Marc Guggenheim SDCC17 Interview

Marc Guggenheim was kind enough to meet with me for a one on one chat.

We walked the floor together with his nephew and little girl (who are the cutest) for an hour and talked all things Arrow!!! He told me this is his most aggressive SDCC schedule ever, so the fact that he slotted in some time just for me really meant the world. Marc Guggenheim is the actual best. He is the definition of it.

SPOILERS!!!

We launched right into number one on my list: wedding.

Hey Voltron Fandom, what the fuck?

I’m going to get straight to the point, you guys are self-destructive and are going to kill the fandom over your petty arguments and stupid self-entitlement. There hasn’t been a day since the beginning of the fandom that everything has just been peaceful for once (and I’ve been here since it’s birth) You all should be ashamed of yourselves, fighting online and hurting real people over fiction (this is not specifically towards ships btw) And I’m putting my foot down at all of this bullshit and trying to stop it

This is pretty lengthy so everything is under the cut

Really, when was the last time you got out of the house?”

You straighten up your sweater, sitting up on the bed, “Yesterday, to go to work.” She rolls her eyes at you and you feel like a kid that talked back to her parents. “Sure, you go to work almost every day, but when was the last time you got out the house to have fun?”

You don’t answer her because you don’t remember. Your life lately has been going to work and going home. “See, you don’t even remember. Look, I know that since you and Nathan broke up things are hard, but you need to go back out there. Have fun, do something crazy.”

Stick With Me, Kid *Negan x Reader*

Ratings/ warnings: Teen, mentions of blood and violence. I feel like, Negan as a dad is a warning.
Writers Notes: This doesn’t really have a set plot, it will follow alongside season 6 & 7, I’m unsure if I’ll make it so Carl and reader have a thing. But… I got big feels seeing Negan and Judith.

Notes: I had this idea last year, I wrote a few parts and then forgot about it. Now here I am, uploading it because I miss writing Negan! - Rosalee

Chapter One: Everybody Dies

Chapter Two: Not Everyone Is Gonna Wanna Save Ya!

You were silent and nervous at the new place with Negan and his men. The night you arrived people looked at you oddly, even more so due to the fact you clung to Negan like glue. The only person you really trusted, trust was a stretch, he was safe. The morning after, he passed you off to a woman named, Mary. You didn’t see him for a few days after that.

Mary, whilst she was nice wasn’t safe. It was also boring, Negan’s policy of living was different to the one you had come from; you pull your weight, you are rewarded or something to that extent. Being the youngest out of everyone wasn’t fun, Negan allowed you time to adjust, meaning you had nothing to do but wait till Mary got back to her room.

You prided yourself on being adventurous. You used to somehow always manage to leave your mother’s overbearing side, a door which unlocked, wasn’t going to stop you from looking around. Negan’s community was in some kind of warehouse, huge and industrial, it housed many people; more than your last community. You didn’t see any harm in looking around, seeing exactly what this place was like. Stretching on your tippy-toes you opened the door, peeking out and then walking out into the cold corridor, shutting it with a little click before carrying on your adventure.

Throughout your little adventure, you had to hide, not to be seen or spotted by one of Negan’s men, you didn’t exactly know if you were allowed to just walk around and you didn’t exactly want to find out the answer to that question.

You came to door, the window looking out was shining sunlight, you smiled and pushed it open. The rays of golden light hitting your face instantly, warming you up a little. You walked out and see a line-up of motorcycles, various colours and styles, you also spotted two men with their backs to you. Leather jackets, jeans and talking loudly amongst themselves, you swiftly turned and walked around the corner of the building.

You noticed a tall, caged fencing, with a frown you stepped closer and through the panels of woods that reinforced the fencing you could see movement. You recognised that sound, the sound of growling and frustrated grunts, yet you still looked. It was some kind of obstacle course, various junk was scattered and those people admitted throughout.

Then from the right, suddenly, a man began to violently shake the fencing for attention. His clothes were just sweats, grey with a large ‘H’ spray painted on in yellow. He had this terrified look in his eyes, they were locked on you and he was panting heavily, sweating under the sunlight.

“Little girl,” he rattled the fence. “You gotta help me,” he persisted, “Open the gate, please?”

Stepping back, it made him rattle the fence in frustration. “Why are you in there?”

“Because I tried to leave,” he tells you, “they found me and brought me back here, please. Just open the gate, I gotta get outta here,” he begged and you nodded once but before you can walk a hand is placed on your shoulder.

It’s large and warm, judging by the man’s wide, shocked eyes you know who it is. You look up as Negan is giving a hearty smile to the man behind the fence, you recognise two of the men from a few nights ago beside Negan.

“Well, hello to you too, Bill,” Negan calls out, “I see you met our newest resident, Y/N, I hope you weren’t trying to make her open that gate. Get her in trouble, get her thrown in there with you, I’d hate for another life be on your hands.”

Negan was clean shaven, leather jacket zipped up and the same baseball bat in his left hand, he had a menacing grin plastered on his face. The other guy, behind the fencing, named Bill was clinging to the metal; shaking under Negan’s stare. You could hear the slight rattling of the fence under the white-knuckled tightness of Bill’s hands, you frowned at his terrified eyes, did he actually deserve to be in there?

“Mike, take Bill to his… room, I’ve got to have words with this little sweetie.” Negan grabbed your hand with his right, pulling you a little forcefully away from the caged area and around the building. A few men littered, watching guard and a few working on the massive trucks. “Where’s Mary?” It was a simple question, yet, you didn’t know the answer.

You lightly shrugged, still holding his hand. “I don’t know,” your voice was small and delicate amongst the loud noises around you. “I didn’t intend to get caught, you know,” he let out a loud chuckle at that.

“A little smart ass,” he commented before he stopped walking. “I didn’t put you in Mary’s care for you to wander off and talk to our castaways,” you look over your shoulder, trying to still see where Bill was kept and Negan chuckled. “We survive. We provide security to others. We bring civilisation back to this world. We are the Saviors.” He gestured around, the men all nodding, “And people who don’t abide by the rules, get punished, Bill, didn’t tell you that he ransacked our medicine, and killed three men in the process of him ‘leaving’. Fair punishment, fitting for his crime.”

You were silent for a minute. “Am I going to go in there?”

“No. Unless you break the rules,” he looks down at you. “I get it. You’re adventurous, curious about this place. It’s okay, I just don’t want you running around alone, not a lot of the men here are very forgiving if you get in their way.” You gave a little nod, “you’ll get used to living around here soon enough,” Negan name is then called, “I’ll have someone take you back to Mary’s room. No more wondering without supervision, got it?” You nodded and he did back before walking around you.

Two Days Later

“He has bigger things to worry about than a little girl,” Mary tells you walking through the Sanctuary’s corridors. “He’s busy still proving to everyone around here he’s leader, it’s a climb to get everyone to completely trust you, he has to be seen as alpha around here. He can’t do that with a little girl clawing at his leg, can he?”

Mary was a small, agile women. Blonde hair and kind eyes, it was easy to see why Negan trusted you with her, he passed you off to motherly figure. There probably wasn’t many around and she seemed to be the only one, so far, that wasn’t cold and horrible towards you.

“He’s trying to lead all these people?” You asked walking into the workhouse, she chuckled and nodded.

“Yeah, he has his second in command, Simon.” You remembered Simon, he hadn’t been around much. “Negan has outposts for miles around, a lot of the soldiers are at those with communities of their own. I was at one before this, I was brought here to look after you,” she nudged and you smiled a little.

There were tables all lined up, piles of either food or clothing on them. Mary had explained the point system to you, this was the first time you had seen it played out. It reminded you of the Flea Markets your mother used to take you to before all of this. There was a man dealing with medicine, another women with food and other necessities a human may need.

“Did you used to get allowances?” Mary asked you nodded lightly. “Well, this is that. You earn points and you spend those points on stuff here, it’s pretty simple and easy to follow, you have few that still try to get around the system. It’s our way of life, now yours!”

You followed Mary around as she got food, a few little things that she needed, she was nice enough to get a chocolate bar for you.

“Don’t wonder off, stay where I can see you, kay?” You nodded and walked around the large warehouse room.

The bustling of people, lining up for what they wanted or needed. You slowly strolled around, eating the chocolate, getting bumped into and pushed around because of how small you are. You peeked over a table, smiling at the man sitting behind it, clothes piled on the surface.

“You must be the new resident,” he amused. His ageing face was either due to the torment of today’s problems or just him ageing. “Must be a big change,” he sighed.

You nodded, “It was a lot smaller and I lived in a house,” he nodded, “and everyone shared what was found, you didn’t have to work or earn, it was given.” He perked up at that, “Maybe that’s why it failed?”

“Nonsense,” He smiled. “That sounds like our new worlds, a new paradise,” you chuckled lightly, “Who knows, maybe, one day that will happen here. I’m Martyn.” He sighed but stands up, you frown and turn seeing two of Negan’s men walking over, shoulders tense.

“Leftie,” The bald one called, “Wade needs new jeans, whatcha got?” Not even glancing down at you as he comes around the table, lightly knocking into you.

The man, Martyn, sighed. “Again? That’s his third pair this month,” causing the man beside you to chuckle at that. Martyn shifted through the clothes he had laid out, “in your own time, leftie.” It was only when he struggled to go through the clothes you noticed one arm, the other sleeve was pinned to keep out of the way.

“He’s going as fast as he can,” you speak up with a little frown, Martyn shakes his head at you but you ignore it. Both men look at another with raised eyebrows, “His name is Martyn, not Leftie!”

The shorter one of the two, light red hair, almost blonde knelt down. “Listen, little girl, let the adults take care of this.” He smiled, “Just cause Negan brought you here doesn’t mean you can mouth off, you don’t get no privileges.”

Mary came running up, closing her hands around your shoulder and giving apologetic smiles to both of Negan’s soldiers. “I am so sorry, I told her not to go wandering off,” you looked up at her as she glared down at you but shakes her head.

“Mary, I don’t want to have to tell, Negan, that you can’t handle the child,” He stands up and she nods once. “Teach her some manners, when to keep her little mouth shut, we then won’t have a problem.”

“Y/N,” you tell him and he frowns, “My name is Y/N, you give basic respect, you receive basic respect; what my dad used to say.” Mary chuckles and tucks you under her arm, a little behind her as the man glares at you.

Martyn butts in with handing the jeans, muttering apologies for taking so long. You were glaring at the two men who took the jeans, giving Martyn a few words before turning to Mary, looking her over once. Their scowls made your skin crawl.

“Well, little girl, you’re here because your daddy is dead. Got it? So, whatever that useless fuck taught you are now forgotten. You respect people higher than you, that’s about everyone in this goddamn place, ya hear?” You looked to the floor, the harshness of his words tugging at your heart. Mary gave a disapproving glare to the men.

“She’s a child,” Her voice laced with motherly venom, you had heard your mother talk with the same harshness a few times before.

“No, she ain’t. In this new world, children either get killed or get you killed, don’t let it be the latter Mary, I’d hate to see you killed.” Both men nodded at Martyn, glaring at your silently crying form before leaving.

Mary took you back to her room, wherein she over a few rules to you. Mostly, not talking ANY of Negan’s men unless, completely, necessary. Negan had already said that his men aren’t entirely sympathetic, you just didn’t really think of it till now. She also told you not to go walking around on your own, even Negan said that, but you needed to talk to him.

Mary had given you a brief tour, not that you remembered where everything was, but you had the general direction to Negan’s living quarters. You heard a few female voices, you peeked from behind the wall and see three women talking before walking through a door, you frowned and snuck up behind them.

Pushing the door open silently, it was a big room and it had just those women inside. A bar was settled in the back, lavish chairs and it seemed music was playing, you hadn’t heard actual music in a while.

“Y/N?” A loud voice called your name, it caused the three women to look at you, you gave a shy smile before looking to see Negan walking towards you. “I specifically told you to not wander around alone!”

He stops a little short in front of you, crossing his arms in question. “I wanted to speak with you, I didn’t know how to find you without wandering.”

Instead of answering, he leans forward and pulls the door shut and taking your right hand, again, leading you down the corridor away from the room. He came to a door where he opened it, it was a bedroom, you skipped inside and he chuckled slightly as you sat in one of the armchairs he had settled by the window.

He followed sitting in the opposite one, raising an eyebrow as you looked, incredibly tiny against the overly large chair. “What did you need to talk to me about that couldn’t wait for you to get Mary to bring you to me? Is it about Mary? What’s she like? I’ve known her since the beginning, I figured she’d be good for you. She had two sons; you settling in a’right?”

“Fine, Mary is great, better than most of the people here.” He raised his eyebrows at that, “your men are rude. They treat anyone who is ‘below’ them poorly,” you expected some kind of response but Negan chuckled. You often got that type of response from adults when trying to be serious, often calling you ‘ferocious like a kitten!”

Negan stopped chuckling, “Listen, kid. I get it, you came from a little community that worked like equals, honestly, I wish it could be that way here. But you got to establish that the men who go out and risk their lives for them, for me, even for you now, well yeah; they deserve a new level of respect. The soldiers, my soldiers, are excluded from the point system because they deserve that privilege.”

“But they’re mean for the sake of it,” you frowned a little and Negan sighed.

“I can’t help it if people are sensitive to that,” he shrugs and that made you frown more, “You gotta develop a thicker skin to survive. You gotta work for what you want, work hard in order to get what you need, I can’t always have your back. Mary isn’t gonna always be lookin’ out for you, I’m not either, you can’t just come to me because someone isn’t treating you like a child; you aren’t one, not anymore.”

You remained silent letting his words sink in. You hated to admit it but he seemed right, you couldn’t rely on him nor Mary, plus maybe you were too sensitive. Martyn was a man, you didn’t know and you stuck up for him, he probably doesn’t care about being called ‘Leftie’. You gave a small nod, Negan nodded.

**

After your talk with Negan, you remained quiet when around Negan’s men. You didn’t want to say anything to upset them, yet it seemed you had created a feud, the two soldiers from days ago had a grudge against you. On purposefully knocking into you, telling the workers to only deal with your points when Mary was with you; only Mary was out scavenging with a small group.

It was a problem, a real one. Yet, Negan’s words echoed in your head; you can’t act like a child and go running to him when in need, you had to handle this yourself. So, that’s what you decided to do, it wasn’t going so well.

“Mary is out, I need this now,” You try to sound stern but it comes out more of a plea, the women working the food table, the broth bubbling in the pan gives a sympathetic smile. The soldier, Smith, known by his last name because there are four other John’s was standing with his arm crossed. The shorter one from when you first met Martyn. “I have all the points together, I’ve been helping with laundry, what’s the big deal?” You asked.

“You’re a child, we can’t just give you things because you may or may not have earned it, your guardian has to do that for you.”

“You can’t have it both ways,” he frowns at you, “I’m either a child or not, you can’t tell me one week to learn to be an adult and then today say I can’t buy soup because I am not an adult, so what am I?” Your little rant caused the attention of everyone to turn, you didn’t realise your usually small voice was now a yell.

Smith didn’t like that, he stepped towards you with a new fire in his eyes, the mocking smile he had was now gone and replaced with a sneer. “Listen, you no good cow, you should have died the day Negan brought you here. In fact, he should have left you, but he showed all of us his soft side. No wonder he has to work harder to prove himself, he let a stupid bitch like you live,” you backed up a step, knocking into a table as he continued to stalk to you. “Yeah, nothing to say now, no one to stupidly look out for you too. Look around you, not everyone is gonna wanna save ya, not everyone is as stupid as Negan was on that day.”

“Or compassionate,” you say before you can think. “That’s what makes him good, better than you-”

Before you can finish a force so harsh knocks you off your feet. A deep pain is stinging your cheek, your whole face really, but mostly a burning sensation is stricken on your left side. Tears welling up in your eyes, you look up at Smith who is leering over your body as everyone around is too stunned to move.

“You really, really, shouldn’t have done that Smith.”

(So, long chapter, I know. Hopefully, everyone likes this. Totally am not hinting Mary is Mary Winchester, I kinda am, it’s funny too. Love me. Let me know what you think, that helps me lot. - Rosalee)

12x11 Episode Review - What a Ride That Was!

Having just completed my second watch of this episode I have to say I am slightly stunned. I guess the best way to put it is ‘not what I expected’. But then what did I really expect? I was expecting pain, heartbreak, drama, interspersed with some humour and a big “no homo” scene to counteract last episode. I was expecting some dudebro Dean to appease certain types of viewer, along with a nice helping of deep subtext into Dean analysis for us to eat up that would go straight over that type of viewers head. I was certainly not expecting… Larry.

I haven’t looked at tumblr yet, except to glance at my askbox. I assume that you are all suitably going mad over Larry. Over the implications of Larry. Over the sheer insanity of the episodes biggest innuendo fuelled moments and probably laughing about it. I expect a hundred gifsets. I want to reblog those gifsets. I am also sure that Larry has already been meta’d to death… But what’s the harm in a little more meta to add to the massive pile gonna do? Because I wanna meta the FUCK out of Larry.

But there is a lot more to this episode than just Larry. We did get heartbreak. We did get drama and we did get some really nice character moments. Rowena particularly was amazing this episode (who am I kidding though she is always amazing) and I loved learning more about her thoughts. Overall I think it was entertaining, though not one of the best episodes, but that could be because the writing was a bit sloppy and sometimes the story didn’t make sense. I’ll get to why in a bit. Let’s just say that Meredith Glynn isn’t my favourite of the new writers by any means. I didn’t even review The One You’ve Been Waiting For because I didn’t feel particularly inspired by it at all.

But having said that she gave us Larry, and for that I will forever be thankful… even if she didn’t intend for us to take it the way I have (and I am guessing most of you reading this have too).

Anyway, main points to take away under the cut:

Reggie Mantle x Reader: Teammate

Request:

A/N: I was feeling inspired and my Wi-Fi went out :/. I hope you guys like this request imagine. Also I hope I lived up to the requestor’s vision. Also I love Reggie and plenty of you can agree that we need some damn character development for him.

Words: 1156

Summary: Reader moves away from California to Riverdale. Betty shows her around and she wants to join the bulldog’s football team. She gets in a fight with Reggie during tryouts.

Spoilers: GIRLS ARE AWESOME AND CAN DO ANYTHING A GUY CAN DO, SOMETIMES EVEN BETTER.

Warnings: I like the ending, but I do understand the fact that a girl and a guy can JUST be friends and never lead to anything romantic. I just ended it that way because I don’t know what the “~” means so I took it as maybe something may happen. Also like one swear word.

You were new to Riverdale. Sadly your father passed away and your mom decided to move back to Riverdale. She grew up there, and she wanted to get a fresh start and so you were moving from the beautiful sunny California to the Twin-Peakesque that was Riverdale.

As much as you were upset for leaving all your former life behind you, you just needed to be there for your mom. You lost your father, but she lost her soulmate. You bid farewell to your old football teammates and your friends and packed away your life. Your mother decided her fresh start included getting rid of all your dad’s stuff and she donated all his stuff to the Salvation Army. Thankfully she let you keep his old football jersey, he would let you wear when he’d practice with you.

You bid goodbye to your mother as she left for her new job with the mayor and you left for school.

It was your first day at Riverdale High and you were a bit nervous about being the new girl. Adding the pressure that it was the start of football season and you were beyond nervous for try outs. This was your first time without your father. He always rooted for you and you knew he was rooting for you wherever he was, you just missed him.

A girl named Betty was your assigned show around person for your first day. She helped you find your classes and told you about the clubs and activities.

“Hey um do you know anything about the football team here?” you asked the blond.

“Um we don’t have a girl football team if that’s what you’re asking” she smiled.

“That’s fine, they didn’t have one back in California either. I was part of the guy’s team” you replied.

“Really, oh my god, props to you” she stated with a surprised look on her face and you couldn’t blame her she was practically the girl next door a cliché if you will, it was a small town after all.

“They are having tryouts today for the guy’s team though, are going to show up?” she asked.

“That was the idea” you sassed a bit.

“Oh, I’m so sorry” Betty replied “I’m being close minded” she continued.

“It’s fine, I totally understand. I mean my parents fought for me to get on my old football team too. Nobody gets at first, it doesn’t surprise me” you explained.

“Are you really good? I mean if you are they’re gonna have to let you in” Betty cheered.

“I’m good. Then again I can be biased” you chuckled “My mom works for the mayor though, so if they don’t let me join because I am a girl the woman will riot” you continued.

“Then you are lucky” Betty stated.

“Not for her job, I know she’ll do it as a mom because she knows it means a lot to me” you confessed “but her job title may help as well” you answered as you both laughed at your comment.

After your last class Betty and a raven haired girl named Veronica escorted you to the football field after their classes.

“We’ll cheer you on” they said in sync.

“It’s kind of our job” Veronica added and you chuckled as you put on your gear and walked up to the field with the rest of the guys who were trying out.

“And might you be?” the tall black haired boy stated with a devilish smirk.

“I might be one of the greatest teammates you will have” you sassed back.

“A girl?” a dirty blonde muscular guy added with a laugh that made your blood boil.

“All right” Coach Clayton shouted “Reggie is the quarterback, we need a few defense and offense spots to fill for the varsity team, are you up for the commitment you are about to make if you are added to this team” he continued as the black haired tall one stood next to him.

The coach had heard about your old team, so he decided to not be biased and see what you had.

Try outs went well, until a boy who you learned was named Chuck mixed up the play and Reggie got tackled before he made a touchdown.

“What the hell (Y/L/N) you were supposed to be my defense!” he yelled.

“I had it right! Chuck mixed up the play and that’s why you got tackled!” you yelled back and you got pushed against Reggie and he pushed you back and it turned into a fight.

The brawl got heavier and you punched too hard. You were so sick of all these guys thinking that because you were a girl you weren’t tough. You made your point, but now the quarterback was lying unconscious on the grass.

You asked one of the teammates to bring water and ice to throw on Reggie’s face. The coach came close and you couldn’t help but mutter “shit” under your breath. Soon the teammate brought the cup. You poured it on Reggie’s face as the coach finally made it to the field.

Reggie woke up and you wiped the water of his face with a small towel. As the coach was going to tell you something, Reggie stood up and spoke up.

“Well, you sure have proven yourself (Y/N)” as he gave you his hand to shake and you took it.

“Well welcome to the team (Y/N), you are officially a bulldog” Coach Clayton informed you.

After practice you changed in the girl’s locker room and Betty and Veronica congratulated you and left since they had stuff to attend to.

You saw Reggie leaving the boys the locker room as you rushed to him.

“Hey, um sorry about the whole thing” you implied as you caught up.

“Oh, that’s fine. We are gonna need that fire for the team” Reggie accepted your apology.

“So I made the team because I beat you up?” you questioned him as you both made your way out of the school.

“A little, I didn’t think you would knock me out, but you were great at practice, more than plenty of some other players. I just wanted to see what you could do” Reggie implied.

“Do you guys always need to fight to sort things out?” you threw another question at him.

“Everyone needs to fight sometimes” he chuckled “Plus, I doubt this was the first fight you have gotten into because of being the only girl on the team” he rose an eyebrow.

“You always have to be ready to protect yourself” you retorted with a smile on your face and he returned it.

Soon you and Reggie became good friends, you would always hang out. After practices you would take walks and talk about the plays. He confided in you and you confided in him. And maybe this new found friendship would turn into something else.

Thoughts on Down

This is a long-ass shit, and I’m not forcing you to read. Also, please be reminded that this is just MY opinion. We all have different opinions, and I’m here to simply share my thoughts, and not to convince you to change yours. So please don’t go to my ask pushing your opinion. I already heard yours. I woke up to a bunch of “asks” and I already know that some don’t like it, while some do.

My initial reaction:

• why is this so auto-tuned? Okay, Dinah’s voice sounds like smooth warm caramel on top of a sundae. Why is this so basic? Lauren’s adlibs tho! Why are the lyrics so generic? Oooh WFH melody… It’s gonna be a bop! Wait why is the chorus so blandly repetitive? But it’s not that bad. Why do they sound so alike?

• and picture me with my earphones on listening to the first verse, pre-hook, chorus and shit with a pensive look on my face, and disappointment running through my head like damn I wanted more…

But then Gucci Mane came in, (and I know I’m the minority in this one), but for me, the first authentic reaction the song elicited from me was his part.

Why? Because his part was so off and out of nowhere that it took me out of the rut I was in. Like imagine a flat line where the song was just monotonous, like a car cruising on a smooth freeway (not bad, but also kind of boring) but then you run into a pothole and you get jerked off your stupor…

That’s what gucci’s part was for me. A tiny spike on that flat line. A deviation that held my attention. I’m not saying it’s amazing. I’m saying that the grating sound of the bass and the randomness of it was what made me smile while listening to it. I’m not even exaggerating when I say that I was smiling the whole time I was listening to that weird bass with a tiny bit of goosebumps on my skin because I knew then that I COULD like Down without lying to myself. It was the only thing that caught my attention, aside from Lauren’s adlibs (which, girl, I wish she did more. I live for Lauren going offffff)

Don’t get me wrong though, I’m so done with these collabs with rappers, like I wanted to hear them alone, like they did with Boss (idc if you say that one is trash lmao, Boss is a bop for me. I fucking love that shit 😂), but if they really have to collab with rappers, I wish it wasn’t Gucci. Maybe Chance, or Migos damn…

But if it were up to me, I wish they would have collabed with female rappers. I still am salty that NTKG wasn’t utilized much. A missed opportunity with Missy Elliott like bitch you had to release TMG over NTKG? NTKG was at least more authentic with the sound it’s trying to project. It was old school and it owned it. Like Voicemail was reminiscent of 90’s bops and not lacing it with today’s trendy dancehall or tropical vibe. It has its own sound, and not a mix of everything generic we hear today where we hear a song and we automatically hear the edm producers more than the artist.

But OMG I digress, sorry.

So yeah, DOWN…

So after my initial reaction, I gave it a couple more listen, and then I watched the live performance, then I slept, then I woke up the next day and I listened to the audio a couple more times, watched the live several more, and here’s my conclusion:

• Down is that kind of a summer bop which grows on you. It’s not a bad song. It’s simplistic but also season-friendly. It’s probably what the label insisted on as their first release.

The reason why it probably feels lacking for me, aside from its repetitiveness, is that maybe it lacks another verse. It’s shorter than WI and WFH so it feels incomplete. There must be a reason for it. It could really be just a teaser.

• at this point in my 5h-stanning life, I’m not even expecting anything mind-blowing. All I want is for 5H to slay the charts, because this should be their era. They seem genuinely happy now and my god after everything they’ve been through (label shit and all), ALL FIVE OF THEM deserve our unwavering support.

• Sure, Down isn’t what I expected. Yes, I wanted more. I wanted more lyrics. I wanted a kickass sound. But, idk man, after several repeats, I think it’s a good enough bop.

• with regards to the vocals, I still hate the auto-tuned shit. I get that maybe they’re finally utilizing Lauren’s range, but I prefer that they don’t auto tune much because I could barely hear her rasp (which was still obvious in her live performance, despite the higher tone she’s using).

Maybe they’re doing it on purpose, making them sound the same as a symbol of their new sound’s “cohesiveness”, but I prefer old 5h where their voices are uniquely different.

• and I’m not even complaining that it sounds like WFH. I don’t have a problem with an artist using a tried and tested formula for ONE of their album’s single. It’s meant to hook the audience. It gives them that familiar sound which could make a NON-FAN recognize their older hits and draw them to the new one. Just because they said “NEW ERA” doesn’t mean that they should change their ENTIRE sound. There’s always that one or two singles that are meant to hook the general public. It’s a constant compromise a mainstream artist makes with their label.

(I mean, The Chainsmokers basically generate the same sound over and over and they’re charting as if they created music. And no, I’m not a big fan of the chainsmokers.

Point is, re-using WFH is not something unheard of. It’s a business move.)

You really can’t please everybody. Because when Lady Gaga released an album that felt authentic for her, some people criticized it and kept saying they wanted the old “Bad Romance” Gaga. When Lorde released her new single, Green Light, her hipster fanbase called her a sell-out and didn’t like that she’s deviated from her “sound” to be more mainstream and I was like bitch can’t an artist explore a different side of her artistry?

And on the flip side, can’t an artist use their old sound? My point is, Down was produced by the same people who made WFH for a reason. They are playing safe. They wanted a single that would generate enough attention like their previous ones did. Then maybe, just maybe, their next singles which probably showcase their authentic sound and lyrics will have as much impact since now people are paying attention. Because no matter how much we want them to be authentic, they’re still a girl group under a greedy ass label who needs them to maintain what their idea of a girl group music and image should be..

And while Down is not something I’m particularly excited about, it’s starting to get stuck in my head, and I don’t hate it. It’s a light summery chill song that’s good to play with your friends while sipping on your drinks by the pool. It is what it was supposed to be.

I get it, I was disappointed too. Down is a downer. But I’m not gonna judge the whole album with one single yet. I’m gonna wait.

This is why I wrote this one before Down was released:

https://problematic-camren.tumblr.com/post/161338803713/5h3

Because I knew that I wasn’t expecting much from their music. I sure hope for more, definitely, BUT stanning 5H isn’t always about their music.

And just because I don’t like a few of their songs, doesn’t mean they don’t deserve my support.

I’m supporting 5h because they represent girls who are not a standard definition of what society thinks a girl should look like or how they should act like. They symbolize us. They showed us that one can achieve their dreams through hard work, and while they have been mistreated before (by their label and by fans alike) they still kept their heads up high, with grace and maturity, and kept on spreading love and inspiration, and they kept on smiling even if their hearts were breaking. They kept striving to be the best they could be, and it’s inspiring. And to see genuine warmth from these pop stars, their love and appreciation for their fans, is something that makes me wanna stan them forever. That’s why even if i really don’t like their music, I’d still keep on stanning them, because what they shared to us, the representation they gave us, the beauty and poise they all showed us, man, even if they fucking screeched for an entire album, I’ll be fuucking putting that on loop and still support their asses.

And I know it’s blind support, but I knew what I was getting into when I started supporting 5h. I wasn’t a pop person before this, I knew I won’t love their music so much. I stan them because I like them, plain and simple.

And I know it’s different for everybody. It’s all just a matter of preferences. Some could unstan just coz they don’t like the song, and that’s totally okay. We’re free to stan or unstan whoever we want. But like I said, it’s just one song. Let’s wait for the other singles and the album.

Ideally, I would love for them to show us everything they have as artists. This is their chance to go big. They have so much potential and I would have liked to see it shine while they’re still in the group. I want the brand Fifth Harmony to leave a lasting mark in this industry. I want them to be on the same spot as TLC or SG or DC. I want them to legit deserve their title.

And Down is not it. But guess what? Down is just one single. I’m gonna wait patiently for the rest of their stuff. I ONLY NEED THAT ONE CLASSIC HIT I’VE BEEN CRAVING FOR SINCE I STARTED LISTENING TO THEM. ONE CLASSIC SONG THAT WOULD STILL BE PLAYED GENERATIONS LATER BECAUSE IT’S JUST SO DAMN RELATABLE AND HEARTFELT.

That’s all I want. And I hope I’ll find that in 5H3.

Yes, Down is empty.

But I won’t unstan just because of one song. We can be disappointed (as I sure was), but I think that 5H is worth more than a few musical disappointments.

Big Role

Warnings: Like one cuss word
Characters: Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, SPN cast member!reader, Misha Collins(mentioned)
Summary: You’re an actress on SPN and you get a big role in a new show and it comes up in a con
Reader’s Age: Roughly 15/16 years old. It could work for any though.
Word Count: 1049

Y/N: Your Name

A/N: This originally had Misha in it too but it became too much of a hassle to include all of them so I just did Jensen and Jared. Enjoy!

You, Jensen, and Jared were all backstage getting ready to do a small panel. Ever since you were no more than three years old you’ve been acting on the show. Sure, a three-year-old doesn’t necessarily have much acting skill, but you had enough to get by. The boys loved having you on the show. You always brightened up their day, and you’ve also got a little bit of Jared, Jensen, and of course, Misha in your personality.

Of course, school was always a problem until your parents decided to pull you out and let you become homeschooled. The set would take breaks every now and then to let you do some school throughout the day, and if you needed any help then you just went to one of the guys.

You’ve just always been there and around them. They’ve become your family. You love doing conventions and meet-ups because it means you get to meet your even bigger family. The Supernatural family.

You’re a pretty popular character on the show. Most girls look up to you since you started acting so young and haven’t gone down a bad path, probably because you have such good influences in your life. Occasionally, you get to do your own panels, but you mainly prefer to have one of your boys there with you.

“You ready, kid?” Jensen asked as he handed you a microphone.

“As ready as I’ll ever be!” you responded enthusiastically.

Jared walked over and flashed you a quick smile before turning towards the stage. The band started playing and you three made your way onto the stage. The crowd cheered as the band played along. You three smiled and waved at everyone until you all realized the end of the song was coming up. You all, hilariously, got into your jumping stances and waited for the right time. Just when the song was about to end you all jumped up and slammed back down as if you were playing an electric guitar.

Lights blinded you as you looked out into the crowd, you smiled and waved back as the screaming never faltered. You walked over to the mic stand and put your microphone in it.

“How y'all doin’?” Jared asked. The crowd cheered in response.

“That’s great because we need you guys to get our energy up. Jensen has been dragging his feet all day,” you teased, looking over at your co-star with a shit-eating grin.

“Hey! Blame the two new munchkins!” Jensen retorted, earning laughs from you and everyone else.

For a few minutes you three told a few stories then went into questions. A young girl, no more than sixteen was next to ask a question. She had short brunette hair and was wearing angel wings with a trench coat. She took a deep breath before blurting, her voice young and shaky, “So, Y/N. Rumor has it that you’re gonna be one of the main roles in the new show Stranger Things. Is that true?” Jensen and Jared both shook their heads slightly with small smiles.

“Yeah, yeah. It’s true,” you responded humbly.

“Yep. It’s official! She’s leaving us!” Jensen threw his arms up. “After years and years of being on Supernatural, she’s gonna drop us like a little kid playing with an old toy!” Jensen teased.

You slapped his arm with a smile that just would not go away; it never did at these events “It’s not permanent! It’s just for one season.”

“For now. One season will turn into two, which will turn into three…” Jared chimed in, trailing out his voice as he stuck out his bottom lip in a pout.

“I’m still on the show, ain’t I?” you replied with a giant grin.

Jared walked over and engulfed you into a hug and fake cried loud enough for the crowd to hear, “She’s growing up so fast! Moving onto bigger and better things! I’m so proud!”

“Get off me, Moose!” you playfully pushed him away, hearing the crowd laugh.

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad you got the role, but just don’t forget about your family here.” Jensen got serious for a moment and pointed to everyone.

“Y'all have nothing to worry about, I could never forget you,” you smiled and hugged Jensen while the crowd awed. “Anyway, next question!” you turned to a man holding a mic.

“Oh. Uh, yeah. Um, are you excited to be on Stranger Things and will it interfere with you being on Supernatural?” a man asked on the other side of the room. You stared at the ceiling as you thought about the conflicting times.

“I am very excited, but sadly, it will interfere with working on Supernatural. I’ll probably show up here and there in a few episodes, but as of right now my main focus is Stranger Things.” The crowd awed, but not from an adorable moment like before, it was for the inevitable chunk in time without you on the show; they did it just to try and keep you staying stuck with them and you loved the family more for it.

“I know, I know. It’s sad, but it’s not forever! Like I said, it’ll probably only be for a season.”

“She’s a big actress now, huh?” Jensen pursed his lips, a smile tugging at the ends. “Soon enough you’ll see her name on every billboard in every city!”

“I think you’re going a little overboard there,” you chuckled.

“Nah, you can never go overboard when it comes to our favorite sister!” Jared pulled you into another warm and familiar hug.

“Anyway,” you huffed after you’d pulled away from Jared, setting your hands on the mic which was still in the mic stand. “Who’s next?”

Jared and Jensen answered a few questions, then came another for you. “I was wondering if we would see a crossover episode between Stranger Things and Supernatural?” the woman asked. You pondered on it with an intrigued smirk at the idea, but then it dawned on you:

“Probably not, considering that Stranger Things takes place in the 1980s, way before my time,” you chuckled sheepishly.

“Maybe you time traveled?” Jared suggested with a shrug.

“Maybe,” you replied deviously, deciding not to completely destroy the idea and at the same time making them even more enthusiastic about the possibility.

I hope y’all like this one! I’m open for tips on improving!

For ‘Grey’s’ Doc Jessica Capshaw, Work-Life Balance Is a Total Myth | Yahoo Style

Jessica Capshaw, who plays doctor Arizona Robbins at the fictional Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, says starring on Grey’s Anatomy has changed her life. She’s loved playing a lesbian onscreen but had no idea what her story arc would be when she first signed on as a guest star.

“[Shonda Rhimes] called me into her office and she was really direct. She was like, ‘I want you to stay for another episode, and in the next episode, you’re going to kiss Callie,’” Capshaw tells Yahoo Style, referring to her former onscreen partner played by Sara Ramirez. ‘I’m game to try stuff. So I was like, ‘Yeah. OK!‘”

Eight seasons later, the actress is a mainstay on the medical drama. Her “go with the flow” attitude has taken her character through all sorts of crazy plotlines including the loss of a leg and a recent divorce, which has opened the door for Rhimes to toss another curveball Capshaw’s way: having her heat things up on creen with her real-life friend Marika Dominczyk.

“It was definitely one of those moments when you were like, ‘I’m going to kiss my friend.’ That’s going to happen,” she says, with a laugh.

When she’s not saving infants onscreen, Capshaw is busy parenting her tribe of four. And while she, like many working moms, is juggling a career, family, and personal life, she is quick to proclaim that the idea of work-life balance is a fantasy. Here’s more from this outspoken actress.

What do you love about playing Arizona?
There’s a lot of loss that transcends in themes with Arizona but I think this season gets to be more about finding what she loves and getting to be in a relationship that’s a little irreverent, to get to be chased by someone. She gets to feel the newness of being in a relationship that is physical that is not her ex. And that’s been really fun to play this season. It’s been nice and new and fresh.

Arizona was with Callie for so long. Is it fun to get to play the field now?
It is! This year, my love interest is played by Marika Dominczyk. I’ve known her for quite a while, and she’s a good friend of mine — and married to Scott Foley, who is also a friend of mine. It’s a very interesting negotiation, but we had fun. We laughed a lot. And our husbands have definitely had a laugh or two over it.

Do you feel honored to be able to help fight for equality by portraying this character on a weekly basis? And to eventually teach that lesson to your kids?
I never would have imagined that I would be able to play a character that would feel like it does so much good, whether it’s people who feel like the character resonates with them and it makes their day a little easier to see themselves represented. Or if it’s someone watching it who has someone in their life who is gay and they might have not understood it before and all of a sudden, they have another person or another thing to point to and say, ‘Oh that’s a different context.’ Being able to play a lesbian as a series regular on television has been enormously rewarding.

My daughter goes to preschool, and the preschool has all kinds of families. And I guess one of the kids said, ‘You have to have a mom and a dad to have a baby.’ And my daughter said, ‘No. No you don’t.’ And this was all overheard and told to me later. She said, in a very kind and patient way to that child, ‘There can be a mom and a mom and a dad and a mom and there can be a dad and a dad.’ I am so grateful that she will never know any different, and it will only be if she is in the presence of people who are on the wrong side of history or small-minded that she will hear anything other than that. I feel grateful to have her living in a family that will put her out into the world as someone who understands the world a little bit.

You work long hours on the show but have four kids and a husband at home. How do you do it all?
My schedule is incredibly all over the place. A lot of people, especially who are working moms, say it’s all about balance and trying to create a balance, and I respectfully disagree. I don’t know that any part of my day is ever balanced. I don’t spend equal parts being mom or being a worker, being a wife, being an advocate, being a humanitarian, whatever it is that I am endeavoring to be.

I constantly have to make sacrifices. With four kids, there are going to be that many holiday performances and there are going to be spring performances and field trips and muffin mom. So there is tons of stuff that is there for the doing, and I pick and choose what I can. I find in my own life as a mom, that I always try to pick the things that I actually enjoy because I think my kids see that in me. I have a crazy schedule, and sometimes it works for me to be able to do the thing that I said I was going to do, and sometimes it doesn’t. So you sacrifice sometimes being able to go to the thing or pick up the child. I had much more stringent and very inflexible ideas of what I thought it meant to be a great mom when I first started.

I remember thinking that there was just no way in the world that my kid would ever have a doctor’s appointment that I wouldn’t be there for. But when you’re just starting out, you think things should be one way and you’re humbled that it takes a village. And there will be times when your kid is sick and they need to go to the doctor and you’re not going to be there. But thank God they are still going to the doctor. It’s just so unrealistic to think that we can do it all.

Your youngest is 1. Has it been exciting to return to your pre-pregnancy style?
I never wore maternity clothes, except for a couple of pairs of — yes, it’s true — jean shorts that I wore where I swear the inseam was like half an inch. It was embarrassing. I like myself a pair of jean shorts. I just did a recent purging of my closet, and I’m not gonna lie, there were probably five to six one-inch if not half-inch inseam denim shorts that had to go. I really felt like maybe it was time. Maybe they have just run their course in my life.

Once I had kids, I definitely did start to realize how I’d like to dress that feels comfortable and at the same time it feels current and it feels stylish and you feel like it has an attitude or an opinion. And sometimes you are in your workout clothes until 4 in the afternoon.

Fashion-wise, what are you into these days?
I find that for me, in the summer especially, it’s all about dresses. It’s one stop. You put on your great dress and some sandals. I love almost the entire Ulla Johnson line. They are great dresses; they are easy to put on. I also love finding sandals that go with everything and then finding a pair that have a ton of color that I’m excited to pair with something. I stick with blues quite a lot — light blue, dark blue. Besides blue as a color, I tend to say in the neutrals and the nudes, the creams, and the whites and the golds. I love a button-down shirt. I love a great pair of jeans. And I love a heel. I loved when the block heels came back in. It was so great because they are so much more comfortable, especially when you have four kids.

I have some fellow-mom fashionistas. My friend Marliene Rentmeester has a blog called Le Catch. I get the little newsletter every day, and it’s always got something fun in it at every price point. Unless it’s very ephemeral and very inexpensive, I think at this point in my life, I’m all about the classics. What do you love that you’re going to love for a very long time?

What’s your stance on scrubs?
I count myself among the lucky that I get to go to work in my pajamas. It takes me like 14 seconds to get into my outfit.

Has it been fun dressing your kids?
I kind of live for it. I have a little bit of a problem! And on any given day, probably any of my children are dressed better than I am. They go through their clothes so fast, but I do have to say, I stretch it out.

How did they hide your baby bumps on set?
During the tenure of my time on the show, we went from having real x-rays and real clipboards to having iPads. I used to carry the pads and the x-rays and it would be right in front of my stomach, or I would stand behind desks and that kind of worked. Then the Microsoft pads came out and I was like, ‘I have less room to hide!’ So they had to play with camera angles. But I think if anybody looks at the past couple of seasons, you’ll definitely see when I’m pregnant and when I’m not! Debbie Allen directed an episode one time where she actually used an entire ambulance to hide my pregnant body. Everyone got a very good chuckle out of the fact that it took and entire ambulance to cover me. I was like, ‘Guys I’m not that big!’

I’ve heard that Shonda Rhimes is a huge advocate for working moms.
She is amazing. She understands that every mom is going to need something different. And what she’s been so great about is she goes to the person and says, ‘What do you want? What do you need? What would make this transition and being a mom good for you in this way?’ She’s a godsend, and she’s in the earned position where she has quite a bit of power and she commands attention and understanding from people. And she’s able to say “This needs to be looked at” to the powers that be that might not have been keen on expanding options for maternity leave and childcare. And I think that’s an incredible thing.

Do your kids visit you on set?
I do believe that sets are a workplace and you have a ton of adults, you have a ton of equipment, you have a lot of dust. You have people that are frustrated, people that are joyful. And I’m the worst, by the way. I don’t know how it’s possible but I never cuss at home. I get to work and I cuss like a sailor. And you’ve got words going around. So I am always like, “The set it not a place for kids.” But we all have kids come and visit in our trailer, and I feel like when we are on location, kids always come visit because it’s a park or a building and that’s fun.

Do your kids realize their mom is a big TV star?
People come up and they’ll say something or they’ll ask for a picture and my kids think it’s the funniest thing they’ve ever seen. They just think it’s hysterical! They don’t understand it.

Your mom was an actress. What did she teach you about navigating Hollywood as a woman?
I think the greatest gift that my mom gave me was that I never saw myself as less than because I was a woman. I never thought — and naively so — that I’d have to give up more or I couldn’t do as much or I couldn’t get as much. She has such a strong character and incredible conviction, and she’s done so much and she’s accomplished so much and she’s just traveled so far. I think you have to take it one step at a time. If you find out there is a guy getting paid more than you and you do the same job, then you pick that fight. But it can’t be about everything all the time, at least not in that moment. I think then people get overwhelmed and they lose sight of what they are actually fighting for. I think it’s very important to be organized in your call to action in order to understand what it is that you want to accomplish before you go out there with arms swinging.

Transcript of David on the NBC Sports Show - April 25/17

For those who sent me messages, here ya go!  :)

Note 1: I shortened the questions.

Note 2: Is it just me or does this guy not know how to pronounce DuchoVny?

Q: Are you doing what you went to school to do?

D: Well those programs are not really Fine Arts programs, they’re not writing programs. It’s more like studying to become an academic or a professor and teach literature rather than write it so I don’t know if it’s exactly what I set out to do as a career path, but it certainly was in the ballpark.

Q: How long did it take you to write this book?

D: Well I wrote it as a screenplay over 10 years ago and it kinda has been languishing in a drawer and I decided, after I wrote a novel called Holy Cow a couple of years ago, I realized that I could do it, that I could sustain a novel. That I could write like I thought that I might be able to. I always loved the story and I hadn’t been able to make the movie so I turned it into a novel in about six months probably. The funny thing there’s interest again in making it as a movie so it might turn into that in the end.

Q: Basically asks him if he went with Holy Cow first (which David already said!).

D: They were both ideas that I had conceived of as movies because that’s the business that I’m in. I hadn’t thought of myself as a novelist so Holy Cow was an animated film idea that I had and I decided to do that one first because it felt kind of liberating to kinda write for a younger audience. I felt like I wasn’t being that serious or maybe I might escape some harsh judgement. You know with the fact that I was writing in a genre that might not be taken as seriously as literature and then the Bucky effin Dent was always one of the favorite stories that I have ever come up with. I had the screenplay in a drawer not the novel. Turning anything into a novel from another form is not as simple as it might seem so it did take a while and it grew and it became somewhat different story in the transformation from screenplay to novel.

Q: What did you like so much about making this story?

D: Well you bring up the point. It is set in ‘78 and the charade that Ted the son is able to do for Marty the father which is kind of create this news bubble around him where if the Sox lose they can fake a newspaper or he’s got some tapes on VCR of the Sox winning that he can fool his father. Now obviously in today’s world that would be an impossibility, but when I started to actually think about the nuts and bolts of how and if this guy would be able to fool his father, luckily for me 1978 was the first year that VCRs came out on the market so Ted has a prototype of the VCR and when the Sox lose he’s able to put in a different tape of the Sox winning so that’s how he tries to save his father. But obviously at some point the dad figures out what’s going on and his health deteriorates. There’s a couple of reversals and turns that gets them to the playoff game and the final out and Bucky effin Dent hitting that fateful home run.

Q: How do you feel about what people have said about your work?

D: That particular book was reviewed very well so you know I tend to not read reviews of acting or anything that I do. I prefer not to read reviews, but in the book world it’s kind of a smaller publicity world than obviously movies or television so it’s really review driven so I was interested in reviews hoping that I would get some good reviews so that we could then alert some other people that it was getting good reviews, etc. So I was happy. I was happy that people seem to get what I was trying to do and they were moved by it. My intention in writing the screenplay first and then the novel was to… you really write an old-fashioned book or movie to where you’re moved to laughter and tears. I think that’s the story that I set out to write.

Q: Which one do you do best of the three? (Act, sing or write)

D: I don’t know. I’ve certainly acted longer, or I’ve probably written longer than any of it. But you know, they all come with different sets of challenges. I’d say with music that I’m probably the least developed of any of those things, but then again that brings with it the excitement of learning new things, of being a beginner so I don’t know what I’m best at. I think I enjoy doing them all.

Q: This guy’s got no problems. He’s made it. His life is complete. Am I wrong?

D: Well I mean, it depends, you know. In many ways life is complete but I just- I don’t wanna see it that way. I just see it as, you know, those were like seasons as an athlete, a job that I had. We had a good year, a bad year. But to me life is really about trying the new things and it’s not something about proving myself, but really enjoying myself and continuing to express myself. I also have a family so that completes my life in a completely different way. I’m grateful for the successes I’ve had and yet it’s still fun to try new things and even failure can be a great teacher.

Q: What do you want people to take away from the book.

D: I’d like them to laugh out loud and I’d like them to cry at certain points. I’d like them to have an experience.  Baseball is like… My own son is gonna be a better player than I ever was. He’s got a rocket for an arm. He’s a pitcher. It’s a way to talk about other things, it’s a way to talk about stuff, but communicate and spend time. It’s just kind of a wordless… it’s a long game. It’s a game of silences and it’s a game of lulls. It’s not action-packed. It’s like bursts of action. So there’s a lot of time to talk in between. Even like when I was in high-school, and this was before call-waiting even, this was like when you monopolized your one telephone line, I remember watching a ballgame with a buddy of mine, him on one phone in his apartment in New York and me in my apartment, two hours on the phone mostly silent just watching the game and making the occasional comment. With baseball you can do that.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 Finale Says Goodbye to Another Cast Member (SPOILERS) | Variety
By Jean Bentley

SPOILER ALERT: Do not read ahead, if you have not watched the season finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13, which aired on Thursday, May 18.

Grey Sloan Memorial said goodbye to one of its own, after a fire rocked the hospital in the Season 13 finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” — but despite some major foreshadowing, the goodbye was not due to death, unlike most “Grey’s” departures.

However, that doesn’t mean the exit isn’t permanent. The season finale revealed that Jerrika Hinton’s Dr. Stephanie Edwards is leaving her job and the medical profession entirely. The storyline comes as the actress is exiting the ABC series for a role in Alan Ball’s new HBO drama, as Variety previously reported.

In Thursday night’s episode, after fighting off a rapist and dodging an explosion, Edwards spent the season-ender ignoring her own life-threatening burns to save a little girl — which she did, by the way — in the process, she realized what she wants out of life: to stop spending all her time in hospitals.

As for Hinton, the actress joined “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2012. She expanded her Shondaland relationship last season when she was cast as the lead in the company’s comedy pilot “Toast,” which ultimately did not go to series.

Regarding Hinton’s exit, in a statement provided to Variety, series creator Shonda Rhimes said: “Actors evolve differently and when an actor like Jerrika comes to me and says she wants to try something new creatively, I like to honor that. Jerrika has shared so much of herself with Stephanie and I am incredibly proud of the journey we’ve taken together. While I’m sad to see Stephanie leave Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, I am excited to see what’s next for Jerrika.”

Here, Hinton fights back tears as she speaks to Variety about her decision to leave “Grey’s Anatomy,” her new HBO series, and why you shouldn’t expect to see Edwards back in Seattle any time soon…

When did you decide to leave the show?
Shonda and I met almost a year ago now, and we had a very lengthy and gratifying and really splendid conversation about work and creative process. She was immensely supportive of my wishes, and she’s really lovely, Shonda. Every private conversation I’ve had with her has left with me feeling just heard and seen and respected as a human being and as an artist, and I really appreciate that.

Have we seen the last of Edwards full time, or could we see her come back in a guest role?
I genuinely don’t know the answer to that question. I will say, though, that because of the nature of her injuries and because of what she says she wants to experience in her next chapter of life, if we do see her come back through those doors, it will be a long time. I think that she needs to heal. She needs to heal in a variety of ways before that place becomes a viable option again.

Can you pinpoint a favorite moment you had with your character over the years?
To be honest, that final scene … with Jim Pickens [who plays Dr. Webber], that stands out in my memory. That was, for a scene that’s so weighty, so heavy, tapping into it was a beautifully straightforward process. Jim is a fantastic scene partner. I always feel very safe with him. And Debbie [Allen, who directed the episode], the way that Debbie really just let us do what we needed to do allowed for all elements to really coalesce. And I haven’t seen it, [so] I hope that it comes across on screen. But on the day, shooting that was lovely.

Do you have a favorite memory from your time on the show?
I don’t know if I’m gonna have an opportunity to talk about what I will miss about Stephanie, is that okay? I’m gonna miss — wow, I didn’t expect this. I’m feeling emotional now. Need to go grab some Kleenex. I think I’m just gonna miss her willingness to go the extra mile for what she believes in. I think it’s a quality that has been there from day one. I was thinking about this a few weeks ago, and something I remember from back in Season 9 is the way she really rallied Leah and Joe when Shane was going through a hard time. She told them not to give up and that we are all a part of this together. … I think that she has such great fortitude and empathy and brilliance, and she’s just, I think, for all of the folly of youth that she has, she’s such a wonderful person. I was friends with her, and that’s a great compliment because I choose friends carefully.

Can you tease anything about your HBO show?
I will say this: Five years of working in Shondaland makes me nervous about teasing things. I think I can, but all of my instincts in my body say, “Keep your mouth shut,” and I’ve gotta work on letting go of that. But it’s a really wonderful new project. It’s a new drama from Alan Ball, who is a phenomenal writer. And I will say that we’ve already started working on it, and it’s genuinely been a gratifying, collaborative, generous, and welcoming experience, and I feel so fortunate. I used to say, all the time, that being welcomed into Shondaland felt like winning the lottery, and I still feel that way. And now, moving from there to this, I don’t even know what’s beyond the lottery.

Even though you’re leaving, do you have any intel on “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14?
I literally have zero idea, and I have not asked because I don’t work there anymore. When I worked there, I would ask all of those questions, and now that I don’t, it’s a beautiful mystery.

Your name: submit What is this?

Dean’s life was quick and slow all at once.

It was quick, jumbled movements, from town to town, school to school, motel to motel. It was quick thinking and plans changing and punches thrown and bullets fired and stabs avoided all in a single instant.

It was slow, agonizing nights, weeks- months even, where he stayed up night after night waiting to hear from his dad, or when he couldn’t sleep because it wasn’t safe, and he had to watch over Sammy. It was long car rides, where the landscape stretched on for hours, dull and monotonous as it flew by his tired eyes, desperate for something to catch his interest.

And it was somewhere in between this muddle of quick and slow, fight and flight, hope and despondence, company and isolation, that Dean had fallen in love.

He wasn’t quite sure exactly when it had happened, and he hadn’t even noticed it until he was in too deep.

“Dad I can help.” Dean implored but his father ignored his son’s pleas.

“No, Dean. This is too dangerous. You’re not experienced enough.”

“But I am, I’ve been going on hunts, and I’m really friggen’ good, you know that! I don’t want to just wait around like some baby!” He exclaimed, and Sam cut his way into the conversation,

“Hey! I haven’t gone on any hunts. I’m not a baby,” He said, offended. Dean rolled his eyes.

“Stay out of this Sammy. And yes, you are.”

   “Hey-”

“Dad, just, just let me come with you. I wanna help kill the sonofabitch-”

“NO, Dean. It’s too dangerous, you’re not skilled enough, and I have no idea how long it’ll take. You’re going to stay at Uncle Bobby’s. That’s an order.” his voice was stern, commanding. Deans appeals silenced and he shut his mouth, straightening his back, dropping his arms to his sides defeatedly.

   “Yes, sir.”

“Dad, I can help!” you laughed half-heartedly trying to shove Bobby off to the side and out of your way.

“You just called a spanner a socket. I ain’t lettin’ you near this thing until you know what you’re talkin’ about,” he said, turning back into the engine tightening something out of your view. You laughed, giving him another shove.

You were currently working on your future car- a gorgeous, 69’ 429 Boss Mustang. Well- as gorgeous as you could be after sitting in a salvage yard under a tarp for 16 years. You’d found it while exploring out back when you were a little younger, out at the very back of the yard. You’d immediately ran back inside, asking if you could have it. You were 13 then, and Bobby had laughed at first, saying you wouldn’t be driving for a long time anyways. After a couple days of begging and whining and pulling at his sleeves, he caved, but he made you promise you’d work on it for as long as it took until she was mint. You did so, eagerly, wanting to restore such a beautiful piece of machinery for your own as soon as possible.

“Oh please, you know I know what I’m talking about. So my words got a little mixed up! It happens to all of us- you especially, old man.” you joked, and he turned back to scowl at you.

“Oh, don’t pretend you don’t know. You’re like a million, or something.” You rested your hand on his shoulder, gazing up at him with an exaggeratedly fake sympathetic stare.

“Hey, it’s alright to let go. You’re time’s passed, make room for the next generation, paw-paw,” You said, and Bobby seemed like he was almost actually offended. Almost.

“Paw-paw-? I’m forty-five, ya’ idjit,” you snickered as he chided you. “I’ve still got plenty of time in the spotlight, thank you. And, I could ground you, talkin’ to me like that, you know.” He joked, and you chuckled, snatching the socket wrench away from him playfully, rolling your eyes.

“Oh, I’m sure you will. Now get outta here, gramps. The kids have got this covered.” You said, and he huffed, though a smile couldn’t help but pull at the corners of his lips.

“Fine, but you be good to her. No mixin’ any parts up.” He said, wiping the grease from his hands on an old rag as he made his way back inside. You laughed, shaking your head, joking.

   “Yes, sir.”

The Impala’s wheels skidded to a halt in front of Bobby’s house, and John glanced back at his sons behind him.

“You boys be good, you hear?” He watched as they hiked their duffels onto their backs, hopping out of the car. “That means you, Dean,” He continued, and his son nodded.

“Yes, sir.” he responded, and Sam nodded beside him.

“Yes, sir.” he mumbled, softer than his brother.

And without another word, John was off.

Dean sighed, glimpsing over at his little brother, who was watching the car intently. His gaze strayed from his brother to the old house behind them.

They hadn’t been to Bobby’s in about a year now, and though he’d never admit it, Dean missed the old coot.

“Come on, Sammy. Dad’ll be back in a month or so, but uncle Bobby’s gonna take care of us until then. It’ll be fun.” speaking, half to Sam half to himself. Sam remained silent, reluctant.

After a moment, he nodded, picking his duffel bag up and making his way towards the house.

They didn’t bother knocking. Bobby knew that they were coming.
“Bobby! We’re here!” Dean called, dropping his duffel by the door.

   “Bobby-?”

“Hush! I heard ya the first time, ain’t gotta keep yelling.” Bobby said, emerging from the office. Dean chuckled, shoving his hands in his pockets.

   “Sorry, Bobby.”

   Bobby shook his head, snickering.

“Ah, shut up, it don’ matter. C’mere, boys.” Bobby said affectionately, yanking the two of them in for a hug. “It’s been a while,” Bobby said, pulling back, his hands resting on their shoulders.

“Yeah, I know. But we’re back now, at least for a couple months. That’s what Dad told us.” Dean said, and Bobby nodded, following him into the kitchen.

“Yeah, your father’s got a real big lead. Some demon case down in Alabama. He’ll be back as soon as he can, the man’s a great hunter.” Bobby praised, and Dean smiled sadly.

"Yeah,“ He began, his voice soft, "the best."

"So,” Sam cut in, clearing his throat, “can we get settled? It was a long ride, and I’m kinda beat."

Bobby nodded. "Course. Usual room, boys, you know the drill. Go on, get comfortable. You’re gonna be here for a while, might as well."

Dean and Sam both picked up their bags, making their way to the room they stayed in every time they came to Uncle Bobby’s for an extended stay.

Their room was upstairs, at the end of the hall across from the stain glass windows, just diagonal to Bobby’s room. It wasn’t much, just two beds, on either side of the room, two nightstands, two dressers, a bookshelf- the basics. Dean flopped down onto his bed, his was in a small nook, closest to the (only) window, and tossed his duffle bag onto the floor next to him.

Sam, however, set his bag down quietly, unzipping it and beginning to place his belongings neatly in his space. (The book he was reading on the nightstand, his clothes in his dresser, etc. etc.)

Dean sighed, making himself comfortable, reaching under the mattress he was lying on and pulling out a slightly out of date skin mag. Sam groaned.

"Come on Dean, seriously?” he accused, but Dean just grinned at him.

"What? Come on Sammy, like you said, it was an awful long car ride, and that waitress at the diner we stopped at was pretty smokin’-“

"Oh my god, stop talking. Please.” He zipped up his now empty duffle and tossed it impatiently under his bed. “I’m leaving. I’ll be in the kitchen if you need me, though… please don’t.” He said, and Dean laughed as Sam made his way out with a huff.

"Come on Sammy, I was only kidding! I mean, she was hot, but I would never do anything with you here!“ Sam just mumbled a quiet ‘ugh’ shutting the door behind him, and Dean couldn’t help but giggle.

"Aw, poor kids so sensitive.” He whispered to himself, joking.

He sat there for a while, flipping idly through the magazine, staring half-interestedly at the pictures of topless women he’d seen so many times before, now tired of the repetitive figures. Damn, he needed some new shit.

Finally succumbing to his boredom, Dean stuffed the magazine back between his mattress and his bedframe, and made his way out of his room, wandering idly through the quiet halls. Sam was downstairs, probably getting a snack, and Dean assumed Bobby would most likely be researching in the office. Naturally, Dean needed to find something with which to occupy himself.

He took a left, making his way down the hall to a room that he thought used to be a dining room. It now housed endless crates and shelves full of books, herbs, and jars of unknown substances that Dean wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole. It also happened to hold the ladder to the attic.

When he entered, to his surprise, everything was unexpectedly organized.

The shelves were all in order, the jars were now labeled, the crates stacked neatly, and the room was easy to navigate, most notably there was now a clear pathway to the usually surrounded ladder (which could also be mistaken for an extremely steep staircase, since it was quite sturdy and connected to both floors).

Confused, Dean climbed his way up the creaking wooden steps hopping up onto the wooden attic floor.

Even more bewildering than the before, was the attic. What once housed the oldest, most obscure books, tools, and ingredients, that Bobby owned now was completely void of clutter. It currently looked liked what seemed to be a teenager’s… bedroom?

   The fuck?

Dean ventured further, glancing around the room. It was clearly the room of a teenage girl- posters adorning the walls, accessories hanging, and clothing and shoes in the open shelving against the attics fence. The posters varied- from AC/DC and Metallica to Captain America and Lord of the rings. There was a stack of books on the nightstand by the bed, and many more scattered throughout the room and on the shelves. There were plenty of plants and candles, as well as a string of fairy lights strung across the walls, and a desk in the corner.

   What. The. Fuck.

Dean didn’t know what to think. Bobby’s attic had suddenly been transformed into what seemed to be the bedroom of a teenage girl. His brow had remained stubbornly creased, and he made his way back downstairs, glancing back into his room as he made his way.

Sam, it seemed, had returned, and was now fast asleep on top of his bed. The kid wasn’t lying, he was beat. Despite his confusion, Dean didn’t want to wake him, so with light footsteps, he made his way downstairs to ask what the hell he’d just seen. Bobby wasn’t in the office like Dean had expected, and with Sam sleeping upstairs, he didn’t want to go yelling around the house. Instead, he continued to snoop around quietly, eventually making his way to the garage.

Dean skidded to a halt once he arrived, eyes landing on a halfway beaten muscle car. Then, with ever growing confusion, his gaze drifted to what was under it.

A girl. A girl who was talking to herself- or rather- to the car.

He listened to her intently, straining his ears over the sound of her boombox, which was playing his favorite Led Zepplin song.

“Come on Sexy, I know you can do this. I believe in you, old girl, show me what’cha got. Come on… Dammit!” The sounds of the car sputtered to a halt, and Dean heard the girl hit the bottom of the car frustratedly. It began revving up again a second later.

“Come on, sweetheart, you got this… Yes! That’s my girl!” The engine revved to life, and the girl underneath the car celebrated. Finally deciding to try and figure out what the hell was going on, Dean spoke up.

“You call your car Sexy?” He asked, and the girl scoffed, picking up a wrench from next to her.

“Well, yeah. That’s what she is. Might as well call her that.”

Dean laughed, nodding. He was thoroughly confused, but he liked this chick. She had good taste in music and good taste in cars. Maybe she was cute, too, at which point he’d be golden.

“Fair enough.” He said, and she reached out from under the car, grabbing for her socket wrench. It was just out of her reach, though, and Dean crouched down, picking it up for her.

“Who are you, anyways?” she asked, and Dean smirked, holding out the wrench to her. He wanted to know the same thing, but he’d answer her since she got to the question first.

She slid out from under the car as he spoke.

   “Dean. Dean Winchester.”

Your fingers slid over his just as the mystery boy came into sight, wrapping around the wrench that he held out to you.

Both of you let out a breath like the wind had been knocked from your lungs.

“Whoa,” you sighed. You couldn’t believe you’d just ‘whoa’d’ at someone out loud, but my god this boy was pretty. Those lips, and that jaw, and those eyes- Dean chuckled, cutting into your thoughts.

“Hi there.” He breathed, before flashing you a deliciously mischevious grin. If you weren’t sitting on a creeper you were sure your knees may have buckled. Jesus, you’d just barely met the boy and he was already making your head spin.

“Are you… planning on telling me your name?” He asked, and your eyes widened realizing you’d been staring.

“Oh- oh right!” you made to jump up so that you were standing, but your creeper skidded, and you stumbled forward instead, falling right on top of 'Dean’, who fell backward with you, the wrench you’d both been holding clanging to the floor.

“Whoa there, easy tiger.” He laughed. “You alright?” he wondered, and even though you hadn’t sustained any physical injuries from your fall, you couldn’t say the same for your dignity. You’d have to say no, to that one

“Uh, yeah- yeah! I’m fine, sorry. Jesus.” you lied, pausing. You let out a breathy laugh. “I’m, I’m Y/N, by the way.” You said, and Dean grinned below you.

“Hi, there Y/N. I’m ‘awfully close for just having met’.” He joked, and your eyes widened as you realized you were still lying nearly completely on top of him. You jumped up quickly, this time remembering how your legs worked and standing easily.

He followed after you easily, bouncing to his feet effortlessly, laughing.

“Oh my god I’m- I’m so sorry I have no idea what’s going on right now, I’m not usually so…”

“Adorable?” He asked, and you felt your cheeks flush. “Don’t worry sweetheart, I’m used to beautiful girls falling for me.” He joked a shit-eating grin spread across his cheeks. It took you a minute to bounce back from “adorable”, “sweetheart”, and “beautiful” all at once. You had to hand it to him, the boy was smooth.

Once you had recovered, though, you couldn’t help but burst out in laughter.

"My god- How many times have you used that line?“ You questioned, and he snickered, almost embarrassed, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Just about every time I’ve been tripped on. So like, twice- but you gotta admit, that’s good shit.” He said, which only caused you to laugh more.

"I haven’t decided yet. It’s either terrible or amazing.“

"I say amazing.” he grins and you roll your eyes.

"You would,“ you chided, and he sniggered.

“That’s fair,” he said, raising his arms in surrender. It was then that you remembered he was a strange boy. In your house.

“So, as much as I’ve loved introducing myself to you from under a car and then falling on top of you… who the hell are you?” You asked, crossing your arms as you did. Dean raised his eyebrows.

“See, I was fixin’ to ask you the same thing, honey,” he said and you quirked your eyebrow at him.

“You’re in my house.” you said, and deans eyes widened, for a moment, before narrowing again, like something had clicked in his mind, but was quickly followed by even more questions.

“So that’s your room upstairs?” He asked, and you rolled your eyes.

“No that's Legolas’s room. Yes, that’s my room- wait, why the hell were you in my room?-” You stopped abruptly, remembering something. “ -ohhh. Right. Shit. You’re Dean.” You repeated, emphasizing his name as though it had just revealed all of the answers to your confusion.

“You’re Y/N.” Dean mocked, though he was mostly confused.

“Dad told me about you two- your brother’s, Sam, right?” you asked, and Dean nodded, no less confused than before.

   “Yeah. But how did you…?”

“Bobby- he told me you two were coming. I completely fuckin forgot. Shit. He said a hunter friend of his was dropping off his sons sometime while he went off and they’d be bunkin’ with us for a while. But that was- what? A fuckin’ week ago? How was I supposed to remember?” You said, more to yourself than Dean.

“I… don’t understand. Who are you exactly?” He asked, and you rolled your eyes.

“I’m Y/N. My parents passed away a couple years back,” you paused, swallowing. “anyways, they were real close with Bobby, so he took me in. He’s like a second father to me. I’ve been living here for a while now.” You said, and you watched Dean’s face as everything seemed to snap into place all at once for him.

   “Oh,” He breathed. “I’m sorry.”

You smiled softly, playing with the hem of your t-shirt.

“Eh, it’s fine. It was a while ago.” You answered. Though you didn’t particularly sound fine, Dean and you had only just met. It wasn’t his place to press. “Plus, Dad’s- I mean, Bobby’s good to me. He’s family, I mean, I call him ‘Dad’ for Christ’s sake.” Dean chuckled.

“Yeah, I know the feeling,” he said, trailing off.

Like he’d said. You’d just met. He wasn’t going to start spilling about how his father feels like more of a drill sergeant than a father, and Bobby felt more like a dad than John ever really did, and how he has to take care of his little brother more than himself, and he never really got to have a real childhood because of it, and now he already has this impossible weight on his shoulders-

   Yeah. No.

“Anyways, I’m gonna be here for a couple months at least, guess it looks like you and I are gonna be spending quite a bit of quality time together.” He said, and then the motherfucker winked.

“This is one beautiful car you’ve got here.” He complimented, changing the subject before you could snidely respond. You sighed. This, you could talk about. The two of you turned to take a look at the engine, the hood still propped open.

“Thanks,” you beamed. “I found her out back under a tarp. Bobby had just… left her there! She was a bit rusted and beat up when I found her, but she had most of her original parts. I’ve been workin’ on her for about 8 months on and off now.”

  Dean let out a whistle.

"You must really know your way around a car.“ He said, and you smirked.

"Yes, sir.” Dean turned back to the intricate mechanics, rolling up his sleeves

“May I?” he asked, nodding to the cars engine. You hesitated for a moment.

“I don’t know, do you know your way around a car, Winchester?” You quipped, and Dean grinned coolly.

He would never admit it, but he liked it just then when you gave him the impromptu nickname of his last name. He wasn’t completely sure why, but he liked how familiar it made the two fo you sound.

“Like the back of my hand, sweetheart. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of her.” You squinted accusingly at him.

“Hmm… fine. But be very careful,” you squinted accusingly at him. He laughed

   “I’m watching you.”

Just an hour later, the air between you and Dean had completely changed. As it turns out, bonding over something you’re both passionate about- in this case being cars- is a really good way to become comfortable with someone really quickly.

I mean, you weren’t in love or anything, but the body language and the way you spoke to each other was already significantly different than it had been just barely 60 minutes ago when you’d first met.

Dean was a flirt, you’d learned. Even more so than you anticipated. He liked making sly comments and flashing winks whenever the opportunity arose. He had good taste in music, a lot like yours (though yours was much broader. Sure you loved classic rock, but not only classic rock), and you both loved cars. He was clever, charming, and just a little bit cocky. You liked him. A lot. It was odd, actually, how much you liked him, and how effortlessly and comfortably you talked to him for how little time you’d spent with one another. Something told you the same went for him.

But you wanted to get to know him more. More than, however productive it may feel, 62 minutes can accomplish.

You didn’t know how long he was staying, or who he was, not really. But you were determined to figure him out before he left. However long that took.

anonymous asked:

can we get some angsty and/or fluffy karchie headcanons pls? (i live for ur headcanons lol)

Anon I’m SCREAMING I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Damn omg you got it pal, Kevarchie coming your way. (Also I apologise for this being so fucking long I just had so many Ideas)

- It’s some unspecified future time. Kevin and Archie are living together, with Jughead too. Kevin and Archie are boyfriends and they both have qpr’s with our aroace Jughead.
- It’s their anniversary. They decided years ago that they’d take turns of who planned it each year, it’s Kevin’s year. He takes Archie to that new superhero movie he’s been dying to watch, then up to the observatory hill after grabbing some food to star gaze.
- Kevin’s watching Archie beaming in the moonlight, happily stimming as he talks about his favourite parts of the movie inbetween bites of ketchup dipped chips and he’s struck by the thought that he wants to marry this man.
- Kevin’s driving them home, one hand on the wheel, the other in Archie’s hand. Kevin laughs at one of Archie’s stupid jokes while driving under a street lamp, the warm yellow lighting up his face. Archie’s struck by the same thought; I want to marry this man.
- Kevin always has to leave early for his shifts at the hospital as a nurse so it’s just Archie and Jughead sitting at the table eating breakfast.
“Jug, I… I want to propose to Kevin.”
“Okay. Figured out how yet?”
“Wha-? No I- Jug-”
“Arch, I love you, and I love Kevin too. But I don’t love you guys the way you two love each other. I know you both love me. If this is something you want, go for it. There’s nothing in your way.”
- They get a few minutes together when Kevin gets home from work, but Archie has to run off to a gig that night and then it’s just Kevin and Jughead.
“Juggie?”
“Yeah, what’s up Kev?”
“I want to ask Archie to marry me. Just want to make sure that’s okay with you.”
Holy fuck, Jughead thinks, a grin spreading across his face but not for the reason Kevin thinks.
“Totally okay with me.”
- The next few months are Stressful™. Archie is running around behind Kevin’s back trying to create a perfect proposal, Kevin is running around behind Archie’s back trying to create the perfect proposal. Jughead is laughing to himself eating cereal in the background.
- But it wears on them. They’ve both pulled away from each other and neither can figure out why the other would do that. It’s been five months since their anniversary and Archie realises they haven’t even been together since then. Nothing beyond couch cuddles and kisses on the way to work, no more than an hour or two at a time.
- Archie freaks out, stress stimming all day in their room until Kevin gets home. “I miss you.” He whispers, the tightly squeezed play-dough in his hands giving away how anxious he is.
- Kevin’s shoulders slump, because he’s been freaking out about the same thing for about two weeks now. “I miss you too.” He says back softly, walking over and taking Archie in his arms.
- They talk it out, both of them knowing how busy they’ve each been now. They both take the next day off to just be with each other again. It’s the most relaxed they’ve been in months, and Jughead feels a little bad for not noticing sooner. But they’re happy now, kissing his cheek or squeezing his shoulder every time they pass by to get more tea or snacks.
- Tour season for the band starts up again in a month.
- Kevin: “I’m finally gonna propose after their first concert on the tour.”
Archie, fifteen minutes later: “I’m gonna propose to Kev after our first concert.”
Jughead, eating cereal: “This is gonna be so fucking funny.”
- So the concert has ended, Kevin’s out on stage congratulating his boyfriend, nothing out of the ordinary with that.
- Then Archie grabs the mic again, he’s blushing and shaky and stuttering. “Uh, Kev, there- there’s um. Something I wanna ask you…”
- Kevin knows this Archie. This was the Archie that approached him when he was questioning, who asked him out for their first date, when they first came out, and he’s PISSED
- “Oh hell NO!! There’s no way you’re asking me first!” Kevin yells, scrambling in his pocket for his ring.
- Archie catches on and instantly drops to his knee, scrambling for his own box.
- They both yell “MARRY ME, YOU DORK!” And “MARRY ME, DAMNIT!” At the same time, kneeling and holding their rings out at each other.
- Jughead is laughing so hard he’s fallen to the ground clutching his sides
- Archie takes a moment and just looks at the sight in front of him. The love of his life kneeling and offering him his heart. He can’t help but beam, placing the ring he’d bought down and holding out his left hand for Kevin. “Absolutely.”
- Kevin melts a little bit, sliding the ring onto Archie’s finger only to watch the redhead melt completely. He blushes darkly right to the tips of his ears, sinking all the way to the floor as he stares at the ring, his free hand flapping.
- So Kevin laughs softly, heart bursting with love for this man. He grabs Archie’s ring himself, noting that they matched (bc of course Jughead made sure they matched), and sliding it onto his own hand.
- When he gently tips Archie’s head up to show him the ring on his own hand, Archie tears up and starts flapping both his hands, before Kevin pulls him into a hug and the hands end up clutched in Kevin’s sweater.
- They have a long, long night together, and are woken much sooner than they’d like by heavy binders being dropped on their chests.
“Let’s talk napkin colours.”
“Veronica it’s six am.”
“You were in New York last night.”
“I’m thinking some soft blues and yellows, a real summery feel.”
- Jughead makes waffles for breakfast as an apology for not stopping Veronica on her way in (Though he’s not completely sorry bc his boys are most adorable when sleepy).
- About a month after the engagement.
Archie: “You know I’m surprised Jug never figured out we were planning the same thing.”
Kevin: “What??”
Archie: “Well, I told him how I was gonna propose to you.”
Kevin: “What the fuck?? I told him how I was gonna propose to you too!”
Archie:
Kevin:
Both of them: “JUGHEAD!!”
Jughead: drops his spoon into his cereal “I suddenly remembered I have to leave right now immediately.”
