i cried when jim said that

Summary:  My new idea was somewhat angsty like my last one, namely Jim and the reader are a couple and the reader is maybe an ambassador (or whatever) on Vulcan while the planet gets attacked and Jim freaks out while he tries to disable the machine and/or when he sees that it’s too late and Vulcan is already breaking down? You can choose if the reader dies or survives and I know that this is probably a tricky request… - @littlecarowrites

Note: I literally cried while writing this one…

Double Trouble

Pairing: Jim x Child!Reader

Word Count: 1585

Warnings: Fluff, a really bad pun. I don’t think there’s even a swear in this one.

A/N: Part 2 of Seeing Double!! I hadn’t intended for this to become a series, and yet here we are. There’s definitely going to be at least a part 3, but we’ll see how long that gets and maybe there’ll be a part 4. It’ll be awhile either way, because it’s the end of the semester and school is slowly killing me.

The day started like any other for Aydenna: coffee in the morning while she skimmed the news and ate breakfast. Then she took a shuttle up to the academy where she prepped for a full day of classes. Unfortunately for her, everyone on the Command track had a strong personality, which meant a lot of disruptions and discussions, but she wouldn’t change it for a thing. She and Roger finally smoothed things out, and it even seemed like he was warming up to Y/N by now. At least, Aydenna hoped, based on the note she found on your pillow that morning. Hi Mommy. I went to work with Daddy today on a big ship!! I love you!! Aydenna smiled as she walked towards the ship dock, hoping to catch you and Roger by surprise at lunch.

It turned out that the event that Jerome had been so looking forward to was a charity ball for Gotham’s Children’s Hospital. About three hours before it was scheduled to begin, you were once again handed over to Barbara and Tabitha to be dolled up again. “Make sure she looks perfect,” Jerome instructed, “But not like she stands out or anything. Can’t have those GCPD bozos trying to take her away from me.” The two women voiced their understanding and kicked him out of the room, but not before he winked at you as you sat on the other side. You were sitting in the same spot you had been in the first time the two women had used you as a life-sized barbie doll. Once they got started, the entire event of getting you ready for the gala went by in a flash. Barbara did your makeup again, however this time it was much less natural-looking. Your eyeshadow was a dark pink to light pink fade, and your cheekbones were lightly contoured. Tabitha was doing your hair again as well, instead this time she kept your hair down; from what you could see in the mirror she was going for a wavy style. The dress hanging on the closet door across the room was crushed pink velvet with spaghetti straps, straight, and ball gown length. Once your face and hair was to their liking, they had you put the dress on behind a divider.

“Hang on,” Barbara said, rummaging through a drawer on the other side of the divider. She handed you something over the top; when you took it you saw it was a black choker. “Wear that. I’ll get ginger in here so we can go.”

Seconds later, she reentered the room with Jerome, whose eyes were being covered by Barbara’s hand. You’d already stepped out from the divider. She let her hand fall and his eyes landed immediately on you. “Wow,” he said in a low voice, “You look absolutely stunning, babygirl. Spectacular.“

“Thank you,” you whispered. He walked over to you, taking your hands in his. He was considerably taller than you, even despite the fact that Barbara and Tabitha had given you a pair of strappy, matte, black heels.

“We can have so much fun when we get back.” He shot his signature evil grin at you, before leading you out the door. ‘Absolutely not,’ you thought to yourself. ‘We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.’ The car ride to the event was relatively civil. You didn’t talk, which wasn’t unusual, and as much as you pushed yourself into the car door to keep distance, Jerome still managed to keep a hand on your leg the whole time. You couldn’t let it distract you, however. You were too busy formulating an escape plan in your head. ‘How will I get away from them all? Do I go straight to the police right after, do I lay low for a while instead?’

The events of the night must’ve been entertaining, you were sure, but you were too busy looking around every two seconds in search of an escape route. While Jerome and Barbera were preparing their act backstage, you were kept by Tabitha’s side the whole time. The only thing keeping you from running at every chance was the expertly hidden pocket knife she kept at your side all night. You kept silently praying someone in the crowd would recognize you and say something, but then, what would that’ve meant for the knife at your side? Escaping wasn’t going to be easy, but you would be damned if you knew you had let the opportunity for freedom pass because of a piece of metal with a point. Before the show started, Tabitha had dragged you along with her to a dark corner in an unoccupied hallway. She stood facing you and moved the pocketknife away. “Listen,” she started, “I don’t want to have to keep you locked up after tonight. Theo has something planned tonight, and I want to help you get away when it’s all over.”

Your jaw just about dropped to the floor. You were dumbstruck! “I- I don’t understand…” you stammered.

“Look, just- just hear me out.” You nodded. “If I let you escape, you have to promise you won’t tell the cops about the rest of us. Just tell them that when Jerome had you, he was alone. No accomplices. No roommates. None of us. Just him. The police tells the news what you told them, and you’ll be fine. Theo won’t try to come after you if he thinks you got him off the hook. Got it?”

“Good. You’re a good kid, (y/n). You deserve to move past all this. You didn’t deserve any of it. So can I trust you not to run your mouth?”

“Of course. Thank you, Tabitha.” You meant it. You had no hard feelings towards her, or even Barbara for that matter. They were nice to you the whole time, what’s the difference if they were both a little whack? They weren’t the ones who kidnapped you or held you hostage. Tabitha was literally helping you escape. You would always be grateful for that.

She smiled. “I still have to keep this on you though,” she motioned to the knife. “For the sake of convincing Theo I’m not planning anything.” You could understand that. Once you reached your table. You did your best to hide your face from the rest of the crowd. You didn’t want someone spotting you now and ruining your whole plan, that would just end badly.

The events of the night flew by, up until when Jerome highjacked the magician’s bit and started killing people. Some in the crowd had escaped, but the majority of them, like you, were not as fortunate. Then, of course, there were the bits where GCPD detective, Jim Gordon, tried to intervene (if only for a minute or so), and when Jerome tried to kill Bruce Wayne, but none of that was as shocking as what happened next.

Theo Galavan, his mentor and leader, betrayed his trust and murdered him on the stage. You couldn’t help but react a bit shocked- despite what he had put you through, a stab to the throat seemed to be a very unleasant way to go. As soon as the knife was lodged in his neck and Barbara had escaped, everyone at the gala immediately fled, seemingly afraid that something worse was coming if they stayed there any longer. Tabitha did her best to guide you away from Theo’s view, pushing you into the crowd so you could blend in. You turned around and your sight of her was lost; maybe in order to help you gain some escape time against her brother.

When the cool, refreshing night air hit your face, you cried. You immediately started searching for the police when a strong hand came down on your shoulder. Your head snapped around to find the source, and you found yourself in front of a man wearing a GCPD badge. “Oh my God. (y/n) (y/ln)?” The man asked you.

As much as you had been crying before, you were full out sobbing now. “Yes,” you choked out, nodding your head. You weren’t sure how to respond to the situation at hand. Your captor was dead, you were free, standing next to one of the only people who had any control over the madness of that God-forsaken city, and you were alive. You barely knew what to say next, so you said the first thing you thought of. “I wanna go home,” you cried.

The ride back to the GCPD precinct was quiet, but you didn’t mind. The detective, who actually ended up being the infamous Jim Gordon, had given you a blanket before putting you in the car and calling your family to let them know that you’d been found, and you were alive and unharmed. Before being allowed to go back home, you had to be taken in to give an official statement. When you arrived, you had been given a change of clothes- a t-shirt and some sweatpants- and a big mug of coffee, your blanket still hanging around your shoulders. You were sat down on the other side of Gordon’s desk when the official recording started. “Just say what happened.”

“Um, well Jerome, he- I was walking home from school on the day that I was taken and he kidnapped me then- it was just him, I never saw anyone else. And he kept me locked up-he never did anything to me, just talked, but I think he must’ve had an obsession.”

Gordon interrupted. “Why do you say that?”

“He- he always kept talking about how he thought I was ‘his’ like he- like he owned me, or something… he liked pet names a lot. And then tonight, he brought me to the gala, he said he wanted to ‘show me off’, or something dumb like that. The only reason I didn’t run during was because he said if I tried anything, he’d kill my family, that he had them tied up somewhere. So I stayed where I was until that man killed him. Then I ran.”

He switched off the tape recorder. “Thanks for cooperating. Your family is on their way.” He stood up to go finish his work. “And, (y/n)-” he stopped to face you. “I’m really sorry about what happened to you. You seem like a good kid. You didn’t deserve any of that. I’ll have one of the guys escort you and your family home. And-… I’d recommend group therapy… or something like that. To help you cope.”

“Thank you. For everything. And… I’m sure my parents will be on board with that. ”

The reunion with your family was full of tears and hugs. Your parents had bags under their eyes, they looked like that hadn’t slept in weeks. You embraced each other in the steps of the precinct, falling to your knees. You couldn’t tell how long you all had been like that, but eventually you were led back to your home by one of the officers. The night was indescribably emotional and full of tears.

Your story was on the news for a week or so, and afterwards, it faded into the background. The only reason it was such a popular story was because of the fact that Jerome was involved. There were hundreds of kidnappings every week in Gotham, and most of them went unnoticed by the media. But they had a field day with you. Apparently during his raid of the GCPD, he mentioned how he was the one who had taken you, and that’s why the police were in such a hurry to find you.

Your parents signed you into a hospital 3 weeks later. You had been mostly back to normal since you had been recovered, so they weren’t expecting your sudden mental breakdown at all. The full weight of your trauma hadn’t hit until then, and then suddenly it came crashing all at once. It started with you having random outbursts or crying here and there, but then your handle over the situation deteriorated. Next, you stopped eating. You couldn’t risk it without being sick. Then, you stopped leaving your room. This went on for a few weeks until one day, you passed out on the stairs.

You had never really been a depressed kid before, so this was alarming to your family. Your time spent in theater had molded you into an extroverted, generally happy, and energetic person. When the light disappeared from your eyes and smile and were replaced by hollow, sunken cheeks and dark circles around your eyes, you all knew something was wrong. The doctors diagnosed PTSD and recommended 2 weeks in the hospital for your recovery.

You had lots of visitors, and that made you happy, but you could no longer express that happiness. You were put on mild medication, which helped, and you started feeling better as time went by. Most of your visitors were friends and family, but sometimes other people would come. Most of the time, they were Jerome fanatics. There must’ve been a cult of them or something, because every time it was a different person or group of people. They idolized him, and, by association, you. They saw Jerome as a messiah and you as his ‘chosen one’. They always tried to get you to tell them about him, and at first you did.

“Well, he’s… extravagant, for sure,” you’d say. “He never hurt me, necessarily, but I mean, he killed people. He was a bad dude. I’m glad he’s gone.” This, of course, upset them. They were convinced he was just a rebel against authority and believed he could do no wrong, which is why you requested they stop being allowed to visit. This didn’t mean the cult stopped keeping tabs on you, however. It just meant they had to keep their distance in order to keep you in their plans to resurrect Jerome and reunite him with you.

Proposal - Leonard McCoy

Requested by anonymous.

“What is that?” Jim asked as a tiny clink came from the floor. Leonard dropped to the floor, frantically searching. He stopped and picked up a tiny diamond ring.

“What is that?” Jim asked again.

“What does it look like?” Leonard said exasperatedly. Jim looked at him in shock, before breaking into a grin. He pulled his best friend into a huge bear hug. “I thought you’d be angry,” Leonard said, running a hand through his hair.

“Are you kidding? How long have you been dating my sister? Y/N loves you.” Leonard smiled and sighed, relaxing himself.

“So, do I have your blessing?”

“Bones, you don’t need my blessing. Y/N will do whatever she wants anyways.”

“Call me old fashioned, but I need it,” Leonard said sheepishly. “It would just make me feel a lot better.” Jim laughed and patted Leonard’s arm.

“You have my blessing. But,” he said, pulling Leonard close. “If you hurt her, I’ll send you into the dark, silent unknown of space.” Leonard gulped as Jim laughed.

“I’m never going to hurt her.”

“I know you won’t,” Jim said before leaving Med Bay.

You sat in Med Bay, holding on to your arm to stop the bleeding. You worked down in engineering, so you spent a lot of your time in Med Bay after your many mishaps. That was how you met Leonard so many months ago. Nurse Chapel told you that Leonard had gone to lunch, so you waited for him to come back.

“Dr. McCoy, you have a patient waiting in exam room two,” Chapel said. Leonard grumbled and walked in, barely looking up as he put on his gloves.

“What seems to be the problem?”

“Hi, Leo,” you said as he finally looked up.

“Y/N!” he said, rolling over on his chair to kiss you. “What’s wrong?” he asked, pulling your hand from your shoulder.

“I cut myself. Scotty sent me up,” you said casually as he began dabbing away the blood. “What’s wrong with you?”

“Nothing,” he said as he stitched you up.

“Leo, you don’t look good,” you said, touching his hand softly.

“I’m fine,” he said, looking up at you, but you could tell he was lying.

“Don’t you trust me?”

“Of course I do. Nothing’s wrong, I’ve just got a lot on my mind,” he said, standing up and throwing away his gloves. You stood up as well, and stood inches from him.

“You can talk to me, “ you said, looking up into his brown eyes.

“I know. Really, Y/N, it’s nothing. I should probably get back to work,” he said, walking away. You rolled your eyes and stormed past him, heading back to Engineering.

“You okay?” Scotty asked as you angrily worked.

“I don’t know,” you said, wiping your brow. Scotty smiled sadly and took the hammer out of your hand.

“Do you wanna talk?” You smiled and nodded and let Scotty lead you up to his control room. “What’s going on?” he asked, leaning against a table.

“I think I have to break up with Leonard.”

“What, why?” Scotty asked in shock.

“He won’t talk to me. I don’t think he trusts me and I think he’s hiding something from me.” Scotty nodded and looked down at his feet.

“He does love you.”

“I know, and I really love him, too. But that’s not enough. He doesn’t trust me anymore.”

“I’m sorry, Y/N.” You smiled sadly and stood up.

“Thanks for listening to me, Scotty.”

After your shift, you made your way back to your shared apartment with Leonard. He was in the small kitchen and mumbled a ‘hey’ as he cooked. You flopped down on your bed and groaned.

“Does your arm still hurt?” he asked as he set down the plates of dinner.

“No, it’s fine,” you said monotonously.

“Are you okay?” he asked, standing at the foot of your bed.

“Are we?” you asked, sitting up in bed.

“What do you mean?” he asked, folding his arms.

“I mean, are we okay?”

“Yes! Why would you ask that?”

“Because I feel like we’re growing apart. You don’t tell me anything anymore, I feel like you’re hiding something from me.”

“Y/N, I love you, I don’t want to hide anything from you.”

“So don’t because I don’t know what to do anymore,” you said, tears filling your eyes. “I mean, do you want to break up?”

“No, no,” he said, sitting down next to you and wrapping you in his arms. “I don’t want to ever lose you, Y/N.”

“Then tell me what’s been bothering you,” you said, looking up at him.

“I - I don’t want to do it like this,” he said, standing up and beginning to pace.

“Do what?” you asked desperately.

“God, you’re frustrating, you know that?” he said throwing his hands in the air.

“I’m frustrating?! I’ve never done anything that makes you believe I don’t love you anymore, have I?” you said defensively.

“I do love you! What don’t you get about that? That’s why I have been avoiding you!”

“You’ve been avoiding me because you love me?” you asked in confusion.

“No, that’s not what I meant,” he said, rubbing his forehead.

“Then what did you mean?”

“Do you want to know why I’ve been acting so strange lately?”

“Yes!” you said. Leonard sighed and began reaching into his pocket when someone thudded on your door. You exchanged looks with Leonard before opening the door and finding Carol Marcus standing in the hallway with Jim.

“I need your boyfriend,” she said.

“Excuse me?” you asked, looking back at Leonard who put up his hands in defense.

“We need Bones to help us open up the missiles,” Jim explained, walking into your small apartment.

“Why would you want to open those missiles? You can’t open them that close to the warp core, you can’t open them anywhere on the ship,” you argued.

“We’re not opening them on the ship,” Carol said. “Please, Dr.McCoy, I need your hands.” You looked up at him angrily and he held up his hand again to calm you down.

“Okay, I’ll help you,” he said.

“Leonard!” you said, looking astounded.

“I’ll meet you guys down there in a few minutes,” he said, shooing them out of your apartment. He closed the door and looked at you.

“You aren’t going to do this,” you said, crossing your arms.

“Y/N, they wouldn’t have asked if it wasn’t important,” he said, beginning to get dressed.

“I don’t care how important it is. Jim can do it.”

“Jim’s the captain, he can’t risk his life.”

“And you can? Leonard, please don’t do this.”

“I have to, Y/N. I promise we can finish our conversation from before afterwards, okay?” he said, kissing your forehead. You rolled your eyes and shook your head.

“Fine,” you said, putting your red dress back on.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m going to work. I’ll be watching.” He nodded and made his way down to the warp core. You stood next to Jim as Leonard and Carol flew down to the abandoned planet.

“He’ll be fine, don’t worry,” Jim said. You smiled and sighed, watching the screen in front of you. “So?”

“What?” you asked, turning towards your brother.

“Nothing,” Jim said, dropping the smile from his face.

“What’s wrong with you?” you asked as the ship landed on the planet.

“Nothing, I was just wondering how things were with you and Leonard.” You rolled your eyes and watched as they drug the missile out into the barren atmosphere.

“Not great, honestly. We were fighting when you barged in on us.”

“What? About what?” Jim asked in shock.

“Just the usual. I feel like he’s not sharing anything with me and I think he’s hiding something from me.”

“Y/N, I can guarantee that he-”

“We’re ready to begin,” Carol said, her voice vibrating through the speaker. You turned from your brother and looked back at the screen. Carol began instructing Leonard on what to do to disarm the missile as you watched in suspense. Everything was going fine until the missile closed on Leonard’s hand.

“Bones!” you and Jim shouted at the same time.

“It’s going to detonate in two minutes,” Carol said full of panic.

“Marcus get him out of there!” you shouted.

“I’m trying,” she said as she frantically examined the missile, pushing buttons.

“Y/N,” Leonard said quietly.

“Yes?” you said, tears filling your eyes.

“If I don’t make it out-”

“Shut up. Don’t even begin to think like that,” you said immediately.

“I have to. I don’t know if I’ll be getting out of here. We need to have our conversation from before right now.”

“Please,” he pleaded.

“Okay,” you said reluctantly.

“I don’t want to keep anything from you. That was the last thing I wanted you to think. Y/N the real reason I’ve been so distant is because I’ve been so nervous.”

“About what?” He began reaching into his pocket and struggled but pulled out a ring. You gasped and put your hand over your mouth.

“I’m sorry you have to hear it this way but you need to know. I love you so much, Y/N. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and if that’s only the next minute then let it be as my fiance. Will you marry me, Y/N?” You let a few tears slip down your face, turning to look at Jim who was also tearing up.

“I love you, too, Leonard. I want to marry you,” you replied. Leonard smiled and laughed, clearly relaxing as the timer went to thirty seconds.

“Carol get out of here,” he shouted.

“I’m not leaving you here,” she said, continuously working on the missile.

“Go!” he shouted, the timer getting down to ten seconds as Carol worked frantically. You reached for Jim’s hand as you watched in terror. The timer counted down as Carol pressed more and more buttons. You closed your eyes at two seconds and counted, but nothing happened.

You opened them again and saw that Leonard was free from the missile and it had opened up. You let out a sigh of relief and hugged Jim.

“Get back up here and we can see what’s inside,” Jim instructed. You cried into Jim’s shoulder, so relieved that Leonard was okay. He tried to shush you and rubbed your back. You relaxed and ran down to the transporter. You arrived just as Leonard beamed up. You let out a cry/laugh and Leonard turned towards you.

“Y/N!” he said, running towards you and lifting you up in his arms. You smiled into his shoulder, holding him as tight as you could.

“I’m so glad you’re okay,” you said when he set you down and looked up at him, your hands on his cheeks. “I love you so much.” He smiled and slipped the diamond ring on your finger. It fit perfectly.

“I love you, too.”

Joe Sugg imagine: Tanya and Jim's wedding

You shivered and pulled your sweater a little tighter, the brisk British spring getting to you. You sat in the second row, next to the Saccone-Joly’s and Louise. This wedding was so beautiful with the bright flowers and pretty music. It was perfect for Tanya and Jim.

You had just been inside checking up on Tanya and her bridesmaids. Her sister was the maid of honor and she had made sure everything was perfect. Also in the bridal party were Jim’s sisters, Zoe, and Niomi. Tanya was beautiful and very nervous. Your boyfriend and fellow youtuber Joe Sugg was one of the groomsmen, along with Jim’s brother, Marcus, Caspar, and Alfie. Tanya’s little brother was to bring them the rings and Jim’s niece Edie was the flower girl.

“Y/N” you heard as someone tapped on your shoulder.

“Joe! How’s everything going back there!” you said. You hadn’t seen your boyfriend since this morning.

“Good, good. I just wanted to run out and tell you that you look stunning.” he chirped.

“Well thank you!” you said with a smile. “You don’t look to bad yourself.” Joe looked so handsome, and if you weren’t at a wedding in broad daylight, you would’ve had you hands all over him.

He grinned and kissed your cheek, not wanting to ruin your lipstick, “I’ll see you in a little bit, the weddings about to start"

Five minutes later the wedding party started to come down the aisle, poor Jim he looked so nervous. He shouldn’t be, you thought, Tanya loved him so much. Soon, Joe came out with Jim’s sister Nic on his arm. You couldn’t help but feel the slightest twinge of jealously, but you knew this was just for a wedding and you were being silly. As Joe took his place next to Alfie, he winked a you and you smiled back.

The wedding was beautiful, everyone cried. Including Tan and Jim. You were so happy for your friends! You and Joe danced the night away at the reception with everyone. When it was time for the couples dance Joe lead you out onto the dance floor.

"This was so beautiful, I’m so happy for them” you said, leaning your head on his chest.

“Me too,” he replied kissing your forehead. “One day, That’ll be us"

You smiled, "yes it will, and I can’t wait.”

based off of this post about Madeline finding out about Dipper being Alcor

because I really wanted to write it

It was a rainy Friday the day it happened. Madeline had finally managed to convince her dad to let her walk home from school. It was only three blocks after all, and she was ten years old for Pete’s sake! Dipper had gone on and on about cults in the area and a whole manner of supernatural things Maddy knew was just her dad being overprotective as always.

He told her to watch her surroundings, but she really hadn’t been. Dipper would probably be angry about that later. Maddy didn’t care, she was enjoying jumping in every puddle she crossed. Testing her bright pink rain boots’ water resistance and giggling as some of the water splashed against her striped leggings, she never saw the man in a hoodie come out from an alley. A rag was cupped over her mouth before Maddy could even get out a scream.

Then she was gone.

You were totally wrecked, you hadn’t even realized that you’d made it to your house in no time. “Mommy? Why are you sad? it’s because me?” you dried your eyes.

“Uh, I’m not sad baby I have something in my eyes” you could tell she wasn’t convinced, you wouldn’t be either. But it was better than saying it was because Dean wouldn’t let you go. And that hurt, so much.

“When can I see Daddy again?”

“He’ll see you this weekend with Sammy but if you really want to see him tonight, uncle Jim can drive you” you answered quietly. Now that you thought to what happened an hour ago you felt stupid. You should have talk with Dean, end this in a better way.

“But I want you to come with me, it was great today”

Penny’s words broke your heart. She was the one suffering from your choices, and you were too blinded by your own pain to see it. You cursed yourself. “I- I’m tired sweetie so not tonight, maybe tomorrow, okay?” she sadly nodded.

Jim wasn’t home yet. Luckily. You didn’t need him to say “I told you you it was a bad idea".  All you wanted was to forget about Dean and the rest of the world for a moment. You thought a bath would help you to relax. You could still call Dean later and talked without any nerves.

You made your way upstairs with Penny who ran into her bedroom.  As you reached the last stair you felt a sharp pain down your core. “No, not now” you tried to breath out to calm down. You had felt some small contractions while driving but hadn’t paid much attention. You should have.

A bigger contraction occurred and you let a half-muffled scream out of your mouth. Your heart was pounding so hard in your chest and found yourself panicking. All you could think was you were alone with your daughter. You sat in the hallway and exhaled loudly, trying to focus a minute to call Jim. But your body wouldn’t let you. You cried out.

“Why are you screaming mommy?” Penny got out of her room to see what was going on.

“Sweetie just staayyy -breath- in your bedroom for a little while okay?”

She nodded slightly afraid but did as she was told. You eventually grabbed your phone and dialed Jim. He answered almost immediately and told you he was on his way to get you. The call released a little bit of stress and you decided to wait in your bedroom to be more comfortable.

Dean’s phone went off with your ID. “Y/N” it was a bit of a surprise that you called him but he thought maybe you’d changed your mind.

He tightened his grip on the wheel when he heard the fear in his daughter’s voice. His mind started to work the worst case scenario, he instentively sped up.  “Penny? What’s wrong sweetheart?” He demanded nervously.

“Mommy is screaming, I think it’s the baby” she said, her voice slightly trembling. She had taken the phone from Jim’s bedroom. Seeing you in pain, she thought calling her father was the best thing to do to help you out. And if she was calling that meant you were alone and Dean wouldn’t let you handle this by yourself.

“Keep an eye on mommy for me, I’m coming” he told softly Penny.

“Okay Daddy”

As you were about to reach your bed, your waters broke. “Oh, I’m cursed” you muttered. You tried to calm down but truth was you were completely frightened and your breathing became uneven. Jim wouldn’t be here on time you were about to give birth all by yourself. The worst thought crossed you mind. What if something wrong happened to Robert?

As the anxiety raised your pain increasingly grown, you almost fell on the ground. Your body was uncontrollably shaking, you were panting hard and used the wall to keep you on your feet.

You grabbed some cloths in the bathroom and spread them on the bed. You tried to relax as much as you could sitting down but the ache felt like someone thrown your core apart with a thousand knives.

“Robert I need you to hang on  just a little more”. You hated to think that but you wished Dean was there. Between two contractions you gripped your phone and hesitated to dial him. Just to hear his voice telling you’d be okay. You gave up on the idea after another sharp cramp.

Few minutes later, your breathing became steady again when you heard the familiar roared of the Impala coming from outside. You shook your head thinking the unbearable twinge in your core had you imagining things.

“Y/N!” Dean called as he walked into the house. “Daddy!” Penny answered from the top of the stairs.

“Mommy’s in her bedroom” she said as Dean climbed quickly the step.

“Thanks Princess”

He stepped quickly in your bedroom with Penny following, holding tightly her teddy bear. “What are you doing here?” You asked almost shocked.

“Penny called me” you sighed in disbelief. This child was way too smart sometimes. She was hiding behind her dad’s leg, her small hand gripping now his jeans.

“Come on Y/N/N” Dean spoke softly as he approached you.

“No, it’s okay- breath- Jim will arrive in a minute”

You got another strong spam and managed to not scream. Dean could see how anxious you were. It never was your plan to give birth anywhere else than in an hospital and your kid would certainly not be delivered by anyone but a doctor. And he knew it too well. He knelled before you and took delicately your hand and you naturally closed yours around his. You were both amazed how easy and nice the gesture was. He rubbed his thumb along your fingers and your body relax under his touch.

“Are you okay?” he asked softly and you nodded

“My-breath-my waters just broke… I’m think I’m -breath- I’m close”

“Okay, we gotta move” he said pulling you to help you to stand but you cried of pain.

“Mommyyy!” Penny called crying, putting her head into her bear. She couldn’t stand to see you suffering and didn’t know what else to do.

“I’m okay sweetie, I’m okay- it’s okay, stop crying” you breathed out softly, your hand reaching her. Dean fell to one knee and placed his hand on either of her shoulders. “Princess, do you know where is Mommy’s bag?”he asked calmly. “Ye-Yes” she sobbed.

“Go grab it for me all right?” she nodded and ran out of the bedroom. He turned back to you getting ready to lift you up. He frowned realizing you were staring at him. “What?” he asked confused.

You shook your head. “I thought you’ll be as panicked as the first time I’m -breath- I’m just surprised”

“Oh trust me sweetheart, I’m like super freaked out right now but I can’t show it to Penny she’s already afraid enough” you smiled slightly.

“Come on” he said and grabbed you delicately bridal style and climbed down slowly the stairs. You got another contraction and clawed Dean’s shoulder making him slightly groaned. “It’s been a while since you claw me like this” he bantered.

“Oh don’t you dare! I so fucking hate you right now” you muttered.

“I know sweetheart” he deadpanned.

“No, no, you don’t know! -fuck- it’s the last time you touch me ever Winchester”

“You said that last time too” he was about to smirk but you grabbed his collar forcing him to look at you.

“Listen to me Dean, I’m suffering like hell because of you, both physically and emotionally so keep your smart ass comments to yourself!” you roared.  His eyes went wide and he swallowed hard.

“Ye-Yes Ma'am”

“Now take me to this freaking hospital or I’ll drag you back to Hell myself if I have this baby here”

“We’ll be there in no time Babe”

“Don’t -breath- Don’t pet named me I don’t have the patience for that!!”

“All right! You don’t need to yell it right into my ear” he growled.

Dean let you down in front of the passenger seat. Penny ran outside with your bag and handed it to you. “Thanks P -breath- you’re my strong little girl” you stroke her cheek and she gripped your hand.

You were about to close the door when your brother arrived in the driveway. He climbed out quickly and walked over you and Dean. “What the fuck are you doing here?” Jim shouted toward Dean

“I’m driving her, she needs to get to a hospital now” Dean shouted back.

“She doesn’t need you! I’ll do it! Now get the fuck out!” he stepped closer to the  car.

“I ain’t going anywher-”

“Dean, Jim knock it off!” you shouted to both of them. “I’m about to have a baby if you haven’t notice yet -breath- I don’t have time to deal with your stupid alpha male tensions bullshits”

The two men looked at you slugging hard. “Penny, never repeat that okay sweetie?” she nodded. “Jim take care of her please”

“Y/N/N don’t do-”

“Jim, it’s okay. He needs to be here- I want this” you told honestly your brother.

Dean didn’t try to hide his surprise. He smiled slightly but it didn’t reach your eyes. Jim gave up to reason with you for the moment and approached Penny.

“No Mommy!” Penny cried out and thrown herself against you.

“Penny, listen to me -breath- you need to stay with Jimmy okay?” you stroke her hair.

“But-But- I want to stay with you and Daddy!” she sobbed.

“Princess, Mommy’s right. You’ll come with Jim when your brother is here okay?” Dean said softly and pulled her gently away from you.

“I’ll see you really -breath- really soon little mouse, with your brother, okay?” she nodded.

“Come here P” Jim called softly and she hold his hand. Two big contractions occurred in a row and you bite your lower lips to muffle your scream.

“Dean-please-can we just go” you asked panting.

Dean jumped behind the wheels. You waved to Penny, and smiled softly and she waved back, but you could see how worried she was.

“urgh!! We said one Dean, one! I didn’t want to live that twice” you complained.

“Two is good number” he argued softly and you glared.

“Sure, when you’re not the one getting an unplanned pregnancy and have to give birth, it’s awesome” you muttered.

“I’m sorry all right? You know wasn’t my will either”

“No kidding” you switched in the seat to get more comfortable.

“Come on, don’t tell me you’re not happy to have this kid” you stayed quiet breathing out. “This’s what I was thinking”. You wrung the leather of the seat letting a painful moan out of your mouth. Breathing correctly was getting harder and harder.

“How do you feel Babe?” Dean asked anxiety in his voice.

“Stop calling me -breath- calling me Babe asshole!” you shouted.

“Fine!” he yelled, “How do you feel Y/N?” he asked again annoyed

“Your son is killing me but I’m just fine!” you suddenly broke down. You couldn’t  ignore what you were feeling anymore, you needed to get it out somehow.

“Babe what’s wrong??”

“My dress is ruined” you started to talk about the lamest thing on your mind .

“Are you fuc… I’ll buy you another one, okay?”

You tried to calm down and reopened your mouth. “Thank yoouuu” speaking was a bad idea and made things ten times worst. The pain down your core consumed all your strength and you felt helpless. Crying was the only way your body find to release your distress.

“Babe talk to me” Dean said softly and took your hand in his.

“Why Dean?”

“Why what?”

“Why did you have to screw everything up?” he clenched his jaws focusing his eyes on the road.

“I could have handle all the supernatural craps, I could Dean, hell I did -breath- but-but why did you cheat on me? It’s because You don’t- don’t find me attractive anymore?” you sobbed.

“No, no! Babe you are so beautiful I swear it’s hard to breath everytime I see you”

“Re-Really?” you dried your cheeks as best as you could.

“Yes, you are the most beautiful woman I ever met, you’ll always be”

“Thanks” you answered quietly.

“I love everything about you Y/N/N, you are a badass hunter and the best mom in the world, you’re the funniest person I know, I even love when you’re mad at me” he paused, trying to find the right words.

“Hear me out here Sweetheart, I’m sorry I let you down for some chicks, there is no way in hell I can find a good excuse because there is none… We were distant from each other and I was really-I didn’t think straight I was just- selfish…I took you for granted I thought you’d stay no matter what- no matter what I do…I’m a stupid ass I don’t deserve you…” he poured his heart out and you listened in silence, his words touching you deeply. You tightened gently your grip in his hand.  “I’m really sorry Y/N.. I know you and Penny have suffered all those years because I made the worst decisions- I’m sorry for all I’ve done, I should have seen you were the right choice” he looked at you boring quickly his eyes in yours. “You’re my everything Y/N”

If you hadn’t been in labor you would have probably answer or do something. You got once more, what you thought every time was the worst pain you ever felt.

“Fuck!” you yelled as the contractions were brought forward.

“Hang on Babe, we’re almost there”

You did make it at the hospital on time. Five minutes after you stepped in the labor room you were giving birth to Robert. It had been faster than when you had Penny but the pain and anxiety had crushed you. All you energy was gone and you fell asleep in no time after being place in your room.

It was almost midnight when Jim and Penny arrived. Dean convinced a nurse to let them in late after the visit hours, he knew you needed Penny with you. The little green eyes girl hopped up and down to meet her brother after she were reassured you were doing okay. She hadn’t say a word to her uncle from the moment you left until Dean’s call.

“Can I climb back onto the bed?”

“Yes Princess” you answered her softly. Jim lifted her next to you. She kissed Robert’s forehead and whispered “Hi again Robbie”. Robert seemed to smile every time his sister spoke. “His hands are so tiny” she said taking them gently. You smiled.

“Can I play with him? Because I want to share all my toys with him”

“You have to wait few months” the little girl stroke gently her brother hair and snuggle on your side keeping her hand on her brother. Jim chuckled as she fought her eyelids to close.

“Can we go home now that he’s here?” She mumbled half asleep.

“Uh- I have to talk with Daddy first” you answered softly feeling Jim worried look on you. “Okay” she breathed out before falling totally alseep. At least she wasn’t worried anymore.

“Where’s Dean?” Jim asked carefully.

“He went to take a coffee and make some phone calls” you sighed slightly.

“Y/N/N, it’s your life but- don’t go back with him” you turned your gaze to your brother, knowing too well what he would say. “Your relationship will never be healthy. He will never change”

“I haven’t decided yet what I’m going to do Jim. I need time to think”

Jim breathed out heavily “I lose you once because of him” he put his head in his hands.”After today-”

“I was reckless Jim, it’s not his bad. And you’d have be right on time. It’s over we’re fine”

“If you hadn’t met him-”

“Jim, you know I would have met him one way or another” Jim scoffed.

“Don’t be so sure. If I could go back in time I’ll make everything I could for you not to meet him” he stopped himself seeing you were affected by his words.

“I would not have them” you said quietly and turned your eyes back on your son. Jim breathed out and opened his arms to take Robert.

“I’m sorry Y/N/N” he whispered.

“It’s okay, I understand. It hadn’t been easy for you either” he looked at his nephew and smiled at the way he moved.

“Whatever decision you’ll take I’ll be there for you” Jim eventually said.

“Thanks Jimmy” you leaned and hugged him.

You lied back down on your side pulling your daughter against you. You thought about what Dean had said in the car, the way you kissed each other after Robert’s birth. You let your mind wondering for a moment.

“I found her Sam. Again. She’s hunting werewolves in Utah” Ruby said annoyed through the phone.

Sam turned toward Jim and gave him a small nod. “Where?”

“Once we find her, I’ll cuff her until she forgot her own name” Jim muttered.

Jim and Sam had been looking for you for a whole month. You kept escaping Jim every time he found you, saying you were okay when really you weren’t. When you realized you could do, closed to nothing, to save Dean you just went back to do the only thing you knew. Slaying monsters. But you weren’t doing it a good way. If it ever was a good way doing this job.

They walked towards the motel you were staying in. “Jim” Sam called as he found a large puddle blood next to your car. “Y/N what have you done” Sam whispered. They both ran to the door and found more blood on the knot.

“Y/N!” Jim yelled as he opened the door. You were lying on one of the bed, your hand on your stomach where you’d tried to patch yourself.

“Y/N” Jim came closer. You were covered in blood, your lips were slightly blue, your skin cold but you were still breathing.

“Y/N, it’s alright, I’m here now”

You tried to open your eyes. “Jim” you whispered.

“We’re gonna take you to a hospital Y/N/N, you’re gonna be okay” Jim said tears in his voice. Sam had grabbed the first aid kits to patch you better and stopped your blood loss.

“Just a second and we get you in the car, you’re gonna be fine” Sam told you, trying to convince himself at the same time.

“It’s too late” you murmured. “No Y/N/N, I promise my brother I’ll take care of you, I’m not letting you die” Sam spoke shakily.

“Screw him!” Jim yelled “If he really wanted her to be safe he wouldn’t have let her in his life” he continued tears running down. Sam shook his hand trying to focus on you.

“Come on Y/N/N, stay awake” Sam said seeing you switching slowly to unconsciousness.

“Jim… Sam….” you started to cough in your own blood. “I’m sorry…”

“Y/N! Stay with us! Stay with me…!” Jim yelled desperate. He pulled you against him. “Y/N please stay with me”

He couldn’t feel your pulse anymore. You were gone.

Dean opened the door and found you lying with Penny and Robert asleep on you. “Hey” he said softly.

“Hi” you answered moving your gaze from you kids to him.

“You’re not sleeping?” Dean asked.

“I’ve tried… but Rob was hungry” you answered placing a kiss Robert’s head. Dean sat on the bed next to you and dropped some food on the nightstand. He checked on his daughter who was deeply asleep, taking away some hair of her face.

“She’s out” he whispered.

“After what she’d been through all day, she needed to sleep” he nodded.

“Got some food if you’re hungry. I thought it would be better than what you get here”

“I’m too exhausted to be hungry now but thanks” you smiled softly. “Can you put Robert in his crib?”

He nodded and took delicately the small form in his arm. “So handsome already” he whispered kissing his cheek. You smiled as you observed him be so gentle and affectionate. He sat back onto the bed, pulling the crib closer. He bored his eyes in yours, waiting silently for you to say something.

“Lie down with me” you said quietly. You pulled Penny against you to leave him more space, the way she was between the two of you. You looked at each other for a moment without saying a word. Penny sighed heavily and mumbled something in her dream, making you both smiled.

“Did you- Did you mean everything you said?” you whispered.

“Yes, Sweetheart, every words”

“What about hunting” you continued knowing what would be the answer. He sighed.

“I’ll stop once I make sure Amara is locked away again”

You nodded slowly and looked away for a second. “Do you really want it?”

“Do you really want to stop hunting? Or it’s because of me?”

“I don’t want this fuck up life anymore” he answered straight. “I want to be with the kids and you, build the life we wanted before Penny”

“It’d never be our life Dean” Dean frowned as you spoke. “We tried, we tried hard and we failed because we just can’t.”

“That doesn’t mean we can’t try again” he spoke softly but you shook your head.

“I don’t think we’ll ever have a chance to have normal life anymore…I’m not sure I want it anyway… I just want to make sure Penny and Robert will have a chance for a normal life” you tightened your grip on your daughter.

“What are you saying” he demanded confused.

“I’m saying you’ll keep hunting as long as you feel you have to or want to… And meanwhile I’ll make sure Penny and Robert will choose a different path. The bunker is the best place they can have to grow up, with you and Sam”

Dean stayed quiet. He didn’t know if you were saying that you decided to move back with him or to simply give him another chance. “So that means you- you’re coming home, right?” he eventually asked and you closed your eyes for a moment.

“I can’t” you whispered. Dean face dropped at your answer but before he could speak again your hand reached his face.

“I just can’t come back with you like if nothing ever happened” you rubbed your thumb along his cheekbone his large hand coming over yours.

“But we can- I can try. I just need some times…we need some times to get over this” he nodded and he kissed your palm. “I’ll stay with Jim for now. And you can come when you want” he smiled slightly.

He slid his arms under Penny and you as he came closer, putting his forehead against yours. You eventually closed the distance between the two of you and pecked shyly his lips.

“Goodnight” you whispered closing your eyes.

“Good night Sweetheart”

He looked as you fell asleep in his arms like you used to and thought about what you said. His fingers trailed gently on your face and hair, studying your features, all over again. His hand slid on your side, feeling your warmth, your rib cage rising and falling as you were slowly breathing. He knew it would take sometimes for the two of you to find each other again and for you to forgive him. For him to forgive himself. He kissed softly your cheek. You moved naturally your head to nuzzle against his neck. He knew you were doing it unconsciously but it felt so good.

“Daddy?” Penny called half asleep.

“Hey P, you should sleep it’s not time to wake up yet”

She looked at both of you on each side of her. “Are we home?” She asked confused to be in the middle of the two of you. It was something you were doing often when Dean was just back from a hunt. Just taking the time to be you three all together, keeping your daughter safe between you.

“No, we’re still at the hospital”

She frowned. “But tomorrow we are coming home?”

“Uh-Mommy and Rob still need few days here and then-” he sighed. “Mommy will stay a little longer with your uncle but I’ll be there much more often, okay?” he rubbed gently her head. “We’ll come home together soon Princess” she rubbed her eyes.

“Yes, forever” she moved against him, her tiny arm circling his waist.

“I love you Daddy”

“I love you too Princess”

“So tell me, what’d it cost?” Dean pressed his brother.

“The girl? I don’t pay, Dean” Sam answered nervously.

“That’s not funny, Sam. To bring me back. What’d it cost? Was it just your soul, or was it something worse?” Dean demanded angrily.

“You think I made a deal?”Sam asked perplexed.

“That’s exactly what we think” Bobby muttered.

“Well, I didn't” Sam answered quickly.

“So if not you it’s Y/N” Dean continued. Sam eyes landed on the ground. “I knew it!” Dean shouted a mixed of anger and fear in his voice.

“Where is she Sam? I can’t reach her or Jim, none of their numbers are working, and I can’t track them either” Sam stayed quiet.

“You’re planning on answer us one day?” Bobby asked almost yelling. Sam nodded and cleared his throat, trying to hold back tears. He sighed.

“Y/N and I we tried to found anything. That’s the truth. We tried opening the Devil’s Gate. Hell, we tried to bargain, Dean, but no demon would deal, all right? You were rotting in Hell for months. For months, and we couldn’t stop it” he said sharply. “And Y/N, she couldn’t handle it. She took off one day and covered her tracks…she was a mess, killing everything she found then and there, barely sleeping” he paused few seconds. “About a week ago I found where she was staying, I called Jim- When we arrived-” he couldn’t bring himself to say it to his brother, his eyes went back on the ground.

“Sam what happened?” Dean demanded almost voiceless knowing where this was going even if he wouldn’t admit it to himself.

Sam’s eyes turned red and he took a deep breath before looking back at Dean. “The hunt went wrong, she-uh- she died in Jim’s arms”

Bobby gripped the tip of his nose “And he did’’t get to mind to grab your phone and give a call!” he yelled to Sam.

“I know, I’m sorry…Jim told me he’d do it” Sam apologized and turned to his brother.

Dean seemed like he couldn’t process the information. His eyes were fixed on his brother, trying to understand what was just said.

“Dean, I’m sorry, I failed to keep her safe” Sam spoke trying to keep the tears from falling. Bobby reached Dean’s shoulder.

“She’s dead…” he eventually whispered, hot tears suddenly rolling down his cheeks. “Did you- did you burn-”

“Uh- No. Jim wouldn’t. She’s buried with her parents” Sam answered.

“I need to- I need to see her” he said walking out of the room. He wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the woman he loved. He promised himself he’ll find a way to bring you back, even if he had to go back burning in Hell, once more.

Part 5

More Louis "Jim Halpert" Tomlinson

No, this isn’t March 2012. I’m trying to find a radio interview from March 2012 and keep getting side-tracked.

In this interview from in:demand UK recorded/filmed on 22 December 2011, Harry is asked by someone on twitter to hug her.

Host: Harry, I cried when you cried in your documentary. Will you hug me and make it better?

Harry proceeds to pretend hug a fake fan microphone stand and even this caused great angst for Louis, who watched it all with open disdain and said “Yeah, except she’s not really here so maybe you can arrange a meeting later.” Which Liam found VERY amusing.

And then Louis again Jim Halperts the world.

“It’s good to see you, Jim.” Bones said after Jim almost died for the first time.

“It’s good to see you, Jim.” Bones said after Jim came back from two weeks of being held captive by the alien race he insisted on greeting in person along with the rest of the away team.

“It’s good to see you, Jim.” Bones almost choked out when Jim finally blinked up at him from his hospital bed, the one Bones had been hovering over for weeks trying to bring him back to life.

“It’s good to see you, Jim.” Bones whispered into his hair when Jim threw his arms around him and cried on his shoulder, muffled apologies and promises to never walk out like that again, he never really meant to leave, he was just scared Bones would do it first.

“It’s good to see you, Jim.” Bones said when he joined him at the aisle, watched by the people they both loved most, sitting in rows behind them. Jim wanted to smack that stupid (gorgeous) smirk off his face, but he refrained, widening his smile instead. It just wouldn’t have seemed like a good start to a married life.

May the Force Be With You

Notes: Holy moly, my first actual fic in, like, forever. This one got away from me BIG time but I couldn’t help it! It was such a great idea that sargar3000 and I played around with back in September I believe. Either way, I hope you enjoy this and the little surprise from a certain little creative artist (Who I humbly thank for giving me the idea and creating such a cute picture! YOU’RE AMAZING!). And shout out to jennyupabove for being an awesome person and keeping my writing in check!

Enjoy and Happy Halloween! :D

I've been marathoning the office, first time I see it, just finished season 7... I literally have not cried in years but when Michael said goodbye to Jim I was tearing up

yES! Let’s talk about this for a sec. So apparently when John (Jim) went in to do that scene he started crying so hard and couldn’t do it because he didn’t want to say goodbye to Steve (Michael). So those were real tears and if that doesn’t make you want to scream I don’t know what will. Just when Jim says “best boss I ever had” that part gets me. And how Jim just knows that Michael is going to leave when he says “you’re not leaving tomorrow. You’re leaving today.” Yep, that’s rough. Ouch.

love your words of mckirk! i would like to see Bones who can't reject Jim's requests. thank u <3

thank you, darling! so my first thought for this was just smut, and then it got silly like ella enchanted, and then we got here.

Bones couldn’t remember when the ring had gotten there. For as far as he knew, it’d always been; it was part of him, and it always would be. A simple silver band that could fit any finger, until it was no longer meant to.

His memory had begun to fade on the previous wearers over the years, centuries, the stories of him had spun into mysterious tales, with magic lamps and sultans, but it had always just been that simple ring. It was nothing incredible like granting endless wealth or wondrous powers, just simply that he would do whatever his master wished of him, always and forever, as long as they wore his ring.

No one ever noticed the ring but him. They would simply slip it from his finger and place it on one of their own, apparently unaware. Jocelyn had put it on her left ring finger, like a wedding ring, and Leonard couldn’t remember when he’d last been so happy to receive a new master. She had been kind and loving, until she had not. He did everything that she had wished of him, but it brought neither of them happiness.

With anger in her eyes and sadness in her heart, she told him to never return. The ring hit the ground as she turned from him for the last time.

He was more careful about who he let see the ring after that; not that it mattered. Whoever was meant to have it was drawn to it, and not even Leonard could prevent them from owning it or him.

And it didn’t happen again until a beat up kid on a shuttle shook his hand and took the ring as he slipped his hand away.

An Open Letter to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar---You have failed your children.

When I heard about your son, Josh Duggar’s, molestation of four of his sisters—your daughters—and one other young child as a teenager, I was sickened, but not surprised.  I stopped viewing the your family as a novelty years ago, after delving deeper into your views and what’s really behind your quaint, TLC facade.

When I heard the reactions of the your family, I was infuriated, but not surprised.  Any belief system that puts the weight of modesty and chastity on a woman and determines her very worth by it would also find some way to defend a predatory teenager and his vile acts.

But when I heard about the two Ashley Madison I’m-actively-cheating-on-my-wife accounts your son had been keeping—all while preaching about the sanctity of marriage and how the gays are defiling it—I laughed.

And then I almost cried.

I knew Anna would be blamed.

I knew this because, in your sect of faith (and in many others) women are placed below the men and are often made to carry the weight of man’s every whim.  She must be sexually available at all times:

           1. Say yes to sex, even when you’re tired. Michelle says
a friend gave her advice to live by before she and Jim Bob
married in 1984: “She said, ‘In your marriage there will be
times you’re going to be very exhausted. Your hubby
comes home after a hard day’s work, you get the baby
to bed, and he is going to be looking forward to that
time with you.’” — she’s talking about sex, just so
everyone’s clear — “'Be available. Anyone can fix him
lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need
of love that he has, and you always need to be available
          when he calls.’”
—Michelle Duggar, Feb. 2014, Today Parents

Anna will be asked if she was available enough for him.  Sexually.  A wife must be available to her husband’s sexual advances at all times.  His hard work will supersede her own, and she must answer when he calls.  A paradox from what she’s been taught all her life—that her body is shameful, that she should cover it, that she shouldn’t explore it, that she should fear the looks from men.

I knew this because your homeschooling curriculum addresses inappropriate sexual advances, and again, blames it on immodest dress:

I know this, because Josh, in his ever-growing political wisdom, found a way to blame porn—something his former employer, the Family Rights Council, fights to rid the world of—for his actions:

"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing
faith and family values, I have secretly over the last
several years been viewing pornography on the internet
and this became a secret addiction and I became
          unfaithful to my wife.“
—Josh Duggar, official statement Aug. 2015

By placing the blame on porn, he again places the responsibility of the indiscretions of men on the shoulders of women.  Exploited women.

And I know this, because your daughters spoke on national television, explaining that Josh was just doing what curious little boys do.

I wasn’t aware that curious little boys normally predate on their younger sisters in their sleep.

Placing the blame—any blame—on women has been a worldwide fueling agent for everything from acid attacks to honor killings to the millions of misogynistic trolls who stalk comment forums daily, degrading women by any means possible to further elevate the status of men as infallible beings.

Your teachings have been one of the catalysts for these notions and egregious infringements on human rights.

You have failed your daughters by teaching them they must submit to a man’s will, no matter who that man is; you failed them by sewing the modesty of an entire generation into their floor-length skirts; you failed them when you placed your son’s well-being over theirs.  You taught them that men will always come first.  You taught them without their “purity,” they are no better than spit in someone else’s cup.

What if we were at a meeting with about 100 other
people and the speaker asked that a large cup be
passed around and that everyone spit in the cup?
What if you happened to be all the way in the back
        — the last person on the last row — and when the
cup finally came to you, the speaker asked you to
drink out of the cup? What would you do?’”
 —Jim Bob Duggar

You failed your sons by showing them that the way you regard women is respectful instead of degrading and objectifying; you failed them when you made them incapable of shouldering the responsibility of any wrongdoing, instead placing the blame on women.  You failed them when you raised them to believe that a woman’s only worth is her modesty and virginity.

America is in a strange place.  We have a celebrity with no experience in government leading the polls for a political party whose views he opposed just a few short years ago.  We have an emergence of people spouting hatred and discrimination under the guises of religious freedom and heritage.  We balk at any suggestion that someone else—some other country—may be doing it better than we are, because betterment suddenly equals defeat.  A lack of patriotism.

And we are worshiping a family who believes that women are second-class citizens, that knee caps are immodest, and that a teenage boy who molests his sisters and grows into a man who cheats on his wife is in some way still worthy of defense.
