i dont know if these are any good

How Countries View America
  • Europe's America: remember, if you need any help then don't forget to ask! Everything’s gonna be alright! I know you oldies would need all the help, as long as you don’t trust Russia and not become socialists~! Probs not THAT expensive~! Oh, by the way, do you have the money you owe me?
  • Asia's America: If North Korea or other enemies does anything, I'll be sure to either come over and help, haha! Haha y’all in good hands! Oh, and I’m hungry! Can’t wait to eat at the Asian restaurant!!
  • Latin America's America: you guys aren't doing anything right! Geez, why aren't you doing anything about the dictators there?? If you don't do anything, I'll make sure to deal with it myself and come over.
  • Mexico's and Canada's America: GUYS I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE FUCK IM DOING!!! I DONT EVEN HAVE ANY MONEY FOR CHICKEN NUGGETS!! *cries*

oh but now is as good a time to say this as any

i feel like it should be common courtesy that if youre the last person to answer a slot in a group chat you should be the first person to like, say something in the chat, so you can ping it for everyone else? since the last person to answer it literally gets taken to the chat immediately? idk if people dont know this or just dont care but like a new group chat will not be marked as unread until someone actually says something

Maybe plastic tastes good to pets? I work with lead, and have to be careful that any lead shaving or balls dont come home with me, because lead is sweet to cats and they will eat peices whole.

maybe! VB specifically goes after chip bags and snack wrappers so she probably smells the salt and sugar on them. I also know that rabbits like to chew on wires because they’re attracted to the buzz of electricity and mistake them for roots

my partner has really bad depression episodes— ones that are so bad that i dont know how to make them feel better or even just to make them feel acknowledged. it’s taking a toll on my own mental health, but i want to be there for him and it’s not like i don’t love him anymore or anything like that. What should I do?

umm i dont know im not good at advice or stuff like this i think, while it’s good to be there for people, you also need to take your own mental health into account

Everyone Lived.

Everyone lived. When Harry was born, Lily hardly saw him because Sirius was fitting him into a tiny leather jacket, Remus was reading to him, and James was already trying to sneak him to the Quidditch supply store to get Harry his first toy broom. Christmases were spent with full bellies and rooms stuffed with laughter, and there wasn’t a single person without flushed cheeks from all the wine. Lily’s eyes sparkled, and there was always a joke on the tip of James’ tongue. All Harry knew was love, love, love, from every corner of the universe.

Everyone lived, and every Thursday afternoon, Sirius and Remus took Harry to the “library”, which was the secret word they taught him for the ice cream parlor. With each trip, they ordered the biggest sundae that was offered with three spoons, and Harry always ate nearly all of it. They kept it up until the day Harry asked Lily to take him to the library and, when confronted with the shelves piled high with books, he asked her where they went to order their ice cream.

Remus and Sirius got married when Harry was three, and Harry was the ring bearer. Lily cried the first time she saw him in his tiny dress robes. They were just long enough that he nearly tripped halfway up the aisle. There wasn’t a single pair of dry of eyes in the audience that day.

Everyone lived, and on Harry’s sixth birthday, he celebrated alongside Neville with all their friends and family. James gave Harry his first set of toy Quidditch balls. He, Ron, Neville, Draco, and Ginny all played together until Draco pushed Neville off his broom and into the cake Alice had spent hours working on. Lily tried so hard not to laugh at Neville’s frosting-covered face, but instead she went beet red and gave herself away to everyone.

Draco said he was sorry. He actually meant it.

Everyone lived, and the moms had a Lockhart book club, which consisted of everyone getting wine-drunk and complaining about their husbands together. Draco, Neville, Harry and Ron eavesdropped and reported back to their dads, who were standing around the kitchen armed with beer, about what they did wrong that week. Each of the meetings somehow coincidentally ended with each of the men stopping by to bring their respective wives bouquets of flowers or boxes of chocolate “because they just felt like it.”

Everyone lived, and Draco and Harry were friends, believe it or not. When Narcissa and Lucius had a date night, they dropped Draco off at the Potters. James told them scary stories in the darkness of their blanket tent. Lily used magic to cast shadows all over their living room, and Harry and Draco wouldn’t sleep for the rest of the night. But Lily kissed each of their foreheads and assured them each that everything would be fine, because she and James would never let anything bad happen to either of them.

She meant it.

Draco and Harry stayed up until their eyelids were simply too heavy to bear, but Harry managed to remain awake till Draco was completely asleep before closing his eyes. It was one of the most peaceful things he’d ever seen. He wasn’t exactly sure why he thought that. Not yet, anyways.

Everyone lived. Everyone got a little bit older. The kids all went off to Hogwarts, somehow managing to stuff themselves all into one train compartment, even with Hermione once she joined. Draco and Harry got put into different houses, which was a relief to everyone around them. “they already bickered like a married couple without rooming together,” Ron said when they were first sorted, “I don’t want to think about what we’d have to deal with if they were sharing a dorm.”

The only time Harry and Draco forgot about their friendship was when they played against each other in Quidditch. There were no rules when you needed to be the first one to the snitch.

(I suppose there weren’t any rules when it came to making out with your best friend in an empty corridor after drinking half a bottle of fire whiskey, either.)

Sixth year came with sly glances and brushing fingertips in the hallway; throwing all caution to the wind and risking friendship for feelings Harry and Draco had been denying since they were kids. Ron and Hermione exchanged knowing looks, but no one said a word. Not even when Harry inconspicuously crept out of bed nearly every night at half past two with his Invisibility cloak in tow, not returning until the sun was just peeking out over the mountains, if at all. He looked happier than ever that year, secrets tugging on the corners of his mouth every time he spoke.

Everyone lived, and when Draco and Harry came out to their families their seventh year, everyone groaned. “You owe me ten Galleons,” was the first thing James said to Lucius, and Harry knew then that everything was going to be okay.

Because everyone was here, surrounding him, breathing, alive. They all hugged him and Draco at once, cheeks smooshed together, a mess of laughter and “I love you’s” and kisses on foreheads. They were all connected then, their pulses stitching them together with a bond Harry knew nothing could break.

They all knew hurt; they knew pain and suffering, and they knew loss, but most of all, they knew each other. They knew love, and they knew hope.

As they stood there, a giant amoeba of people from all walks of life, some more challenging than others, Harry let go of the breath he felt as though he had been holding for his entire life.

i still retain that the absolute worst part of secret life of pets was the moral, aka there really is none and its basically shown by the rabbits character arc. he’s introduced as a sort of…villainy antihero? he runs an underground rebellion of abandoned and mistreated animals against humans. he’s established as a villain because he thinks humans are bad and wants the main characters to join his cause, but they don’t want to because they know their humans are Good, so basically then they run away and the rabbit is out to get them.

fastforward to the end of the movie and we get a little girl wanting to keep the rabbit and this happens, turns out he’s good! he just needed to open up to humans

partnered with the shots in the movie of fish in tiny bowls, birds in tiny cages, and a turtle in a deplorable enclosure, the movie frankly paints a picture that ‘the mean animals hated humans just because they didnt know any better’ and that people are good and it was just up to them to see it. yes thats a plot thats been done of a rehabilitated animal finding a good home, but no human was really at fault for anything in the movie. theres no lesson to be learned that people also need to take good care of their pets, every animal just needs to be hugged! i dont know, something about the presentation in this movie really rubbed me wrong way

this movie was made for people who just like to look at cute animals and frankly that demographic constantly overlaps with improper pet ownership and impulse buying..

shoutout to the survivors who are not forgiving, who do not believe that what happened to them was ‘for a reason’, who know they did not deserve it, who are angry at what happened to them, and who do not show the typical 'good victim’ trope. You all get so much shit from people about how you should act from your trauma because only 'good victims’ are deserving of empathy and support. You deserve so much more than that.

LOOK WHAT I WOKE UP TO THIS MORNING!!!

Oh my gosh!!! I finally hit 5000+ followers???? Really didn’t think this would happen but here we are!

How do you even become cosplay guests with no skill?

LOL I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or honest seriousness but, here’s what I got!

First and foremost, being a convention guest is not just an honor and a priviledge, it is a job.

A job that has responsibilities and expectations, and should be treated as such. When Sylar and I go to a convention as a guest, we are 100% working.

We have a work resume for conventions, a contract, a portfolio of programming, and more. Because that what you are really, programming. Even if all they want you to do is sit at a table and sign things, thats still programming. Its your job to   represent the convention, and give con goers more content for the tickets they bought. You owe it to them to make sure your 100% postive, there, working, and providing something they can’t get anywhere else.

And all con guests are asked to attend for different reasons. Some cosplay guests are asked to come because they are widely known for their technical skill and they will provide programming related to that. Or they simply have a huge fanbase, and are keeping their fanbase happy at your location, therefore spreading that market around.

Sylar and I work hard on our panels. We’re also trained speakers. Both he and I have taken classes, in college, about public speaking. We implement that and our presentation experience into all our panels. As well as our meet and greets at the table, interviews for the con’s media (there is a ton of backstage media going on that most con goers don’t know about. A lot of con time for guests is spent locked up in some empty room giving an interview,) and any floor time we have.

We also have 7 yrs experience working conventions. We have run cafes, hosted events, planned gatherings, organized raffles, done mutiple panels and workshops. We’ve also worked as Guest Liasions ourselves, written out program guides, sat at registration tables, and MCed masquerades as well as judged them. All things that involve systems, filling out paperwork, knowing how to handle negative situations, and doing menial tasks. Heck, we’ve even done set-up and break down for dealers halls. We know cons.

And this is something valued because honestly, its not a job for everyone.

Lots of cosplayers out there with amazing technicality skills just don’t like catering to crowds. They aren’t good speakers. Or they don’t have it in them to sit at a table for 6 hours just listening to strangers speak and ask them questions. Or they might hate having to write out workshop forms. And thats okay! But thats the difference between who gets asked to guest and who doesnt.

Guests have to be okay with not getting time to shop, not getting time to hang out with their friends, and devoting all their energy to the convention goers. Devoting their whole day to smiling and talking and making sure everyone who meets them goes away happy.

If you are interested in coming a guest, awesome! My biggest tips are;
Figure out what service you can provide to the convention experience. What are you good at that you think a con needs? How can you expand that? How can you turn it into programming? Are you a health nut – maybe do a panel on dieting and working out, anime style!  Awesome at writing and editing? Fanfiction panel! A cosplayer who loves acting but hates sewing? Think about being a commentator for Cosplay Chess or the AMV contest!

Start volunteering now. All cons need volunteers and this is the best way to gain experience in the feild, just like any other job. I have friends that started volunteering as security for a con and now they run a convention of their own. No joke. It’s also helpful to know and understand the inner working of how a convention is run if you plan on guesting at one. It helps you help them by knowing what types of panels work best, what programming would work for that con specifically, or even just give you ideas on what their budget for you might be.

Write. A. Resume. Seriously. Just like you have a resume for job searching, write up a resume for cosplaying. How long have you been cosplaying? How many costumes? What skills do you have? Armor making? Public speaking? What experiences? Any awards? What topics are you an expert at that can be turned into an hour of programming? Put it alllllll dowwnnn in youurr resummmee.

Also, protip, you can always write to a a convention’s program director yourself and ASK to be a guest. It’s a job. Submit your application.

Hope this helps!

And funnily enough – this is all information that we talk about in our panel, Cosplay and Convention careers. Where not only do we cover working for cons, but we cover translating cosplay and con work into LIFE CAREERS and how to translate being in a maid cafe to a resume for a 5 star resturant hostess. Lol. My entire Graphic Design resume is pulled from cosplaying. And now I am a full time graphic designer for a state university.

studying when you dont want to

i know the feeling of being stuck between wanting to study because you have to and not wanting to study because you’re tired. so here are some of what i do (except #1 bc my new classmates think im a nerd for doing this so i stopped) when i dont feel like studying

  1. get a study buddy/friend/classmate to monitor your progress. maybe you can even compare your progress at every end of the day
  2. if you prefer studying alone, you can create a schedule. not really a schedule, but more of an allocation of hours. on a sheet of paper, write down all the things you usually do for a day and beside those, write the number of hours or minutes it takes to do them. add all those and subtract from 24, there you’ll have your hours and minutes of free time. allocate your free time accordingly to the subjects you have to study. however, don’t allocate all of your free time to studying, you need time to take a break as well.
  3. pamper yourself. you could take a bath, half bath, wash your face, or just change into clean and comfortable clothes (*cough* pajamas *cough cough*). comb your hair, tie em neatly in any way you feel good with.
  4. set up your study area. you could use the living room or dining room and just bring all the needed things, not all of em. sometimes it’s better to have only what you need in order to focus better. you could also just be in your room. if your room is cluttered, you could clean them or just put them in one place and hide them in a blanket. i know covering them sounds bad but you dont want to waste your energy in cleaning when you have to be studying.
  5. if you feel like your brain is cluttered, do a brain dump. write in a sheet of paper everything that comes into your mind and is bothering you. after, look at them and see if there are things you can act upon. if there are urgent things, act on them now. write the other non-urgent things on another sheet of paper/memo to take action later.
  6. if you feel like your brain is cluttered but it’s more of an emotional clutter, cry it out. take a few minutes, even an hour, and cry it all out. you’ll feel better. i know i feel better after crying.
  7. dont force yourself to study for hours on end. do the pomodoro technique where you study for 25 mins. then take a break for 5 mins., or alter this and study for an hour maybe then take a break for 10 minutes. have it your way depending on how you feel.
  8. just read. dont take notes, dont highlight. just read and understand the material. dont be afraid to search online or browse a dictionary about a term you dont understand. then after each chapter/lesson/topic, see if you can summarize what you just read. if you can summarize, proceed to the next. if you can’t, go back to reading. understanding is better than just memorizing.
  9. if you find something difficult, ask a classmate/friend to discuss the chapter/topic to you.
  10. if you know you can’t study an entire chapter, read the summary after each chapter.

feel free to add more to this list :D

I dont know if this is somewhere on your blog already but what is your opinion of the three kung fu panda villains?

oh boy first of all i lOVE kfp, i dont dislike any villains but i think some are more effective than others, but i think all their designs are pretty equal.

tai lung: i know the kfp movies are homages to the genre and he’s definitely imo the most…cliched one, but that’s because the first movie is still establishing the universe. i do really like his dynamic with shifu

shen: my favourite,i love that they made an evil peacock, he has a lot of good lines. his fighting animation was really cool

kai: when i think of kai all i remember tbh is his Imagine Dragons™ theme (which i like a lot). imo the weakest, mostly because they tried making him funny which took away a lot of the effectiveness

hi. i really like this nature spirit deku au so i wanted 2 draw it
