i don't even want to tag this as fan art lol

Hii palette anon here, haha. Of course, I wouldn't mind the wait at all! Hrmm...I was thinking "The Sweetest Chill" (because you seem so sweet; I love reading the tags whenever there are, and yours make me giggle and fangirl with you lol >_<) or "Tuesdays" for Yoosung please? (I love him a lot and the color scheme matches!!) Or if there's another palette that you think would look great with him, please go ahead and draw that instead! I'm sure I'll like anything you come up with >~<

Hello anon!!! ☆ (sorry for the wait;;) omg another person who also reads my tags hee thank you for sticking around! If anyone is the sweetest chill here, I bet it’d be you and yoosung!

I was checking reblogs of my art and someone reblogged my J2M thing and said “cute but…” and I wonderd “but what?”. So I clicked on the blog, scrolled a bit and found out they reblog asks and stuff of the “we must support J2, even when they have to play hetero and do the ‘bearding’ thing because Hollywood forces them to” and now I understand.

Sorry that Jared wasn’t smooching Jensen I suppose? *lol* I have no problem with fantasizing about J2 smooching and I enjoy some tinhatting for fun (*gasp* did Misha and Jensen have a break up and that was why they were kind of off at that one convention how many years ago etc), but when you’re serious about it I find it invasive.

Sure, if you’re serious about it but never make any demands on the actors and are just quietly rooting for them to profess their undying romantic love to each other, that’s fine with me. (Not that anyone needs my approval or permission. I’m just thinking out loud.) But I condemn how demanding some people are, trying to force their view of J2 on the actors, hate on their wives and kids and get mortally offended when J2 don’t do what they’re “supposed” to do, maybe even spend time with other friends outside of J2. I don’t know in what kind of world fan behavior like that is justified. (It does kind of remind me of German football ‘fans’ who riot and punish whoever they can when their teams don’t perform like they want them to.)

If you tinhat to yourself because it makes you happy, then totally go for it. If you become a bully because of it, then you absolutely don’t care one lick about how your faves are feeling. You only care about yourself.

(Steffi has random thoughts and overshares once again.)

reasons I like this place

This is really long and I don’t care, I wanted to say nice things today.

@my-name-is-fireheart was my first real tumblr friend and she is hella smart and I love how she can be that and sassy, and she can also take criticism in stride and tries to learn from that, even if people still insist on being jerks and acting like she is being unreasonable. Which she isn’t.

@illyriantremors is one of my fave fic writers and also one of the nicest people on tumblr dot com, not just because she is nice in general but we can say really petty shit to each other about different things and it’s A-OK, which is really great. Also she live-yells at me sometimes when reading my fics or listening to the podcast and it’s HILARIOUS. And she always notices when I seem to be having a hard time and we just are good at supporting each other, I think. Also, The Good Ship Moriel ftw.

@nightinsurgent is great because she loves animals (she basically owns them all at this point) and is really passionate about people being treated kindly in fic/books and in real life, and I can’t wait for her abuse post because it will be great seeing a different perspective on it.

@sarahviehmann is also hella smart and I can’t wait for everyone to hear our podcasts with her on fairy tale retellings, fanfiction, and her author talk. She is always really conscientious about how she interacts with people, which I appreciate.

@aelinsassryvergalathynius has been really sweet since the beginning of my moriel ranting days and sends me really interesting thoughts and posts and I really appreciate it.

@blxckbeak has also been around for a while (keeping in mind a while for me is a couple of months, I haven’t been in the fandom that long), and she makes awesome edits that go with my fics and leaves me lovely comments and she let’s me ask her questions about Nesta when I’m writing.

@acourtofstarsanddreams is awesome because she is Blunt af but in a hilarious, not mean way. We can also say petty shit to each other and laugh about it, and let’s be honest, we all need someone we can be petty with. Also she made my icon art of me and I will always love it.

@bkhrtn defended the hell out of me when that anon called me a bitch and that’s basically all anyone could ask for on this site, people to have your back when you need it.

@cass-ian always sends me my own posts when I seem the slightest bit upset and asks “ARE YOU OK???” which is so sweet and sorta makes me laugh bc I realize people are paying attention and maybe I’m being dramatic and ridiculous. She also has sent me and talked to me about the BEST fic ideas, and I really need to write just about all of them we have discussed.

Two of my “biggest fans” on this site (who are not included in this list already) are @study-read-repeat and @adiposesherlock and I always see you liking my posts and I really appreciate it. :)

@hollow-kingdom has been there for me, especially when I was going through the really bad part of my anxiety issues a couple of months ago, and I know my blog is “overwhelming” to her now :P but I really appreciate her caring (and also when you used to send me random anon stuff lol).

Also @kitashiwrites is an amazing writer and kind and one of the co-captains of The Good Ship Moriel, and maybe you should do a podcast with us sometime? :)

And finally, last but not least, and I saved her for last because I have ALL THE WORDS is @squaddreamcourt. I have so many brotp tags for her at this point it’s ridiculous, and tbh she combines all the things I mentioned above - she is kind and smart and a great writer and funny as hell. She likes to pretend that she is SatanTM but I know this to be objectively untrue because Satan cannot possibly have that much kindness and caring in them. If there is one person on this place I know will defend me (and people she cares about) in a second, it’s her, because she actually has a heart of gold (not like a whore), and maybe she says things to people sometimes that I told her IN CONFIDENCE but it’s totally fine bc her heart is always in the right place. Also she is incredibly insightful in ways I wouldn’t have thought of, and she has so much energy I don’t know how she does it, but this is also why I keep trying to save her from herself with these projects. I know everyone appreciates what she has done for the fandom in such a short amount of time. tl;dr she is an amazing person and I’m glad she started yelling at me on my fics on AO3.

Deconstructing Snape's "Obsessive Love"

Usually, Snape’s love for Lily is discredited with the word “obsessive,” so I wanted to examine that a bit. See, I would probably describe his feelings as obsessive, but I hesitate to use that word at all because it has been thrown around as meaning “Snape never loved Lily; he was obsessed with her.”

However, if we can manage to separate the word obsessive from its context in the Snape debate–Severus is an obsessive person. It’s unlikely he ever cared about much of anything un-obsessively, whether it was potions, (Defence Against) the Dark Arts, or Lily. This is a guy who waxed poetic about “the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes” and a million other things. Snape is…really dramatic.

The anti-Snape rhetoric tries to fit Snape’s story into a narrative that goes like this: A guy is obsessed with a girl, but he doesn’t love her. He thinks he loves her, but really, he loves the idea of her. He doesn’t actually see her as a person; he doesn’t even really know her.

And that narrative is pretty common in real life and in fiction. It’s the basis for understanding the Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope. So it’s easy for a lot of people to say that’s all Snape’s story is.

However, there’s no reason to believe that Severus did not see Lily as a person. They were best friends for about five years. I do not believe they could’ve been best friends without Severus truly knowing Lily–her likes, her dislikes, her dreams, her fears, her everything.

Yet simultaneously, Lily probably did represent an idea to him. To explain it very simplistically–the idea of someone who loved him and cared about him (and before that, the idea of a potential friend who could do magic). Eileen probably loved him, but she clearly neglected him, and his parents’ relationship was an unhealthy one, so Severus didn’t have much of a model of what healthy love would look like. If you’re starved for love and affection, you latch onto the first person who shows it to you. That could’ve been the basis of Snape’s feelings before he really got to know Lily. But he did get to know her.

He needed her more than she needed him, most likely–love was more freely available to her. He had no one else. His love was likely to be intense–maybe more intense than hers ever could’ve been. That’s what happens with an intense person like Severus. He was as fixated on his love of Lily as he was fixated on his hatred of James.

It’s unfortunate we have to spend so much time denying that Snape’s love was in any way obsessive in order to prove it was real. I really want to talk about Severus as an intense and obsessive person. Because he loved Lily as a friend, and it was genuine. And he also loved her obsessively, because that was his nature, and because his time as her friend was likely the only time he was happy. Because knowing her, appreciating her, valuing her only made that feeling more intense. It wasn’t an uncomplicated love, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t love.

Don't you want to hit ichiruki fans with a book like Jason Bourne did when they bash ichihime, ichihime edits and orihime?

Yeah.

I’m just kidding, lol.

As much as they are being rude and annoying, I would never smack them with a book. Unless that’s how you get antis to understand Bleach isn’t about a romance shounen about only Ichigo and Rukia…then I’d reconsider smacking them with all the Bleach Volumes… (Lol, kidding again).

Every-time I see an anti bashing on Orihime to make her be this “Horrible selfish girl, that has never gotten development, only thinks about Ichigo, has an ugly body with big boobs, is a relevant fail that everyone considers useless” I wonder if they were just watching the anime, reading essays with biased hate, or skipping every scene with her and only noticing what they want.

I think the countless blogs dedicated to bash her are hilarious, just because of their ugly edits, unjustified arguments, and obsession to bring down a innocent fictional character.

Lol, to see people actually like them and agree with them just makes me question how blind are they with their hate toward her to agree with crap like that.

For them bashing Ichihime, its obvious they have their opinion (even though most of their reasons are pretty stupid) . But there is a difference between ignoring the development between two characters, and instead explaining how their relationship is disgusting and gross; not to mention nothing compared to other pairings.

Nonetheless, I never see antis unless I’m using the search engine wrong through my cell or laptop. It’s much easier using #ichihime to see posts actually tagged instead of anything mentioned.

By the way who can hate the relationship between these two cute teenagers acting dorky being acquaintances to maturing into what we see now?

To bash an edit or even a fan-art, is something that I can’t understand (unless they are bashing others/a character, super low move lol). Someone put effort into making that, and it’s kind of revolting when you see someone’s hard effort be told they suck, are delusional, and etc.

I mean their way of expressing hate is unnecessary, unless they subconsciously see Ichihime as a threat or have that much anger toward the ship and fans.

Oh well what can you do?
