Rick Riordan won a Stonewall award today

for his second Magnus Chase book, due to the inclusion of the character Alex Fierro who is gender fluid. This was the speech he gave, and it really distills why I love this author and his works so much, and why I will always recommend his works to anyone and everyone.

“Thank you for inviting me here today. As I told the Stonewall Award Committee, this is an honor both humbling and unexpected.

So, what is an old cis straight white male doing up here? Where did I get the nerve to write Alex Fierro, a transgender, gender fluid child of Loki in The Hammer of Thor, and why should I get cookies for that?

These are all fair and valid questions, which I have been asking myself a lot.

I think, to support young LGBTQ readers, the most important thing publishing can do is to publish and promote more stories by LGBTQ authors, authentic experiences by authentic voices. We have to keep pushing for this. The Stonewall committee’s work is a critical part of that effort. I can only accept the Stonewall Award in the sense that I accept a call to action – firstly, to do more myself to read and promote books by LGBTQ authors.

But also, it’s a call to do better in my own writing. As one of my genderqueer readers told me recently, “Hey, thanks for Alex. You didn’t do a terrible job!” I thought: Yes! Not doing a terrible job was my goal!

As important as it is to offer authentic voices and empower authors and role models from within LGBTQ community, it’s is also important that LGBTQ kids see themselves reflected and valued in the larger world of mass media, including my books. I know this because my non-heteronormative readers tell me so. They actively lobby to see characters like themselves in my books. They like the universe I’ve created. They want to be part of it. They deserve that opportunity. It’s important that I, as a mainstream author, say, “I see you. You matter. Your life experience may not be like mine, but it is no less valid and no less real. I will do whatever I can to understand and accurately include you in my stories, in my world. I will not erase you.”

People all over the political spectrum often ask me, “Why can’t you just stay silent on these issues? Just don’t include LGBTQ material and everybody will be happy.” This assumes that silence is the natural neutral position. But silence is not neutral. It’s an active choice. Silence is great when you are listening. Silence is not so great when you are using it to ignore or exclude.

But that’s all macro, ‘big picture’ stuff. Yes, I think the principles are important. Yes, in the abstract, I feel an obligation to write the world as I see it: beautiful because of its variations. Where I can’t draw on personal experience, I listen, I read a lot – in particular I want to credit Beyond Magenta and Gender Outlaws for helping me understand more about the perspective of my character Alex Fierro – and I trust that much of the human experience is universal. You can’t go too far wrong if you use empathy as your lens. But the reason I wrote Alex Fierro, or Nico di Angelo, or any of my characters, is much more personal.

I was a teacher for many years, in public and private school, California and Texas. During those years, I taught all kinds of kids. I want them all to know that I see them. They matter. I write characters to honor my students, and to make up for what I wished I could have done for them in the classroom.

I think about my former student Adrian (a pseudonym), back in the 90s in San Francisco. Adrian used the pronouns he and him, so I will call him that, but I suspect Adrian might have had more freedom and more options as to how he self-identified in school were he growing up today. His peers, his teachers, his family all understood that Adrian was female, despite his birth designation. Since kindergarten, he had self-selected to be among the girls – socially, athletically, academically. He was one of our girls. And although he got support and acceptance at the school, I don’t know that I helped him as much as I could, or that I tried to understand his needs and his journey. At that time in my life, I didn’t have the experience, the vocabulary, or frankly the emotional capacity to have that conversation. When we broke into social skills groups, for instance, boys apart from girls, he came into my group with the boys, I think because he felt it was required, but I feel like I missed the opportunity to sit with him and ask him what he wanted. And to assure him it was okay, whichever choice he made. I learned more from Adrian than I taught him. Twenty years later, Alex Fierro is for Adrian.

I think about Jane (pseudonym), another one of my students who was a straight cis-female with two fantastic moms. Again, for LGBTQ families, San Francisco was a pretty good place to live in the 90s, but as we know, prejudice has no geographical border. You cannot build a wall high enough to keep it out. I know Jane got flack about her family. I did what I could to support her, but I don’t think I did enough. I remember the day Jane’s drama class was happening in my classroom. The teacher was new – our first African American male teacher, which we were all really excited about – and this was only his third week. I was sitting at my desk, grading papers, while the teacher did a free association exercise. One of his examples was ‘fruit – gay.’ I think he did it because he thought it would be funny to middle schoolers. After the class, I asked to see the teacher one on one. I asked him to be aware of what he was saying and how that might be hurtful. I know. Me, a white guy, lecturing this Black teacher about hurtful words. He got defensive and quit, because he said he could not promise to not use that language again. At the time, I felt like I needed to do something, to stand up especially for Jane and her family. But did I make things better handling it as I did? I think I missed an opportunity to open a dialogue about how different people experience hurtful labels. Emmie and Josephine and their daughter Georgina, the family I introduce in The Dark Prophecy, are for Jane.

I think about Amy, and Mark, and Nicholas … All former students who have come out as gay since I taught them in middle school. All have gone on to have successful careers and happy families. When I taught them, I knew they were different. Their struggles were greater, their perspectives more divergent than some of my other students. I tried to provide a safe space for them, to model respect, but in retrospect I don’t think I supported them as well as I could have, or reached out as much as they might have needed. I was too busy preparing lessons on Shakespeare or adjectives, and not focusing enough on my students’ emotional health. Adjectives were a lot easier for me to reconcile than feelings. Would they have felt comfortable coming out earlier than college or high school if they had found more support in middle school? Would they have wanted to? I don’t know. But I don’t think they felt it was a safe option, which leaves me thinking that I did not do enough for them at that critical middle school time. I do not want any kid to feel alone, invisible, misunderstood. Nico di Angelo is for Amy, and Mark and Nicholas.

I am trying to do more. Percy Jackson started as a way to empower kids, in particular my son, who had learning differences. As my platform grew, I felt obliged to use it to empower all kids who are struggling through middle school for whatever reason. I don’t always do enough. I don’t always get it right. Good intentions are wonderful things, but at the end of a manuscript, the text has to stand on its own. What I meant ceases to matter. Kids just see what I wrote. But I have to keep trying. My kids are counting on me.

So thank you, above all, to my former students who taught me. Alex Fierro is for you.

To you, I pledge myself to do better – to apologize when I screw up, to learn from my mistakes, to be there for LGBTQ youth and make sure they know that in my books, they are included. They matter. I am going to stop talking now, but I promise you I won’t stop listening.”

Please talk about the mummy returns

pristinepastel said: Hey, i know you like the first mummy, but what about the mummy returns?

I HAVE RETURNED…after like a day.

but what the people want, the people get!

RIGHT SO THE MUMMY RETURNS!

aka the only sequel that is 1000% just as good as the first one. like holy shit.

ten years later and we meet our heroes again. rick and evie are happily married, going on adventures, and evie’s dream of becoming a respected scholar has come true and they’ve made a tiny human!

the only unrealistic part being that they only had one kid, i mean they are still all over each other ten years later and you’re telling me they only had ONE kid.

okay. sure jan.

but boy o’ boy is that one kid awesome!

alex o’connell. this kid is literally:

  • 50% evie super-klutz-genius.
  • 50% rick screams-at-things-that-are-illogical-to-scream-at.
  • 50% uncle jonathan’s sheer dumb luck and wit.
  • 10% i’m really bad at math.

you get the point. HE’S GREAT. also the actor passed on harry potter because, JUST LIKE ME, the mummy 1999 was his favorite movie and he just HAD to be in the sequel. alex is just such a smart-ass little shit. that much like his mother, accidentally brings about the apocalypse by opening something he shouldn’t have:

GOD BLESS. (because he was supposed to die in the first one, but test audiences loved him as much as we do, so they kept his fine ass around) he still looks prettier than everyone and is still so done with white people once again.

*after almost being killed on he bus* “this was my first bus ride.”
*after realizing they’re gonna make him fly again* “why can’t you people ever keep your feet on the ground?”

he’s just such an awesome A+ friend goals, because while he probably needs to go be with other medjai to prepare for battle against anubis’ army (yikes), he stays with the fam to rescue alex. it wasn’t even much of a thought for him really, rick and evie just batted their eyelashes and he was like: *sighs* “these white people are always messing my shit up, but they are my white people.”

We talk a lot about Yuuri having to reconcile his idea of Viktor with the real Viktor–that is, Yuuri has this flawless, wonderful ideal of Viktor in his head which has to sort of be cut down to fit the person that Viktor really is. Which is a healthy part of their relationship, and which I completely agree is something Yuuri has to face at some point during that first summer.

But I think there’s also something to be said about Yuuri realizing that some of the horrible things he’s heard about Viktor through the skating community grapevine are not so true.

Yuuri, despite what he says, is much closer to is idol than most people ever get. If Viktor is a movie star, Yuuri is the secondary character–he’s there, and a lot of people definitely know he’s there, and he knows enough people who also know Viktor for the gossip mill to really get churnin sometimes.

I also think that at the back of every person who has ever had a celebrity crush’s mind is a little voice saying, “Never meet your heroes,” and Yuuri Katsuki is terrified of that little voice, and it contributes to the distance he keeps from Viktor–because at some point, that much distance from someone you’re facing off against in international competitions has got to be just a little bit purposeful.

So cue Viktor coming into his life all of a sudden one day, and all Yuuri can think about are the terrible awful no good very bad things people have told him about Viktor and the kind of person Viktor is.

“Fuck Viktor Nikiforov,” an older skater had told him after Skate America, six glasses into a box of wine and bitter as hell about missing the podium. “No, really, fuck him. The Russians are paying off the ISU to keep him at the top. He isn’t even that talented. I hear–I hear he doesn’t even train. I hear he just shows up and fucking does whatever and they give him gold because he’s Viktor Nikiforov.”

“I…don’t think…” Yuuri frowned at his own glass of wine. “I mean…that couldn’t be true.” He glances at Phichit next to him. “Could it?”

“Sour grapes,” Phichit advises, and Yuuri isn’t as familiar with English idioms at that point, so he thinks Phichit is talking about the wine.

Yuuri mostly forgets about it, but somewhere in the back of his mind–he can’t stop thinking about it. He watches and rewatches Viktor’s old programs and wonders to himself if the reason he thinks they’re so good is because he’s watching them through rose-tinted glasses.

Yuuri and Phichit are suffering through finals and trying to survive through twenty-hour days of nothing but studying and skating. They lay themselves on the bleachers one afternoon while they’re supposed to be doing warm ups.

“What if I just quit school and became and underwater basket weaver,” Yuuri mumbles directly into the metal seat of the bleacher. “That would be fine, right?”

“WWVND,” Phichit replies. “What Would Viktor Nikiforov Do.”

“You’re right,” Yuuri sighs.

“Viktor Nikiforov is dumber than a box of rocks,” says of the other members of the club as she skates by. “You know he never even finished high school? I mean, what counts as high school in a country like Russia. The guy probably thinks two plus two equals borscht.”

“That’s not…” Yuuri smushes his nose against the bleacher. “Hey, that’s not…”

“FUCK OFF OLIVIA,” Phichit shrieks across the rink, and Celestino definitely hears. They have to do twenty minutes of line drills.

“What Would Viktor Nikiforov Do, right boys?” asks Olivia as she watches Yuuri try not to heave after Celestino finally releases them from their Sisyphean torture.

“I’m gonna fucking kill her,” Phichit says, and he sounds so deeply serious that Yuuri is sincerely worried.

Several weeks later, someone mentions Viktor within earshot of Phichit and he jokingly says, “Watch what you say, that’s Yuuri’s future husband you’re talking about,” and it sort of makes Yuuri want to hit him but mostly makes Yuuri blush.

“Really?” replies that someone. “I don’t know about that, Yuuri. I wouldn’t touch that guy with a thirty foot pole. He sleeps around. Probably has all kinds of nasty stuff going on down there.”

“Oh, whatever,” Phichit says, rolling his eyes. “Like you would know.”

Yuuri ducks his head back into his book and tries not to think about it.

These are the things that Yuuri holds in the back of his mind about Viktor, the worries that travel with him anywhere he has even the chance of encountering Viktor Nikiforov.

‘Never meet your heroes’ becomes something of the unspoken mantra of Yuuri’s life.

Then Viktor Nikiforov catapults himself straight into Yuuri’s lap, and Yuuri learns a few things.

Viktor trains. Viktor trains hard. Viktor has neglected everything but training and skating and satisfying his own frantic need to be the best for twenty years. Viktor Nikiforov is a lonely, sad bookworm with one friend and a gaping, yearning need to be touched–and he did not get to be where he is without making sacrifices.

Yuuri has never met anyone who made more sacrifices for this sport and this art than Viktor Nikiforov. It opens something up inside of him, throbbing and raw. It makes Yuuri want to take Viktor’s heart and shove it inside his own chest so that it never feels cold or lonely again. It makes him want to stand on the top of a tall building somewhere and scream fuck you to every person he’s encountered whose jealousy tried to convince him that this man was less than what he is.

And yes, Yuuri knows now that Viktor is forgetful and brutally honest and often doesn’t say the right thing at the right time.

He knows that Viktor is only ambidextrous in that he can use a fork with both hands and that it takes him twenty minutes in the morning to decide on a shirt to wear. He knows that Viktor Nikiforov is a blanket hog and that if Yuuri wants to wake up still covered in the morning, they have to have no less than three blankets on the bed at all times.

He knows that Viktor sometimes descends into these loops of manic energy where he wants to do everything and can’t sit still and in those moments, Yuuri wants to lock him in a room and leave him there until he starts making sense again.

He also knows that Viktor Nikiforov has the most genuinely beautiful soul that Yuuri has ever had the opportunity to touch. He knows that very few people in his life will ever love him like Viktor, and that he himself has never felt for anyone quite what he feels for this man. His man.

He knows these things and he thinks that maybe Viktor is perfect after all, perfect in his imperfection. Every jagged edge of his fits into one of Yuuri’s, and every curve of Yuuri’s lovingly presses flush with Viktor’s until they fit together seamlessly, like a pair of puzzle pieces.

Yuuri is also still a very petty person on the inside, though–which is why he makes posts on Instagram that read things like Viktor received his sixth well-deserved Russian National gold today! Congratulations to my amazing fiance.

And also:

So proud of my husband for all of his hard work commentating at the #Olympics. Some people go to school for half their lives and aren’t half as articulate as my Vitya. #Proudhubby

After that last one, Phichit leaves a voicemail on Yuuri’s phone that is literally just two whole minutes of him laughing hysterically and then wheezing, “THE SALT!” before hanging up.

“Yuuri, why did Phichit just sent me…sixteen crying laughing emojis and a text that says ‘your husband I can’t,’ in all caps?”

“Because a lot of people tried telling me you weren’t perfect and I’m proving them wrong,” Yuuri replies, not even looking up from his phone.

“Oh,” Viktor says, and literally crawls on top of him.

Yuuri supposes that the moral of the story is that the heart wants what the heart wants, and you have to find perfection in the imperfections–Viktor is loud and ditzy and forgets the English word for tomato on an almost daily basis, but he’s Yuuri’s husband. And because he’s Yuuri’s husband, he’s perfect.

Hi guys! Here’s a little masterpost of quotes from children’s books that you can use in your bullet journal, or anywhere else you feel like!

THE LITTLE PRINCE (ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPÉRY)

  • “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
  • “The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.”
  • “You become responsible forever for what you’ve tamed.”
  • “You - you alone will have the stars as no one else has them…In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night…You - only you - will have stars that can laugh.”
  • “Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them”
  • “A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.”

A LITTLE PRINCESS (FRANCES HODGSON BURNETT)

  • “If I am a princess in rags and tatters, I can be a princess inside. It would be easy to be a princess if I were dressed in cloth of gold, but it is a great deal more of a triumph to be one all the time when no one knows it.”
  • “When you will not fly into a passion people know you are stronger than they are, because you are strong enough to hold in your rage, and they are not, and they say stupid things they wish they hadn’t said afterward. “
  • “There’s nothing so strong as rage, except what makes you hold it in–that’s stronger. It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies.”
  • “If nature has made you for a giver, your hands are born open, and so is your heart; and though there may be times when your hands are empty, your heart is always full, and you can give things out of that–warm things, kind things, sweet things–help and comfort and laughter–and sometimes gay, kind laughter is the best help of all.”
  • “Somehow, something always happens just before things get to the very worst. It is as if Magic did it. If I could only just remember that always. The worse thing never quite comes.”
  • “But I suppose there might be good in things, even if we don’t see it.”
  • “You don’t forget, but you bear it better.”

LITTLE WOMEN (LOUISA MAY ALCOTT)

  • “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.”
  • “It’s wicked to throw away so many good gifts because you can’t have the one you want.”
  • “Love is a great beautifier.”
  • “Watch and pray, dear, never get tired of trying, and never think it is impossible to conquer your fault.”
  • “I want to do something splendid…something heroic or wonderful that won’t be forgotten after I’m dead. I don’t know what, but I’m on the watch for it and mean to astonish you all someday.”
  • “Conceit spoils the finest genius.”
  • “Be comforted, dear soul! There is always light behind the clouds.”
  • “Life and love are very precious when both are in full bloom.”
  • “The only chivalry worth having is that which is the readiest to to pay deference to the old, protect the feeble, and serve womankind, regardless of rank, age, or color.”
  • “Books are always good company if you have the right sort.”
  • “The humblest tasks get beautified if loving hands do them.”
  • “Now and then, in this workaday world, things do happen in the delightful storybook fashion, and what a comfort that is.”

MATLIDA (ROALD DAHL)

  • “So Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: You are not alone.”
  • “Never do anything by halves if you want to get away with it. Be outrageous. Go the whole hog. Make sure everything you do is so completely crazy it’s unbelievable…”
  • “I have found it impossible to talk to anyone about my problems. I couldn’t face the embarrassment, and anyway I lack the courage. Any courage I had was knocked out of me when I was young. But now, all of sudden I have a sort of desperate wish to tell everything to somebody.”
  • “I’ve always said to myself that if a little pocket calculator can do it why shouldn’t I?”
  • “There is little point in teaching anything backwards. The whole object of life, Headmistress, is to go forwards.”
  • “I’m afraid men are not always quite as clever as they think they are.”

THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH (NORTON JUSTER)

  • “So many things are possible just as long as you don’t know they’re impossible.”
  • “Have you ever heard the wonderful silence just before the dawn? Or the quiet and calm just as a storm ends? Or perhaps you know the silence when you haven’t the answer to a question you’ve been asked, or the hush of a country road at night, or the expectant pause of a room full of people when someone is just about to speak, or, most beautiful of all, the moment after the door closes and you’re alone in the whole house? Each one is different, you know, and all very beautiful if you listen carefully.”
  • “Time is a gift, given to you, given to give you the time you need, the time you need to have the time of your life. ”
  • “You must never feel badly about making mistakes … as long as you take the trouble to learn from them. For you often learn more by being wrong for the right reasons than you do by being right for the wrong reasons.”
  • “The most important reason for going from one place to another is to see what’s in between.”
  • “What you can do is often simply a matter of what you will do.”
  • “What you learn today, for no reason at all, will help you discover all the wonderful secrets of tomorrow.”
  • “Whatever we learn has a purpose and whatever we do affects everything and everyone else, if even in the tiniest way.”

THE GOLDEN COMPASS (PHILIP PULLMAN)

  • “You cannot change what you are, only what you do.”
  • “We are all subject to the fates. But we must act as if we are not, or die of despair.”
  • “Every opportunity will come again.”

If you wanna write a ficlet based on the tags you put about Derek not being good at receiving compliments so stiles compliments him always I can guarantee you that I will 100% read it and reblog it and comment about how much I love it :D

Well how can I resist that??

The first time it happened, Stiles didn’t think anything of it. Standing over the smoldering remains of the creature that just tried to kill them, he said “nice job”, gave Derek a friendly slap on the back, and suggested they go out for celebratory we didn’t die today milkshakes. He was pleasantly surprised when Derek both agreed and paid, and he dipped fries in both to see if they went better with his strawberry or Derek’s chocolate.

(The answer was chocolate, and Derek didn’t even get mad when three of Stiles’ fries were lost in his shake.)

The second time, he was marveling at the obscure text Derek managed to track down and said, “dude, you are literally the best, I’m buying you pizza!” And shockingly, Derek let him, and even told him what toppings he wanted. That might not seem like much in the grand scheme of things, but Stiles had spent years watching in silent judgment as Derek picked off half the toppings from the pizzas he ordered for the pack, as if he couldn’t get another for himself that he actually liked.

Stiles told him he liked the way he rearranged the loft, and Derek sat through the entire extended edition of The Fellowship of the Ring on his new flat screen.

When he mentioned liking the fancy pasta dish Derek made and asked for a lesson to make it, Derek agreed. He showered compliments on Derek’s meticulous overhaul of the bestiary and Derek let him borrow three books.

Derek never let anyone borrow his books, they never left the loft.

These events were all spread out enough that it took a while to click, but when it did, it was both a revelation and incredibly depressing: Derek had no idea what to do with even the most casual of compliments.

Sarcasm was no issue, Stiles knew that much—he’d personally thrown out enough nice martyr complex, jackass and the like to figure that out—but anything that was even remotely sincere?

He started paying attention after that, to the way Derek would stiffen and his eyes would widen a bit before his face closed off again. He would go quiet, maybe nod, and quickly agree to pretty much anything just to get the focus back off himself.

Because Derek was actually embarrassed by compliments.

A little AU meet-cute based on @billypoindexter‘s prompt (someone else may have already done it, but I haven’t written any zimbits in forever):

So I was watching Say Yes to the Dress yesterday and Corbin Bleu and his fiancé (now wife) Sasha Clements were on it and when they asked how they met Sasha said they met in a grocery store and she kind of recognized him, and figured he was an acquaintance whose name she had forgotten. So she goes “Hey!! How are you?” and they chat for a bit before she realizes that she knows him because he’s famous.

Bitty was rounding the end of the cereal aisle, rechecking the grocery list to see if he’d gotten everything and wondering what was wrong with the state of public education in New England that none of his roommates had apparently learned basic penmanship, when he ran into someone.

“Oh my god, I am so sorry!” he exclaimed, and suppressed the wince as his accent reflexively came out full force. (It was partly the apologizing, and partly that he’d learned people were more forgiving if they thought he wasn’t from ’round here. He’d decided to embrace it; if he couldn’t get rid of the accent, it might as well be good for something.)

“No, no problem,” said the person, and then Bitty actually looked at him and felt that familiar terror of countless small-town grocery runs with his mother, where they ran into someone that he knew he was supposed to know, but could not place for the life of him, let alone remember an actual name.

“Well, hey!” he exclaimed, racking his brain frantically for the reason this guy looked so familiar. Surely he’d remember someone who looked like that. Lord. There was nothing, though, so he let autopilot take over. “How have you been?”

Tall, Dark, and Handsome blinked at him. (How could Bitty have forgotten eyes that blue? What even was wrong with him today? This was ridiculous.) “Uh, okay, actually. Yup. Everything going well.”

“Well, that’s great!” Bitty glanced at his list again. “Hey, can you read this? I genuinely can’t tell if this is supposed to be English.”

The guy obligingly took the paper from him and squinted at it. “Provolone, I think.”

Bitty took the list back and stared at it for a second. “I think you’re right. Honestly, Holster.”

“I was just heading toward the deli myself.”

“How perfect! I really kind of hate shopping by myself? But this was just supposed to be a quick in and out, or at least it was until I realized I apparently live with chickens in human guise who never learned to write properly.”

By the time Bitty and The Guy checked out and parted ways half an hour later, Bitty still hadn’t recalled his name, and by then it was clearly too late to admit it.

Oh well, he’d probably remember later, when he was trying to fall asleep.

~*~*~*~

“You know,” he called pointedly from the kitchen, “y’all could make yourselves useful and help me put all these things away.”

“Yes! Bro! Did you see that pass?” Holster yelled instead.

“Beauty,” Ransom answered, and then there was the sound of a high-five.

Bitty sighed and stuck his head around the corner to see what they were yelling about now.

SportsCenter, as usual, was on, playing highlights from the Falconers’ game the night before. As Bitty watched, it switched from the on-ice play to an intermission interview.

An intermission interview. With the guy from the grocery store.

Jack Zimmermann.

“Oh my god,” Bitty said for the second time that day, hands to his cheeks, which were indeed burning up.

Holster looked over at him in concern. “Bits? What’s wrong? Why do you look like a tomato?”

“I just spent half an hour casually grocery shopping with Jack fucking Zimmermann because I thought he looked familiar and I didn’t want to admit I couldn’t place him. Oh my god, I could just die.”

Ransom and Holster exchanged glances and then they were on him. “No shit! What’s he like? What did he buy? Tell us everything!”

“I can never shop there again,” Bitty said faintly.

MORNING AFTER WITH BTS || Friends version

waking up next to your best friend after a drunk one night stand can’t be good… right?

Seokjin:

★you and jin had shared a bed many times

★so waking up next to you wasn’t something that bothered him

★he was used to waking up with a dead arm because you were laid on it

★what did bother him was that the two of you were naked

★he’d scrunch up his face trying to piece the small bits of memory he had together

★the panic would rise slightly as he tried to remember if he was protected

★that would soon be quashed when he saw the foil wrapper on the bedside drawers

★he’d then begin to panic over what would happen when you woke up

★would you leave and never talk to him again?

★over something the two of you couldn’t even remember?

★he decided to just treat it like any other time you two wake up together

★he carefully moved you from his arm and onto a pillow

★pulled on a pair of pyjamas

★and went to cook breakfast for the two of you

★when you finally woke and went to find him in the kitchen he’d offer you a small smile

★’you’re making omelette?’

★’it’s your favourite’

★’no egg pun with that?’

★’my egg puns aren’t craking today’

★’oh thank god. i thought you were going to be off with me’

★’why would i do that?’

★’you might see me different after last night’

★’i do see you different’

★’oh’

★’i see you as a god/goddess. now sit down and have your breakfast’

★the two of you ate while talking about the last thing you remember from last night

★'it isn’t as bad as they make it look in movies. we haven’t screamed at eachother, nor do we regret it’

★’you don’t regret it?’

★’i got to sleep with the most handsome man in the world, what’s to regret?’

★’you’re such an idiot’

Yoongi:

★more like afternoon after

★you woke before him

★and decided it would be best to let the poor guy try get as much sleep as possible

★when you move to get off the bed to dress and leave, he’ll groan as his sleep was disturbed

★he’d watch you pull on your clothes then clear his throat

★’so that’s it? you’re not even going to tell me how i was?’

★’how do you not know how you were?’

★’i was drunk’

★’so was i’

★’well we’re just gonna have to do it again’

★when you threw a piece of clothing at him he’d laugh and sit up

★’you want to go get breakfast?’

★’it’s two in the afternoon’

★’we’re breaking the fast, Y/N. therefore it’s breakfast’

★’here’s me thinking i would have breakfast made for me’

★’i’m just as disgusted about last night i deserve compensation in the form of food also’

★when you frowned at his words, he’ll reach to pull you back onto the bed

★’it’s called a joke, love’

★he’d wrap the covers around you along with his arms

★he’d nuzzle his face into you

★and his hands would come to rest on your stomach under your shirt

★’i was serious about the doing it again thing. i’d like to do it again many times’

★’is that your way of asking me to be your friend with benefits?”

★’no, that was my way of asking if you’d be my girlfriend/boyfriend’

★’will i get breakfast in bed?’

★’no’

★’then it’s a no from me’

★’you little shit’

★you’d both stay laid in bed until your stomach growled

★he’d order food from his phone

★’i could cook’

★’it would require you getting out of bed’

★’we can’t stay in bed forever’

★’not with that attitude you can’t’

★he really loves to play with your hands???

★he’ll trace shapes, lyrics, his shopping list

★when it’s time for you to leave, he’ll kinda just stretch out on the bed

★and pout

★’take me up on my offer of going out with me’

★’why should i?’

★’because i never want to wake up without you again’

Hoseok:

★softest gentleman to ever live

★when he got out of bed, he’d wrap the covers over you so none of you was exposed

★he’d go and start breakfast and make you both coffee

★when he returned to the room to see you waking up he’d turn to mush

★’breakfast is cooking. do you want to join me for a quick shower?’

★’that would be lovely’

★’i’ve only got shower gel for me, so you’ll have to smell like me for a while’

★he’d help you out of bed and walk you to the bathroom

★when under the water, he’ll massage your shoulders and back

★’i could get used to this’

★he’d laugh and pull you back to him

★’do you want to get used to it?’

★he’d sway with you in his arms

★’we should go eat’

★helps you get dried

★let’s you wear something from his wardrobe

★gushes over it

★is a big ball of mush for you

★sits you on the sofa and spoon feeds you breakfast

Namjoon:

★he’d warm with joy when he wakes up to see your naked form curled into him

★though his smile would quickly fade when he saw the bruises that decorated your skin

★his fingers would run over one slowly

★you’d give a groan in response and he’d move away quickly

★’why did you stop?’

★you moved to look up at him

★a frown of your own on your face when you saw his expression

★’do you want me to leave?’

★’no! no, it’s just that I made a mess of you’

★you’d look down to your chest and giggle at the purple spots you now adorned

★’it’s not funny! you should’ve stopped me!’

★’why? it obviously felt good’

★’it looks painful’

★’i think it looks pretty. a souvenir, if you will’

★his mood would lift back up at your laughing

★he’d move to hover over you and kiss all over the marks

★he’d help you get dressed

★would try his best to brush you hair

★but ends up getting the brush stuck

★so he gives up and lets you take over

★this poor pup can’t cook for his life so out to mcdonalds you go

★he’d wrap his arm around you while you walked

everything happens for a reason, you know’

★‘yeah, it was always destined for you to take me to mcdonalds for lunch’

Jimin:

★jimin took good care of you as your friend

★but after you’d been intimate hot damn be prepared to be treated like royalty

★you’d wake up on your own

★but a few seconds after you’d see him walk through the door with a tray in his hands

★’you’re not leaving until I’ve fed you’

★’who said i was planning on leaving?”

★you’d both giggle alot

★after eating breakfast together in bed, you’d flop next to him and sigh

★’tell me how much you liked it~’

★’it was alright’

★’alright? alright wouldn’t have made you moan like that’

★’how do you remember that?’

★’you don’t forget the most beautiful thing you’ve ever heard’

★’shut up’

★he’d lay over you to stop you from getting up

★’are we still friends?’

★'you wanna be friends after i had you a quivering mess beneath me? i don’t think so. we’re walking away at least friends with benefits. but me being your boyfriend would be ideal’

★soft bub would turn red when you agreed to the whole dating thing

★he’d move to pin your arms on the bed and straddle your stomach

★’tell me you love me’

★’i don’t’

★’then why’d you say yes?’

★’you got a nice butt’

★would attack you with kisses

Taehyung:

★if you think you could sneak out of bed think again

★he’d have his limbs wrapped around you so tight while you slept

★so when you woke up, you’d try to shimmy out of his grip

★but gave up shortly after

★so you just laid and waiting for him to wake up

★and when he did you’d be smothered in kisses

★he’d be so happy that you’re still here

★’you didn’t leave?”

★’how could i leave when you’ve got me in a death grip?’

★’oh, sorry’

★he’d free you from the cage his limbs made

★so you can finally stretch

★upon stretching you finally feel the numbness in your lower half

★b/c my boy goes h a r d

★when he hears you wince, he frowns and pulls you close to him

★probably says ‘sorry’ 2343223 times

★will run a bath for you to ease some of the throbbing

★but ends up joining you

★hums while washing your hair

★when you’re dried and dressed he’ll cook for you

★and by cook i mean make toast for you

★he’d sit opposite you, watching you eat

★’is there something on my face?’

★’you’re glowing’

★he’d giggle as your cheeks turned red

★’you look very pretty in the morning’

★’you’re very greasy in the morning’

★he wouldn’t let you out of his sight

★for some reason he thinks you’re ten times more fragile after sex

if another member comes near you he’ll wrap you close to him

Jungkook:

★one huge misunderstanding

★you’d had to leave for whatever reason

★so when he woke up to find your side empty he frown

★and kinda just lay there

★trying to remember as much from last night as possible

★he thought you regretted it because you left

★so he wouldn’t text you

★he didn’t want to feel uncomfortable

★and you thought he didn’t text you beause he was ashamed

★the two of you would just mope around

★the other members would be upset by the shift of mood

★they’d plan to lock you in a room until you sorted things out and things could go back to normal

★’so’

★’so’

★’you alright?’

★’missed you a bit, but i’m good’

★’you missed me?’

★’yeah, not having you to talk to is awful’

★’i thought you were ashamed’

★’and i thought you were embarrased’

★’we didn’t speak for two weeks because of a misunderstanding?’

★’well when we’re done here you’re coming to the dorms and staying until further notice. I have two weeks to catch up on’

#couch #laughter #snitch

Prompts: @hedwig4evr (lucky number one! <3)
Author: @queenofthyme

Draco walked into the eighth year common room with his head downcast as always. He spoke to no-one. No-one spoke to him.

He was making a beeline for his favourite armchair right by the fire - it was always empty, everyone knew it was his - when he heard it. Laughter.

He knew exactly whose laughter and exactly where from. There was no need to look up. But as always, he did.

Harry Potter and his friends, Weasley and Granger, were in their usual spots on the widest, comfiest couch in the room, tucked into a corner by the dormitory stairs. They were all laughing, Potter the loudest of all, while taking turns to grab at the golden snitch zooming above their heads.

Potter had beaten Draco in the Gryffindor vs Slytherin Quidditch match in the morning. Again. Draco had been training constantly - it’s not like he had much else to do, or anyone else to hang out with - and yet he had still been defeated. It was disheartening. He wondered whether he should just give up on Quidditch. Maybe on Hogwarts too. It’s not like anyone wanted him here.

He was still staring when Potter looked up, his eyes falling on Draco’s. Draco quickly turned his head - making it more obvious he’d been staring - and continued on towards his chair. It was no couch, but it would do.

“Malfoy!” Potter’s voice called out behind him.

Draco hesitated before turning back. He didn’t want to look too eager. Potter probably just wanted to gloat about the match.

But when he finally did turn to Potter, the git was already laughing again with his friends again, paying no mind to Draco.

Draco stomped over, feeling very much like a dog called by his owner. He didn’t like it. He crossed his arms and stared down at the three Gryffindors.

Potter stood up, the snitch following his movements. He held out a hand. Draco stared at it.

“Good game, ” Potter said.

Weasley and Granger had stopped laughing. Everything was silent. Draco kept staring at Potter’s hand. It was shaking a little.

Just when Potter looked like he was about to drop his hand, Draco shot out his own and caught it in a firm shake. Potter’s hand was clammy.

Potter smiled, as broad as his face. “You flew brilliantly today. It made me nervous.”

“You always fly well,” Malfoy said in return. It came out sounding forced but he meant it.

“Thanks.” Potter, unlike Draco, had no problem sounding genuine.

They stood there silently for no longer than a beat but it seemed a very slow, awkward one. Draco nodded politely and moved to walk away.

“Wait,” Potter called out, louder than required.

Draco paused. “Yes?”

Another silence. Draco supposed the laughter would start up again as soon he left. His presence seemed to bring everything down.

As there didn’t seem to any further words coming out of Potter’s mouth, Draco was left to stand there awkwardly. His eyes were drawn to the golden snitch fluttering by Potter’s ear. It was hardly moving now. He could easily reach out and take it.

So he did. Or at least he tried. The snitch seemed to know he was coming and zoomed to the side at the last millisecond. Draco tried again, the snitch few away. Frustrated, he reached out with both hands, but only continue to grasp air.

He heard Weasley snigger. His face reddened. He looked like an idiot now. His only saving grace was to actually catch the damn snitch. So he tried again. Nothing.

Granger was soon laughing too and Draco grew angry. He didn’t like being made the fool. Especially not by the perfect golden trio.

One last time, he told himself. But once again, his hands closed over nothing, the wings of the snitch just grazing his fingers, always out of reach.

That’s when the sound hit him: Potter’s laughter. Except this time he was right here with him and not only that, Draco was causing it. And it didn’t sound cruel, or mocking. It didn’t sound like Potter was laughing at him at all. No, it was bubbly and bright and basically what Draco imagined sunshine to sound like.

Draco dropped his gaze to take in Potter’s face. It really was a sight when he laughed - full and joyful and pure. Draco never wanted to look away.

His anger had faded, almost as soon as Potter had started laughing, but now Draco’s face was red for another reason entirely. He needed to stop looking at Potter immediately. But he couldn’t.

When Potter stopped laughing, he seemed to finally find his words from earlier. “You should sit with us.”

Draco blinked. Sit at Potter’s couch? With Granger and Weasley? Surely that’s not what he meant.

Weasley seemed to have the same though because he blurted out, “What?”

Granger shushed him.

Draco just stared at Potter. He had no idea how to respond to such a suggestion. He wanted to ask why but the words never came out. Potter seemed to understand regardless.

He leaned in to Draco, close enough that Draco could smell his shampoo, and whispered: “I think you need a laugh.”

Draco agreed.

It was a surprise people actually liked her more than you.

Maybe it was because she was prettier, You pondered sometimes. Maybe it was because she actually talked to everyone, and didn’t just sit alone during lunch. Insecurity was probably the bane of your existence when you were around Jenna, especially since she teased you.

The Photograph

Hi babes! This is a fluffy oneshot about Peter having a crush on one of Michelle’s friends at Midtown High. One day, he spots her reading outside and secretly takes a photo of her because he thinks that she looks too perfect to go unseen, and he pins the photo up in the back of his locker. Everything is fine until Flash Thompson gets his hands on Peter’s photo and brings it to her attention. After that, awkward cuteness ensues and I hope that you all like it!

The Photograph

Hot licks of pain seared throughout Peter’s body. His lip was split, there was a purpling bruise on his temple that was accompanied by a headache so powerful that it’s aching refused to be ignored. Even walking from class to class was taking a toll on Peter. He was exhausted and in pain, but Peter remained hellbent on keeping Queens safe, no matter the cost.

Peter’s eyes glazed over and his body was ready to shut down. Doing his best to keep himself up on his feet, he focused on the photo that he had tacked up of her in the back of his locker.

In the photo, the girl was outside, hidden beneath the shade of a rather large tree. She was stretched out on a light pink blanket, a copy of Charles Baudelaire’s, ‘The Flowers of Evil,’ open in front of her. There was a carton of fresh strawberries and a rather oversized iced coffee balanced haphazardly against her backpack on the ground with her, and every so often, Peter recalled how delightedly blissful she looked each time she bit into a ripe berry. The sun’s rays, the soft breeze wandering through the tree’s leaves, and the chatter bumbling down to her from their shared high school didn’t even faze the girl. Her mind remained with the poet’s.

After a few minutes of watching her, Peter felt soothed. Everything about her made him feel better. He loved the way she licked her lips after she ate, he loved the way that she read her favorite verses aloud, he loved the way that she laughed at herself when she nearly spilled her coffee, and he loved the way that she helped him forget about the constant stress that was now heavily present in his life.

When Peter finally snapped the photo, she was laying on her side, one hand wound into her silky hair to keep it out of her eyes, and the other hand holding her poetry book open. Her eyes were focused on comprehending the poems on each page, but she wore a soft smile on her lips that made it clear that she wasn’t scrutinizing anything too intensely. The girl was merely enjoying her free period in the sun and Peter longed to do the same.

Since then, Peter looked for her in almost every hallway, in every classroom window, and everyday at lunch. They’d spoken a handful of times, seeing as they were in the same history class, but other than class discussions, Peter hadn’t mustered up the nerve to say hello outside of an intellectual, in-class debate.

One day, she was late to history and when she’d walked into the room, she found that her normal seat next to the window had been taken, so she headed towards the first empty desk she saw. Peter, already occupying one of the seats, nearly suffered a heart attack when she placed her binder next to his and offered him a quiet “good morning.”

It had taken Peter a few seconds to force his brain to form a response to her and then to get his mouth to open and say the words that his brain was attempting to communicate back to her. When he stuttered out, “hey, yeah, good morning,” she didn’t tease him for his weirdness, instead she smiled at him and Peter could’ve melted onto the floor right then and there.

During that day’s lecture, their teacher was detailing women’s struggles throughout the years to gain the 19th amendment, which won women of all colors, and social standings the right to vote. She scribbled down notes and nodded in agreement with the teacher as she spoke of Ida B. Well’s, Lucy Burns’ and Alice Paul’s courageous actions in the suffrage movement. It was only after Flash Thompson opened his mouth that Peter observed a frown cross over her features.

“Why didn’t they just keep doing what Florence Kelley advised? If they had followed her directions, they wouldn’t have gotten radical and thrown into prison. Florence Kelley was meeting with President Woodrow Wilson, and he explained to her why he couldn’t grant women suffrage right then, but he said he would going forward. The National Women’s Party didn’t know what they were doing, and furthermore, they set the women’s rights movement back with their crazy antics.” Flash finished, folding his hands behind his head and leaning back in his chair.

Glancing over at the girl in the chair next to him, Peter knew that not only was Flash painfully incorrect and uneducated, but she was clearly getting ready to put Flash back into his place.

“Wow, that’s actually so, so, so wrong.” She started, turning slightly in her chair to face Flash, “if Florence Kelley had kept asking President Wilson to recognize women as intelligent, reasonable beings capable of making a decisive decision, it’s unlikely that the 19th amendment would’ve been passed in 1920. The only reason women were granted suffrage is because of The National Woman’s Party. These women marched, were beaten in the streets, picketed in front of the White House, and were thrown into jail for the good of women everywhere. President Wilson only granted women the right to suffrage after women were dying in prison due to the hunger strike Alice Paul began. Not to mention, while these women were imprisoned, they were denied basic human rights and the entire reason they were in locked away in jail was because they were blocking traffic on the sidewalk. It took drastic measures to humanize women in men’s eyes and without the heroic antics of these women, who knows where women would stand today. I mean, a woman’s right to her own body is something that could be taken away at any moment, and women are constantly battling the image that men have imposed upon us. Therefore, your opinion is invalid because you apparently cannot grasp the severity of the situation, past and present.”

Peter, as well as the rest of the class, was stunned into silence. Normally, she didn’t partake in class discussions because she was shy, but now that she had, everyone in the room was shocked by the intellect that she had just destroyed Flash with. Peter wanted nothing more than to hear her speak all day, and maybe to introduce her to Aunt May.

Peter could barely focus as Michelle began to back her up. Leaning closer to the wonderfully insightful girl next to him, Peter let her know just how clever he found her. “That was amazing, everything you said was perfect and spot-on. That was the greatest thing that I’ve ever seen and I can’t wait for you do it again.” Peter congratulated the girl.

“You don’t think it was too much?” She asked worriedly, biting her lip and fiddling with the pencil in her hands.

Peter shook his head, his eyes wide, “No, no! Absolutely not! You would’ve made Alice Paul very proud.”

Placing a hand atop of his, she thanked him with a smile. “You’re the best, Peter,” she said before turning her focus back to their teacher.

After that, she had joined Peter on Flash’s hit-list, so Peter should’ve known better than to try and relax with his locker wide open. Peter was knocked out of his daydream of going home to her and simply curling up around her to sleep by Flash’s grabby hand, first shoving him out of the way, and then stealing his photo of her.

As Flash rushed down the hall, Peter struggled after him, both boys trying to beat each other to where she stood deep in conversation with Michelle about the numerous male authors whose most famous novels were stolen works from their wives.

“Flash, don’t” Peter shouted, as he tried to ignore the shooting pain traveling up his body.

“Too late, Penis Parker,” Flash called as he weaved gracefully inbetween students to get to their target.

“Oh my gosh,” Michelle muttered, rolling her eyes as she nodded her head towards the two boys heading their way. “Losers.”

“His lip is bleeding,” She said, concern lacing into her tone. “Do you think he’s okay?”

“Your boyfriend is fine, probably tripped over a lego or something on his way to the bathroom and banged his head into the wall on his way down.” Michelle tried to reason with her friend. She’d detected that her friend and Peter had the biggest of crushes on one another way before either one of them had, and she had made it her mission to mock them every chance she got.

Flash was the first to reach the two girls, holding up the photo of her that Peter had taken of her reading outside. “Parker, Penis.” He wheezed, “Penis Parker took this picture of you and had it taped up behind his textbooks in his locker.” Bending over to soothe the splint in his side, Flash handed the photo to the confused girl in front of him.

As Peter came to a stop in front of her and Michelle, he groaned and threw his hands up into the air, uttering a barely audible, “fuck.”

When the girls saw Peter up close, they found that Peter was barely recognizable due to all of the bruises masking his pale skin. Quickly handing the photo to Michelle, the girl surged forward, lightly grabbing onto Peter’s sweater to steady him. “Peter, what happened to you? You’re hurt,” she questioned, growing a little more distraught as she studied him face to face.

“The picture, I’m sorry, I know it’s so creepy. I didn’t mean to be a weirdo and I’m sorry if it made you uncomfortable, I swear that I’m not stalking you.” Peter mumbled, trying unsuccessfully to keep his lip from bleeding.

“Peter, I don’t care about the photo. What happened to you? Oh no, your lip is bleeding,” She rambled, steering Peter towards the bench nearest to them. “Sit,” she instructed, digging through her backpack for a tissue to dab Peter’s cut with.

“You’re seriously not going to say anything about the picture he clearly took of you?” Flash whined, refusing to accept defeat.

Michelle raised her eyebrows, “No, I think it’s disturbing too. You’re not alone in that, Flash.”

“Do you need ice?” She asked Peter, guiding Peter to look up so she could inspect his face for any further damage. “You need ice, Michelle, could you please go get him ice? Flash, could you please go away?” She asked, looking at the pair over her shoulder.

Flash was nearly beside himself, “it’s weird! You have to acknowledge that it’s weird that he not only took a photo of you without your knowledge, but that he has it pinned up like you are his girlfriend or something? Really not going to say anything about that?”

“For all you know,” she said, turning to face Flash as she did that day in class, “Peter could very well be my boyfriend!”

Peter’s jaw dropped so far that she had to readjust his head to keep the tissue on his open wound. Gently prying her helping hand from his lip, “wait, really?” Peter asked. “You’d be my girlfriend after all this?”

“This is disgusting,” Michelle interjected. Handing Peter’s photo back to him, she grabbed Flash by the collar of his polo shirt and dragged him down the hallway. “We’ll be back with ice and some band-aids.”

She and Peter could hear Flash’s discontented grumbles as he followed Michelle down to the nurse’s office to retrieve some medical aid for Peter.

“Are you really not freaked out?” Peter asked, staring up at her with big, brown, puppy-dog eyes.

Sighing, she moved to stand in between Peter’s legs to inspect how much further his lip had split. “If you keep talking, the cut is never going to heal. This,” she gestured to Peter’s clearly damaged frame, “freaks me out more than anything. What’s happening to you? If I can help you, please let me. I care about you and I hate that you’re hurt.” She pouted.

She was so close that Peter could smell all the floral notes in her perfume, and if he wanted to, he could hug himself close to her and never let go. “I can’t tell you what’s happening, but if I stop, things will get worse. Not just for me, but for everyone. I’m trying to help.”

Running a hand through his hair, she shook her head. “Then let me help you. If you’re helping everyone, you deserve to have someone help you, and I want you to let me be that person, Peter.”

Pinching the palm of his hand, Peter spotted Flash and Michelle returning with ice, ointment and bandages in hand, and he knew that he had to be quick. “It would really help me if you went out to dinner with me. Just being with you would help me. That’s why I took the picture of you. Every day that I felt like I was drowning, I would look at you, well the picture of you, and it would help me to breath again.”

“Pick me up on Saturday. I’ll be ready at 7:30,” she agreed, much to not only Peter’s, but Flash’s surprise.

“Come on!” Flash hissed, “how is it that Parker gets a date with a hot girl after he hides in the bushes and takes secret pictures of her? What the hell is going on right now? Do I live in the twilight zone?”

“For fucks sake, Flash.” Michelle muttered, turning to him with squared shoulders, “she clearly knew that he was taking the photos of her. Who would smile while reading ‘The Flowers of Evil?’ And beyond that, she’s liked him for months and he’s liked her for months. All you’ve really done is finally bring them closer together. Congratulations Flash, your plan has officially backfired.”

Flash groaned throughout the rest of the day and Michelle planned on teasing him for the rest of the school year. The girl’s cheeks were flushed pink until she went to sleep, and Peter couldn’t stop smiling, even though it only made the split in his lip worse.

V’s feelings

So, I just finished another Day 9 chatroom, and I really felt like I needed to pour my thoughts into this and create another analysis.

First and foremost, I would like to willingly admit my bias towards V, so that the rest of you can point out flaws in my argument if you feel I was using more emotion and less practicality. This is an open discussion where we can all come together to share our opinions, so please feel free to!!!

Now, as for V’s feelings. ..It seemed that today, I couldn’t stop thinking about what V had said regarding his love being obsession. Of course, I was incredibly pleased with Cheritz for adressing this and making sure the fans know that V’s idea of love is unhealthy and should not be romanticised!!!

But I, like many before me, assumed that he and Rika started out loving one another like any regular couple before everything descended into the seventh circle of hell. We had no reason to think otherwise.

However, the route seems to indicate that V was that infatuated with Rika from a very early stage, though the tendencies perhaps didn’t show up until later on.

I sat back for a moment and had to remember how to breathe as my brain started to peice together the implications.

V, someone most of the fandom has marvelled at for his unconditional love, doesn’t know how to love.

V doesn’t understand love as much as Rika doesn’t. The only people who truly loved him were his deceased mother and Jumin before the RFA.

It took a while for this to sink in, because before this, no one in the fandom knew how utterly and completely lost in the world V actually is.

We had assumed that everything was due to the common side effects of being a domestic abuse victim. And while partially true, we now know that V is much, MUCH more complicated.

V does not understand the world or himself. I have made SEVERAL previous points touching on the fact that V’s infatuation with Rika can’t possibly be regarded anywhere near what a mentally stable person should feel. The fact that he’s not OK and probably never was, even going as far as to theorise about his familial life.

Basically; V, head of RFA, does not know who is and what the hell he’s doing. He stumbles upon Rika, and immediately decides that his life is for her; that loving her wholly and devoting himself to her is the purpose of his entire existence.

Let me rephrase that, for those that do not understand just how intense this is: V literally thought that his purpose in life was to love Rika and give himself completely to her; to let her hurt and destroy him, to let her pick him apart and ruin him whenever it was she wishes.

This isn’t even because Rika implied something- he was always this way. And when the implications came up, he seemed absolutely unphased and accepting of it. That’s… That’s so fucking heartbreaking.

Rika fed into that part of V; she longed for someone to “save” her from the devil within, which even “God” could not save her from, in her words. This encouraged V’s unhealthy infatuation and solidified the idea that, yes; his purpose in life was to be her sun until she wished to extinguish him completely.

This went on going until Rika’s “devil” finally became suffocated by V’s “love”, and she had to flee. (Important to note that she left V because of this, but she did not start Mint Eye due to this. Mint Eye had already been in progression far before this! I’ll link to the post describing that soon.)

Now, V obviously regrets it. He goes into this state of depressing self contemplation and tells the MC that he regrets attempting to love anyone. He regrets allowing himself to share in the joy of love. I had never felt so heartbroken from a VN like this since Seven’s Route. ..

Anyway. MC goes on to say this;

In the first picture, we can see that V and Rika are similar in that way; both wished desperately to experience love, but it was a love that was false and ended in agony. V fell in love with the idea of love so pure and selfless like the sun, something he longed to experience himself- Rika fell in love with the idea of being loved and understood by someone. To me, at least, both fell in love with their wishes and ideals, and they lived that through one another.

And I think the MC is right when she says that their love was tragic. Remember, neither of them ever loved anyone else before, as far as we all know. And this first experience for them was DISASTROUS and damaging. V’s sense of self is even lesser than before

Here we see V wallowing in guilt and self hatred. He scolds himself for ever thinking that he could love someone properly. He scolds himself for ever thinking he deserves love.

He is a broken man- peices of a puzzle that refuse to fit with one another, photographs that tell a disconnected story and incomplete paintings riddled with tear drops.

For all the innocence of character Yoosung and Rika portray, according to Cheritz… V seems pretty innocent as well. He tries to build his way up- tries to fill a void in his soul and tries to save others because he’s too afraid of the idea of saving himself.

I believe Rika when she says that V’s love only made her worse because it “threathened [her] devil” , even though I firmly believe she fed into it continuously and that her actions (hurting V and starting Mint Eye, brainwashing vulnerable people into it) are her own and hers alone. However; I don’t believe her at all when she says that V only wants to sacrifice himself for the sake of nobility. I believe that she believes it, but I don’t agree with it myself.

Because here we see a V that’s so willing to figure out just why he was born in this world- a V who knows not who is nor why he is there, and who cares less about himself than Jaehee does about Elizabeth the Third. He truly wants to put an end to what he believes he started.

And I’m going to end this post on that note. I might make another couple of posts regarding Rika, Ray, and V in general because there’s a lot to sort through in this route. Thank you for reading and I hope you guys are enjoying this route as much as I do!

Imagine skyping with Jensen on your anniversary and him having a unique surprise for you.

“Hey, just hanging out on set here with the crew, the car… And a few friends.” Jensen turned the camera to show a group of people right behind him, making you giggle as you saw all the Supernatural fans on the background.

“Woooo!” they all cheered as Jensen waved at them, his eyes still focused on his phone’s screen and therefore you.

“You’re having all the fun there without me huh?” you put on playful frown “Shame on you.”

“Oh you know it’s never real fun without you here, sweetheart.” he grinned at you, winking.

“Just on our anniversary hm? You are a terrible boyfriend.” you tried to say as seriously as you could but it was impossible considering the adorable pout that appeared on his face. Why did you have to love him this much?

“I’m sorry, baby. You know I’d give everything to take the first plane and fly right there to you and give you on of the biggest hugs and kisses.” he sighed a little too sadly and you felt bad for bringing it up in the first place.

“Jens, I didn’t mean it like that. Come on, you know I was just kidding. I am thankful for every moment I spent with you on and off set. I know that you didn’t imagine it like this, but you had to do the extra shooting.” you shrugged, getting comfortable in your bed as you wrapped his flannel closer around you. It was some sort of comfort to be able to smell his scent days like this when he had to leave because he had extra scenes. You did have a role in Supernatural but much like Misha you didn’t have to spend so much time on set like Jensen and Jared.

“I know, I couldn’t skip this because otherwise I would break down but- this is out five-year anniversary. I had so many things planned and-” he bit his lip, turning around so that you could see the Impala again “I wanted us to do so many things today and I just- I screwed up, I’m so sorry.”

“Don’t apologize, please.” you offered him a small but sad smile “We can do this another day, we’ll pretend it’s our anniversary and we can spoil each other as much as we want.”

“It’s just it won’t be the same. And I wanted you to know it today that-” he cleared his throat looking at the group of people again “Just wait, they have a little something for you.” he said a little excited, turning to show them again.

“Alright guys, you ready?” he asked as he got a loud “Yes” as a response.

“One, two-” he glanced behind him “Three!”

“I love you!” they all shouted in unison so that it sounded almost like oe voice and you bit hard on your lip, giggling softly.

“Oh Jensen, I know that already.” you felt your heart swell inside your chest “I love you too baby, very much.”

“I just needed you to know this today.” he whispered “Because things probably didn’t go as planned but I am still set on asking you today-” he took a deep breath, giving the guys a small nod.

“(Y/n)!” they all shouted in one voice, making you grin to yourself “Open the first drawer of your nightstand!” this was harder to say but they managed.

“Ok” you chuckled with a perplexed look on your face as you went for it. But you froze mid-movement when the only thing you saw was a small red velvet box.

“What…?” you whispered, trailing off, not paying attention to your computer as you took hold of it.

“Jensen what-” you tried to swallow the lump in your throat as you felt tears well up in your eyes.

“Open it, sweetheart.” his voice was rough as well, laced with emotion. Even if you didn’t look at him you could picture that nervous and cute smile on his face as well as his glossy eyes.

You did as told, still unable to look up from it as you trembling hands you attempted to open it. For some reason it seemed harder than you’d expect, your muscles refusing to do the simple task but when you actually opened it all air got knocked out of your lungs. Your eyes widened more than before and you could swear you felt a tear slip from your eye as your lips fell apart. You stared at the diamond ring for what felt like an eternity before managing to move your eyes and look back at the screen.

“Jensen…” your voice was barely above a whisper and whatever words you had in mind to say disappeared when you saw the four words on the screen.

“(Y/n)” he breathed out, giving you a nervous smile “I wish I was there to ask you this, but I am not going to waste this day when I planned to make it the best of your life. So I need to ask you one last thing-” he said breathlessly before glancing at them and giving them a nod.

“Will you marry me?” they all shouted in unison as they held boards with the words.

“Will you marry me, princess?” Jensen repeated the question in a whisper.

You held your cheek in shock as you stared at Kimberly in front of you. You watched as her chest was breathing hard. You noticed how her eyes that were once filled with anger and frustration faded into sadness.

The security guard that worked on your office floor quickly ran up to the commotion. Your coworker, Olivia, was quick to yell at him for “Not coming fast enough” and motioned for him to take Kimberly away.

As the guard placed his hand on Kimberly, asking her to come with him, Kimberly looked at you and whispered, “I’m sorry” before she followed him to the elevators. As you watched Kimberly leave, Olivia and the rest of your coworkers were quick to check up on you. Olivia inspected your cheek while she exclaimed, “Crazy bitch! What the fuck was that? Are you okay?”

As soon as the elevator doors opened, you ran out, hoping Kimberly was still in the building. You instantly saw her walking out the doors. “Kimberly!” You shouted before you ran after her. Kimberly turned around at the calling of her name. When you finally caught up to her, she sighed. She wrapped her arms around herself. For the first time since you’ve known Kimberly, this was the fist time she ever looked vulnerable. She always walked around with such confidence and a “No shits given” attitude but as you were staring at her, all of that was gone.

Kimberly instantly saw your red cheek from where she slapped you. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I didn’t mean to slap you like that. Especially in front of your coworkers.” Kimberly softly said as she stared at ground. You quickly shook your head. “It’s okay” You assured her before you placed your hand on her arm. “Is everything alright?”

Kimberly looked at your hand before she looked up at you. Suddenly she let out a small cry before she wrapped her arms around you, pulling you in for a hug as she cried into your shoulder. Your eyes went wide before you slowly returned the hug. You noticed the people walking by the two of you were staring and probably wondering why a girl was sobbing in another girl’s arms in the middle of the sidewalk.

“Shh. Shh. Come on. Let’s talk.” You said.

You gave Kimberly a couple of tissues before you sat down on the couch next to her. You lead Kimberly back into your office building. As the two of you were sitting down in the lobby, her sobbing stopped but her tears continued to spill. Kimberly was grabbing the ends of her hair while you mentally debated what you should say.

Kimberly was the first to break the silence. “Harry told me that you guys rekindled last night in our meeting today.”

Your cheeks went red as your mouth opened in shock. You couldn’t believe Harry would tell her something happened when you didn’t even know for yourself what was going on between the two of you. Kimberly glanced at you before looking away. “He told me how you guys reconnected at Niall’s wedding last night.”

Harry walked into the conference room with a smile on his face as he read your latest text to him. Not only was he happy he had his best friend back, he could finally tell you all the things he wanted to tell you but couldn’t because of his feelings for you. Kimberly was sitting one one side of the table her lawyer while his lawyer was sitting on the other side. Harry looked over at Kimberly with a lopsided grin as he took his seat. “Kimberly, how are you, love?”

Kimberly was staring at Harry with her eyebrows raised. Out of all the meetings they’ve had so far with their lawyers, Harry was never this happy. This was always a serious matter and here he was acting like he was walking on cloud nine. “What’s wrong with you?” she asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Harry sent one last text to you before he put his phone away. “Nothing. Let’s start.”

After the meeting, both lawyers stepped aside to go over last minute decisions and details. Kimberly was picking up her purse, getting ready to leave when Harry gently placed his hand on her shoulder. Kimberly turned around to her almost ex-husband. Harry scratched the back of his neck while he thought carefully how to word what he was about to say.

“Kimberly, love, I know these meetings have been hard. It’s been tough for the both of us.” Harry said as he looked at someone he once thought he was going to spend forever with.

Kimberly nodded as she clutched on to her purse tighter against her body. Harry continued, “I just wanted to tell you that I recently got back in touch with Y/N. We were at Niall’s wedding together last night.” Harry smiled as he thought about the night you guys spent together last night. “And I just want you to know that she’s not the reason we’re getting a divorce. I just feel like we both rushed into things by getting married. We weren’t ready-”

When Kimberly heard your name, she couldn’t hear anything else. She didn’t listen to Harry’s excuse on why he asked for a divorce. She didn’t care. All she could see was red. She knew telling Y/N to stay away from Harry was a good idea. Now look what happened when Y/N didn’t listen. Harry was asking for a divorce because of Y/N. This was all Y/N’s fault.

Kimberly stared at her ring finger that once had the most beautiful ring could ever ask for. She sighed as she wiped away her tears with the sleeve of her sweater. “Harry and I…we were so happy. I only agreed to the divorce because I was hoping that Harry would somehow come to his senses and realize he was making a mistake. I was hoping that he would realize he loved me.”

You looked into Kimberly’s tearing eyes, beginning to feel nothing but guilt. Kimberly continued, “But when he told me about you coming back? I thought this was it. Harry’s going to get a divorce and be with you.” Kimberly placed her face into her hands and let out a sob. “I just feel like such a failure.”

Hesitatingly you scooted closer to Kimberly and placed your arms around her, pulling her in for a hug. Kimberly returned the hug as she continued into your shoulder.

You rubbed her back soothingly as you closed your eyes and sighed. You remembered clearly to the day that Kimberly told you to stay away from Harry. You remembered feeling so angry at her for even thinking about saying such of a thing to you. Now, as you were looking at the girl afraid she was losing her husband, you realized it wasn’t a threat; it was Kimberly’s way of crying for help.

You pulled away from the hug and held her at arm’s length. “I’m going to fix this, okay?” You pulled her in again and sighed as you hugged her. “I’m going to fix everything…”

Harry wrapped his arms from behind you as you were taking the takeout boxes out of the bag. He sighed contently as he buried his face into the crook of your shoulder.

Having Harry holding you like this should’ve made you smile. You should’ve felt butterflies in your stomach but for now all you felt was guilt and a bitter taste in your mouth. You gently shrugged Harry off as you grabbed two plates from the cabinet.

Harry proceeded to bring the boxes of food to the dining room table. “How was your day, love?” You sighed as you took your seat across from him. You stared at Harry as he began to put food on his plate. You bit your lip before you asked, “What are we doing, Harry?”

Harry paused as he was taking some rice out of the box before he continued. “We’re having dinner.” Harry said as he gave you a playful look.

You shook your head as you leaned in closer. “No. What are we doing, Harry? You’re married.” Harry stuck his finger at you as he corrected you, “Getting a divorce.”

“Yes. But still married.” You shot back. Harry sighed as he put his plate down. You glanced between his eyes and his plate. “Kimberly stopped by my office today.”

Harry’s eyes went wide before you continued, “She was in tears, Harry.” Harry sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. You whispered, “She told me she thought you guys might still have a chance.”

Harry reached over and placed his hand on top of yours. “Love, I’m sorry that you’re in the middle of this. I’m sorry that she came and talked to you. I’ll bring that up the next meeting we have but please believe me when I say I want to pursue a relationship with you.”

You took your hand out of Harry’s hold as you got up from the table. “Is that fair when you haven’t even pursued your marriage with Kimberly?”

Harry stood up as well and began walking towards you. “Marrying Kimberly was mistake. It was stupid on my part when I knew I had feelings for you. I should’ve been all in it if I was marrying someone.”

You looked down at the floor as you wrapped your arms around yourself. “Before you knew about my feelings for you, you were all in it. You believed that you were going to be with Kimberly for the rest of your life.”

Harry opened his mouth but you were quick to say, “Because of me, I ruined someone’s marriage. I hurt Kimberly. I ruined everything for her. I’m a home wrecker.”

Harry shook his head quickly as he placed his hands on your arms. “Love, you didn’t ruin anything. Our marriage was going to end eventually.”

You shook your head. “You don’t know that.”

Harry closed his eyes momentarily. “I do know it! Because throughout my whole marriage, all I could think about was you! All I could see when I was looking at Kimberly was you! Kimberly was a distraction from you!”

As you listened to Harry’s words you couldn’t help but tear up. You have loved Harry for so long and hearing him say the words you’ve always wanted to hear; you couldn’t enjoy it. Instead your mind drifted to the girl that was crying in your arms today. You couldn’t help but think what if it was you on the other side? What if you were in Kimberly’s shoes? What if you were marrying Harry and you truly, truly thought you guys were going to be together for the rest of your life? What if deep down, Harry wasn’t happy and wanted to be with someone else?

How could you do that to someone?

Harry was staring into your tear filled eyes, trying to get an idea of what was going on in that beautiful min of yours. You looked at Harry and shook your head. “I can’t do this.”

Harry’s mouth fell open. He could hear his heart physically breaking at the thought of losing you again. “Whatever is going on between us, I can’t do it. I can’t do that to someone.”

Harry’s eyes began to fill with his own tears. “So we’re back to where we started? We’re going to go back to not talking for a whole fucking year?”

You placed your hands on Harry’s cheeks in hopes of calming him down. “I can’t go back to that. Not having you in my life was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”

Harry placed his hand on top of yours as he let out a sniff. You wrapped your arms around Harry, pulling in for a hug. He let out a shaky sigh as he wrapped his arms around your waist. “So what does this mean for us?”

You let out a chuckle as a very tanned Emma and Niall took a seat across from you. “You guys look great!” You laughed.

Emma smiled. “Hawaii was awesome! Everyone is so nice there and the food-”

“So how are things going between you and Harry?” Niall said with a smile on his face. When Niall and Emma got back from their honeymoon, they immediately wanted to catch up. You sighed as you thought about what happened a couple nights ago. After telling Harry you couldn’t be with him romantically, the two of you vowed to be what you guys knew best; best friends.

It was definitely hard. There were times when you looked at Harry and just wanted to feel of his lips on yours again. There were times where the two of you were cuddling while watching a movie and you just wanted to tell him how much you loved him but you couldn’t.

You proceeded to tell Niall and Emma everything that happened. You told them how Kimberly came into your office and slapped you, you told them how she cried in your arms in the lobby, and most importantly you told them your decision to remain friends with Harry.

When you finished talking you noticed how both Niall and Emma were quiet. Niall had his arms crossed as he stared away from you while Emma had her mouth closed. Emma shrugged her shoulders and let out a sigh, “I suppose. If this is what you want, Y/N.”

You were about to respond before Niall interrupted abruptly. “No. No Y/N. You’ve wanted Harry for years. And once you finally have the chance to be with him, you throw it away to spare someone you don’t even like? Kimberly has always been awful to you! She’s threatened you, she’s horrible to you and you respond by letting her walk all over you? No. This isn’t fair. Why does her feelings trump yours?”

You were staring at your lap as Emma softly placed her hand on top of Niall’s. “Honey, calm down.” Emma said softly.

Niall shook his head. “Y/N. You’re one of my best friends. I’ve seen you hurt for so long and I’ve seen you put others before yourself. You’re a good person, Y/N. I can’t just stand back and watch you throw your happiness away. I know, Emma knows, everyone with eyes knows that you and Harry belong together. What’s stopping you?”

You let out a sigh as you finally looked up at Niall. “I’m scared of being with Harry.”

The high chime of yet another eager customer ricocheted off of pale yellow walls, leather booths, and tiled flooring that was worn down with age. The quaint little shop lacked elegance, yet made up for it with charm. Watercolor paintings of sea cliffs, dipping waves, and golden sand hung from every corner of the small cafe, each dated and signed by a unique signature in the far left corner.

“Table three!” Your father’s gruff voice reminded from the back storage room, your attention once again redirected to the easily recognizable and overgrown mop of dusty brown hair, belonging to your best friend, who wore a forlorn frown, looking especially distressed as he sat himself into his regular booth. Red leather squeaked under the weight of his body as he threw himself down onto it, leaning his head against the cool glass of the large window that overlooked the crowded sidewalks and busy streets, a long horizon of blue easily noticeable in the distance.

“You look like you need some pie.”

Tokyo Dome without Onew (Fan account)

I decided to write this fan account since I know a lot of my friends on tumblr are just as worried as I am about shinee, shinee5, shinee4 and onew and what his scandal might mean for the future of shinee. This is how I experienced the weekend, so nothing is facts, but what I saw and interpreted and I know everyone I talked to who were there pretty much felt the same way, so I’m confident enough about it to write about it.

So firstly. How did the fans react?

I lined up for 3 ½ hours on Saturday and I saw LOTS of onew merch in the hands of shawols. A lot of his merch sold out too. He and taemin are still very very popular among jshawols. I did not feel any lack of support outside of the dome, I was very excited to see that many had onew stuff or strips in their bags with all members names. Nothing indicated that jshawols are done with onew, generally speaking, of course.

So the concert; shawols DID cheer noticeably louder for Onews vcr segments than the rest. I myself yelled onew a lot, because I yelled all the members names and I personally had no reason to not - but generally in the first day I felt like jshawols tried to support Onew extra in their own way - jshawols are quiet and don’t scream much in public (I’m sure I appeared as a foreign douche)

On Sunday however I don’t think onew was particularly cheered more for or not. His merch also weren’t sold out the same way as first day. What does this mean? That Saturday was a sad concert. But we needed it. We needed to be sad. And shinee needed to be sad. But in Sunday everything was happier. Because we got it out of our system; shinee too. So Saturday was definitely the “Onew day” where Sunday was “Tokyo Dome fun” day.

As I already mentioned in earlier posts, on Saturday jonghyun and key were visibility affected. Jonghyun seemed absent minded
For a large part of the concert, and like he didn’t fully enjoy it. He was also the member to mention that “today they where there without onew”. This was the only time, expect for Taemin in the end of Saturday , mentioning anything about Onews absence. They did NOT mention anything about it Sunday; but again, Sunday was the “good” day and there was no need to rub salt into the wound.

Some of you may have seen that key actually posted a instagram photo commenting on the fact that he cried; saying he sometimes gets tears into his eyes watching shawols. I think he felt needed to address it because he so obviously cried hurt tears. He bite his lip, looked up into the corners or down into ground, all the physical signs when someone is sad but trying to keep it in.

Jonghyun, taemin and Minho weren’t crying during winter wonderland, but my friend said she’d categorize it as crying even though no tears fell, because they all had wet eyes and looked sad. Not moved, but sad. But especially Jonghyun and key; difference is that key tried to cover it up, Jonghyun absolutely didn’t. He was sad and he had no problem showing; this probably rubbed off on fans. Generally the fan chants were sloppy or non existent and the cheering was pretty low too, even for jshawols - this I was told by my friend beside me who went to several JAT arena concerts.

They fanchants were a lot better Sunday.
I still want to give credit to 2min for trying so, so, SO hard on Saturday. We all know Minho is always hyper but taemin was Minho level this time around. A lot more than usual, not that he’s not hyper or happy normally but he was clearly working on making up for what the concert was lacking.

But what lacked Saturday was made up for on Sunday; as I said I felt like we got it out of our system. Myself included. I was sad, anxious and even cried out of sadness during the end on Saturday but was super happy and having a lot of fun on Sunday. I did have fun during Saturday too but there was many bits where I’d feel sad when they did a particular part with no onew. But we all knew what to expect Sunday so everything went smoother. It is however true that Saturday was sold out and Sunday was not - me and my friends could easily point out sections on the 2 floor with empty seats and the seats around me were also empty. But there was still lots of thousands of fans. We’re not talking huge empty sections. But visible empty seats in the crowd, yes. But it was okay and when the shawol ocean was still beautiful and it wasn’t noticeable when the light went out.

As for shinee and this concert in generally..

Honestly I feel like these Tokyo dome concerts sended a statement from shinee to shinee world. They had plenty of time to rearrange things but they didn’t. At some performances they would have light on a empty spot. Onews spot. Everything would go black besides that spot. They did not cover him, they did not rearrange their places in choreographies and only had a dancer if physically required (Get the treasure, everybody etc). The VCRs played heavily on “shinee and their memories”. They showed about shinee members talking about another member and showing pictures of that member from debut. Having those debut-onew pictures flashing hurt. Especially on the first day when we didn’t know.

And the fact that Jonghyun and key was visible affected and that SM / SHINee did not bother to fix the holes, and there were holes that could easily have been fixed; to me it’s a message.

This is what you get without onew.

Taemin, Jonghyun, Key and Minho are fantastic entertainers and professionals and I do not believe for one second they couldn’t have handled rearrangements etc. This was a choice. To show that, if you pull out a member from shinee, This is what you get; a huge, visible HOLE in the team.

This is not a fact, This is what I got from it and you can do with it what you want, but there was a lot of decisions that didn’t make sense about this concert, especially the fact that they pulled out solo performances when onews absence would only make solos so much more a good idea to include so they wouldn’t have a whole setlist with songs where he was missing. Stuff that just weren’t fixed and I believe it wasn’t fixed because they wanted to let us know

Shinee is five

So if they’re only four, there’s gonna be a hole in every performance

A hole they aren’t interested in trying fix.

So I believe this was a message, and I sincerely believe and support in what taemin said at the end of Saturday; that next time they’ll be in Tokyo dome he hopes to return as five. That has nothing to do with taking sides or not taking matters seriously. That’s something I sincerely can justify for him wishing for, because there’s a unfixable hole in their team without him.

These concerts didn’t lack talent or professionalism; it lacked that magically shinee spark. And that’s what you get from shinee when you break their team. I really believe that’s what these concerts showed us. And yes Sunday went better and yes, they were happier. But that doesn’t erase all the sadness showcased on the first day.

Here’s to hope that shinee will never have to perform again as only 4 with the fear of never returning as 5 again, because it’s really draining them, and it drains their overall performances.
