i applauded

i really applaud namjoon for leading the boys in the interview. not just as a translation and interpretation major but a multilingual there’s just a lot of pressure when you’re the only person capable of linking two groups of people who don’t share a mutual language. namjoon did very well despite that he’s not a native speaker or didn’t live overseas nor that he ever studied trans/interpretation. he had to think of his own answers to the interview questions and also had to translate for both the interviewer and the members. once again he proved that he’s extremely intelligent and i’m just so proud of him.

i applaud camila bc everybody knows how hard it is to see an ex w some1 else. may it be PR, art or w/e, i can imagine its still hard for her to see dat photoshoot. the love of her life is w some1 else, who isnt her bc they cant be seen together. ouch. i feel for C since she's keeping strong & she's handling everything well. she's focusing on love only & no hate even if thats the normal human reaction to seeing even ur crush w some1 else. go mila! i hope she happy now & in the future.

Agreed. I think she does well staying out of the media drama though. And her family is her sanity so they’ve kept her motivtes and focused and Ashlee as well. She’s a good friend.💪💋

As much as I love Kavaxas as a villain, I can’t get past the fact

I applaud TMNT 2012 for stepping up the darker tones and actually showing dead bodies and everything, and acknowledging they’re dead (with the ghosts in Ep. 4). And no hate towards Kavaxas—he’s now one of my favorite villains (he’s actually threatening and really kills people). Just a bit surprised, that’s all.

…The younger kiddies watching at home will be traumatized! Lol :D

Blindspot was Fantastic! Evil Did I Dwell...Lewd Did I Live

Okay, you guys!!!

Let me get this out of the way:

I stand by my prediction of who dies.

Ashley Johnson gave the performance of her career, and Alex Berger immortalized her Patterson, facing Borden and standing by her ethics and principles.

“"I took an oath to my country to the bureau to uphold the law…” “you betrayed me. You destroyed me, you don’t get out of this.” #Blindspot

THATS HOW YOU WRITE A GASLIGHT STORYLINE! You do not make the villain a romantic hero after traumatizing the heroine, compromising her ethics and trust! Otherwise you’re a cliche writer, in love with the bad boy. No.

Difference between Blacklist writers and Blindspot?

The writing of female characters. They’re not victims, they’re heroes.

Liz’ character, had she killed Om Keen in Season 1, the writers wouldn’t be so far away from their original story. Samar is reduced to plot, not allowed to behave or lash out how she feels… and even female villains get to be romantic leads. Yeah no.

Patterson’s speech immortalizes her as a strong heroine forever changed by Borden. She’s no victim. She’s hardened, and that makes her a much more edgier character. She’s root-worthy because she did follow through with her oath to her country and to her career as an agent. She’s not black n white, she’s a lively shade of gray. Berger’ dialogue in this episode brought character driven story to a higher level. The Blindspot ensemble is a family, get ready for the team to expand, but become a well oiled machine.

Tasha: “we need to talk about Reed.” Again, in character, not wishy washy. Painful but goes to her boss to save her friend-because they are a “family.”

That’s the tagline that will come to fruition at end of season.

Nas: foreshadowing. That wasn’t Cade who tried to kill her so…..But Cade gave her the warning regarding Phase 2: “when it goes down, so will you.”

Nas is going down. Bank it. Still, STRONG HEROINES NOT DAMSELS IN DISTRESS.

Jane: oh my goodness. Lots of story was spilled but if you Jellers weren’t excited at Jane inside the baby’s nursery (like I said waaaaaaaaaaybback in the fall) then I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU.

“Will you go back and forth…?”

“We haven’t figured that out yet.”

I did! Didn’t I? Look up my posts. Allie…. where’s she moving?

Where’s Lake Aurora?

Weller/Jane/Baby…. so cuuuuuuuuuuute.

(Don’t say to me you did not love that because I don’t believe you. 😂😂😂😂)

Bad ass Jane.

“"We are not on the same side.”

Nope take that to the bank! See all those foreshadowing black and white flashbacks of mean Remi?

“This doesn’t belong to you.”

“This doesn’t belong to me.”

“I like you…a lot”

Yeah Oliver does….you guys have NO IDEA but you will.

“I came to STOP JANE DOE!”

Yes Cade… he don’t like you Jane. Well you’re kind of a mean bitchy person.

Now I asked this in the last episode so I’ll say it again

It’s not Oscar. It’s not Cade.

Jane flying through the laundry chute and then kicking Cade’s ass….

Who’s fighting…. and why is Jane having all these flashbacks all the sudden? Jane’s getting closer to the truth….

“Jane Doe has Amnesia.”

But not much longer….

That scene with the team at Weller’s Patterson confronting Reade, Tasha snooping to get the scoop on Oliver…Jane snooping to find out what are Kurt’s baby plans… Jane lovingly gazes at the crib…“

Shepherd is coming back count on it she needs Weller for her master plan.

Well we will be in a do or die situation during phase 2. It will change everything for everyone.

I love my wonder twins. Roman in his plastic bedroom I can deal… I think he needs to be kept in there like an X Men superhero. "Mr McGee don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like it if I’m angry…”

“He’s below us! It’s just Shepherd, me and you.”

Says evil Remi

“You can’t keep him locked up forever.”

Says Cade.

Are we excited?

Jane went to see Oliver and accepted his text!

“This doesn’t belong to me.”

Man Oliver all happy making out with Jane then Pow!

Kidnapped. Who on earth would do such a thing?🤔🤔🤔🤔😂

“If anything ever happened to ya I’d miss you.”

Kurt is gonna go insane.

Let me get this out of the way: DAMMIT I LIKE OLIVER

and you’ll see why next week and three episodes later. We got five weeks left people! Contact NBC and tell them how much you love the show but wish it were in a different SLOT this *is* what Blindspot creators are fighting for and to loosen WB grip on creative rights…

NBC is listening. Unfortunately it’s in competition with Blacklist so you *will* see comparisons in the writing.

The differences are how Blindspot writers stick with their arc, whereas Blacklist writers have not. I think Gero assumes they won’t again so he’s going full steam ahead with his pairing, a humongous plot twist, a shocking death… and an amazing terrorist attack.

Get ready.

So watch, call and let’s hope for the best because this is a great show. Just don’t jiggle the single cam so much…

Same for Lauren, especially when the BT MV came out? It must have been difficult for her to watch 1st time 2 see her pretty close with sum1 like MGK (knowing his history with Sexism) to promote the song? They spend more time, time that C&L cudn't have.

Just Hamilton Things

Recently, I’ve been reading Ron Chernow’s ‘Alexander Hamilton’ biography, and there’s a few things in there I find note-worthy. (If you’re as obsessed with Hamilton as I am, I do recommend reading this book. It is, after all, the foundation on which Lin-Manuel Miranda built ‘Hamilton’ and it gets into a lot of depth about Ham’s life. The excessive amount of research done for this book amazes me. I applaud you Ron Chernow.)

  • One time during the war, civilians in Broadway tore down a large statue of King George then melted it down and made 42,088 bullets, a fact which I find, for some reason, utterly savage
  • It’s no wonder people thought Hamilton and Laurens were gay, the letters they wrote to each other, primarily, the letters Hamilton wrote to Laurens… ah, I’ll just leave the examples down below

Hamilton to Laurens: “Cold in my professions, warm in my friendships, I wish, my dear Laurens, it might be in my power by action rather than words to convince you that I love you.”

Not enough for you? But wait, the letter goes on to say later:

You should have not taken advantage of my sensibility to steal into my affections without my consent.”

Another one from Hamilton to Laurens: “I have written you five or six letters since you left Philadelphia and I should have written you more had you made a proper return,”

Looks like Ham is being clingy. He even admits to it:

“But, like a jealous lover, when I thought you slighted my caresses, my affection was alarmed and my vanity piqued.”

After his engagement to Eliza, he writes to Laurens again saying:

“In spite of Schuyler’s (Eliza’s) black eyes, I have still a part for the public and another for you.”

  • Hamilton made dick jokes. He wrote to Laurens about finding a wife making bawdy references to ‘the size of his nose’.… his dick, guys. He was talking about his dick.
  • Before their famous duel in 1804, Burr was so broke, he asked even Hamilton for help. (Note, they already hated each other at the time.)  Burr came to Hamilton early in the morning and you can imagine the awkwardness of the situation. Like, “Hey bro,  did I wake you? Yeah, sorry about that. Hey, I know we hate each other and stuff, but could you like, help me out here, since you’re so good with money and shizzz?”
The best part was, Hamilton did help, and managed to raise 10,000 dollars in cash for Burr…… and still Burr shot him. Savage.
  • Hamilton impressed Adams’ cabinet and there was a conversation that went a little something like this
Adams: Whom shall we appoint Commander-In-Chief?
    Pickering: Hamilton
Adams: lol no, pick someone else
Pickering: But sirrrr, Hamilton is fully qualified-
    Adams: NOT HAMILTON.
  • While the Reynolds affair was going on and Eliza was away, Hamilton wrote letters urging her to stay far, far away from home as he was “greatly concerned for her health”. Yeahhhh. Riiiiight. You two-faced little LIAR.
  • To make the above worse, Eliza, despite the affair, did remain wholly devoted to Hamilton. In fact, when she was old, she is supposed to have said, “I am so tired, it is long, I want to see Hamilton.”
  • Okay, last fact to wrap things up. After Burr shot Hamilton in the duel, he showed no remorse for it, he took the entire event with a touch of humor. Burr is supposed to have made facetious references to, “my friend Hamilton, whom I shot.” What a savage.

thanks to @hedaclarks for the beautiful text

Day Eighty-Eight

-Two men in their forties came through in complete hunting regalia save for one’s bright pink boots to purchase two Hot Wheels cars. Specifically, they bought the Roller Toaster, a toaster on wheels. I applaud their taste in toys and fashion.

-I would like to apologize for whatever I am doing to give the impression that, when I reach out to offer change, I am offering my hand to hold. Several elderly women have acted upon these unintentional signals and none of us have been happy about it.

-Someone stamped a Decepticon logo onto a series of twenty-dollar bills. This is the beginning.

-A hanger was labeled “NB.” I am thrilled that the store had begun to carry clothes outside of the gender binary, although I wished that they would make them for adults and not just newborns.

-I handled several articles of clothing for infants and toddlers with taglines such as. “First Crush,” and, “Cutest Bachelor.” I am grateful that we as a culture begin forcing romance on our youth at such an early stage, lest they become queer, or worse, uninterested in relationships altogether.

-Nothing makes me happier than older guests shopping with their friends and insisting upon paying for each other’s purchases. Nothing makes me more stressed out than when the bickering escalates and I am forced to choose sides and accept one’s payment at the fury of the other.

-In the middle of paying, a woman pointed at Starbucks, loudly said, “Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh,” and then returned to her business without any acknowledgement to assure me that it had actually happened and was not a heat-induced hallucination.

-A woman approached me, informing me that I looked important and therefore must be a manager. The joke is on her, as I am but a lowly cashier, but appearances are half of the battle and this proves that my master plan is on the right path.

-I asked a man how he was. He looked me in the eye and replied, “I am but a man.” That will not be changing anytime soon if he keeps up this attitude.

We were fighting a pack of wolves in a clearing and our bounty hunter, Flux, was just bitten on the arm, which then prompted him to flip off the wolf.

Flux: Flux moves closer to both wolves and casts sword burst. A circle of spectral blades appear sweep around him ((Each wolf makes a Dex save

DM: wolf 1 got 8, wolf 3 got 18

Delain(ooc): wolf 3 flips you off, now realizing it was meant to offend, mid jump

Bariz(ooc): Wolf 3 makes a skateboard appear out of the air and does a sick kickflip while flipping you off

DM: wolf 3 tries to do a middle finger, and finds its toes not flexible enough. wolf 3 is disappointed at that

Bariz(ooc): Wolf 3 does its best attempt at flipping you off and we all applaud and let it know it was a good try

Bariz: I applaud wolf 3 for its attempt at flipping off Flux

Delain(ooc): do we get inspired from wolf 3’s performance?

DM: the wolves get inspired

Me(ooc): damn it

The Awful Flower Analogy on Jane the Virgin

I am so glad that they addressed the flower analogy in this episode and just how damaging it can be.

You know I really applauded this show for exploring virginity with Jane. For so many years the sexual revolution has been defined by a woman’s right to have sex and not be judged for it. And I found it so interesting that for once a show explored a woman’s right to NOT have sex and not be judged for that. The fact that Jane was allowed to make the decision to wait for marriage and stick with it, is something that I don’t think I’ve ever seen on contemporary TV. They explored how hard it was for her to stick with that decision but also how accepting every around her was of that decision. Over the series I don’t think anyone told her she was wrong for it or that it was ridiculous to stick with it. Even the men she dated were remarkably okay with her decision. Even if they floundered at first, they all respected that choice. That was great to see on television.

That being said I’m so happy they addressed the damaging flower analogy.

When Jane was 12 years old her grandma tells her to crumple up a flower and then try to make it perfect and new again. When she can’t Alba tells her that’s what it’s like when you lose your virginity and you can’t go back.

That’s horrible. It’s an awful message and certainly not one that you should drill into the head of a preteen.

And even though Jane consciously knows better, and even though she waited until marriage like her grandma told her to, after she has sex with her husband she feels like that crumpled up flower. She feel like she’s lost something, or that she’s less special because she’s no longer a virgin. And that’s not only sad, but untrue. And having those thoughts in her head affected her ability to enjoy sex with her husband.

I am so happy that Xo came to her and explained that no longer being a virgin doesn’t mean that she’s lost something. It means that she’s gained something. By having sex with Michael she’s opening herself to explore and discover a new side of herself and also a new side of her relationship with Michael. I think what Xo said was pretty much Mother goals in terms of the sex talk.

I think degrassi did such a good job at developing Maya’s character. I know people were upset that Maya didn’t seem to show/care about Cam’s suicide but she was affected much more than everyone else. It gave her extreme anxiety. Eventually, combined with the bus crash, it gave her severe depression that led her to do what she did. It cut so much deeper and was so much more realistic; instead of showing how a major event/disease impacted someone for like 2 episodes, which is usually what degrassi does, they showed how one single event impacted Maya for years. I think this is one of the most powerful things degrassi has done, and I really applaud Olivia for playing it so well.
