i did my best but i guess my best wasn't good enough

Spell me out of this

Hey hello so I’ve been making false starts on this idea for a fic for MONTHS now and I attempted maybe five different versions of it with vastly different storylines, none of which really worked, and in the end I just spent three days on this and meh okay here goes. Simon can’t deal with his feelings for Baz so he uses magic to repress them.

(Sixth year)

Agatha is upset with me, because I didn’t ask her where she’d been. I think. She’s been gone the entire day, and I just figured she had something she needed to do or she was sick or she needed a day off, and I pushed it out of my mind, and I didn’t say anything. She thinks I don’t care enough about where she is, or what she’s doing. She thinks that if I like her, those are things I should worry about.

Agatha is upset with me, because we’ve barely spent any time together over the last week. She thinks I’m too busy following Baz around to care that I’m never around her. She thinks that as her boyfriend, I should want to spend time around her. But I do want to spend time around her. I just know Baz is up to something.

Penny keeps nagging at me, because she thinks it’s weird that I don’t talk about Agatha much. I don’t think she has a problem with it, but she’s convinced that I don’t like Agatha the way I did in fourth year. In fourth year, I wouldn’t shut up about her. I told her that liking Agatha doesn’t mean I have to think about her all the time.

‘Well, no, but it’s a known symptom,’ Penny said.

Penny says it’s strange that Agatha doesn’t seem to get under my skin. The other day Agatha got frustrated with me for botching up a spell, and Penny said she was surprised when I didn’t seem really worked up about it.

‘That’s because you guys know what my magic is like,’ I said. ‘Agatha’s just frustrated, she’s not judging me.’

Penny says I used to try so hard to impress Agatha, but now she thinks I’m just going through the motions. I told her I’m trying to be a good boyfriend, and she said I’m only doing it because it’s what I’m supposed to do.

‘What are you saying, Penny?’ I finally ask. I know she’s getting at something.

‘I just don’t think you two are that into each other,’ she says. ‘What she said didn’t bother you?’

‘No. Why would I be pissed at her? She wasn’t trying to upset me. Not like when Baz says things like that.’

It does bother me when Baz insults me. (Not to mention the fact that he does it all the time. It’s his favourite hobby.)

‘You barely hang out together anymore.’

‘We do, I’m just busy…’ Following Baz. Trying to figure out what he’s plotting. There have been weeks where I barely let him out of my sight.

‘You never talk about her,’ Penny continues.

‘What do I talk about, then?’

She sighs. ‘You talk about Baz.’

I shrug, because, fine, she’s right. I probably do talk about Baz too much. I probably do think about Baz too much. A lot more than I think about Agatha.

‘Where is Baz?’ I say. ‘What’s he up to? I need to know where he is.’ I need to see him. I need to be around him.

I look at Penny. Penny stares back.

I gulp.

Well, shit.

You have to help me.

makosharkies  asked:

Hello again :3 I was wondering the RFA (+ Minor Trio) would react to the MC being a professional competitive horse rider (dressage, jumping, cross country, eventing, pas de deux, etc...)? Thank you and hope that wasn't too much :3

Ahhh so when I first read your ask I was like ?????? I don’t know what any of these words mean??? So I’m sorry if I get terminology wrong, I’m not a horse-riding expert even though I did do some research >.<

on a side note thank you for the reblogs with the commentary lmao I really do read all of them, and I could write a V soulmate au like someone said but it’s gotta be a proper request heuheu

Update: @makosharkies actually drew a thing for me so if you wanna see some Saeran vs horse art go check it out

  • Oh jeez this kid was so happy to find out about you being an equestrian
  • Not only is horse-riding hella cool, but also
  • just horses in general????
  • because horses are great?????
  • Insists he come watch your practice that day, and you let him even though you had a feeling Yoosung was gonna go all horse biology on you
  • Sure enough, when you get to the area where all the horses are kept, Yoosung is just shaking he’s so thrilled
  • him: casually pulls out his vet notes
  • you: casually puts them back in his bag
  • Yoosung I’ve been with horses since forever I think I can name their body parts myself thanks
  • Yoosung loves watching you ride, wow MC looks so cool like medieval movie people
  • lmao medieval movie people good going Yoosung
  • But also he gets to watch how a horse’s body moves in real time
  • So it’s a really good study session for him too, though the first thing he says to you afterwards is
  • “I never knew a horse’s muscles looked so powerful under their sleek pelt!” (help me out here is it a pelt or skin or w h a t?)
  • Yoosung what about me
  • “You looked beautiful too!”
  • Too’????
  • Anyways, he tells you that next time he’d like to see things from up close
  • Yoosung I sincerely hope that you don’t become obsessed with my horse

  • We all know how much of a romanticist he is
  • MC has horses???? Like real horses???
  • Well I am an equestrian so yes
  • MC pleasecanIrideahorseIwanttobeyourprinceandrideoffintothesunset
  • When he sees you at a jumping competition, you make it look so easy
  • If MC can do it, so can I!
  • Reluctantly, you try to give him a little lesson on riding, but Zen keeps distracting himself by trying to always look good
  • “Okay, so before you actually get on, there are some basics you need to know-”
  • “If the horse runs really fast, I bet my hair’s gonna look a-m-a-z-i-n-g in the wind.”
  • “Zen, are you even listen-”
  • “We gotta get the timing right though, the sun has to be in front of me, so that I can have a perfect silhouette.”
  • “Zen you-”
  • “Is it okay if I let go of the reins? I’m gonna have to take a selfie…what kind of pose should I make? Oh I kn-”
  • In the end, Zen doesn’t learn how to ride by himself, let alone be able to do basic jumps
  • But because of his pouting, you gave in and allowed him to ride with you
  • more like you two were just chilling on the horse while the sun set in front of you
  • You’re holding a portable electric fan in your hand so that Zen can get his desired wind effect
  • Of course you spend hours there while he takes thousands of selfies
  • Jaehee’s the only one who believes him when he tells the RFA that he now knows how to ride a horse

  • when you tell  her that you have to take a day off work for a competition, she insists she come along and watch
  • Jaehee is blown away by your concentration, and the teamwork you and your horse possess
  • Wants to use it as a reference for working standards at the cafe lolol
  • When you bring her closer to your horse, she straightens her back, then gives him a deep bow
  • “Hello, my name is Jaehee Kang, am I am MC’s girlfriend. It truly is a pleasure to meet you,” she says, before standing upright again.
  • Your horse simply  nibbles at the carrot you offer him, because it’s a horse and horses like carrots better than formal introductions I guess
  • *gasp* does that mean I’m a horse too? wow the more you know…
  • But honestly Jaehee you’re so cute what am I supposed to do with you???
  • Oh I know
  • Over the next couple of weeks, you give Jaehee a few lessons about horseback riding, and of course being the intelligent and hardworking person she is, Jaehee picks up on them right away
  • And one day, you have her dress up in a pretty outfit, and bring her over to the yard
  • Jaehee sits sattleback as you guide the horse around the track, wanting to show the world how beautiful your girlfriend is, and how proud you are to be able to call her that
  • Jaehee’s a blushing mess
  • You decide to to it again soon

  • The first time Jumin saw your dressage performance, he was floored
  • There are other animals as sophisticated as Elizabeth 3rd???
  • Your horse’s trot just captures his heart, and that night he watches more dressage videos with Elly
  • Lowkey tries to teach her how to do the fancy horse walk
  • lolololol could you imagine a cat doing that
  • makin’ my way downtown
  • He’s gonna build a private establishment just for you, one that’s really close to his office so that he can come visit you during his breaks
  • It calms him down after a stressful day at work, watching you practice so diligently
  • He makes sure you have the best coaches, best facilities
  • But he knows not to suggest getting ‘better’ horses, since he would promptly arrest anybody who suggested getting a ‘better’ cat (not that that even existed in Jumin Han’s mind)
  • The guy thought he was a cat whisperer
  • He’s actually a horse whisperer
  • You’ll walk in on his brushing your horse, singing her a lullaby in a foreign language
  • you swear the horse is singing it right back at him
  • But Jumin promises to sing it to you too

  • Oh he knew
  • He even attended your pas de deux competition when you just joined the RFA
  • He was that one dude who kept screaming every 5 seconds and had to be escorted out
  • When you officially introduce him to your horse/s, Saeyoung looks like a kid who just met their superhero
  • “It’s a HORSE!?!?!?”
  • Yes, yes it is.
  • You never knew he was a closeted brony
  • Names your horse after his favourite character
  • “Seven please he’s called Shadowfax not Rainbow Dash!”
  • For some unknown reason, Saeyoung knows how to ride horses??
  • And he’s actually pretty good at it????
  • Except he still lacks common sense????
  • “Look at me!” he exclaims, ‘Rainbow Dash’ prancing around the arena with Seven on his back,”No hands! No hands! No– gah!”
  • He’s is flung from your horse and lands in a bush
  • His glasses askew, bramble stuck in his hair, he declares that he immediately wants to do it again
  • In the end, you guys make a pas de deux routine together, and it’s a beautiful thing to witness
  • somehow the horses dab at the end

  • He’s happy when you tell him about you being an equestrian, but his thoughts are tinged with sadness because he can’t see what you’re doing
  • Still, V says that he wishes to be there when you practice, so you bring him along and sit him somewhere nearby (you don’t want him to wander off while you aren’t looking istg even if he’s blind he just doesn’t know how to stay put)
  • He hears everything, the sound of the horse’s hooves, the soft words you give your horse in between rides, and he even begins to think that he can hear the sound of the wind as you gallop around the arena
  • His fingers are aching to take a picture, but all he can do is imagine with eyes that can no longer see, what a sight to behold you must be
  • I did a Seuss thing
  • Not three days pass before he confronts you with his desire to get surgery
  • When he goes back to watch you, he brings along his camera
  • You were more incredible to watch than he ever thought possible
  • He wants to capture every moment of you looking free and cherish them forever

  • Actually really afraid of horses but definitely won’t admit it
  • So when you tell him about being an equestrian, he sorta just freezes for a moment
  • He clears his throat, “Ah…oh, cool,” he growls, trying to appear disinterested
  • You you tell him you want to bring him to a cross-country event, but he just gives you A Look™
  • “Will there be…you now…horses there?”
  • Saeran p l s
  • But he can’t lose face in front of you, and forces himself to go
  • He waits with the crowd while you do your thing, but he can’t hype himself up for you because he’s too afraid for your safety
  • Basically, since he’s scared of horses, he’s also afraid of seeing you on a horse
  • horsesareevilIdontunderstandthemwhatiftheyhaveahiddenagenda
  • That’s pretty much all he can think about
  • When you’re done, he all but snatches you off of your horse, glaring at it as if it were his love rival
  • “Um Saeran did - did something happen between the two of you?”
  • “You never know what a horse is plotting,” he mutters to himself.
  • “What?”
  • Saeran pouts and looks away, and you tell him you have to go see your coach but you’ll be right back
  • So he’s left standing awkwardly beside your horse
  • He keeps giving it suspicious glances, half-expecting it to morph into some strange monstrous creature
  • “Who the fuck are you?” he finally hisses, staring the horse down. “Are you an impostor? Professional cosplayer? Well, whatever you are, you better watch out, because I’ve got my eyes on you…all three of them,” he adds, tapping his arm.
  • *does the I’m watching you thing with his hands while slowly slinking out of the frame*
  • Horse: who the fuck are you?

Update: @makosharkies actually drew out the scene and it’s beautiful babe ily 5 ever

  • He’s totally with Saeran in the ‘horses are plotting world domination’ club
  • You want him to come watch you? Nuh-uh
  • No matter how much you beg, Miss Vanderwood will not go
  • So you think to yourself
  • If he will not go to the horse, then the horse will go to him
  • MC!!!! MC!!!!!” you hear Vanderwood screeching that afternoon.
  • “Yeah?”
  • “I thought some bonding time would be nice.”
  • Vanderwood runs around the house, screaming for hours
  • When he finally calms down, you find him seated in a corner of the living room, whispering things to himself
  • You think, good, he seems to have come to terms with your horse, and you approach him with a small hopeful smile,
  • “Hey, Van-”
  • You pause
  • He’s clutching a tattered book to his chest as if his life depended on it
  • What’s this? you think, stepping in some sort of thick liquid
  • There, on the floor, a strange rune-looking symbol had been painted, with your horse standing in the middle, munching on some oats
  • The horse vanishes only to reappear in the bathroom
  • Vanderwood loses his voice for a week, and still has nightmares regarding the whole incident
  • You never speak of that day again
My personal thoughts on all of the Nicktoons (so far as of May 2017)
  • Doug: Cute, sweet show. I love it. Sad how it tends to be labeled as "boring" now- it's still a great show. And of course it kicked off the whole "slice-of-life cartoons" trend so that's pretty cool. And yes, I did like the Disney version. But it's nowhere near as good as the Nick version.
  • Rugrats: Probably one of my favorite cartoons ever. Funny, clever, great characters, great music, great '90s aesthetics, and Klasky-Csupo's style is perfect. One of THE best Nicktoons..too bad it got dumbed down in 2001. Ugh...it was such a great show and then I don't know what happened there. Rugrats in Paris should've been the finale. But...even the later episodes are better than it's spin-offs.
  • The Ren and Stimpy Show: While I'm not the biggest fan of most gross-out shows, I LOVE this one. I'm pretty much with Mr. Enter on how most gross-out cartoons seem to be TRYING to be R&S but rarely getting it right. The characters are hilarious and it's so weird, it's funny. But the less about Adult Party Cartoon; the better.
  • Rocko's Modern Life: Amazing show and I'm really excited for the TV movie...whenever that's coming out. I love the visual style, the music, the characters, and I'm sure I love it even more as an adult than I did as a kid (and I did love it as a kid)
  • Aaahh!!! Real Monsters: Another great show (really, Nick was at it's highest point in the '90s, but the early-to-mid '90s especially). Love the characters, the intentionally ugly style...it's just great. Shame it tends to be so underrated.
  • Hey Arnold!: One of the greatest cartoons ever and probably the best Nicktoon ever. I love how it never tried to shy away from more mature themes that other kids' shows wouldn't try touching and it did a great job at it. Looking forward to the Jungle Movie, and of course...Helga was the best.
  • KaBlam!: I loved it as a kid. As an adult, I REALLY wonder why. The wraparounds try way too hard to be "hip", just akwardly shoehorning in references attempting to be the next TTA or Animaniacs, but falling completely flat. Characters were annoying but the voice acting was awesome. I do need to give the show credit for making me a ska fan. Most of the individual shorts kind of sucked but Action League Now! was hilarious and The Off-Beats was cute. And of course...
  • Life With Loopy: Yes I had to give this it's own mention because it's just that good. Nick really needs to give this one it's own series because the campy and surreal nature mixed with the overall sweetness was just a perfect blend, and the animation style was pretty awesome. The title character is just so perfect and so underrated. And I LOVE how aesthetically '90s the whole show is.
  • The Angry Beavers: Another one that's pretty underrated. I always really loved this show. I love all the banter and ad-libbing between Norbert and Daggett. And the music was great. I still listen to "Beaver Fever" and "I Think I Like You" now and again (also...Salem and Zim as beavers. How could you go wrong there?)
  • CatDog: Everyone hates this show but I really loved it. I love the character designs, CatDog themselves, and the theme song is NEVER going to leave my head. Sure, it's no Rocko or Hey Arnold!, but it's still a funny show.
  • Oh Yeah! Cartoons: Unlike KaBlam!, this one had different shorts in every episode rather than just four main short series, so it would take too long to go over all of them (not to mention that a good chunk of them aren't even online!). A lot of the shorts on this show were really funny and had some great visual styles. And Mina and the Count still needs a TV show.
  • The Wild Thornberrys: Really loved this show; I was the "animal kid" in my class so obviously I really liked this one. I just really love Klasky-Csupo. The movie was awesome and so was the show.
  • SpongeBob Squarepants: One of the funniest cartoons ever. While it got annoying seeing it become a schedule clog, the earlier episodes are still great. I heard that it got itself out of seasonal rot (look, let's pretend most of what came in-between the movie and the second movie never happened), but I rarely watch Nick anymore so I wouldn't know. Let's hope so.
  • Rocket Power: Not one of my favorites as a kid or as an adult (I wasn't really into the extreme sports craze), but my friends really liked it so I watched it with them and yeah, I enjoyed what I saw. It does have it's funny moments and while it's incredibly cheesy and way too late '90s/early 2000s that it hurts, it's a fun watch just for the cheese.
  • As Told By Ginger: A great show that I don't think I really appreciated enough until I got older. I guess I was just a LITTLE too young when it was new and by the time I was older and getting more into it...the show got cancelled. It's a really great show and one of Nick's best slice-of-life shows.
  • The Fairly OddParents: Really funny...for the first four seasons. S5 was when it started to slip and everything after that just got worse and worse. I still have fond memories of watching the older seasons and they're still good...but let's hope that jump to Nicktoons meant something.
  • Invader Zim: Great show, great animation, great character designs...did NOT deserve to be screwed over. I'm really looking forward to the TV movie. But...while I do love GIR (though he's not my #1 favorite character), the whole Hot Topic worship of GIR was pretty annoying. Let's face it- 2006/2007 on the internet was a bad time.
  • ChalkZone: Really cute. Admittedly I like the worldbuilding elements and characters a little more than the actual episodes (I did love all of S1 though; I think it was the best season), it's still great. S4 was...not the best though. From what we know about the canned S5, it was probably gonna be a lot better but...Nick had to be Nick. Let us have S5, already. And really- why didn't we get a ton of Snap merchandise?
  • The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius: Good show but I liked the movie more. Had some really funny moments and is so aesthetically early 2000s that it's pretty fun looking back on.
  • My Life as a Teenage Robot: Loved this one and I wish it got more recognition. Jenny was absolutely adorable and she was a hero to me as a kid (okay, looking back...I'm sure I had a crush on Jenny). Sad that the network treated it like shit.
  • All Grown Up!: The special was good. The first season was pretty good. After that I felt like I was reading glorified Rugrats fanfic. All it was really was "Ginger Lite" as ATBG was dealing with the heavier stuff while this was all the leftover stuff. Rugrats was great and had an interesting premise. AGU! was more of the same.
  • Danny Phantom: This was the last Nicktoon I REALLY loved as a kid. A really good show that could've gotten even more awesome had it's own creator not fucked it up. Ugh...I want a revival but PLEASE let it be by Steve Marmel and not Butch. Also Sam was like...my hero...as a preteen. And I've got tons of purple and black in my wardrobe (and the same purple lipstick) now that may or may not have been influenced by her (well, that and/or the fact that those are my favorite colors anyway). Like many others...I totally had a crush on Danny as a kid.
  • Avatar the Last Airbender: Okay, admittedly...I was never into this show. But I praise it for it's themes, animation, story...while I personally couldn't get into it, it still is a great show and probably the last really good Nicktoon for a while. And yeah- we don't talk about that movie.
  • Catscratch: I didn't really see enough of it but what I saw I liked. Wanted to see more but it came and went really fast.
  • The Xs: While the previews for it looked pretty good, I...did not like it. I watched it when it premiered and everything but it was a letdown. Felt like they were trying WAY too hard to make their own version of The Incredibles but with Erin Esurance-esque animation. Voice acting was great though (I noticed that Wendie Malick was the saving grace for TWO bad 2005 cartoons)
  • El Tigre: Okay this was RIGHT around the time I was starting to lose interest/outgrow Nickelodeon. Had a great premise and could've been a really good show and I was looking forward to it, but it felt like tons of other flash cartoons at the time and the voice acting could've been a lot better (great talents- direction-wise though...). Maybe if I were a younger kid when it came out, I would've liked it more, but...it was annoying. But the creator has made some other great stuff and I STILL need to see The Book of Life. I'm kicking myself for not seeing it in the theaters due to my work and college schedule.
  • Tak and the Power of JuJu: Didn't play the games but I already knew the franchise was pretty much dying by the time the show came out. It was awful. And we never heard from Tak again...
  • Back at the Barnyard: The movie had it's problems but was at least watchable. The show was just annoying and unfunny.
  • The Mighty B!: Unpopular opinion, but...I really loved this show. It has problems, but there was something about it I couldn't hate. Bessie was just such a great character. Wasn't a big fan of the grossout elements but otherwise it was really funny. Not a great show, but I was entertained enough.
  • Rugrats Pre-School Daze: YES THIS IS A REAL SHOW. Ugly art style (I'm pissed that K-C didn't use their signature style and went for something more "cutesy"; it just looked awful), bland writing, and really not a very interesting series. No wonder why it only lasted four episodes and didn't even air in the US until 2008 after all the episodes were released direct-to-video as bonus features on those Tales of the Crib DVDs (the less about them, the better). All it felt like was a desperate attempt to keep a dying franchise alive.
  • The Penguins of Madagascar: I was pretty neutral to the Madagascar franchise- saw the first movie in theaters and it was alright; wasn't dying to see the sequels so I never did. The show however never did anything for me.
  • Fanboy and Chum Chum: While I was already losing interest in Nick around 2005-2007, this was right around the time where I was officially done. I was a teenager at this point and not into this stuff anymore, but I stuck around for the old SpongeBob or FOP rerun and well...guilty pleasure Mighty B!. Then they changed the logo. And then this show came out. God...it was SO annoying. Annoying theme song, annoying characters...animation style would've worked a lot better if it was in 2D rather than CGI; it just fell way too deep into the uncanny valley for me. I wouldn't say this was the final nail in the coffin for me though; it was definitely the logo change.
  • T.U.F.F. Puppy: Didn't like it. Jokes weren't that funny. I did love the character designs though.
  • Planet Sheen: Sheen didn't need a spinoff. This was one of the worst ideas ever.
  • Kung-Fu Panda Legends of Awesomeness: Liked the first movie (I need to watch it again), haven't seen the sequels but I should. Was bored with the TV show.
  • TMNT: Haven't seen it but I've heard nothing but good things about it. Maybe I should check it out.
  • The Legend of Korra: Heard it was pretty good, but as I wasn't really into Avatar I probably wouldn't be too interested.
  • Robot and Monster: Never saw.
  • Monsters vs. Aliens: Saw the movie and it was...alright. Didn't think it was warranting of a TV series. Didn't watch it.
  • Sanjay and Craig: Saw some of it while waiting for another show to come and...I never wanted to watch it again. Not a fan of the character designs and it was really unfunny. But it's better than Breadwinners.
  • Rabbids Invasion: I did like the Rabbids games as a preteen but...by this time, I don't think they were that popular anymore. Didn't watch it. How is it still running?
  • Breadwinners: Worst Nicktoon ever (so far). Ugly characters, awful animation, shitty writing...how did this get greenlit? Nick...just because "it's for kids" doesn't mean "we can half-ass it"
  • Harvey Beaks: What's this? A GOOD NICKTOON? Yes- it's such a cute show with cute character designs, really nice animation...it's got a nice, nostalgic feel to it while also feeling like something brand new that Nick hasn't done. I'm pissed that it was screwed over.
  • Pig Goat Banana Cricket: Like Monsters, I like how it's "intentionally ugly" and some of the jokes/line delivery managed to be pretty funny, but is otherwise pretty meh to me overall. I'd like it more if I were seven, because hey, that's the show's target audience.
  • The Loud House: I'm glad it has positive representation (thank you for including gay parents in one of your shows, Nick!), but otherwise it's just too bland and cliched for me. Nice character designs; animation could be better. Again, I'd probably like it more if I were in the target audience.
  • Bunsen is a Beast!: Haven't watched it. Don't plan on it, either.
Dearest Cousin (pt 1)

Okay so there has been SO MUCH ANGST on my dash lately and like yeah angst is cool but you guys keep making me fucking cry so I decided to do a two part fic about the Lysandra, Aedion, and Aelin reunion because IT’S GOING TO HAPPEN DAMNIT. Also feel free to drop a prompt and a Tog or ACOMAF pairing in my messages, or just a scenario you want done because I’m already having ToG and ACOMAF fic withdrawals so fuck it, I’ll write it myself. Anyways, enjoy pt 1!

Aedion Ashryver was tired of waiting. Rowan’s cousins had found out weeks ago that Lysandra was not Aelin, though the rest of their alliances remained blissfully unaware. Endymion himself had sworn not to tell anyone. Darrow, however, was getting closer and closer to figuring it out. His Bane, of course, knew, but if the Lords found out, if the Whitethorns decided the secret was not worth keeping…
They needed hope, and fast. And Aedion… Aedion needed his cousin. His real cousin, not just the skin suit that Lysandra wore. It was already tense between them. He couldn’t figure out how to apologize, or if he even wanted to. Because she had known. She had known that Aelin didn’t expect to live. And that conversation they had had-about them- had it even been real? Or had she said what she said because she knew she’d have to one day have children with him just to keep everyone from getting suspicious at her life-long rouse?
As for Aelin… one of their last conversations had been a fight. He had doubted her, doubted everything, while she had had bigger plans in the works. And that may have very well been one of the last things he ever said to her- He shook off the thought furiously. No. No. Rowan would find her. Rowan would never stop looking until he found her. He knew that. But what state would she be in? Another foolish thought. He needed hope. He needed to believe the Gods would answer his prayers- that she’d come back to them safely.
He glanced behind him and, as per usual, it hit him like a punch in the gut, seeing his cousin but knowing it wasn’t actually her. Lysandra was frowning, though, so he didn’t have much time to dwell on the pain of seeing Aelin’s face. He perked up. "What is it?"
"Darrow’s up to something,” she said quietly in Aelin’s voice. “He’s called upon the both of us. Ren said he seemed… triumphant. Smug."
"That’s never a good sign,” he replied tightly, hauling his shield onto his back. “Let’s go, then.” They moved out of his quarters and into the hallway. They were still aboard their ship, although docked. It didn’t matter to him whether they were docked or not. The General just wanted to sleep on solid land, thank you very much. His eyes slid to Lysandra, and, as always, he felt the urge to either break something or weep at how easily she became Aelin, swaggering and confident, a smirk on her face.
He did his best to slip into the mindset he needed to play as well- the General prince, happy to serve his Queen. But it was hard when he knew who stood by him wasn't her. They made it to the captain’s cabin, where Darrow had opted to meet them. Lysandra swung open the doors in the way Aelin herself would, and drawled, “Well how nice of you, Darrow. You’ve summoned an entire party."
And he had. All of the other Lords were there, most of them looking confused as to why they’d been called there. Ansel leaned against one of the walls, and Galan sat in one of the chairs, looking perplexed and wary. On the other side of the cabin, as far away from Ansel as he could get, was Ilias, Enda and Sellene flanking him. But the Whitethorns… they seemed to have some guess at what this was about.
    Wait… no. Shit. Shit.
If Lysandra noticed anything off, she didn’t comment on it. She only said in Aelin’s best irritated voice, "Any particular reason you wished to see us?"
More alarm bells went off in Aedion’s head when he saw the look on Darrow’s face- the bastard looked smug, almost happy. If he even knew what happiness was anymore. The General schooled his face into disinterest, flanking his fake Queen as she took another step into the room. Darrow got up from where he’d been at the captain’s desk, and said too casually, "We received word from a passing vessel this morning, Your Highness." Highness. He’d made the title his own little mockery- just another reason Aedion wanted to punch the Lord in the face. "Any idea what they would have told us?"
"Are we really playing the guessing game?” Lysandra purred, sauntering forward towards the desk with complete confidence, but Aedion smelled the change in her scent. She knew what he was most likely getting at, too. “No, sweet Darrow, I have no idea. Care to share?"
Darrow’s smile was serpentine. "The sailors were thrumming with excitement and fear. They informed us that the Fae Queen Maeve fell a few weeks ago… at the hands of Aelin Ashryver Galathynius."
Lysandra, to her credit, did not miss a beat, even as Aedion himself almost wept in relief. Aelin had gotten out, she’d killed Maeve, she was alive… "Do I have a twin you never told me about, Darrow?” She gasped mockingly, turning to Aedion. “Aedion, how could you not inform me that I have a long lost sister? This is an outrage! She must have had a terrible lot of fun destroying Maeve."
"Your antics truly never tire, princess,” Darrow said, voice dripping with sarcasm.
"E-enough of this,“ spoke up Lord Sloan. He was a sniveling whelp of a man, and Aedion was surprised he’d said anything at all. Maybe because he was beginning to suspect that THIS Aelin couldn’t burn him to a crisp. "We’re all here because we demand an explanation… Majesty.” Darrow gave him a tired look at the last word.
Lysandra barked out a rough laugh, her grin positively giddy, though her scent said otherwise. “I don’t know what ‘explanation’ I can give you, Lord Sloan. What I can give ANY of you. I’m here, aren’t I? Is that not proof enough that the sailors were wrong?"
"Show us your fire, then.” It was Galan who spoke. His tone was harsh, unlike anything it had been over the weeks as he’d fawned over 'Aelin.’ His Ashryver eyes were as cool as his voice. “Prove to us, cousin."
"Unfortunately, my fire is still recovering,” Lysandra lied smoothly. “I believe I’ve told you that."
Darrow was absolutely gleeful. "How convenient an excuse,” he said. “How convenient also that you haven’t been sparring with Aedion and his Bane lackeys in the mornings. What happened to the princess so prone to bloodshed and fire?"
Still, Lysandra grinned. "Why don’t YOU try burning away 500 ilken, Darrow? Then perhaps you can get back to me.” Aedion had expected someone else to jump in, but it was eerily quiet- hell, even Ren was silent. Briefly, the General met his eyes, which were almost pleading. Aedion looked away. “Honestly, will nothing please you? I got you and your little Lords armies, like you asked."
Galan was on his feet within a second, his calm slipping away. "YOU have done nothing. My cousin could be continents away,” he nearly snarled. “She fights for her country, only to have an imposter gunning for her place?” Okay, well, it was good to see that Galan still was 'Team Aelin,’ because it looked like no one else was, except perhaps Ilias, who watched the whole exchange with a furrowed brow.
Lysandra’s eyes narrowed in the exact way Aelin’s would. “I AM your cousin,” she retorted. “Did you ask those sailors for proof that I was in another country? Did you ask them to back up this crazy theory, or did you all just assume the word of some men in a boat, men you do not even know?” Aedion held himself stiff, ready for action.
Darrow turned to him. “You’re awfully quiet.” He’d said the exact words to him before. Aedion gave a lazy grin.
"If my Queen weren’t in our company, I’d be the first to know.“
The Lord was around the desk by that point, and the air was tense, everyone watching him and Lysandra, waiting for a move to be made. Finally, Darrow inclined his head in the slightest tilt. "I suppose you are right. Maybe you do know.” He moved faster than old men ought to be able to, and by the time Aedion had lunged forward, snarling, Lysandra’s sleeve was pulled up and her old brand was visible.
    Aedion’s heart stilled.
If Darrow had been gleeful before, he was alight with excitement now. “Lady Lysandra was it?” he purred, and Aedion was immediately shoving himself between the two. But Lys… it was all she could do to let the grin melt off her face before she was morphing. There was no reason for her to stay in that body any longer.
He hadn’t realized how much he’d missed her face.
Everyone-hell, even Murtaugh and Ren, who’d witnessed her morphing before,- started. Galan’s face turned from enraged to incredulous, Ilias stood silently, the Queen of the Wastes looked like she was watching a show put on specifically for her entertainment. For a split moment, it was silent. And then the shouting commenced, mostly the blustering Lords. It was Ren who finally demanded, “Where is Queen Aelin?"
Lysandra was taking everything surprisingly well, even though Aedion could hear her heart pounding. "Our Queen had things to attend to." Obviously.
"Your Queen?” Sputtered Galan. “You are a part of her court?"
Lysandra glanced at him guiltily. "She wanted to meet you. She really did."
"And instead she sends common whores to impersonate her while she goes gallivanting around the world?” Sneered one of the other Lords.
Aedion snarled at him. “She was not gallivanting. At least she is making an effort to WIN this war.” And really, most of them, other than Ren, Murtaugh and even Darrow, who did love his country, had done nothing beneficial so far.
"Is that what she’s doing, going after a foreign Queen?“ Snapped Prince Galan, obviously wounded by the entirety of the ordeal. He had one hand on the hilt of his sword- Aedion tracked the movement warily. "At least we know part of the rumors are false. My father concluded years ago that Maeve cannot die. Aelin left her people for nothing."
And just like that, Aedion’s temper snapped. "Maeve can’t die?” He sneered at his cousin. “Is that why your father was too much of a coward to defy her orders and help us when our people were dying?” The Crown Prince of Wendlyn went red in the face.
"This is doing nothing,“ snapped Lysandra. "Aedion and I were given orders. We followed them. That does not mean Aelin didn’t wish to be here in this moment."
Darrow opened his mouth, probably to make another 'common whore’ remark that might end with a knife to his throat, but there was a knocking right before the door burst open. "My Qu-” the crewmen trailed off, shaking his head when he saw Aelin was indeed not there, then addressed Darrow instead. “My Lord, a fleet approaches, bearing the Terrassen flag."
    "From what direction?” Aedion demanded.
"West, General.“ From where they were docked, West meant the fleet very well could have been sailing from Wendlyn. Where Aelin most likely would have been kept. He was out the door before anyone could protest, Lysandra at his side, once again the steady rock in the crashing sea of his rage and other turmoil of emotions. He could think about the awful things he’d said to her, and how to go about apologizing, later.
For now, he only prayed to the Gods that on one of those ships was his cousin.

Author’s Note: Not a request, but I had this idea after last week’s episode and today’s episode only made me want to write it more???? Also: not an AU, I just alter a few things about the timeline. Like, there’s about a month gap between Maggie getting her spikes removed and the 2nd Mass travelling to the 14th Virginia (is that even what it’s called?? idk??), and in reality it’s only like a couple of days?? Also the ending’s super abrupt I am so sorry.
WARNING: Spoilers for the most recent episode of Falling Skies!! Read at your own risk!!

“Anne, please,” You pleaded, knitting your eyebrows together and giving her the most desperate look you could. “He’s, god, he’s so miserable. It’s killing me.”

“And, what?” Anne asked, frowning at you. “You think putting Maggie’s spikes into you won’t?”

You groaned loudly and tugged on your hair in annoyance. “I don’t know. Probably. But if there’s even a possibility of it working, I’m willing to take the risk. I’ll be stronger, I’ll be of more use to the Second Mass, and-”

“Ben’ll like you better?” Anne guessed, not unkindly, just thoughtfully.

You narrowed your eyes at her. “Anne, believe it or not, I don’t care about him liking me back.” You shook your head. “He’s my best friend, hell, he’s one of my only friends at this point, and he’s in so much pain right now. I can’t…” Your eyes started to water, and Anne placed a hand on your shoulder comfortingly. “I can’t handle seeing him hurting like this. I have to try and do something to help, don’t I?”

“__y/n__, I know that you want to help him, but it’s just too dangerous.” She shook her head firmly. “I’m sorry.”

“Anne.” You looked at her as seriously as you could. “The only person that’ll get hurt is me. The only person this will affect is me. Please. Just let me try. He’s my best friend, and even though I’m right here, he feels so alone. Maybe if I have the spikes he’ll actually talk to me.”

Anne sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of her nose. “I really wish I had a waiver or something for you to sign.”

You snapped your eyes up to meet hers instantly. “Is this you agreeing?” You asked hopefully, and Anne couldn’t say no to you. You were a good kid and you rarely asked for anything, and you were right; the spikes in the long run could potentially benefit you more than they could hurt you.

She let out another long sigh before speaking. “Yes.”

You threw your arms around her neck, and Anne chuckled softly before releasing you. She patted the edge of the operating table as a signal for you to hop on. “I don’t know how long alien spikes last before they die,” Anne started, pulling on a pair of reusable rubber gloves. “So let’s get started, shall we?”

You nodded instantly, tugging off your shirt and clambering onto the table. “Thank you, Anne. Thank you so much.”

Anne rolled her eyes, but there was fondness in the act. “You probably won’t be saying that when I’m putting alien parasites into your body, but I’m glad that you’re happy for the moment.” Anne tugged her hair into a quick, messy ponytail before grabbing the jar of spikes from a desk and placing them on the table next to you.

You gulped a little when you saw the way they wiggled and squirmed against the class, but when Anne asked you again if you were “One hundred percent sure that you wanted to go through with this?”, you responded immediately.

“Definitely.” You were pleased to find that your voice didn’t tremble, and you offered Anne a grin full of fake confidence. “Let’s get this over with.”

“Ow.” You grumbled almost an hour later. You carefully got to your feet with Anne’s assistance, and you were pleased when your legs didn’t buckle out from underneath you. You didn’t feel incredibly different, but you did feel a lingering tingle in the back of your mind that you thought had something to do with the spikes previously belonging to Ben.

“Thank you, Anne.” You said genuinely, hugging her tightly. “You’re the best.”

Anne mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like “Damn right”, and you thought she was going to say more before the door to the temporary medical center swung open, and both you and Anne blinked in surprise as Ben rushed into the room.

You pretended that the look of disappointment on his face didn’t sting.

“Sorry,” You commented, not all that apologetically. “You probably thought I was Maggie.” You slipped your shirt back on before bringing your gaze back to Ben’s face. “It’s just me.”

Ben raised an eyebrow at you, but he didn’t look so disappointed anymore. “What did you do?”

You shrugged noncommittally, bringing a hand to your neck and touching the spike you found there. You let out an inaudible gasp, the material felt weird and foreign underneath your fingertips, and pulled your hand away. You gave Anne a jerky wave and a small smile before gesturing for Ben to follow you out of the room.

He did as you asked, but you could feel Ben’s eyes on your neck the whole time you walked. You led him to a building that you thought was deserted and quirked an eyebrow at him lazily.

“Why’d you do that?” Ben asked, and you stiffened as Ben’s hand slipped past your neck to stroke the spike that was protruding out of your skin.

You put all your focus into ignoring that and Ben’s close proximity, trying to formulate a response. “You were sad when Maggie got them taken out. I know I’m not Maggie,” But god, sometimes you wished you were. Wished it was you Ben was in love and not her. “But you just seemed so heartbroken and so alone and I don’t know if this is even gonna help, but I wanted to try, you know? Thought it’d be worth a shot if it made you feel like you had a friend again.”

Ben’s lips tilted upwards at the edges in a small smile. “I never stopped feeling like I had a friend,” Ben pointed out, nudging you with his elbow. “It was more like a piece of my heart was ripped out.”

“Has that eased at all?” You questioned hopefully, because really you had done this to make him feel better.

“Actually, yeah.” Ben said, and even he sounded surprised. Ben wrapped an arm around your neck and pulled you close enough to brush a kiss across your forehead (and you knew that it was meant to be nice and show you that you were his friend but it just made you want more). “Thank you.”

You coughed to ease the tremble that you knew would be in your voice. “Anytime, Benji.”

“Want to go for a run?” Ben asked, sidling up beside you. You were currently in the process of taking inventory of how much ammo the Second Mass had, but you were you could find someone else to do it.

“Sure.” You responded easily, and the smile alone on Ben’s face was worth making someone else do the job for you. “Give me a second so I can find someone to take over this?” You requested, and Ben nodded, bouncing on the balls of his feet.

You didn’t understand why he was so excited about a run, but it was nice to see him excited about anything, so you weren’t going to question it.

You found Matt quickly enough, and it wasn’t hard to convince him to do the inventory for you. With a hug, a promise of “I’ll give you a piggyback ride until I pass out when I get back”, and a ruffle of his hair, you and Ben were off.

You shifted your gun several times as you ran, the strap was biting uncomfortably into your skin, before Ben slipped the gun off your shoulder and slung it over his own.

“You don’t have to do that.” You tried to protest, frowning at him as you jogged alongside him.

“I know.” Ben said, and after a beat of silence, “I want to”.

And if your cheeks tinged a pale shade of pink at his words, well, that was definitely only because you were running and exerting yourself.

“So, why’d we run all the way here?” You asked curiously, taking a seat on a log to catch your breath. The spikes helped with your athleticism (which had been pretty much nonexistent before), but you were definitely not in as good of shape as Ben.

“Because we have some training to do.” Ben said, surprisingly chipper.

You raised an eyebrow at him. “Training for what?” Ben pointed one of his thumbs at you, and you looked at him incredulously. “What do I need training for?”

“You’re stronger and faster now, but you need to know how to fight. Better than before. Once everyone else learns about your spikes, they’re going to expect you to stick with me. So you need to really know how to fight.”

“Lemme guess, you’re gonna train me, like, Mulan style? I’ll be able to defeat the Skitters after one song?”

Ben rolled his eyes at you, but you could the amusement dancing in the green orbs. “Probably not. I mean, I’ll do my best, but one song? That’s pushing it. We’re going to need a whole soundtrack.”

You stared at him for half a second before bursting into laughter. “I can’t believe you went along with that. You never go along with my jokes anymore.” He had when you first met, closer to the beginning of the invasion. You and Ben would always argue about whether comic books (you) or manga (Ben) were better, but he had gotten less and less joyful as the war had dragged on.

Ben shrugged, but you could see that he wanted to laugh too. “I’m trying something new.”

It felt like there was something else to that sentence that he wasn't mentioning, but you ignored it for the time being and climbed to your feet. You spread your feet a little bit and got into a defensive position. “Lesson number one,” You sang quietly, effectively erupting into another fit of laughter.

It took you a little over ten minutes to calm down, but during that time, you managed to make Ben laugh three times (three!!), so you figured the slight delay was worth it.

You were sitting on your bed in the room that the 14th Virginia had given you when you felt a wave of agonizing pain wash over you. You could feel, practically picture, that something bad was happening to Ben to make him feel such intense agony.

You stumbled to your feet, and you were so, so tempted to call out for Ben, but that was stupid and you knew better than that, so you remained silent as you let your spikes help lead you to wherever the hell Ben was.

They led you to a door, so you looked at it thoughtfully before jiggling it off (thank you, enhanced strength!!) and stepping into the room. You gritted your teeth when you saw Ben strapped down onto a table, the man from earlier that evening that had wanted to touch Ben’s spikes standing over him.

One of Ben’s spikes was already removed, and oh god, just looking at the wound made you feel sick.

“Hey, how’d you get in here?” The guy asked curiously, and without answering, you punched him square in the face. You could feel the bones in his nose shatter, and you smiled a little smugly as he fell to the ground. The man let out a harsh grunt of pain, and you climbed on top of him, keeping his body pinned to the floor.

“If you even think about touching him again, I’ll break a lot more than your nose.” You hissed. The man struggled underneath you, trying to get to his feet, so you cracked his head against the ground once, just hard enough to knock him out, and rose to your feet.

Your breath caught in your throat at the sight of Ben, so broken and defenseless, and you trailed a finger along the missing spike. You could feel a dull ache along your own spine at the mere thought of your own spikes being removed, and you hastily shook your head and undid the straps holding Ben down.

He seemed to be mostly unconscious as you helped him into a sitting position, so you shook his shoulders lightly to wake him up. After nearly a minute of you shaking him and him barely stirring, you started to think that you might need a different plan of attack.

“Benjamin Mason, if you don’t wake up right now I swear I’ll-”

“What?” Ben teased, finally awake. “Kiss me?”

You nodded gravely. “If that’s what it would’ve taken.”

Ben pretended to be disappointed, shaking his head at himself. “I should’ve stayed asleep a little longer then.”

You rolled your eyes at him and helped him to his feet, helping him make his way around the body on the floor. You halted suddenly when you realized something. “Where are we supposed to go? They’re gonna find us and they’re going to hurt you more and,” Ben was surprised by the unshed tears he saw glistening in your eyes. “I don’t want them to hurt you anymore.”

“Hey,” Ben reassured, hooking a hand around your neck and sliding you forward so that he could land a kiss on your forehead. “We’re gonna be okay. They’re not gonna hurt me anymore, not when I have you around to protect me.”

You tried to let that be reassuring, and you almost started walking again when you remembered that Ben was without a shirt, and that that might be just a tad suspicious. You slipped off your hoodie, which you didn’t think was big enough for him, and tugged off your shirt as well, a loose-fitting scrap of black cloth that you hoped would fit Ben. You moved to hand it to him when you realized that Ben’s eyes were on your unclothed torso, and you rolled your eyes (he was a boy, and even if he didn’t see you that way, you were an attractive person and you appreciated that he seemed to think so too, at the very least).

You pushed the fabric into his hands and urged him to put it on, definitely not letting your eyes linger on his own bare stomach for longer than was probably necessary, sliding your hoodie back on. It covered your spikes, which was good, because you were pretty sure that it was the only reason no one had known that you had them too (if they had, you would’ve been strapped to a table with Ben, no doubt about it).

“So, where exactly are we supposed to go?” You whispered, Ben’s fingers warm against yours as he led you down a hallway.

He was silent for a moment, and you were starting to think that he hadn’t heard you when he murmured something you couldn’t make out and shoved you both into a nearby closet. The closet was smaller than either of you expected, so you were left pressed up against his chest, and Ben was forced to wrap his arms around your waist to steady himself.

You really hoped that he couldn’t feel just how fast your heartbeat was.

“Why are we in here?” You dared to ask after a moment of silence.

“Saw a soldier.” Ben whispered back. “Didn’t want to run into him.”

You nodded in understanding and moved closer to Ben without meaning to. In the process of doing so, you realized that Ben’s heartbeat was just as quick and unsteady as yours was.

You dragged your gaze up to meet his, and you were only a little surprised to find Ben already looking at you.

“Afraid of the soldier?” You spoke softly, and Ben shook his head.

“You?” Ben questioned back.

You shook your head too, and a gentle smile flickered onto Ben’s lips.

“Can I kiss you?” Ben asked, still taking care to keep his voice low because this wasn’t exactly the best time to be having this conversation.

You hesitated for a second. “Depends on if you’re still in love with Maggie.”

He shook his head instantly. “No.” Ben ran a hand through his hair sheepishly. “I’ve been over that for a while.”

“Thanks a lot for telling me.” You hissed, because fuck you Ben Mason, I’ve been waiting for you to get over her. Before Ben could protest or ask what exactly that meant, you were surging forwards and connecting your lips with his.

Your arms twisted around his neck as best as they could in the small space, and Ben’s arms tightened around your waist. You could feel Ben’s pulse fluttering underneath your fingertips, and it made you smile into the kiss because you were the cause of that. You did that to him.

You felt Ben smile into the kiss too, and you pressed your lips forward a little harder, a little more firmly, and you could hear your own pulse pounding in your ears. Ben’s teeth clacked against yours a couple of times, and your nose nudged uncomfortably against his, but even as Ben murmured apologies, you whispered reassurances.

“There’s no need to be sorry. It’s gonna take some practice, Benji.” You mumbled against his lips, and Ben made a grateful sound before bringing your lips back to his.

And you knew that when you went out of the closet, a soldier would end up finding you and you’d get thrown in the brig, but for the moment, you could pretend that you and Ben were just two teenagers sneaking around during school.

And since that scenario didn’t involve either of you getting tortured, you wanted to stay in the musty, crowed supply closet for as long as you could. So when Ben’s lips found yours for a third time, you didn’t protest. You went willingly, gladly taking whatever he was willing to give you.

(Who knew when the next time you’d get to kiss him would be? Certainly not you. You were going to take as long as you could to do it now, before it was too late.)

  • "How could you tell me that I'm great when they chew me up, spit me out, pissed on me?"
  • "When I wake up I’m afraid, somebody else might take my place."
  • "All my friends always lie to me."
  • "You’re too mean, I don’t like you, fuck you anyway."
  • "You make me wanna scream at the top of my lungs."

  • "What do you want from me?"
  • "She planned ahead for a year."
  • "I fell in love today."
  • "There aren't any words that you can say that could ever get my mind to change."
  • "You're a doll, you are flawless."
  • "I just can't wait for love to destroy us."
  • "You better not leave me."
  • "No food to eat, all the money's been wasted from last week."
  • "Some part of me feels a little bit naked and empty."
  • "I still believe something is out there."
  • "All I'll ever be is partly settled in."
  • "They show you how to swim, then they throw you in the deep end."
  • "Float away, then come right back to me."

watch out before you fall in love with him
don’t make him your world
because once you make him your sun you will just be another one of his planets that circulates around him
and does whatever he asks you to do
and don’t fall for his trap that when he tells you to lose weight or to untie your hair because he loves you and wants you to look your best for him
please don’t believe that for a second, you were beautiful before you met him and you will be even more beautiful once he leaves.
before you put him on some pedestal, see him when he’s mad at you
wether its a “ill hurt him if he ever tries to talk to my girl again” or if its a “its your fault anyways cover up next time”.
see if he takes your side on things or if he always finds a way to blame you
pick up on the small stuff because trust me if he grabs you and leaves your arm aching for the next 3 days just for looking at his phone because he’s texting some girl claiming “we are just friends”  but you aren't stupid enough to believe that he can spit down you are beautiful and i love you down some girls throat and just expect you to believe “we are just friends"
maybe you can because maybe i was never beautiful to you or maybe you never loved me, i was good to use, push around and order around.
i swore id never let anyone ever get the best of me but you started showing up in improbable places and your touch was taking over my body, sometimes it felt like you were trying to make sure to hurt me even when you were not around.
your hands were still choking me but you weren't there,
just in my mind
if he doesn't motivate you to love yourself and to do good for yourself he doesn’t love you, he loves the idea of you and what you do for him.
he needs your money to buy him stuff, he needs your heart to take care of him and he needs you because there is no one else willing to do what you do for him.
that’s not love thats bored
that’s him being bored and worried about being alone
that’s him stringing you along but you are running out of place to hold on to him you can see him slipping away.
you never forget your first, any kind of first
it could be the first test you failed
the first boy or girl you loved
the first person who made you hate yourself
your first true best friend
or the first time you lost your virginity
you never forget your first time something new happens
but trust me you will find a better man than the first one who tore you apart and left scars in places no one can see
fuck sometimes i wish people could see the scars you left on my heart and on my ribs and in my brain, how were you able to in carve your name into my heart and tattoo yourself into my brain and in my memory, i swear to god you broke my ribs when you left i was bed ridden for weeks because my world turned into a big dark grey cloud and the numbest you left me with instead of that goodbye still resonates in me.
i’m still waiting for an answer
don’t ask for closure, don’t even expect it
we are not all that lucky to get it
i had to make my own closure.
i wish i would have met you later maybe i would have handled it better. i wouldn't have push people away or killed my sadness by destroying myself.
i became a regular at the hospital with my panic attacks and i tried to tare off the wristbands but they were almost as resistant as i was to your name calling.
it went from i love yous to i hate yous
to forever to i wanna fucking leave you
i tried so hard for one guy who never even told me i was beautiful unless i asked him.
you never knew if today would be a good or bad day, because it was always walking on a very narrow rope when being with him
you wanted to be his world but in reality he dragged you around like all you were good for was for his own benefits.
and i hope you fucking listen to me when i say that
he will never change
and he will never stay
and he will never come back.
he left you because he knows what he did wasn't right
but  that doesn't mean you are any less human for the ways you tried to numb your pain.
you can cry your eyes out a day later or 5 years later
just don’t think his voice is the only one you will love to listen to and don’t think his touch is the only one you will ever feel and please don’t think he is the only person that will ever want to be with you.
you have more beauty and love inside you and he hated how perfect you were and that’s why he had to tear you down, because he hated himself.
i guess i understand it now he never loved me, he loved the love i gave him and my love turned into his self love
and that’s when the tables turned
and i became the one who hated myself, the only difference is he wasn't there to ever help me and love me back.

its a trap don’t make him your world

Part two

“FRIDAY, open the God damn door!” You yelled as the garage door refused to open. It had been just over five minutes and you were sick of waiting. You got out the car and grabbed your case from the boot – you were leaving the Tower no matter what. So what if instead of driving, you had to walk to the hotel? You walked back into the Tower and towards the front door, nothing but determination in your face.

The Tear In Maya's Hart

thank you guys so much for 500+ followers!!! this title’s been in my drafts since i made this corny url and girl meets creativity gave me an opportunity. so here’s some super cheesy fluff in which maya is older but still a fan of twenty one pilots.

“My heart is my armor. She’s the tear in my heart.”

The blonde-haired beauty sat at her desk, mumbling the words of an old favorite song. With both earbuds in and a pen in hand, her blue eyes gazed in pride at her most recent sketch. She was supposed to be getting work done but as she’s found in the past, it’s hard to focus on paperwork when there’s an empty room of art supplies all to yourself. The song was coming to an end and just as she reached for her phone to replay it, a knock came from the arch of the open classroom door.

“Hey kid!” Maya smiled at a blue-haired teenager standing at the doorway and pulled the earbuds out from her ears. “What’s up?”

Dinner With Parents
  • Justin's POV
  • Babe can you help me with my watch?" She smiled and walked over, "course baby" She's so beautiful and she's all mine. "Babe why are you shaking? Are you feeling alright? Do I need to cancel?" she asked as she put the back of her head in my forehead "No, no, no I'm fine I'm just a little nervous babe that's all." She laughed, "It's my just my mom and dad" "Exactly, it's your mom and dad, what if they don't like me?" She turned around and looked in the mirror and put her necklace on. "You'll be fine Justin, I promise." I walked up and put my arms around her as she placed a kiss on her neck. "You're right, you look beautiful babe." I murmured against her neck. "Thanks handsome, what time is it?" I looked at my new watch I got for this occasion, "7: 08, we have to go" I opened the door for her and walked behind her locking the door on the way out.
  • I'm about to meet my girlfriends parents, as far as I've heard her dad is intimidating but what father isn't? It's his little girl and here comes this random guy sweeping her off her feet. No dad is okay with that but other than that her mom seems really sweet. The ride was really quiet, the nervousness in air was so thick I could probably cut it. I got reservations at this really nice place in town, it was small but a classy place with the best menu in California, I wanted the best for my girl. When we got there we kinda just sat in the car for a few minutes. "We have to get out at some point babe" ,she said looking at me. "I know, I know." "You ready then?" I nodded, "Yeah." She leaned over and gave me a peck on the lips. "Wait there okay?" She nodded confused, "okaaay.", she said. I got out and walk around to her side to open her door for her, "Oh thank you," she said and smiled. "I'm so excited for you to meet them, it'll be great." I nodded with agreement with everything she said until we sat down.
  • She kept rambling on with these stories she's told me a thousand times and it was cute, but I wasn't paying attention. For once it wasn't because I was nervous, it was because I just noticed how good she looked in her little dress. God damn "Baby you look so sexy." I blurted put interrupting her. "Oh I do huh?" She said with a slight smirk on her face, "Yes baby, you do.." I trailed off going in to kiss her but I was interrupted but her clearing her throat. "What?" She did a little head nod and I spun around almost falling out my seats. There were her parents, I jumped out off my seat and banged my knee on the table. Her dad already looked very displeased. I out my hand out to meet his and he had a death grip on me. "Hello Mr.(Y/L/N), so nice to finally meet you sir." I tried to discretely but desperately get my hand out of his. When he finally let go I rubbed my hand because of the pain. I'm not weak but geez he was defiantly stronger than me. "Hello Mrs. (Y/L/N) you look very lovely I can see where (Y/N) gets her looks from." I said smiling and kissed her hand, her laughed lightly and playfully slapped my shoulder, "Oh stop it you, it's nice to finally meet you too!" We all got seated and there was a lot of conversations going and the waiter had cam around with a few times, he kept bringing us rolls. A while had passed and I began to relax, "What exactly are your intentions with my daughter Justin?" Everyone looked at me, "Oh uhm I just want to make her the happiest girl since she makes me the happiest man," I said looking at her, damn she looks so good "..And I wanna provide for her and give her what she deserves, which is everything!" I looked back to her father and he just nodded. "You seem to be on the right track, what about marriage?" I looked between everyone, "W-we've talked about marriage, (Y/N) and I, it's bound to happen someday.." He didn't say anything back but went about his conversations with his wife.
  • "Babe my knee hurts from earlier." I whispered in her ear and she giggled, " My poor baby." ,she whispered putting her hand on my knee and rubbing it, her laughing brought us some attention because her dad continued to ask me more questions. "Have you heard Lebron is leaving the Heat?" (Y/N) moved her hand up and looked at me, "I did, which sucks for the Heat but at least now the Cavs got new fans right?" I laughed and so did he, I guess a few drinks lightened him up. He kept talking to me which was really nice actually, but out of no where I (Y/N)'s hand on my crotch and my eyes got wide and my knee flew up again, "Are you okay there buddy?" I looked back at him quickly, "Yeah I'm great, thanks for asking." He looked confused but sparked up a conversation about the World Cup with me, as she kept palming me through my pants. Fuck I'm so hard, I put my hand on hers because I wanted her to ease up, why would she do this right now? I looked at her and she just smiled and kept going.
  • I was biting my lip so hard trying to stop my self from groaning, "I'll be right back." Her father stood up and walked away so now her mother was asking about my family and all the good stuff. I can't focus, how am I supposed to focus? She kept moving harder and I started to shuffle around. She gripped it really hard and I choked right as her dad sat and the stared. She stopped and I look at her as she patted my back, "Are you okay?" I just kept a blank stare at her and she laughed, she put her back in my thigh and we all continued to eat but she, she just wouldn't quit. She kept going and I could even eat because I might choke. I feel a feeling in my stomach and my head turned to her so fast. She knew what she was doing.
  • She palmed faster and harder and I was pretty much a whimpering mess, "(Y/N) s-stop..." She shook her head, "Nope" oh fuck, there it was. We both knew I always moan when I cum and the only thing I could do was shove a dinner roll in my mouth. It kinda muffled out my moan but not enough because her parents looked at me. "You okay there Justin?" Her dad asked and I hurriedly chewed and swallowed it. "Yeah, that dinner roll was just really good," I panted out, "..it was Just a really good roll." I half laughed and (Y/N) burst out laughing.
  • she's gonna get it later.

So how about prompt like this – Drarry got together and Lucissa got divorce, because Narcissa is lesbian and while she and Lucius got to love each other over the years it wasn't what the wanted and they broke after the war to start anew, but the Malfoy family needs a heir and thus appears the idea that Hermione will be surrogate (there's no Romione any more). Who's the father is up to you, though I'm partial to Lumione <smirks>. I love your oneshots so if the idea works for you… Regards, M

Harry slid into the seat next to her, ignoring the din of the cafeteria. “So, I’ve got a proposition for you,” he said, brightly.

Hermione shot him a tired glare. Ever since her break-up with Ron just a week prior, she hadn’t been in the best of moods. No, it wasn’t as though the relationship was worth trying to keep alive, but losing a boyfriend of three years was still a crap feeling. Worse yet, she was pretty sure he was already ready to move on (with Luna of all people), and was just holding back to preserve her feelings.

Which was very nice of him, and which totally fucking pissed her off

“Why does that sentence fill me with dread?” she asked the air, stabbing at her meatloaf. She really had no appetite. And if she ever did get one, it would probably evaporate when she imagined Ron and Luna making goo-goo eyes at each other.

He shot her a wry grin. There was still sympathy lingering in his eyes. “So you know how Draco’s dad is pressuring him for a kid.”

“So you’re going to implant a synthetic man-womb up your arse?” she guessed, sarcastically.

“That’s hilarious, but no,” he said, his grin widening. “Um, we were thinking, actually, about hiring a surrogate. There’s some nonsense about family lines, so the sperm would be Draco’s, and I mean we could pick the woman out of a catalog, but… we were talking about it, and I think we’d both like it to be you.”

“Me?” she huffed, incredulous. “Why? Isn’t he worried that I’ll pass this hair on to the poor thing?”

Harry shrugged. “He says the Malfoy genes will override your aesthetic deficiencies,” he said, laughing when she shot him a furious glare. “His words, not mine. I floated Ginny as an option, but I think he really wants to make sure the kid is smart. Besides, he’s worried she’s baby-hungry and will want to keep it.”

“I don’t think I particularly want to spend nine months in pure misery,” she said, wrinkling her nose. “Not even if I was keeping it afterwards.”

He sobered a bit. “We’ll do everything we can to make it easy for you,” he promised, softly. “And if you end up having to take a sabbatical from work, you know, that’s what the money’s for. The going rate is a year’s salary, but I’m reasonably sure he would drop enough money on you to fund the world’s earliest retirement if you asked for it.”

Like she was going to ask for that from her best friend. “I’m honored, Harry, but…” she murmured, trailing off.

“Think about it,” he suggested. “It’s your decision, ultimately, but… I wouldn’t want anyone else to carry my kid, you know.” He watched her poke at her meatloaf, and repeated, “Think about it. And if the answer’s no, you know, that’s okay.”

“Tell that to Draco,” she drawled, and he laughed, clapping her on the back. With that, he stood, and hurried back to his desk.

Free to be me is awesome! you've got to continue. Cos I'm hooked :)

You asked for it, Sunglasses.

'It wasn’t a question, dumbass.’

'Well that’s a reply for you in anyway.’ Steve replied, ignoring his sister’s incessant requests.

'Do you want me to tell mom what you were actually doing last Saturday night?’ Gail said in a sing-song voice. Damn, she was saving that one for something important. Well, this was important.

Steve narrowed his eyes at her. She must be bluffing.

’ I heard that you almost got caught at the bar with all those fake -’ Gail continued, knowing her brother would have to surrender now.

'What. Do you want.’ Steve muttered through his teeth. He was going to have to be more discreet the next time.

Gail smiled. Now, this was going somewhere.

Gail spotted the brunette at the top of the benches in the grounds. She never understood what the brunette did there for so long, every evening of the week. She did spend most of her time reading and Gail wondered why she just didn’t go to the library instead.

Of course Holly didn’t text her. And Gail didn’t really know what to make of that. It had been 2 weeks since she slipped her number into Holly’s locker, and the brunette hadn’t done anything at all. Gail was miserable. This woman wasn’t going to go easy on her, and she going to have to was pull out all her best tricks.

Gail had tried her best to not spy on her, but it was hard. Especially today. She expected the brunette to be swamped with hoards of people today, but it was just like any other day. Holly just went about her day as usual. And that really fascinated Gail. A lot.

She took a deep breath before walking to the bleachers. She knew she was going to have to play it cool. One last check of her satchel, she made sure her leather jacket was alright and her hair wasn’t a mess and she was good to go.

'Nerd!’ she called out with wave, climbing up to the top of the benches. She saw the brunette rolling her eyes at her, but that wasn’t going to stop her. Nope. Not today.

'If it isn’t 'Smoking’ hot.’

Gail took a seat next to the brunette, not caring what she thought of it.

'If you must know, I am on chocolate now.’

Holly laughed at that, ‘Chocolate’s better for the lungs.’

Gail nodded at the book, ‘You would know that, Holly.’ emphasizing on the name.

Holly eyed her with confusion, trying to remember if she ever told this annoying blonde her name.

'How did -’

'Text book, Nerd, Text book.’

Holly looked down and realized she had written her name on the cover of her textbook. Points to the blonde.

'Are you spying on me?’

Gail scoffed at that, she would have dearly loved to know more about Holly, if only she could. Her brother had told her only 2 things, and as hard as Gail tried, she could only pick up a few notes on the brunette.

'No Sherlock, saw it the other day at the coffee shop.’

Holly nodded hearing that. Clearly she had underestimated this blonde. Now she had to beg the blonde to get her name. Drat.

'And since I’m on chocolate now, why don’t I get my daily fix?’ Gail continued, carefully pulling out a little box out of her satchel, hoping nothing was too badly squished. It was a box of chocolate donuts, which surprisingly had only 2 . Gail took one and offered one to the brunette, who eyed her with suspicion.

'They’re not laced with nicotine - or sleeping powder, Scouts honor!’ Gail promised, thinking that perhaps she hadn’t thought through this plan enough.

'I was just wondering who buys 2 donuts instead of a dozen or two.’ Holly replied with a smile. Gail internally groaned at that. That had been the original plan, but she didn’t have much money left over after her big purchase.

'Just take Nerd, it won’t kill you.’ Gail insisted, and heaved a sigh of relief as the brunette took the donut. Atleast something went to plan.

Holly took a bite of her donut, and suddenly laughed.

'How am I Sherlock?’

Gail looked back at Holly with a mouthful of donut, an eyebrow raised at the brunette. Ok maybe the brunette wasn’t right in the head.

'You got my name off the book. That makes you Sherlock.’

'And yet, you’re the nerd.’ Gail finished taking another huge bite of her donut, which seemed to help calm her nerves.Holly grinned at that and took another bite of her donut as well. This wasn’t as bad as she expected it to be. Atleast she wasn’t fainting yet.

'When’s your birthday?’ Gail blurted out, swallowing the last of her donut, as innocently and laid-back as she could manage.Holly looked at Gail in surprise; it seemed like such a random yet eerily planned query.

'If you must know, it’s today.’ Holly replied as casually as she could, though she couldn’t help smiling a little. She wasn’t big on birthdays, not one for huge parties and get-togethers. She just loved having a day as blissful as anyother. Fact was not many people knew it was her birthday, and Holly wasn’t one for advertising the fact.

'Wow, Nerd, a happy birthday I guess.’ Gail replied with a happy smile on her face. Gail had thought the brunette would have been as elusive as ever and she was glad she finally got a reply from her that wasn’t a comment to hit back at her snark.

'Thanks, Sherlock.’ Holly laughed, finishing her donut and gearing up to leave home. After all it was quite late in the evening.

'And thanks for the donut, but I’ve really got to get home.’ Holly started, packing up her books in her bagpack. Gail hadn’t thought of that in her plan, however. Next time I’m getting a party planner.

'Well I’ll walk you home.’ Gail blurted out again, desperately racking her brains to think of someway to complete the plan.

'To spy on me?’

Gail rolled her eyes at that. Damn this woman was really such a paranoid person.

'See Nerd, spying on you would be me calling up the Security Council and getting your number and your address.’

Holly chuckled at that. ‘So, thank you for not spying on me, but I think I can get home just fine.’ getting up and walking down the benches. Gail grabbed her satchel and climbed down behind the brunette. Elusive mode back on again I suppose.

'Come on Nerd, no one should walk home alone on their birthday.’

Holly smiled at that. Maybe she was going too hard on this blonde. After all, she had given her a donut. And had wished her a happy birthday, inspite of the death-wish she had given her a few weeks back. She waited till the blonde was at the bottom of the bleachers, and the two began walking to the brunette’s home.

'Dare I ask why you were smoking that day. Or attempting to smoke?’ Holly began, slowly walking with this blonde. Damn it’s too weird to ask for names now.

Gail groaned. She wasn’t exactly comfortable about her little escapade that day.

'I was trying to piss off my mom.’ Gail replied in a flat tone.

'And giving yourself cancer would do that how exactly?’ Holly shot back, wondering if this blonde did actually have any sense of self-care.

'I don’t know! Seemed a cool idea to begin with. Which reminds me - what do you suggest I do to piss off my mom?’

'Why are you so intent on annoying your mother!?’ Holly wondered out loud.

'She so badly wants me to be the model kid. Just as she’s the model police-officer.’ Gail replied, recalling all the times her mother brought up the 'police officer’ talk.

'Police Officer? You’re Steven Peck’s sister aren’t you!’ Holly gasped in surprise, it all made sense now. The siblings were notorious for their ideals of rebellion.

'Look who’s Sherlock now.’ Gail replied with a bitter smile. 'So, what do you suggest I do then?’ she continued, hoping to take the conversation back to the list of things she could do to irritate her mother.

'What exactly did you have in mind?’ Holly asked, not exactly aware of the lengths this blonde was willing to go for revenge.

'I was thinking of flunking science - ’ Holly stopped in her tracks to glare at her.

The glare was still on her face, not a hint of a smile there.

'I guess talking to a nerd about flunking school isn’t appropriate.’

'Nope.’ Holly replied, starting to walk home. 'What else you got?’

Gail sighed, she was running out of options of which Holly would approve.

'Last resort was dyeing my hair black.’ Gail sighed, sure that Holly would start on a sermon about all the chemicals in the dyes and so on.

'But I like you blonde.’ Holly replied with a soft smile, stopping outside her house, putting an end to their evening stroll.

Gail had been so surprised at that answer, she almost didn’t realize she had reached Holly’s house. Holly smiled and left the blonde who was staring at her she walked up to the front porch. For some reason, she loved leaving the blonde hanging on her last words as she did.

'Bye.’ she called as she walked up to the front door. Before she could press the bell however, Gail had already rushed to the porch as was standing next to her.

'What do you think you’re doing?’ Holly whispered, afraid her parents might hear them. They wouldn’t exactly mind, but she was sure she wouldn’t be able to bear all their prodding questions.

'I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday again,’ Gail whispered back, following Holly’s suit. 'And give you this.’ Gail fished out a book which was gift wrapped and Holly stared at the blonde in disbelief.

I don’t know if you’d like it and I certainly didn’t want to see your face as you opened it so here,’ Gail finished, thrusting the gift in Holly’s hands and sprinted off into the night. Holly for once, was tongue tied and stared the tag on the present.

'Happy Birthday Holly, From Gail.’ it read. Holly smiled at that. Got her name now.

Taking her present to the privacy of her bed room, she tore off the cover - wondering what on Earth could Gail have gotten her.  She certainly hadn’t expected this.

A hard back copy of Grant’s Dissector.

Gail rushed home as quickly as she could, hoping to shake off her nerves in the mad dash. When she got home, she noticed the message on her phone and heaved a huge sigh of relief.

'Loved the book Gail.- Holly.’

Gail felt like she could have done a victory dance. She had managed the brunette’s number. At last.

Collide Prt. 3

Prompt: Riley Matthews is a struggling writer who works as a bartender to pay off her student loans. Lucas Friar is a rich kid from Texas who’s lost his way. One night fate brings them together causing their two different worlds to collide.
A/N: This chapter is mainly to give a little bit of backstory on Riley and its meant to be the lead up to her opening up to Lucas and explaining why she’s changed so much since high school. Obviously something went down between her and Maya which caused the switch in personalities. I also wanted to include her second guessing her initial judgement of Lucas. Hope this wasn't too boring. xo

Part 3 - “Our Spot.”

I considered calling him but in the end I decided no good would come of it. No matter how charming or relentless he was we were still from two different worlds. He’s champagne and trust funds and I’m cheap beer and student loans.

Every so often I get a few days off and it just so happened that this week was the week where my presence wasn’t needed at work. We were over staffed for the weekend so Lou offered me a three day vacay and I took it.

Whenever I do have off I like to drive down to Connecticut and visit one of my oldest friends, Isaiah. He and I met in high school and got along straight away. He is probably the funniest person I’ve ever met. He’s witty and clever and always has the best stories. We had a short lived fling for a while but it was over before it ever really started. We both knew we were doing it for the wrong reasons and we also knew we were better off as friends.

I get the closest parking spot on the street than I can find and figure its best to just walk the rest of the way. Downtown New Haven is beautiful in the fall. It’s a thing New England is known for but it’s the beautiful architecture and small shops that surround the green that really make it pop.

Zay moved to CT right after graduation. He was a drama major at Southern State and after that he started performing in plays and productions of musicals. He was close enough to the city for him to commute if he needed to but he had his own little actor’s studio here and a loft right above where he lived. Big enough for just one with huge windows that overlooked the town square. It’s in my top 5 favorite places to be.

I walk in just in time to catch the ending of what sounded like Cell Block Tango. I stand quietly towards the back until they’re finished to avoid any interruptions. Once their rehearsal is over Zay spots me in the back and waves me over.

“Well if it isn’t Cotton Candy Face.” He chuckles, “C’mere you.” He pulls me in for a hug and I can’t help but sink into it. Sometimes you don’t know how much you need a hug from a friend until you get it. Nothing was wrong, it was just one of those days where you just don’t feel like yourself.

“I needed that.” I sigh when I finally let him go.

On a flight over the Atlantic, all Lily wants to do is keep to herself, but her talkative neighbor causes a shift in priorities
Beta: the illustrious Nai | (ff.net)

‘Cause all I know is we said, “Hello.”
And your eyes look like coming home
All I know is a simple name
Everything has changed
All I know is you held the door
You’ll be mine and I’ll be yours
All I know since yesterday is everything has changed

-Everything Has Changed (Taylor Swift, feat. Ed. Sheeran)

Lily Evans tapped her foot impatiently, standing in line at Starbucks. The very tall, very messy boy in front of her was taking a ridiculous amount of time, not to mention that he had slipped in front of her with just an apologetic look. The barista behind the counter was fluttering her lashes quite ridiculously, part of the hold up. The other part was he apparently liked to hear himself and would not shut up.

Finally he paid and left, and she stepped up to the machine. 'One vanilla latte, please. Grande.’

'Hmm?’ The barista asked, tearing her eyes away from the previous customer with a starry look in her eyes. Lily sighed and repeated her order. 'And hurry, please. My plane is about to board.’ She handed over her money, dropped the change in the tip box and moved out of line to the pickup.

She stood next to the afore-mentioned messy boy and noticed that the barista had added a heart at the end of his name. She sighed again and reached for her coffee.

As she straightened, the boy whirled around and knocked straight into her. Coffee went flying everywhere, but the majority splashed down onto her shirt.

Niall Horan (Request AU)- PR Stunt

“Niall! Y/N! Give us a picture? Have a smile! Kiss you two! The fans want another kiss!”

“Alright, lads, thanks but we have to make our way inside now,” Niall says, smoothly sliding both of you into the awards show lobby. He let’s go of your hand (much to his demise) and walks over to the other boys, so that you could go to the toilets. You walk in, trying to breathe calmly. This whole stunt was publicity, but it sure as hell didn’t feel like it.

“Niall, I think we have to go back inside now,” you say, walking over to where he and the rest of his band-mates were standing.

“Alright. Show-time,” he says, grabbing your hand and interlocking your fingers. Your face automatically drops, knowing that you wish this wasn't just for show, that it was real, but it’s not.

“Hey, you okay? What’s wrong?” he says, stopping his tracks and making you look at him in the eyes.

“Nothing. I’m fine. Let’s go,” you say, starting to walk before he could even get the chance to ask another question.

The rest of the night was made with little conversation, mainly you picking at food and quickly checking your phone for text notifications from your best friend.

You were going to talk to Simon in the morning. You didn’t want this anymore. You didn’t want to pretend that being a pretend girlfriend didn’t affect you. It most certainly did.

The Press. The Awards Shows. The Tours.

It all started seven months ago because management thought it would be a good idea for Niall to be seen with some new people. He was always around the band, Mark, a few family friends, and family. But no one other than that.

Simon met you at a concert of theirs he attended. You were sweet and level-headed enough to handle the job, as he said himself, but the job entailed much more than a down-to-earth attitude. In order to fake being Niall’s girlfriend, it would take serious dedication and a definite separation between feelings and business, as he was, of course, your favourite.

You met Niall a few hours after the concert and conversation with Simon. Niall was completely turned off by the idea, apologetic to you that his team would even think about doing such a thing, but he knew it had to be done for publicity, as much as he hated to admit it. He knew it wasn’t your fault, that you just were roped into doing a job. But in his head, he found you stunningly gorgeous and wished you becoming his girlfriend didn’t have to come through this occasion. You were probably the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen. But that’s the problem with business deals- you cannot mix business with pleasure.

He’d taken a liking to you after a few hours of conversation, the boys as well. Small talk turned into long, hourly conversations, which then turned into nightly phone calls and lunch dates. As much as you’d hate to admit it, you were slowly falling for him. The man of your dreams was right in front of you and you could do nothing about it because this was work. Little did you know, he was falling, too. Way to hard and fast for his desire. He hated it and loved it how whenever you would laugh his heart rate would pick up, or when you looked at him he would feel the urge to kiss you. Or when you had to hold hands, he never wanted to let go.

One day, after being with each other for hours, he was sitting on the carpeted floor in your flat, drinking a glass of wine, surprised at how much he liked it, and was waiting for you to come back with the popcorn for the movie. The last ten minutes he spent contemplating whether or not to ask you. Scared of how you might react and he surely did not want to lose his best friend. When you made your way back and sat down next to him, he decided he had nothing left to lose.

“Y/N, I have to ask you something. But you have to promise you won’t stop being my best friend, okay?"

"Of course, Ni, what’s wrong with you?"

"I want you to be my girlfriend. Like in reality. I don’t want this to be a PR Stunt anymore. I want it to be real and not pretend to not feel anything when we have to kiss, because I do feel something, as much as I try to deny it to myself I do. You’ve become my best friend in a matter of months and I love you. I have for the last six months."

"Niall, I love you, too,” you say, leaning in and kissing him lightly, only to have him pull you back in.

You both laugh when you realise you knocked over the popcorn in between you. You move over to sit on his lap and lean you head into his neck as he grabs onto your waist.

“We have to tell Simon tomorrow,” he says chuckling as you lean up and kiss his jaw.

“You can tell him. You’re the one that asked me,” you add, lightly pushing yourself away until his grab your hands, interlocking your fingers, and pulls you in for another kiss.

“No way, miss. I’m not goin’ down alone."

The next day you and Niall walk hand-in-hand into the conference room of the studio, where the whole team was sitting.

As soon as you walked in together, you felt a hand press to your back, knowing in was Niall’s in an attempt to comfort you from the possible rejection.

“Lads, Simon, we have to tell you something,” Niall says nervously, chewing at his cuticles and waiting for either you or his friends to say something.

“Let me guess, you asked her to be your girlfriend?”

“’S ‘bout time, mate!”

“Congrats you two. I pick ‘em right. Don’ I, Boys?” Simon says, laughing as him and the other Boys nod to each other, obviously acknowledging that the budding relationship was inevitable.

“I’m happy for you two. I am. But Y/N we have to talk about this whole deal now, that alright?”

“Yeah, I just want this all to stop. I’m finishing UNI next month, so I am extremely grateful that you’ve paid all expenses, but I just want any further payment cut off. I’m happy and I just want to be a normal girlfriend. Or as normal as possible,” you say, laughing with the rest of the boys, Simon, and Niall.

You agreed to join the team for tour after graduating, and no one would know about the stunt. You would just continue to be Niall’s girlfriend. But for real this time.

It was definitely an odd way to start a relationship, but both you and Niall knew it was all worth it.

Hi, lovlies.

Don’t know if this is my best, but, I like it quite a bit so I’m going to post.

I am about 5 in with other requests, then I’ll be free to write a chapter for my fanfiction and Niall’s plot, as well as any other requests.

I will try to finish the rest of Niall’s tonight, and possibly one of Harry’s.

Love you lots,

Caitlin xxx
