❉ + ✯
❉ do they have any pictures on their phone?
she does! lots of candids of her friends, taken with an expert and sneaky hand. most of them are extremely flattering, almost like a photoshoot, since she tries to be nice and only take them when she thinks someone is at their prettiest or when the lighting makes them look particularly nice. she has a few favourite models: riku, una, blair… people who make lots of nice expressions. though if you’re any sort of friends with her, she probably has at least a few of you. especially if she knows you don’t like how you look, she’ll make a point to take lots.
she also has a few important screenshots, a few pictures of food or faces in the foam of her latte, a funny shape the steam from her morning tea makes. sometimes she’ll take pictures of her nails, or things she thinks someone would like to send them later. if she sees una being promoted in an ad, she’ll take a picture. if she sees a brand of tea on sale that she knows he likes, she’ll take a picture and send it to hiro. if she sees something really outrageous, she’ll send a picture to jaune. something spooky gets sent with lightning speed to blair.
she has three or four photos of herself, an outfit she really likes or a hairstyle she wants to do again. her instagram feed is like looking through a photobook; very coordinated and pretty, with a definitive theme.
✯ what do their texts look like? do they use emojis often? what kind?
they’re mostly properly punctuated, but only the first letter of every sentence is capitalized, not names or proper nouns. she swaps spelled numbers for numerals, and she refuses to use more than one question mark or exclamation point. she uses ampersands exclusively for longer texts. they’re very dry and feel sort of final, with wording that confuses the meaning and vibe. it’s not very different from speaking to her face-to-face or over the phone, except that she’s a bit less formal for the sake of speed, and a lot more mocking. she also tends to sound more eloquent over text, since she has time to translate and think of the correct word for whatever language she’s speaking.
in terms of business texts, she’s formal and everything is grammatically perfect; her wording is very clear with no room for interpretation, and often ends with ‘next time, please call my assistant for these details.’ unless it’s someone very important.
her usage of emojis is sparse and strategic, for when she wants to convey a very specific idea, or further confuse/clarify the tonality of a message depending on how nice she’s feeling that day. unless you fall into the category of her favourite people (which you will never know the order of), she’s pretty stingy with her emojis.
but she does put emojis next to names, and they usually hold significant meaning to how she views that person or what she associates with them. una has a peach and a star, blair has a ghost, riku has a sun and a diamond, atlas has a globe and a knife. hiro obviously has a tiger.
it’s all very intricate, really.
