‘May I have this dance?’

Maleficent leaned against a tree and watched Regina.

Behind her, the party continued. It was a celebration of…well, of everything. A celebration of surviving, of beating the odds, of finding friends, and holding on to family. It was spontaneous and loud and bright and very, very happy.

She had seen Regina slip away from the crowd, out from under the marquee that had been hurriedly pitched in the middle of the park. She’d waited, watching for her to return; but when the minutes ticked by with no sign of Regina, Maleficent had excused herself from a confusing conversation with an inebriated Snow White, and followed Regina out into the night.

She found her in a little clearing among the trees, not so far away from the marquee that the music and laughter could not still be heard. The noise of the party was muted here though, making the sounds gentler, less grating on the ear.

Maleficent leaned against a tree and watched.

Regina was dancing.

She was barefoot in the grass under the moonlight, her eyes closed as she swayed in time with the soft sound of music; her hair brushed against her face as she twirled a slow circle, the hem of her skirt gently rose and fell. Her arm curled around her stomach, holding herself; she smiled wistfully, the corners of her mouth downturned. And, without thought, Maleficent was moving.

She kicked off her own high heels as she strode forward, silent, intent, a hunter stalking prey. Maleficent was almost on Regina before she noticed her; her eyes flickered open, widening in surprise when she saw Maleficent standing there, her inky-black dress covered in hundreds of silver beads, glittering enough to rival the stars.

Regina stiffened, steeling herself for the sardonic teasing that was the usual way of things between them.

But Maleficent simply held out her hand and said levelly, “May I have this dance?”

Regina tilted her chin up and examined Maleficent’s face, seeking out any sign of even well-intentioned mockery. She found none. She placed her hand in Mal’s open palm.

Maleficent’s fingers closed firmly over Regina’s and she pulled her into a twirl, her other hand  coming up to Regina’s waist, guiding her through the movement. Regina was laughing when she came to a halt, facing Maleficent.

They started off in a very formal and proper position, standing slightly apart. Maleficent’s right hand curved lightly around Regina’s waist, her fingers against the small of her back; she clasped Regina’s right hand against her chest, covering her heart. They started to move, following the rhythm of the haunting melody that wafted from the marquee. Regina’s inexperience made her hesitant, but Maleficent’s hand was steady at her back, leading her through the movements as she smiled down at her. Even barefoot, the dragon still had the advantage of height, and she was smooth and sure as she danced them around the clearing.

The grass was cool beneath their feet, the moonlight bright around them, and with every twirl and sweeping turn that ended with her back in the circle of Maleficent’s arms, Regina grew more confident. She slid her free hand along Maleficent’s shoulder until she could curl it around the back of her neck, and she shimmied closer so that their bodies brushed against each other as they danced, at thigh, and hip, and breast.

Maleficent’s eyes darkened, and Regina rested her head against the dragon’s chest with a sigh of contentment.

Regina felt Maleficent’s arm move up along her back, felt her tighten her grip, then she was being turned, but still held close against Maleficent’s body. She had to shift her feet and bend her knee to keep her balance, and suddenly she was looking up at Maleficent as her grinning partner lowered her into a dip. Regina clutched at Maleficent’s shoulder, laughter bubbling up. This felt like flying, but she was not afraid that Mal would drop her - the dragon’s hold was strong, her body firmly rooted to the ground.

Mal raised her back to an upright position. They stood unmoving for long moments, neither one speaking, simply looking searchingly at each other. Then Regina sighed, went up on tiptoe, and kissed Maleficent. She felt Mal’s mouth stretch into a broad smile that broke their kiss, but then she sobered and returned Regina’s kiss with passion.

In the marquee, the music changed, becoming fast and spirited with a pounding beat. The revellers whooped and shouted, and the wooden dance floor thrummed under their leaping feet.

But outside, under the moonlight, barefoot in the grass, Maleficent and Regina swayed softly together, moving to a sound that played for them alone.

(Thank you to the great Sergei Polunin, who will always be the perfect dancer!Stiles to me. You can find one of his video here. Enjoy :p)

There was a black and white picture at his nana’s house, small and slightly crooked, lost in an old frame. Stiles was only a kid when his grandmother took it off the piano to show to him for the first time.
The girl inside the picture was tiny, thin, with dark hair severely pulled back in a tight bun. Her face was turned to the side, her arms held high over her head in a graceful arch. She was wearing a tutu but the other details of her silhouette were blurred into yellow hues by the years.

Fascinated, Stiles sat near his nana and listened to stories of her youth in Russia. Of cold winters and women with warm blood and laughter. Of the peaceful studio with its dark wood and unending mirrors, and of the beautiful girls and boys that worked there every day to turn their bodies into art.
His nana kept getting more pictures out of old books, clips of newspapers in an unknown language or beautifully lit shots of dancers on stage. In the photographs, she was only a young girl, frail and beautiful and flying with the grace of a bird.

That’s how it all started.

In his nana’s living room, with her standing tall and proud on her old, damaged feet. At seventy years, she still looked tiny and weak, but she spun him around the room without effort, her feet quick and light. Her white hair floated and her smile was the most beautiful thing Stiles had ever seen.
On the sofa, his dad was clumsily trying to hum some classic melody, all eagerness and no rhythm. His mom laughed at them all and clapped, her enthusiasm and happiness intoxicating the room.

At five years old, Stiles bought his first ballet shoes. They were tiny, shiny and pink, and they didn’t make a sound when he walked shyly into Ms Muller’s dance studio. The wood in the room was bright and glossy, and light spilled all over the floor from gigantic windows. They were only seven other kids in the room, and all of them were girls.

Stiles didn’t care.

Ms Muller’s hands were strict and demanding, never treating them like the children they were, but her voice was warm and full of compliments. The weeks passed, and while Stiles started to tame his body into the foundations of grace, his brain stopped trying so hard to pull him in every direction at once.

In the studio, in the middle of the terse French words, the glittering music and the soft sounds of slippers on wood, Stiles discovered for the first time what peace felt like.

At seven, he swirled on the playground, arms held high in the air like his nana’s pictures. A kid pushed him hard into the mud with a sneer before calling his other friends to laugh at him.
From there on, Stiles decided to keep his love for ballet and his school life separate.

Scott was the only point of intersection. From the first moment they met, Scott was sincerely interested. He came to many of Stiles’ practices, sitting quietly in a corner of the studio and looking at them with big, brilliant eyes. Ms Muller often tried to convince him to join but Scott always refused, blushing and babbling excuses about his asthma.
The girls still got him to dance with them sometimes, dragging him along to join them in silly warming exercises. Scott once received Ms Muller’s congratulations on his fourth position and Scott had beamed at midair for three days straight.

Then, Stiles’ mom left them after months of terror and tears.
And Stiles danced.

He danced in the studio, in the dirt of the forest, between the suffocating walls of his room.
He danced for hours, pushing, bending his body.
He twirled fast enough to keep the world spinning, jumped high enough to keep breathing, learned to bow low enough to keep from breaking.
At night, his feet bled, his knees screamed in constant pain and his body turned into one big hurt.

But his mind was blank and he was able to sleep.

He didn’t dare ask for more.

Breaking The Atmosphere

“What do you mean, you’re taking Theodosia Burr?” Alex asked with a chill.

“Pops, I find her to be quite charming. I would like to take her.” Charming? If she’s anything like her father than that’s a fat load of crap. You tried to convince yourself of that, it didn’t work. Alex was about to say something, he looked very against this whole thing. But Eliza nudged him with her elbow and cleared her throat.

“Of course you can take Theodosia, my son.” She smiled.

“Thank you, mom.” For a second, Philip looked over at you. Every once in a while you’d think you’d see it. Your Sunshine, not this dark cloud trying to hide him. Something sparked in his eyes for that single second. Was it regret? Was it longing? Was it remembrance? Was it an apology? You couldn’t tell, he built a wall between you.

‘In this same interlude it doth befall

That I, one Snout by name, present a wall.

And such a wall, as I would have you think,

That had in it a crannied hole, or chink,

Through which the lovers, Pyramus and Thisbe,

Did whisper often very secretly.

This loam, this roughcast, and this stone doth show

That I am that same wall. The truth is so.

And this the cranny is, right and sinister,

Through which the fearful lovers are to whisper.’

That should’ve been a passage he marked. As quick as the second had come, it was gone once again. Philip tightened his lips and walked away, the same way he always did.

“You’re going to let our son take my rival’s daughter to a party? Are you crazy, Betsy?” Alex asked. Eliza shook her head.

“Trust me, love. A mother knows what she’s doing.” She assured, winking at you after she finished her sentence. What’s that supposed to mean?

A few days passed and you were left to your same routine. You were dusting off the shelves in Alex’s study when you heard someone come in. You looked over to see Lafayette leaning against one of the cleaned shelves.

“Oh, hey Laf. Did you need something?” You asked. He tapped his finger against his chin and took a step forward.

“Yes actually, I do have a small favor to ask of you Miss Y/N.”

“You can just call me Y/N or Titania like Alex does, but sure, what’s the favor?”

“I was invited to a party by a friend of mine. I would like to ask you to allow me the pleasure of escorting you there.” WHAT?!

“Um, wait what? A party? Oh no, no, no, no! I’ve never been to one before! Besides, why would you need me to go?” You asked nervously.

“Well you see, I am not exactly the best dancer and every time I try to go to a gathering by myself a madam will ask me to dance. I just cannot find it in my heart to say no to them, it seems rude but I always accidentally step on their feet…” His face flushed a bit. Fucking Marie Antoinette, this is all your fault! “If I take you with me, I believe I will be asked to dance far less.” Honestly, I should’ve expected that this was the reason. Lafayette was known for being extremely awkward in many situations.

“I mean; alright I guess? As long as I don’t have to talk to many people because honestly I do not know the proper etiquette for these things…” Lafayette smiled at your answer.

“Merci, we can both not know the proper etiquette together, how does that sound?” He asked humorously, you chuckled.

“Sounds like a plan!” You laughed.

You told Eliza about what Lafayette suggested and she seemed very pleased that you said yes. She even said she would help you get ready, of course Angie decided she would as well. When the day came, Eliza summoned you to her room and she pulled out this very elegant blue dress.

“What’s this?” You asked.

“Well, as much as I love the dress Hercules gave you, it simply is not ball appropriate. So, you shall wear this.” She informed. Angie, who was sitting on the bed called out excitedly.

“That’s the dress Mama says she fell in love with Daddy in!” You looked at the beautiful blue color.

“Eliza…this is too much, you’re so sweet to me!” She brushed off the comment.

“Nonsense! I would do anything for my girls and you are certainly no exception! Now, come over here! We are wasting precious time!” You went over and she immediately started to work on you.

“Mama, how did you and Daddy fall in love exactly?” Angie asked curiously. Ohhh, I’ve never heard this story before! Eliza giggled to herself.

“That is actually quite the fascinating tale. You see, many people in our family believe that Alexander and I were in love at first sight…”

“Wait, are you saying you weren’t?” You questioned, she nodded.

“I had met Alexander once at my Father’s estate. He brought a message from Mr. Washington and stayed over for dinner. At the time, I had no intentions of courting with him.”

“Really? Why?” Angie seemed confused.

“Well… I was in love with someone else at the time. He was a red coat named Andre.” She explained. WAIT! A! MOMENT!

“You were in love with someone on the opposite side?” You were astounded. Eliza nodded with an amused smile. Am I the Andre to Philip’s Eliza? Was I just a phase?

“Madly in love, in fact. When I saw Alexander that night at a winter’s ball, everything changed. Love is a very complicated feeling, that’s what I realized in that moment. You can’t control it, you can’t change it and that’s scary.” Yeah…I know the feeling… “At first, I didn’t think Alexander was interested in me. Although my sister was already married at the time, I assumed he fancied her more. But here we are, many years later. Alexander has taught me many things, but mostly he’s shown me that love is not easy. You will doubt each other, hurt each other and not even intend to, or even worse… You do it to protect them.” Eliza finished putting the dress on you and quickly worked with your hair. She took two pieces from the front and braided them to the back, making sure your hair stayed out of your face. Was my sparkle not enough? Did someone give him more than I could offer? “You look beautiful dear!” Eliza teared up, Angie got off the bed, an idea burning in her pupils.

“Wait! Don’t go anywhere! I have an amazing idea!” She ran out of the room and you were left to wonder for a moment. After a few minutes she came running back in with something in her arms. You froze when you realized what it was. Five bushels of baby’s breath… She stepped behind you and laced the stems into your braid. “The best accessory a lady can wear is fresh flowers.” She stated. You felt odd about using the flower. You looked at yourself in the mirror. You were pretty but felt, out of place. Monachopsis, that’s the word that came to mind in that moment. You didn’t feel like you belonged there anymore, you tried not to think about it too much.  Once you were all dressed and ready, Eliza led you out to the main room.

“Alexander has already called the coach. He should be waiting outside with Lafayette.” You took a step out the door and let your eyes adjust to the bright light. Alex was talking with Lafayette outside the carriage and once they noticed you and the other woman with you they smiled. You went down the steps and Alex took your hand, turning your wrist and signaling for you to spin.

“Oh, I wonder where that dress came from!” He hinted while you span in place, his banter made you feel a bit better about everything. Alex gave your hand to Lafayette so you turned your attention to him. He smiled at you pleasantly.

“Miss Titania, Alexander instructed me to call you that, you look quite elegant, if I must say.” You fanned your face jocularly.

“Monsieur, you flatter me so!” You said with fake bashfulness.  He opened the carriage door and helped you into it, when he got in he sat across from you. You waved everyone goodbye and joked that you would be back before tomorrow. The carriage pulled forward and you watched as it drove out of the yard. Just as the house was starting to fade out of sight, you saw another carriage pull in. Another carriage? The house was too far away at that point for you to investigate any further. You were starting to get a bit nervous and your leg began to bounce from under your dress. You stared out the window until you felt something tap your arm. You jumped slightly and turned your gaze toward Lafayette.

“Miss Titania, you seem a bit flustered. May I ask what is wrong?”

“Oh, um, yes. I’m just a bit anxious is all. I’ve uh, never been to anything like this before.” You chuckled and scratched your cheek.

“Do not fear! As a gentleman, it is my job to ensure that you have as nice of a time as possible. After all, those who can’t dance shall not dance together! Or…something of that effect.” Wow…he’s just as awkward as me. What a precious lil baguette!

It wasn’t long before the carriage pulled in front of a large house. It was mostly brick and was almost the model image of Victorian styling. The carriage stopped in front of the estate and Lafayette stepped out first to help you down. The two of you made your way up the grand stone steps, the door was opened for you. You thought you were going to be early but there were already tons of people inside the large, open room. It wouldn’t have bothered you so much if not a good majority of the people looked over at you. Lafayette had his arm linked with yours and pulled it slightly to get your attention as he led you through the room.

“I think they like you.” He whispered.

“Who’s party is this anyway?” You questioned.

“The Price’s, I was quite close with the father of the house, the rest of the family was more than happy to allow me to attend.” You nodded to show that you understood. You felt several eyes gaze at you from time to time, you weren’t sure how to feel about it. Lafayette was nice enough to make sure you never felt too uncomfortable. At one point he was leading you across the room by stopped halfway. “I will be right back; I must greet the lady of the house. Would you mind waiting for just a moment?” He asked.

“Go ahead, I’ll be here.” He continued to walk across the room. A young man approached you not long after. Well, not quite young, he still seemed quite a bit older than you.

“Hello Miss, what is a fair lady, such as yourself, doing here all by your lonesome?” He certainly knew that you were not alone. Can’t a girl be by herself for ten seconds and not be bothered?! “May I get you a drink?” He asked.

“No thank you, I don’t drink.” I don’t trust the alcohol in this century! He tried to insist but you declined, that didn’t stop him from trying to ask again but he was stopped by a voice interrupting him. You felt someone standing behind you.

“Excuse me sir, thank you for keeping my friend company for me. Now if you don’t mind…” The man quickly walked away from the masculine voice behind you. Why does that sound so familiar? You sighed.

“Thank you, I wasn’t sure how I wa-“ You turned around and froze.

“Hello Titania, it’s been quite a while hasn’t it?” A bright color filled your eyesight.

“Mr. Jefferson…”

“Yeah, I got it, …you’re talented and I’m pretty… lets leave it like this..”

He would always ask you to practice the newest choreography with him, first because it’s way more fun to practice with the person he loves and second of all because he loves the way your body moves.

“Ahhh Jagiya… if you continue dancing so perfectly, you’re going to be a better dancer than I am.!”

Summary: Steve and Bucky get a few days off to go home during the war and decide to go to a baseball game where they meet (Y/N).

A/N: I’ve had this one saved in my drafts for more than a month, I’ve held off posting it because I thought today would be the perfect day to post since it is Opening Day. I am still sad that I couldn’t get tickets for the Rangers today. Also if you haven’t seen A League of Their Own then I suggest you do because it is my 2nd favorite baseball movie. My #1 is The Sandlot.

“Bucky where are you taking me,” Steve asked his best friend confused. “You said we were going to a baseball game, but this isn’t Ebbets Stadium.”

“Don’t worry,” Bucky smiled. “I promised you a baseball game, and you are getting a baseball game.”

Steve, still unsure of what was happening, followed Bucky to buy their tickets.

“Alright ladies lets get out there and play some baseball,” one of my team members yelled out. Cheers filled the small locker room as we all prepared for the game.

“(Y/N),” Jean, one of my teammates called. “How’s the bruise?”

“Which one,” I laugh. The last game had been brutal. While at bat I had taken a fastball to my calf and later when I was catching the runner on third tackled me down. I got the out of course, but not without a bruise that covered my entire left outer thigh.

“Are you going to be good for today,” she asked.

“I’ve never let a small bruise like that stop me before,” I smirk securing my gear on. “Plus we need this win if we are going to move on to the World Series.”

“We have that win in the bag,” Nina said from the other side of the room. “The damage you can do when you’re at bat is enough to guarantee us our spot at the World Series.”

“The only thing we have to worry about now is where we will go out to celebrate after the game,” Jean laughed.

“I’ll leave that up to you all,” I smile at their confidence. “The only thing on my mind for the next few hours is baseball.”

“Isn’t it wonderful,” Bucky smiled.

“An all women’s baseball league,” Steve asked.

The two watched as the women out in the field warmed up.

“While we’ve been out dodging bullets from Nazis and Hydra, everyone here has been enjoying this all summer,” Bucky laughed.

The stadium was full by the time the game started. I stood behind home plate and gave one final stretch before setting up to catch.

We were all set for the throw down as Jean pitched the ball one last time. As soon as the ball was in my glove my other hand was ready to lunge it to second plate where Nina was ready to catch.
The batter from the other team took her spot in the box and readied herself for Jean’s pitch.

“So what do you think,” Bucky asked Steve. The game was tied in its ninth inning and the entire stadium was cheering on both teams.

“It looks even more brutal than when its men out there,” Steve said in aw. Just a few innings ago he had seen one of the players sliding into third and taking out the baseman by digging in her cleat to the side of her leg, a quick taped on gauze later and third base was still in the game. Then latter he watched the catcher get tackled down twice by runners, and held on securely to the ball both times.

“Some one should have thought of this years ago,” Bucky laughed before jumping up to his feet and cheering on the new batter.

We had two outs and no one on base. All we needed was one more run to take the lead before and close the game by not letting the other team score anything.

I took a few swings out of the box before stepping in and wait for the pitch.

The first ball came in to high. Ball one.

The next one was to far in. I had to jump back to miss the ball from hitting me on my side. Ball two.

The next pitch came in and I began to swing, but stopped when the ball was two high up.

“Strike,” the umpire behind home called out.

“That was not a strike. I didn’t swing,” I turn around to argue. “That ball was way above the box.”

“I know what I saw,” the umpire shouted. “That was a strike.”

I wanted to argue more but from the corner of my eyes I saw our manager waving at me to let it go. If I kept talking I could get kicked out, and my girls needed me right now. I could let them down.

I took a deep breath and got ready for the next pitch.

I couldn’t have asked for a better pitch right down the center and at just the right speed. The satisfying clang of the bat making contact with the ball echoed through the stadium. The ball sored past infield and over the outer field before disappearing behind the fence on center field.

The crowd erupted in cheers as I made my way around the bases at a slow jog. When I get to home some of the girls from out team had gathered around the base as I walked though it.

“It’s still not over,” I tell them as they congratulate me. “We still have three more outs left.”

“Details, details,” Jean. “We can do this in our sleep.”

“Well then lets go get our win,” I laugh as we make our way back to the dugout. As soon as I am in I am handed my catching gear and I am back out on the field as soon as it is on.

As I walk to home plate I raise my hand to pull down my mask but stop when I see a very eager man in uniform cheering and clapping at me a few rows behind home plate. His blond friend next to him, also in uniform, laughs at how exited his friend is and grabs his arm to pull him down to his seat.

With a smile on my lips I pull down my mask and set up to warm up Jean before her last few pitches.

Two outs and two strikes later and the crowd is on their toes waiting for the next pitch. Jean takes a deep breath to relax before sending a fastball right at me. The ball doesn’t make it to my glove. The batter hit the ball and dropped her bat to run to first as I reach up and yank of my mask to find the popup right above me. The ball begins to make its decent back down to earth and I rush to get under it. As I run under the ball my foot gets caught and I trip forward. I reach out just in time for the ball to land in my glove.

The stadium is silent before they erupt in cheers.

I push myself off the ground and dust off my skirt before looking up at the cheering crowd. The two men in uniform I had seen earlier where on their feet cheering along with the rest of the crowd.  The brunette one saw me look at them and winked at me. I felt a small blush creep on my cheeks before I was tackled from behind.

“We did it,” Nina yelled. “(Y/N) we did it. We are going to the world series.”

Before I could stop them I was picked up and carried by the girls as they continued to cheer around me.

I was laughing and cheeping with then when I caught sight of the two soldiers again. This time I made eye contact with the blonde on and before looking away from him I winked and smiled at him as the girls carried me to the dugout.

“Bucky come on I don’t think we are aloud back here,” Steve told Bucky as they walked though the halls of the stadium.

“Nothing is going to happen,” Bucky tells Steve. “Besides, you’re Captain America. No one can say no to you.”

Steve sighed and followed his friend until they stopped outside the locker room.

Bucky lifted one hand and knocked on the door twice.

I was the last one in the locker room. All the girls had rushed to get dressed so they could go out. They had decided to go to a new cub down the road to celebrate. I had told them I would go, but I would be there later. There were a few things I needed to ice first before I was in any condition to dance.

“I told you I will be down there later,” I called out when I heard a knock on the door.

There was no response before another knock was heard.

“Nina I promised I would go,” I called out standing up. “You don’t need to drag me there.”

I pulled the door open and froze when I saw the two soldiers from earlier.

“You’re not Nina,” I said pointing my bag of ice at them.

“No,” the brunette laughed. “I’m Bucky, and this is Steve,” he said pointing to his blonde friend.

“We wanted to congratulate the team on winning today,” Steve smiled.

“Sorry, but they’re all gone,” I tell them. “They went out to celebrate.”

“You’re not celebrating,” Bucky asked.

“I will,” I smile. “I’m meeting them later.”

“Oh okay,” Bucky said a little less enthusiastic. “If you could pass on our congratulations when you see them later.”

“Why don’t you come,” I blurted out. “There are never enough dance partners nowadays, and this way you can tell the girls congratulations yourselves.”

Steve looked like he was about to decline the invitation before Bucky spoke up. “We would love to go,” he smiled.

“Great,” I grin. “We will be down at Jitters, I’ll see you there.”

“(Y/N) over here,” Nina calls out to me as soon as I step into the club.

The dance floor was packed. The girls were scattered everywhere dancing and talking to men or resting before the next song.

“I told you I would come,” I smirk at them.

“You’re not the only one that came,” she smirked. “You got a couple of handsome soldiers over there who came in a few minutes ago asking for you. They said you invited them. I hope you plan on sharing.”

I turn around to see Steve and Bucky sitting at the bar talking.

“If you excuse me ladies I am going to go get myself a dance partner,” I smile before leaving them to go to where Steve and Bucky were.

“If it isn’t the star of tonight’s game,” Bucky smiled when he saw me approach them.

“I’m glad you two could make it,” I smile at both of them. “Now which of you two will be my first dance partner of tonight?”

“That’s easy,” Bucky says standing up taking my hand and spinning me once. “Steve isn’t much of a dancer.”

A few songs later and I am out of breath from dancing. Bucky was easily one of the best dancers I have ever known, and he wasn’t even tired yet.

“Just give me a sec,” I tell Bucky taking a seat next to Steve. “I played a nine inning game today remember, I need a to catch my breath.

“Alright doll, but you’re going to dance with me the remainder of the night,” Bucky smiled taking a seat next to me so I was between the two soldiers.

“Steve why don’t you dance,” I ask him.

“I don’t know how,” he shrugs.

“Your lying,” I say shocked.

“No,” Bucky laughed. “He’s not.”

The band announced they were going to play their last song of the night and it wasn’t until now that we realized we had spent the last few hours just talking.

“Last chance Steve,” I tell him. “It’s a slow song, it’ll be easy.”

“I promise you I’m fine,” Steve tells me. “Dance with Bucky.”

I turn to Bucky who shrugs before taking my hand and leading me to the dance floor.

I stood outside the now closed dance club with Steve and Bucky.

“Are you two going to be here for the World Series,” I ask them.

“I’m afraid not,” Steve says. “We head back to the front lines in two days.”

“Well then hopefully next time we meet you have won the war and I the World Series,” I smile.

“Are you going to show off your trophy when we get back,” Bucky asks.

“Only if Steve shows me the shield,” I smirk. It had taken me most of the night, but I finally realized that the man in front of me was no other than Captain America himself.

When I get back to the house the girls are going to go wild when I tell them.

“Deal,” Steve smiles holding out his hand for me to shake.

I take it, but pull on it to bring him down for a hug. I pull away and smile at him before reaching for Bucky to hug him too.

“I’ll see you two after the war then,” I smile.

“I am,” you hiccuped. “The best dancer e-ever!” You grinned from ear-to-ear as you sloppily stood up with a glass in your hand then began swinging your hips side to side.

Your friends thought otherwise as they bursted out laughing at your actions and voiced disapproving regards.

“Shut up,” you spat back with hooded eyes as you shook your head and stumbled back into your seat.

It was the second Saturday night of the month. A night you saved just for your girls to reunite from across cities and do whatever you all wanted. That night, you all decided to go bar hopping and you were finding yourself nearing the end of the hop at the fourth bar.

Your glass of gin and tonic was switched with ice cold water without your knowledge. Who was responsible? Hyungwon the bartender. (You and your girls accidentally ended up at a bar your acquaintance was tending at that night, not that your drunken self could clearly recognize him.) Along with making sure the group of girls were on their way to sobriety, he made sure to call cabs to wait on site and your friend to take you on the hour long drive back home, Shownu.
