I didn’t fall in love with you. I walked into love with you, with my eyes wide open, choosing to take every step along the way. I do believe in fate and destiny, but I also believe we are only fated to do the things that we’d choose anyway. And I’d choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I’d find you and I’d choose you. (x)
The second chapter of the fic that was part 2/9 ofCloud’s Birthday Week 2k16 this summer. It’s late in coming… but I’m extremely happy with this and I hope you all love it too!! <3
A shapeshifting alien crashes his spaceship in the fields of Cloud’s farm. He calls himself Sephiroth and claims to have crashed while investigating an ‘anomaly’ somewhere on Gaia. A human, even if he’s still recovering from loss and not feeling like a hero, teams up with a Jenovian not only for his sake, but also his planet’s. pairing: Sephiroth/Cloud Strife
Lord, I come to you in humility and repentance. Heavenly Father, I ask that you forgive me, for I have been angry instead of prayerful. I have shouted instead of loved, I have not sought your face in this time of silence. Lord, bring me back to your side. Let me be with you, for you are always with me. Lay down my wounded and prideful heart. Allow me to surrender what I claim to be mine, so that I may gain what you have freely given.
When the darkness approaches, will you not cloak me in your love and grace? Will you not answer during the seasons of drought? Lord, I am drowning and I need you. I beg that you save me as you did Peter, as the waves crash, that you grab me and bring me back to the boat. I am sinful, clean me. I am broken, fix me. I am lost, find me.
In this time of strife, will you not ignite love once more? I need you, this world needs you. Break our hearts, open us to your will for it is the only hope we have.
Bring us back, bring us back, bring us back.
We are struggling under the waves of our own ignorance, save us and restore us. For you are Lord alone, and it is only in you that we find answers to our questions. Show us your face, so that we can spread the love this world so desperately needs.
You are God, you are the giver of life. May we never forget your goodness in our attempts at justice, for true justice only comes from you. Open paths in which we can help others, show us the way to go and give us the courage to walk that path till the end.
A message to my brothers and my sisters, to all those who are afraid because of this damnable election
You are strong, you can get through this… you can persevere. Donald Trump is a blight upon this nation and all of us here…and all those abroad, of this I am certain. But we can overcome. We have been through so much strife already, and remember that no one is alone, we have each other. Every last one of you is here for a reason, and it would be foolish to throw it all away because some upstart apricot fuck nugget gets into the white house.
I know you all are afraid… I am too… but in times like this it is better to stand as one and stay together than it is to crumble alone.
…whom Rhea bare. Queen of the immortals is she, surpassing all in beauty.”
- Homeric Hymn to Hera.
Please do not excuse this obligatory Hera appreciation post!
I’ll admit, for years I found Hera intimidating and unapproachable. She seemed particularly cold, aloof and distant compared to other deities, especially as my connection with Aphrodite and Her retinue had always felt warm and enticing and genuinely favourable.
Now I look back at and curse myself for not truly appreciating the regal, enchanting, powerful Queen of Heaven Herself - the white-armed, cow-eyed Queen of Olympus; Goddess of marriage, women and the sky; Wife of Zeus; Patron of Argos and Samos; mother of Ares (war), Hebe (youth), Eileithyia (childbirth), Hephaestus (metalworking) and Eris* (strife).
[cloud strife voice] if i had a nickel for every time sephiroth stabbed me through the chest and dangled me five feet off the ground, i’d have two nickels. which isn’t a lot, but it’s still weird that it happened twice
