How To Motivate Yourself To Write

This was meant to provide motivation, but honestly, this is more of a list of ways to make sure you get it done, rather than make yourself “motivated”. Either way, this should benefit you somehow.

  • In the words of Chuck Wendig, “do not fucking multitask”. Carve out a specific time to write and use it to write. Don’t try to simultaneously write and tweet and check your email. Whether it be 15 minutes or 2 hours, write, and only write.
  • Take breaks occasionally. You can’t just sit there and fog up your creative lens. Go outside and go for a walk. Go to coffee with your friends for an hour. Do something to relax your brain for a while. It’s the same with studying. Don’t drive yourself up the wall because you feel you’re “on a roll”. Your ideas and plans will still be there when you get back. If you begin to get frustrated or your foot starts to fall asleep, take a break.
  • Use a rewards system. Say, for every 100 words, you get a piece of chocolate. After eating a regular sized Hershey’s bar, you’ve got 1200 words. Go you! (I personally fine this incredibly useful.)
  • Have people you trust hold you accountable. Have your best friend (or partner, if you’ve got one) check in when they know you should be writing to make sure you did.
  • Read books like a writer. Read a shitty book and pick it apart to find what you don’t like about it. Read a good book to find what you do like. Use these reflections and apply them to your own work. Nothing helps quite like learning from other people’s mistakes and success.
  • Don’t get stuck in the planning stages. You may get really excited while planning a story, that huge plot twist, a minor character’s backstory, etc, but keep in mind that at some point you’re going to have to sit down and hash it out. A lot of promising writers never get past the planning stages, so in the words of my very wise boyfriend: “Just write”.
  • Write in places that make your creative juices flow. Get cozy in bed with your laptop open to a word document, light a few candles, make some tea, get that incense going, and write. Music really helps to get in the mood as well, and if you would like to take a look at my writing playlist, here it is, free for public consumption.
  • Keep your mind open to new ideas and changes to your story. Your idea will develop and evolve over time, and the beauty of writing is that you can change anything you want and there are no consequences. If you decide to completely scrap a character, remove a subplot, add one in, or change the plot but keep the same characters, you’re totally free to do so. Nothing about writing is set in stone, so stay open minded to new concepts and changes and, most importantly, criticism. (I won’t elaborate on this because I might end up making a whole other post about this topic in the future.)

As always, this is just a compilation of the tips and tricks I’ve found the most useful in my own experience. They may not help, they may help a lot, it really could go either way or somewhere in between, but all the same, I hope this proves useful to you.

Laurel’s Guide to Grimoires

A while back I made a post about how I organize my Grimoire/Book of Shadows and for a long time since then I’ve wanted to a sort of 101 for creating a Grimoire/Book of Shadows. Be warned, this will be a long post! As always, this is merely my opinion, my word is not law.

-The Grimoire Basics-

What is a Grimoire?

As my own personal definition, a Grimoire is simply any book used by a witch in his/her/their own personal practice. There is no limit as to what a Grimoire can or cannot be, as each one is as unique as the witch who wrote it.

How do I use a Grimoire?

A grimoire is used to document, or keep track of, any magickal information that is relevant to the practitioner. It serves to log everything you need to know in your own personal craft.

-Types of Grimoires-

These are my own personal “styles” of grimoires that I have made over the years. These are not the only “kinds” of grimoires, merely suggestions.

- “Textbook” Grimoire: This is a grimoire that is set up to serve as a reference book, a book strictly for spiritual or magickal information.

- “Practical” Grimoire: This is a grimoire that can serve a practical purpose, such as a recipe or spell book. Often more portable than a standard grimoire.

- “Inspirational” Grimoire: These are often called inspiration journals. They are filled with spiritual images, quotes and writings to serve as a sort of “bible.”

- “Memory Keeping” or “Journal” Grimoire: This is a grimoire that serves to be a personal record of thoughts and feelings pertaining to spiritual activity in your life.

-Grimoire Keeping Methods-

- Blank bound or spiral bound Notebooks
    - I’ve actually seen someone tape composition notebooks together to get             a “thick” book.
- Recycled or used hard/soft cover books
- Binders
- OneNote/Tumblr/Internet
- Computer Folder/Flash Drive/Memory Card

-How to make a Grimoire-

I recommend that if you are starting a grimoire or are a relatively new witch, don’t even bother buying a nice, expensive, fancy journal. Most of the time (unless you’ve already done one or two grimoires before and you know exactly what you’ll be putting in this grimoire), that book will sit on a shelf and collect dust. Many new witches get excited to have a “fancy” grimoire and then become terrified of “messing up” in it which results in that book never being used. We’ve all been there, done that.

That being said, here are the basic steps I followed when making my “permanent” grimoire.

- Decide on your Grimoire Keeping Method
 - Gather the information that you would like to put into your grimoire (this can sometimes take a very long time, it took me years), although if the “write as you go” method is more comfortable for you, then go ahead.
- Organize your information. If you’re a perfectionist like me, this might take a bit. It’s also completely natural to change up your organization style later on.
- Protect/Consecrate your Grimoire. This is completely optional, but it can also be a fun “witchy” way to bond with your grimoire.
- Put all your information in your book in anyway that you desire. I found it useful to “plan” out the book before I started writing in all the information. This way I knew exactly what pages were going where.
- Decorate your Grimoire. Also, completely optional. Some people like decorating with flowers and ribbons and pictures and stickers. Other people prefer straight to the point text. Either way works perfectly fine.

A quick note for those who suffer from the perfectionist complex: don’t sweat it. We all want our books to be “perfect” but after writing about six grimoires I’ve learned that grimoires really don’t ever become “permanent” because our preferences change as we grow. If you’re worried about it being perfect, starting “planning” pages in a cheap journal. Take note of any mistakes or things you want to change. You can always create another grimoire later. Don’t let that pesky perfectionism hold you back. And if you make mistakes, try to work with them and turn them into something else instead of scrapping your book to start over.

I used to dream of having a huge, Charmed-like Grimoire, and now I prefer the small, sloppy, scrap book, messy-writing kind of grimoire. Don’t sweat it.

Things to put in your Grimoire

- Sabbats, Esbats and any Holidays you celebrate
- How to cast spells

How to organize your Grimoire

This post details my own personal Grimoire Index. However the best way to organize your grimoire would be whatever works best for you. I personally like having everything divided into matching sections. However, if you write spells a lot, you may want spell writing notes in the front, while correspondences would be better in the back. It’s all up to personal preference.

Other Grimoire Tips

- Intention Cheat Sheets. When you want to write a spell, nothing sucks more than having to flip back and forth all over your grimoire to find the information you need. My advice is to make “cheat sheets” for each of your intentions. Pick an intention, such as Money, and write down anything that corresponds to that (colors, herbs, moon phases or zodiac signs, crystals, incense, etc) this way the next time you want to do a spell for Money, you can just flip to your cheat sheet and be done. (UPDATED 4/24/17)

- Incognito Grimoire: Find a generic book that you like at a Goodwill or second hand shop. Write your witchcraft notes/correspondences in the margins and spacing. Use markers or crayons to draw pictures and symbols. You can also glue blank pages into the book so you have more space to write anything you want. This way your Grimoire can sit in plain sight on your bookshelf when you have company over and no one will be the wiser.

- So You Don’t Think You Can Grimoire: Tips and ideas for witches who struggle with the “My handwriting is terrible and I can’t draw” complex. (UPDATED 4/24/17)

- Scrapbook Altars

- Create a Magickal Memories Folder

This post will probably be a “masterpost” of sorts that I’ll continue to add to as the inspiration strikes. If anyone has any ideas or grimoire-related topics they’d like to see, feel free to share!

Jaxon Stevens
Here is a picture of a young man who, until this posting, would most likely live his day to day life as would most other young, very good looking, man, he’d live his day to day existence simple and low key, without achieving much notoriety.
But, for this young man, Jaxon Stevens, that will no longer be the case. Because of this picture, this young man is about to be dragged out of his singular, day to day existence and instead he’ll be plunged into the world of celebrity.
Here is the story behind his celebrity. Jaxon decided to act on a bet that one of his friends presented to him the previous day while they ate lunch. His friend, who was amusing himself with a photography magazine, read an advertisement about nude modeling for pay. His bet, Jaxon was to contact the photographer and express an interest in modeling for him. If the photographer was interested, Jaxon was to follow through and do the interview and modeling.
The existence of this photo verifies everything concerning what took place in Jaxon Stevens life for the next 48 hours.
So, now you find yourself wondering what the intention is for this opening dialog? Here is the purpose for this story. I was perusing throughTumblr when I came upon this photograph. When I looked at the picture, I couldn’t help but to think, “What a perfectly beautiful young man.” I couldn’t just look at the picture, appreciate his naked body, gorgeous and skulpted, in Greek diety form, Olympian perfection and just move on. Nor could I ignor his beautiful face, exotic and seductive but innocently shy. I was mesmerized and captured. I had to stop looking at the other pictures and instead I had to study his image, the picture that had immortalized him for ever. I tried to find other pictures of him, hoping that, like so many other men who posted and submitted naked pictures of themselves using many different pictures depicting many different naked and clothed images of themselves using all kinds of poses and activities. But, sadly I drew a blank. No other pictures, no identifing information that could give me a lead as to how to identify him. Nothing at all! Nada, zip, blank. Sadly I had to simply rely on the single documentation verifying his existence; his regal position amungst all other models; but his image, it’s sentual ora, erotic and delightfully delicious, imposing and confrontational but suggestively humble had to surfice and assist me with my quest: WHO IS THIS ADONIS?
Google image search yielded nothing helpful. The results showed a thumbnail duplicate of the image I already had with a caption “Man”. That’s it. Another attempt lead to the same results with an added but of information stating, models. I fought off discouragement and the feeling of defeat but instead, I decided to think outside of the box; John Doe was to become Jaxon Stevens. I decided to bring the IMAGE of this young man to life. Instead of being a flighting moment of infatuation and lustful amazement, a brief moment in my life of looking for the perfect man, somebody that I could contact, introduce myself, present my offer, and hope for my desired outcome; I’d bring him to life, a way to satisfy my ongoing quest for companionship and satisfaction. Jaxon Stevens, welcome to my blog.
Jaxon never had to work at developing his physique, as he entered puberty it became obvious that his youthful body would develop into the body of a man that would be admired and envied by all. Just like his looks, his athletic skills, his academic abilities, his sense of humor, just like everything that was attributed to Jaxon, the final outcome would be perfection. And, sure enough, as Jaxon, or Jax as his best friend called him, developed, as his boyish looks and body developed, he transitioned from cute and clumsy to gorgeous and sentual. He never developed a pimple, he never had oily skin or greasy hair. His teeth were perfect, pearly white and shiny. His smile was hypnotic, his voice became masculine but soothing. Everyone loved him, everyone envied him, everyone wanted to be him. Jaxon Stevens had no idea when it came to how much people followed his every move, how WATCHED he was. To Jax, everything was normal, just dandy. The approaching morning showed no sign of being anything but status quo. The sun lingered just below the horizon, it teased the sky with its approaching rays of golden energy as Jaxon slept peacefully holding desperately onto his final moments of sleep. It was quite obvious that Jax was experiencing a dream that was all inclusive. Looking at him while he lay there in his bed, covered with a sheet only, naked and comfortable, in a deep sleep, he sighed quietly to himself. His eyes were actively moving under his lids, back and forth, fast, faster, fast again, then slower. His face glowed as he smiled innocently; although smiling he was obviously deeply asleep, dreaming and fully engaged. Physically Jaxon was fully engaged in the dream also. His body was sweaty and glistening although it was comfortably cool in his room. His breathing was faster than usual, almost exaggerated. His cock was swollen, engulfed, pulsating slightly; light red and gorged. He was showing droplets of semantic fluid gathering around his urethra, his pee hole. His balls were sagging but it was obvious that his whole package: his cock, his balls, his orgasmic abilities were all coordinated with his dream and ready for action. Jaxon was about to experience his first nocturnal emission, his first WET DREAM. Damn, oh fuck, shit….Jaxon thought to himself as he felt his crotch area, feeling the sticky fluid that was all over his pubic hair and cock. Looking further, Jaxon found a pool of white, milky fluid on his sheet. Touching the pool of fluid with one finger, he saw that his cum was soaking into his sheet and mattress. Grabbing a dirty pair of boxers that were laying on the floor next to his bed, he vigorously wiped the cum soaked sheet as dry as he could, trying to erase any evidence of his simanal fluid so that his mom would not discover his ejaculatory mess. Smiling to himself Jaxon thought, man I just blew a huge load, had the most awesome orgasm, and I didn’t even touch myself. A no-jack-off orgasm, sweet! The morning had started with a bang. The new orgasmic experience, the first wet dream, the excitement! Wow, Jaxon thought to himself, I got to tell Kris what happened…. More to follow. What happens when Jaxon gets with Kris his homey? Stay tuned, part 2 soon to come.

Pro revenge by whistle blowing.

(long story)

One of my first jobs out of college wasn’t really a true job. I interviewed at a proprietary trading firm and was offered a job as one of their traders. Looking back, it was naive to join such a firm and this was right before the ‘08 crash. They sold themselves as being pro traders and all you had to do was put up some capital which got added to the group’s pooled fund. After that, you went through training and once the boss thought you were ready, you would 'go live’ with your trading account. There were no paychecks, but you did get to keep most of your profits. Later on, I learned that the bosses of such groups made money by either taking a cut from your profits or by taking a fee from your traded volume. This group skimmed from both sides taking 15% from your profits and a fee from your trading volume which came out to about $1.5 every 100 shares traded.

For months, I spent time learning from the “Pros,” and then I began to realize along with some of the other newbies, that the only person making money was the boss. The turnover for new traders was high. Some people lasted a month, others a year or two. As I got to know people around the office, I began finding out that very few made any money at all. The boss was a micromanager and watched the risk monitor for his group like a hawk. If you hit -$50 in a day, you were locked out and couldn’t trade anymore throughout the day. Also, you were limited to trading stocks up to $40 per share with a max size of 200 shares. It was very difficult to make a living trading like this.

Soulmate! Park Jihoon

Masterlist can be found (here)

Genre: soulmate! au + fashion designer! au; fluff
A/N: Mood board doesn’t exactly match since this was made much earlier but I still hope you enjoyed the au and feedback is always welcome! Dedicating this to my EVERYONG BBYs <3

“I love you because the entire universe conspired me to find you.”

  • Everyone was born with a tattoo of an unbloomed flower on their wrist
  • When you were close to meeting your soulmate, there will be leaves growing on it and more colour will be on the tattoo
  • By the time you meet your soulmate, both your tattoos will bloom into matching flowers
  • However, it will only bloom in the condition that you two have some of sort contact with each other and the tattoos touched
  • Soulmates will have harmonizing flowers that are only unique themselves and each flower represents how the relationship will progress
  • A sunflower may show that the relationship may be bright and cheery
  • While aster could be denoted as a delicate and dainty relationship
  • Unlike many of your friends, your tattoo wasn’t even close to blooming
  • Many of them had leaves on theirs and those who have met theirs had turned into enchanting flowers with an equally beautiful relationship that came after that
  • But you were still stuck with the same old tattoo and while it wasn’t a big deal to you
  • It did hurt when EVERYONE was literally posting about going on dates or just activities with their soulmate
  • While your friends still hung out with you, one way or another, it did just lead to the topic
  • So you channel all that frustration to your job as a tv host
  • You were a host of a popular fashion program where it talks about the latest trends and what not
  • You frequently interviewed a lot of fashion designers especially during fashion week
  • The director had informed you that you will be interviewing one of the guests
  • But they wanted to make it a bit different than the usual format
  • You were to visit the fashion designer personally at their office rather than them coming to the tv studio
  • But it required you to visit the office beforehand to get familiar with the setup
  • There wasn’t much of a difference to you anyways so you just went through your script and highlighted all your notes with a bright pink highlighter
  • When you went to had a coffee break, you noticed how your tattoo had leaves growing on it
  • You became super shocked ???
  • Cause as far as you were concerned, there wasn’t anything different with your schedule which might lead you to meet your soulmate
  • But then again, there wasn’t any point on thinking who it was as you rather just let fate play with your future
  • You did your research on the designer you were going to interview and wow you immediately fell in love with his work
  • You never realized how much you could agree with a fashion designer in terms of fashion sense
  • Cause most of the time, you were pretty much questioning wtf was on their mind when they designed such horrendous clothing
  • Like why would even use a trash bag for inspiration for a wedding dress ???
  • But this designer had a really fancy yet elegant clothing line at a really affordable price
  • It wasn’t a lie when you could see yourself buying most of the things
  • It was a week later when you went over to the designer’s office
  • “I’m looking for Park Jihoon.”
  • You smiled at the receptionist as you handed over the documents to verified yourself
  • You were pretty giddy about meeting him since it was also the first time he will revealing his face after debuting his first line
  • Like he was an extremely mysterious figure, seeing how he never showed himself even after each fashion show where usually the designer walks out
  • His secretary ushered you to a room and told you to knock and let yourself in
  • You did exactly as she said and when you heard a soft ‘come in’, you turned the doorknob and stepped in the room
  • For a moment, you were unsure if you had gone in the fitting room instead cause this boy you were seeing
  • Looked more like a model with his crystal clear skin and doe-like eyes
  • You were used to seeing fashion designers with really quirky style and bold prints
  • But he seemed to mirrored your outfit with a pink oversized hoodie
  • While you had a black pencil skirt on, he was dressed in black ripped jeans
  • You had to collect yourself and remind yourself to breathe cause ????
  • He looked hella good in such simple clothes
  • okay maybe those mismatched neon sneakers could go
  • But everything about Park Jihoon was pure aesthetic
  • Even with his messy office that had books in all sort of order and clothes with measuring tapes all around, you felt at ease
  • The atmosphere felt so familiar but you swore you had never stepped foot into this place before
  • You were taken aback when he greeted you like WOW THAT WASN’T A MANNEQUIN !!!!
  • He laughed as he waved a hand in front of you when you weren’t reacting cause your mind was still trying to process what was going on LOL
  • Instantly, you realized his laughter was probably going to be something you will be replaying in your head a lot
  • It was addicting like sugar yet it was something you couldn’t bear to lose
  • You composed yourself to stop being a mess
  • You started out by telling him the premises of the episode and how it was going to work
  • Conversations about the job flowed easily between you two as he showed you around the place and you told him where each camera could be
  • You two discussed how he came into the industry and he also asked about your job
  • You could tell he was genuinely interested and not just because he wanted to be polite
  • His eyes lit up when you told him how much you adored his clothing
  • He told you he wouldn’t mind if you tried some of his unreleased pieces since you had the same fit as the model
  • This was a good opportunity that you couldn’t miss out on tbh so you said yes eagerly
  • It felt weird when all the clothing fitted you perfectly as if it was altered and made for you
  • When you stepped out of the fitting room, Jihoon started blushing as the tips of his ears went red
  • You were made for his clothes and it didn’t help that his collection was also called ‘Seoulmate’ (I DIED AT THS PUN OKAY)
  • Just looking at you, he could already think of so many ways to style that skirt you had on
  • He just only met you but he already felt like you could be his muse
  • It was as if you two had a connection
  • But then again, you both were aware that you guys had your own soulmates so neither of you approached each other for more
  • After everything was done, he walked out of his office to the lift
  • You both reached out to press the lift button at the same time
  • That was when your tattoos accidentally met and you felt a shift in your veins
  • It was as if something had come in and filled all the empty parts of your body
  • You gasped when you noticed how your unbloomed tattoo had transformed into a pink tulip
  • It matched with Jihoon’s as he showed you with his wrist with a bright expression
  • You knew what the flower stood for: a genuine and happy relationship
  • Both of you were still sort of stunned but Jihoon straightened up as a grin took over his good looks
  • “My treat today?”
  • You remembered you had plans but that could wait as Jihoon opened the car door for you, telling you he knew a really good cafe that served fantastic food
  • As you two sip on coffee and at your dinner, you two shared personal stores about each other and you giggled about his friend’s stories where Daehwi accidentally tripped on the runway when he saw his girlfriend who was supposed to be in London
  • It was as if your souls were entwined
  • From the somewhat unplanned matching outfits to the gesture when you two spoke but everything about you two fit so perfectly
  • After dinner with him, you were surprised when there was basically a pink bouquet with every flower you could imagine waiting for you at your door after Jihoon dropped you home
  • You had to stop yourself from smiling too hard at the note as you put the flowers in a vase
  • “If I had a flower for how much I thought of you, I did be walking in a garden forever.”
  • Honestly, he just seems the type to get jealous so easily
  • But he is always trying to play it cool
  • He knows you two are soulmates but he still doesn’t like the fact that Daehwi has his arms around your shoulder
  • Or how Jinyoung would give you a hug when you congratulated him for winning his figure skating competition like he sort of puffs his cheeks when he sees that happening
  • He doesn’t bring it up to you often cause he wants to look manly and he is a bit insecure
  • But you did pinch his cheeks and just go HOW CUTE
  • And like pepper him with kisses until he realizes that yes, you love him just as much as he does
  • Jihoon is super sneaky lol
  • Like he will literally smirk in joy when you are a blushing mess
  • He will whisper things like how much he loves you or just gives you surprise kisses like eveRYWHERE
  • YOUR HEART IS NOT READY????
  • Both of you will always share hoodies and sweaters and he gets so soft when you have like sweater paws
  • But also make sure you won’t hide your flower tattoo cause he somehow hets super proud looking at it
  • Sundays are c u d d l e days
  • You two just laze around the house after having breakfast and he will always trace your tattoo whenever you are in his arms
  • You two are definitely more into sweet than savoury and like even your contacts for each other shows that??
  • He literally saves you as cinnamon roll with a bunch of heart emojis cause those are his favourite
  • You usually do the cooking and he does the dishes but he makes it a point to cook for every now and then even if it’s pasta every single time …
  • He is such a sucker for you tbh
  • You could request him to do anything for you and he would cause when Park Jihoon falls in love, he goes HARD
  • There was a time where you jokingly said you wanted to try all 31 flavours of Baskin Robin
  • 3 hours later, Jihoon comes home with Daehwi and Jinyoung carrying bags of ice cream
  • You literally went ……..
  • Well it didn’t matter anyways cause you two had a lot of ice cream to eat when you two chill at home
  • He doesn’t do much aegyo but WHEN HE WANTS SOMETHING???
  • Jihoon will literally jeojang-ed his way through everything like when he wants to eat the last piece of cookie or chocolate
  • Forehead kisses are definitely both your thing
  • Whenever he feels insecure and thinks that he is not good enough for you
  • You will wrap him into a hug and kiss him while you just gently rubbed his back
  • He sometimes mumbles in his sleep and it’s sort of cute when you asked him about him it the next day
  • “Jihoon, did you know you said my name in your sleep yesterday?”
  • “uHHHHHH you probably heard it wrongly.”
  • Then texts you later
  • “I swear seeing you in reality is so much better than in my dreams.”

Requests are always open & feel free to message me anything at all :)

Ed Sheeran’s First Date with Girlfriend Was Taylor Swift’s July 4 Party: ‘You’re Like, “Holy F—, I Know Everyone Here!”‘

Did Ed Sheeran‘s girlfriend get longtime friend Taylor Swift‘s stamp of approval? Yes — and then some! “Well, our anniversary is her 4th of July party,” Sheeran, 26, tells PEOPLE of risk advisory consultant Cherry Seaborn, 24, whom he began dating in the summer of 2015 after Swift hosted them at her famous Independence Day fête at her Rhode Island home. “I’ve known Cherry since I was 11,” adds the “Shape of You” singer — whose third album ÷ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — of his girlfriend. “She worked on Wall Street in New York, and I had like six shows [around New York in 2015].” “It was around then, and we reconnected. I went on tour again, and then I went to Taylor’s 4th of July party. I was texting [Seaborn], and she was like, ‘I’m in Rhode Island at a 4th of July party,’ and I was like, ‘So am I.’ I kinda said to Taylor, ‘Can I invite one of my old schoolmates?’ The rest is history.” Indeed, last summer, Sheeran and Seaborn celebrated their one-year anniversary at Swift’s 2016 soirée, as documented by Swift’s childhood pal Abigail Anderson on Instagram. Swift’s annual summer bashes have fueled headlines the past few years, with squad members from Karlie Kloss and Blake Lively to Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne descending on her estate for the holiday weekend. “It’s just a load of like-minded people that you would never expect to see in the same place, together,” Sheeran says of the parties. “I found myself chatting to Ryan Reynolds for a long time, and I did not expect to see him there. [Taylor]’s kind of a magnet for like-minded people, and they’re always super-sweet. Anyone that’s around her is very, very nice. It’s a fun party. But it’s a lot of stories. You walk in, and you’re like, ‘Holy f—! I know everyone in here!’ It’s cool.” In addition to providing a space for Sheeran’s relationship to blossom, Swift and Seaborn have become friends themselves, the “Castle on the Hill” singer says. “Her and Taylor have hung out without me quite a few times; I think they have gal chats,” he says. “I don’t know what they get up to, talking about cats or whatever.”

http://mabelpodcast.com is amazing, it’s an eerie story about a woman trying to get in touch with the estranged granddaughter of the woman she takes care of as a live-in nurse. There’s ghosts, or faeries, or something else eerie.

http://thebrightsessions.com is a sweet, light podcast about a bunch of kids (high school and college age) who have superpowers and go to therapy. There’s a thriller element, lots of queer rep, and tons of in-world documents/blogs/etc created.

http://www.kingfallsam.com/ is about the radio hosts of the overnight call-in show in King Falls, a town where the weird happens.  Reminds me of Eerie, Indiana, if you ever saw that show.

http://withinthewires.com is by the Welcome to Night Vale people and it’s a creepy horror story about an oppressive regime and women escaping from it, and sisters and love and memory and identity.

https://arsparadoxica.com/ is a cold-war-style spy show about time travel and accidental history and science and people who are broken in interesting ways.

http://www.albasalix.com/ is a silly fairy-tale comedy that reminds me in all the best ways of a great sitcom. It’s about the grumpy Royal Physician to the King in a fantasy land and the idiots that plague her.

http://woodenovercoats.com/ reminds me instead of the great old British comedies like Fawlty Towers and Are You Being Served? It’s about a struggling funeral home on a tiny island and is lightly surreal. (It’s narrated by a mouse, for starters).

http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/panoply/the-message The Message and Life After are each one-season shows on this same stream. The Message is about a dangerous sound/music being studied; lif-e.af/ter is about people who live on via their social media profiles after death.

http://iriscasefiles.tumblr.com only has two eps, but it’s a cool adventure-y mystery in outerspace about a biologist and, I think, a revolution.

http://www.wolf359.fm/ is incredible, it’s about a small crew on a deep-space science mission that quickly goes bad – but it’s funny and charming and full of found family.

http://www.thepenumbrapodcast.com/ is a genre-bending semi-noir podcast about a grand hotel just this side of nowhere and the people that inhabit it.

http://thebridgepod.com is a tale of the transcontinental bridge, a once-grand project that has fallen to ruin, the mystery of what happened to those who once lived there, and deep-sea monsters and the eco-terrorists who love'em.

http://pleasuretownshow.com/ is about a turn of the century town in Oklahoma that was once envisioned as a hedonistic utopia but quickly fell to the vaguarities of man.

http://thrillingadventurehour.com/ now rarely updated, but with tons of back episodes – an old-school radio play type show.  The two stories that anchor it are Sparks Nevada, Marshall on Mars (space cowboys!) and Beyond Belief (glamorous NYC couple drinks, encounters the supernatural, amuses themselves by resolving problems) but there are quite a few serial shows.

http://www.eos10.com/ is about a couple of doctors on a space station that serves as an intergalactic travel hub, and is silly and ridiculous and worth it.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-elysium-project/id955156631?mt=2 is about folks who were experimented on and given strange powers, and have now escaped from the people who had them captive.  Really interesting take on how the powers work, IMO, and definitely scary sometimes.

http://rustyquill.com/the-magnus-archives/ is a weekly reading from, well, The Magnus Archives, a collection of eerie, horror-tastic documents in possession of a group that specializes in studying the weird.

http://www.archive81.com/ is also about both the library and librarian of a weird collection.  I stopped listening at the beginning of season 2 because of some pretty explicitly on-tape torture, but before that it was good.

https://www.lessergodspodcast.com/ is about the Final Five – the last generation of humans after a reproductive apocalypse.  They live in decadent fame as the world ends and people desperately try to create more people.  I wish this was fully acted rather than read in-perspective, I have a hard time keeping characters apart sometimes, but it’s good stuff in terms of world-building.

https://greaterbostonshow.com/ reminds me of a slightly more serious Douglas Adams, it’s a slightly surreal show about people in Boston and…weirdness.

http://www.returnhomepodcast.com/ is about an ordinary guy who returns home to find his dad has forgotten him, his mother is missing, and the Society of Shadows needs him.  The writing starts out pretty cliche but it gets better as the show goes on.

http://www.ourfaircity.com/ is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi… I’m not sure what to call it.  It’s not a comedy, but it is weirdly funny.  It’s not horror, but it can be horrific.  I have audio processing issues and this one gives me trouble, but when I can puzzle it through it’s usually worth it.

http://www.limetownstories.com/ is so so so good and I so hope for another season – a decade ago a scientific collective/town disappeared completely, to a person.  A reporter related to one of them investigates what could happen.  Heart-poundingly scary in all the best ways.

http://pnwstories.com/ has The Black Tapes, Tanis, and Rabbits, all presented as very ordinary NPR-style podcasts about weird and mysterious things – a collection of supernatural events that a scientist is studying, a place/state of mind/eerie thing called Tanis, and an ARG/real-world game.  I like’em well enough but they lean on the same tropes, so pick one and stick with it IMO.

http://www.lorepodcast.com/ is more folklore than fiction, but it’s good storytelling about mysterious and creepy and lovely things, so I think it belongs here.

On my yet-to-be-listened-to list:

http://www.hectorvsthefuture.com/

http://www.tarynmaxximilliandafoe.com/welcome-to-mollyville/

I… think that’s everything fictional/storytelling that I’ve got right now.

Let’s be history detectives...

As I’ve been posting old photos from my collection on here and my personal blog I’ve mentioned a few times that my favorite thing in the world is to buy historical photos/albums/diaries/etc. with little or no identification and try to track down clues about them.

I’ve received a few PMs (and get questioned often in real life) as to how I go about this, so I thought I would document the project I’m working on today to give people a basic idea of my process.

TODAY’S PROJECT…

is this “A Line A Day” five year diary which covers the years 1933-1937.

I’ve featured it before on Ye Olde News for it’s page of “Nothing Special” entries.

The diary has no name in it and the majority of the entries are incredibly vague such as “I went downtown” or “It snowed today”.

Let’s see what we can find out.

She Tastes like Candlelight

MSR

Explicit

It starts with, of all things, a pair of old jeans and a t-shirt.

Logically, he knows it doesn’t make sense. She comes to work in form-fitted jackets that go tight about her waist. She’s been foregoing the baggy slacks in favor of skirts that stop just below the knees, with nylons clinging to the defined musculature of her calves; he’s pretty sure he can count on one hand the number of times he’s seen her wear shoes other than heels, excluding the clinical, white shoes she wears with her scrubs during autopsies.

He’s seen the looks she gets. Sometimes, it’s during an interview, when a witness’s gaze will linger just a little too long on her bustline, and her hand will go up and fiddle with her necklace, her arm blocking her chest in subtle defiance. Other times, it’s men on the streets of the city, shouting out obscenities to her, having the audacity to call her “baby,” and “sweetheart,” and he fights the urge to yell right back, brandishing his badge and his gun, wanting to scare the misogyny right out of the bones of anyone who thinks they’re entitled to her body, but he knows that she would find it condescending. “Thank you, but I can handle myself, Mulder,” she’d say, and it’s not that he thinks she can’t—he just doesn’t want her to have to.

And still other times, the looks come not from strangers on the sidewalk, or from people he can reduce to photos in a casefile, but from their peers. Educated, talented men who transform themselves into slobbery, teenage boys when sitting adjacent to her in meetings, eyeing her with an inappropriate hunger while she jots down notes in the margins of her agenda sheet. More than once, Mulder has found himself in the elevator with a man who will look down at Scully, and then catch Mulder’s eye over the top of her head, just so that he can wink, including him in some inside joke he has no interest being a part of.

He supposes that he empirically knows that Scully is attractive—it’s more or less objective fact—but he’s never allowed himself to notice. He’s trained himself to observe her through a filter. He considers her appearance through what he aptly names the Sexual Harassment Video Gaze. He quickly shuts down any thought that could be used as an example in a training tape on inappropriate office behavior.

Hate To Love You

Pairings: Bucky Barnes x Reader

Warnings: Swearing, fighting, violence, blood, inury, bad blood between Reader and Bucky, mentions of breakup

Word Count: 1087

Summary: After you and Bucky breakup you can’t stand to be apart of the Avengers any longer, choosing instead to work for yourself. However when Steve asks for your help, telling you that there was no one else he could ask you agreed to one more mission.

A/N: I’m re posting this from my old blog, so I’m going to keep the original tag post for part 2 but if you wanted to be added just let me know right HERE !!

Your name: submit What is this?

“There isn’t anybody else?”
“Sorry y/n, Wanda’s still in Sokovia and I couldn’t get Nat back on such short notice.”
“It’s fine, not your fault Steve,” I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. “What time do we fly out?”
“Zero six hundred tomorrow,” He replied, the sound of relief hanging in his voice. “Thanks for this y/n, I owe you.”
“Yeah, yeah.”

I disconnected the call, feeling my shoulders slump as I leant back on the kitchen bench, already exhausted by the thought of tomorrow’s mission. It wasn’t so much the mission itself though, it would be nice to get back into doing what I’d trained for years to do, it would be nice seeing Steve again. However I was also one hundred percent sure that Bucky would also be assigned on the mission, hence why I had a blooming headache starting already.

It had been eight months since I’d last seen or spoken to him, eight months since we broke up in a fit of shouting, tears and thrown objects. It hadn’t been pleasant and as a result I’d walked straight out of the Avengers compound, fully intending to never ever go back. I had been determined back then to get out of that business completely, find an apartment in the city and go to a normal nine to five job like everybody else. However, once something was in your life it was hard to let it go, so I found myself doing odd freelancing jobs, sometimes even for Nick Fury if he asked.
I wasn’t at all surprised that he’d passed my new number onto Steve, telling him that I would be more than happy to help him out if he needed.

Pushing myself off the bench I moved to the kitchen cabinet, pulling down a glass and the bottle of whiskey I kept for occasions such as these. Uncapping the lid I poured two fingers into the glass, swallowing them down in only two mouthfuls, the amber liquid burning as it went down my throat. I looked up at the clock as I poured out a little more alcohol. Only seven hours to take off.

-

The sound of my boots on the tarmac seemed to magnify in the quiet morning, the fog still hanging low to the ground and the sun only barely peeking out in the horizon. I took a deep breath and watched as it misted out in front of me in the frigid morning air.

“Y/n!”
I spun around at the call of my name, my eyes landing on Steve, dressed up in his Captain America suit, the cap hanging off one of his wrists. He jogged the last feet between us, bringing me swiftly into his arms, lifting me up slightly off the ground.
“It’s so good to see you!” I said with a genuine smile, having only just realized how much I actually missed him. “Eight months hasn’t changed you a bit.”
He shrugged, releasing me from his grip and standing back, his eyes sweeping over my form.
“It’s changed you though,” He chuckled. “You look good y/n.”
“Thanks,” I murmured, feeling the blush creep over my cheeks.

We were pulled from our short reunion as someone cleared their throat behind us, my eyes landing on Bucky, his jaw tense and tight.
“Mind if we move this along?” he glowered, his eyes barely sweeping over me as he turned his glare to Steve.
Steve looked like he was about to reply but I cut him off before he had the chance, my hand landing on my hip as I glared back at the soldier.
“Nice to know that hostility hasn’t left your personality James.”
“You bring it out in me,” He spat back, lips set in a thin line.

Without another word he pushed past us both, making sure that his shoulder bumped mine as he passed, the nudge causing me to stumble slightly. I glared venomously at the back of his head, my hands balling into fists at my side. At this very second the only thing I wanted to do was pull the glock from where it was resting on my side and shoot a nice hole through that metal shoulder of his.

Steve squeezed my shoulder, probably guessing my train of thought, the expression on his face filled with guilt.
“Sorry y/n,” He said. “I didn’t think he’d act quite like that.”
“What exactly were you expecting? It’s not like we ended our relationship on the best of terms,” Steve grimaced and I suddenly felt shitty for taking it out on him; he wasn’t the one acting like a total dick. “Honestly, it’s fine Steve, this is after all a job and no matter how we feel towards each other we might as well be professional about it.”

I am interested in the Sicilian and Italian traditions! Can you direct me as to where to learn more about this/explain the basics of this practice? Thank you so much- your blog is great:)

Italian Witchcraft and Folklore

Hey! That’s wonderful! They’re surprisingly difficult to find any accurate information on!
My best resources are the article by Sabina Magliocco titled Witchcraft, healing, and vernacular magic in Italy, a less reliable article (that mixes witch-lore and folk magic all together) by J.B. Andrews called Neapolitan Witchcraft, and Carlo Ginzburg’s book The Night Battles about the benandanti in Friuli (Northeastern region of Italy).

If anyone knows any other sources feel free to list them!

Italian witch lore is very old, as there have been legends of witches in this region for a very long, accountable period. The word strega (witch) most likely comes from the Latin strix (screech owl) which witches were thought to take the shape of in the night. The practice of witchcraft is called stregoneria, a male witch is a stregone, and a female witch is a strega.
There are more legends of Italian witches in the south (particularly near Naples). One of the most famous is the story of the witches of Benevento, who convened beneath a walnut tree on a hill therein, and danced and worshiped the Devil. This tree was supposedly cut down.

There is a popular image of a witch who arises among Christian tradition in Italy, even still today. This witch is called Old Befana or Bella Befana(Bruta BefanaBella Befana or Vecchia Befana) who is a good witch who lived alone in a small cottage. One day, three wise men knocked on her door. “Behold! The child of God is born, (yada yada) we’re going to find him and bring him gifts! Will you join us Old Befana?” Now, Old Befana was glad to hear the news and excited to meet the new babe and give it what gifts she could. However, she was not one to shuck her responsibilities so she said she would have to wait until her chores were completed. They agreed and she saw them off, before finishing her cleaning. Once her duties were completed, she packed up her presents for the babe, hopped promptly onto the broom she had just finished sweeping with, and flew out the chimney into the cold night. However, they had not told her how to find them again! Not wanting to deny the boy his gifts, she decided to give some to all the little children she passed on her way, as any might be the new born child of God. Every year on that same night, Old Befana rides out on her broom and deposits gifts for little children, in hopes that one day she will finally find the baby Jesus and give him the presents she has been holding all this time.

In southern Italy, many of the tales of witches (streghe) and folk healers (fattucchiere, or ‘fixers’) tell of the songs they sing to work their magic. Unfortunately, this seems to be all anyone knows on the subject, and I can’t find any references or information on these songs!
In lore, the witches of both benevolent and malefic natures are closely related or interchangeable with more faerie-like spirits. The Janare of Naples/Janas of Sardinia (lit. followers of Diana) are magical women said to live in Neolithic shaft tombs and are expert weavers and spinners. They sometimes intermarry with humans, but are very different from the cogas  (or little cooks) of Sardinia, who are malefic witches that cook and eat their victims.

Most folk magic in Italy has died out, even in many of the rural areas. What is documented and what remains is all, unsurprisingly, Catholic magic. Much of it draws to saints, prayers, and Catholic holy tools. One name for this form of magic is benedicaria. However, much of it seems more agricultural or magical and less religious in nature. There is no point assuming this other source is pagan, because we could never prove where almost of any of it originated.

Most witchcraft you will find today in Italy, especially in urbanized areas, is of a New Age or Neo-pagan persuasion. Neo-Wicca is about the best you can hope to find, and even that is comparatively rare to that found in Great Britain, Australia, and the U.S.

In conversations about Italian magic and witchcraft, Raven Grimassi’s book Italian Witchcraft tends to come up. THIS BOOK IS UTTER BULLSHIT. HOGWASH. STUFF AND NONSENSE. It’s almost literally just Neo-Wicca with different names and some made up information. I’m not exaggerating. If you have this book, it’s better off as kindling than on your bookshelf. Just saying.
Charles Leland’s book Aradia: The Gospel of the Witches is a pretty piece of poetry, and perhaps has some truths in it, but it can never be relied upon. His source is not credible, and the information doesn’t add up well. It is a beautiful book, but not an accurate account of Italian magic or witchcraft.

Here are a few blog posts I have made relating to Italian witchcraft and folk magic:

I really want to get into astrology and know about it as much as you do(you really inspire me) but I don't know where to start. and after the basics, where do I learn the more complex stuff? thanks

Aaaaaahh your kindness inspires me!!! And I’m so glad you’re so interested in astrology!

I am going to assume that by “the basics” you mean the definitions of the planets, signs, and houses, and probably also what a planet in a house means and a planet in a sign and so on. So I’ll assume that by “more complex stuff” you mean aspects and/or major aspect patterns, interceptions, duplications, asteroid stuff, progressions, transits, draconic charts, etc etc.

OK, so. I’ll be honest.
I learned mostly from Google.
In the early stages of my learning, I was looking to bloggers to answer my questions, but I couldn’t find anyone who knew a lot of the complex stuff and would give me the in-depth answers I wanted, to I just googled the cheese out of it. I’m talking clicking every article for 10+ pages on one topic.
Now, I admit one can learn an awful lot that way, but it is not exactly efficient, and I certainly want to give you more direction than I got.

So, here is a brief set of references that can help you learn astrology more efficiently than I did.

1. Astrology books. The internet has a lot of stuff on it, but I have never found more information than when I have paid for it. There are a lot of astrology books on amazon, but I honestly found the most books in a sort of hippie-shop in a city near me called the Dancing Moon. If you have a hippie-shop near you, definitely check it out. Also, used book stores sometimes have interesting collections of astro books.
A few books that I have and enjoy:

  • Astrology of the Moon by Amy Herring–talks about moon signs and houses as well as progressed moon signs and houses, really helped me out concerning progressions
  • Astrology, Karma, and Transformation by Stephen Arroyo–really in-depth look at the outer planets, karma and reincarnation in the birth chart
  • The Book of Pluto by Steven Forrest–REALLY in-depth look at Pluto

I don’t have many astrology books because books are expensive and astrology books are not easy for me to find, but I adore the books I do have, and they make it a lot easier for me to learn (as I get distracted easily on the computer)

2. Websites made for learning astrology. To be honest, I don’t use these much, so I don’t really know if they go as in-depth as I assume, but you may find them helpful.

3. Websites and articles. There are particular websites I return to frequently, because I find them so helpful. I bookmark a LOT of things, and I keep those bookmarks organized for easy reference.
Here are a few sites that help me:

  • http://astrofix.net/ –this is GREAT for studying aspects because it uses short phrases to explain how a planets energy works with another planets energy. There is also a series of posts on Nodes and rulers of houses in houses which is really great. Hover over the “Explore” button to navigate to these.
  • http://surrealspotlight.blogspot.com/search/label/astrology –this blog no longer updates, but it has a lot of really interesting posts discussing things well beyond planet in house/sign.
  • http://wordsforthepeople.com/site-map/ –Scroll down to “Articles” and “Blog” and you will see a list of complex and often spiritual astro topics, many of which regard transits.
  • http://wordsforthepeople.com/site-map/I like this one less, but it does have some interesting articles. More transit stuff, among other things.
  • http://www.llewellyn.com/journal/article_topic.php?article_topic=Astrology –These articles are short, but so specific and interesting, I love them.
  • https://skywriter.wordpress.com/ –another that talks a lot about transits (there are a lot of sites about these) but if you dig into her blog you can find some other stuff, too, specifically about how to calculate your dominant planet (without using astro.com) and a discussion of stelliums and alpha planets.
  • http://www.healwithastrology.com/blog/ –so this is a little more basic but it is great because it offers advice. Like, legitimate advice that I have found very helpful, not just “You’re an Aries (sun), so try to keep your cool” but very spiritual and meaningful advice. the links on the side labelled 2nd house, 12th house, moon signs, and sun through the houses are most relevant.
  • http://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/ohmystars/astrology/ –more interesting articles on astrology, some of which regard current events and transits. I originally found this because I was looking for more info on yods, and it gave a different perspective than most other sites (most sites say “yods are great, they speak of untold power!” and one blogger on this site write something along the lines of “yeah, yods can be great, but they are so awkward to work with because in order to make those aspects the planets have to be in signs that don’t work well together”
  • http://feeds.ezinearticles.com/category/Arts-and-Entertainment:Astrology.xml –this has a bit of numerology riddled in, but a decent amount of neat astro articles
  • http://pegasusastrology.com/articles –a few articles from a tumblr blogger I follow. I really enjoyed the draconic astrology one and the “Discovering the themes in your chart” one.
  • https://www.scribd.com/doc/31151867/2204105-Pluto-Sign-House-Aspect –ok so I linked you to a very specific and possibly “basic” article about Pluto here, but I love it so much I had to include it.  I honestly have no idea how to navigate the main site, Scribd, and sometimes when I click on stuff it says I have to be a member to view the whole document and sometimes it doesn’t, but this article and many of the “suggested” articles to the side and at the bottom are unrestricted and quite fun to read.
  • http://teachmeastrology.com/midpoint-calculator/#47 – this is a midpoint calculator. Midpoints are something I am only just getting into, so I can’t say much, but it tells you all your midpoints and has short descriptions of them. A good place to begin, I guess.
  • http://astromatrix.org/ –has descriptions of all the transit and natal aspects. Handy reference.
  • http://astro-charts.com/--handy for spotting major aspect patterns in a chart, as the computer does it for you. However, astro.com makes more accurate charts, and astro-charts isn’t perfect when it comes to spotting aspect patterns–for example, I have a stellium, five planets in a house, and it didn’t catch it. So this is helpful, but make sure to do some work yourself as well to be certain.

4. Bloggers and forums. There are lots of places where you can talk to other people about astrology. I have never used any forums myself, but I do read some forum posts for reference. I do talk to plenty of tumblr bloggers, though.

Here are a few blogs that usually go beyond planets in signs/houses–unfortunately I haven’t found many.

5. Google will always be your friend. As will I! Asking either of us questions is always a pretty decent way to find stuff out.

Aaaannd that wasn’t as brief as I thought it would be. Oh well. Probably a good thing.

I hope this helps!

FINALLY! The next one-shot in the klance YouTuber AU! The next thing I post probably won’t be a part of this AU since I work on a ton of stuff and I still need to finish a lot of it, but I wanted to post this today as a thank you!

I’m not going to link the other one-shots, just know that from now on these one-shots will be tagged with ‘klance youtuber au’ on my tumblr. The series can be found on my AO3 here.

This one is how Lance and Keith first met!! Most of the one-shots in this AU are gonna be entirely fluff, unlike the last one, but who knows? I’ll probably find a way to incorporate more angst at some point. I hope you guys like it!

Keith hated crowds, and he knew he always would. The feeling of being in a space that wasn’t quite big enough for all the people in it made him extremely uncomfortable, especially since he always felt everyone was staring at him, for some reason. Talking to one person he didn’t know was bad enough, but being surrounded by them? A nightmare, as far as he was concerned.

Stupid VidCon. Stupid Shiro and his stupid, stupid YouTube channel. Why would anyone want to document their life on video for an audience, anyway? Sometimes Keith wondered how they were even friends.

And it didn’t help that he was completely, hopelessly, lost. The directions Shiro had given him made absolutely no sense! Apparently he was supposed to ‘look for where Allura’s selling makeup’, but Keith didn’t know who Allura was, much less where she sold her line of 'limited-addition lipsticks.’ The only thing he knew about Allura was that at some point she’d taught Shiro how to successfully do winged eye-liner, and now he wore it all the time.

Keith sighed, and looked back down at the notepad in his hand, with the list of Shiro’s instructions for where to go. They still didn’t help. And, to make matters worse, Keith forgot to look where he was going, and bumped straight into someone else.

When Steve’s Away Part 2

Pairings: Steve Rogers x Reader, Bucky Barnes x Reader

Warnings: a little angst, crude innuendo, swearing

Word Count: 1065

Summary: Steve’s about to leave on a three week mission leaving you at the compound. Just before he goes though he gives you a proposition you aren’t quite sure what to do with.

A/N: Sorry I haven’t posted all week, life has been kicking my ass. Hope you enjoy this next part though !!

Your name: submit What is this?

The first week of Steve being away I mostly stayed in our room, admittedly a little terrified over what he and Bucky might have spoken about. The few occasions I had run into him over the last few days had been a little awkward, mostly on my part. I’d stuttered and blushed around him as though I was a sixth grader with her first crush. Bucky of course, found it hilarious; he’d throw a wink my way, waggle his eyebrows a little and leave the room. It was maddening.

Steve’s comment had been so left field that I really and truly didn’t know what to do with it. Strictly speaking it wasn’t permission for Bucky to fuck me into oblivion while he was out of town, but it also wasn’t a warning not to. It was like he was leaving the decision completely up to us, and I would have been kidding myself if I hadn’t thought about it while lying in bed all alone. Since the moment Bucky had moved in I’d found him attractive, there was just something about him I couldn’t help but like. He was different from Steve but similar in a lot of ways, maybe just a little rougher around the edges.

Once, at the tail end of one of Tony’s parties I’d made a backhanded comment to Steve about the shape of Bucky’s ass and how much I wanted to slap it, tequila had never been my friend. He’d laughed it off, probably putting it down to me just being drunk, but I couldn’t help but think that maybe this whole thing stemmed from that. Three weeks wasn’t really a long time to be away in the grand scheme of things and it wasn’t like Steve and I had a rambunctious sex life, it was more of a when the time hit sort of deal. The fact that he was okay with any of this was really throwing me.

Deciding on clearing my head a little I made my way down into the kitchen, pulling out the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies. Whenever I had a lot on my mind baking seemed to help focus me a little. Mixing all the ingredients together into the bowl, I was so focused on my task that I didn’t hear when Bucky entered the room; a startled gasp falling from my lips as he locked me to the bench with his arms.
“Are you gonna avoid me the whole time?” He whispered, his breath hot against the side of my neck, causing a shiver to roll down my spine.
“N - no.”

THE SECRETS YOU KEEP - PART 1

A/N: So yeah I don’t know what the heck this is going to be called but I was just excited to post the first little part I have.

Your name: submit What is this?

I scrolled through my phone as I entered the studio room’s double doors. When I entered inside I could tell the room had just fallen quiet from my entrance. I looked up and found James and Max sitting in chairs near the soundboard but there was an unknown face.
