MHA dub commentary episode 8:

  • i have been putting this episode off for way too long and that’s probably because it’s about Bakugou’s emotional breakdown and i am emotional even before the video starts
  • baby Izuku and Bakugou are so cute i wanna cry
  • have i mentioned how much i love Bakugou’s dub voice yet because if i have i’m gonna say it again: i love his dub voice
  • last time on MHA: Bakugou and Izuku fucking attack each other and, as usual, only Izuku got hurt
  • he’s still working on that
  • pauses the ep to admire all of Bakugou’s amazing expressions
  • “IN THE NAME OF VILLAINY, STOP THIS!!!” he cries as a bunch of giant rocks come rushing at him. i love you Iida
  • Izuku’s voice acting here is so amazing i just. love it
  • and the animation here is fucking spectacular
  • *pauses again to admire Bakugou’s distraught expressions* don’t look at me
  • i should also mention that Izuku has some fantastic expressions here too
  • i just. Bakugou just has fantastic expressions overall, but these ones are just. beautiful. i love my confused, terrified, distraught son

I want to write a fic about Enjolras needing some old, obscure for some kind of report he’s doing (shh, I’m not creative or knowledgeable enough for this) and he’s complaining about really not having enough time in his schedule to hunt down a copy and Combeferre’s like “oh hey you know I’m pretty sure R has that book”

and Enjolras is kinda confused but he goes with it and of course Grantaire has that book because, as Enjolras finds out when he drops by to pick it up (he’d never been inside taire’s apartment before, never had a reason to), Grantaire owns a lot of books, many of them falling into the category of “old and obscure.” He’s surprisingly quick finding the book Enjolras needs, despite there being no organization system apparent in the midst of the shelves and piles

Enjolras is kind of shocked and barely says anything as he takes the book and goes on his way. He cites it as needed in his paper, noting all the penciled in footnotes and commentary scribbled in the margins

Grantaire told him he could just give him the book back at the next meeting, but Enjolras insists on bringing it by as soon as he’s finished with it. Once there, he asks for another rare book that Jehan had assured him Grantaire definitely owned. Grantaire’s surprised, but doesn’t ask him what he needs it for, just pulls it off the shelf and hands it over.

It continues like that for awhile, Enjolras dropping by sometimes as often as once or twice a week when his schedule permits. Grantaire’s come to expect him and invites him in every time, Enjolras pursuing his collection while they discuss whatever book Enjolras had most recently returned or just debating current events or philosophy.

Until finally it’s been months and midterms have just ended and Enjolras has been so busy that he hasn’t stopped by Grantaire’s apartment in three weeks and he’s surprised by how much he missed it.

Except Grantaire opens the door, tired and looking frustrated and confused. “Christ, I highly doubt you need something else to read. You’re supposed to be on break, take a goddamn nap for once or something.”

and Enjolras looks at him for a long moment, no excuse forthcoming, until finally he just says, “Do you want to go get coffee with me?”
