Yuzu's profile on ISU page says that he trains 14 hours a week. Do you think it's true? I can't really believe it. He is crazy enough to practice even at galas. I checked other skaters' training time and most of them train 20 hours or more.

I wish I could be at TCC to help you and give a certain answer here!

To be honest, your guess is good as mine. I think 14 hours/week may (MAY) an average of on-ice training only. Or maybe it’s still from his 2 hours a day regime of Sendai days. ISU is that quick into updating infos.

You need to trust me on this - because I don’t remember where I did read it - but I’m pretty sure he once said he knows he doesn’t/can’t train as much as others, so he tries to make out the most of it.

For sure when he was at Sendai his training time (on ice and off ice) was severly limited. For sure his asthma may have consequences on his training time too.

There was an old interview from when he moved to Toronto in 2012 in which he said his training time was then around 5/6 hrs a day, twice the time he could train in Sendai (it didn’t specify if it was on-ice or on-ice + off-ice, tho. I assume it was the latter, tho)

The most recent interview in which something about it was written - that I could fine anyway - is this one from earlier this autumn (translation credit to SuzyQ):

“He damaged his left foot instep before the Nationals in December last year, and he did not skate for two months after the Worlds end March - April this year. It was the first time for him not skating for such a long time. It was nearly autumn when he was allowed to do one quad jump a day.

Besides this, he damaged his right ankle and left knee, so that he could not use his body fully. He suffered an array of health problems, and caught a cold this autumn. His practice time is less than 2 hours a day, and 5 days a week at most. He has to reduce his amount of training comparing to other skaters.

Hanyu is aware “Quality over time for training” and “It is not easy to acquire stamina.” The biggest enemy for him to win the second Olympics may be injuries. This will be the Olympic pre-season for him fighting against that enemy.”

But 2 hrs a day x 5 days a week is clearly on the lower spectrum and due to him still recovering from all post-2016 season ordeal.

(Bonus Gif I don’t remember where I did find it of TCC Yuzu’s training. Just ‘cause)

Day 2 → Lyrics / Quotes : TALK

Oh brother I can't, I can't get through
I've been trying hard to reach you 'cause I don't know what to do
Oh brother I can't believe it's true
I'm so scared about the future and I wanna talk to you
Oh I wanna talk to you

I’ve missed you, Clara Oswald.
