Quick Ayano Recap

Since it looks that in the next chapter we’ll have a Snake of Clearing Eyes (Kurobiya) / Ayano confrontation, I wanted to do, as it’s stated in the title, quick Ayano recap. Althogh it won’t be a recap of what she’s been doing up to now, but rather of what she’s been doing that we didn’t see (it’ll make sense later in the post). I mostly just want to point out/remind some things and occasionally ask some questions.

The first time Ayano is mentioned in the new route (except for Shintaro’s dream) is actually way back in the Chapter 19 (Heat Haze Days II):

Back then we just naturally assumped Hiyori is talking about Kenjirou because that’s how it happened in other routes and we didn’t know how different this one’s gonna be just yet. But now we know that Kenjirou isn’t alive here, so the only person she could’ve been talking about is Ayano. (Also, before I assumed that Hiyori made disheartened face bc she wanted to spend more time with Momo, but now I wonder if it has anything to do with Ayano?)

But that’s not all of the persons that Ayano invited to her house! As we see in Konoha’s flashback later…

Well, the frame alone may not say much, but just like in the other routes Konoha greets Hiyori and Hibiya to Tateyamas houshold here he does the same… only now we know the only one living there is Ayano. And well… Ayano even said it herself:

And now is the point where I will start making questions. For the beginning what caught the tiny fraction of my attention which is the plural form of “roommates”. I know that Konoha + Hiyori + Hibiya would already make it for that plural form, but considering that Hibiya and Ayano hasn’t met before he got his powers, it’s safe to assume that Hiyori and Ayano hasn’t met yet which in turn is kinda safe to assume that they haven’t even spend a night in her house… Which would make it kinda weird to call them “roommates”.

Of course it’s still possible that Ayano met with Hiyori when Hibiya was asleep or something and I’m not trying to say that there is some misterious person for us yet to met that would be in any way significant to the story… All I wonder about is if Ayano was just inviting random people of the streets to her house lol (this girl was made for family life after all, not loneliness, at least not outside the Daze).

But it all also rises another question to me- could there be a reason to why Ayano is gathering people other than loneliness or will to help? Well to answer simply- yeah, it could, there always is some possibility like with everything, but if that’s really how it is is a whole different story.

And from the beginning I want to emphasize that I don’t think Ayano has any sinister intentions. In the end I think that, basing on Ayano’s reaction, Kano already could guess Ayano’s goal pretty well

But the problem with Ayano is that we don’t know what she knows, we just know that she knows much, which makes it hard to tell what she is planning (obviously her siblings’ happines most of all, but by what measures).

So far we know that Ayano saw in the Daze: 1. Snake’s plan to kill everyone (with “no full details”) 2. Azami’s memories including who entered the Daze and gained powers (although that one seems to not that clearly)

And for now it’s hard to tell if she remembers everyone that escaped the Daze or just the ones that did it before Ayano’s death in this route (probably depends on if Azami has memories from different routes).

In the end I think that in this route Ayano has a very similar role to Kenjirou, at least story-wise. Aside from the fact that she basically took his place, in the end she did help the Snake of Clearing Eyes to gather all other ability holders around Mary, even though maybe unintentionally or without bad intentions (well, not that Kenjirou had any).

And on the final note something that maybe doesn’t really mean anything and can be just a matter of translation, but that is still a pretty interesting comparison in my opinion.

When Kuroha confronted Dan last time, he said to Kano this:

But when Kurobiya meet Ayano in the last chapter he said to her:

“It’s been a while, Favoring Eyes.”

I’m bored so here’s some general tv production stuff. I’ve been wanting to post these concepts in a meta but decided to give them mostly their own post.

We’ll round the ratio for the hourly screentime to 1 even though most network TV dramas are 42 minutes. Producers of tv networks usually like a lot of coverage and shot variety so there’s more control and they can adjust timing. When I took film/tv production classes in 2012 or so, I was taught that networks budget about 18-20 hours of footage to 1 hour(rounded) of screen time. Looking around now, that seems to still be about right from what I could find. If anything, it might be more footage because pretty much everyone uses digital now and digital is cheaper than film by a lot. I’ve heard of 40:1 but I don’t think that’s normal. It is a thing though.

Typical projected filming with actors is about 12-16 hours a day for tv. I don’t know what the schedule is for all tv, but SPN apparently films for 8 or so days an episode.

Below are the 6 cardinal rules of editing and how much each one is supposed to matter in the cutting room. These were taught to me in school using the book: In the Blink of an Eye by Walter Murch. The first 3 are pretty obvious, the last 3 are more technical:

Your headcanons on widow are very interesting, but confusing for me. I thought widow was amelie? Didn't they just supress her personality and change her? I didn't think they were 2 different entities necessarily, though it does psychologically make sense. Another question I have is, why is Amelie the vengeful and angry one? Wouldn't she feel guilty for her body becoming a murderer? And how does widow take away her pain? I thought she'd hate "her" for taking away her autonomy?

Thanks for the questions! I know all of the information I’ve shared is kind of scattered through many posts, so here’s some new/ repeating thoughts.

As always I’ll stress that these are headcanons and not reflective of official info and you absolutely do not have to agree with them.

What do you think about Satsuki entrusting Ryuuko with Bakuzan at the end of the Raid trip? She didn't know Ryuuko was just going to hand it back to her right then and there, and she needed Bakuzan to enact vengeance upon Ragyou during the Great Sports and Culture Festival. Do you see it as Satsuki finally acknowledging Ryuuko as an equal (and not at the moment when she confessed her shortcomings on the Naked Sol) and entrusting Ryuuko in coming to her aid later? (1/2)

That is, she gives Ryuuko her sword, creating an unspoken honorable bond between them. From what she knows, only life fibers can kill life fibers, and Bakuzan is currently the only life fiber weapon she has besides Junketsu, which showed a very limited range of transformative use as a lance. Did she expect Ryuuko to hand back Bakuzan and fight beside her as equals once she backstabbed Ragyou? Or for Ryuuko to attack Ragyou and Satsuki backstabs her (Ragyou) while she was distracted? (2/2)

Satsuki: As long as there is breath left in me, Satsuki Kiryuin has a chance at victory!

The way I see it, Satsuki is a character who has devoted her entire life to stopping Ragyo—and this shows. Satsuki’s plans have none of the impulsive, spur-of-the-moment, let’s-see-how-reckless-we-can-be qualities that her sister’s do, because unlike Ryuko, Satsuki is immensely thoughtful and methodical, and she takes care to consider every possibility.

And it is good to be well-prepared, of course, but Satsuki takes her strategizing to such an extreme that it makes her cold. While Ryuko is ultimately able to fight Satsuki to a draw at the end of the Raid Trip because she puts her complete and utter faith in Senketsu—even without having a clue about what he intends to do!—prior to the reveal that Ryuko is her sister, I struggle to see Satsuki make a similar choice. There is nothing sensible about wholeheartedly trusting someone as Ryuko does, and up until Satsuki’s change of heart later in the series, her priority is to behave in ways that make sense to reach her objective—even if making sense can be harsh, detached, distancing, and, as she puts it herself, even if it makes her a villain.

So, when it comes to relying on and believing in others, Satsuki is highly lacking—in fact, it’s her greatest flaw, and what she herself acknowledges as her greatest flaw in her confession on the Naked Sol in episode 22. While she certainly expects people to help her in her goals, Satsuki is careful to never particularly count on it at first, because to count on somebody else would be to trust them… and that’s dangerous. Unknown. Illogical. Reckless.

Satsuki: If you [Ryuko] won’t like my way, I will fight you afterward.

And while Satsuki’s hesitance to trust can be seen in how she treats her Elite Four (and particularly Uzu, who blinds himself due to her horrible manipulation), this quality is probably most obvious and overt in her behavior towards Ryuko. Not only is it her poor treatment of Ryuko that pushes Satsuki to reconsider her actions, but Satsuki also blatantly never counts on Ryuko to fight for her cause, which she even notes directly: if Ryuko doesn’t want to help, Satsuki’ll just fight her, too. Satsuki may urge Ryuko to be on her side because she acknowledges that Ryuko’s aid would be useful, but she never, ever lets herself especially rely on Ryuko as an ally—well, before her big realization, anyway!

Satsuki: I shall leave Bakuzan in your [Ryuko’s] care. To mark today’s battle.

Ryuko (tossing Bakuzan back to Satsuki): Kiryuin.

Satsuki: What?

So, when Satsuki entrusts Ryuko with Bakuzan at the end of the Raid Trip (episode 15), I would argue that Satsuki is absolutely not holding out on the hope that Ryuko would use the sword to help her out later. She’d like Ryuko to lend a hand, but she’s not going to count on it.

Satsuki’s inability to trust Ryuko at this point is only furthered by her shocked reaction when Ryuko tosses Bakuzan back to her. The return is something Satsuki absolutely did not expect from Ryuko, because doing so is a sign of trust—exactly what Satsuki can’t do. The English dub especially pushes this idea, with Ryuko justifying her action by saying, “You seriously think I don’t trust you?”

But what’s interesting about this scene is how, well, nonsensically Satsuki behaves. Here I’ve been yapping about how sensible Satsuki is, but there’s really nothing sensible about leaving your weapon with your enemy—and definitely not when, as you pointed out, that weapon is pretty crucial to your goals!

While I wouldn’t say that Satsuki sees Ryuko as an equal yet (as Satsuki still doesn’t trust her), I would say that the act of giving up Bakuzan is a sign of honor and respect. Satsuki may be manipulative, deceitful, and tyrannical at this point in the story, but she won’t play dirty—even if it makes things a whole heck of a lot harder on herself. No matter what, Satsuki will be true to her word, and more than that, she’ll treat her “enemies” humanely.

And while I don’t think Satsuki giving Ryuko Bakuzan totally destroys her plans—remember, she has some Bakuzan toenails, so she clearly considered that she’d lose her sword along the way, and as pictured at the top of this post, she’ll do whatever it takes to stop Ragyo as long as she still lives—this moment at the end of the Raid Trip is a good one for her character because it emphasizes that Satsuki is not her mother.

Though Satsuki utilizes similar methods as Ragyo to get what she wants, Ragyo would never display the kind of respect and honor that Satsuki does here. All Ragyo cares about is her own goal, and while Satsuki may even think she’s the same, she’s not. Satsuki has humanity, she cares about human life, and as she shows later, she’s willing to change—and willing to embrace the nonsensical that she would once only dare show shades of.

Tv anon. Beautiful fun fact: for years rumors said Lucy Hale didn't get along with her PPL castmates cause she barely was in picture with the girls and she spent more time promoting her music and uploading photos with old friends (sounds familiar right?) They never clear this up and just said Lucy was busy with her music career. After all this years, the girls hate her so much that they even got matching tattoos lol... One more day in the office, kids.

I’ve missed you!!! I don’t follow the PLL cast tbh so I had no idea about that (I only knew about the tattoos), what surprise. Certainly a lovely fun fact, too familiar lol. I did a small research after reading this, here it is:

Lucy Hale x PLL cast feud rumours

Ashley Benson (castmate) put rumours to rest

The situation slightly more detailed…

This is them getting matching tattoos

A recent interview where they talk about the tattoos & Lucy says: “We actually like each other enough to get tattoos together” lol

Speaking about feud rumours between women, LM was a victim too a little ago but Jesy spoke on them immediately.

While all this, I found a brilliant article that everyone needs to read.

What celebrity feuds tells about how women are perceived

Here are some of my favourite parts (NOTE: is not the full article)

Susan Sarandon took to Twitter over the weekend to quash an old rumour that she’d already debunked nearly two decades ago. When she co-starred with Julia Roberts in the weepy 1998 drama Stepmom, there was chatter that the two women hated each other. So ahead of the movie’s release, the actresses addressed the rumours in Entertainment Weekly.

Now Sarandon is revisiting the rumours because they echo her FX series Feud. In the show, she plays Bette Davis to Jessica Lange’s Joan Crawford. The story takes place during the contentious filming of 1962’s What Ever Happened to Baby Jane. The actresses didn’t hide their antipathy for one another, but Ryan Murphy’s series shows that the people around them fuelled the animosity, trying to gin up controversy to get moviegoers to buy tickets. It worked.

According to Sarandon, her allegedly sour relationship with Roberts came from a similar place.

“Found out it was my PR person creating rumours,” Sarandon tweeted.

Some publicists are only bolstering the stereotypes about how women work together. Sarandon also mentioned that the No. 1 question she gets from the media is whether she and Lange get along, which is pretty shocking. Do journalists really think that female co-stars are inclined to fight?

Apparently. That sounds a lot like a recent interview with Jessica Chastain, who had a similar grievance. When she was filming The Help, she told Vanity Fair, “so many of the questions I was getting from the press was about fighting on set - ‘Was it tough to be on set with all those girls?' “

If women cat-fighting on set sells tickets, it apparently doesn’t work that way with men and women.

The stars are strenuously trying to prove there’s no bad blood between them - and who would doubt them? But if they were both women, could they get away with that so easily?

With male co-stars, the media tends to play up the bromance to a ridiculous degree.

Catfight on the Set! Why a Juicy Feud Among Women Remains an Irresistible Hollywood Story

Some of my fav parts (NOTE: It’s not the full article either)

But what hasn’t changed a whit is the unmistakable tendency to pit women against each other—however loosely based in fact.

However, we’re not going to say that women don’t feud or that they don’t feud more than men—although the interest in lady feuds is so out-sized, who knows how many man feuds we’ve missed out on? And with regard to how much men don’t get along with each other, women tend to spar more emotionally, purposefully and/or ostentatiously—therefore word might get around more when it does happen.

Every Hollywood set, every office, every classroom, every business opportunity, every voting booth is a place that had to evolve from its beginnings as being the domain of men. Women worked their way into places of power eventually but painstakingly, so the idea that there were fewer opportunities for women and therefore a greater need to elbow each other out of the way was an unfortunate mythos that took hold eons ago.

As Ryan Murphy pointed out to E! News just last month, when asked about the infamous feud rumors regarding Lea Michele and Naya Rivera on Glee: "There were many boys on our show that didn’t get along. And you never hear about that. You never hear about that in our culture.”

But nothing burns hot for years at a time like the idea of a couple of famous women seething and furiously glancing over their shoulders behind the scenes.

So there it is kids… points that I remarked on my last post about sexism in the industry & media.

Thanks for coming through with the fun fact, TV anon. Hope to hear more from you soon.

P.S. I’m going to sleep, I’ll try to check my inbox tomorrow. Have a good night everyone.

What is it with Jonerys folks being so adamant that Jon has to love to fuck just to push the agenda he must love Dany in e7 if they do it? It was never shown that way. He didn't do Ros coz of bastard thing, didn't do Mel coz of Stannis, her being pushy and creepy and a stranger, and Ygritte just having died like 2 days before so still in mourning, He did Ygritte before he fell in love. And rezzed Jon has a different outlook on life, totally plausible for him to fuck a hot girl [1/2]

The feels attracted to, but doesn’t have to love, the girl that he bonded with over a dead beast right before he goes and risks his life for the millionth time with the knowledge that nothing awaits him after death. Gives one a different perspective on aspects of life like sex and love. Whether there’s love or not this season won’t be shown or stated. Even Lads wasn’t sure. [2/2]

To follow-up. And if she tells him she can’t have kids, he won’t have that hindrance in the way so he can fuck her without being concerned about fathering a bastard.

Hello anon,

Fans of Jonerys aren’t adamant that Jon must act one way or another; we expect that he will act within character. Nothing bothers me more than when a character acts out of character when they do or say things their book counterpart (or if it’s an on screen character) behaves outside his or hers established personality. That’s all I ask for, I don’t always get it but for the most part, the Game of Thrones characters have been true to the establish show canon. They do vary to a degree from their book counterparts but I’ve come to terms with that.

You bring up Ros but you failed to mention that she was a prostitute and as such if Jon had sex with her there will be no name to pass on but his own. Thus, he doesn’t want to be with her and make a bastard. But of course, as you so clearly noted he falls in love with Ygritte and the idea that he can father a bastard with her barely crosses his mind and it certainly doesn’t stop him from continuing his relationship with her. So the apprehension to father a bastard is not as important to Jon when he has feelings for the person.

With Mel it’s clear that he is still in love with Ygritte, he mentions Stannis but you can tell it’s because he doesn’t want to talk about Ygritte. That scene was there for a reason, they are establishing a character trait and that is that Jon won’t just have sex with anyone. If he’s going to be with someone it’s because he feels strongly about them. And his behavior post resurrection has not been dramatically altered, there is a change to him but not to the extent that he’s set aside his ideals, which we can clearly see by his continual need to protect others.

As for Dany telling Jon that she’s barren and therefore giving Jon a “free pass” kinda misses the point of his character. Even with the possibility of fathering a bastard, Jon continued his relationship with Ygritte, so that doesn’t bother him so much. But the idea of being with someone he has no feeling for was not really enticing to him. This is not even taking into consideration that even if Dany could have a child, the child wouldn’t be a bastard. Dany is a queen in her own right (in Essos) and a princess by birth, as the last of her House, her family name would supersede almost anyone else’s.  It would be expected that any child Dany has from a marriage would carry on the Targaryen name. And if you have any doubts about this I’ll remind you that both the Starks and the Lannisters are descendants from a matrilineal line. That is, that at some point in their history there was no male heir and a female heir carried on the name through a son. Furthermore, as King Jon could potentially legitimize himself and he could certainly legitimize a child of his if he so wished. I mean, who’s to stop him from doing so?

So the fact that Dany believes she’s barren is beside the point. Maybe it makes Jon feel better to a degree but it’s certainly wouldn’t be a driving force in Jon deciding to pursue a sexual relationship with Dany. I always ask anon who come to me with opinions which are not supported by the books or the show to think of the narrative that has been set in place. Why would the writers bother to develop a relationship between Jon and Dany across five episodes if they weren’t developing a deeper connection than just casual sex? For that they could have had them meet in one episode have them flirt, then the next episode have them flirt some more and by the end of the episode, they could be having sex. No one would question that it’s just the two of them giving in to sexual attraction. But according to the leaks, this is not what we will see.

We will see a relationship that will start off a bit cold and from there it will warm up bit by bit. Then we’ll see them bond over the events of the Wight Hunt, with a connection developing between the two which if, once again, the leaks are to be believed, will be very intimate. Finally, this will all culminate in Jon not being able to help himself and finally giving in to his feelings and attraction for the most beautiful/kickass/amazing woman in the world and the audience will think to themselves, what took him so long or who can blame him.

The answer, no one can blame him.

TTFN

Little notice (with a lot of spoilers)

I just realised that yesterday I’ve been flooding my dash “a bit” with stuff about Rika and V. So I need to do it again today =D (srsly sorry if it was a bit too much) As you saw I’m on the unpopular opinion boat with my support for Rika and my grudge against V. I think it will be useful to make myself clear about something. I don’t think that Rika did nothing and is an angel. I don’t think that V is an evil mastermind who did the worst thing.

I’m just tired to see V pictured as a pure angel who is so perfect and did nothing or almost nothing bad (which is wrong) and how he is only a victim.
And Rika as just a bitch/snake.

Important note: snake are cute creature even if in reality I’ll be afraid of them. But still. Stop using them as an insult.

I just regret that because V is put in contrast with a character with major issues, his own issue are being reduced or even totally forgotten.

V is manipulative. Or at least I feel like he was before Rika snapped. The way he chose Jaehee resume for Jumin because she seemed desperate enough (I think he said something like “what about this one, she doesn’t seem ambitious” ). The way he totally ignore the fear of Rika with her therapist (I mean I’m no expert but if what she remember of her seance was “get over it” and “I’m actually a monster” I’m not surprised that she didn’t want to continue). The way he say that he find her pain beautiful. I mean he literally said that

Rika: I feel like you think my pain is beautiful.
V: You’re right everything about you is beautiful even the pain.

Don’t tell me you read that without feeling he was some sort of psycho??? Who say that to comfort someone. Who?
No shoot she lost her mind with someone who can think that way (even more since before meeting him she already had issues). Rika said after, that he was weird because he liked to observe, mediate( at least a good point for him, but does it matter with everything else?), and find her state fascinating. And then asked if he didn’t feel twisted too. Later V even say that as long Rika still love him she can destroy herself all she want. V has a problem and it’s not only because he lied to all his friend to protect someone who became a threat to literally anyone.
I also read recently that V knew nothing about Saeran that it’s Rika who did wrong. Just a second. Yes Rika became at this point a scary monster, she wanted a child to be drugged and used in her selfish plan. And it is horrible and unforgivable.
But another problem is that as far as I know Saeyoung counted on both V and Rika to protect Saeran. So here’s the problem: why did V just knew nothing??? He was the one who talked with Saeyoung, the one who promise to take care of him. So why he wasn’t more interest about his whereabout? Now from some chat, we can see that he guessed that something was wrong and it’s worse! He knew that his girlfriend was up to something bad but did nothing. Then he knew that his girlfriend was up to something bad with a kid by her side.

I think that V is aware of what he did wrong afterwards and he feel really guilty about it. And I think that his selfless side became overtaking after that (leading to the V we know). But. When it was obvious that the action of Rika involved more than him and her (and I’m not even mentioning the other people in the cult) he should have, I don’t know, call the autority ? or at least call the childhood friend that have access to the best doctor in the world if he wanted to still hide Rika?

V is not an angel. When we “met” him(when we end up in the RFA) he feel guilty and he is working on himself and he is trying to fix his mistake. And then proceed to failed the last. But I don’t think he is just a sweetie. In that sense, I’m really expecting his route, to understand better this character.

And I’ll be short about Rika because I must admit there’s not a lot of positive thing
(reminder: her actual parent rejected her, her new parents rejected her, she meet a lover who accept her as she is *hope :D* and then tell her that he likes to see her in pain *nope D:*. She suffers from mental illness and even if “you share [insert depression and/or anxiety and/or another problem you deduce from her actions here] with her and still didn’t start a cult” 1- as far as I know two people can have the same mental illness and be affected in different way 2- she stayed 3 weeks in therapy and I don’t think it was enough to make a diagnosis about all she suffered of. And if it is usually enough to do so: again she had a bad therapist.)

At the end of the secret ending 1, the last thing that we heard about Rika was an heartbreaking scream. Before that I was fine with a Rika being killed (at this moment I hated her like the fandom) or ending up in jail. From here you can say it’s not really an argument, but I felt like the scream that we heard was from the girl who wanted to get help, who wanted to get better and just realised she became the thing she was scared of the most.

And from this moment. She can’t talk. In the game they say she just don’t talk but she seemed to be almost entirely disconnect to reality. And people seemed to want to punish that. If she was conscious okay but she seemed to be a walking vegetable. Why do you want to put in jail someone like that? What’s the purpose? She already seemed trapped in her mind!

In the beginning of the relationship between V and Rika, actually V was the one being manipulative but then Rika started to do it too and did it worse than him. And it’s there that V became nicer (and a victim too) and Rika became a monster.

You say the script is already planned out but how come how come Jeremy talks about the scripts changing?? And steven and josh talk about improvised lines?

I’m gonna throw in my two cents first. Yes, scripts can change, but not drastically. Like Jeremy not being able to talk Spanish in a good enough accent? But hey, guess what? That wasn’t even in season 1 or 2 which means it’s most likely in season 3 WHICH btw is most likely in production by now and especially waaay before now, especially if they plan to do a June release (to correlate with their initial release. Typcally shows have their Summer release: June. And their fall/winter release: January and then keep with that release time frame for following season. June, January, June, January, etc). And yes, there’s room for line improvising, scripts aren’t set in stone. Just like how Steven likes to record multiple versions of a line. That’s one version of improvising. Improvising doesn’t always mean changing the line completely.

But anyway, I had a friend answer this question for me. They’re a film graduate so trust me when I say this: they literally know what they’re talking about. Their response:

From the moment you pitch a pilot to a network, you have what’s called your “bible” for your show. [the vld team calling it the Voltron Bible isn’t just a joke; that’s literally the industry term]. Inside that bible is everything you would need to pitch your entire show and get it on the air. Literally everything a network needs to see in order to 100% accept or deny a show at that pitch meeting. Full character descriptions, early art mock-ups, [in the case of voltron] alien planet descriptions and initial alien designs, setting descriptions, etc. What’s also included here is a breakdown by season of the overarching plotlines. First season usually has full episode descriptions, episode-by-episode, of what happens in each. Think like a wikipedia “list of episodes” description but two or three paragraphs instead of a few sentences. Subsequent seasons have an overall rundown of what happens for the full season —typically 4-5 paragraphs— although if you’re doing a short run they may just go ahead and do full ep descriptions for each. [Side note: A standard season is 26 episodes. A standard run is 3-5 seasons.] Voltron is currently gunning for five, which means they’ve already got their overarching plotlines planned for a minimum of five seasons.] Also included in this bible is the full script for your pilot episode, done set and ready to go so you can hand it over to the network and they can see exactly how this show is gonna potentially go. Now, once you get the greenlight for the pilot you start with storyboarding and animation, scriptwriting for the rest of the episodes; next you get your voice actors together and start recording and all that fun stuff. As storyboarding progresses and such, there may be a little wiggle room in the animation for lines to be fudged or improvised based on the script, but  they have to still match the animation so they can’t be too far off the mark. Things like Keith’s mom being MIA, him having a Blade of Marmora and him being half-Galra? Planned from the get-go. Literally plot points that big would never be left out from the bible. Same for Lance being Cuban and his love for Varadero Beach. Keith’s father being human would also be in there. Texan accent likely was implied since they would’ve included where Keith was from just like Lance. Now, Voltron is a bit unique in that S1 and S2 were intended to be one full standard season at 26 eps, but with their promotions and hype and pressure from upper management, they decided to split it and released the first half as S1 and the second half as S2. This means that all 26 eps would’ve been outlined and scheduled for a production timeline at the same time and everything that happened in S2 was planned from the pitch . Literally not even ‘planned since the pilot aired’ it’s planned. from. the. pitch. This is why shows like Firefly suffer when they get cancelled early and just leave you on a massive cliffhanger with no end in sight, and why it’s so difficult for things like Young Justice to condense to two seasons when they found out they wouldn’t be getting more airtime— everything they dropped in a “five year gap” would’ve been your S2-S3 in all likelihood, and they had to skip a bunch to even get to a reasonable cutoff point to even attempt a grab something other than an abrupt and awkward cliffhanger.

So there you have it. Also, yes, actually season 1 and season 2 of Voltron were meant to be one big season, Keiths dad having a Southern accent was literally already recorded before Season 1 even aired.

“The funny thing with animation is that in order for it to be done by a certain time, it’s got to start forever ago. So we’ve known about season 2 for a long time, and it was pretty much done before season 1 ever came out. We didn’t get any sort of budget, we didn’t even get people off our backs. We didn’t get any kind of backing off until [the first season] came out and it was really successful.”
                          - Montgomery

“Honestly, for us, it feels like a giant season. But production wise, it very much was a season 1 that was split into two seasons.”
                         - Dos Santos

There you have it my friend. Sinningpaladin had ZERO fucking influence on Keith’s dad having an accent. Galra Keith? Pitched from the beginning, it wasn’t because of the fandom. Relationships? Most likely already pitched and they have a general idea, especially if they have at least 5 seasons planned and “promised” already. Like, if y’all wanna continue to believe this kid, be my guest. Whatever, but Dreamworks is getting involved legally already sooo… Any “deets” they’ve ever given were really vague. The info they posted about NYCC? They posted it like a few days prior to the con and all of that panel info was available 2 months prior to the con. I don’t even think they actually have a grasp on what a PR actually does either……. Not to mention that a PR has to be onboard the project from nearly the beginning and Sinningpaladin? Yeah they started the show in late June. After the release. So there’s that.

This is such an interesting ask that I have to borrow it and ask you if you don't mind! I like your thoughts on things and how you express them so I thought I'd borrow/ask (credit to anon who originally asked this): have you ever read tokio-fujita's translations of the Reimeiroku game? If you did, what did you think of the game? If you didn't, are you waiting for a localization so you don't wanna get spoiled?

Ooooohhh - thank you for the reminder Anon!

*** All images are small/cropped versions of official images posted on tokio-fujita’s livejournal (NB I also have my own versions)

I’ve read most of tokio-fujita’s translations (and historical notes and general notes and comments), but thanks to your ask I realized that I’d never finished.

[On a very sad note, tokio-fujita passed away about 1.5 years ago. Her sister has left her blogs here and on livejournal untouched.]

Here is the link to the key contents of her livejournal for those who may not have seen her wonderful work before.  Just reading/browsing through the translations of various drama CDs is wonderful entertainment for anyone who loves Hakuouki.  The fact that her entries also have excellent historical commentary is especially useful for writers looking for more depth / accuracy for their stories.

[If you are ever in need of a laugh or mood boost, read through a couple of the drama CD translations for discs marked Humor.]

I think the game Hakuouki: Reimeiroku looks very interesting.  I hope it will be localized, because even though I’ve read through most (soon to be all!) the routes and notes, it would be terrific to explore the story and characters personally. [Note: I am somewhat biased because tokio-fujita and I share(d) the same love for Saitou and especially chibi Saitou. ♥] [The blog does go through a lot more than Saitou’s route, never fear! I find the commentary on both Ibuki and Souji interesting, for example.]

Ah! Hello I don't know if you've answered an ask like this before (I didn't see one) but I'm some one who really loves clicks and metal tapping together but I also think a tangle will be really beneficial for me so are there any you recommend that are pretty cheap? I don't have much money but I could probably manage something $15 or cheaper thank you so much in advance I'm new to stim toys and getting an autistic screening soon so I'm feeling more self aware of my stims and sensory things

For $15, anon, we can get you a couple of different stim toys! If we go for the cheapest options, we can get you a few of them! There’s a few things I would definitely recommend for anyone after clicking and tapping (and good stimmy noises generally) and I’ll throw in a couple of DIYs at the end as well. This should get you started at the very least, and you can explore adding to this kit (be it by purchasing or by making things) over time. It’s surprising how quickly I went from having a couple of stim toys to having a couple of baskets of stim toys…

(I’ll also say that it’s really normal to have that self-aware stage when you’ve been diagnosed - be it professional or self - or discovered that autism is something with which you relate. My experience was that I’d spent my whole life suppressing so much about myself, and once I had a label for my difference, once I came online and found people both with the same experiences and the language for those experiences, I felt incredibly aware of this and how I moved for a long while. A year later, I’m back to not noticing how I’m rocking my knees while I type; stimming and touching has become more subconscious again, with the difference that I now reach for those baskets of toys more subconsciously and I’m so much less restrained in general sensory/texture seeking.)

Tangles

The cheapest option, no matter where you are, is ebay. (I’ve got my review here and a series of links here, but there’s many more listings here, often for $2 USD and under with free international shipping. (Folks may want to note that there’s now several listings for the glow in the dark Tangles for under $2 USD, too!) Please note that there is no real consensus as to whether these are legitimate, knock-offs, prototypes or something else: some people have found theirs to be identical to Tangle Creations packaged Tangles, while others (including two of us mods) have found them to feel cheaper - lighter, crackier, creakier, not quite right in ways hard to articulate. My feeling is that they’re knock-offs (and that this is indicative in the price) but I don’t actually know this for sure (that they use an older version of the Tangle logo makes it hard to tell). For you, anon, this might be the better Tangle to source, because I can tell you from my own experience that they crack and creak a lot more than a regular Tangle Jr, and at this price you can get a couple of them.

If you want a packaged Tangle, your best bet if you’re in the USA is Amazon or Fat Brain Toys (under $5 USD, $3.99 USD flat rate shipping). If you’re in Australia, try Toyworld stores (around $6 AUD each).

Fidget Cubes

Later on today I’m going to try and make a post about the knock-off cube I found in a local dollar shop. I’ll say this right now: it is clicky. Not just that it has buttons and switches to click, but it makes a loud plastic clicking noise when you use them. (It’s so noisy that I’d wish murder on the person using it beside me in the classroom.) In your case, anon, I’d go for the cheap version not only from pricing concerns but also because of the clicking noises they make. There’s a score of various ebay listings running anywhere from $1 to $5 with free international shipping in anybody’s currency and a few more listings on where to buy on this post.

Klixx Fidgets

This is basically a length of interlocking links that click when you move them. Tremendously clicky. There’s brand-name and imitation versions available - the imitations tend to be a few dollars cheaper. You can hear one being clicked in this video post by @yellows-stim-toy-hoarde.

Available on Stimtastic for $3.50 USD. The knock-off versions are called “Snap and Click” toys and there’s a Squishy Mart listing for $0.98 USD and on Children’s Therapy Store for $1.50 USD.

Twiddles

This is less clicky, in terms of volume, than my fidget cube, but it’s plastic, it’s scrunchy and it’s wonderfully stimmy to just crunch in your hand. It’s also the most expensive fidget here at $9.50 USD from Stimtastic and $12.99 AUD from Sensory Oasis for Kids. I’d be inclined to leave this one for later, simply due to the expense, as you can get multiples of the other toys in your budget. They are fabulous, though!

Snake Puzzles

This is another case, anon, where the cheaper the puzzle, the clickier and creakier it is. My Smiggle puzzles are mostly silent (exceptions being the glow in the dark ones, for some reason: the plastic feels more brittle) but my K-Mart puzzles (both small and large) click and creak as you rotate the triangular sections.

This is one of those odd items where I don’t have a good non-Australian supplier to recommend. K-Mart sells the mini puzzles for $1 AUD each, which I recommend as a super cheap creaky toy (although some of the covers over the triangular pieces like to pop free). There’s several larger ones on Amazon, but none are especially cheap. I’ve seen them on Banggood for $2.18 AUD with free international shipping, which might be your best bet.

Electronic Bubble Wrap

This is less clicky and more pushy with the sound of bubble wrap, but it might work for you if you really like pressing buttons. There’s a range of ebay listings here starting from $5.33 USD with free shipping.

Light Switches

Check out this post Mod Rainbow wrote a while back about finding cheap, unwired switches on ebay. If you’re after a switch to flick/click and you need something bigger than the switch on a fidget cube, here’s an option for under $1 USD with free shipping!

DIYs

- Clicky bottle/jar caps - think Snapple caps, jam jar lids, anything with a popper seal in the middle. You can reuse Snapple bottles for water or anything else so you’ve got a snap-cap bottle on you for stimming and drinking, making this pretty multifunctional!

- @diy-stims has posted this tutorial on making a DIY clicker toy: two bottle caps glued to the insides of a folded length of cardboard.

I think there’s enough here, anon, to get you started, and most of it is priced reasonably enough that you should be able to get a few different things on your budget. If anyone has any suggestions for cheap or DIY clicky toys that I’ve forgotten, please comment and I’ll add it to the post.

Good luck, anon, with both your assessment and your stimming adventures!

- Mod K.A.

Hey, how do you think Brittany and Santana being intimate with each other changed when they officialy started dating? I mean, we know that prior to  that they still had more than just sex, they  were cuddling and kissing each other's neck very very tenderly. Also we can safely assume that it was much better for Santana than it was with guys. Just like we know that Santana didn't do it because she needed something warm to digest her food, (Part 1)

i also don’t believe that she prefred doing it without eye contact. And sure, even if unspoken, there were a lot of feelings there. So what DID change? Also, do you think they were comfortable enough  to experiment in that field with different kind of things before they admitted they loved each other or was it too much of gay panic for Santana? I hope it’s not uncomfortable for you to answer 😅 thank you (: (part 2)

DISCLAIMER: Here be talk about sex. Read at your own discretion.

Hey!

So I’m going to start out by saying that my whole understanding of Brittana’s sex life during S1 and S2 is firmly rooted in these two wonderful fics, which I very highly recommend and would suggest you read because they provide better and deeper insights into this topic than I ever could.

Note that the author has retired from fandom. Please respect her privacy while you enjoy her archived work.

Starting from there:

I tend to believe that despite what Santana tries to pretend (and despite the Glee writing staff’s overfondness for the term “scissoring”), even prior to the Hurt Locker, Brittana’s intimate encounters tend to be on the affectionate side.

While the girls undoubtedly sometimes scissor or even just plain fuck each other, there is a reason why Brittany’s chosen adjective to describe their interactions is “sweet”—and there is also a reason why Brittany knows that Santana is in love with her even though Santana keeps loudly protesting that she isn’t.

Baby Girl can talk about lizards and football players all she wants, but at the end of the day, the fact is that her actions speak louder than her words.

The reason that Brittany can be so reasonably certain that Santana is in love with her even before Santana is willing to admit as much is that Santana treats Brittany in a demonstrably loving way when they’re alone together—especially within the context of the bedroom.

What Santana won’t say with her words, she can’t help but say with her body language, and for as fluent in physicality as Brittany is, Brittany has no trouble parsing out just what it is Santana is actually telling her.

Why are you so fond of Morrison's action comics run when so many were disappointed and felt it didn't live up to All Star?

I’ll admit: I was very disappointed when I first read the new Action Comics #1. It was all…weird. Superman was a jerk! He’s threatening bad guys! He’s fighting cops (I can assure you, that last bit would not hit me so hard these days)! I got that a more Golden Age vibe was coming, but I guess I’d really just expected the All-Star version jumping over buildings. Once I adjusted though? Morrison’s Action is as good as it gets.

Certainly, as you noted, it’s not in the same echelon as All-Star. It was never, ever going to be. All-Star Superman was arguably the best creative team in comics working with near-total creative freedom as part of a new brand designed to mimic the success of Ultimate Marvel (which they’d later attempt again with the New 52 and, god help us all, Earth One, to considerably lesser results), meticulously and over the course of years, to do a single perfect predetermined story. Action was Morrison using some leftover ideas for a six-issue arc as a favor to DiDio, that happened to get expanded into something bigger when he was asked to do a two-issue filler story and it snowballed from there. It doesn’t belong in the All-Star tier, or even the gold standard of longform Morrison runs in Batman. But I think it might be on the JLA level.

I have to assume that the impossible All-Star comparison is what ruins it in most peoples’ eyes, because if you take a general poll, I expect you’d find

* Most people like the six-issue origin arc

* Most people like the two-issue Legion story

* Most people love the one-shots with President Superman, Superman’s first adventure and Krypto

* Most people dig the finale

The only part people seem pretty consistently ambivalent on is the 3-issue story with “The First Superman”, and while that’s definitely the weak point of the run, even that’s a better stretch of Superman issues than any non-Morrison Superman comics for at least about a year in either direction. He fights alien construction workers and adopts a new secret identity and learns all of medicine! That’s fun stuff! And right after this he fights a super-powered ghost mummy that wants to conquer the world! This whole run is full of more fun stuff than Superman got in some entire decades!

And that three-issue story was still instrumental in providing what almost no other version of the character has been given: a well-defined character arc. I wrote just the other day on how, unlike Batman’s fairly coherent personal narrative (to the point where Morrison built a whole run around that), Superman’s kind of fragmented into a bunch of different, incompatible takes. What Morrison tried to do was (by his own admission if I recall) force Superman into that same paradigm he’d worked with for Batman, imposing a character arc onto him that matched up with his actual real-world development: he starts as a rough-and-tumble social crusader, realizes he’s scaring people and starts to soften up a bit around the edges, turns into the wild Silver Age cosmic champion as weirder threats start coming along without losing sight of the little guy, goes through his (post-)crisis of the soul (though Morrison has him question if there must be a Clark Kent rather than a Superman, because if he has to pick between his own happiness and helping people, he’s instinctively going to go for the latter), and emerges out the other side as a synthesis of the best of all of those takes, a brawling kind-hearted hero of the people fighting cosmic madness. That’s practically the point of the last arc, where while he’s warring against a battalion of his greatest adversaries as the 3rd dimension falls apart around them, it’s still really about Superman fighting a dick businessman in a suit trying to co-opt and commercialize his image while talking ordinary people into unwittingly selling out their own best interests by posing as a benefactor (to the point where he emerges initially as a flock of angels), and Superman wins by uniting them against him. Instead of the largely soulless fusion of continuity details we got for Superman’s updated beginning in Secret Origin, this was a combination of personality takes that gave us a Superman who changed, fucked-up and grew while still being Superman.

Speaking of how this run was constructed, I also feel Morrison did a better job than anyone else on any of the major titles of actually living up to the premise of the New 52: reimagining and hyper-modernizing the characters while still keeping the essential spirit of what makes them work. Along with Rags Morales, Brad Walker, Gene Ha, Andy Kubert, Ben Oliver and Travel Foreman, he created an aesthetic for Superman and his world that looked sleeker (except that damn armor suit) and more ‘real’ while still including all the essentials. Major elements like Kryptonite, Metallo, Brainiac, Mxyzptlk and Krypto were overhauled and made more ‘realistic’ while still keeping all the stuff that made them cool. Villains with promising aspects who’d never fully worked like Doomsday, Zod and Terra-Man were recombined, remixed and reintroduced as new, honestly far superior creations like Super-Doomsday, Xa-Du and Nimrod. And along with that arc, and Morrison’s traditional weird ideas, efficient characterization and his recent thematic preoccupations with never-ending cycles (with Superman’s ultimate triumph at the end being to resist starting over again and moving forward so he can keep saving people), we got the best Superman run we’ve ever had - a take that should have changed him forever for the better, but like so much of Morrison’s greatest material intended to fix struggling concepts, ended up dust in the wind the moment he left.

At least it gave us t-shirt Superman, who was both great and also the only new concept introduced to the franchise in the last decade to meaningfully stick around for awhile. And Sholly Fisch’s backups were consistently A+, and in a just world he’d have been given the main Superman title.

How different ? (Sorry I didn't put that as part of the original question.)

(the question is: how do i think taylor’s rs with the media will be different)

*(so this is an opinion piece, not a ‘she should do this’ or ‘she’s going to do this’ or ‘she feels this’; just a variety of opinions and ‘maybes’ and ‘could possibilies’ thrown together in a (sorry) medium length post)*

i mean, fundamentally, i think she doesnt need the media in the same way, like she used to, because she is infinitely bigger now than she was when she transitioned from Red to 1989. She was in country sliding to pop with Red, and 1989, as we all know, was her first true pop album. now she’s ingrained in pop ….. heck, she IS pop. thats important, because there is a real reduced need to cement herself in a new genre as part of it, because she rules it. She defines it. Her label execs were nervous about her going pop. There was probably a real sense of, okay, if we’re gonna do this, we gotta really sell this to the pop listeners then. And, like any product, if you are just starting out, you need your name everrrrryyyyywhere you can- print, tv, radio, internet, billboard, grassroots, social media. if you are bigger, you can be pickier. you can go for just the outlets with the largest reach, ones that might not have given you a platform before. You can create more lucrative brand partnerships (like apple) because they know your worth; and those alignments can harness the power of two demographics/brands/audiences to reach new people. Or reach them in a different way.

secondly because she got herself o/exposed last time around due to the constant media. she said so herself. some of that is on them, some of that is on her (choices). some of that just happened. it’s clear (to me) that she didnt like/want to be o/e.  i mean, who does? you dont want people to be sick of you. therefore to avoid that, she needs to take steps (things w/in her control) to try to minimize that risk.  inherently that means less media exposure. obviously you cannot control it all, but you can control your own input to it, and that would be articles, photoshoots and to a degree, candids.

thirdly since she, in my opinion, doesnt need the media like before - look at how well idwlf did without one ounce of promotion on her behalf - that’s just a soundtrack song, so that is a huge indicator -  therefore i dont think one will see even close to the same amount of promotional things - covers on smaller mags, photoshoots, etc. because it simply isnt necessary. it’s like washing your car a day after you just washed it. would it be cleaner? sure, but you just dont need to do it.  She can command the market now, it’s clear there is a huge interest in her new music, and she has all the major players in her grasp.  so, like any brand rolling out an advertising campaign, you hit up the advertising venues that give you the most ‘bang for your buck’ so to speak (except of course she isnt paying). No need to really bother with Magazine A with a circulation/reach 1/20 that of Magazine B, ya know? Again, see #2 above. Just how much promotion and where? i dont know.  i dont think she’ll be a beyonce, but she might be more of an adele. it could be more concentrated around the album, rather than spread out. or, it could be more spread out. there are a few approaches to be considered. and i dont really think she did an insane amount of promotion for 1989′s drop anyway, but again, i think there will be noted differences.

fourth, i think her relationship with the paparazzi will be a near 180. Will she always be under umbrellas? i dont know, but probably not. But the days of being papped 4 separate times a day, in my opinion, are gone. She clearly knows how to avoid them. Why? One bc of #2 above, second because i think she might have realized that was stealing away any semblance of both privacy and normalcy - in her life, her relationships with others, too.   And i think stealing the privacy let to things which were hurtful, and i think those would be things most people would want to avoid. who wants to be followed by cameras everywhere? i dont think she does.  i could be wrong, but this is just my guess.

fifth and finally, they really did her dirty last year, so i think there is a strong possibility that she is still-not-pleased with how they treat(ed) her. i mean *i* am still a little bitter about it, cause it was just wrong, and it’s not my life, lol. Of course most outlets will be eating from her palm when she releases new music, but give them time, they usually turn. obviously that doesnt mean all members of the press are dirty rotten scoundrels, but, i think there has to be some animosity there. She’s always said they can and will turn on you at a moment’s notice and that definitely happened and i think that happens only so many times before you get so hurt/mad that you change how you interact with them.

those are the major points i can think of.

where do you think the andrastians anders healed went to pray? The chantry. If anders healed hundreds, it's reasonable that a few of the people he healed (who they didn't animate either), went to the chantry he blew up.

If we only go based on people the devs bothered to animate, the amount of people who vouched for Anders in the ferelden refugee place/shop when you go to ask about him (and the people who come up to threaten you) would be more than the sum total of the people seen in the chantry over the three acts.

First of all, the Chantry is closed at night. Considering Hawke cannot force their way in (unless acted upon by an outside force aka a quest), then it stands to reason the Chantry is closed to visitors at night. The chantry blew up at the end of the day, when night was approaching. Everyone in their right mind would have long returned home (think about how dangerous the streets are at night - even for Hawke and co!). So, unless some poor unfortunate soul got locked in the chantry the night it exploded, none of the civilians Anders healed would have been in there - only Chantry personnel.

Can't believe you didn't make a post about it so I'm asking instead, do you think Noro was also tortured by Eto like Kanae recently and even Seidou?

I hardly ever write my own posts anymore when it comes to TG, Anon, especially because of a lack of time and also because I have no idea whether said subjects were already discussed before since I barely track the tags. So yep, the best way for you is still to ask if you’ve got something in mind.

As for whether Noro is similar to Kanae and Seidou or not (as in s/he’s also one of Eto’s victims), I am considering it way more now, since what happened to Kanae, than before.

To be honest, at first I thought Noro was someone who suffered in the past but who was considered as a true ally and being by Eto and Tatara but s/he might be Eto’s victim as well because of several things, most of them highlighted by Kanae’s torture session:

1) The mask

Similar big mouth for the two masks, even though Noro’s has no eyes. This could be Eto’s fashion taste when it comes to her victims (unfortunately since Seidou didn’t use a mask, we can’t exactly confirm that point).

2) The clocks

That’s the weirdest thing and that’s what made people wondered whether or not Noro could be Eto’s victim too, because I think everybody noticed that Eto tortured Kanae amongst dozens of clocks while Noro was glued to their own clock during the Aogiri arc three years before.
(So either this is a clue or Eto was inspirated by what Noro went through when she tortured Kanae)

3) Noro’s capacities

That CCG doctor pointed out to Urie how the more ghouls gets injured the stronger they get and Noro is strong but also has fast regenerative capacities (like Uta, Sasaki and others), so s/he definitely went through a lot of pain to be so reactive to being wounded.
And in that case, torture, by Eto or someone else, seems like a good guess, especially since they’re a Rinkaku (iirc, because Rinkaku’s regenerative capacities are better) and this fits with Kaneki’s own traumatic experiences.

4) Obediance

We will have to see with Kanae in future chapters, but Noro is extremely obedient when it comes to Eto or Tatara’s orders, so torture by Eto could have indeed led them to become really submissive to Aogiri’s 2 most powerful characters. After all, Takizawa did listen to Eto in the Auction arc and he was tortured as well, so Eto might be using the whole “carrot and stick” approach when it comes to make the people she tortured obey (unless they don’t need it because they always live in fear of being punished).

For example, I’m thinking Takizawa in the auction arc obeyed Eto because he didn’t want to get more hurt but also because he was allowed to eat if he followed Eto’s orders. It might be the same way for Kanae (but we’ll have to wait for future chapters to confirm it) and I’m thinking that in case Noro is Eto’s victim too, s/he always obeys because pain taught them better than to disappoint Aogiri’s leader.

Eto’s way is to break people before reconstructing them following her own wishes about how she thinks they should be: Takizawa as the Owl 2.0 and Kanae probably as a way to intervene in the Tsukiyama vs Haise conflict. For Noro, it might have been in order for her to get a powerful Aogiri executive who would never fail her or Tatara.

Also, the fact Noro eats a lot definitely reminds me of Takizawa, so maybe food is also a reward (the “carrot”) for Noro’s obedience while pain is in case s/he disappoints (”the stick”).

The real thing I’m wondering about though is whether Eto did it or not, since even back in TG and Aogiri’s first introduction, Noro already seemed to be Tatara’s right hand (wo)man and Aogiri was still far from the kind of organization they are in :Re: they were less famous and had no experiments or mad scientists.

So the question is when did Noro become acquainted with Tatara and Eto and is s/he really Eto’s victim?

Well, I have one possible answer in mind, following what I already wrote here but I have no idea as to the validity of it.

Remember that haiku, Anon?

In Japanese it is : “Utai tori nodo ni koe sou tada hiero“, so “Uta, Itori, Noro, Nico and Souta are Pierrot” according to Japanese speakers (please note that I can’t confirm the translation’s accuracy either, but many people seem to agree on this version so that’s why I’m using it).

So since the haiku seems to be indicating Noro as one of the Clowns when we always knew them as part of Aogiri, one can wonder if Noro wasn’t actually sent to Aogiri as a spy (like Souta and the ghoul restaurant, or Roma and Anteiku) but Eto found out and tortured them, breaking and making them her and Tatara’s pawn, just like she did with Seidou and Kanae.

This theory would explain the possible similarities between Kanae’s treatment and what we’ve seen of Noro’s character so far in any case, but that’s just one of the possibilities so as always, don’t take it for granted.

Hope it answers your question because that’s all I have in mind for the moment unfortunately.

ok, so there's a post in the Westallen tag comparing Iris's and Cailtin's individual storylines this semester and pretty much saying that Cailtin is getting the "perks of a leading lady" because she gets her own story and Iris is just a love interest for Barry. I didn't want to give them any notes, so I wanted to ask you for your option. I think having a romantic connection to the show's lead is better than not having any at all, so...

If anyone watching the show views Caitlin as the leading lady… they probably need to rewatch the show.

As much as I’m an advocate for Iris having separate storylines away from Barry… as an Iris supporter, I personally feel it’s “safer” when her storylines do connect to the show’s main lead.

In a perfect television world, the female lead would be able to have her own storylines separate from the male lead and still be deemed important and valuable to the overall story. But this isn’t a perfect television world… it’s Greg Berlanti’s television world, where everything revolves around a single title character. And unfortunately "the curse of the second-billed-actor/actress” is a real thing.

Thanks for the FOUR didn't flop post, it feels like a lot of people wish it had. Pretty sure OTRA will be seen as a success as well. This band is still viable.

No problem!  I know the press is trying to tell us One Direction are all washed up, but I don’t think there’s anything to back that up.  If you look at figures, they’re still doing fine, and if you look at the exciting hints of what One Direction could be like with a decent team, the future is very promising.

The thing that’s fascinating about One Direction is that despite the fact they’re still one of the tip top musical acts in the world after their sales have dropped some, it doesn’t feel like they’ve reached their potential at all.  There are so many things we could have seen from them- should have seen from them- but haven’t.

  • I would happily listen to a solo album for each and every one of them.
  • I would love to hear duets or three piece ensembles from them.
  • Someone I follow that does a lot of music analysis says that they’re very static in how they divide up song parts and that they have a lot of room to experiment with that and uncover new abilities and sounds.
  • We almost never get to hear them sing acoustic and even though it’s not as common, the hints we’ve had of their a cappella have been very nice.
  • Several people agree that almost none of them have ever been given proper vocal training to minimize strain on their vocal chords and optimize their singing technique.
  • It seems to me that several of the boys aren’t necessarily singing the best genre of music for their voices and vocal styles.  What will Zayn and Liam sound like on R&B tracks?  What would Louis sound like on a modern rock track (as opposed to an 80′s throwback)?  What would Niall sound like singing songs with a Passenger-esque style?  What would Harry sound like if he had a chance to go for all the high notes and harmonies instead of mostly singing the melodies?
  • At some point I’m assuming we’ll hear other artists singing songs Harry, Louis, and Liam, and maybe Niall and Zayn, have written.
  • I very much want to hear more songs written by Niall and Zayn in particular since they haven’t had solo efforts except for one or maybe two.
  • I would immediately go into a state of gibbering mess if a song written by OT5 and only OT5 were released.
  • We know the boys other than Niall can all play some guitar.  We also know they have some experience with piano and maybe other instruments.  Can we hear them play a little on stage, even if it’s not a whole set?
  • What about collaborations singing with other artists?  If they get a female, that would contrast nicely with 5 male voices, or they could collaborate as individuals with other artists.
  • Will they ever expand into TV?  I don’t necessarily mean acting, but maybe a well conceived sort-of reality TV show?  Where they let us see what they’re like during the song writing process, what happens when they hang out together as pairs and as a group, what they’re like with their celebrity friends?  Have them answer interesting fan question, do challenges, travel together?
  • Or what about other positions they can do in the off season?  Things like judging on X Factor, competing on Dancing With the Stars, or guesting on Jamie Oliver’s show?
  • For that matter, will we ever get to see interviews again?  How many OT5 interviews have there even been since they returned from the break before the Where We Are Tour?

The lack of vocal training, never having appropriate singles for the albums, the refusal to help them spread to an older and more general audience, the lack of interviews, not letting us hear acoustic music, the inexcusable mismanagement of their promo, the lack of developing them as individual artists, and the deliberate inhibition of different pairing dynamics and the group dynamic as a whole- all of those things SHOULD have been different.

Those things are basics and had they been done properly, that may have put One Direction in a much better position today than the one they’re currently in. They could be in a hugely better place even though their popularity and sales are already near the top. Can you imagine what that would look like?

All 5 of them are attractive, all 5 of them are charming, and all 5 of them have talent.  It seems to me that, being harshly honest, most boy bands have 1-4 members that, while good, don’t have the ability to make it on their own.  I may be biased, but I can see how each and every one of the One Direction members could have become successful in music all on their own even if they’d never gotten into The X Factor.

I think they have something special.  Even if they don’t, as I’ve said, there are 5-10 basic things that should have been handled better and another score of opportunities they’ve yet to explore.  They have so much potential to fulfill and I’m not at all worried about their future if they choose to commit to building their profile with a skilled team behind them.

What if Tadashi had a tumblr that he kept up with since like 8th grade or something and he would always update about Hiro or new tech ideas or whatever he wanted. Then one day he didn't log out before leaving for school. Being nosy as he is, Hiro looked through this tumblr page, soon realizing it was Tadashi's. Then, with a devious smirk, he continued to post random things and waited for his brother to come home, then asked his older brother about it and laughed as Tadashi found what he posted

I got this.

*cracks knuckles*

leggo.

Today was awful, you guys. My little brother went bot-fighting. Again! What am I to do with him…?! Hiro really worries me sometimes…’

‘It’s official. Professor Callaghan is the best. I stayed awfully late at school today to work on my Mid-Term robotics project. I was drained, hungry, discouraged… When Callaghan came to check on me, he worked hard to cheer me up and proceeded to buy me a late dinner. He is such a good man. I’m so honored to learn under him…’

Mochi swallowed one of Hiro’s bot parts. I’ve never seen my brother so mad before in my entire life! It was actually kind-of funny, once we got past the screaming and the ‘chasing the cat’ part…’

Hiro couldn’t believe it.

Tadashi had a tumblr.

How did he not know about this before?!
