i had no idea he did music

The doors of his car slammed shut. She couldn’t help feeling as though she’d caged herself in with the only person she couldn’t stand being alone with. It was strangely quiet without the blaring music and screams of people trying to make themselves heard over the noise. For a second she considered turning on the music like she had done so many times in the past. Instead she put her clenched fingers into her lap. She could feel his eyes on her.
“You wanted to talk.”
“I did.” Drops of rain softly pelted against the windshield, outrunning the beating of her heart. He said nothing, just continued his mute staring, his fingers rapping against the steering wheel. Was he nervous? Annoyed? Irritated? She closed her eyes and inhaled. Slowly. Painfully. It had been a bad idea. This wasn’t going to change anything. It was nothing more than a foolish attempt at damage control. It was already over.
“It’s just - I shouldn’t care what you think of me anymore, right?” The steady rhythm of his fingers stopped and the rain seemed to stop along with it. There was only silence, invincible and awful and all-consuming.
“But I do care. I care what you think. I wonder what goes on in your head when you see me.” More silence. She cleared her throat and continued.
“I wonder if you stop doing whatever it is you’re up to when you hear my name or if you also feel that twinge in the region of your chest like I do. I wonder all the time.”
“Listen.” He looked apologetic and there was pity in the tilt of his chin and in the slow smile of his lips and it hurt to already see his answer on his face.
“I’m sorry. I’m so so sorry. You mean the world to me, you still do, but I can’t love you. Not anymore.” She expected the impact of his words to hit her but the blow never came. They were no surprise.
“It’s not love I want from you. Not anymore,” she echoed his words. And she meant them. A dull sound filled her ears but it wasn’t the rain or the feeble tapping of fingers. It was like her own blood was rushing in her head.
“I want to be seen. I want you to see me. I don’t care if people ignore me or don’t pay attention. But I don’t want to turn into a stranger for you.”
His eyes softened. He leaned in to turn on the music. Her fingers unclenched. It was a song they used to listen to, beautiful high notes and meaningful lyrics, a melody that was so much more than simple chords.
“I see you. I’ve always seen you.” They listened to this song over and over and stared out into the downpour, not talking and not touching. Sometimes silence was all you needed. Sometimes it was enough.

an excerpt

Madonna, a former lover of Jean-Michel Basquiat tells her story

I am not sure if I met Jean-Michel in an art gallery or a night-club, but in those days you couldn’t tell the difference.

He had the presence of a movie star and I was crazy about him. He carried crumpled wads of money in the pockets of his paint-splattered Armani suits. Money he felt guilty about having. Money he always gave away to less fortunate friends.

I remember Jean-Michel’s tag - Samo- which was accompanied with a little crown and I remember thinking he was a genius. He was. But he wasn’t very comfortable with it.

I remember all the girls were in love with him and one night I looked out of his loft window and saw a girl whose heart he had broken, burning his paintings in a big bonfire. I wanted to stop her and rescue his paintings, but he didn’t seem to mind. He said it was their fate.

I remember him getting up at 3am and sleep-walking to an empty canvas. He stood inches away from it and proceeded to paint the most minuscule figures and what he did was so beautiful and intellectual and I stood watching him with dumbfounded amazement

He was one of the people I was truly envious of. But he didn’t know how good he was and was plagued with insecurities. He used to say he was jealous of me because music is more accessible and it reached more people. He loathed the idea that art was appreciated by an elite group.

When I broke up with him he demanded I give back the paintings he had given me. Not because he didn’t think I deserved them, but because he was obsessed with the idea that I would sell them.

He was so paranoid. of course, I was heart-broken but complied. Now I couldn’t buy one of his paintings if I wanted to.

When I heard that Jean-Michel had died I was not surprised. He was too fragile for this world.

I remember one summer having dinner with Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Jean-Michel at Mr Chow’s and feeling like the luckiest girl in the world to have known him. To have known all of them. Now they’re all gone.

@zukotiddies reblogged your response to the post La La Land and added:

This is what La La Land teaches. And as a Black musician, it bothered the everliving fuck out of me. Ryan Gosling’s character is portrayed as keeping jazz alive…by not adding any innovations to it whatsoever??? While John Legend’s character is treated like some kind of shill artist cause he modernizes and makes jazz-hip-hop fusion that actually appeals to people younger than ninety? But this is bad, cause he has sexy twerking backup singers, and jazz was never considered racy back in the day, and was always considered high art.

This is such bullshit, because at first white people thought jazz was all about sex, drugs, and crime and they called it actual, honest-to-goodness Evil-with-a-capital-E. They thought of Cab Calloway the same way they thought of Snoop Dogg. And after it had been around for a while, and they felt comfortable around it, they started appropriating it, watering it down, and acting like they were better at it than the people who created it. I have a record at home of King Olivier’s band, including Louis gotdamn Armstrong before he went solo, like these were the best of the best. And whatever white dude wrote the blurb on the back of the record case called them “the best of the Negro bands” as if that were some lower tier of jazz, as if to say, “they’re alright for Negros I guess.”

This, by the way, is the same process that happened to Rock n Roll, which evolved out of the blues, and therefore out of Negro spirituals and work songs, in the first place.

And, like what was already mentioned, Black people have been innovating and fusing jazz since we created it. If you want an explanation for why older jazz is considered elevator music (New Orleans jazz is my fave, btw) you can look to white people who sanitized it, and started treating it like classical music, like it’s this higher, classier form of entertainment for classy old people to go to the opera house to see, and which should never, ever be changed. The rose-colored nostalgia goggles are the reason why jazz is considered elevator music.

(I’m not reblogging this thread again because I don’t want to put up the gifset yet again, but this reply is worth posting.)

ftr, if anyone finds it hard to believe that Cab Calloway was the Snoop Dogg of his time, he sang about weed and everything:

So I had heard that John Legend’s character was a hack/sellout… I did not know that he was portrayed that way because he did jazz/hip-hop fusion. To me, that’s a fundamental misunderstanding of jazz. It’s great to appreciate the old legends of jazz, of course! But the idea that it should remain “pure” and sound like what was made nearly a century ago is weird and regressive (not to mention, we can love the greats of the early 20th Century, but those time periods mean very different things to white people vs. Black people).

As I sat on a cart backstage I hummed a light tune to myself. I was beyond excited to wrestle tonight and I hoped that my new gear would show that. As I sat there messing with my wrestling gear top I heard two familiar voices. I looked up to see Jeff and Finn arguing about something. I smiled at myself while jumping off the cart and walked up to the two men. “Hey boys. Do you guys like my new gear? It’s not to showy is it?” I did a small turn poking my ass out just a little.

“Yeah baby it looks good. All the men here are gonna get in trouble if you don’t keep your distance.” Jeff said as he raised an eyebrow. He pushed my hip making me turn again. I giggled at the contact.

“Finn, you have anything to say?” I bat my eyelashes at Finn and grabbed his hand.

“Do you always flirt and tease this much?” Finn said as he looked between me and Jeff.

Cause all I have to offer is my love. It’s not enough.

Pages are Right to Left; I wanted?!? to tackle the subject of why Aizawa and All Might didn’t “get along” at a later point in BnHA, and went along with the idea that it’s because Toshinori/All Might was Aizawa’s first “crush”/love and even as it was unrequited in the past, Toshinori never learned to depend on Aizawa which caused a deep frustration to be created.

All Might’s younger design, I did stick with the deep-set shaded eyes still because I thought it would be cool if he wasn’t completely conventionally attracted/still had some appearance quirks.

Hello! Could you please do some RFA + Saeran imagines with MC taking them to the skating rink on Valentine’s day? Thank you, love your imagines a lot^^ @chen-meilin

Yoosung:

  • It was really an impromptu idea to go ice skating
  • Yoosung and you were walking around with hot drinks in hand (from your cafe date) when you both saw that the skating rink was open
  • It was only early afternoon, so why not? There was a lot of time to kill before dinner
  • Yoosung paid for both entering fees (so gentlemanly!)
  • You both got laced up and ready to go!
  • Luckily both you and Yoosung knew how to skate decently and it was really cute even though you acted like every other couple in the rink
  • He held your hand and pulled you along with him, just enjoying talking and spending time with you
  • Leans down to kiss your nose a lot because “It looked cold!”
  • If you got separated from him at any point and see you from a distance, he’d hold his arms wide open for you to skate into, resulting in a big hug!!
  • Skating was a lot of fun!
  • In fact, by the time you both left it was sundown
  • “We should go skating next weekend, MC!”

Jaehee:

  • She’d love to go ice skating for Valentine’s!
  • The only problem is that she’s a little worried because the last time she’s skated was as a child
  • But right when she hopped onto the ice, it was like she never stopped
  • Baehee’s got this
  • She’s having so much fun doing spins and twirling with you, her smiles and laughter is so contagious
  • Luckily for the both of you, there was a cafe in the arena so she definitely stopped there for a break
  • There was a couple’s deal for coffee too! Buy the Valentine’s themed drink with your partner and get them both half off!
  • “MC COME HERE I’M GOING TO GET TWO DRINKS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE”
  • The coffee was a rich chocolaty flavor and the swoosh of warmth in your stomachs was so refreshing
  • After the coffee break you and Jaehee skated together for another hour or so before leaving
  • “I almost forgot how fun ice skating was! We should go again sometime.”

Zen:

  • He’s down for Valentine’s ice skating
  • He actually learned it sometime in the last year for a role where the character he played was an ice skater so Zen was still pretty passionate about ice skating
  • The producers had professionals teach him how to skate so he was really good at it
  • Zen will totally make the whole date as romantic as possible, holding your hand constantly and kissing said hand
  • “Babe, are you cold? Here take my jacket!”
  • Lowkey showing off his skills to you by trying to teach you some of tricks he’s learned
  • This sweetheart will also make sure you don’t get hurt
  • Accidentally slipped? Not happening babe, he’s gonna catch you
  • So happy when the couple’s skate starts and sings to you softly while skating with you around the giant heart they illuminated in the middle of the rink
  • When you get really tired, it’s time to head home
  • But right when you reach the outside, he pulls you in for a deep kiss
  • “I had a fun night tonight, I love you.”

Jumin:

  • “Ice skating for Valentine’s Day?”
  • “Yeah!! It’ll be really fun, Jumin!”
  • You bet he rented out the entire rink much to other’s couple’s dismay for Valentine’s Day
  • While you knew how to skate, Jumin did not
  • He insisted on having a trainer come out and teach him but you happily said that you could teach him
  • Jumin liked that idea more because you were so sweet and patient with him
  • Your hands were always securing his balance unless he was trying to skate a short distance
  • It took a little while, but he could keep up with you now!
  • Relaxing romantic music played in the arena while you and Jumin idly skated about while talking
  • He actually found ice skating quite fun with you, maybe he should try this more often
  • “Thank you, MC. I would have never gotten to experience this if not for you.”

707:

  • The local lake froze over and dammit Saeyoung wanted to get his fill on the childhood he never got
  • So he dragged you there on Valentine’s day at midnight, where there would be no people around
  • Admittedly, it was a little creepy being in an empty park but thankfully they kept the lights on around the lake in case that wackos like Saeyoung come at midnight
  • He had his skates on in a flash and got frustrated when you took too long, so he did them quickly for you
  • Right when you were ready, he ran onto the ice
  • This guy is such a big show off, he’s doing jumps and twirls with a huge smile on his face
  • “AM I I LIKE THE GUYS FROM YURI ON ICE YET, MC??” he yells over to you
  • He’s so goofy, chasing you around the lake and trying to tackle you
  • You’re so happy to see that he’s having a good time, it’s worth the cold and tiredness
  • Around 3am was when he deemed too tired to continue
  • He skated up behind you, wrapping his arms around your neck and resting his chin on your shoulder
  • “Thanks for letting me fill in my missing childhood, MC. This was the best Valentine’s Day so far.”

Unknown:

  • “What’s Valentine’s Day got to do with ice skating?”
  • He wasn’t so fond with being in a crowded rink so you took him to a lake deep in the woods where nobody really went
  • It was serene and beautiful surrounding
  • You laced up your skates and Saeran’s as well since he didn’t really know how
  • He didn’t really know how to skate either since he never got the opportunity to
  • You carefully guided him around, but he was still having a lot of trouble
  • It took a good portion of your time there to teach him how to skate on your own, but he admitted that he kind of liked you constantly holding him
  • So even when he learned, you still held on to him
  • When he got tired, it was time for a break! You packed hot chocolates in the thermos and boy did they warm you up
  • “Thank you for taking me here, MC…Happy Valentine’s Day? That’s what I’m supposed to say, right?”
Halfway (Lin-Manuel x Reader)

Summary: You and Lin are extremely domestic, but not dating. Lin asks you to move in with him anyways.
Low-key inspired by this quote:
“Date someone who meets you halfway. Date someone who brings you a glass a water when they get themselves one. Date someone who makes sure you don’t spend money on ridiculous things. Date someone your ex hates and your mom loves. Date someone who’d rather spend a Friday night watching movies, than out with 50 people they barely even talk to. Date someone who sleeps on your chest and leaves a little puddle of drool. Don’t date someone who makes you leave oceans of tears.”

Word Count: 1,203

Warnings: Cheesy ending? Mentions of jazz? I’m not sure.

A/N: Hi! I’m back at it again. Never in a million years did I think I’d ever get a single note on any of my writing, so the fact that I did get notes just has me over the moon. I might have a few fics already planned out because I have a free weekend and zero chill?

Side note: If you don’t know who Miles Davis is and have the time you should watch the movie Miles Ahead. Guy was wack.
________________________________

“Cariña,” Lin softly called out to you, drawing your attention away from your notebook. You looked up to see him offering you a glass of water and you were suddenly aware of how dry your throat was. You had spent a considerable amount of time with your only form of communication being the words you were scrawling across the pages of your notebook. You dropped your pen into the pages and set it aside, flexing your hand before accepting the glass with a grateful smile.

“Thank you, love.” you cooed back, taking a large drink. You set it on the edge of his desk that was only a few feet away from the window seat you were currently sitting in. He sat at his desk, flipping open his laptop, the screen illuminating his face in a way that the diminishing sunlight had ceased to do hours ago. This was your usual spot, Lin working away at his desk while you sat in the window overlooking New York. Your eyes had been drawn back to the pages causing you to miss the way Lin looked up at you, admiring the curve of your lips and the glint of your eyes as your mind seemed to pick right back up where your pen had previously stopped. There was a time when you had used to move straight out of his line of vision the moment he sat down at his desk, much to his dismay. It took a couple of weeks until Lin finally got the nerve to tell you to stay where you were and it had been your designated space ever since.

'Once Upon a Time' Stars on Snow and Charming Twist

Warning: This story contains major spoilers from Sunday’s episode of Once Upon a Time. Read at your own risk!

There’s some good news and bad news for the Charming family after Sunday’s episode of Once Upon a Time.

First, the good news: After weeks of being in a sleeping curse in which only one of them was awake at any given moment, Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming (Josh Dallas) broke free of the curse thanks to the residents of Storybrooke all drinking a bit of the potion and diluting its magic.

The bad news: Their heartbreaking backstory is, well, even more heartbreaking than we already knew. During the first Dark Curse, Mary Margaret unwittingly delivered a flower with magical pixie dust that woke John Doe. That means Snow and Charming were actually together, but unable to reunite with their daughter, who was prophesied to return after 28 years to break the curse. Hence, they took a potion to once again wipe their memories and let fate take its course.

On the plus side, the Charmings have something to celebrate with the return of Hook (Colin O’Donoghue), who promptly and properly proposed to Emma (Jennifer Morrison) at the close of Sunday’s episode. Twist: Their wedding is the musical episode! (Get more details here.) Below, Goodwin and Dallas talk about the surprise twist in the Charmings’ past when EW hit the set ahead of the musical episode.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How did you react when you learned Snow and Charming did wake up during the curse?
JOSH DALLAS: It’s totally heartbreaking, and I think that goes back to that idea that they blame themselves, and he does a lot. He blames himself, “Maybe he could have done something different. Maybe she could have had a different life. Maybe she could have stayed in the Enchanted Forest. Maybe it would have been fine. She would have been that princess, and she would have had that life.” Yeah, I think that’s something he wrestles with a lot; it’s definitely something that impacts him deeply.
GINNIFER GOODWIN: It was hard for me to relate in real life because, especially now that I have children, I wholeheartedly, selfishly would have just taken care of myself and my immediate family, gross as that may be. So it was hard to find a more generous place in my spirit, but I found what Snow did to be of the utmost integrity and very Snow White-esque; very in keeping with her character.

Talk about Snow and David’s reunion after waking from the sleeping curse.
GOODWIN: It is like many Once Upon a Time reunions. It is dramatic and brief in elation in our realizing immediately that something else is going on.

Isn’t that how it always is in Storybrooke?
GOODWINGOODWIN: It is how it always is.
DALLAS:DALLAS: Well it’s always good to see Snow White’s eyes, and to hold her, and she’s awake, and coherent. Yeah. It was nice to get out of it for sure.

How do Charming and Snow feel about their daughter getting married in the midst of the Black Fairy drama?
GOODWIN: What is the word for the bridezilla mom? Well, we’re going to invent one. She’s like Mother of the Bridezilla. No, she’s like Motherzilla of the Bride. She’s all things wedding all the time.

Does David agree with her?
GOODWIN: He’s going to have to if he wants peace at home.

Will this cause a divide between them?
GOODWIN: Yeah. It might cause some comedy.
DALLAS: Snow is pushing through, and she wants to have it, like, the public, the people, need this in order to keep hope alive. To see something good happening amongst all this badness; that is a great point, and there is something to it, but I feel David feels that, yeah, getting married to Snow was the best day of his life, but then what happened right after was the worst day of his life. It’s a very similar situation that’s happening here with the Final Battle, and then what’s going to happen? He doesn’t want that for her, and he wants her just to be able to get married, and be happy, and not have all this other stuff that’s going on like Snow and Charming had. He’s definitely reserved. He’s focused on getting all of that done and over with, so she can be free, and free to marry, and just live her life as opposed to going into this Final Battle.

What can you tease about the musical?
DALLAS: I’ve just been screeching away in my trailer trying to learn the stuff. The singing comes out of something. It’s not just arbitrary, like we’re just singing, so it’s part of something — could be a curse or could be a spell, it could be something that translates itself into song.
GOODWIN: I am singing, maybe much to everyone’s detriment I am singing. I asked them to put me in the background, and they did not, so we’ll just see what happens. I can’t karaoke. I’ve only pulled off singing when I’ve been animated, so this is going to be a very vulnerable experience for me.

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Come to think of it… why do we even need to leave right now?

I’ll be honest, I had no idea what I was doing with him after I’ve gone past the lineart and flats stages. My brain kinda went, “Whoa, Wheatman is bad now! Better make 75% of this thing purple shadows and put some glow-y red crap on dem eyesssss!”

Although while I did this I was imagining how Musical!Wheatley looked like as he said the line stated above as he was turning towards Chell, glasses off. Maybe just think about that.

Camouflage/ Spencer Reid Imagine

A/N: This is my first story that I’m actually putting on tumblr, wish me luck! I have no problem writing a part two if anyone requests it!

Summary: A work related road trip gets a little too hard.

Usually having a new case meant a quick flight across the states, but this time the case was only a couple hours away which only meant one thing, a road trip.

The team had been splitting up into two cars the past couple months just to help ease the tension between you and Spencer.

You two had been together for three years until a small disagreement turned into a massive fight. He insisted on having kids and that was something you just did not see yourself wanting.

Hotchner pulled you aside to let you know JJ wouldn’t be able to make it on a count of coming down with the flu so there was really no reason in taking two cars.

Oh no. Three hours alone with the man you could barely look at?

Your face turned a little red hinting at being slightly scared mixed with nerves.

“It’ll be okay Y/N. We’ll all be there.” Hotch rested his hand on your shoulder trying to comfort you.

“Thanks Aaron.” You gave a half smile looking up at him and remained standing there until he returned to his desk.

You looked over at Spencer who was putting a couple books and crosswords into his bag for the road trip.

“This will certainly be something..” you mumbled to yourself.

~~

"I vote Y/N on driving first!” David shouted putting his bag into the trunk of the car.

"I second that notion, I could use some down time before we get into this mess.” Derek added on to David peering around the vehicle smirking at you.

Oh alright fine. But I get to play my music without complaints!” You yelled back laughing knowing they wouldn’t be very thrilled at that idea.

Emily laughed, “Oh I’m down for this road trip.”

Rossi rolled his eyes climbing into the back seat of the car, “Its a good thing I brought headphones.”

As you maneuvered into the drivers seat you couldn’t help but notice Spencer had crawled to the very back of the SUV. He looked like someone had taken the life right out of him, your heart dropped a little realizing it was most likely you who did that.

Morgan had called shot gun during the meeting earlier so you were expecting criticism on your driving the entire way there, but you needed something to distract you anyway.

 ~~

About an hour into the trip, you noticed David and Emily were completely passed out in the second row. Spencer had headphones in as well as Morgan so you figured it was safe to use the aux.

You scrolled through your thousands of songs on your phone not having a clue what to listen to.

One Direction? No, too girly. The Weekend? No, too upbeat for the two sleeping.

Some Selena Gomez seemed like the only thing to really fit the mood. You felt like a teenager listening to her but couldn’t help yourself.

You pressed play on the song and sat your phone down on your lap. Your leggings were so thin that you could feel how cold your phone was.

dead end streets and boulevards you threw in the towel, I broke your heart

No one seemed fazed by the sudden music in the car as you started to mouth the words.

Spencer hadn’t actually had music playing in his headphones but rather just had them in so no one would talk to him. Except no one was talking, it was actually very quiet until you began playing music. He started secretly listening while reading his book.

who would’ve thought you’d feel so cold and all these memories seem so old to think you were my everything

Spencer looked up at you driving while hearing the lyrics in this song. He’d never heard this song before but remembered how you’d sometimes use music to relate to whatever you were feeling.

remember when we’d talk all night but time ain’t easy on us how can love die?

You felt your stomach turn a little knowing how this song made you miss Spencer so much than you already did.

As a few tears were building up, you started to speed up over the limit but hadn’t really noticed.

fortress around my heart you were mine just yesterday now I have no idea who you are it’s like you camouflage.

Although, Spencer had noticed the sudden increase of speed and knowing you were upset, it wasn’t a good mix. It broke his heart to see you like this but he knew there was no going back to the way things used to be.

Before Spence got the chance to get a word out you had ripped the aux out of the jack and put your turn signal on to get off at the rest area.

Rossi had woken up once the car was jerked onto the off ramp and looked up to see a few tears rolling down your cheek, but had no time to get his bearings and ask what was going on before you parked the car and hopped out.

Emily jumped at the sudden slam of your door, “Oh is this a potty break?”

"I think it’s a little more.” Derek mumbled under his breath.

"What was that?” Emily couldn’t hear his mumbles if she were paid.

Derek shook his head so she’d let it go and go back to sleeping.

Rossi got out of the car and looked back at Spencer, “Go. Now.”
Spencer nodded setting his stuff down ducking to get out from the SUV.

For a rest area the bathroom was the smallest it could possibly be. It only had two stalls and a terribly dim vanity.

You sat in the first stall and started letting your tears fall down as quietly as possible trying not to sniffle every five seconds.

Spencer reached the bathroom door and heard you struggling to choke back your sobs. That killed him.

A small knock on the door came and you cleared your throat, “there’s two stalls, come in!”

Spencer sighed, “it’s me.”

You felt tears returning to your eyes hearing his voice. You couldn’t do this right now, not with a case that your team was counting on you to get them to.

You tore a piece of toilet paper and wiped your eyes so he wouldn’t notice you were upset.

You walked out of the door trying to ignore him leaning against the wall. You headed towards the exit really not wanting any confrontation.

"Y/N, stop.” Spencer reached out putting his hand on your arm.

"Uh uh. Not here. I’m hurt enough and if I talk to you things will just get worse. We’re fire and gasoline. Like you said, I’ll never be able to give you what you want. Remember?”

so this needs to be said about choi youngjae

okay so I’m making this post for my only love because I feel like I have to chime into this and make a post and I can’t say all I need to in tags

my baby sun choi youngjae is the strongest person in that goddamn group and I’m gonna tell y’all why

here we go

  • trained for really one month okay he might have been in the company for seven but that boy only got a month before he was put into got7 and those other six months were just for preparing for debut so really he got a month of solid training
  • was immediately the least liked member because of how adorably awkward he was and how he wasn’t sexy/hot or baby cute honestly this argument makes no sense cause he was fucking adorable when he debuted but okay
  • was made fun of and not taken seriously as a main vocal cause he didn’t really have any parts in girls, girls, girls like seriously it wasn’t his decision it was JYP and the only reason he didn’t sing much was cause he just came into the company and they had to see his vocal limits
  • was bullied on national television by jackson ((I know it was just for the audience but it wasn’t funny to me)) and made a laughing stock in igot7 but did not retaliate in the slightest
  • always ignored by fans until he lost a dramatic amount of weight which honestly scares me so much you have no idea how worried I am
  • always picked on for his insecurities and flaws by fans but just smiles and waves for them and is so pure and beautiful
  • was given no close ups during music broadcasts and is always shunned to the back or a corner cause fans don’t like him as much as other members which really shatters my heart
  • is sent hate on a regular basis whenever they do lives and when he posts photos on instagram and twitter but doesn’t say anything about it
  • diets so hard to look “beautiful” for all of us like how sick are we that he thinks that the only way he’ll be loved by the fans is if he is skinny
  • performed while sick for the fans and still got hate cause he wasn’t smiling or anything and whenever he looks tired on stage he is always criticized but whenever others are tired, they’re given love and support like they all deserve
  • legitimately shocked when people call him handsome like can you imagine how many times he’s been told otherwise for him to have that kind of reaction it breaks my heart
  • gets hate when he doesn’t get enough lines, gets hate when he gets too many lines, gets hate cause he isn’t a perfect dancer ((but y’all have nothing to say when anyone else messes up)) gets hate from just doing what he loves

in conclusion choi youngjae is the strongest member of got7 who has never retaliated on anyone and has never complained about the hate he receives and I know already that there are gonna be people who argue with me and say jackson or jaebum are the strongest members but honestly you are missing the whole fucking point yes those boys are strong but no one has to deal with the shit youngjae does and it appalls me that people can say so much negative and awful shit about him like really fuck you

Conor Maynard Imagine - Practicing (SMUT)

You had thought that, when that day came, you would be on seventh heaven. When you first told your parents that you wanted to pursue the acting career in London, they had tried to convince you to do otherwise. Trying to make a living out of acting in such a talented city like London was a long shot. But you were determined.

And in fact, after a little less than a year of failed auditions and poorly-paid advertisement roles, your all time longed dream finally knocked at your door.

You thought that getting the leading role in a film that would be translated into too many languages for you to remember was going to have you balling on cloud nine, and to make you happy. But you weren’t so sure about the last part.

“Y/N, calm down little one, it’s gonna be alright” Conor assured you as he stood up in the middle of your living room, watching you pace back and forth “You’re an actress, you know what you’re doing, you can do this”

You sighed “The truth is, Conor, that I really don’t fucking know”

You had met Conor on set a few months after moving to London. You had just finished filming some crappy, awkward TV advert, when you accidentally invaded his dressing room. He saw your disgusted face, and your relationship started from there.

At first, it had just been faint attraction. You met up a couple of times after that day, and he turned out to be quite the funny, nice lad you had always doubted you would meet in such an intimidating city. You saw nothing special about him, nothing hot, nothing to fall for.

Until that one day. Conor was one of your very few friends at that time, your only guy friend for that matter. All your other friends were far too pretty and love-successful for you to go and wine about your last failed Tinder date. And so you magically appeared on Conor’s doorstep one night, asking for a friend you could vent to. He happily let you in, held you for the rest of the night, and made sure your heart recovered.

Little did he know that your heart had recovered because it started beating again. But this time it was for him.

“Don’t tell me you’ve never hooked up with anybody” he said, making you stop on your tracks. This was definetly a conversation you didn’t want to have with him.

You gave him a look, and no more words were needed “I didn’t know you were…” he started, visibly too embarrassed to finish.

“Shrug it off” you said “It’s not really a big deal for me. It’s just that I didn’t want my first time to be with someone I don’t know, let alone him” you complained.

It turned out that your first big movie role happened to involve sexual intercourse. You weren’t sure if acting out the scene really meant doing it, or just faking it. But you had signed up a contract. The director had insisted many times, and you constanly told him that you were okay with doing whatever was needed for the scene. It was your very first oportunity to be someone out there, and you weren’t going to waste it because of a 2 minute scene in bed.

Conor raised an eyebrow “What’s the matter with him?”

“I’ve been doing some reseach on this co-star of mine and…” you sighed again, running a hand through your hair “Let’s say he’s quite big headed”

Conor nodded “I get it” he said, getting closer to you as he opened his arms for you to give him a hug. And so you did, burrying your face on the crook of his neck, inhaling his strong yet mangneting scent “Is there anything I can do?” he asked softly.

You shook your head gently. You had to face the music, and there was no going back. You had gotten yourself into that situation. At least you hoped it would turn out to be worthy.

“I have an idea” Conor suddenly spoke “I’ve got a friend, Ryan, who used to be an actor here in London” you popped your head up to look at him, an eyebrow raised. Where was he going with this? “I once accompained him to shoot some scenes, and one of them happened to be a sex scene, right?” you nodded, not really sure what he was implying.

“I know how they’re filmed, and I know what each person does because I heard the director giving instructions and tips” he said, and it instantly clicked on your mind “I don’t think it’ll be much different from what you have to do. So, only if you want, we can practice a little”

Your heart suddenly started racing. Practicing a sex scene? With Conor? Was this one of your all time wet dreams or something?

You gulped “You don’t have to do this” you said, scared to even look at him in the eye.

You felt his hands on your upper waist, feeling firmer each second that passed. Were you going mad? “Hey, I want to” he said, looking you in the eye in a way you had never seen before. He looked much more…mysterious.

“Okay, fine” you gave in as your right hand went to rub your eye “We can do it now if you want to”

You led him to your bedroom, a place where he had been too many times, but not like that. It felt weird and exciting at the same time. Once you opened the bed, Conor started taking his shirt off. You didn’t realize you had been staring.

“I think we should keep our underwear, though” he laughed as he unbuckled his pants. You gave him a small smile as you started unbottoning your shirt, not really sure what in the world you were doing.

Once you both had stripped down to your underwear, you got inside the covers as Conor sat slowly next to you. You could tell he was flustered “Did…did the script say what position you were in?” he asked, visibly uncomfortable. You didn’t blame him.

“Yeah…um…the guy would be on top” you said awkwardly “It’s an average looking sex scene, nothing too luxurious”

Conor let out a small chuckle “Right” he said as he slowly got under the covers beisdes you “You sure you want to do this?” he asked once again “I’m not going to hurt you, if you want me to stop just say it”

You nodded, unexpectidly feeling more relaxed. The thought of Conor being on top of you was too irresistible for your mind to handle. But you should act normally. He only saw you as a friend, he had no interest in you at all. And your role for the day was to pretend you didn’t feel the slightlest tingle when he touched you, either.

He slowly positioned himself on top you, resting his body weight on his hands, which were pressed down on the bed right at your sides. You felt so exposed, so vulnerable to have him right above you, both of you half naked.

“You alright?” he asked you as he sensed the tension.

“Yeah, I just…feel quite weird in this…situation” you lauged nervously. Conor smiled softly at you as one of his hands went to your cheek. You froze. What-what was he doing?

“Relax, it’s just me” he said softly, looking at you in the kindest way you had ever seen him “Okay, tell me how the scene goes”

You nodded, trying to mentally go back to the script “Right so, we enter the room making out heavily and stuff, and he pulls me down the bed…in this position, more or less” he nodded, so you continued “Um…then we keep kissing and he starts undressing me and I start undressing him”

“We’ve already reached that part” he laughed.

You smiled up at him “After that he whispers something in my ear - I don’t really remember what - and he starts kissing my neck slowly until…well, you know what comes next” you laughed nervously again.

“Seems quite easy” he said “What exactly are you most nervous about?”

“I guess I just don’t feel comfortable enough with the idea of someone I don’t know kissing me and touching me in those ways” you said, and suddenly Conor’s mind flooded with images of you being touched by another man, and he started boiling. What the hell was wrong with him? Since when did he get so protective of anyone? “Plus, I’ve never slept with anyone, so I wouldn’t know what to do”

“And you think you would be more comfortable if you knew how it felt beforehand” he stated. You nodded. That was exactly what you needed “Okay, let’s do it then”

He adjusted himself again, and so did you “Remember to stop me whenever you want”

“Okay” you whispered as you felt Conor’s breath on your neck already.

He rubbed his nose against your skin for a few seconds, and you immediately closed your eyes. He was so gentle, your back was already almost arched. Then, he slowly started to plant a few kissed behind your ear, as one of his hands steadily held your waist.

Your hand instinctively went to the back of his neck, massaging swiftly the hair on his lower head. His lips suddenly parted aways, and he wasn’t giving you small kisses anymore. Slowly, he started making out with your neck in such a passionate way that you felt a sudden ache between your legs. What was going on with you?

Your other hand found Conor’s arm gripping at your waist, and you held it for support. His make-out session eventually stopped, and he lifted himself up again a little to look at you “Did you like that?” he asked, and you nodded. It wasn’t weird anymore. Now, you just wanted more.

He then planted a sweet, unexpected kiss on your lips before leaning in again, repeating his past actions on your mouth. You felt so damn good. You didn’t even suspect he was such a good kisser, the way his lips moved on yours making you hungry for more.

You tangled both of your arms around his neck as he placed his hands at the back of your now arched back, making sure he wouldn’t crush you. His tongue slipped in inside your mouth, exploring every inch slowly. You felt his hands on your lower waist, and his impressive bulge on your stomach, and you couldn’t supress a low moan.

It wasn’t until that little cry left your mouth than you realized you weren’t practicing anymore. You wanted him, all of him, and you didn’t want that moment to end. Your body had never felt so damn good, and it was all because of him.

Suddenly, you felt his hand reach the hook of your bra, and you instinctively held your breath. He noticed, stopping abruptly “Shit, I’m…” he mumbled, the hot, passionate bubble that you had created now being long gone “I don’t know what to say” he said, visibly embarrassed.

But you couldn’t keep your eyes off of him “Con” you whispered softly, your hand suddenly travelling to his cheek. You caressed it caringly as he leaned in into your touch.

He looked at you again, the same loving smile than before plastered on his face. You guided his head lower until your lips met again, more sweetly this time. He held you again as you felt smaller and smaller under his touch, so protected and loved.

“Are you sure you want this, Y/N?” he whispered, his lips barely leaving yours.

You nodded softly, drawing his lips back to yours again. His hand then went again to your back and slowly unclasped your bra. He trailed a few kisses down your neck, removing your bra slowly as he cupped your breast on his mouth. Your hands went to the back of his head, pulling him closer.

“Conor” you breathed out steamily “What…what am I to you?” you managed to ask, not sure at all what you were after that moment.

He kept on sucking at your nipples for a few seconds before he released his lips from your skin. He kissed you “I…I like you a lot, Y/N” he said, and you could tell he was flustered “I care a lot about you, you…you are my little one”

You smiled up at him, recalling how cute he looked when he called you by your nickname. You felt so special, so loved, so close to him “I like you a lot too” you chuckled slightly.

He kissed you, smiling as he did so. Your hands slowly travelled to the waistband of his boxers, eager to finally pull them down. You were scared, but at the same time, it was Conor the one taking care of you. You knew you were going to be alright, safe.

He helped you out, pulling his underwear down as he watched your face turn more and more scared. He almost felt bad, but he knew he’d take good care of you. Not long afterwards, your panties also flew to the other side of the room. You were completely naked.

“Are you on the pill?” he asked you softly.

You nodded as you felt the time coming. You felt so wet already, a burning pain tingling between your legs. He kissed you one last time before you felt the tip of his member teasing you at your entrance. You unconsciously opened your legs wider.

He locked your lips with his as he slowly entered you, making you flinch at the sudden sensation. His hand went to your face as he whispered calming things into your ear “It’s fine, Y/N” he breathed out “You’re fine”

When he was finally inside you, you found it hard to breath normally. He was huge, and you were so tight, little moans repeatedly escaped your mouth “Conor…” you whimpered.

He started moving up and down slowly in such swift moves, you immediately felt the pain stopping. Instead, it was replaced by a weird sensation. It was pleasing, it was filling you in but not completely, and you suddenly felt the urge to reach the top.

He moved faster every time, and before you knew it, you were a moaning mess. He kept groaning into your neck as he rapidly slid in and out of you, holding you tight as he did so. You had never felt so good, and it was driving you crazy.

“Oh god, Conor” you whimpered, digging your fingernails on his back “I feel so close…”

“Fuck, Y/N” he groaned, and you thought it was the sexiest thing you had ever  heard from him. Just a few moments later, you screamed in pleasure as he filled you in, riding you out of climax, as you dug your nails on his back even deeper.

Eventually, he moaned loudly just like you had done ealier, and you couldn’t believe that you, of all the people, had made him feel such things. Maybe it was time you stopped understimating yourself.

He pulled out of you, leaving an empty sensation. He lied down next to you, still holding you at your waist, as he planted a few kisses on your forehead “That was amazing, Y/N” he said, and you felt yourself blushing.

You kissed his forehead “Stop being so cute” you said as you felt his thumb rubbing your side softly.

He planted a small kiss on your jaw “Thanks for caring for me so much” you mumbled softly, almost without thinking.

He kissed you again as he cupped your cheek with his big hand, and you felt like you would get used to it. Used to waking up next to him everyday, taking care of him forever “Thank you for being the best thing I’ve ever had, little one”

anonymous asked:

Plus when V came into the room Jungkook was still trying to tie his robe together. Why are you still trying to tie your robe? Isn't that what took so long to answer the door because in the first place? Jungkook also kept acting really strange the entire time. He was looking everywhere and was hella nervous. Not to mention he had no idea V was even coming to his room. Jimin and Jungkook were up to no good and V knew it and trolled them to the highest degree

Anon’s first message: I agree with you about the jikook video. Jimin was definitely in that room with Jungkook. I believe that they were having some “personal” time. 1. Jungkook was naked in his room and it took him forever to open the door. If he wasn’t doing anything shady why did he take so long to answer the door? 2. Jungkook had the mood set just right. The lights were dim and he had music playing. Why would he have the lights dim and soft music playing
—-

Yes!!!! Like I’m not saying they were getting it on, but it was definitely an intimate and romantic moment between the two. It’s just so suspicious that Jungkook had this soft ass music playing through some speakers with the lights all dimmed and no clothes on. Like, no offense but, thats just hella fucking romantic okay. And THE ROBE THING!!!! Okay so this boy says hes naked then takes over a minute to get a robe on, then it turns out he didnt even have the robe tied ???? like um ???? how long does it take to throw on a robe???? and like im not saying nothing but its basically a proven fact that jungkook was nervous af in that vlive. almost as if…. jimin….. was hiding……. from the camera…… bc they …… had just been doing…… something……
Also Tae is literally the loml (like no joke, hes my ult bias) and the fact that he trolled them so much while simultaneously trying to make sure it wasnt obvious jimin was there just makes me so proud.

RFA (+V and Saeran) and their first kiss with MC <3

I know that so many people did this already but I wanted to soooo badly >_< also in this HC let´s pretend they didn´t kiss okay?

_Yoosung_

° he invited you over for a round of LOLOL

° you were together for over a month now and it pissed you off that all you ever did was playing games 。゜(`Д´)゜。

° sure, you loved playing together with him but….

° all in all it felt more like a good friendship than a romantic relationship

° and you didn´t like that (;¬_¬)

° so you made up a plan and today would be the day

° the day of your first kiss with your boyfreind Yoosung

° that meant you had to be extra pretty tonight o(^▽^)o

° when he opened the door for you he was shocked

° but of course in a good way XD

° “Woah, MC you look so pretty. Is something important Happening today?”

° oh you sweet, clueless boy……

° here MC´s masterplan began

° “Does that mean I´m usual not pretty?”

° yeah, it was this exact strategy

° “No you always look pretty MC!”

° “So you want to say I look as always? Yoosung you treat me as a friend and not a girlfriend. I sometimes think you don´t even love me!”

° you took acting lessons from Zen so you even managed to cry a little

° “But MC of course I love you !!! I just don´t want  to rush things.”

° now he cried too…

° “No, you don´t. You didn´t even kissed me yet.”\| ̄ヘ ̄|/

° so that was the reaseon you were so unhappy …..

° no Yooosung u serious??? what a brain..

° he never knew that you felt this way and he was ashamed

° so he did as asked, kinda….

° it was mostly crushing his nose against yours

° soooo embarassing (*゚ー゚)ゞ

° but hey, you had reached your Goal (he kissing you first) and now you kissed him

° but the right way, as often as you could <3</p>

_Jaehee_

° we don´t have to pretend much here…only that they´re together

° you were frustrated

° why woulden´t she kiss you ??

° you always brushed your teeth, didn´t look that bad and never ate garlic when you met with her..

° so why?

° you then did the last thing you could think of…..

° asking the one person who knew everything……….Seven (ノ^∇^)ノ゚

° you spoke with him over the phone and agreed to meet up

° his house was messy as always and there were Ph. Pepper cans all over the floor ⁽(◍˃̵͈̑ᴗ˂̵͈̑)⁽

° “Hey Seven, thanks for helping me out.”

° “No Problem MC, you helped the RFA so much why shoulden´t I help you?”

° something was fishy with how he spoke but he was alwys a bit weird

° “So MC, you told me there was something you can´t tell her directly regarding your relationship.”

° you didn´t told him everything, in case Jaehee came back or was eavesdropping

° what she would never do

° “That´s right. You know I really appreciate waht she does for me and she´s alws nice and stuff but-”

° you heard something, or someone fall over and hit the floor

° your first thought was that Saeran tripped beacuse who else should be at Seven´s house?? (・_・ヾ

° but nooo, it was Jaehee ????「(°ヘ°)

° “Jaehee, what are you doing here??!”

° “Seven tolde me you wanted to talk with him about me. And I thought you were going to break up!”

° now you were confused, why would she think that?

° you loved her with all your heart so why would want to break up?

° “ Jaehee why would I want to break up?”

° “You know MC, it really sounded a bit like that..”

° thank you very much Seven

° then she kissed you, out of the blue

° “MC don´t break up with me I love you!!”

° “Jaehee, I won´t break up with you. I just wanted to ask Seven why you woulden´t kiss me. I thought you wanted to break up.”

° and then there was a super cute confessing-scene which almost landed online thanks to Seven

° but Saeran nicely convinced him otherwise… ( ° ʖ °)

_Zen_

° this one will be quick XD

° we all know he will get to the thing as soon as he can ( ° ʖ °)

° but you were a little shy regarding this matter

° since Zen´s praying that all men are beasts he understands and protects you from the beast

° but every patience comes to an end, even Zen´s

° so he worked out a masterplan, as he called it

° doing stuff a couple would do in the publich was off-limit for you

° you didn´t want for Zen to be in a scandal or hurt his carreer

° and Jaehee would probably kill you

° so it had to be at home, where no one saw what you did and you had all the privacy you wanted (ノ^∇^)

° he only could hold back so long because you agreed to move in with him

° moving in without even kissing MC??? SRLY???

° you were away Shopping and he had one of his rare free days

° meaning it was the perfect chance for him to fullfil said plan

°  when you came back home you didn´t expect to see Zen in the livingroom

° a livingroom full of roses and chocolate

° “Zen, what happend to the living room ?”

° don´t get me wrong, you loved what you saw and were really happy but you didn´t quite undertstand why he did that..

° and then you sneezed, loud and then again and again

° allergies suck, right?

° “Zen I-achoo!, really appreciate what you did but plea-achoo, please put them out I have allergies.”

° okay, maybe his plan didn´t go that well

° he hurried and put all of the flowers away, so his last hope was the chocolate

° “I´m sorry MC, I didn´t knew that. But I also have some chocolate for you.”      (。♥‿♥。)

° felt bad for Zen so you took a bite

° buuuuut it had nuts in there…..

° did I mention how allergies suck?

° it ended with Zen calling the ambulance because of your allergies

° guess the masterplan wasn´t that much of a succes?

° “I´m so sorry princess. I guess you wanna break up now?”

° “No. why should I? It´s been a long time since someone did sucha nice thing for me. But why did you do that in the first place?”

° “Just forget it MC. Nothing important in the end.” sigh

° poor Zenny

° “Well, whatever, I still think your the sweetest boyfriend walking on earth.” <3

° and because the best boyfriend only deserved the best, you kissed him

° RIP Zen ( ≧Д≦)

° no, srly you almost had to call the doctor because of the bloodloss through his nose XD

° maybe the plan failed but in the end he got what he wanted now hide yourself from the beast MC

_Jumin_

° I don´t count the kiss infront of Sarah as a real couple-kiss

° so after you moved in with him permanently he still was a bit hesistant

° he already forced himself on you and didn´t want to do it again

° after all he was raised to be a gentelman XD

° you could kind of sense that but in return you didn´t want to push him and express his Feelings

° you knew it was all new and a bit difficult for him

°  but the result was that you both were Holding back for each others sake

° that means both of you were frustrated

° and when Jumin Han was frustrated he got pissed…. like really pissed

° and that means more work for poor Jaehee (⌣_⌣”)

° so she called you to ask if everything is alright betwee you two

° “MC, Mr. Han is very…. tense for a while now. Do you have any idea why that is so?”

° you did, kind of..

° “I think I have an idea why, I will talk to him today, I´m sorry if he caused you trouble.”

° you knew you had to do the second-first-step

° it shouldn´t be that hard right?

° hahaha

° this evening he came home even later than usual

° you made dinner for yuo two and played some nice music in the background

° “Hi Jumin,, Jaehee said you´re stressed lately. Is something wrong?”

° “No, what should be wrong?”

° whenever he was bound short he was stressed or annoyed

° “But you´re bringing home more work than usual these days.”

° “MC, please. I am just busier than normally. It has nothing to do with anything.”

° so he was stressed

° “Hey Juimin, I know what to do when you´re stressed and worn out.”

° he looked up, probably to hear what you had to say or say something himself

° but you were a lot quicker

° you gave him a kiss

° “MC, I think you Need to take responsibility for what you have done.”

° he got up and walked towards you, till you hit the door leading to the bedroom

° I think you can guees what happend next ( ° ʖ °)

_Saeyoung/Seven_

° after you became a couple he mostly spend his time at the Hospital with Saeran

° so no time for you :(

° but you understood, if it was your brother you´d likely do the same

° but nevertheless it hurt that he left you alone like that

° he started to build his walls again and left you out

° nooo, don´t go back there  (;へ:)

° you treid you best to help and do all the cleaning Vanderwood once did

° but it didn´t help much

° you decided it was the best to go back to your house for now

° so when Seven came back home he expected you to be on the Couch or wherever in the house

° and you were somewhere, but not somewhere in the house

° so he checked the security cameras, maybe you went Shopping?

° you did leave, but together with all of your belongings

° he panicked

° why did you leave?

° was it because he was busy with ihs brother? Because you had to clean all the time?

° but the most important question: were you planning to come back?

° who knows?

° he wanted you to come back

° being in panik-mode he did the first thing that came to his mind

° hacking into your landlord´s computer andthrowing you out of your flat

° nice ting to do Seven….

° and then, he waited

° the phone rang

° “Hi MC, whats up?”

° “Hey Saeyoung, my landlord threw me out. I don´t know why and I don´t know what to do.”

° you were crying

° “Keep calm. First you catch your stuff and come back here. I´ll make something to eat and then we can discuss what to do next.”

° “Thanks Seven you´re the best. See you in 10.”

° did he overdo it? probably…

° you arrived at his house and when you stepped inside you could already smellsomething burnt

° “Seven, is your house in fire??”

° “Nah, it´s just the pancake.”

° he looked like he was in a dough-explosion ɾ⚈▿⚈ɹ

° you laughed, he looked a bit hurt

° “You always know how to cheer me up. I love you Saeyoung!” (。♥‿♥。)

° you kissed him and he decided to spin you around after picking you up

° so cuuuuteeeeee

° it was the best time of your life……until he told you about what he did XD

_V_

° it clearly didn´t lack any intention from his side…

° the first time he “wanted to see which eye colour you have”

° but instead of letting him get Close to your face you told him

° MC, please read the mood, would you?

° the second time he accedantly bumped his forhead against yours

° but you told him it was okay and went into the kitchen

° the third time he became desperate he grabbed you by your shoulders and stared at you (he wanted your ok at least)

° but you started to feel embarássed and excused youself to the bathroom

° it wasn´t like you don´t want him to kiss you

° it was more like you being to shy and afraid you were not good enough

°  you saw that he was sad whenever you rejected him like that

° so you made up your mind and decided to not back away next time

° unfortunately that time didn´t come (︶︹︺)

° he was sad, yes, but he respected you and your privacy, so he stopped tryind to push you

° that meant that you had to take the step, next time there was a chance

° that time came around on your next date

° you went to the aquarium and then fetched some dinner in an italian restaurant

° why? because why not!?

°  when he had a piece of pizza left on the corner of his mouth, you saw your chance

° “You have something on your face, mind if I wipe it away?”

° “Yes, that would be very nice of you.”

° imagine the shocked look on his face when you wiped it awya with your tounge XD

° but before he could say anything you shut him up with your lips on his <3

° what a lovely date (♥ω♥*)

_Saeran_

° he wasn´t that good with emotions

° still you showerd him with affection

° it took him almost a month to get used to hugging, so kissing was a far away dream to you

° it made you sad but hey, you still had the rest of your life right?

° Saeran often wondered how he deserved you…

° he was afraid of loosing you

° especially after his idiot brother told him that you would if he didn´t kiss you

° shock of his life ( ⚆ _ ⚆ )

° “MC, do you want to leave me?”

° “No, why should I?”

° you were confused, did Seven tell him some bullshit again?

° he did that nonstop so it wouldn´t suprise you

° “Saeyoung said you would if I don´t kiss you.”

° you spitted out your drink  (`〇Д〇)

° “He said what!!?”

° yes, you could take this chance and force him to kiss you

° but where was the point in that ?

° “Don´t listen to him. I won´t leave because of that and we can kiss if you fel you can manage it, okay?”

° you were just to nice to him

° he knew you only meant it good but he also saw the sadness in your eyes

° so he went to his last backup-plan

° “Saeyoung, I need your help. I want to kiss MC but I don´t know how to do it.”

° “If you want I can practise with you.”

° “Ok, bye.”(҂⌣̀_⌣́)

° “NOOOO!! Wait!”

° then things happend that I don´t want to explain

° “Hey Saeran do you know wher I left my-”

° you walked in as Seven kissed his brother, Saeran tried to punch him but failed

° “Ooookay… I´m comming back later then.”¯\_(ツ)_/¯

° “No, MC WAIT!!”

° he punched his brother so satisfying and ran after you

° of course you weren´t mad at him if you were then at Seven

° “MC, please don´t be angry at me, it was his fault.”

° he sounded like a kid who´s ice cream got eaten by his brother XD

° I think if someone would do that he would be dead in 3 seconds

° “Saeran, I´m not mad at you that you kissed your brother before me.”

° yes, you were playing with him feeling guilty

° he was afraid

° “No, MC don´t leave me, I´ll do anything …”

° by anything he was referring to kissing and that he did

° result: he felt good kissing you so he didn´t stop you know what follows XD

° but still you punched Seven for kissing your boyfriend

Why did this turn out so long? I have no idea….¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sorry for taking so long though, exams kept me busy so I had not too much time on my Hand

Anyway, I hope you liked it and if you did, leave a like, comment or a repost, which would make me very happy (*^▽^*)

Also if you have any requests or questions just send them nad I´ll do my best    ( ゚▽゚)/

My name is Tyler, and I wanted to start a band, so I picked a name, a logo, and wrote and recorded songs in my basement. I really had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that music did something to me. What I DID know was that I needed help bringing the songs to life on stage. Then I met Josh, a kid with no plan B. He lived and breathed plan A: music. And I liked that he beat the crap out of his instrument.

Then we played shows, all kinds of shows. It never really was discussed, we just knew we had no choice but to play with as much conviction for 5 people as we would for 5,000. We wanted our shows to be more about others than about ourselves, creating an unpredictable but always beautiful dance with the people in the crowd. Honesty and authenticity works, and, as it turns out, people wanna be a part of that.

9,765. Turns out it doesn’t take a million likes to get the music industry’s attention.

On November 19th, 2011, we played in front of a sold out hometown for 1700 of our most dedicated fans in Columbus, Ohio. A few years of hard work materialized into one night, our fans were the first local fan base to ever sell the place out to that
capacity. I don’t know exactly how it happened, but after that night people from 'the industry’ started asking the question, ‘What’s going on in Ohio?’

The next 3 months were the craziest months of our lives. Out of nowhere, we had a dozen labels interested in our small local band, taking us completely off guard. We had questions: Would we lose creative control? Would we be turned into something
we are not? Can we keep doing what we are doing, the way we were doing it? Are we selling out? Encouraged by the answers to those questions, we signed a record deal called Fueled By Ramen. A record deal!

Tonight, 5 months later, we are back in Columbus to explain the incredible news to the people who deserve to hear it first. But it’s just the beginning. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for us
and our fans. And to them we say: We never got a big break. You created our big break. Thank you.

So if you are pursuing your dreams, pursuing what it is you are passionate about, I hope this story encourages you. And if you know someone who is, encourage them with this: Don’t give up. Push through the droughts. Channel the inevitable disappointments back into your craft. Break molds. Think. Create. But most importantly: Stay alive. And in the meantime, make it about others. That seems to work. Stay strong, live on, and power to the local dreamer.

—  Tyler Joseph, after being signed by Fueled by Ramen with Josh Dun.
Archie Andrews x Reader: Best Mistake

A/N: Yay an Archie imagine I had so much fun writing it; If you want a part 2 of this let me know and I’ll do it. I hope you guys enjoy this.

Warnings: Miss Grundy??

Words: 902

You and Archie had been dating for a while and your relationship was the best everyone loved your relationship but ever since the summer Archie had been acting weird. At first you thought it had something to do with the fact that he didn’t know what to do his music or football. But that idea quickly flew out the window when you noticed that he only acted weird towards you. So when you guys had a date you decided to ask him.

“Hey Arch, did I do something wrong?” You asked him curiously.

“What no w-why would you think that?” He asked confused.

“I don’t know it’s just ever since this summer you have been acting weird.” You said looking at him.

“What do you mean weird? I haven’t been acting weird.” He said quickly.

“Yes you have. You just acted weird like a second ago. Whenever we’re together you stutter, you are all jittery and nervous. Some questions you just answer to quickly. If I did something please just tell me.” You said pleadingly.

“Look y/n it’s nothing okay you’re just overthinking stuff nothing is wrong. You didn’t do anything believe me and please remember that.” He said taking your hands.

“Okay fine.” You said looking down knowing he was lying about something.

Archie just pulled back his hands from yours and looked down guilty. He knew that he should tell you what he had been doing but he didn’t want to lose you he loved you but he also loved Miss. Grundy. A few days later Archie was still acting weird you were actually starting to think he was acting even weirder than before. You decided not to ask him again cause you knew he was just gonna tell you the same stuff he told you a few days earlier. So you just decided to ask Jughead he was the person closest to Archie even after Archie bailed on Jughead this summer.

“Hey Juggie.” You yelled as you ran to catch up with him in the hallway.”

“Oh hey y/n, what’s up?” He asked looking at you.

“Not much uh look I was wondering if you have any idea what is going on with Archie. I’ve asked him before but he just gave me some stupid cliche answer and I just wanna know what’s going on with him. So please if you know please tell me Juggie.” You said desperately looking at him.

“Look y/n I know what’s wrong but I just don’t think it’s my place to tell you.” He said looking at you with sympathy.

“Jughead I swear just tell me. You know he isn’t gonna tell me what’s wrong so please just tell me.” You said getting kind of angry.

“I’m really sorry y/n but I uh I found Archie and Miss Grundy in the music room together a few days ago and they were…Well they were kissing. Archie told me that this has been going on all summer. She’s also the reason why he bailed on the road trip.” Jughead whispered so that no one else would hear it and with a sad expression on his face.

“He’s been cheating on me with a teacher.” You said quietly while you looked down sadly.

“I’m so sorry y/n. You don’t need to be sorry Juggie he needs to be.”You said as you pointed towards your boyfriend who was waving happily at you until he saw your angry face.

“I need to talk with you. Now.” You said angrily grabbing Archie’s arm and pulling him into a room. The music room to be specific.

“Wow y/n what’s wrong?” Archie asked confused.

“You have been cheating on!! With a teacher!!” You yelled at him as angry tears started to run down your face.

Archie looked sad and guilty at the same time. He walked closer to you to take your hands but as soon as he stepped forward you stepped back.

“How could you!? Why did you do that to me!! I can’t believe I believed you when you told me you loved me!!” You yelled at him.

“I do love you. It’s just…I I don’t know how I can explain this but you have to believe me when I say that I love you. I wanted to tell you I did but I just couldn’t lose you.” He said also crying.

“If you love me so much then why didn’t you break things off with her I the summer or even better after the first time something happened between the two of you!” You yelled angrily.

“Because I also love her and I know you might say that it’s not possible but it is.” Archie said.

You just shook your head and ran your hand through your hair while hot tears streamed down your face.

“You didn’t want to lose me. Well to bad Archie I never wanna see you ever again. I HATE YOU!!” You yelled while you were sobbing.

Archie and you were both sobbing so hard that neither of you heard the door opening.

“Archie, y/n what are the two of you doing here.” Miss Grundy asked but then seeing both of your faces knowing what had happened.

You angrily grabbed your back and walked to the door.

“I hope the both of you are gonna be very happy together.” You said to them angrily and then shoving Miss Grundy and slamming the door shut.

I’m seeing some horrible stuff of my dash about the fandom not doing enough for Louis and doing too much for Harry. Obviously I don’t agree with this in any shape or form, but I want to say one thing that I think is important.

Louis and Harry’s debut singles were wildly different genres. Harry’s style of music will appeal to a much bigger audience of varying ages. Whereas Louis’ track appealed more to a younger age group.
For example, Louis released an EDM collaboration, BBC radio 2’s demographic wouldn’t have a fucking clue what EDM was and even if they did they probably wouldn’t like that style of music as they tend to be people in their 40’s upwards. Harry ’s track fits right in on radio 2 as evidenced by the fact he appeared on Dermot O'Leary’s Saturday morning show.
Louis’ track did brilliantly considering how shitty the promo was from his team. But I do think the general public have had a big influence on Harry’s chart position.
Let’s not blame the fandom. If you want to blame someone, then blame the Janet’s and Anthony’s dotted around the UK who have no idea what EDM is.

Prince: Strange Tales from Andre’s Basement… and other fantasies come true

By: Barbara Graustark

Sure he’s a weird kid. For Prince Rogers Nelson, a man whom Henry Miller and Howard Hughes are undoubtedly behavioral models, the two S’s of sex and secrecy are paramount. His reluctance to talk to the press is well established and his role as a beacon of sexual controversy is past legendary. Jimi Hendrix may have helped open the floodgates when he asked an innocent generation, “Are you experienced?” But Prince didn’t have to ask. His sexual excesses in a dank, dark Minneapolis basement with his confident and companion Andre Cymone and a host of neighborhood girls shaped the values of his earliest songs and mirrored the experiences and insecurity of a liberated generation.

His first albums were full of funky innuendo. For You established him as a poetic prince of love, with a mission to spread a sexy message here on earth—a message reinforced by his “special thanks to God” credit on the LP’s jacket. Prince had heard the call, all right, but it wasn’t the Lord’s sermon that he was preaching, and with his next album, Dirty Mind, he catapulted out of the closet and into the public eye as a raunchy prophet of porn.

That album established Prince in rock critical circles as a truly special case. He created his own musical world in which heavy-metal guitars crashed into synth-funk rhythms, where rockabilly bounced off rapid punk tempos, all of it riding under lyrical themes of incest, lost love, sexual discovery and oral gratification. It was then that I became interested in talking to this elusive boy genius.

His concerts that fall had been a hot, erotic blast of wind through the chilly Northeast, and I was primed to meet a proper, swaggering conqueror — “The leader of a pack in a brave new world without rules or categories or any limitations,” as Boston critic Ariel Swartley had extravagantly described him. What I found facing me that sleepy-eyed morning was shockingly different: a man-child in the promised land. Despite the studded trenchcoat, the leather jock bikini and the blatant bare chest, he was a shy and unsure creature, small as a leprechaun and just as elusive.

The interview became a lengthy excursion into Prince’s pained past and through songs that had a purpose beyond the titillating of fantasies, as I was soon to learn. Prince’s preoccupation, disclosed between the lines of the interview, was loneliness, which in the world had become painfully interwoven with sexuality. His own childhood was something else. Multiracial, one of nine children of a hard-working Italian mother and a half-black father—a struggling musician who was mostly absent during his youth—Prince was a veteran of foster homes and a chronic runaway.

At the time of our interview, he was proud and hurt, contemplating ending interviews altogether. He communicated with the gravity of a crestfallen child, speaking in short grudging bursts of words that nevertheless revealed a great deal more than he wanted anyone to know. At the end of our long visit, he gave an eloquent summation: “That was the longest I’ve ever talked,” he said with a child’s awe. He gave me an uncertain grin and, as he trudged off into the New York rain, wobbling a bit on his high-heeled cobra boots, I liked him immediately and had the feeling that Prince would survive his current bout with success.

MUSICIAN: Let me start off with the question, to me at least. Dirty Mind seems to be the antithesis of what sex should be. Or is it? Why was that album called Dirty Mind?

PRINCE: Well, that was kind of a put-on… I wanted to put it out there that way and in time show people that’s not what sex was about. You can say a bad word over and over again and sooner or later it won’ t be bad anymore if everybody starts doing it.

MUSICIAN: Are songs like “Head” and “Sister” serious or satiric?

PRINCE: “Sister“ is serious. “Head” could be taken as satire. No one’s laughing when I’m saying it so I don’t know. If people get enjoyment out of it and laugh, that’s fine. All the stuff on the record is true experiences and things that have occurred around me and the way I feel about things. I wasn’t laughing when I did it So I don’t suppose it was intended that way.

That’s why I stopped doing interviews. I started and I slopped abruptly because of that. People weren’t taking me serious ly and I was being misunderstood. Everything I said they didn’t believe anyway. They didn’t believe my name. They didn’t believe anything.

MUSICIAN: Your father’s stage name was Prince Rogers. Was that his real name?

PRINCE: That wasn’t his real name. He made it up.

MUSICIAN: And what’s your last name? Is it Nelson?

PRINCE: I don’t know.

MUSICIAN: Your point about being misunderstood is kind of important. We should try and be as straight as possible with each other so I know that what you ’re say ing is being interpreted correctly.

PRINCE: Okay. I tell the truth about everything but my last name. I just hate it. I know how it’s just the name that he had to go through life with, and he hated it too. So that’s why he gave me this name and that’s why he changed his when he went onstage. I just don’t like it and I just really would rather not have it out. It’s just a stupid name that means nothing to my ancestry, my father and what he was about.

MUSICIAN: Was your father very much there when you were growing up?

PRINCE: Well, up until the time I was seven he was very much the re. Then he was very much away. Then I went to live with him once… I ran away the first time when I was twelve. And then he worked two jobs. He worked a day job and then he worked downtown playing behind strippers. So he was away and I didn’t see him much then, only while he was shaving or something like that. We didn’t talk so much then.

MUSICIAN: Did he have any feelings about you being a musician? Was he a supportive person?

PRINCE: I don’t think so because he didn’t think I was very good. I didn’t really think so either. When I finally got a band together he used to come and watch us play every once in a while. But he finds it really hard to show emotion. I find that true of most men and it’s kind of a drag, but… .

MUSICIAN: Is your father a good musician? What does he play?

PRINCE: Piano. The reason he’s good is that he’s totally… he can’t stand any music other than his. He doesn’t listen to anybody. And he’s really strange. He told me one time that he has dreams where he’d see a keyboard in front of his eyes and he’d see his hands on the keyboard and he’d hear a melody. And he can get up and it can be like 4: 30 a.m. and he can walk right downstairs to his piano and play the melody. And to me that’s amazing because there’s no work involved really; he’s just given a gift in each song. He never comes out of the house unless it’s to get something to eat and he goes right back in and he plays all the time. His music…one day I hope you’ ll get to hear it. It’s just—it sounds like nothing I’ve ever heard.

MUSICIAN: How did you get into music? Where were you? What were you doing?

PRINCE: I was at home living with my mother and my sister, and he had just gone and left his piano. He didn’t allow anybody to play it when he was there because we would just bang on it. So once he left then I started doing it because nobody else would. Every thing was cool I think, until my father left, and then it got kinda hairy. My step-dad came along when I was nine or ten, and I disliked him immediately, because he dealt with a lot of materialistic things. He would bring us a lot of presents all the time, rather than sit down and talk with us and give us companionship. I got real bitter because of that, and I would say all the things that I disliked about him, rather than tell him what I really needed. Which was a mistake, and it kind of hurt our relationship.

I don’ t think they wanted me to be a musician. But I think it was mainly because of my father, who disliked the idea that he was a musician, and it really broke up their life. I think that’s · why he probably named me what he named me, it was like a blow to her—"He’s gonna grow up the same way, so don’t even worry about him.” And that’s exactly what I did. I was about thirteen when I moved away. I didn’t really realize other music until I had to. And that was when I got my own band and we had to play top forty songs. Anything that was a hit, didn’t matter who it was. We played every thing because they were mainly things that I wanted to go on, not things that were going on. Which is different from what I write about now.

MUSICIAN: Do you feel a strong identification with anything … anybody?

PRINCE: No. I think society says if you’ve got a little black in you that’s what you are. I don’t.

MUSICIAN: When you moved away, did you move in with your father?

PRINCE: Well, that was when I went to live with my aunt, also in Minneapolis, because I couldn’t stay at my father’s. And my father wouldn’t get me a piano, it was too much or whatever, so … he got me a guitar. I didn’t learn to play the right way, because I tuned it to a straight A chord so it was really strange. When I first started playing guitar, I jus t did chords and things like that, and I didn’t really get into soloing and all that until later, when I star ted making records. I can’t think of any foremost great guitarist that stuck in my mind. It was jus t solos on records, and it was just dumb stuff; I hated top forty. Everybody in the band hated it. It was what was holding us back. And we were trying to escape it. But we had to do it to make enough money to make demo tapes.

MUSICIAN: How’d you get to Andre Cymone’s cellar?

PRINCE: Andre Cymone’s house was the last stop after going from my dad’s to my aunt’s, to different homes and going through just a bunch of junk . And once I got there, I had realized that I was going tp have to play according to the program , and do exactly what was expected of me. And I was sixteen at the time, getting ready to turn seventeen.

MUSICIAN: Were you still in high school?

PRINCE: Mm-hm. And, that was another problem. I wasn’t doing well in school, and I was going to have to. Otherwise the people around me were going to get very upset. I could come in anytime I wanted, I could have girls spend the night, and it didn’t make a difference. I think it had a great deal to do with me coming out into my own, and discovering myself. I mean, the music was interesting at that time, once I got out of high school. And I got out of high school early, when I was like sixteen.

MUSICIAN: Did you finish?

PRINCE: Yeah. Because I go t all the required credits. And that’s relatively early. In about two and a half years, or something like that. It was pretty easy and stupid. To this day , I don’t use anything that t hey taught me. Get your jar, and dissect frogs and stuff like that.

MUSICIAN: How’d you support yourself?

PRINCE: Well, that was the problem. Once I got out of high school it was interesting for a while because I didn’t have any money, I didn’t have any school, and I didn’t have any dependents, I didn’t have any kids , or girlfriends, or any thing. I had cut myself off totally from everything. And that’s when I really started writing. I was writing like three or four songs a day. And, they were all really long. Which is interesting for me as a writer, because it’s hard to jus t take a thought, and continue it for a long period of ti me without losing it. And it’s harder for me now to write than it was back then, because the re’s so many people around me now. I wrote a lot of sexual songs back then, but they were mainly things that I wanted to go on, not things that were going on. Which is different from what I write about now.

MUSICIAN: You mean, what you were writing about then was just a fantasy of women?

PRINCE: All fantasies, yeah. Because I didn’t have anything around me… there were no people. No anything. When I started writing, I cut myself off from relationships with women.

MUSICIAN: Did you ever have a relationship?

PRINCE: Several solid relationships (laughs). When you’re broken, and poor and hungry, you usually try to find friends who are gonna help you out.

MUSICIAN: Who are rich and things?

PRINCE: Yeah. And successful. And have a lot of food in their fridge. I don’t know.

MUSICIAN: Did you ever do anything that you’re embarrassed about?

PRINCE: Mmm…  no… well… .

MUSICIAN: Were you doing drugs?

PRINCE: No. One thing that turned me off to that was seeing my brother get high. At first we all thought it was funny, but then I started asking him questions and he couldn’t answer ’em, you know. So I felt it was kinda stupid. And I didn’t want my mind all cloudy at any time, because I always felt… I don’t know, maybe it was a basic paranoia or something about me, but I didn’t want anybody sneaking up behind me, and doing me in, or taking my money, or tricking me in any way. So I never wanted to get high.

MUSICIAN: How does Andre Cymone fit into all of this? Was he there at the beginning, and then you went to New York and came back. and resumed the friendship?

PRINCE: Well. what happened was. before I went to New York we lost our friendship, because he was in the band with me at the time, and I asked them all what they wanted to do, “Do you want to stay here. or do you want to go to New York?” And Andre didn’t speak up, but everyone else was against it. No one wanted to do it. They liked their lifestyle, I guess. I don’t think they really liked the idea of me trying to manipulate the band so much. I was always trying to get us to do something different. and I was always teamed up on for that. Like, in an argument or something like that, or a fight, or whatever… it was always me against them. That ’s when I wrote “Soft And Wet.” which was the first single I put out. I really liked. the tune. but everyone thought it was filthy, and “you didn’t have no business doing stuff without us. anyway.” I just did what I wanted to. And that was it.

MUSICIAN: When did you realize that?

PRINCE: When I was in Andre ’s basement. I found out a lot about myself then. The only reason I stayed was because of Andre ’s mother. She would let me do anything I wanted to, but she said all I care about is you finishing school. Anything.

MUSICIAN: How much can you do in a basement?

PRINCE: Well, it depends on how many people are there’ (laughs) You know, one time she came down and saw a lot of us down there, and we weren’t all dressed, and stuff like that. It kind of tripped her out. and we got into a semi-argument. and whatever, but it, was… you know… .

MUSICIAN: Was the scene back then in the basement a heterosexual scene? Was it homosexual?

PRINCE: No, everything was heterosexual. I didn’t know any homosexuals, no. There was one guy who walked around in women’s clothes, but we didn’t know why he did it, we just thought it was funny, and that was that. Some things don’t dawn on you for a long time. And now I hear, like … Minneapolis is supposed to be like … the third largest gay city in the country, or whatever. Huge.

MUSICIAN: Were you ready for New York when you came?

PRINCE: Yeah. I was ready for anything . I felt disgusted with my life in Minneapolis.

MUSICIAN:  What’d you do when you got here? Did you know you were gonna live with your sister?

PRINCE: Mm-hm. When I called her and told her what had happened, she said, well come here and I’ll help you. And I came. She had a great personality. You know , all my friends were girls , okay? I didn’t have any male friends, because they were just cheap, all of ’em were just cheap, so I knew then that if she used her personality and her sensitivity she could get us a deal. That didn’t mean going to bed with anybody, it just meant that… you know, use your charm rather than trying to go in there and be this man, because you’re not.

And then my sister was introduced to this one guy who had a band. And, I don’t know how she got this, but it was really cool. She ended up talking to this guy and found out everything he did, and found out that he had a demo and he was gonna take it to this woman named Danielle. And he was gonna try to get his band signed to her. So we all went together, and she said, “Can my little brother come in?” And she said sure. So we were all sitting there, and Danielle said, “Alright, put your tape on.” So he put on the tape of his band. That tape was pretty terrible, and Danielle said so, and the guy started making excuses, saying, “Well, that’s not the real guitar player, or the real singers, so don’t worry about it.” And she said, “Well, why did you bring a tape that doesn’t have the real musicians? “

Then my sister started telling Danielle about me and finally she asked me to sing. And I said no (laughs). And she said. “Why not?” And I said, “Because I’m scared. “ And she said. “You don’t have to be scared.” And they turned the lights down, and it was really strange.

That same day I had just written “Baby,” and I didn’t really have it all together, but I sang the melody and she really liked my voice. She said, “I don’t care what you do, just hum, because I just want to hear you sing.” So that’s what I did, just started singing and humming, and making up words and really stupid stuff.

MUSICIAN: Were you singing in your upper register then?

PRINCE: I only sang like that back then because, I don ’t know… it hurt… it hurt my voice to sing in the lower register. I couldn’t make it, I couldn’t peak songs the way I wanted to, and things like that, so I never used it.

MUSICIAN: Oh! I would think it would hurt losing in a falsetto.

PRINCE: Well, not for me. I wish it was that way, but… .

MUSICIAN: Did Danielle sign you to a contract?

PRINCE: Well, she wanted to start working with me immediately. Nevertheless, this guy was pretty upset that he didn’t get his band in there. He and my sister fell out right away, but she didn’t care. And that’s what I dug about her. So I talked with Danielle, and she told me to come over to her apartment. She was very beautiful, too, which made everything a lot easier, I remember that about her. And she made me bring all my songs, and we went through ’em all, and she didn’t like any of ’em.

MUSICIAN: None of them? Not even “Soft And Wet"?

PRINCE: None. Except for “ Baby.” She wanted me to do “Baby “ with a lot of orchestration, tympani, strings. and… .

MUSICIAN: How’d that sound to you?

PRINCE: I didn’t care. You know. I was cool with it. All I I ~ wanted to do was play a couple of instruments on it. and let it ~ say on the album that I played something. And she said no, unless I could play better than the session guy, which I didn’t think I could do if a guy was gonna sit there and read the chart, and I was going to get aced out right away. So that materialize. Anyway… after I finished that, that’s when me and my sister kinda had a dispute.

MUSICIAN: About what?

PRINCE: Mainly money. I had nothing; I was running up sort of a bill there, at her place, and she wanted -me to sell my publishing tor like $380 or something like that—which I thought was kinda foolish. And I kept telling her that I could get my own publishing company. I didn’t care about money. I just didn’t care about money. And, I don’t know, I never have, because… the one time I did have it was when my step-dad lived there, and I know I was extremely bitter then.

MUSICIAN: And did you have to go back to Minneapolis?

PRINCE: I didn’t have to, which was nice. Danielle knew this was gonna happen sooner or later. It’s was all really interesting to me back then, and I kind of would have liked to have seen what would have happened if she had managed me.

MUSICIAN: What did happen? Why didn’t she?

PRINCE: Well, when I got back to Minneapolis, that’s when I first met Owen Husney. I had been talking to him over the phone, and all he kept saying was that he thought I was really great, and that … .

MUSICIAN: Was Owen big time then? Was he a big -time kind of promoter, or manager?

PRINCE: Mmm. He had promo ted some gigs, but he was working mainly in his ad company. And he wanted to manage an act. The main thing he said was that no one should produce a record of mine—I should do it. And, I still had a deal with Danielle if I wanted it, but something about him saying that to me made me think that was the way to go So I told her that I was going to college.

MUSICIAN: Was Danielle somebody that you had a relationship with?

PRINCE: Mm-mm. It was only… it was only mind games. I mean, we’d look at one another and… play games, but it wasn’t…  we never said anything.

MUSICIAN: Um… when you came back and started working with Owen, what did he do? Did he get the contract for you with Warner Bros.?

PRINCE: Owen believed in me, he really did. First of all, nobody believed I could play all the instruments.

MUSICIAN: How many instruments did you play?

PRINCE: Well, on the demo tapes I didn’t play too many—I played drums, keyboards, bass and guitars, percussion and vocals; but when I did my album, I did tons of things. Some body counted and said I had played twenty-seven on the first album. Different ones, but I don’t know, I never count things (laughs). Because the quantity is… people put so much emphasis on that. It’s about the quality, and what it sounds like.

MUSICIAN: It must have been a battle with the record company to produce and arrange.

PRINCE: Well, I got a couple offers and the only difference between Warner Bros. and the others was that they didn’t want to let me do production, they didn’t want to let me plan anything on the records. Warners had a lot of problems with it at first but Owen was fighting for control for me. They made me do a demo tape. So I did it, and they said that’ s pretty good. Do another one, and so I did another one. Then they said, “Okay, we can produce your album.” And they waited a week to call me back and they said I couldn’t. I had to go through that process a few more times. Then finally they said okay. It was kind of frustrating at first but I got used to it.

To some degree in the earlier days I was listening to Owen and the company. I didn’t want to create any waves because I was brand new, and stuff like that. But now I feel that I’m going to have to do exactly what’s on my mind and be exactly the way I am. Otherwise sooner or later down the road I’m going to be in a corner sucking my thumb or something. I don’t want to lose it. I just want to do what I’m really about.

MUSICIAN: Did you know what you wanted to do when you started out? When you got that contract with Warner Bros., and they said to go into the studio and do it?

PRINCE: I had an idea, but it was really vague, and I think that had to do with… at least, with having such a big budget. It was really big-over $100,000. You’re supposed to go in and do an album for $60,000. But I went in and kept going, and kept going and kept going. I got in a lot of trouble for it.

MUSICIAN: How much time did you spend in the studio?

PRINCE: Hours. Hours. I was a physical wreck when I finished the record… it took me five months to do the first one. I’m proud of it, in the sense that it’s mistake-free, and it’s perfect. And it’s… that’s the problem with it, you know. But it wasn’t really me, it was like a machine. You know, I walked in, and I was sleepy all the time. I didn’t really feel like recording for eighty percent of the record. But I did it anyway, because, by the time I had gotten close to $100,000, it was like, you know, you were going to have to do something great. So, by that time, I didn’t want to make any mistakes. The relationship between me and the executive producer that they assigned with me was horrifying.

MUSICIAN: Did Warner Bros. ever look as if they were just going to wash their hands of the whole thing, or were they committed?

PRINCE: No, I don’t think so, because I owed them too much money.

MUSICIAN: They had to stick with you, so you could pay off.

PRINCE: Yeah. At least three albums. And I didn’t want to do anything like interviews or touring. I was being real stubborn and bull-headed, and Owen didn’t realize how to get it out of me, and make me stop. And, I don’t know, our friendship died slowly after that. It just got strange.

MUSICIAN: How did you get the whole act together? When did you get a band and decide to go on the road?

PRINCE: Well, the band came right before I did the second album (For You).

MUSICIAN: What happened when you went back to Minneapolis…  first, after New York, and then, after you had actually recorded? Were you treated very differently? I mean, this was big time with Warner Bros., for sure.

PRINCE: Yeah. The same people who told me I wasn’t gonna be anything, treated me with a lot more respect now. And it made me a much better person. II took a lot of bitterness out of me. Because that’s all I really wanted; I didn’t want the respect so much as I wanted friends hip, real friendship. That’s all that counts to me. And I tell my band members the same thing now. I mean, you have to learn to deal with me on an up-front level, or else, you know, it’s dead. I don’t want people around me who don ’t do that.

MUSICIAN: Has your music changed much since then?

PRINCE: I think I change constantly, because I can hear the music changing. The other day I put my first three albums on and listened to the difference. And I know why I don’t sound like that anymore. Because things that made sense to me and thi ngs that I liked the n I don’t like anymore. The way I played music, just the way I was in love a lot back then when I used to make those records. And love meant more to me then-but now I realize that people don ’t always tell you the truth, you know? I was really gullible back then. I believed in everybody around me. I believed in Owen, I believed in Warner Bros., I believed in everybody. If someone said something good to me, I believed it.

MUSICIAN: And it was reflected in your music?

PRINCE: Yeah, I think so. It was….

MUSICIAN: More romantic?

PRINCE: Yeah. And I felt good when I was singing back then. The things I do now, I feel anger sometimes when I sing, and I can hear the difference. I’m screaming more now than I used to. And things like that. I think it’s just me. It also has to do with the instrumentation. It has nothing to do with trying to change styles or anything. Plus, I’m in a different environment; I see New York a little bit more. In my subconscious I’m influenced by the sinisterness of it, you know, the power. I hear sirens all the time, things like that. It’s not like that in Minneapolis. If you ever go there you’ll see it’s real laid back: real quiet, and you have to make you r own action. I think a lot of warped people come out of there. My friends. I know a lot of warped girls, okay? Warped to me means they see things differently than I would, I suppose. They talk a lot. They talk a lot. about nothing. But I mean heavy. They get into it like you wouldn’t believe. I mean, we could get into an hour-long conversation about my pants. You know, why they’re so tight, or something, do you know what I mean?

MUSICIAN: Well, why are they tight?

PRINCE: I don’t know (laughs). I don’t know. Because I want them to be. I just like the way they look.

MUSICIAN: Did Warner Bros. flinch when you put “Head” on the third record?

PRINCE: They flinched at just about everything (laughs ).

MUSICIAN: I wanted to ask you about the cover of Dirty Mind. How was that done?

PRINCE: We were just fooling around, and we were jamming at the time. It was summertime, and we were having fun. And that’s what I had on. But my coat was closed, so the photographer didn’t know. I was with some friends and…

MUSICIAN: Does everyone in Minneapolis just walk around with bikini underpants?

PRINCE: (laughs ) No. But, see… l don’t know. I mean…  once…  I mean, if you’ve got a big coat on. I mean, who knows what he has on? I mean, it was hot out. Everybody was saying, why you got that hot coat on? I’d say, I’m really not that hot. (laughs) And they ’d say, you gotta be.

MUSICIAN: l bet you flash.

PRINCE: No. Not in… it depends on who it is. But, we were just jamming and stuff like that, and he didn’t know that’s what I had on. And so, he was taking pictures and I happened to open my coat for one, just as a joke, you know? He said, wow. Like that. And, wel( see: I used to wear that onstage.

MUSICIAN: How ’d you pick that image of yourself? Where. did it come from?

PRINCE: Well, I used to wear leotards and Danskins and stuff, because our stage show is really athletic and I wanted something comfortable. And my management said, “You have to at least start wearing underwear, because… . “

MUSICIAN: You weren’t wearing any underwear?

PRINCE: No. Kind of gross. So I said, okay, and started wearing underwear.

MUSICIAN: What kind of friends were you hanging with?

PRINCE: Prostitutes. Pimps. Drug dealers. Really bad people and preachers ’ daughters, you know? Which is strange, because they were the total opposite of their fathers.

MUSICIAN: How did you meet them? Al gigs?

PRINCE: Yeah. I talk to people. and if they’re real and sincere about what they ’re doing, and they don’t really want anything out of me except to be my friends, then, you know, I go for that.

MUSICIAN: The people who you were friendly with back then… that group… did they influence your style?

PRINCE: Well, I think to some degree. They’re really rebellious. They cut themselves off from the world, as I did. The band’s attitude is, they don’t listen to a lot of music and stuff like that. And the band is funny, the only time they ’ll go to see someone else is if they ’re going to ta lk about them or heckle. It’s really sick. They ’re like critics.

MUSICIAN: Are they all close friends?

PRINCE: I don’t know anymore. It’s hard to say. When we first started I think we were. That ’s how they got in the group. Some of them I didn’t find out if they could play until later.

MUSICIAN: Are they concerned, now, about not being on the road? Do they feel that they ’d like to be touring?

PRINCE: Yeah. We all do. Once I stop, then I start writing again, or whatever, or start playing… fooling around, then I don’t want to play out in public so much. I guess I write letters better than I talk, basically. I can write really good letters. And that’s where the records come from. I can sit down and say exactly what I want. I don’t have to worry about someone else next to me doing their job.

MUSICIAN: It ’s funny, because you’re a very imaginative guy. I would think for someone who draws on fantasies and wrote about dreams, fantasy would be important.

PRINCE: Well, it is. But it’s not so much when you’re writing a letter. Do you know what I mean? If I were to write a letter to a friend, and tell them about an experience, I wouldn’t say how it made me feel; I would say exactly what I did, so that they could experience it, too, rather than the intellectual point of view. If you give them a situation, maybe that you’ve encountered, or whatever, give them the basis of it, let them take it to the next stage, they make the picture in their own mind. I know I am happiest making records like this, making records that tell the truth and don’t beat around the bush. Maybe I’m wrong for it, but I know the people at the concerts know exactly what the songs are about, sing right along, and are really into it. We have their attention. They understand, I think, and they ’re getting the message. I don’t know. It seems real o me because… well, it is, because I’m saying exactly what’s going around me. I say everything exactly the way it is.

MUSICIAN: Do you think people think that you’re gay?

PRINCE: Well, there’s something about me, I know, that makes people think that. It must stem from the fact that I spent a lot of time around women. Maybe they see things I don’t.

MUSICIAN: People always speak about a feminine sensibility as if it ’s something negative in a man. But it’s usually very attractive for most women. Like a sensitiveness.

PRINCE: I don’t know. It’s attractive for me. I mean, I would like to be a more loving person, and be able to deal with other people ’s problems a little bit better. Men are really closed and cold together, I think. They don’t like to cry, in other words. And I think that’s wrong, because that ’s not true.

MUSICIAN:  Is there anything that you want me to mention that we haven ’t talked about?

PRINCE: Well, I don’t know, it’s… Idon’t want people to get the impression that sex is all I write about. Because it’s not, and the reason why it’s so abundant in my writing is mainly because of my age and the things that are around me. Until you can go to college or get a nine-to-five job, then there’s going to be a bunch of free time around you. And free time can only be spent in certain ways. But if people don’t dig my music, then stay away from it, that’s all. It’s not for everybody, I don’t believe. I do know that there are a lot of people wanting to be themselves out there.

MUSICIAN: Will you always try to be controversial?

PRINCE: That’s really a strange quest ion, because if I’m that way, then I will be forever writing that way. I don’t particularly think it’s so controversial. I mean, when a girl can get birth control pills at age twelve, then I know she knows just abou t as much as I do, or at least will be there in a short time. I think people are pretty blind to it. Pretty blind to life, and taking for granted what really goes on.

MUSICIAN: Do you think that older people don’t give the twelve- and thirteen-year-olds enough credit for knowing as much as they know?

PRINCE: I’m sure they don’t. I’m absolutely sure they don’t I mean, when my mom had stuff in her room that I could sneak in and get. Books, vibrators, all kinds of things. I did it. I’m sure everybody else does. And if I can go in there and do all that, I don’t see how she figures I won ’t know. And the way she figures I don’t know is, she doesn’t sit down and te ll me exactly what’s going on. I never got a rap like that, and I don’t know how many kids do.

MUSICIAN: I think that a lot of kids would like to feel that there ’s somebody who’s capturing that experience for them. And I don ’t think anybody really has done it before.

PRINCE: Yeah. At the same time, you’re telling them about wanting to be loved or whatever… accepted. In time you can tell them about contraception and things like that, which need to be said. No one else is going to say it. I know I have def interview points on a lot of different things: the school system, the way the government’s run, and things like that. And I’ll say them, in time. And I think they ’ll be accepted for what they are.

MUSICIAN: So is that really you up there onstage?

PRINCE: What? The way I act? Oh, yeah, without a doubt.

MUSICIAN: In other words, when you go back to Minneapolis, and you go to parties, is that you?

PRINCE: Oh, yeah. And when I’m with my friends, I’m more like that than anything. A lot of times, when I got out to clubs, if I go, I just go to observe, and I watch people. I like to watch people. They way they act and things like that.

MUSICIAN: So what will be the first thing you do when you get back to Minneapolis?

PRINCE: Probably take a long bath. I haven ’t had one in a long time. I’m scared of hotel bathtubs.

MUSICIAN: What do you fear?

PRINCE: They just… a maid could walk in and see me.

Mixed Emotions: Prince on the Music

By: Robert Hilburn

MUSICIAN: I liked your first two albums, but it seemed to me that the third record, Dirty Mind, was really a growth….

PRINCE: Yes. The second record (For You) was pretty contrived, After the first record, I put myself in a hole, because I’d spent a lot of money to make it. With the second record, I wanted to remedy all that, so I just made it a “hit” album. I usually write hits for other people, and those are the songs I throw away and don’t really care for. Dirty Mind started off as demo tapes: they were just like songs inside that I wanted to hear. So I took it to my manager and he said, “This is the best stuff I’ve heard in a long time. This should be your album.” The drag is that J don’t know how I could make another album like that. I usually change directions with each record. which is a problem in some respects, but rewarding and fulfilling for me. I have mixed emotions.

MUSICIAN: The fourth record, Controversy, sounds more new wave.

PRINCE: It depends a lot on what instrument I write on. When I write on guitar, I come up with songs like “When You Are Mine” and “Ronnie Talks To Russia.·· When I start with drums. I get “Controversy.” Controversy is a little erratic. I’m really proud of this new album (1999).

MUSICIAN: How did “Little Red Corvette” come about?

PRINCE: That song was a real life incident. A girl in a little red Corvette….

MUSICIAN: Did you resist the idea of 1999 being a double album?

PRINCE: Yes. I didn’t want to do a double record, but I just kept on writing. Of course, I’m not one for editing. I did try to shorten things.

MUSICIAN: How do you prepare to go into the studio? Do you have rough ideas… ?

PRINCE: I don’t plan or anything like that. When I record, I find if I usually just sit down and do something, I’ll gradually come up with something. Sometimes it starts with a lyric.

MUSICIAN: Is It easier to work alone rather than with others?

PRINCE: Oh, much easier. I have a communication problem sometimes when I’m trying to describe music.

MUSICIAN: Were you always a musical loner?

PRINCE: When I first started, I always had buddies around me. I never wanted to be a front man. It felt spooky to be at the mike alone. I had a bad habit of just thinking of myself—if I just moved constantly, then people would think I was comfortable. But that wasn’t right.

MUSICIAN: When did you finally become comfortable performing?

PRINCE:
Last year, on the Controversy tour. There was something about coming down the pole and going out in front. I felt real comfortable.

MUSICIAN: What was the incident at the Stones’ Coliseum show when you left the stage early?

PRINCE: When we went onstage, there were a lot of people throwing things and making noises and stuff. At first I thought it was fun, okay, and then I thought, “Wen. we just better play.” Dez, my guitar player, is just a rock ’n’ roller at heart and he said, “Show ’em we can play, and then it’ll simmer down.” But there was this one dude right in the front and I looked down at him—you could see the hatred all over his face. He wouldn’t stop throwing things. And the reason that I left was I didn’t want to play anymore. I just wanted to fight him. I got really angry. It’s like I’m feeling, “Look, I got twenty minutes. If you can’t deal with that, well, we’ll have to go outside and work it out.” You know? How dare you throw something at me?

MUSICIAN:
Many songwriters use the word “love” to mean other things such as ambition or goal or talent. Is the word “sex” almost interchangeable sometimes?

PRINCE:
Yes, I think everything basica lly is. Like in “Lady Cab Driver,” for example, “sex” is used in two different contexts. One is anger.

MUSICIAN: Does that imply an S &M kind of thing? A Jot of people might perceive that from the record.

PRINCE: Well, that’s up to them. I don’t want to burst anybody’s bubble, but the idea was that a lot of people make love out of loneliness sometimes.

MUSICIAN:
And they want to be touched in reassurance?

PRINCE: Yes, exactly. It just went from anger and you start saying, “Well, how long can this go on? This is a person here. I have to be human.” The right spot was hit so….

MUSICIAN:
Do you enjoy being in the studio?

PRINCE: Yes. There’s nothing like the feeling after you’ve done something and play it back and you know that you’ll never hear anything like it and that they’ll never figure it out-I’m sorry, I know what that sounds like. When I say “figure it out,” I mean something like I’ll try to go so high and so jagged with my voice that if everybody tries to do it their tonsils will tall out. I don’t try to trick people. Life is too confusing itself, and I wouldn’t put any more on anybody else. Now everybody’s worried about the fact that I can’t use engineers.

MUSICIAN: You can’t use engineers?

PRINCE: No, they drive me crazy. It’s because they’re so technical. Everything just got so esoteric, “We’ve got to do this a certain way,” when you’re ready to play.,he engineer I use and give credit to on the album, she sets everything up for me, most of the time before I come in. And then I Just do what I have to do and split. She puts things together afterward.

MUSICIAN:
I once heard you described as a child prodigy.

PRINCE: Don’t. That’s all fabricated evidence that the management did to make it happen. I don’t want to say that I was anything less than what they thought, but I just did it as sort of a hobby, and then it turned into a job and just a way to eat, and now I do it as art.
