(Part 1.5) other people despite my brain constantly seeing, approaching, and understanding things differently... and the more I know, the better I am at handling more things in my life not only from my perspective, but the perspective of others as well.
First of all, thank you so much for your reply.
Second, I must apologize… I’m sorry. The thing is, there was a misunderstanding.
Although I was born and raised in Hawaii, I have a limited vocabulary. It’s embarrassing, really…
My parents are both from Japan, and so my first language was Japanese. When I started school, I surrounded myself around other Japanese children, to avoid the irritating, rather stressful process of understanding another language. Therefore, I spoke Japanese at home and at school. I would avoid teachers as much as possible, since I didn’t know what they were saying anyways. I remember when I was in middle school, I used to hide behind my text book every time our teacher looked around the classroom to choose who should read out loud next. High school is when I finally started to feel comfortable speaking English.
Even til this day, I cannot read a book. Well, I can, but… when I read a book, I’m reading the words, the sentences, the paragraphs — without understanding what the hell is going on. Even if I understand each words’ meaning, the story/message is not being received. So when the writings consists complex sentences, I get easily confused.
Anyways, for this case, I misunderstood what you were saying because I thought the word “invaluable” meant “not valuable”. Which is why I got confused thinking, “wait so do I continue to write or is my writings not valuable”. So embarrassing…
I am so sorry. Now that I know what you said in your original post, I understand what you were saying and I appreciate it so much!!
Not only that but I’m very happy to know that you also appreciate the beauty of people having different perspectives. Some people think whatever they think is the only way to think, and anyone who thinks differently is ‘wrong’, but that’s ignorant. The fact is, we all have our own opinions and perspectives, which we all are entitled to. Sometimes we may agree, and sometimes we may disagree, and that’s okay! In fact, if someone thinks their opinion is right and everyone else is wrong, that’s okay too. That’s how they feel, that’s fine, unless if they try to dictate and control others’ actions, forcing their beliefs…
Cannot agree with you more, and I am so glad to meet someone like you. Thank you so much!
P.S. You just reminded me and inspired me to write about my silly thoughts I have had since when I was a child… I hope you’ll find it interesting!
