''surprising'' facts about the signs
  • aries: reaaaaalllly fucking sensitive. that's maybe why they can get angry pretty fast, because they just take shit too personal sometimes, and they can't deal with it. BUT OTHER THAN THAT, they're actually fucking adorable and smol little beans who just crave love.
  • taurus: very care-free and they do not care about a single shitt. they're very hard-working though and they try to get shit done, but they are also very lazy, which isn't really surprising.. they are also very quick to anger, just like aries.
  • gemini: gemini isn't THAT two-faced like people think. they're just moody. they can get easily annoyed and that's why their mood can change pretty fast.
  • cancer: they're pretty obsessed with themselves and they can be really fucking cocky. they secretly like to make others suffer and make them feel shitty. they do it very slowly and careful though, so people won't notice it.
  • leo: really insecure, but never shows their insecure side bc they still want to shine in the spotlight, without people noticing their flaws, if they even have them because most leo's are flawless af.
  • virgo: they tend to worry a lot, still they don't really care about shit. i know that it sounds weird, but it's true! well, at least for the virgo's i know in real life. they tend to worry a lot about their work and school stuff, but they don't really do anything for it, but they also don't really care. however, they always seem to make everything perfect.
  • libra: they are reallllyyyyyy insecure in their relationships. they're usually a pro at relationships, but they are really insecure about it and they often don't know how to deal with them, or what to do with them.

  • sagittarius: they are soft little beaaans. don't hurt them please. they seem really tough and strong, but they're realy sensitive. NEVER SHOWS IT THOUGH. you will never know when they're sad or anything, they always want to stay positive and happy, so they do.
  • capricorn: they seem to be emotionless and insensitive, but that's just because they want to be like that. they don't want all these feelings and emotions. but everyone has them, so they do too, but they try to hide it with sarcasm and sometimes even with anger.
  • aquarius: they have LOTS and LOTS of emotions floating in their head and heart and they just don't know what to do with it, so they just let their emotions destroy them, without saying a word. i don't know if it is a surprising fact, but i think it is.

  • Sangwoo: So after keeping you locked in my house by breaking both your legs, torturing you, making you kill someone and constant psychological torture, I try to do a nice thing for you by driving you to have a mental breakdown in making you jealous of a girl which leads you to stab her multiple times in a blind murder rage.

What is your stance on veganism outside of bees and elitism? I've been reading into it because some claim that it's bad for the environment not to be vegan or it's bad for your body and I don't know what sources to trust, but you've always been an accurate source of info, but I was just wondering your opinion?

You do you, man. If you feel better on a vegan diet, go for it. Just don’t try to get me to stop eating animal protein. Vegan diets don’t supply some B vitamins, but that can be supplemented.

But honestly, animal husbandry goes hand in hand with farming plant based foods. Chickens are going to lay eggs even without a rooster. Those eggs will just rot unless collected and eaten. And you want chickens, because they are A+++ natural pest control in gardens, and chicken dung is an excellent fertilizer to improve soil fertility for more plant food. And chickens die, eventually; why waste the meat? Even if you never slaughter a chicken, there is no good reason not to eat eggs and the chickens themselves once they get old and die. Save the feathers; those make good stuffing for pillows and mattresses.

Same for goats. Goats can live on marginal land where no crops can be grown, eat almost anything, and produce high quality milk, far more than a baby goat can drink. So, drink the milk, eat the goat when it dies. Compost the dung and use as fertilizer. Use the leather for whatever you need leather for.

Pigs can live off kitchen scraps. During WW2 in England, it was common for people to form a “Pig Club” to fatten a pig on scraps and then butcher it and share the meat. It was a good way of turning waste into food. Tan the hide, use the leather.

Veganism isn’t better for the environment. Going VEGETARIAN to a large extent, where you still eat eggs and cheese, might be a good compromise, and would make sure you get the proteins and B vitamins a vegan diet lacks. But honestly, the idea that veganism is somehow better for the environment is a myth.

there’s a rule about taking Doctor Who seriously and it’s that to take it seriously you need to not take it too seriously

this show doesn’t take itself seriously, no matter how dark it might get at times

this isn’t some fucking gritty Edgelord show, this is a show watched by millions of children about hope and belief and trying to help people even when it seems hopeless and even when it doesn’t work, we should never hope that anyone in it stays dead, especially not anyone that represents so much for so many

above all we should never as older fans want anything for it that would take away from the enjoyment of the younger fans

you can’t treat it the same way you would a lot of other shows. its demographic is anyone who is willing to believe in it, anyone of any age.

this is a show about an idiot in a magical box who fixes things with a screwdriver and a belief in the goodness of people

an idiot who gets into ridiculous situations that are often also dire, who saves the day always but only uses violence as a last resort, who tries to win with words and cleverness first

over the last few years it’s been one of the only shows on television still trying to tell a hopeful story in a world obsessed with Edgy Cynical Realism, while never shying away from how harsh the universe can be

it is a show about possibility where almost any thing or person or story that can be imagined could be plausible (hello, people being killed by plastic inflatable chairs, a small box being infinitely huge on the inside, a lesbian being saved by her magical star girlfriend)

it is a show created by lifelong fans, it is a constant love letter to itself with stupid little in jokes and nostalgic trips, and above all it is a message and lesson of hope and kindness

take it or leave it but that is what it will or at least should always be

hey? friendly reminder that it’s better to go 90%, 80%, or even like 50% vegan than to not try at all? (besides, no one can be truly 100% vegan, and we know that)

i’d infinitely rather talk to a vegetarian who has attempted going vegan, than a carnist who has never done any self reflection in their lifetime

pretty much all vegans will acknowledge that not everyone can go all or even most of the way vegan, but reducing some harm is better than turning a blind eye and not even trying

Concept: Shawn's angry. Very, very angry.

An Autistic Way of Learning to Do.

The way I deal with doing new tasks and following instructions to do them is different from what the people instructing how to do the task expect. I suspect it’s an autistic mode of processing that differentiates me from expectation.

Personally I fall in the “I don’t memorize anything in isolation” camp of autistics. Any time I’m learning something, I either instinctively am drawn to connect it to something I already know, granting it context and meaning, or I forget it. This is true for academic knowledge taught in school, but also for pretty much everything else too, including manual tasks.

If I’m being taught to use a new device or series of steps in anything, the most frustrating explanation for why those are the steps is “It just works.” I always need to know why a certain order of individual tasks is needed, what each does individually, and how that step contributes to the goal. This isn’t because I doubt the person teaching me, or because I’m incapable of doing the steps. Knowing does serve as a way to give context and solidify memory.

The biggest benefit though is probably in situations where context changes. The person who simply follows the steps taught to them without understanding for why they work will find that it doesn’t work, and not consider any ways in which adjustments might fix things. I however am able to narrow down which smaller step is what’s not working, and trouble shoot it and find potential solutions.

In this way, my operation of the task is more robust and flexible, whereas the opposite group has a much faster startup time to actually doing the task.

I imagine a lot of this comes down to a need to explore fine detail in things, and the fact that I never outgrew the need to ask of all things “Why?” (No one should ever outgrow this question, asking why is important in everything.)

I was wondering if any other autistics have a similar experience, or if anyone has a particularly different one. Growing up I wasn’t discouraged from asking about how things work, and was often given real answers above my age group. I bet that has something to do with it too.

@ parents

please don’t tell your kids to shut up when they’re trying to tell you something or if they’re upset. don’t ignore them. don’t invalidate their feelings. talk to them. listen to them. never tell your kid(s) their thoughts and feelings don’t matter.
