i don't even know the names for the rest of these

I know probably no one’s online right now but I just want to ask that if anybody knows of any nice gender-neutral names or even any names that can be shortened to something gender-neutral, I would love love LOVE if you could tell them to me because I feel like if I at least have a name I like then maybe the rest of my life might start becoming not so bad.

Someone else on tumblr pointed out that PASSENGERS might have been a more meaningful movie if it was about just THE ONE person dealing with being alone on the ship for the rest of their life.  And if, to cope, they go through and make it a point to learn everything they can about all of the other people on the ship.

And I just keep thinking about this idea.

Plagiarized fics - asking for help from the 1D fandom

Hi everyone! I’m poking my head in your door from the Haikyuu fandom to ask you guys for help. I have spoken to quite a few people in the One Direction fandom thus far and I have been overwhelmed by their kindness, support, and how fast everyone I talked to acted to help me and my friend get this sorted out.

It came to my and my best friend ellessey-writes’s attention (confusing names, sorry! I’m Esselle) this morning that many of our fics had been stolen by the Tumblr/AO3 user Fruxoo, who has since deleted her accounts.

Here are two screenshots of Fruxoo’s fics, posted in April. The first is a direct copy of my story Hunger, completed last June 2016. The second is the summary from Ellie’s story Tea and Sympathy, posted January of this year. The entire text of every fic Fruxoo stole has been copied almost exactly word for word from our fics, changing only the names and other relevant character info.

I messaged her privately and asked that she post an explanation on Tumblr, as well as replace the text of her stolen works with links to our respective stories, in order to notify any readers who enjoyed these works. Unfortunately, she didn’t respond. Now that she has taken everything down, that’s no longer possible.

It would mean the world to Ellie and I if people would help spread the word about what happened. Last year, between the two of us, we wrote 626,000 words. We poured all our energy and love (and time!) into these stories, and to have someone copy them word for word, lie to people who were kind enough to comment or send asks as if they had thought up the ideas on their own, and interact with other people in the 1D fandom based off of love for OUR writing, is devastating to us both. This was going on for at least 2.5 months.

Besides the two stories listed above, we know As Long As You’re Smiling was actually copied from ellessey-writes‘s fic The Chronicles of the Virgin Asahi. We think this is the first fic they grabbed, due to the note on the summary. Here is a masterpost of all Ellie’s works from last year, and a link to her AO3.

They also took my incubus story Dreamless and reposted it as Lilin. This fic was posted as a part of a collab for my close friend’s artwork. reallycorking drew this (VERY NSFW) art as part of a 30 day challenge, and the two of us worked together for a full month on Dreamless. Here is my fic masterpost for last year, and a link to my AO3.

I wanted to share links to the rest of our work because we don’t know how many stories she stole (it seemed like there were around 10 in total). We didn’t even have time to make a note of everything before she removed her accounts. So we don’t know what people read and might want to re-find (if there’s any interest cross-fandom).

Again, the One Direction fandom has been so incredibly supportive (Gina, Ange, phd-mama, Emmi, Lisa and everyone who was so helpful and understanding). Ellie and I started off the morning crushed, and now I have comments in my inbox on the fics that were stolen, and asks on Tumblr showing support, and it’s nearly brought me to tears. Thank you all so much. If anyone who sees this would be kind enough to get the word out there in any way (reblogs, just telling your friends who’ve read these stories, anything!!), we’d be incredibly grateful.

THANK YOU, to everyone who takes the time to read this.

Mi Amor

 Daveed Diggs x Latina!Reader

Requested by anon: Hi. It’s the anon who asked about the Latina reader here. I was wondering if you’d do like where Daveed and the reader are really good friends but Lin knows she has a crush on him and he’s teasing her about it but daveed overhears them mention him and doesn’t understand them cause they’re talking in Spanish. He asked her about it or something and then fluff or smut! I don’t know…. Your other fics are amazing so I know this one will be to die for no matter what! Gracias!! ❤❤

Warnings: Swearing and SMUTTT. A LOT OF IT idk what else you want from me ahahaha

A/N: This was SO FUN to write but Idk I’m sorry if this was so bad lol I THINK I’VE OFFICIALLY MADE THE SINNERS CLUB LOLOL OKOKOK

Paper Planes (Lin-Manuel x Reader)

Summary: Soulmate AU where if you throw a paper plane out your window it always makes its way to your soulmate. You can’t write your full name, your location, or any contact info, anything else is fair game. It’s up to fate to bring you together.

Word Count: 1,775

Warnings: Zero proofreading. It’s strictly fluff though so you’re safe here.

A/N: This was such a cute idea and also reminded me of that one Disney short. You know the one. Also, I will jump at any opportunity I can to write sappy love notes and Lin’s messy handwriting. Please don’t ask me about logistics of this, I have no idea what happens if your window is shut and your soulmate throws a plane, I’m just here to write fluff.
___________________________________

Your parents had told you the story all through your childhood. They would always weave you intricate tales at bedtime about how you might meet your soulmate. Your favorite stories always had a prince playing that role. As you got older the stories evolved from fictitious plots to questions and conversations.

You received your first letter from him at seven years old. It took you by surprise when the paper plane made of blue construction paper landed on the floor of your bedroom. You scrambled from you bed to scoop it up and inspect it. You unfolded it carefully, flipping it over.

‘ Hi! My name is Lin! ‘

You yelped as if the paper itself had spoken and ran into the living room where your mom was preoccupied with a book. She seemed to notice your panic because her eyes immediately left the pages to study your face.

“They wrote you, didn’t they?” she asked wryly with a twinkle in her eye. You squeaked out a yes, shoving the blue paper towards her. She unfolded it to see the note before chuckling. “Well, are you gonna write them back or not?”

You spent the entire night debating and when your mom came into your room to kiss you goodbye before she left for work she saw you sitting on the floor surrounded in papers.

“For them or from them?” she asked with an amused smile as she leaned against your doorway.

“For.”

Don’t Let Me Get In The Way (Steve Rogers x reader)

Requests:

1. BONNIE YAY!!!!! REQUEST TIME!!!! pls write about Steve starting to blow you off (missed events and important dates) because of Bucky & the events of civil war. My heart loves angst but please end happy if at all possible.

2. Hi, can you please write a little fluffy fic where Steve asks the reader to marry him?

Whenever anyone would ask how it came to be that you were dating Captain America, you would tell them that you fell into his arms like it was a dream, and right when their eyes would gloss over in imagination of the romance in that statement, you’d crush it with a snicker at their gullibility.  It was definitely like a dream, alright; but more like a nightmare, being chased across your apartment by some disgusting alien as it shot at you, pushing you towards the window of your tenth floor home until you crawled out onto the ledge and prepared for your own end at the mercy of Park Avenue’s asphalt.  As if it were planned, or at least by miraculous intervention, Steve was fighting his own group of alien assailants, hearing you from above just in time to turn and catch you as you jumped.

You literally fell into his life, and he loved telling the story as much as you hated to remember it.

Okay so... you said to bring more Langst prompts so... This kinda has Klance in it so plz don't hate, you don't have to put that in if you don't want to. So, Lance stays up late, he has been for quite a while. Lance cries about his insecurities so he doesn't get much sleep, sometimes none at all. It's been affecting his health and he starts having hallucinations of his family. He's usually late for training and eating. Keith gets angry and goes to scold Lance, only to find him screaming names.

I relate to this more than I should tbh

Lance washed off his facemask, not even surprised that it did nothing against the dark circles that hung beneath his eyes. He was tired. He had been for the past week? Maybe month now. He lost track.

Lance rubbed his eyes and started to get ready, only half assing his morning routine. He didn’t even register the comb through his hair, or putting his green jacket on. His mind was occupied.

Why do I keep thinking about them? It was bad enough when I couldn’t see them anymore but now I see them everywhere. Lance attempted to push his family out of his mind. He loved them to death but he knew he needed to focus and not worry the team.

-

Lance pushed the goo around his plate as he watch Allura speak, barely listening. Man am I tired.

“Lance!” Allura slightly slammed her hand down on the table, causing the boy to jump and everyone to stare at him. “You need to focus. We have to make sure training goes perfectly today since we will be losing time creating alliances the rest of the week.”

“Of course princess. Sorry I’m just really tired today.” Lance stifled a yawn.

Allura stared at him for a few more seconds before sighing. “Training deck in 15.” She glided out of the room.

-

Lance sprinted into the training deck, he knew he was late.

“Lance, you’re late!” Coran said like it was the happiest thing in the world. Did anything bother him?

“Sorry, I was….distracted.” Lance gave the team a wide grin and a forced laugh. When he saw that no one questioned him he exhaled the breath he didn’t know he was holding. Lance couldn’t tell the team the real reason he was late. He actually thought he saw his sister, ON THE CASTLE!! He saw her but no matter how fast he ran he never caught up to her.

Allura enter the training deck. “Good we’re all here. Let’s begin.

-

They were split into groups. Pidge with Hunk, Shiro with Allura, and of course Keith with Lance.

Lance seemed to be the only one struggling with hand to hand combat. He wanted to say it was because he never used he hands, however Hunk was doing just fine and he had a bigger gun than Lance.

Lance tried to give Keith a run for his money but he was tired. His head was pounding and he kept getting lightheaded. His vision would sometimes get blurry and he could barely stand at moments.

Needless to say, Lance was a very easy opponent for Keith. Keith would put him down in about 10 ticks every time. Lance could barely keep up, let alone keep standing up.

Lance could feel the annoyance radiating off Keith, he couldn’t bring himself to care. He just wanted to go to bed.

After what felt like years Allura said that they were done. Lance listen to Shiro tell him what he needed to work on and he dragged himself back to his room.

Lance barely got his armor off before he fell on his bed and passed out.

-

Keith stomped towards Lance’s room, he was already pissed from training today. Lance didn’t even try to fight him, he was like a rag doll. Now Lance missed dinner? What was up with him recently.

Keith stopped in front of Lance’s door, inhaled and knocked.

No response. Come on Lance, I’m not in the mood for games.

Keith knocked louder. Still nothing.

Keith was about to walk away, just because he was mad he still respected people’s privacy.

Keith started to turn from the door when he heard something. Was that a whimper? Keith put his ear up to the door and listened. Yeah, those are definitely whimpers…..I’m sorry Lance. Keith opened the door.

Keith stood outside the door and stared into the room. He saw Lance on his bed, thrashing around and whimpering.

Keith stared wide eyed for a moment, then he walked towards Lance, making sure the door closed behind him. He stood a few inches away from Lance, his hands almost touching him.

Lance looked horrible. He was shaking, and sweating. He was whimpering and saying names? Keith didn’t recognize any of the names. However he did recognize “Mama”.

It didn’t take Keith long to figure out that Lance was talking about his family. He couldn’t watch it anymore, Keith reluctantly reached forwards and shook Lance. “Lance!”

Lance flung his eyes opened and bolted forward nearly smacking into Keith in the process.

Lance looked at keith and scurried to the opposite side of the bed and hugged his legs. “He-hey Keith. Time for dinner?”

Keith nodded and continued to stare at Lance. “Lance is everything alright?” Keith wanted to hug him, strange right, but he decided to stay where he was.

“Yeah, of course! Just a dream.” Lance tried to laugh ot off but his voice was raw.

“Lance, that wasn’t a dream. You can talk to me.” Keith sat on the edge of the bed hoping to calm Lance down.

Lance continued to stare at Keith, his breaths were coming fast and his shirt was soaked in sweat. Keith wouldn’t judge him…right? “I miss my family.” Lance swallowed around the lump in his throat.

“Well that’s okay we all miss someone from Earth.” Lance responded by shaking his head.

“No like this is different from usual. I’m seeing them, I saw my sister in the castle. Keith I’m losing it aren’t I?” Keith stared at Lance even more.

He was hallucinating, okay.  “Lance I think you’re just tired.” Keith was trying to find and answer for Lance.

“I can’t. I only slept because of how tired I was. Everytime I sleep I see my family. They’re disappointed in them, I left Earth and didn’t tell them. I never want to make my mama cry but every time I dream, she cries.” Lance’s breathing started to pick up. “And when I don’t sleep my brain is occupied with everything I do wrong. I’m a failed pilot. I’m a failed teammate. I’m a failed friend. I can’t do anything right.” Lance fought back tears as his voice wavered.

Keith wasn’t sure what part got him but he crawled across the bed and hugged Lance as tight as he could. He slowly felt his shoulder become wet and shaky arms wrap around him.

“Lance your parents are not disappointed in you. You’re not a failure. You just need to cope and get help. There is no shame in it. You can talk to me whenever you need.”

Lance tried not to shake but he started to tremble all over as he sobbed on Keith’s shoulder. “Thank you Keith.”

-

Roughly 2 months had passed and Lance started to sleep better. He brain stopped voicing his insecurities and he saw less of his family. He trained better, and he pilots Blue better than ever. He did it because of one thing. Every night he would sleep next to a certain Red paladin and every time Lance had an issue, he was right there to help.

I am terrible sorry this took so long.

I love this idea! Also never apologize for Klance, it’s my life.

I hope you like it!!!

Thank you!

You still couldn’t believe Jae-Eun called Jimin dad. That was his first word. Yeah, he’s mumbled words here and there but never once called you mom. He normally just screamed to get your attention and that seemed to work pretty well.  The fact that Jae-Eun called Jimin dad shocked you. It was so unexpected and crazy because the two haven’t even been together much and even when they were, it was for only a couple of minutes.

Jimin felt so bad, not because Jae-Eun called him dad but because he still hasn’t called you mom. You understood, though. He was only around 7 months old and you figured his brain hasn’t quite figured everything out yet. As much as it hurt your feelings, you knew Jae-Eun would never understand, let alone do anything on purpose considering his age.

Your phone buzzed you out of your thoughts and you looked down to smile at who it was that was texting you.

The nine times Simon and Baz prank each other and the one time they don’t

Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Epilogue

April 1

Simon

I find the letter at the foot of my bed when I wake up.

Simon,

I don’t know exactly how to say this

I’ve been sitting here staring at the blank page for ten minutes

Why did you have to be the Mage’s Heir?

I wish this didn’t have to be so hard to say

Crowley, this is ridiculous

We’ve lived together all this time and

Bet you thought I hated you

I don’t hate you

I can’t even explain what I

Why did we have to be enemies?

Fuck it.

I love you Simon Snow.

Baz

He finds me outside the dining hall, and when he storms towards me I see the letter in his hand. I brace myself.

Simon

“When did you even write this?” I begin.

Baz looks taken aback.  “What does that have to do with anything?”

“And why did you have to write it today?”

“It’s April Fool’s Day, Snow,” he tells me, “or did you forget already?”

“That’s just it,” I say, my voice getting louder. “Why would you write something like this on a day where it could be a prank?”

           “For exactly that reason.”

“Well, what am I supposed to think?”

He gives me a look.  “Think whatever you want, Snow,” he shrugs, “I’ve made my move, just focus on making yours.”

I glare up at him a second longer.  His eyes are gray and deep and almost sad.

His mouth is right there, and his lips look soft like his hair.

I wonder if he’s noticed where I’m looking.

Baz

I wonder if he’ll reach up…

Or if I’ll have to reach down…

Or if I’m even brave enough…

Simon

I’m not brave enough.

I step back while I still can, before I’ve been staring at his mouth too long or before one of us closes the distance.

I wish I had some sort of parting phrase, something more eloquent than “fuck you”, but I don’t.

So I turn and walk away, feeling his eyes bore into my back, feeling that same magnetic tension I’d felt when I’d left him to cry away his own nightmares.

I wait until I’m around the corner before I start running.

Baz

Maybe a love letter is a lame April Fool’s Day prank, but when else am I supposed to tell him? When else would he take it with a grain of salt?

Except he didn’t take it with a grain of salt, even today.

I hope it makes him hate me.  I hope he burns it in front of me.  I hope he makes me burn it with my own fire.

I wish he would just break my heart and leave it at that.

Because the only thing worse than knowing he hates me is not knowing.

Simon

I could have kissed him.

           I wanted to kiss him.

           Why?

I’m outside when I run out of breath and I lean against an ivy-covered wall before pulling my phone out of my pocket and dialing Penny’s number.

           “Hello?”

           “Penny?”

           “Hey Simon, what’s up?”

I squeeze my eyes shut.  “You’ve got to help me.”

           “Why, what’s wrong?”

           “I…”

           “What?”

           “I almost kissed Baz.”

Penelope

I find Simon sitting on the ground against a wall, and the grass is wet but I join him anyway and wait for him to speak.

           “What’s wrong with me, Penny?”

I shoot him a look.  “Nothing’s wrong with you, Simon,” I assure him, “you’re just scared.”

           “Baz hates me.”

           I don’t answer.

           “And I hate him, right?”

“If you have to ask me, then you probably don’t.”

“But I must,” he insists, “I always have.”

           “Things change.”

           “Not this.”

“Where is this even coming from?” I ask.  He hands me a folded slip of paper.  A letter, and even though it’s not signed, it’s clear who wrote it.

“It was on my bed this morning.”

“You do realize this is probably a prank, right?”

“But that’s just it,” he sits forward urgently, “I can’t tell.”

“Simon,” I tell him firmly, “if he does feel this way, then what better day to tell you than on a day you might not realize it’s true?”

“But why wouldn’t he want me to realize?”

“Oh, I don’t know,” I scoff, “maybe because you’ve been mortal enemies your whole life and he’s supposed to kill you and it would be bad enough if he thought you hated him but even worse if you didn’t?”

He doesn’t respond, weighing the possibility in his mind.

           “Quick question.”

           “What?”

           “Who almost kissed whom?”

He shakes his head.  “I’m not really sure anymore.”

“Did you want to kiss him?”

It’s a long moment before he gives the slightest of nods.  “Why would I want that, Penny?”

I put a hand on his knee.  “Oh, Si,” I murmur sympathetically, “you know why.”

Baz

I only go to the room for a minute after lunch to grab a jacket, but when I get there, there’s a note on my bed.

Baz,

I love you too.

Simon

Of course I do.  How could I have doubted for a second that I did?

Baz

I avoid him for the rest of the day, spending most of it wandering the catacombs and when that gets boring, the Wavering Wood.  I climb to the top of the highest tree I can find and close my eyes, trying to remember how it felt yesterday.

I don’t know if I should be reading into the note or not, but that’s probably my own fault.  I did it to him, so he did it to me, all on the one day of the year dedicated to practical jokes.

Yet neither of us have actually said April Fool’s.

I wait as long as I can to return to our room for the night, and by then it’s dark already.  Simon doesn’t appear to have come up yet, but the window is open, so he must have been here since I found his note.

As I stare at the window, something dark and long swoops through the outside air lazily.

I venture closer, and it swings by again, but this time I see what it is.  A dragon’s tail.

Part of me wants to yank it hard and send him tumbling (his wings would save him anyway, no harm done), but I just poke my head out the window and find Simon on the roof, his tail dangling over the edge.

“What in Merlin’s name are you doing up there?”

“Turns out I like high places,” he replies without looking at me.  I should go back inside (I don’t have anything else to say), but the sky is clear tonight and the moon is hitting his curls in a new way and I could study them for hours.

“What are you looking at?” he asks when he catches me staring.

I shake myself out of my trance.  “Nothing,” I say, ducking to retreat back in.

           “You should come up.”

           “What?”

“Up here, it’s a great view.”

“I can see just fine from here, Snow.”

“Yeah, but…” he trails off, still gazing out over the grounds, “I wanted to talk to you about something.”

“You can come down if you want to talk to me.”

“Where’s the fun in that?”  He shoots me a shy smile like he’s not sure if it’s allowed. “Seriously, just get out here.”

I peer over the windowsill to the moat.  “I’ll fall.”

“No you won’t,” Simon scoffs, “I’ve seen you climb.”

           “And I fell.”

           “I’d catch you.”

He won’t look at me again but I can tell he’s not going to take no for an answer.

I look anywhere but down or at him as I scramble over the sill and up onto the roof, not taking the offered hand but not slapping it away either as I might have done yesterday.

One almost-kiss and you’d think the world was turned upside-down.

           Well, two almost-kisses.

I settle into place beside him, anchoring my feet so I won’t slide down the angled roof.  It’s really not the most comfortable position, and the night air is colder up here, but now that I’m here I can see what he was talking about.  The Wood is like a quilt draped over the land and the hills roll like waves into the distance.  “Not a bad view,” I concede.

           “Told you.”

“It would be a shame if I were to push you off the roof right now.”

           “You won’t.”

           “You sure?”

           “Yes.”

           “Why?”

           “You just won’t.”

I should, just to prove him wrong. Yesterday I might have.

           “Baz?”

           “Yes?”

“Why haven’t we teamed up before?”

I give a dark laugh.  “It might have something to do with being mortal enemies.”

           “Is that what we are?”

“Well, it’s no secret that the Old Families want me to kill you.”

           “So why haven’t you?”

           “Are you getting impatient, Snow?”

“You’ve had every opportunity, but even the times that you have legitimately tried, you’ve ended up saving me.”

“I’ll make a note to stop doing that.”

           “Please don’t.”

“I doubt we’d make a very good team, Snow,” I chuckle quietly.

He looks genuinely curious.  “Why not?”

“I think there has to be a certain level of trust in a team.”

           “I trust you.”

I raise an incredulous eyebrow at him.  “I sold you out to a goblin yesterday, and now you trust me?”

           “It seems that way.”

“Maybe that’s the reason we wouldn’t make a good team, because of your horrible decision-making skills.”

Simon just laughs.  “You weren’t actually trying to kill me, and besides, look how it turned out.”

My mind jumps straight to the almost-kiss at the top of the tree and I’m suddenly grateful for the darkness hiding my blush. “What do you mean?”

“You killing that goblin,” he practically gushes, “that was incredible!”

I shrug.  “Goblins are stupid, it wasn’t exactly difficult.”

“Exactly. Imagine if we’d teamed up years ago, the Insidious Humdrum would be long gone by now.”

“How boring our lives would be.”

“We wouldn’t have to be enemies.”

I look down at my legs.  “We’d still have to be enemies.”

           “We could be unlikely friends.”

           “No we couldn’t.”

He glances at me carefully.  “Maybe not,” he agrees after a pause.

Maybe he could be alright with friends, but I don’t know if I ever could.

Fuck the Families.  Fuck the Mage.  Fuck the roles we’ve been given and the parts we have to play.  Fuck it all.  I just want you, Simon Snow.

           “Baz?”

           “Hm?”

“Why did you have to write that letter today?”

I don’t know if I’m shivering from the cold or the question, or both.  “I’ve already told you why.”

“Why couldn’t you have written it tomorrow?”

I cast him a sideways glance.  “You know that April Fool’s Day isn’t the one designated day of the year that I’m able to lie to you, right?  Saying it any other day wouldn’t make it true.”

“If it were true,” he says slowly, “today would be the perfect day to say it without the risk of being taken seriously, right?”

           I shrug carefully.  “I suppose.”

           “Baz?”

           “What?”

He looks me right in the eye.  “Did you mean it?”

I hold his gaze.  “Why are you expecting the truth?”

           “Because I trust you.”

           “That’s right, I’d forgotten.”

           He waits expectantly.

“It doesn’t matter what I say,” I sigh, “you won’t believe me.”  It’s the grave I’ve dug myself.

           “Baz?”

I don’t answer, just meet his eyes.

“Did you ever consider,” he murmurs, “even for a moment, the possibility that your letter would mean something to me?”

           I don’t speak, I can’t.

“Or that maybe my note wasn’t a prank?”

I gulp.  “The thought crossed my mind, but it was too ridiculous to entertain.”

He shifts fractionally closer but I can already feel the energy start to crackle between us.  “It’s not that ridiculous.”

           “What are you saying?”

Simon’s eyes are dark like indigo, his hair framed by the moon behind him.  “I think…”

I can’t breathe as I wait for him to finish.

Simon

I don’t know if I can say it.  Writing it down is one thing, but saying it face-to-face, and this close…

Baz’s eyes are silver, illuminated by the moon behind me.

Baz

“Do you know why I woke you from the nightmares?” he says suddenly, and I want to slap him for changing the subject.  (And then kiss his cheek.)  (And then kiss his mouth.)

“Because I was keeping you from your beauty rest?”

“Because you were scared, and… it hurt me to see you hurting like that.”

He won’t look at me again, and I want to take his chin in my hand and make him meet my eye, but I stay still and wait.

“When you had the nightmares,” he eventually continues, “you didn’t just say no a lot.”

I already know where this is going.  “What else did I say?”

           “My name.  Simon.”

Figures.  “I was afraid of that,” I nod.

“Can I ask what you were dreaming about?”

It takes a long time for me to answer.  “I had to kill you.”

           “And did you?”

Just the thought brings tears to my eyes.

           “You don’t have to…”

“Yes.  I did.” He’s silent as I take a ragged breath. “That’s why it’s my worst nightmare. I know I’ve been told all my life that I have to kill you, but if it ever really came to it, I want to think that I’d be brave enough to refuse.  But in my nightmares, I always give in.  Sometimes you kill me at the same time, and then at least I know I won’t have to carry on living in a world without you…”

“After I woke you,” he says a minute later, his voice getting quieter and quieter, “I hated myself for what I’d done to you.  I wanted to comfort you, to hold you until you fell asleep again, but I was too afraid.  When I walked away, it was like someone was ripping a piece out of me, and then I hated myself even more.  I thought the feeling would go away, but it didn’t.”  He looks me in the eye, and he looks terrified.  “It still hasn’t.”

He’s only inches away.  There’s tears in his eyes to match mine.

“I think…” Simon moves even closer, “I think I meant what I wrote.”

My heart goes quiet, but I’ve never felt more alive.

“I know,” I whisper, “that I meant what I wrote.”

It’s taking everything in me right now not to fall against him.

I don’t miss his eyes as they flicker to my mouth and back up. When he speaks it’s less than a breath. “May I…”

“Please.”

He takes a handful of my shirt and pulls me down to him.

Simon

Baz tastes like citrus and wood smoke and I’m immediately lost in the scent.  His mouth is softer than I could have imagined and I want to be gentle, to move slowly, but I can’t stop myself from opening his mouth with mine.  I feel his sigh vibrate against my chin as I deepen the kiss and oh, it’s not enough.  I want to hear every sound he has, to explore every inch of him, to stay here forever discovering.  I know right now that I’ll never get enough.

Baz

Simon kisses me like he’s starving, like he can’t get enough, yet he’s gentle.  His mouth is slow and deep, and my hand is in his curls before I even know what I’m doing, angling his head and moving slow, like we have nothing but time.  The tears are spilling over from my eyes and I can feel the moisture of his own tears on his cheeks, but we’re both kissing through our grins, giddy and desperate for more.

Simon

Breaking away from him is like pulling the plug on life support, but he stays no more than a breath away.

“Are you shaking?” I whisper.

“It’s cold up here, Simon,” he murmurs back.  “Not everyone has an internal furnace like you apparently do.”

I grin and wrap my wings around the two of us.  “Call me that again.”

He presses a gentle kiss to my mouth.  “Simon,” he breathes, and I can’t stop myself from pulling him in again.

Baz keeps whispering my name between kisses, and I keep falling more and more in love with him.

1/? What if the humans' weird thing is having names for everyone and everything? One of my favorite alien races ever are the wraith from Stargate Atlantis, and the only ones we ever see adressed by names are the few that John Sheppard gave human names. On a few occasions John asked for the wraith's name first but never got a real answer, there's several popular theories about that but personally I think they just don't have names. They communicate tellepathically and their social structure is

2/? similar to ants and bees. It would make sense if they didn’t have names, not because individuals don’t matter - that appears to apply more to the drones than the rest - but because when communicating with each other it would make more sense to refer to one another not with a name but with a thought. like for example think of your best friend, how much information about them comes to mind in the time it would take for you to tell someone their name? If you communicated with thought you could

3/? show someone what they looked like, express how happy they make you and why, what kind of person they are, what they do for a living, what their hobbies are, what they like and dislike, all a lot faster than it would be to introduce them to someone they’ve never met. To a species like the wraith it’s easier to show who you are than take the time to say your name, they probably only speak out loud because it’s a tv show and they spend a lot of time around humans. Then we go giving them names,

4/? we name our ships, we name planets, we name cities and continents and groups of people, we ourselves usually have AT LEAST a first and last name and then it’s not uncommon to have a middle name or title or rank that is legally considered part of your name. There’s even a scene where Todd introduces another wraith to us simply as his second in command(who John later names Kenny) like they must be wondering why it’s not enough for us to just have a word for things and leave it at that.

5/5 As far as we know their queens don’t even have names, and they’re the ones in charge of their whole society. The only wraith we’ve seen that had a name before John came along was Ellia, a young queen raised in a cave by a human.

I like your theory. Yes, run with that.

Hi, I really like your prompt fills, they're amazing! I really love the prompt fill on zombies being representations of the seven deadly sins. I don't know if this is thinking too much into it but is/are there any specific person/people who specialise in dealing with packs of Envies? And who does repair work on the corral?

(Part One)

Numbers sleeps out by the Envies some nights.

 Most nights.

Okay, nearly every night. She thinks that most sane people would with people like Stella and the General in the camp. It’s not that she thinks they’d ever go after her (except for how she does). It’s just that she doesn’t have confidence they won’t get her the next time camp is attacked.

“Don’t be ridiculous,” Tia says when Numbers tells her this. She hands the girl a bag of food, that day’s rations. “They’ve been doing this way too long for that.”

Numbers doesn’t say anything. Two years ago, when this started, she’d thought people wouldn’t make mistake like that, wouldn’t hit a human instead of a zombie. In a way, she was right.

It wasn’t a mistake then and she doubts it would be one now.

“Thanks for the food,” she says, holding up the bag.

“No fire tonight,” Tia warns. “I don’t like how many Sloths have been around lately.”

Numbers casts an uneasy look at the horizon. Their camp is on a small hill which leads down to a flood plain. She can see the ruins of a city a mile or two away, but between here and there are too many holes, too much foliage, too much coverage for zombies.

“’Course,” Tia says, too nonchalant, “you could have a hot meal if you came to stay in the camp. Get to know everyone.”

Numbers is already shaking her head. She’s the newest member to the camp, the youngest to boot, and she likes the anonymity that gives her. She’s pretty sure Stella doesn’t even know her name.

Tia sighs, used to losing this particular battle. “Well, you know the knock. It baffles me that you’d feel more comfortable out here next to them though.”

Numbers looks where Tia gestures though she already knows what she’s pointing at. Numbers has just put a new batch of Envies in the corral and they’re getting to know the older ones, bumping into each other as they wander around aimlessly. Every now and then, they almost scent her and Tia and stop, those with noses letting their nostrils flare. Then they go right back to meandering, what’s left of their minds forgetting the distraction as soon as the wind snatches the scent away.

“Envies are predictable,” Numbers says because she likes Tia. She rustles in the bag of food, checking out her supplies. “People aren’t.”

amanda, if this isn't your time i don't know what is. please give us some sheriff/deputy smut. in your hot, detailed writing

this is me, ignoring my responsibilities, in favor of hot desk sex and bants

speculation and spoilers abound, obvs.

“Not much of a honeymoon,” Emma said between kisses, roughly shoving his leather jacket down his arms.

“And what, pray tell, is a honeymoon?” Killian asked, his hand busily undoing the button of her jeans.

She walked him back until his thighs hit the desk, then pushed him to sit on top of whatever files she’d left scattered on its surface; digitizing the town’s criminal records was going slowly, hampered not only by the usual revolving door of monsters and dwarven antics, but also by the fact that having Killian in the station with her put quite the damper on any desire to do anything but fuck him senseless..

Her husband was extremely distracting.

“A honeymoon,” she said, pausing long enough to strip her shirt off and toss it somewhere towards his desk, “is a vacation for newlyweds. A vacation primarily geared towards having lots and lots of sex.”

Killian hummed, and watched with interest as she unclasped her bra and draped it over one of the lamps. He probably already knew what it was, but one night and several shots of rum had led to him confessing that he liked the way she explained things. “Ah, so a bridal tour without all the pesky need to visit those unable to attend the wedding.”

“Screw them, they can send something off the registry. If we had one. I bet mom made us one.”

“I hated you,” Laurent says, tracing the scars with his fingertips.

Damen starts, then goes still under Laurent’s touch. “I know,” he says after a long moment, his voice slow and rough.

Damen tends to doze off after sex, in the interval between his climax and Laurent returning to their bed, molding himself against Damen’s warm pliant body. Maybe he’d already been asleep.

Maybe Laurent should’ve kept his mouth shut.

“I hated you so badly,” he says. “I’d been hating you so badly for so long. I couldn’t—”

Damen doesn’t move. He stays exactly where he is, curled up on his side with his back to Laurent. Head bent forward, resting on his hands. The curve of his neck looks both appealing and achingly vulnerable. Laurent wants to touch it, wants to kiss it. Wants to cover it with his mouth and his hands to shield it from the world.

“I fixated on you,” Laurent says. He doesn’t want to say these words. He needs to say these words. He’s been holding them inside for too long. They’ve been growing larger in the space between them, even if Damen hasn’t noticed. “People die in war, in battle. In honest combat. I must’ve known, on some level, that it was foolish to hold you—you personally—responsible, but I did. It was easier, blaming you.”

Damianos, prince-killer. The image of his face forever etched into Laurent’s memory. The whisper of his name. All those years Laurent had carried it with him, a maddening undercurrent to his pulse. Damianos, prince-killer. Damianos, who had slain the man Laurent loved more than anyone.

“And then they brought you in front of me,” Laurent says, “trapped, chained, forced down onto your knees, utterly unable to make sense of what was happening to you. Refusing to believe it.”

The way Laurent had felt, after Auguste’s death.

Damianos, prince-killer, who had unwittingly removed the last obstacle standing between Laurent and his uncle.

Damen is breathing hard, Laurent realizes. Curled up on his side, holding still, taking deep shuddering breaths that make his back tremble under Laurent’s hand.

Laurent should’ve kept his mouth shut, but it’s too late now.

“I hated you for so long,” Laurent says, as his fingertips find a thick, ragged line of scar tissue that runs diagonally down one of Damen’s shoulder blades. The lash must’ve cut especially deep here. Too deep for Paschal’s healing salves to assuage it. “If I hadn’t—”

I would never have been able to forgive you.

I would never have been able to forgive myself for forgiving you.

“I had to,” he says, “I’m sorry,” and he leans down to press his lips to the scar, feels Damen shudder under him.

Mischievous Hugs, touken fanfic

Summary: The Aogiri kids share an enjoyable afternoon playing with Touka and Kaneki at the park, until one of the kids decides to give them a punishment.

Rating: Cute, fluffy! | Words: 2,612 words | If you like it, please reblog!

A/N: what a shitty title oh my god hello everyone! I made a post asking to vote three touken prompts that I was planning to write this week. Surprisingly, the aogiri+touken kids was the winner! so here it is. It’s a bit short, I was planning to write it as a headcanon instead but it turned out to be a bit longer, I was running out of ideas and I’m not sure if this is good enough, but it was fun to write anyway.

thank you all for voting the fic and don’t worry if the one you wanted didn’t win, i will be writing those very soon! excuse any grammar mistakes&enjoy! <3

Preview:

“You have to hug Onii-chan for ten seconds!”

Kaneki coughs, touching the back of his head.

“W-What?”

One of the boys drags the girl by the arm, trying to stop her.

“I told you this was a bad id—”

“You have to hug!” she ignores her friend and walks towards Touka, pushing her from the back against Kaneki.

“A-Ah! Wait!”

an analytic approach to proving the nikiforov theorem

so a little while back i was briefly contemplating the mathematicians au of yuri on ice (why), and today it came back with a vengeance and hit me in the face. believe me, i deeply regret all the life choices that have led me to this place.

  • victor nikiforov is a rising star in russian mathematics, particularly known for his off-beat approach to familiar problems and a certain elegance that’s unmistakable. at sixteen he gets invited to a young mathematicians conference in sofia, where he gives a talk about certain properties of the elliptic curve.
  • some weeks later, yuuko, who’s been sharing little puzzles and problems with yuuri for as long as he can remember, finds him with a handful of papers printed from arxiv and says, “look.”
  • it’s the first time yuuri looks at a chain of logic, ruthlessly solid from beginning to end, and feels that certainty all the way through.
  • yuuri presses his fingers to the “victor nikiforov” printed primly under the title and thinks, i want to solve a problem with him. one day.

Jinsik (M)

“Do you know what kind of cuisine we make here at Eat Jin?” Jin slowly paces back in forth in front of you, his arms crossed, and a serious expression on his face.“Our cuisine is heavily influenced by French and Italian, but we use many flavors that are prevalent in Hansik.”

Your eyes sweep the expanse of his kitchen. “It’s like your own twist on Hansik. Jin’s Hansik, or Jinsik, if you will.”

“Jinsik? I like it. You know I’m a sucker for puns.” He lets out a hearty chuckle.

You stand in front the the building’s brick facade, resume in hand, steeling yourself for what you’re about to do. It’s cold out. Though it’s late February and the promises of spring are just a few weeks away, it still feels like the dead of winter. You can see your breath as you try to steady it. The snow had stopped falling last week, but the cold that it brought in still lingers. It’s dark out. Except for the dim yellow glow of the street lamp above you, and the light streaming from inside of the window that you’re staring into. It has been a while since you’ve experienced this kind of frigidity, and even longer since you were last in Seoul.

You spent the last three years travelling all around Europe, learning the cuisine of the cultures there, adding to your culinary arsenal.  However, eventually homesickness got the better of you, and you found yourself back home in Seoul, where your love of food all began.

You stand there shivering beneath the wooden sign that perches above the door. Eat Jin, it reads. The finest restaurant in the country, owned by the best chef on this side of the Pacific. The crowd is pretty light for a Friday night, and you’re thankful. You gotta do this Y/N, you say to yourself. Now go in there before you change your mind. You swing the door open and step inside, suddenly enveloped by warmth.
