Reyes was a light sleeper. It was basically a requirement in his line of
work. Far too many people would be happy to see him with a bullet lodged in his
brain for him to enjoy a peaceful and carefree night rest.
That ingrained paranoia was precisely why a mere second after hearing the
terrible clatter he was sitting up in his bed, pistol already in his hand, and
blinking to chase the remnants of sleepiness away as his eyes darted around the
room in search of danger. It was pure instinct, his brain only catching up
slowly to what was going on.
Light was coming from his kitchen. Light, weird dripping sounds and
muffled curses repeated over and over again. Reyes furrowed his eyebrows, but
didn’t let the surprise influence his concentration. Quietly, without making
even the tiniest noise, Reyes slipped from under the covers and sneaked in the
direction of the kitchen. His finger on the trigger, ready to shoot whoever
dared to break into his flat, he barely cared that he was stark naked.
He knew better than to charge into the kitchen guns blazing, so instead
he glued his back to the wall and very slowly and carefully peeked around the corner, trying to see who the
future corpse was.
Whatever Reyes expected that wasn’t it.
Scott, muttering quietly “shit,
shit, shit”, crouched on the floor surrounded by chipped pots, cracked plates
and some burnt, smelly substance that bubbled around the Pathfinder like a
vile, acidic moat. The stove was FUBAR, the wall bore scorched marks from top
to bottom and a ridiculously big stain of the same suspicious substance was
plastered to the ceiling, dripping onto the sad remains of one of the cabinets.
“Scott, what the hell?” said Reyes, entering what looked like a bomb
site. He put the gun on a table that thankfully survived whatever disaster
befell the kitchen.
Memories from yesterday slowly came back to him. Scott visited him for
dinner, they watched a vid, had sex and went to sleep. None of that could
explain this mess.
Wrapping his arms over his chest, Reyes stared at his lover expectantly.
“Um… well…” Scott started, rubbing at his nose awkwardly. In different circumstances Reyes
might have deemed that adorable. The charred landscape kind of took the charm
out of it. “I tried to make you breakfast but something went wrong.”
“Understatement of the century.”
“I’m sorry,” he said looking apologetic like a puppy who accidentally
chewed through your slipper but didn’t really mean to. “You cooked dinner for
me yesterday, so I wanted to make something nice for you in return.”
That confession made Reyes a little less grumpy.
“Next time,” he said, leaning to pat Scott on the head, “just give me a
back massage or something, okay? Nothing that involves you going near any
kitchen appliances unsupervised.”
Scott nodded, still embarrassed.
Reyes offered Scott his hand and helped him up. He supposed he should be
mad – well, madder –
that his boyfriend blew up his kitchen, but the longer he thought about it the
more hilarious the whole situation was becoming. Never a boring day while
dating the Pathfinder.
“Scott, you’re a beautiful disaster,” he said, corners of his lips
twitching as he barely stopped himself from bursting into laughter. “And I love
you for that.”
Scott sighed with relief and hugged him.
Standing among the ruins and holding the boy he cared about in his arms,
Reyes thought that the scene was a good metaphor for his life. And he didn’t
mind. Walls could be repainted, stove fixed, but love couldn’t be replaced.
Heyy! So we like started reading romeo and juliet in class and are now watching the 1968 version of the play. And holy shit Benvolio is so freakin adorable and I can't. I just can't he's so cute. <3333
Hello! Oh my god, Benvolio is the softest cinnamon roll to ever exist! He is so pure and adorable I just need to wrap him up in a blanket and take care of him for the rest of my life. I’m forever grateful to Franco Zeffirelli for his portrayal of Benvolio’s character—he looks so innocent and shy and kind and his smile denotes such gentleness! He even ignored Mercutio in act 2, scene 4 because he was too busy reading a book?? Oh my god. Just let me adopt him.
Also, he and Mercutio look so in love in the 1968 version, don’t they?
His reaction to Mercutio’s death e n d s me
In this scene everyone is looking at the Prince EXCEPT FOR BENVOLIO WHO IS LOOKING DOWN AT MERCUTIO’S BODY
AND THEN THERE’S THIS REALLY SWEET MOMENT BETWEEN BENVOLIO AND THE NURSE AT THE END OF THE MOVIE
But he looks so sad! Look at his face, it’s like he is emotionless after having lost all of his friends
IT BREAKS MY HEART. But I find it very significant that he is the only young man left alive. He’d be the perfect ruler of the Montague household—he’s not as oversensitive as Romeo nor as aggressive as, say, Tybalt. I’m sure he is the one destined to rule the household peacefully and rationally.
The Odd Man Affair episode rewatch + trashy commentary
Illya: “When Raymond was getting on the plane, I took the precaution of removing his wallet.” Napoleon: “In other words, you picked his pocket, hmm?” Illya: “If you prefer such a bourgeois description of an act of pure presence of mind.”
Napoleon smiles fondly at this, as if Illya picking the pockets of top international assassins is the most precious thing in the world (it really is).
Illya: “Why did you put a pin in his cuff?” Napoleon: “All the better to find him with, my dear.”
Sadly for Napoleon, Sully not only removes the tracking pin but also gets our boys detained at Customs.
Illya: “It’s like playing the game of ‘pin the tail to the donkey’.” Napoleon: “Donkeys.”
All these close-ups of Illya and Napoleon smiling adorably at each other are killing me.
Illya: “I thought your idea of the homing pin to be such a good idea that I placed a second pin in the band of his hat, along with a microphone disc, so that we can not only find our friend Mr. Sully, but we can also listen to him.”
Napoleon: “Mm, you are a sly Russian. Some day, when you grow up, you should make someone a marvelous secret agent.”
Illya: “Very funny.”
Godddd, all this flirting. ALSO THE WAY NAPOLEON LOOKS AT ILLYA IN THIS SCENE, I CAN’T WITH THESE TWO.
Napoleon and Illya track down Sully, who’s met up with an ex-girlfriend to beg her to tell him about Raymond, because he actually doesn’t know a thing about the guy. While everyone’s arguing about what to do next, Illya abruptly loses interest, wanders off and starts drinking at the bar.
Argh, Illya, you are so adorable, I love you sfm.
Our boys kill one of Zed’s thugs (who was trying to kill Sully) and dispose of the body by dragging it to a park bench while pretending to be drunk and singing at the top of their lungs. Lol.
More of the International Assassin group comes after them, and poor Napoleon gets shot in the shoulder. Noo! Illya wants to get Napoleon medical attention, but Napoleon tells him to go
to the strip club with Sully and Bryn.
Illya sadly obeys.
The bit at the club where Illya stops a female friend of the real Raymond from ratting them out by pretending she’s his cheating wife is hilarious. “Have you no regard for our children?!”
Bryn then jumps into the fray and kicks some serious ass – this woman is amazing, U.N.C.L.E. should recruit her.
Did I mention that Illya is wearing his adorable glasses throughout this scene, because that is a Very Important Fact.
Through a wonderfully-executed combination of skill and sheer dumb luck, Bryn and Illya take out the guards at Zed’s house, and Zed accidentally kills himself with the explosives meant for Sully.
Illya goes to take care of his poor wounded Napoleon (note Napoleon clinging to Illya with his good arm in the screen cap below) and thus we conclude one of my favorite episodes of S1 :)
A/N: I hope you don’t mind but I chose to do it from Bofur’s POV just to mix things up a bit, hope you still like it! (I like to imagine he’s telling this story to his grandkids)
Boy was that a battle and a half! My limbs were trembling from sheer exhaustion both mental and physical. My clothes seemed to be completely covered in dirt, blood and sweat which didn’t make for a pretty sight. I reached my hand up shakily for my hat to fan myself off but when it only came into contact with the air I realised I’d dropped my hat not five minutes into the fight whilst trying to defend myself against a particulary gruesome orc, i mean all orcs are gruesome but this one just took the biscuit.
can you tell us how you feel about miranda barlow/hamilton please?
[enthusiastically] I MOST CERTAINLY CAN!!! :’’) I adore miranda barlow with my whole entire heart. (…………alright, okay, I’m aware I’ve probably said that about like five characters by now, which makes that impossible. I know how fractions work >:( kind of.)
*clears throat* I LOVE MIRANDA BARLOW WITH A SIZABLE PORTION OF MY HEART!!! :’’’)
if I let myself speak freely with no structure at all I’m going to go on and on and on forever. (honestly, one could write thousands upon thousands of words just about miranda in the flashbacks.) so I’m going to do what I did for flint and do this in bullet point format, so that there is an ILLUSION OF BREVITY at least >:)
When the theme first came out, I was super excited. I expected greatness. Magical girl transformations, super epic fight scenes, a couple of fun characters who probably (like most super powered teens) don’t quite fit in. And instead, I got this.
A goofy, energetic, hyperactive and sometimes careless princess from another dimension.
She’s constantly on the go to the point where it’s almost annoying. Almost.
See, the thing about Star Butterfly is that she’s the kind of character who is so hyper and wacky that one pretty much expects her to be nothing but comic relief. With sensible and reliable Marco by her side, it would have been SO EASY to write her off as a gag character. She could have been doing weird things only for Marco to sigh and groan and complain. I’m sure we’ve all seen pairs like that on tv.
Not that it isn’t funny, but there’s a certain sting felt when the gag character is reduced to being nothing but an annoying joke especially when one shares many traits with them.
I act a lot like Star. I jump and bounce and tend to be reckless. My ADHD makes it hard to stay focused, so I can easily empathize when Star is feeling restless.
I know that feel. As well as the impulsiveness and high levels of energy. Pretty much everything Star does is something I can relate to. They’re traits that I share. Traits that i’m used to seeing be demonized and played only for cheap laughs. So imagine my surprise when Star Butterfly, in all her quirky fun, is respected.
Her fellow students adore her. Her family loves her. The Diez family loves her. Not despite her traits but because of them. All these traits that people have mocked me and many others for are traits that are seen as valuable and likable. Yes, they might get a little fed up with them from time to time but it’s never seen as a constant problem. Instead of blaming Star for her behavior they try to understand and compromise. She’s treated with love and respect, which means the world to me. Honestly, I never thought I would see a character like this be treated with so much respect. And gosh darn am I happy she is.
tl;dr: Star shares many traits that I, as someone with ADHD, can identify with. (TBH a lot of her behavior just screams ADHD. It’s just a headcanon. OR IS IT!?) I used to be mocked because of these traits and ashamed of them. I see them mocked on tv. Star, however, is treated with respect and is seen as likable because of them. After being ashamed of my behavior for so many years, it’s absolutely wonderful to see someone like Star. Shine on, princess.
ok so i just rewatched the scene where ed is sad and listening to vivaldi. i looked up the lyrics to the song and they translate to: "I am a scorned wife, faithful, yet insulted. Heavens, what did I do? And yet he is my heart, my husband, my love, my hope. I love him, but he is unfaithful, I hope, but he is cruel, will he let me die? O God, valor is missing - valor and constancy." i honestly can't tell if this is supposed to be from isabella's, ed's, or os's perspective. what do you think?
That’s so interesting! I’m inclined to believe that the writers just played some random Vivaldi, and didn’t give much thought to the lyrics, but (for the sake of meta!) let’s say that they chose that song specifically.
My first thought is that the lyrics are pertaining to Oswald. “Faithful, yet insulted” could be a reference to how Oswald ‘loved’ Ed first, but then Isabella came in and stole Ed away. Oswald did everything for Ed, after Ed got out of Arkham, but all Isabella did was look like Kristen, and Ed ‘fell in love’ with her.
Basically, all the lyrics seem to be about how Oswald loves Ed, but Ed loves another. “He is my heart, my husband, my love, my hope” is similar to the sort of dramatic, soulmate language that Oswald himself used – he’s called Ed his soulmate, his one true love, and claimed again and again that he’s in love with Ed.
Looking at it another way, however, it could be from Ed’s perspective too. In Ed’s eyes, he was ‘faithful, yet insulted’. His only crime was falling in love with Isabella – who he truly thought was his second chance at a ‘normal’ life. And then Oswald, whom he’d helped win the election, whom he considered to be his best friend, utterly betrayed him.
The lyrics ‘I love him, but he is unfaithful, I hope, but he is cruel’ could easily reference Ed’s opinion of Oswald. Ed believed that Oswald is incapable of true, selfless love. If we assume that Ed’s loved Oswald ever since 2.09 (or certainly admired him) then of course, Ed would claim ‘I love him… but he is cruel’.
Also, ‘valor is missing - valor and constancy’ could also work here, for Ed’s P.O.V., because he himself is missing valor and constancy. He didn’t have the courage to tell Oswald how he felt, and then Isabella came along, and now it’s too late. And, in Ed’s mind, Oswald didn’t have valor and constancy either. If Oswald had just told Ed how he felt, and not killed Isabella, then he wouldn’t have ended up hating Oswald.
As for it being from Isabella’s point of view, I’m honestly not sure about that one. Isabella was a blank slate (though I believe there was something more to her, because I can’t accept that she was just a plot device!) so it’s difficult to say.
It could be from Isabella’s P.O.V. about Ed – how she loves Ed, but Ed clearly loves Oswald. “I love him, but he is unfaithful”. If we assume that Isabella is astute enough to see Ed’s adoration of Oswald (and she might be, given that she spotted Oswald’s love for Ed) then it could be from her perspective as well.
If I had to choose whose P.O.V. it was from, I’d probably go with it being Oswald’s. That just makes the most sense to me, and the dramatic irony of Ed mourning Isabella, listening to a song from Oswald’s point of view, is great!
This was such an interesting question, anon! I really think that it could be read a lot of different ways. Thank you so much for asking my opinion. I hope I cleared some things up for you!
ok at since u seem to want to talk laven i'mma ask u about somethin u said earlier, about laven having the strongest canon foundation out of the ot4 ships? just talk about why u think that, if u want ;v;
I feel like you are going to regret asking because you just called for a really long rant about canon events
the thing about swanfire is while i obviously beyond a shadow of a doubt ship them harder than fedex and adore their romantic connection, while i wanted kisses and (more) babies and hand holding and those little i’m so fucking in love glance, that’s never been all of their dynamic to me– that’s never been entirely what they were about or why i’m so invested in the connection between the two of them.
we throw around kindred spirits a lot, but that’s exactly what they are–two people on the same page from the second they met. two people whose paths not only converged because fate and destiny needed them to make a baby with the heart of the truest believer to lead emma home, but whose pasts, whose wants and needs and desires ultimately meshed. they’re interlocking pieces of the same puzzle in ways you can't just describe with romance or friendship or understanding, even though it’s all of those things.
the flashback in There’s No Place Like Home absolutely floored me because it was this perfect summation of everything those two are– and everything I don’t think could ever be replicated for either of them. emma’s got her walls up because what’s the point in letting someone in if nobody’s asking you to. and this neal is so heartbreakingly close to that little boy left alone in neverland– the look on his face when he turns on the carousel lights, how eager he is to show her: that’s the little boy who’s been let down by every parental figure he’s ever had, the kid no one else wanted to play with, the lost boy occupying himself for centuries in a cave.
emma spent her whole life looking for someone to let in and neal spent his looking for someone to let him in. neal’s been left with this aching for home, and emma’s aching to know what that’s even like. emma’s trying to figure him out in that scene; neal’s giving her all his story that he can because he needs someone to ask. emma needed hope because she’d never had it, neal needed hope because he’d lost it. they’re not just on the same page. they’re filling in each other’s blanks.
those looks they give each other at the end of that scene– that’s the moment they started to fall in love, i think. that’s the moment neal decided he’d show her what home was like, that’s the moment emma hoped she’d someday know. but what absolutely makes me ache about it, is those looks– those are looks of two people who’d never thought they’d find a person like them realizing they have.
it’s not just that they loved each other, it’s that they fit on such a fundamental level that’s not about kissing faces and holding hands– that’s why i love them so much, because those genuine, raw connections are so fucking rare and beautiful and you can actually fucking feel it between them.
I have a huge problem and I would love some advice you see, my problem is that I can draw.... But only when I'm looking at other peoples drawings so I'm pretty much copying other people's work (of course I never flaunt it around claiming it as mine) but it gets me irritated that I can't draw my own work and when I try it looks bad. I hear a lot of people go through this but how do they grow out of it this problem has been going on for a long time to the point where I think I should stop drawing
Morning dear anon❤ Sorry for the late reply as it took me sometime to think the question through and organise my thoughts.
I thought to share some of my personal experience with you, as I went through something quite similar myself. Though it may not be what you are fully experiencing at the moment but I do hope it could be helpful to you somehow.
The answer is quite long so I have tuck it in under the cut.
So this is weird coming from someone who doesn't even WATCH TO, but here are the facts. Tumblr is a feminist community in general. I have seen them defend female characters that are considered hated and unpopular, and I've seen them justify actions. But when it comes to Haley? All I see is hate. I keep thinking to myself, ''it can't be just about Klaroline. If no one can stand her, this character must really SUCK.)
Caution. If you are remotely a Hayley fan you might want to skip this.
It is not about Klaroline no. I am not going to tell you that there are not Klaroline fans that despised her due to the ship because there is a certain number that indeed came to hate Hayley because of the ship. But if you check the whole fanbase and the critics and the reviews and opinions in general you will see that this character is rejected by the majority of the fans no matter what their ships or favorite characters are.
Putting ships and shipping aside. You have a character that was introduced in a bad way to the audience. A character that long before it interacted with any member of any ship in a more intimate manner created a negative aura in general. A character with no certain traits or personality (just some snarky one liner so it will gain the teen approval of being “cool”). A character that changed personalities like it suffered from a multiple personality disorder. A character that was not introduced as a villain but acted as one and then tried to sugarcoat that behavior (which in my eyes it is a vile thing to do gender aside and this is coming from someone that A. adores good villains and B. Likes strong women figures… but Hayley belongs to none of the above.) which then turned her into what? A despicable character. I adored Katherine in TVD. I really liked Elena in season 1. I very much liked Caroline. I really really liked Rebekah. I was good with Bonnie. I enjoyed the role of Anna’s mother and Anna’s agenda. I was a Jenna fan. I was an Esther fan too. I praised Bonnie’s grandmother! I really enjoyed Lexi’s character. It is not a matter of turning against a certain gender. I also liked Klaus the best so it is not a matter of not liking villains either.
It is a matter of bad writing and awful characterization combined with the most terrible acting I have ever encountered in a show (and I have seen a looot of shows). And keep in mind that people despised Hayley ever since 4x09 and even before that (I was disgusted with her by then) and if she was never to have returned after that Christmas episode no one would even remember her again or mention her again because aside from the negative impression she left behind she made absolutely no impact whatsoever to the audience.
Then in 4x16 she comes back and we see an OOC Klaus and I am not referring for the sex scene. Klaus according to his character would have killed anyone else in Hayley’s place from second one or first tortured them and then killed them for their part in the Hybrid fiasco but the writers decided to force OOC reactions in order to turn the plots and the characters in the ooc way it would suit their purposes for the mess of a show they were creating which HAD to have Hayley as the lead.
And then the backdoor pilots airs and suddenly that rejected by everyone character (funny thing how the audience does come with intelligence sometimes…it cannot be avoided) gets a complete character makeover. The homeless drifter that is basically a misunderstood orphan and has no place to even stay and sleep drives expensive cars and wears expensive clothes. She makes no sense but that doesn’t matter. She will become an Original because this is how it has to be. Why? No reason. How? By ooc and plot holes. By destroying logic and characters and plots and potential.
She then turns into the trope of tropes. She becomes the mother. She becomes the one that cannot be touched. Her past is erased. Her actions and sins absolved. She is the special snowflake now. She as a woman has only one worth and one alone. Her womb. Period. She literally is a walking talking broodmare. She is the there to promote a man’s redemption via a fetus that exists inside her so she is special. She is there to sooth a man’s pain. To show him the way of light with her uterus. She is to become a mother, a saint, a love interest, a femme fatale, the sex symbol, the innocence incarnated, a princess, a royalty. She has rights from birth. Everything she was is excused. Everything she is and says and does is the law. She is there to rise and be placed into a pedestal. The perpetual victim, the damsel in distress and yet still the badass queen. She is not asked if she wants the baby, she is there as an incubator that has to be protected by them all and in the mean time through that ordeal her special character- that will endure all the tests and difficulties a messiah has to endure- will shine. She is not a human being she is above that. She is not a strong or a weak or a powerful or a meek person…she is the golden combination of everything… she is an idol. She is a trope. Her thoughts are not of importance. Her history will be rewritten. Her character traits are going to change until people will have to come to terms with one reality. She is the hero even if she has to be the antihero or the renegate sometimes. She is the tragic figure. The perfect mother that will suffer for her child. The lover that will suffer for her love. The love object everyone craves. The perfect mirror for as to see the perfect reflection of what the ideal woman is (always in a man’s world). She is the only one. She will be immortalized. She is the center of attention. She will be saved because her existence is the ultimate savior of everything because she can redeem every story, every plot, every character just by existing and just because of her body parts and her value as an example for us all. Everything concerning her will be sugarcoated. Everything will be romanticized. All that are facts that the audience has to accept. They will force you to like her. If you don’t it doesn’t matter you will still have to like her.
Now all that don’t seem to me like the light of feminism tbh lol. In fact they do come out as the exact opposite and in my personal opinion quite offensive and keep in mind that EVERYTHING was obvious from the backdoor pilot. It is no wonder that a site fueled by a majority of people that root for feminism is rejecting this character. It is because that character is the exact opposite from what this certain community stands for. Hayley is a prominent example of a misogynistic writing and of the way many tv female tropes are working their way into teenage girl minds and creating false images of what women are, or how they should be and act, of how relationships work, of what means to be a person and to be defied by your sex or your procreation abilities, of how to interact into society and how to exist into a man’s world. A dangerous message. And unfortunately the head writer of that show and character is a woman.
In conclusion. Yes that character really sucks. (Maybe I should have just wrote that from the beginning and be done with it lol)
I've recently become obsessed with Black Butler and I can't help but ship Ciel and Sebastian, the sexual attraction between the two is so obvious. But I feel wrong for doing it because Ciel is a child. HeLp! How do you justify this ship??
First let me welcome you to the fandom ^.^ You also need to Know that Sebaciel is a very unique ship as the story of the whole animation turns around these 2 , and how their relationship has ^progressed over the years. For me i like how Sebastian who from only wanting Ciel’s soul and seeing him as just a prey has fallen for him .i mean he cares alot about him more than a demon butler should , claude is a demon butler too but does he give a shit about Alois’ safety ? i guess you could make the difference between Ciel and Sebastian’s tight bond and the shallow relationship between claude and Alois.Another thing if choose to ship Sebaciel , you need to learn how to ignore haters who will make you feel bad about yourself and accuse you of pedophilia. On my blog i chose not to respond to any of their hate asks cuz i wanna share positivity and love .Now i know why you see this ship as troublesome , And it’s .First Sebastian is a demon , secon the size and age difference , but that’s what it makes it special ;) Ok how to justify this ship
1) you need know that you owe NO ONE a justification , if you wanna ship two characters together :
2) the ship is canon , as it’s supported by the mangaka herself Toboso sensei, and the voice actors too
Ciel was naked , and Moaning Sebastian’s name i bet even an anti-sebacieler thought it was actually a yaoi scene .For me i think it’s more than Sebastian helping Ciel to wear a corset something sounds fishy , if you know what i mean ;)
and so many more scenes in both the manga and anime which shows the sexual tension and even romantic moments between the two like this one for example
I adore how Sebastian’s features softens when he looks at Ciel proudly i mean just look :’)
not to mention the teasing and flirting ;)
oops did i mention that they almost kissed :o
you can also check the lyrics of the openings , endings, sebastian songs all refer to his romatic relation wit Ciel here is a link to one of the songs i love the most with sebastian singing (voice actor daisuke ono) and english sub :)
Well, at least I can now pretend that my fantasy series finale for Almost Human would totally have come true if it had not been canceled.
In my head (and heart), I am 100% convinced that in the great final double-episode of season 5, Valerie & Richard would have been married to each other. Because in the run of season 2, they would have realized that their bickering is, in fact, disguised flirting. Because it totally is, right?! In season 2 finale episode, it’s their ‘First Kiss’ scene. For the run of season 3 = frequent dating. With the obligatory scene in which they run into a group of smug and arrogant Chromes at some fancy restaurant, who make insulting snide remarks about Valerie not only being the first Chrome to become a cop, but also being the first Chrome to date a gnome - but hey that rhymes, how romantic, hahahaha! Valerie will totally stick up for Richard, telling the group off in her calm but sassy manner. Richard smirks. IT IS LOVE, FOLKS. So, in season 4 = moving in with each other. Wedding in season 5 finale.
John will be Richard’s best man, because they gradually become friends in the course of seasons two, three and four (then be buddies in season five.) Not necessarily BFF’s, but Richard doesn’t do the whole ‘tight-knit friendship’ thing with anybody in general, so whatever he has with John at that point is the closest to a true friend he’s got.
Rudy will organize the most ridiculous and entertaining bachelor party with LOTS of Martinis. John and Dorian help, of course. Richard is all like “What?! I don’t want a bachelor party. Been there, done that. I’m not even a true bachelor, I’m a divorcé, remember?” But they just drag him along and the boys end up having a great time. Even though the most awkward situations ensue, thanks to Rudy who probably hired a whole armada of stripper-bots and something went wrong when he placed the online order because he was so excited about everything and messed up. By the end of the night, Dorian gets everyone home and tucks them in (say Hi to the everyone’s smartbeds along the way) because he’s the only one who’s sober and still standing upright.
In the meantime, Val and Sandra go out for a girls night at the clubs for Valerie’s bachelorette party and they have a blast.
The wedding will be happy and beautiful. EVERYONE looks fabulous.
Val will be a stunning bride. Richard will be a nervous and adorable groom, biggest smile on his face and all dimples. His mom will be there, crying happy tears. Sandra Maldonado - rocking extra awesome nail polish - will be there, together with her BF (that cute lawyer guy from Blood Brothers.) Rudy - wearing a new Fedora of course - will be there, together with his BF (that cute review board guy with glasses from Straw Man.) After the exchange of vows and rings, MX’s (dressed in whitish gear) will form a guard of honor, with Val’s and Richard’s respective MX partners - 700 & 176 - at the head of the line.
At the wedding party, John will make a lame joke during his short but heartfelt speech and say that he’s relieved the wedding kiss worked out, because he (as the groom’s responsible best man) totally forgot to bring the ladder for Richard to reach Valerie in those killer high heels. Richard will grin about John’s joke and they will hug and pat each other’s back and John will raise his glass to Richard & Valerie and wish them all the best. Dorian will give the most touching and sensitive speech of all guests. Everyone is sooo moved, including Dorian himself, because “I was made to feel, man!”
He also gives a wrapped wedding gift with an enormous bow to the happy couple. John, next to him: “Wooow. I wonder what it is!” Dorian, smiling: “It’s a juice blender! It’s got brandnew features and won’t even be on the market for the next few months!” Richard, mumbling: “Perfect. That’s even more pathetic than I thought…” Valerie, caressing the back of Richard’s head, whispers lovingly: “Darling, I know this won’t be easy for you, but don’t be a prick.”
It’s late when the newly-weds get ready to leave for the airport (honeymoon in Mexico, anyone?) Before their departure, Val throws the bridal bouquet. It lands on a table, exactly in front of/between John & Dorian who sit there. Dorian looks at John and smiles. John rolls his eyes. Then he looks at Dorian and smiles, too. THE END.
jfc, I've finally reached the point where I'm looking forward to no Castle-related news coming out. What was NF supposed to say? Where did he go wrong? Is he supposed to have a canned answer on hand for a favourite scene? Throw in a "S9 would have sucked!" at every opportunity? Name each and every cast member when acknowledging them in a three-minute video? Either he hated everything to do with Castle, or he wanted to hold onto it at the expense of the story, y'all can't have it both ways.
It just comes down to one basic point: there are people in this fandom who are gonna hate Nathan no matter what he says. If he had immediately had something in mind for a favorite scene/memory, people would complain because it didn’t mesh with what they thought it should be. If he had taken the time to name every single member of the cast, someone would complain because he wasn’t sincere enough. If he had said that he wasn’t sure that season nine would have been a good idea, that same group would accuse him of being a liar and just trying to get on the fans good side.
And you know what? Screw em. If all you can do with your life is sit around and drum up ways to hate a guy for living his life and wanting to keep his job, you have a problem. I doubt that Nathan Fillion has done anything to personally hurt any of them, and it’s hilarious to me that people who claim to love Castle as a television show as much as they do can’t realize in the constant haterade that they put out there that, if not for Nathan, there would be no show. You don’t have to like it, and you don’t have to like him, but I think you do have to respect that this guy wanted to sign up to become Richard Castle and, for eight years, he led the charge in making the show what it is and, one way or another, keeping it on the air.
You wanna know why he talks about Firefly and has very specific go to memories of the show? There are 13 episodes and a two hour movie. That’s about a year of his life, and a very limited pool of talking points. I’ve watched a pretty significant number of his panels over the years, and indeed he’s talked about the same dozen or so memories over and over. I can’t think of a time when people have asked him about Castle where he’s given the same answer twice. But, you know, he’s got eight years worth of stuff to draw from and, like it or not, the show’s structure is very basic: there is a murder, there is a b-plot, they solve the murder by the end of an episode. Lather, rinse, repeat.
People want him to snap his fingers and be able to tell you exactly what he loved about this particular episode, or that particular episode and that’s some bullshit. These actors haven’t watched these episode over and over and over like we have; they’ve seen them once, if at all. They don’t have time or the inclination to dwell on their work, usually because they’re already onto the next script and the next episode and there just isn’t enough room in a brain to keep track of eight years of work.
People like to claim that means he doesn’t care, which is also some bullshit. You know what Nathan Fillion cares about? The people on the set with him. For every story he tells, it comes with some behind the scenes anecdote. He remembers interactions with people more than he remembers what line he has to recite that day, and what that particular storyline was in that one episode in season three. And you know what? Good for him. It means that he doesn’t dwell on his work, that he puts more stock in interacting with the people that he saw for sixty hours a week for nine months a year, eight years in a row. Remembering the time he walked onto the loft set and saw a crew member playing a piano concerto when he thought no one was around is far more important and far more meaningful than being able to tell you what line he said in the opening scene of the season five premiere or what the most significant moment was for him between Castle and Beckett.
You know who else might have trouble coming up with a favorite memory from the set? The fandom saint, Stana Katic. Eight years and 171 episodes (we aren’t counting XX and Cool Boys since she wasn’t onscreen) is a lot of material, and indeed I can remember back when she did interviews that if someone asked her a favorite memory she gave rather generic answers, but no one raked her over the coals for those. Instead it was fangirl feels and flailing about how much she understands the character and appreciates the storyline and the fans, etc, etc, etc. Likewise, Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas have been very honest in interviews that they have trouble recalling specific storylines or scenes, and usually if they talk about something, it’s because they remember something that happened between scenes or that messed up a take and they had to start over.
But here’s the other thing, the show is over. I have no idea what people think they’re going to accomplish with continuing to yammer on about making Nathan the bad guy. Hate him or not, he’s gonna work again in the industry and there’s absolutely nothing that a fan is gonna say or do to change that so I legitimately don’t understand the point of it all, nor do I understand attacking people who don’t necessarily have a problem with him. It’s not going to change anything, and really it only serves to give the fans who follow and adore Stana a bad reputation, which is unfortunate because not all of them are crazy and take every opportunity to hate on Nathan.
Plus, another important point, is that you really can like the both of them at the same time. Contrary to the belief of others, you can be fans of them both. I’m not really sure when it became a thing in this fandom that you had to choose one or the other, but that’s complete nonsense and, honestly, it says far more about the fan that it ever could about the actor.
Like, I had to sit down, look @ a list of episodes and really think about what I wanted to include for my top 5 OTP moments~! And with that being said, I decided to leave out OT3 moments and only focus on interaction that happens between Benson and Mordecai exclusively~! Oh yeah, and I also decided to leave out stuff that borders on Head Canon territory and conjectures (e.g. how Mordecai knew Benson had a clock in his room during “Saving Time” *lmao)
So, now that that’s out of the way- let’s get down to business~! Starting with #5 and counting down to #1~! ♥♥♥
5) The Temple Scene from “Sandwich of Death”
Like, even though this might be considered an OT3 moment, throughout the entire temple scene Mordecai takes on quite a protective role when it comes to Benson~! Case in point:
Maybe it’s b/c he knows that Rigby isn’t strong or tall enough to be a proper bodyguard for Benson, but still- they spent most of this episode practically glued to each other and as a Mordeson fangirl, I can’t help but admit that I was more than a little pleased *lmao
I’m glad that things ended well and Benson got better by the end of the episode, but still- so much OTP interaction and physical contact~! Ah! So awesome~! *lmao ♥♥♥
[The rest is under a Read-more to spare everyone’s dash]
[Also- like the last top 5 post I made- this one is pretty gif and image heavy so be warned]
Did you have any favourite moments from the trailer? Mine was when we first see Stephen do magic, love the surprised look on his face. Also how awesome was the last shot with the shields!!? I really liked the tone of the trailer, less arrogant genius, more reluctant saviour. Can't wait for this movie!
“More reluctant saviour”… THIS is why i am over the moon about the trailer! it’s spectacular and so so true to who Doctor Strange is…it introduced the sorcerer supreme but even then through Benedict’s acting and the incredible cast; you clearly got what a burden it is to him. in every way…
My favourite moments? hmmm. so many. (this is a really rushed reply sorry as i’m in transit but anyway)
I loved how Stephen Strange’s loft was made a much more clear mirror to the Sanctum Sanctorum; but in the surgeon’s loft it’s a shrine to himself. and the view is only of NYC. a tiny, insignificant, selfish viewpoint.
and i loved The Ancient One’s amazing costumes; the one in the Himalayas looks incredible…
and then to Kamar-Taj; the fact that it has become a training ground for devotees from all around the world is such a great idea.
and the magic… THE MAGIC. it was amazing; a homage to Lee/Ditko with some awesome updates… The mandalas;
and the whip of fire. it’s just pure deadliness and as @iwasthesouthernpansy points out it almost seems sticky; he has to wring it out of him. love those details so so much…
and wong. WONG. i already could watch an entire film of him alone. i adore benedict wong and to have him as a drill sargent at kamar-taj, plus a kick-ass sorcerer, plus the curator of the archives and artefacts. and he is so imposing. yep. super super happy about wong.
and we can just talk about that freakingly cool slide Doctor Strange does in NYC past the portal? we are going to see BC do some seriously incredible action moves.
and the two final iconic scenes. all the way through i was going “please have stephen be funny please please please” and then the wifi scene. perfection. this is going to get marvel fans in, as much as the action and magic and the angst…
but to me; knowing doctor strange; this is the moment where i thought yes. this is a film which is finally THE homage to this amazing character. this; the physical strength and the anguish and the sacrifice and the power. and the actor to play it.
so yeah; i am pretty excited. as are other people it seems; the trailer already has over 9.5M views…
