i got sense

So something popped up in my head and now I can't get it out. Studs will often bite a mare's neck when doing a live cover so there are these things called bite guards to prevent that from happening. I would think if the omega and/or alpha didn't want to mate, one of these would probably be employed so a mating mark couldn't be made, especially if the Alpha lacks control. I could especially see these being used in brothels or safe rooms employing actual Alphas vs. toys. Thoughts?

Oh man I never thought about something like that but yeah, you’re right those would totally be a thing.

And TBH they would probably be considered a part of safe sex practices. Like, in the cultures that teach it, it’s considered just something you do if you don’t want to mate with the person you’re sleeping with. Sure you have some that claim they have the self-control to stop themselves, but generally it’s considered safer to wear one just in case (because you can never know what will happen in the heat of the moment).

And yeah brothels they’d be just standard, like condoms are.

… actually they’d basically be condoms culturally. Except like condoms also exist. But they’d be treated much the same.

AU Mellivia | And I remember when I met her, it was so clear that she was the only one for me. We both knew it, right away. And as the years went on, things got more difficult, we were faced with more challenges. I begged her to stay! Try to remember what we had at the beginning. She was charismatic, magnetic, electric and everybody knew it. When she walked in, every man’s head turned, everyone stood up to talk to her. She was like this hybrid, this mix of a woman who couldn’t contain herself. I always got the sense that she became torn between being a good person and missing out on all of the opportunities that life could offer a woman as magnificent as her. And in that way I understood her.
And I loved her.
I loved her, I loved her, I loved her.
And I still love her!
I love her!

Legends of Tomorrow | 2.11

We’ve been all over time.

Clarke: I want to make sure that everyone is saved! We will all survive together! Let’s share the bunker!

Grounders: Nah. Let’s have a conclave instead and whoever wins gets the bunker for their clan.

Octavia: *wins the conclave* We are one clan! We will all share the bunker! Together!

Grounders: Okay! Let’s do it! Hey Clarke, we wanna share the bunker with you now!

Crippling insecurities and carelessness get the better of us all, even Kings

the more I think about it, the less and less sense it makes for Terra to be one of the Darknesses in KH3 because like

in literally every moment after Xehanort possesses him we see Terra fighting back. in the Graveyard, in Radiant Garden, and now in darkness limbo as 0.2 showed us, ten years later, we always see Xehanort struggling to control him. why?

because he can’t.

at no point can he fully, 100% smother Terra’s influence.

the only time Xehanort and Terra seem to coexist “peacefully” is during the Apprentice-Xehanort arc – during which time their hearts were sealed and memories presumably lost.

and considering this series is constantly stressing how intelligent and farsighted Xehanort is I just can’t imagine he’s actually stupid enough to count Terra among his 13 when he knows full well by now that Terra is a force to be reckoned with. Terra would require far too much focus and effort to maintain a hold of, because a) IT DIDN’T WORK TWELVE YEARS AGO AND IT DIDN’T WORK TWO YEARS AGO SO WHY WOULD ANYTHING HAVE CHANGED, especially when b) we’ve seen that Terra’s only gotten stronger and more confident since BBS?? and c) I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again: Terra was impossible to control with Xehanort’s whole heart inside him. attempting to control him with only 1/13th of his heart is just? asking for failure? I mean really?? why don’t you just carry around a ticking time bomb while you’re at it man

anonymous asked:

you said in your post about color blindness that the first two are more common in men is there a reason for that or..? I'm curious

(Anon is referring to this post) Yes there is a reason! Red-Green colour blindness has two subtypes; deuteranomalia and protanopia. Both of which are significantly more common in men, and this is all to do with genetics and how it is inherited.

We all have 23 pairs of chromosomes, half from each parent. You’ll notice, however the 23rd pair differs from the rest. This is beacause it determines whether the individual is male or female, so it is called the sex chromosome. Females have XX and males have XY.

You’ll notice the X chromosome is much larger than the Y chromosome and this is because in addition to carrying genes that determine sex, it also carries genes that code for non-sexual characteristics, including that for red-green colour blindness. Okay so now I’m going to assume you have a vague understanding of what a recessive/dominant allele is, if not, this page gives a pretty good explanation.

I’ve made a quick graphic to sum up the next part because it can be a bit confusing:

Crucially, the gene that causes red-green colour blindness (shown in red) is recessive, so females need two copies of the gene to express the trait & be colour blind. The probability of this is low because if a female has a dominant allele on her other X chromosome (white), that will be expressed instead and she will have full colour vision. For this reason, red-green colour blindness is not very common in women (present in less than 0.5% of white women).

However, since men have the XY chromosome pair and not XX like females, if they have the colour blind gene on their only X chromosome, it will be expressed anyway. There is no corresponding dominant allele to override it. As a result, it is much more likely for a male to be colour blind (seen in 6-8% of white males).

This explanation became a hell of a lot longer than I expected but I hope this makes sense, genetics can be confusing af so I tried to break it down as much as possible. Other X linked traits include haemophilia (where blood can’t clot properly), and baldness.
