i cant color this movie at all

The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can’t do. For instance, you can accept that your father was a pirate and a good man or you can’t. But pirate is in your blood, boy, so you’ll have to square with that some day. And me, for example, I can let you drown, but I can’t bring this ship into Tortuga all by me onesies, savvy?
So, can you sail under the command of a pirate, or can you not?

True Colors HC

I had an idea, why would branch suddenly sing true colors ? Well, when he sees everyone turning grey, hopeless and sad, he has a flashback. When poppy and branch were kids, poppy was being so curious about branch’s color. She was always begging him to tell her. But he always changed subject ( like he does in the movie ). So, poppy sang him this song. He immediately fell in love with her voice but obviously denied it. And when poppy hear this song she cant help but remember all the time she sang it when we was being grey. Thats probably why she got her colors back so fast.

yknow, even the not-so-good disney princess movies have redeeming factors, whether it’s the music, the colors, the animation, etc., but… i genuinely cant think of a single thing from frozen i enjoyed. the story wasn’t compelling, the animation felt flat and lifeless (especially on elsa), the endless snowy scenery didn’t have anything interesting to look at, it was a bad adaptation of “the snow queen”, all of the songs were jammed into acts 1 + 2 and while “let it go” had good visuals and vocals, disney overhyped it to the point of annoyance. the plot twist was predictable, hans was a terrible antagonist, and elsa was an unlikeable character who would’ve been better off as a villain. the early concept art for this movie, especially for elsa, was gorgeous and creative, and what we ended up with was someone’s anime-eyed deviantArt oc.

it was especially disappointing for me as a big fan of the original fairytale. i remember being so excited when i saw the tagline “only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart”. i expected an imaginative adaptation of a classic, if not as well known, story. i didnt get that. at all.

overall, frozen is definitely one of the weakest of the disney movies that got far too much attention, and the overhype made it a huge disappointment to anyone expecting creativity and entertainment.

Growing Up Black With Disney

I tried to explain to a chick about the effects of Disney on poc and it didnt work well. I cant be the only one, outside of disney conspirators, that dont think disney is the best for children of color to be immeresed in all the time.

I understand they have changed and areaking changes but that doesnt mean they arent still benefiting from and perpetuating racism and sexism in their movies. Like yeah, moanas alright, mulan is great, frozen is ok, and so on but its not about what you think kids see and pick up from one movie. its how it relates to their world and their identities. I remember being yound watching disney, fasicinated with charactes like kim possible and raven because the female leads were bad asses and their characters didnt have the sole purpose of finding a man or being a wife.

Then we can get into conversation about how undercover cues in what we watch and see has long terms effects on how you view the world and how it views you. As children of color in America, developing your identity starts at a young age. We are exposed to some shit at a young age and dont even realize it until your behavior has changed and you are forced to think back on it.

Whats the number one thing all little girls want to be after being imeresed in dinsey princess movies?

to be a princess, have kingdom, get a man, have children, etc.

I, being a barely homeless black dark skinned child with a single mother who was dark skinned, could not see myself in those shows, and only picked up the white people invovled in everything images,
white men are the only way to get out of situations that were bad,
black women can only be support characters with not a lot of ambition if any representation at all,
mothers arent normally supportive or around or single parents are normalized but fathers need to be around, not a want but a need,
etc.

this list could literally go on. And i love to watch disney movies now, but im not going to be ignorant just because they have princess and the frog or moana.

People who don’t have firsthand experiences about shit write movies all the time. People who have never been in war have wrote war movies, people who aren’t even of color write about racism in their movies, it goes on. And do you know what those people, most of the time, do? They consult with people who have firsthand experience. They do their homework. So stop bitching that About Jay is written by cis people and enjoy the fact that we have a movie ABOUT A TRANS BOY. Can you think of any trans men being represented in media? Because I cant. All you hear about is the trans ladies taking over the world. The men? Nope. Trans rep is like the opposite of cis characters.
