Making good progress on this painting of an Echeveria hybrid. I spotted this plant at the Rockefeller Center desert installation earlier this year. Today I found a similar plant - that’s Echeveria ‘Neon Breakers’, another hybrid Echeveria, in the corner. The colors are a bit different but the frills are so similar that it’s a helpful painting reference!
Hey everyone! I’ve always had a hard time finding steps for the autumn grass so I made a couple myself. These are based off one design I found earlier (and I have no idea who designed them. The design itself is called “mossy autumn stones”. LMK if you know who designed it plz)
edit: these designs are inspired by an original design by lilycovecrossing (now deactivated)
The sudden shouting caused you to be jerked rather abruptly from your sleep and into the wooden floor of your bedroom.
“What?!” You shouted, not being to see infront of you.
“Oh right, my apologies.” The voice of none other than Newt Scamander came from the side of your room.
You heard him mutter the lumos charm and you flinched whenever your room became basked in bright light. “What are you doing?” You asked groggily, letting your hand fall from your face as you looked up to stare at your tall friend.
“I wanted to tell you about the Ridgeback dragons we found earlier this week.” He said excitedly, helping you off the floor before digging through his case for his notebook.
You shoved your reading glasses on your face and waited for him. “You know as much as I admire your enthusiasm, a little warning next time would be greatly appriciated.” You said, putting on your night coat.
Newt looked up and smiled apologetically. “I am sorry about that, but this is important.”
You smiled and took the notebook he handed to you, eyes scanning over the scrawled and rushed cursive you had become an expert at reading.
Newt took a seat in your desk chair, watching you and scanning your face for any kinds of reaction.
You had joined Newt on the grand adventure of traveling across several continents for the research book he was writing, try as he might he was rather bad at keeping track of his case and making sure it remained secure.
That’s where you came in, making sure he always had the right case and that it was closed at all times. You also did trivial things like make cover stories for muggles and getting him out of the tight corners he always manages to find himself in.
Newt also insists that you make the best cup of tea, which is a bonus for him.
The two of you worked well, and even though it took him awhile to admit it, Newt does find having another person around to keep him grounded makes the job a lot more easier.
Plus his creatures liked you, yet another bonus in his mind.
“Flame shooting baby dragons, sounds like a wonderful time.” You mumbled, flipping the page.
Newt laughed. “Yes but they aren’t very ferocious creatures.”
You smiled and nodded before your eyes caught another sentence. “Water mamals for a dragon? That’s a bizarre case.”
Newt nodded, appriciating the fact you knew such a thing. “Yes, I plan to discover more about that later.”
“Should be fun.” You said standing and handing him back his notebook. “I’ll make sure to have everything prepared for it then.”
Newt nodded, walking to the threshold and turning around to face you. “Thank you, (Y/n).” He said, walking out of your room and closing the door behind him.
You were about to turn off your lamp when there was a knock on your door.
You laughed and opened the door, peering out to see Newt standing there. “Yes, Mr. Scamander?”
He cleared his throat, rocking slightly back and forth. “Honestly though, I wanted to let you know I really appreciate all the help you’ve been on this and I don’t think I say it enough.”
You leaned your head against the doorframe. “You really shouldn’t worry but I appriciate the sentiment, so thank you.”
Newt nodded and quickly kissed the top of your forehead. “Sweet dreams.” He said before dashing off down the hall.
