Between Two Lungs by caramelle/caramelkru

Cassian doesn’t exactly mean to, but as he’s coming up from his bow, he sort of accidentally on purpose makes eye contact with the young Erso heiress.

Her glance merely passes over him, and her face remains perfectly and diplomatically blank.

And yet, somehow, he instantly feels like he’s already managed to offend her.

Amazing Regency/Pride & Prejudice AU one-shot! Read it on AO3.

I'm not sure if someone has already asked you this, but why Miraculous?

I don’t choose the fandom, the fandom chooses me.

Like many people, when I watched the first one or two episodes of ML, I kind of laughed it off as a cute, cringe-worthy kid’s show. Then my mother unexpectedly came home with a ladybug shaped donut from Krispy Kreme while I had the second episode paused on my tablet and I got roundhouse kicked by the sense that I was meant to go down this rabbit hole.

So I kept watching, and after the next couple of episodes I found myself excited to keep watching. It was just so different from everything else I’d watched. Set in Paris. Inspired by the magical girl genre but there was a magical boy, too?? And Adrien is just so refreshing?? The tension of the love square’s back-and-forth unrequited feelings. Diverse characters. A villain who uses butterflies, one of the least threatening creatures on the planet, in a sinister way. Male friendships portrayed in a super healthy way. Fun character designs. A main character who is FLAWED and ALLOWED TO BE FLAWED and a guy who CALLS HER OUT on her shit behavior even though he’s in love with her.

And let’s be real, Marinette is me at age fifteen. Memorizing a guy’s schedule? Scheming ways to get close to him? Every other girl is the enemy? Me. All me. She is so gosh darn relatable.

On top of that, there’s the promise of things to come: a deeper mystery, more Miraculous heroes, more story-driven episodes. And going backwards, the history of how the show came to be is pretty dang great (TA’s Ladybug comic covers, the Quantic kids, the anime PV on YouTube).

The shipping… speaks for itself. The love square interactions cause exactly the kind of cognitive dissonance required for me to write fan fiction. “These two are in love but they don’t know it. I MUST FIX THIS. I MUST FIX THIS TEN MILLION TIMES.”

And character dynamics, man. The Agreste family is so fascinating I just want to put them under a microscope and watch them forever. Gabriel, hurting his son in his grief. Adrien, suffering alone. Nathalie, trying to intervene. The Gorilla, protecting them. Mamagreste, mysteriously missing. Just add superpowers. Just imagine the amount of conflict that would arise from Adrien and Gabriel discovering each other. Imagine the feeling of the betrayal, the “I’m doing this for us,” the choice Adrien would have to make between the right thing and getting his mother back.

It makes me euphoric, Anon. I’m a writer with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. There is so much to play with here.

I’m always sad when I see people say they were unable to get into it. Like, I understand. There are valid criticisms, and if you’re not looking for these things, you won’t find them. But I just think it’s a great show with a lot of Deep Shit going on in the background and the shipping drives me insane in the best of ways so yeah, that’s why Miraculous.

so let’s talk about this “cheeky cheeky idea” dan mentioned recently on his live show.

i have seen people either shrug it off or flip the fuck out thinking that it’s him coming out or some shit like that and honestly some people are taking it way too far and getting into fights with other people about what this video is about on different social media platforms. here’s the thing. dan announced this out of the goodness of his heart and there are fans taking advantage of that little thing he said and blowing it up into something much bigger. and it’s gotten a little out of hand so i just wanted to make this post before people went bat-shit crazy. it’s alright to ship phan, it’s alright to not ship phan, it’s alright to have your own opinions about this “long time coming” video. i’m not saying you can’t. but what i am saying is that while you have your own opinions, don’t get butthurt when other’s disagree with yours. if you think it has something to do with his (and phil’s) personal life that’s great!!!!! if you think it involves his professional life, fantastic!!!!! but don’t freak out and be so quick to fight people that don’t think the same thing as you. the phandom can be a really really sweet place full of nice and caring people that help each other out but things like that are making us get a bad rep and turning things somewhat sour. and the boys don’t want their fans fighting or flipping shit on each other, imagine how that would make them feel knowing that that’s what their fanbase has come to. so please, take this rant into consideration and spread the word. RESPECT EVERYONE’S OPINION AND DON’T BE SO QUICK TO PICK A FIGHT WITH PEOPLE. thank you.

♡ BABYz  ♡

I just wanna give y’all a virtual hug. Because our leader Yongguk is back, and the group is complete again. We made it through. I know I’m not the only one who’s missed Gukkie like crazy. And I know some weren’t even expecting him to come back at all. And while the kpop industry doesn’t deserve him, or the rest of B.A.P, I cannot express how happy I am that he’s back with us all.

Today it’s 11 months since I first stumbled across B.A.P and got my whole world turned upside down, and I can’t really believe that for 4 of those months my bias Yongguk has been away. He’s the reason I fell in love with this group in the first place. He inspires and motivates me so fucking much.

If someone told me one year ago that I would be fanboying over a kpop boy group I would’ve laughed in their faces. Because I’m not a kpop fan. I’m just a B.A.P fan tbh. And even more so a Yongguk fan.

Anyway. Main point: I’m really emotional today, and full of love for you BABYz and our six boys. We’re all back together now.

The first frog-find of the year is a Spring peeper (Pseudacris crucifer)!

Spring peepers are easily identifiable by the distinct ‘X’ on their backs as seen above! However, you’ll probably hear them before you see them; The Spring peeper is a member of the genus Pseudacris, commonly called “chorus frogs,” and they live up to the label. Tonight I only had to stand in the water for a few minutes before they go used to me and started singing again!

Masters of blending in with dead leaves and other surroundings, Spring peepers have no trouble hiding from any nosy humans; I stood in the middle of their performance and couldn’t see a single one until the sun went down.

Once it was dark, I got level with the water and shone my flashlight at the plants on the water’s edge. When the males inflated their throat sacs to sing, the balloon reflected the light, and after a few tries, I caught this guy!

Spring peepers are really neat and fun to catch and observe. But if you’re going catching, remember to not have any lotions, sunscreens, etc. on your hands, keep your hands wet with the water you’re searching in, and don’t handle the frog for too long!  A minute or two for photos is enough. Then put it back right where it come from!. As cute as they are, Spring peepers belong in the wild!

One you write one with the dialogue "You're cute" "Damn. I was going for intimidating and vaguely threatening." Thank you so much for your effort in writing everyone's request!

HIIII! Sorry this took me so long to reply to, I was away! I hope you enjoy it!

“Hey Juggie” Betty greeted him cheerfully as she slid into his booth. Jughead didn’t even glance up from his computer, keys tapping away. “Earth to Jughead” Betty said a bit louder. He fingers paused for a moment and he glanced up at her.

“Oh, hi Betty” He offered her a small smirk before turning back to his computer.

“What are you working on?” She asked, knowing that he probably just wanted to be left in peace, but she couldn’t help teasing him.

“My novel, I’ve got to get down all of this information while it’s still fresh in my mind.” Jughead paused again briefly to make a waving motion at her. “So if you don’t mind…”

“Okay, I get it.” Betty smiled a smile he didn’t see and walked over to where Pop was at the counter. “Hiya Pop”

“Hi Betty, what kind of milkshake are we feeling today?”

“I think I’ll go with an old fashion vanilla, and can I also get another burger for Jughead?”

“Sure thing, I’ll bring them right over.” Pop smiled at her predictability. Betty returned the smile and bounced back to Jughead. The boy gave her a look as she sat back down. Betty put her hands up in surrender.

“Don’t worry, I won’t disturb you.” Jughead made an unconvinced noise, but he didn’t kick her out. Betty watched him as he typed. A piece of hair fell across his forehead, but he didn’t make a move to brush it away. Jughead’s brow was furrowed and he was biting his lip in concentration.

“I  can feel you staring at me” Jughead’s green eyes flicked up to meet hers. His expression was a cross between annoyance and amusement.

“Sorry” Betty glanced down sheepishly, she hadn’t realized how intently she had been watching him.

“It’s okay” Jughead said with a chuckle. Betty looked back up and found him studying her. He looked at her for a few more seconds, an unreadable expression on his face. Then he went back to typing as if nothing had happened. Betty shifted uncomfortably in her seat, her face hot, trying not to read into the intensity of the look they had just shared.

Luckily, Betty was saved from her thoughts by the arrival of the milkshake and burger. Jughead glanced up at her when Pop slid a burger next to him.

“Thank Betts” He offered her a bright smile and took a huge bite. “I was just thinking that I was ready for another burger.”
“Thank me when your mouth’s not full of food” Betty said with a roll of her eyes. Jughead shrugged, unconcerned, and went back to his novel. Betty dug into her milkshake, but after a few moments she couldn’t help interrupting Jughead again. “Does it bother you that you are writing this story without knowing the ending?”

“No” with a small sigh Jughead shifted his attention back to her, “the story is a narrative, so none of the characters know the ending. Even if I knew how the story ended, I wouldn’t write it any differently. Plus, I sort of feel like I will know what my readers feel when they are reading the story, because that’s how I felt while writing it. So I can connect to them that way.” Jughead was so animated by talking about his story, that his annoyance at her interruption faded.

“But, how did you know that it was going to be an interesting story? I mean you started this when Jason drowned, before you knew it was a murder.”

“Well, even as a drowning, it still shook the town. And it was still one of the most interesting and tragic things to happen in Riverdale.”

“That’s true” Betty mused. Jughead nodded in satisfaction and went back to typing. Betty sipped her milkshake and thought about what it would be like if Jughead’s novel was published. Would people flock to Riverdale to visit the sites of the horrific events, or would people avoid their town like the plague. Would Jughead suddenly become popular or would he be a town pariah for telling it as it is. Would people come from miles around to get their copies signed by him, or maybe…

“Juggie?”

“Betts.”

“If you publish this, would you use your real name?”

“I dunno, I hadn’t really thought about it. I’m not sure if I’ll publish it or just keep it for myself and pass the story down to my kids. But if I do put it out there, I don’t think I’d use my real name. I don’t want that kind of attention.”

“That’s what I thought” Betty smiled and he returned it warily, obviously worried about more disruptions. Betty ignored it, she was thinking about what he said about kids. She hadn’t really thought about Jughead as being a dad, but she was glad that he intended to be. She thought he’d make a good one. Betty imagined her kids one day reading his story. What would they think about the way that he portrayed their mom. Betty wondered what kinds of things Jughead was saying about her in that mysterious computer document.

“Jughead, what have you-”

“Cooper, for god’s sake.” Jughead practically yelled. He got up and took Betty’s arm and pulled her to the door of Pop’s. “Go, out. I’m never going to get anything done with all of your questions.” Jughead pointed out the door and fixed her with a glare. A look of shock passed across his features when Betty giggled.

“You’re cute" Betty kissed him on the cheek, surprising him yet again. He dropped the arm that was pointing out the door. His glare faded to something along the lines of amusement.

“Damn. I was going for intimidating and vaguely threatening.” Jughead wagged his eyebrows at her. Betty laughed again,

“You’re tough guy routine might work with the rest of town, but you don’t have me fooled”

“Oh yeah?”

“Yeah, I know all about the gooey guy on the inside of that hard shell” Betty teased. Jughead huffed, knowing that she was right. He threw his hands up and turned back to the booth.

“Fine” He tossed the word over his shoulder. Betty smiled and returned to her place opposite him. Jughead shut his computer and pushed it to the side. “So what do you want to talk about?”

Just wanted to apologize for not getting to replies and all, unfortunately my body finally came to terms with everything that happened. And as of this moment I am feeling everything. I won’t be able to be on my laptop for more then 5 minutes or so because the support on my neck is nearly nonexistent. Mean pain is a thing and it likes me. A lot.

Replies will be completely delayed for the time being, until my injuries are healed and all.

I’m sorry for those of you waiting on me!

Sevella: “This was a good idea.”

Brennan: “I thought you would like it.”

Sevella: “You can almost forget we are on a scary, monster-infested island trying to figure out riddles. That were left incomplete by the murders of our elders.”

Brennan: “Sevella, I tore you away from your deep thoughts for you to think of more pleasant things. Well, that and me, of course. But I didn’t do it so you could just obsess over here instead of alone.”

Sevella: *smiles* “You’re right. I’m sorry. Staring into the fire now, thinking only of you and how much I love you.”

Brennan: “Thank you. And I love you, too.”

After the sun went down, and it got late into the evening, everyone decided to turn in for the night. It had been a long day, and there were harder ones ahead, they were sure. Now, it was time for rest.
