises.

Neil raises his unrestrained hand towards Andrew. It swerves a little in the air. “Can I?”

“Yes,” Andrew says. He’s expecting Neil to take his hand, but he doesn’t flinch when Neil reaches for his face instead. What he currently lacks in coordination he makes up for in gentleness, but Andrew closes his eyes anyway to lower the risk of losing one to a poorly-aimed finger.

“You look weird,” Neil mutters.

You look weird,” Andrew tells him, mostly because it’s true, partly to see Neil wrinkle his nose at him.

“Do not,” Neil replies. He pats Andrew’s cheek, and then gets distracted by Andrew’s hair. That’s not unusual, to be fair, though the level of concentration he’s giving it is. “Hey.”

“Yes?”

“Hey.” More insistently this time, like he doesn’t already have Andrew’s full attention. He tugs Andrew’s hair.

Never let it be said Andrew can’t take a hint. He lowers himself onto his elbows on the edge of the bed and puts his forehead to Neil’s. Even though they’re at odd angles, Neil sighs in satisfaction. His eyelashes flutter against Andrew’s temple, fingers stroking idly over the arch of Andrew’s ear.

“Good,” he mutters, seemingly to himself.

They stay like that, Andrew’s chin pillowed on the starchy sheets and his forehead likely leaving an imprint on Neil’s fairer skin. Neil dozes, hand going lax, and Andrew closes his eyes and thinks in circles for a little while about the Bakhshali Manuscript.

Another knock at the door makes him raise his head. Neil’s eyes flash open, and then he blinks like he’s reeling a little. His fingers have fallen to Andrew’s wrist, and they tighten for a split-second before dropping away.

“Hi again,” Helen says gently. “Let’s get a look at you, Neil.”

Andrew moves aside and lets her at him, ignoring the disgruntled sound this earns from the bed. Neil is distracted quickly by Helen extracting the arm with the cuff from under his body and taking his blood pressure again, before removing it and making him sit up. Then she leaves, and returns with clothes and a clipboard. The clothes she leaves for Neil to attempt to put on. The clipboard she gives to Andrew.

“Rather than it turning out as a discharge form as signed by Alexander Pushkin,” she explains with a shrug. It’s fine, Andrew is all over Neil’s paperwork these days. He flips through the notes and signs in the right places then hands the board back, and gets a sheet of discharge instructions in its place.

“I’ll leave you guys for a sec and sort things,” she says, and does just that. It leaves Andrew to subtly ensure that Neil puts all his clothes on the right body parts. He’s looking less high but still dazed, his eyes hooded but his face pulling tighter. In the fall down, he’s always uncomfortably aware of the abnormality of being out of control of himself. Years later that hasn’t changed. Andrew isn’t surprised.

“You’re good to go,” Helen tells Neil when she returns, and then says to Andrew, “Good luck!”

He would like to think, as he manoeuvres Neil out, that she means for the game on Friday. It’s not likely, though.

Neil falls asleep against the window on the drive home. Andrew prods him awake so he can walk himself into the elevator, where he sags against the wall, and then into the apartment. He shuffles into the bedroom, still making gentle smooching noises at Sir and King as he winds himself into the duvet. He’s out ten seconds later.

Andrew watches for a moment while King curls up beside him and Sir gently begins to groom his hair, and then retreats to the balcony for a cigarette.

Andrew has relocated inside to the couch by the time he hears stirring from the bedroom a few hours later. The Neil who emerges is rumpled but sleepy in a normal sense rather than because of lingering sedation.

He lowers himself gently onto the cushion beside Andrew, and then even more slowly lowers his head down onto Andrew’s thighs.

“Painkillers?” Andrew offers. The discharge notes included strict instructions on dosage and timing, but Neil’s been asleep long enough to be due another couple of pills.

“In a minute,” Neil mumbles, like he’s trying to move his jaw as little as possible. He pats Andrew on the shin. “Stay.”

In an hour Neil’s going to be pissed off and probably a little anxious, wanting to move but knowing he can’t, irritated by the pain. But for now, it’s pretty easy to read a book and play pillow while Neil rests.

give us some soft domestic reddie man

when richie blinks awake, the bedroom is all soft and honey-colored. squinting against the light, richie frowns at the empty space beside him. the sheets are still warm from eddie’s body, and now that it’s morning, everything is a lot easier to make out.

there’s the paneled wood walls, a big square window across from the bed— curtains turned blush pink by the sun— and then there’s a few pictures hanging up beside the door leading out into the hall. mostly dumb pictures of their friends, one of him and eddie at prom that richie put up there during the summer after graduating. it’s just a wall of little moments, little snap shots that are all washed out in richie’s memories this early in the morning.

richie sighs, shutting his eyes again.

he has no clue at all what time it is, but it seems way too early and everything seems way too bright, the muffled clinking noise of pots and pans floating up from the kitchen. richie grins a bit at that, his eyes still closed. there’s eddie’s voice and his own laughter, a muffled sound, and richie wonders when eddie became such a big part of his life— not just the planet he orbits around, but the moon he comes home to.

You had pretty much fallen head over heels for your devastatingly cute neighbor  the very first time you ran into him in the elevator.

He’d looked at you with those twinkling eyes from under his messy hair, and you’d melted on the spot. “I’m Baekhyun,” he’d said, grinning, offering his hand. “How come I’ve never seen you around?”
