i cannot wait to see this show

in all seriousness, without getting into specific spoilers, I think the thing that bowls me over the most about the adventure zone is the absolute love and care you can feel in every single piece of it that comes out of it being a podcast medium.

like… we see Griffin talking on twitter about his adoration, and Justin and Clint busting at the seams trying not to talk about things that are coming, Travis fucking picking up woodworking to create the things his character does in canon to feel the emotional impact. Part of the reason this show has worked it’s way so into my heart is because of how much it’s so obvious the creators adore it, and the story they’re telling, and how much you can HEAR it as they perform their story.

The day I knew I was in on this podcast forever was absolutely at the end of Eleventh Hour, during the backstory episode. Magnus’ section of the episode was right before the ad break, and Griffin had an NPC describing how he could change his past, the worst mistakes of his life, and save the person closest to him, and as soon as he says “you can save them”, the mic picked up Travis making a small gasp in realization. Just one hitch of breath. That simple action has stuck with me for months, and it shines out in so many aspects of their vocal performance. You know things are about to get serious with Taako when Justin’s voice gets low, and flat, and directly to the point. There’s a way Clint breathes in and goes “well, you know…” when you just know things are about to get so real. And Griffin’s narration, the way his voice warbles with a little laugh when he’s delivering the one-two emotional punch.

I just… I adore seeing creators love their creations and these boys have gone above and beyond, especially this arc, to perform their characters to their fullest extent. I’m just so, so thankful of the dedication and craft they’ve brought to this show, and while I’m sad to see it go, I cannot wait to see how it ends.

IM SO PROUD OF YOU MARK!

@markiplier words cannot describe how proud i am of you and the gang for your accomplishment tonight! You guys are truly inspiring and have put so much of yourselves into everything you do. While I’m super sad that that i couldn’t catch the Indianapolis show on Sunday, my hope is that you will come home to Cincinnati (where i live) and do a show because NOTHING will stop me from seeing! Good luck with the rest of the tour and I can’t wait to hear all about it when you get home!

i cannot wait to rediscover characters i’ve already grown to love by watching them from sana’s point of view this season. because sana sees, truly sees people. she pays so much attention, she is truly so wise, and she notices things which aren’t so obvious to the common eye. she truly sees people’s worth, and their potential, and their essence. and i cannot wait to see her shine this season, and i cannot for everyone else on the show to shine as we see them through her eyes

Why the Linda Cho Snub Stings

And here we go, folks: as promised, my first in a series of critical posts regarding Broadway, culture, and my opinion on the state of theatre today.

Let me preface this post with a clear disclaimer: I am a major fan of Anastasia and have been since the Don Bluth movie came out in 1997. I also understand why Santo Loquasto was selected by the American Theatre Wing as this year’s Tony winner for costume design; I congratulate him heartily, because he is a master of the craft.

But with that out of the way, I disagree with the American Theatre Wing on this award and truly believe that the award should have gone to Linda Cho for her work on Anastasia. I think this honestly was the most upsetting snub for me last night. In some ways, this gets to the heart of another post I made. From an aesthetic standpoint, Linda Cho’s costumes were more visually impressive, more memorable, and more original than those for Hello, Dolly! I’m not alleging any animus in the ATW’s decision, to be clear; it goes more to the somewhat staid, static vision of theatre possessed by the eligible voters.

Now, part of the reason I find the HD costumes uninspiring is because thanks to HD being a revival, there is a kind of need to look to the past productions for inspiration, since the director and producers were not trying to go for some kind of completely original setting (which is fine, for the record!).

But to my mind, the Best Costume Design category is designed to reward originality and accomplishment, not just improvements on a theme. The costumes that Linda Cho designed for Anastasia manage to have a kind of timeless elegance that grabs the eye and forces you to notice not only the actors, but the costumes themselves.

Anya’s (Christy Altomare) red and blue gowns from Act II have stuck in my head since the very first stills were released to Playbill ages and ages ago. For visual pops, you cannot beat these (all photos are either from Playbill or other publicly available sources, and are not my property):

Both of these gowns exude a classic elegance that is unrivaled on Broadway today, paying homage to the source material (the high society of the Roaring 20s in Paris, as well as the Russian designs included on the red gown) while still looking fresh.

The lines on the blue gown in particular are exquisite, and give Christy Altomare (who is not a tall woman) the appearance of added height without it being obvious that is what it’s designed to do.

The costumes for the Romanovs are also elegant, sophisticated, and memorable (I lack a proper still for this that I can attribute to Playbill or Broadway World or Broadway Box and thus the still is drawn from Pinterest; if you are the original photographer, please message me and I will edit this post to credit you).

For those familiar with the show, you know the ones I mean: the ghostly pearlescent white of Nicholas, Alexandra, and the others slain at the start of the musical. The costumes are graceful, and a good match to many images of the real Romanovs in the era in which the prologue is set. But as with Anya’s gowns…truly, there is a level beyond the simple. I called them “ghostly” for a reason: you can’t look at them without having a terrible sense that these people (innocent for the purposes of the musical) are about to be slain. Linda Cho made funeral shrouds out of ballgowns–and that is a metaphor that works on a huge number of levels.

But you know where Linda Cho really gets me? The costumes for Lily (Caroline O’Connor), Vlad (John Bolton), and Dimitry (Derek Klena). Let’s take each in turn, with just one example per.

This is a Playbill still from the Broadway performance of (I believe) either “Land of Yesterday” or “The Countess and the Common Man”. One of my fellow fanastasias ( @nikolaevna-romanova or @anyasdimitry perhaps?) can confirm which scene/number.

I’ll focus on Lily for the moment. That gold dress is clearly designed to pop. Lily is a fun, flirty, outrageous character, like her spiritual predecessor in the 1997 film as voiced by the divine Bernadette Peters. Caroline O’Connor brings a downright saucy quality to the character that this gown is designed to highlight. The character is a fallen aristocrat who acts as press secretary/majordomo to the Dowager Empress. She’s supposed to look wealthy–but a kind of shabby wealthy, like someone down on their luck.

So let’s take a closer look at this Linda Cho masterpiece (via Broadway Box):

The pattern and the cut of the dress are simple–much simpler than would have been worn by the nouveaux-riches of post-war Paris, but still quite elegant and stylish, especially when accented with the lace gloves. But it’s a far cry from the style that Countess Malevsky-Malevitch would have been used to in her old life in imperial St. Petersburg. She’s had to make reductions–but damn if she’s not going to make them work. Linda Cho really captures that perfectly. This dress looks, in addition to being beautiful, like it might have come from a very high end store, but wasn’t custom-made as would have been expected of someone with massive resources. While presenting a memorable dress, Linda Cho stuck to the history: Lily is down on her old circumstances (as the Romanov family was post-Revolution) but she will still Look The Part.

Next, I look at how Linda Cho costumed Vlad Popov, the would-be Count and titular Common Man of the previous number. This still is courtesy of Getty.fr and numerous other news orgs, and is from the Broadway opening night:

It looks pretty fancy, right? It is! But if you look at it closely and in the context of the play, it’s in the same category as Lily’s gold dress. The fabrics are clearly fine, but it’s not a custom tailoring, even though this comes after he is restored to some measure of glory. Linda Cho replicates a rich French brocade for the vest and matches it to the morning coat perfectly (more technically, I believe it’s a stroller, though the term is anachronistic for the year the musical is set). But there’s a reminder to the common-man status in the design of the trousers: leaving them striped, subtly, the way Linda Cho did is a subtle signal that Vlad is not born to wealth–no aristocrat would have styled themselves that way. But he mixes the two styles in a subtle nod to what he is (a commoner) and what he pretends to be (a Count).

Finally, there’s the costuming for Dimitry. Playbill ran this still before opening night, and it’s a perfect one to showcase why Linda Cho was such a genius with her choices:

We know from the musical that Dima is a poor con artist, really not much more than a gutter rat as it were and his costuming matches. The fabrics he wears are rough-hewn and cheap-looking (by intention) because he would never have been able to afford anything else unless he aggressively bartered. As a good man in early Communist Russia, he wouldn’t have had the resources to style himself any better–we get the sense Vlad can only because he had the clothes beforehand. Dimitry is all commoner, all working class, all rough (the same with Anya’s Act I wardrobe).

Now, it’s easy to make a costume look cheap–but Linda Cho does more than that. She makes it look cared for. After all, Dimitry has no resources to replace a winter coat if it’s torn, and so we see that while worn, it’s clearly cared for. His shoulder bag, if a bit out of place in the era, is the same: the leather is time-worn and it’s clearly a possession he has had most of his life. That’s not an easy look to master, and to execute it so flawlessly requires real skill.

Here’s my bottom line. The costumes that Linda Cho designed were bold and innovative, and perfectly matched to the heart and soul of the characters who wore them. They took some risks in the way in which they used colors and fabrics, and they blended some modern sensibilities with the design elements and fabrics of the era the musical is set in. That is the kind of thinking that I feel the American Theatre Wing had a chance to reward with the Tony in 2017, and it’s why I feel disappointed by the snubbing of Linda Cho. Her costumes weren’t groundbreaking, but they were unique, they were original, and above all, they felt like they improved the overall quality of the show for their presence.

I doubt Linda Cho will ever read this, but if she does: you own the Tony in my mind, and I cannot wait to see what you come up with for the next show lucky enough to hire you to design their costumes.

Haha I don’t know how to make something into a gif, can anyone help?

Will any of the TftSA gang show up in LoS or QoAaD? I would love to see MarisolxJon or Julie and Beatriz again! I cannot wait for LoS!

You’ll see Jon – he’s a Centurion now – and Marisol is mentioned (as his girlfriend.)

Show Up Early to Your Medical Appointments!

My clientele have a chronic tardiness problem that has only gotten worse as time has gone on. Other veterinarians and human doctors also report that people are showing up late more often. This creates huge problems and is very frustrating for everyone involved.

Most medical facilities for both pets and people have specific appointment times that can vary depending on what the visit is for. At my hospital all appointments are 30 minutes. Let’s say you have an appointment with your dog for vaccines at 10:00. That means from 10:00-10:30 my schedule is blocked off. If you come in at 10:20 I likely will not have enough time to do everything I need, answer any questions you may have, and fully examine your dog. If my 10:30 shows up on time do I stop your appointment and go see the punctual person? Do I continue your appointment and then show up for the other one late? Or maybe I should juggle both appointments at once, hopping from room to room. As you can see none of these options are good ones. People that show up late are generally the ones that complain the most if they have to wait or if they feel they didn’t get enough of the vet’s time. We simply cannot keep everyone happy and practice good medicine if people do not show up time. So what should you do?

Plan to arrive to your appointment 15 minutes early. This will help in case there are traffic problems, computer issues, etc. etc. the worst that will happen is you wait for 15 minutes. Sometimes we can even get you in early and you can leave earlier.

Be honest about your visit and bring only the pet scheduled. We plan our days based on what we have going on. If you say you just need a rabies vaccine for your cat but then once you come in let me know she has been vomiting for 4 months and now isn’t eating, it messes up the schedule. Also only bring one pet at a time unless you booked more than 1. We really cannot “just take a look” at your other animal.

Be understanding. Sometimes emergencies come in and we must see them first even if you have an appointment. Be thankful that it isn’t your pet that needs help and also realize that if it were you with the emergency you would not want the vet to finish up a vaccine appointment before taking care of your pet.

If you are going to be late, call us! Please let us know. Far too often people just show up sometimes hours later than they were scheduled without telling us. We can often fit you in elsewhere or let another doctor see you. Back to understanding- if you are late please understand that we may not have another spot to put you or it may not be a time that works for you.

This is becoming a problem of epidemic proportions and we are unable to provide the care needed to people and pets because of it. My hospital is considering charging people for the visit if they are more than 10 minutes late and don’t call or if they are don’t show up at all. I know other places that make people pre-pay for the visits to encourage them to show up. A few vets I know have actually had to raise prices to make up for the huge number of people that take up slots but never show, they were losing money.

Be kind. Be considerate. Show up early to your appointments.

Here’s a silly one. Rank Katie’s roles in terms of hawtness (@rtracker).

Alrighty. This killed me, because personally, I would just choose them all. Can’t I just have them all??? It was almost as difficult as having to decide which character I would date (a high point in my life), so thanks for that! But first I had to consider my criteria for Maximum Hawtness™. It was necessary. I mean we all know Katie is gorgeous and hot af no matter what. So instead I had to consider things beyond Katie’s perfect face.

Sooo personal style, attitude, the way she carries herself, innocence vs. …naughtiness? Sauciness? Can that be a thing? Sure! Oh, and chemistry and interactions with other characters. That’s a big one. Leaving out the usual characters. So here is my list.

1. Kate Foster (But of course!)

Pretty sure a lot of you have seen me freak out about Kate. When it comes to judging hawtness, I am all for the sharp and pointy. When did the question of wanting fries cause anyone to become uncomfortably aroused?? When Kate Foster asked the question, that’s when! Kate is smooth, seductive and she spends pretty much her entire date with Erica looking like she is ready to rip her clothes of with her teeth. …Yeah that’s pretty hot. Bonus points for the lingering touches and the sex hair the morning after. #shooketh

2. Lena Luthor

The perfect combination of sharp and pointy and soft and squishy. There is definitely something about her that has drawn so many in. The heart-eyes, the perfect buns, the eyebrows, the lip-bite, the red lipstick… Then there is the fact that she dresses like she’s on her way to view the next big line during fashion week (That Magenta Coat™ tho). Speaking of the lip biting, heart-eyes, and eyebrows, is it me or is Lena more flirty than pretty much all of Katie’s characters combined? Throw all of that on top of the fact that she is an angel and classy af and you can just consider me deceased.

Pssst. If you are for any reason interested in more of Katie being hot and/or my somewhat warranted opinion/endless thirst, keep reading! Ok let’s move on.

Series: Criminal Minds
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Reader
Warnings: mentions of emotional abuse

‘Request: can I get protective Reid pls? Like over an abusive ex or something? Thanks’

Well, this request coincided well 😂💕

- - - - - -

Your phone vibrated on the desk beside the case file. The conference room was empty apart from you and Reid so far. You picked it up, glancing at the message before signing and placing it back down.

“Everything okay, Y/N?” Reid asked beside you.

“Yeah. It’s just, uhm, remember Y/E/N?” You saw Reid’s jaw clench for a brief second. You took that as a yes. “He keeps texting me saying he misses me lately and that he wants me back.”

“And do you? Want him back, I mean?”

“God, no. He was manipulative and selfish. I told him to piss off after the first string of texts but I’m just ignoring him now.”

“Good. You deserve so much better, Y/N.” Reid muttered under his breath as the rest of the team filled the room and took their places.

“Yesterday in Boston, the bodies of two women were found-”

As you focused on Garcia, Reid stared at you, looking for any traces of stress.

Spencer knew what your ex was like. He was the one who’d hold and comfort you on your bad days while your ex went out and partied and then got upset with you because Reid had his arms around you.

Spencer was there to witness the gas lighting, all the arguments that were Y/E/N’s fault but somehow ended up in you apologising.

Spencer was there when you doubted yourself because your ex made you feel guilty for speaking about something that made you uncomfortable and accused you of just being jealous or clingy or oversensitive.

Spencer was the one who helped you realise that when your ex cheated and ended the relationship, you were lucky. Lucky that you had managed to get out of a relationship that was extremely toxic.

Spencer was the one who helped you to never look back but he never once forgave what your ex had done and was worried that your ex might try to manipulate you back into his arms.

×

You and the rest of the team stepped out of the elevator after a successful case. You were happy. Spencer had made sure that your mind was off your ex, not that you had time to dwell while dealing with a serial killer.

You grabbed the handle and pulled open the door to the Bull Pen, looking over your shoulder as Morgan told a joke. You stopped in your tracks as your head turned towards your desk.

“Oh God. Oh God, oh God, oh God.” You held your face in your hand and turned towards the others.

“Y/N, what’s wrong?” Hotch asked, his eyebrows furrowing.

JJ’s eyes widened as she looked over at your desk. “That’s not…? Is it?”

“God, he cannot just take a hint.” You groaned. Spencer put his arm around you protectively and stared daggers towards Y/E/N who was brazenly leaning against your desk waiting for you.

“Who can’t? JJ, who is that?” Morgan’s voice rose.

“Y/N’s ex. Excuse me.” Spencer cleared his throat and motioned for JJ to take his place before striding across the Bull Pen.

“Care to explain what you’re doing here, Y/E/N?” Spencer crossed his arms.

“Dr Reid. Long time, no see. Listen, I’m just here to show Y/N how sorry I am for the way our relationship ended. I was a jerk, I shouldn’t have cheated. I was drunk and stupid and Y/N didn’t give me sex when I wanted it-”

Spencer landed a punch to your ex’s face that sent him crashing to the ground before crouching down at eye level. “No, you listen. You were emotionally manipulative. You were abusive. You made Y/N feel like shit not only about having normal worries but about herself. She deserves so much better than that, deserves much better than you. You are an asshole. She deserves someone who’s going to give her the world.”

Your ex gave a humourless chuckle, a trail of blood dripping from his nose. “And you think she’s gonna find that with you? The bloke she only views as a best mate.”

Spencer’s jaw clenched as he grabbed your ex and pulled him up. “She doesn’t want you back. Take a hint and stop trying. Don’t go anywhere near her and if I hear that you’ve bothered her again, I will be forced to do something that will have my badge and gun taken away from me. Are we clear?”

Your ex stayed silent.

“Morgan, get him out of here.”

Morgan stepped forward and grabbed a fistful of Y/E/N’s shirt, dragging him out of the building.

Spencer looked at the shock on your face and turned apologetic. “Y/N, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have freaked out like that-”

You cut him off by pulling him into a hug. “Thank you.”

A/N: Thank you for the awesome request, anon!

Pairings: Archie x reader

Warnings: minor swearing, lil bit of crying, anger

You sat in the back corner of the class, letting your mind take you to faraway places instead of where you were now. You thought about the taste of salty Pop’s fries, the sweet shake you adored. Looking to your side to see your loving boyfriend Archie holding your hand, laughing with your best friend Cheryl over a joke. Jughead, Veronica and Betty walk up to you three and sit down, filling in where the conversation paused. Your best friends being happy with, not resentful towards Cheryl.

And then the bell rang. You were ripped from the beautiful scene as you picked up your bag and threw it on your back. Walking out, you saw Archie standing by the door, a smile appeared on his face when you two caught eyes. He, being significantly taller, kissed your forehead as you walked to the lunch.

“So, how was class?”

You let out a tremendous groan and tilted your head back.

“It sucked! I honestly daydreamed the whole class.”

Archie chuckled at your response and shook his head, his disheveled hair shaking.

“About?”

You looked over at him with a knowing glance and Archie let out his own groan. You’d told him about your thoughts for months and he was extremely opposed to the idea. Cheryl and Archie, let alone the rest, were like water and maple syrup. Didn’t mix, never wanted to. The sad thing was, they were so fixated on keeping you to themselves that it tore you in half, like paper.

You and Archie entered the caf and sat down at the table with Jug, Betty and Ronnie. An empty seat was on your right, which was unusual. Everyone knew that was the ‘sad breakfast club’s’ table. So an extra chair was peculiar.

The conversation started talking about going to Pop’s after school, but quickly ended with Cheryl walking up to the table. You could tell she gave a sincere smile to everyone, who gave glares back. Cheryl looked to you with pleading eyes and you had a warm smile on your face.

“Hi (Y/N), and everyone else here. Do you mind if I sit here?”

You went to say sure, but Archie cut in.

“Here’s a better idea: use the trashcan. Wait, that probably can’t fit your ego… How about talking a walk and sitting at the bottom of Sweetwater? Then you can finally make friends with the fish and snakes! Your kind, because if you couldn’t already tell you, nobody likes you.”

Archie looked up and gave her a spiteful smile. Everyone at the table laughed. Jug was hunched over, laughing until tears came out of his eyes. Betty tried to hide her smile and Ronnie was giving him a high five. Cheryl’s smile melted off her face and she looked back at you, who had a horrified expression.

“Okay. See you later, (Y/N).”

Cheryl turned on her heel and walked away, her head hanging. Archie fanned his face and slung his arm around your shoulders. You slapped his arm away and stood up from the table.

“Cheryl, wait!”

She turned around and Archie grabbed your wrist. You tore him away from you.

“I cannot believe how utterly disgusting you all are. You, Jughead, are a pig who can’t look up from your damn computer to notice that real people have emotions. And thanks for promoting this vile behavior, Veronica. Way to show maturity, little miss Big City Girl. At least you tried, Betty. But I guess it was harder than you’d expect to not be a bitch… Archie, I can’t even look at you. I-”

You took a deep breath, and looked at everyone at the table. They all sat, regretful and hurt expressions and all. You looked Archie in the eye and shook your head, pushing in your chair to walk over to Cheryl. You looped arms and walked out of the caf through the stares.

When you got to the hallway, hot and angry tears fell down your face. Cheryl turned around and gave you a tight hug. She was slowly crying and so were you.

“You’re amazing, Cheryl. Don’t listen to them.”

She pulled away and wiped the tears from your face.

“You don’t need them. You never did.”

You nodded slowly and she took your arm, dragging you out of the school.

anyway since it is pretty much confirmed that ramadhan will be shown on skam when it airs i cannot wait to see how skam shows it and that includes sana hosting a massive iftaar party at her place calling all the girl squad, boy squad and balloon squad over and just sharing a really sacred meal together with them and them all bonding.

I really enjoyed literally everything about “Battle for Mewni”
But
These two over here. Wow. Each one of the scenes where they were together just ended me. In a good way of course.

I fell in love with Moon since the very first time I saw her, something about her just enchanted me, maybe bc I could totally saw my own mother in her. On the other hand, Star is my babe haha, and I also understand her attitude towards Moon sometimes.

So for a really long time I’ve been craving to see more of these two together, bonding, sharing, getting to know each other deeply and all that.
And I couldn’t be happier right now because I just got all I wanted and it means the world to me!

EVERY SINGLE scene with these two melted my heart. Their relationship is not the best, there are misunderstandings and disagreements and it is really understandable because this two are opposite poles, but they really love and care for each other a lot.

Seeing how much Moon wanted to keep her baby safe at all cost to the point that she even put aside her husband and her whole kingdom, warmed my heart.
She lost her mother and a part of her, she wouldn’t stand losing her baby too.

When Toffee said “She’s gone” Moon completely lost it. I swear I could saw and felt her heart shattering. I cried so hard when she tried to cast Eclipsa’s spell again but this time with the wand pressed to Toffee’s heart. Her despair, her anger and her pain left me out of breath.
In that moment I saw young Moon mourning her mom’s death. I saw young Moon in front of Eclipsa with tears in her eyes. I saw her vulnerable side. The side she tried to hide for years.
And then, Star made her badass appearance, and I could felt Moon’s heart recollecting it’s own pieces and putting them back together. I felt her relief and her joy because her baby was safe and sound.
The way she stared at Star in that moment showed her infinite love towards her.
Moon can be strict and hard on Star sometimes, but she is a caring, a loving and a good mother that will sacrifice everything for her child.

I love this two girls so much and seeing them together gives me life. Cannot wait to see more bonding between them!

THANK YOU DARON NEFCY FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR THIS!
I LOVE MY BABES SO MUUUUCCHHHHHH!

A More Proper Review of GOTG2

Oh, man. What a movie this was.

First up, the music.
I enjoyed the music in this film, it was very fitting, with awesome songs in fight scenes, and mellow songs in calm scenes. It just fit the mood so well. While I admit it’s not as memorable as the first one, because, come on, you can’t top Hooked on a Feeling, it still does have its moments like Mr. Blue Sky, Brandy, Surrender, etc. Overall, 4.8/5.

Next, the characters. Spoilers follow, you’ve been warned.
Okay, I love, love, love Baby Groot. He’s adorable in every way and should be protected forever. And Teen Groot is even better.
Space Dads and Mom are great too. They each get their own character development, and I love that. Rocket learns he’s a bit like Yondu, Drax is teaching Mantis how to adapt to society, using things he learned from his family, Gamora lets go of her rivalry with Nebula, and Peter…
Oh, Peter. You poor guy. Your mom was killed by your blood father who is evil and your surrogate father was protecting you all along. And you lost 2 dads in not even 10 minutes. Dang. That hurts.
And as for Yondu, whoops, I mean Mary Poppins, what a badass. He stole his scenes in the movie, being a great dose of sorrow and laughter. I enjoyed his performance here, and it’s a shame we won’t see him again.
Nebula’s already cool, so not much to say about her. I’m glad she’s not fighting with her sister and out to kill Space God with a Capital G.
As for Ego, he’s an irredeemable jackass who deserved everything he got to him. End of discussion. I liked the build-up to the reveal, though.
Overall, for the characters, 10/5.

Next, my favourite scenes.
Can I not just say the whole movie? I mean, each scene is great in its own way. Action, drama, laughter, it’s just so perfectly executed. I enjoyed the credits, both opening and ending, they were just so fun. But I really enjoyed the Ravager Funeral scene. It’s just so beautiful, and heartbreaking, and UUUUGGGGHHHHH SO GOOOOOOOOOD.
Overall, 20/5.

The movie as a whole? (Ha, a-hole! :P)
James Gunn, you genius. You absolute sheer fucking genius. You’ve done it again. There are so many comic book and movie references, callbacks, continuity nods, it’s literally a perfect Marvel sequel. Stan Lee’s cameo was great, the 5 end credits scenes were great, Howard the Duck deserves a second chance at a movie, and I can’t wait for Volume 3.
Overall, 9999999999999999/5.

I cannot recommend this movie enough. It’s so good the word good can’t describe it anymore. Go watch it!

PS: Show of hands, who cried at Mary Poppins’ death? Because I know I’m not the only one who did.

(And cue Surrender.)

“You back looks great all scratched up.” Dan said as he bit his lower lip while he checked Phil out from the bed, who was putting his black skinny jeans in the middle of the bedroom.

They had just had sex and now Phil was getting ready to go and help his brother with some wedding thing. Or at least what is what Dan understood before the two of them stumbled into his flat and ended up undressing each other in the hallway.

“Yeah?” Phil looked at him over his shoulder, also looking at Dan as if he was the most delicious treat he was going to eat, “Yours should look the same after you fucked me yesterday in the sofa, I bet it also looks good.” he said with a cheeky smile before grabbing his button up shirt and rapidly doing up the buttons.

Dan chuckled at this and threw him a pillow, which Phil easily dodged by ducking his head and landed by his closet “Go or you will be late!”

Phil offered him a smile before picking up the pillow and throwing it back to Dan, who grabbed it and clutched it to his naked chest.

“See you at uni.” And with that Phil was gone.

_____________

Dan laid in his bed just thinking for an hour after Phil had left, still hugging the pillow the blue eyed had thrown at him. He and Phil weren’t in a relationship, they were just “friends with benefits” you could say. After a drunken hook-up at one of their many uni parties, they decided to continue having sex without any strings attached, just two guys helping each other out, that was it.

They first established some rules. One, just pecks were allowed, no tongue action (they only kissed pasionately that first time and that was it, no more) and two, if any of them wanted to meet and they weren’t with each other already they would text “I’m lonely” and the other would come, only if they were in the mood too.

But Dan was having trouble with this “relationship”. Everytime he and Phil meet he always had the urge to kiss him deep, but he knew he couldn’t and had to repress it. Oh, yeah, he also forgot to mention he was in love with Phil.

Somewhere in their agreement Dan realized that he wanted more than just casual sex with Phil. He wanted little dates in the park and lazy Sundays by the tv; but, he was sure Phil didn’t want that with him.

Dan let out a long sigh before climbing out of now cold sheets and heading to the shower. He needed to clear his mind.

_____________

Phil was mindlessly walking to meet his brother to talk about his wedding. Yeah, Martyn was getting married to his high school sweethart and he still hadn’t found anyone. Well, he kind of had Dan but… They were just “friends with benefits” so it really wasn’t a boyfriend/boyfriend relationship, and he wanted one of those. But not with anyone, just with Dan. He wanted to be with Dan; he wanted to be his boyfriend.

He had been wanting to ask Dan out properly, but he was afraid the brown haired didn’t want something more and their “friends with benefits” thing would go to waste along with their friendship. He let out a frustrated groan at this, he didn’t think being in love with someone would be so difficult.

“What’s bothering you so much, little brother?” a deep voice said behind him, making Phil jump a bit.

“Martyn! Don’t scare me like that!” the blue eyed turned around to hug his brother, “Nothing, just, life things…”

“Life things, uh? Do these life things have brown eyes and hair?” Martyn teased him, poking him in the ribs, “by the way, when are you going to tell Dan you love him?”

“Shhh! I don’t want the whole street to know!” Phil shushsed him, grabbing him by the forearm and pulling him to the zebra crossing, waiting for the light to turn green. “And I don’t know, I just don’t wanna lose him, okay?”

He was glad he told Martyn about his agreement with Dan. He had to after he showed up one day with hickeys on his neck and Martyn practically pressured him to tell him who he was seeing.

“I know that Phil, but maybe it’s best if you finally tell him, I mean, you two cannot keep this forever, right?” Martyn was right. They couldn’t keep this forever and he knew it. “Well, maybe…”

“Maybe what, Martyn? Just spit out what you wanna say.”

“Maybe you could tell him at my wedding! You are still bringing Dan as your ’‘plus one” right? It will be all romantic and nice.“ the oldest Lester rushed out, not wanting Phil to stop him midsentence.

’'I don’t think it’s a good idea… your wedding it’s only a week away, it is too soon! I’m not ready.” Phil complained. Saturday was just a week away and it was going to be an stressing week and… no, he couldn’t.

“You want me to be honest? I think Dan deserves to know that you love him, you cannot keep dragging you both into the rabbit hole of what a ’'friends with benefits” relationship or whatever it is that you two have, don’t you think?“ Martyn responded, now being him who had to bring his brother by the forearm so they could cross the street.

Phil nooded, really debating in his head if he should just go with his brother’s idea…

’'Don’t think too much about it, little brother. If you feel brave enough to tell him at the wedding just do, if not, well, you could always tell him some other day, but don’t wait years, please!” Martyn almost pleaded him in the middle of the street.

“Okay, I will think about it but I don’t promise anything!” Phil said, lifting his voice a bit at the last word.

“That’s my bro!” and then Martyn ruffled his hair, messing up his not so straightened black hair that had been slightly disheveled after his activities with Dan a few minutes ago…

“Stop it!” Phil laughed, trying to tame his hair, “Let’s go have a coffee before you start rating about how much you like the flavour for your wedding cake for the seventeenth time in this past week.”

“I think I only said it fifteen, but okay.”

Phil just contunued walking faster, leaving his brother behind.

_____________

Dan had invited his friend Louise over on Tuesday so she could help him with the suit he was going to wear to Phil’s brother’s wedding. Phil was Martyn’s best man and Dan was going as his 'plus one’ since he wasn’t really dating anyone and what a better way to bare a family wedding than bringing your best friend slash fuckbuddy to it, uh?

He and Phil hadn’t been able to see each other yesterday or today at uni, they both had busy schedules and Phil even more with the wedding being in like five days so he just texted each other in class breaks or at night. He was kind of missing Phil’s presence, and it had just been a few days…

“I think you should wear the black one, Dan, the grey doesn’t suit you that much…” Louise commented, watching Dan’s reflection on the giant mirror of his bedroom.

“Yeah, I also think so…” Dan murmured, appreciating the body the suit made him. He looked great. “Now, which tie?” he turned to face Louise and picked up the two he though they would look the best on him and he held them against his chest which was claded in the white button up shirt he was wearing underneath his suit.

“Um, you know, the scarlet red looks great but the emerald green though, it looks amazing!” Louise exclaimed, snatching the red one from Dan’s hand and throwing it behind her, “also Phil loves green so it’s a bonus.”

“Yeah, he loves green, it’s his favourite colour…” Dan ducked his head and turned around again, trying not to show the blush that was appearing on his cheeks due to the though of Phil linking his tie.

“Do not dare to hide your rosy cheeks from me Daniel Howell!” Louise said, pointing at the reflection in the mirror where she could see everything, “I know thinking of Phil makes you al soft so don’t even try!”

Dan chuckled. Louise was a great friend, really. When he told her he and Phil had a kind of no-strings-attached sex she had been a bit worried about him, but about a few months ago he confessed to her that he had fallen in love with Phil and was waiting for the perfect moment to tell him and she was estastic. Even though he didn’t think Phil loved him back he couldn’t hide his feelings anymore.

“Are you planning on telling him you love him at the wedding?” Louise’s voice brought him back to reality, “I know you think he doesn’t love you back but let me tell you, I have seen the way he looks at you at lectures or when we all hang out and that is love, I know it when I see it.”

“I don’t know, it’s his brother’s wedding, he will probably be around his family all the time…” Dan muttered, giving up trying to tie the piece of clothing around his neck and sitting next to Louise in his bed, “I just realized that casual sex with him it’s not enough for me. I want to hold his hand while we walk or kiss him everytime he jumps from excitement when he gets a good grade on a essay but I cannot do that because I’m not his boyfriend and it sucks.” Dan sighed and let his body fall slowly against the mattress, ending with a 'puf’.

Louise put a comforting hand over his knee, shaking it a bit, “I think you should tell him, maybe by the end of the wedding, see if you can get him alone…”

Dan was silently thinking about what his friend was saying before speaking again, “If it doesn’t work out you are going to have to buy all the ice cream and tissues that are left in the supermarket next to your flat.”

“It will, don’t worry. It will.” Louise offered him a smile before letting herself fall back down onto the mattress also, “Now, what do you say we watch a movie in our pyjamas, eh?”

“You are the best, Louise. Thank you.”

“No need to thank me, you know I’m here for everything Dan, but now, popcorn and movies await!” Louise jumped from the bed and held out a hand for her friend so he could lift himself up.

“You know? Popcorn is Phil’s favourite food, he eats it everytime; when he is studying, reading a book, playing videogames… ” Dan cheekily told her, grabbing her hand and standing up next to her.

Louise let out a groan and smaked him on the shoulder, “Stop being so in love Howell, ugh, it’s disgusting.”

Even though she was already out of the room she could hear Dan’s loud laugh echoing through the hallway, following her to prepare the movie night.

_____________

The day was finally here. It was the Saturday his brother was getting married and he couldn’t stop pacing around the church’s altar stairs, where he would be standing in less than an hour.

Phil felt a bit guilty because on the previous days to the wedding he had practically ignored Dan because of his nerves even though he had wanted the opposite of that. He just wanted a comforting hug from the brown eyed and to tell him everything was going to be fine, that he wasn’t going to fuck it up as the clumsy guy he was.

What if he didn’t come because Phil just didn’t make sure he was going to come? What if Dan was mad at him and decided that not showing up whas the perfect revenge for it? No, Dan wouldn’t do that, right?

But not only that. He had also been worrying a lot about how to tell Dan he loves him. It was too much…

“Phil, you are going to create a hole on the floor with all your pacing.” he heard his mom’s voice a few feet away from him.

“I’m just nervous mum, what if I trip or something? You know coordination is not my thing…” Phil worriedly said, looking at the floor.

“It’s not going to happen, don’t worry dear. But I’m sensing something more is wrong, do you wanna talk about it?”

He knew his mom would sense that he couldn’t be just that nervous about tripping or falling. But he couldn’t tell his mum that he had just been ignoring his best friend and was afraid he wouldn’t come and ruin his plan of telling him that he loves him.

“I’m fine mum, it will go away.” He could see his mom didn’t believe him, but he didn’t care, this wasn’t the moment to confess something like that.

She just nodded and brought him into a hug, which he gladly accepted and let himself find some comfort in his mother’s arms “Dan will come, don’t worry, okay?”

Phil just separated himself from the hug to look dazzedly at his mum, 'how did she even know?’

“Philip, don’t look so surprised, a mother knows best.”

And with that Mrs. Lester made her way out of the venue to greet the few guests that were starting to arrive, leaving Phil to defeatedly sit in one of the benches.

_____________

Dan paid the taxi that brought him to the venue and was now climbing up the stairs to the main entrance of the church where the wedding was taking place.

He had been deep in thought all the way to here because he and Phil hadn’t been talking that much this week. He sensed Phil was just nervous and he probably didn’t want to bother him with wedding stuff, so he kept it all to himself like he always did, even though Dan had tried to approach Phil he just dismissed it, telling him he was fine when he clearly just needed a hug.

But now it wasn’t time to dwell on what happened those days before, he needed to make sure today went okay so he could finally confess his feelings, even though he was sure they wouldn’t be reciprocated…

A chirpy voice called him from the main entrance as he was just stepping the last few three stairs, “Daniel! It’s so nice too see you, look at you all dashing in that suit, such a handsome gentleman you are!”

“Hello Mrs. Lester, thank you so much,” Dan blushed a bit but still found his charm to compliment her too, “You look beautiful too, lilac looks good on you.”

Mrs. Lester just shushed him and grabbed his forearm, bringing him inside, “Now go, see if you can stop Phil from creating a hole by the altar from all the nervous pacing he was doing.”

“But…” and before Dan could even respond she was already greeting another guest.

The brown haired just sighed and started walking down further into the church, spotting Phil sitting down in one of the front rows, as if he was admiting the architecture from the church’s ceiling. The light that was streaming down the stained glass windows was creating different patterns on it, making the scenery much beautiful than it already was.

Dan quietly made his way down next to Phil, trying not to make any noise till he was sitting next to his best friend, who hadn’t spotted him already. “Nervous?”

Phil jumped up from the bench at the voice and let out a loud 'Ahhh’ at Dan’s appearence, “Dan! Don’t scare me like that again!”

Dan laughed, standing up in front of Phil, “I just had to, you were in the perfect position to be scared!” Phl just huffed, glad that Dan had decided to show up.

“At least you weren’t pacing like your mom told me you would be, care to tell me why are you so nervous?” Dan inquired, looking a bit worriedly at Phil, who sighed and stayed silent for what is seemed like minutes, as if he was debating if really tell Dan.

“I was worried you weren’t going to come,” Phil finally let out in a quiet voice, ducking his head down as if he was afraid of voicing his thoughts, “After I mostly ignored you this last few days I was afraid you wouldn’t come…”

“Hey,” Dan took a step closer, posing both hands on Phil’s forearms and rubbing them a bit, “I know you were nervous about the wedding. Yes, I felt that we were a bit distant but it’s okay, I understand.” Dan could sense Phil still needed a bit of reassuring.

“So we are good?” Phil lifted his head so he could look into the deep brown eyes in front of him.

“Of course,” Dan brought him into a hug, which he felt Phil needed by the way he clung to him.

Once they separated Dan was feeling a bit brave so he leaned in a bit so he could whisper into Phil’s ear, “now c'mon, let’s walk around a bit; you need to show how good you look in that suit.” He didn’t care if they weren’t a couple, he couldn’t pass the opportunity to compliment Phil.

The blue eyed’s cheek tinted red, but soon he leaned in also, feeling confident, “You look great too, I love the green tie, it’s my favourite colour as if you already didn’t know.”

Dan playfully pushed him back a bit, both of them laughing a bit before walking towards the gardens that were at the back of the church.

_____________

The whole ceremony was beautiful. Dan and Phil kept glancing at each other, and even though they were a few metres apart they could see the others’ watery eyes when they had heard the newlywed couple say 'I do’.

The just married couple was having its’ first dance in the middle of the hotel ballroom where they had had the banquet a few hours ago. All of the guests were admiring the way they couple moved easily around the room, big smiles in both of their faces. Phil must admit he was a bit jealous of his brother in that moment.

Phil wanted that so bad. The happiness Martyn was showing, sharing it with the person he loved most. But he couldn’t have that, not when that person didn’t love him back. He looked back at Dan, who was sitting next to him and saw the small smile he had on his face, admiring the couple as most of the others were doing. He was probably imagining himself and his future partner dancing this way, and that partner wasn’t Phil, he was sure of it… Just the thought of it made him want to cry.

Phil felt how his eyes were watering, and he didn’t want to cry in front of everyone, even thought he could pass it as an emotional moment he was sure his mother (and probably Dan) would notice that it wasn’t because of the wedding dance.

He suddenly heard the music change and blurry people making their way to the dancefloor, meaning the newlyweds’ dance had ended so he rapidly croaked out an 'excuse me’ and left the room almost running, not wanting anyone to see him cry.

_____________

It all happened in a blur. Dan was just enjoying the dancing couple and was about to ask Phil if he wanted to go outside to skip the dancing since they both didn’t really like it but Phil stood up faster than lightning, excused himself and went out. Dan could swear he heard Phil’s voice crack, as if he was about to cry.

He looked around, and his gaze met with Mrs. Lester, who had a bit of worried expression on her face as she had also seen Phil run out of the room. Dan saw her mouthing a 'go’ while moving her head in the direction of the door his son had escaped from not minutes ago. Dan didn’t even think about it and also darted out after Phil, hoping he hadn’t gone too far.

He looked in the bathroom first, but it was empty. He then tried by the room they had left their coats, but he wasn’t there either. He checked the big garden that surrounded the hotel and was about to turn back when he spoted a human figure sitting in one of the swinging benches that was hanging from the branches of a big tree.

Dan looked at him attentively. Phil had his head down, looking at how his feet just graced the gravel that was under the bench. He saw how the blue eyed sniffled a bit, he had been crying for sure.

He slowly approached him, “hey” he said softly, not wanting to disturb Phil, who just lifted his head and cleaned the few tears that were falling down from his eyes.

“What are you doing here, Dan? Just go back, I just needed a moment, that’s all…” Phil said, looking  to the left as Dan sat next to him by his right side.

“I’m not going anywhere, not when you are crying” Dan was thinking about grabbing his hand, but thought twice about it and decided not to.

Phil turned his head a bit as if he was about to tell some lame excuse about why he was crying, but Dan didn’t let him, “Don’t lie to me and tell me it’s because of the wedding, Phil Lester. I know you and I know something is making you sad.”

The blue eyed sighed deeply. “I was watching them dance and I was just thinking that I want something like that, you know? It made me realize how lonely I am.”

“But you have me.” Dan interrupted him, which made Phil look at him a bit surprised at his outburst, “I mean, we are best friends but we are not in a romantic relationship, we just fuck but…” he started to explain but he didn’t really know what or how to explain.

“But what?” Phil repeated, still looking at Dan, who was gaping like a fish as he was trying to find the best words to explain what he was about to say.

Dan sighed. It was now or never. Even if it ruined his friendship with Phil, it was time to confess his love for him.

“But, we could maybe have one?” Dan cautiously let out, as if he was counting his words. He looked back at Phil, who was just silent. 'I fucked up’ was the only thought repeatedly in Dan’s mind. “Look Phil, I’m sorry forget I said…”

“Do you really want a romantic relationship with me, Dan?” Phil spoke, interrupting Dan mid-sentence.

“Yes, I want that but if you don’t it’s okay I can just…” Dan sighed again, not really knowing what to expect from it.

“What if I also want to be with you? Romantically, I mean.” Phil suddenly said, making Dan look at him as if he was mad.

“You want to be with me? You want to be my…” Dan paused, not really knowing if he should voice the 'word’ or not.

“Boyfriend?” Phil finished it for him, a small smile showing on his face, “Yeah, I want to… and I have been wanting too for a long time now.” Phil confessed, blushing a bit.

“Are you telling me that we both have been wanting to go further in this 'friends with benefits’ thing and we waited till now to say it?” Dan almost screamed at their stupidness. Yeah, he couldn’t describe it any other way.

“Hey, don’t be mad” Phil grabbed Dan’s hand, lacing their fingers together. ‘’You could say we were fools with benefits now’’ making both of them chuckle a bit but Phil turned serious again before continuing. “I was afraid I would lose you forever and I didn’t want that…”

Dan calmed down a bit when he felt his hand in Phil’s. It was different from all those times when he and Phil had laced hands while they had sex… It felt nice. “I was afraid of that too. I was afraid you didn’t want this with me that’s why mostly I continued with the agreement we had. At least that way I could still keep you close to me…” his voice quieted down in the last few words.

Phil brought Dan into a much needed hug, scooting a bit closer, where both instantly relaxed in each others arms. It felt safe. It was safe. After what it seemed like hours they finally separated but Dan let his arms rest around Phil’s shoulders, bringing his face a bit closer too.

“I have been wanting to do something I couldn’t do in our agreement, and I would like to do it now if you let me…” Dan whispered, biting his bottom lip.

Phil curiously looked at him, as if he didn’t remember what Dan was talking about, “What are you talking about? What couldn’t we do?”

“I’m talking about this…” but before Dan could press their lips together in a deep kiss a piercing voice was heard through the garden’s entrance “Philip Lester! Family pictures NOW!”

Both of them separated, jumping away from each other at Phil’s aunt’s voice, who was waiting for Phil to come to her so they could go an take the pictures.

“Sorry Dan I…” Phil apologized, standing up form the bench, not really knowing what to do about his aunt’s interruption.

“Go, I will be around.” Dan softly said, a small smile appearing, “but, find me later so we can take a picture, okay?”

“Okay.” Phil mirrored his smile and started walking backwards towards his aunt, not taking his eyes out of Dan who was just looking at him and mouthing him to go.

“Philip we don’t have all day!” his aunt’s voice called for him again, making him turn around and run towards her.

Dan just had to laugh a the way his aunt was scolding him for being late to the photo session. He could have a drink while he waited for his boyfriend to come back. He giggled on his way to the bar.

Boyfriend, what a nice word.

_____________

The wedding had ended and Phil was driving Dan to his flat. He and Dan had managed to take a few pictures and dance a bit even though their coordination wasn’t the best they had a good time. Phil had been wanting to continue what was about to happen in the garden a few hours ago, but they didn’t seem to be alone and he didn’t really feel comfortable kissing Dan as he wanted to in front of his family. It would have to wait.

“It was fun.” Dan’s soft and tired voice startled him from his concentrated driving, “I’m glad I had the honor of being your plus one.”

“I’m glad you accepted the invitation, I don’t know if I could have handled my family by myself.” they both laughed at Phil’s response and before he could say anything more Phil parked the car in front of Dan’s building, indicating they had arrived.

“We’re here” the blue eyed commented, turning off the ignite and unbuckling his seatbelt, Dan doing the same. “Can I walk you up?”

Dan just nodded and exited the car, waiting for Phil to do the same and walking towards the entrance of the building, patiently waiting for the elevator, a comfortable silence between the two on the way up to Dan’s floor where in a few steps they finally reached the door.

Dan leaned back against his front door, looking at Phil, “Thank you for today… boyfriend.” It felt a bit weird to say it still, even though it had a familiar ring to it.

They both chuckled, still not believing they had had the courage to take a step forward in their relationship. “You are welcome… boyfriend.” Phil responded, moving slowly towards Dan so he was closer to him, their foreheads almost touching.

“Do you think we could finish now what we were about to do in the garden?” Phil shyly asked, looking into Dan’s brown eyes, which were more black than brown.

“Well, no one is stopping you, right?” Dan teased, grabbing Phil’s tie and bringing him a bit closer than he was, their foreheads now touching.

Phil shook his head and closed the few centimetres that were separating their lips, slowly caressing each other, enoying the new sensation that they hadn’t been able to feel in a long time. Soon Phil’s hands made their way to Dan’s waist, bringing him closer as they both deepened the kiss, tongues teasing each other trying to remember the taste since that first time they slept together, a few moans escaping their mouths, not really wanting to stop. Dan moved his free hand to Phil’s hair, trying to bring him even closer.

Once air was needed they reclutantly separated but didn’t let go of each other’s bodies, “why did we establish that stupid rule of not kissing with tongue?” Dan asked in a few breaths.

“I don’t know, I guess we thought it had been enough when it clearly was not.” and with that Phil leaned in again, biting Dan’s bottom lip as if asking for permission to kiss him again, which the brown eyed gladly granted him closing the space between them once more.

“Stay, please.” Dan whispered once they parted their lips again. “We don’t have to do anything if you don’t want to but I wanna sleep next to you. We never stayed to sleep and I want that, I want to know how is it to sleep next to you.” he rushed out, feeling that he needed to get those feelings out of his chest.

Phil looked at him, a soft smile on his face. One of his hands cupped Dan’s cheek, making him lean into the touch, “If you want me to stay I will. I bet you are adorable trying to evade the first rays of sunlight that make its way through your curtains.”

Dan playfully hit him on the chest, creating a small space between them but quickly grabbing Phil by the tie again and kissing him, not deepening it, just brushing their lips together as he fished his keys from the front pocket, trying to skillfully open the door but not succeding.

Phil separated from him, chuckling at what his boyfriend was trying to do, “now, open it.”

Dan quickly turned around and easily unlocked the door, blindly throwing his keys somewhere into he hallway before grabbing Phil by the hand and closing the front door by pushing the blue eyed’s body against it, kissing him passionatelly for who knows how many minutes till they made it into Dan’s bed, where they continued kisssing till early hours into the morning.

You could say they only stopped to confess truthful 'I love you’s that ended up in sweet love making.

_____________

Dan and Phil had been dating for a month already. They went on multiple dates, that weren’t that different from what they did when they had only been friends, but now they got to kiss each other and hold hands wherever and whenever they wanted. And the sex had gotten much better, which was a bonus to be honest.

They had just finished a round of slow morning sex and were just laying in the middle of Dan’s bed, naked and kissing lazily while their bodies were covered by the thin sheet protecting them from the early morning chill.

Dan was about to push his boyfriend into the mattress so he laid underneath him when suddenly Phil stopped moving his lips, separating their bodies a bit.

“What’s wrong?” Dan asked, looking into Phil’s eyes, an alarmed expression appearing on his face.

Phil just stood up, running around the bedroom, picking up the clothes that were scattered around it and starting to dress himself, “I promised Martyn and Cornelia I would pick them up from the airport in about an hour since they are coming back today from their honeymoon!”

Phil just finished putting on his shoes when he took a last look at his boyfriend, who was just looking at him with an amused expression, laying in bed as he leaned back on his elbows with his bare chest marked by multiple hickeys, messy curls on top of his head while bitting his bottom lip as he tried to repress a laugh and the sheet just covering enough not to tempt Phil to go back to bed with him.

“One last kiss before you go?” Dan said in a sweet tone, one that he knew Phil couldn’t resist.

Phil rolled his eyes but smiled, crawling into bed again over the sheets, pushing his body between Dan’s legs as he leaned down to kiss him, his hands resting next to Dan’s waist, trying not to crush him.

Dan smiled against the kiss, lifting his right hand to Phil’s nape, caressing the small baby hairs there and bringing him closer while he bit his boyfriend’s bottom lip, making Phil open up his mouth so their tongues could caress each other, making the kiss more eager than before, earning a few moans from the blue eyed.

The hand on Phil’s nape made its’ way down to Phil’s jeans, unbottoning them slowly, palming his boyfriend’s already hardness, making him groan loudly.

“You know what? They can get a taxi.”

And with that Dan flipped them, making Phil’s back hit the soft mattress as he let his boyfriend undress him again so they could enjoy another round of morning sex.

Going through the dghda meetup tag and liking photos feels a lot like wandering around an event shaking peoples hands. I know we’re too small for a convention (and I’m way too old) but at some point the fandom ought to consider doing a comic con meetup. :)

Aaaayyyy so I found a post where someone shared their top 20 favorites and I decided I wanted to make my own to xD I made this template myself and I have a blank one (tho without text at all, I can input the “Top 20 Favorite Shows” if anyone wants me to). If you wanna do your own with my template, just shoot me an ask or PM!

Hit the read more if you really want to know my opinions on each. I suck at summarizing so it is a bit of a read, sorry about that heh

i always thought it was the other way around, that coco was gonna be a bad representation of the mexican culture and that the book of life shined light on it, what're your thoughts

I think what most Mexican people are worried about when it comes to COCO is the marketing of it all. Which that is undeniable, Disney is this huge company that will market off Día De Los Muertos. That I will never argue about and that will pain me. 20th Century Fox is no where near the empire that is Disney so they couldn’t do that in the way Disney will do, but I’m pretty sure if they could they would have. Yes, The Book of Life is directed and Co-written by a Mexican man, but practically that whole cast was not Mexican. One, Channing Tatum CHANNING TATUM a white man was one of the main roles. Coco has no white people in it. Not one white character or actor. There are a few actors that aren’t Mexican and are from other Latin American countries but most of the cast is prominently Mexican. Compared to The Book of Life where less than half was Mexican and the rest where just latinx actors putting on an accent or using their own. Yes, the director of Coco is white (the co-director Adrian Molina is Mexican and prides himself in his culture), but one thing that I will tip my hat too that Disney does is they research the culture. Take Moana for example that was so amazing, when creating that film the creators did their research and hired actual people of Hawaiian decent to play their characters. The main director of Coco even stated “I knew that we were doing something different…we were going to have this enormous responsibility to do right by this culture and not lapse into stereotype or cliche” (Entertainment Weekly). They also stated that all the music that appears is traditional Mexican songs compared to Book of Life that fucking did ¿Radiohead? and ?Elvis¿ Everyone makes the big deal because the people behind the scenes of The Book of Life were Mexican, but let’s be honest what do the kids and audience see? They see what’s on the actual screen and on their screen is Channing Tatum doing the voice of a character that is wearing Mexican traditional clothing and is apparently a part of Mexico. They see characters singing songs created by white men and even white man that stole black culture (Elvis). I honestly believe COCO will be amazing. I went to D23 and there was a COCO section and there was no “Oh want Skull Candy face paint” nope just the art and videos of the movie. They also did a panel for it and took out folklorico dancers and it was actual rather beautiful because it’s all Mexican people no white people are shown dressing up as our culture. I cannot wait to see COCO because I know it’s gonna show off the Mexican culture beautifully and realistically.
