“But I found my sweet escape when I’m alone with you” - 5 Seconds of Summer

I imagined this graffiti-ed on a wall somewhere. I’ll gladly get arrested vandalizing a wall just for this.

Note: I just edited the street art/ graffiti while the actual drawing is the work of the brilliant @upthehillart .

While I agreed with Hermione wanting the better treatment of House Elves, I think she crossed the line when she began to hide clothes for them to find. Dobby told her about how hard it was for a free elf to find work, and only Dumbledore was willing to take in both him and Winky. She deliberately ignored him even although he directly told him what happened to them and saw how Winky was suffering.

I've been thinking and the more i do the more i feel like draco shouldn't have been a slytherin, but instead a Hufflepuff. He doesn't really cunning, he's not particularly clever, the only time he ever shows ambition is when he's doing something he thinks would impress his father. Which is why I suggest hufflepuff. He is so loyal to his family he would do anything to try and uphold their status and impress them.

Come to think of it, I agree! Hermione would’ve been a better Slytherin than he was.

a conversation between the golden trio
  • harry: should i do the thing?

Draco has one last chance to confess to Hermione the day before her wedding 😊

Well this got sad, I love dramione but having Hermione paired up with Ron was hard bc I never had to write Ron and Hermione *sigh* sorry for the sadness

Ginny ran out the doors shouting at her first born James as he clutched at her best friends’ veil in his hand thinking it was his fathers invisibility cloak.

“James Potter, you give that back this instant.”

Her shouting can still be heard, as well as Harry telling his wife to not do anything rough with their second child months away from his birth and her telling Harry that she’s pregnant not fragile.

Meanwhile, Hermione stood in the middle of the room while her mother and Molly finishes the final touches.

“Oh, sweetheart.” Jean Granger sobbed.

“Mum, please don’t cry. You’re going to make me cry as well.”

“Sorry sorry, you’re just so beautiful. Here you are after what had happened to your father, standing here ready to be married with your love.”

Hermione frowned at that statement.

“Dad should’ve been here.”

“Yes, he’d love to take you down the aisle and see his daughter off wouldn’t he?” She sniffles.

Jean walked towards her daughter and straightened the folds of her dress.

“Molly. can I have a few minutes alone with my daughter?”

“Oh Jean, she’ll be my daughter as well. I’m sure I can stay and listen to what you have to say to our dear ‘mione.”

“Please Molly.”

“Alright alright” she finally said as she left the room.

“I’ve never liked that woman.” Jean sighed. “Now Hermione, are you alright with this

“Mum of course I am. I’m going to marry the man I love.”

“Sweetheart, I’m not talking about Ronald.”

“He’s made his choice and I agreed to it.” Hermione sighed as she played with the sequins on her dress.

“From what I can see, you loved him more than you love Ron. He was going to propose you know.”

“He was?”

“Mhm. He came visiting home and asked for your hand.”

“Well, I’m glad he didn’t ask because that would’ve been a great mistake I would’ve made.”

“Honey, he’s the one who made a mistake. He let one beautiful and brilliant woman go.” She placed a free hair out of Hermione’s face back to her ear.

“It’s nearly time. We should get ready.” She stated to her mother so she could stop talking about the past.

“Of course.”

Hermione stood as she looked at the floor length mirror on her left. She was taken back to a flashback when Malfoy and her dated a few years ago.

She was about to visit his manor when a blonde woman who seems to be a few years younger than her, had the door opened by Winston, Draco’s personal house elf.

“Is Draco here?”

“Master Draco is not be expecting you missus Greengrass.”

“Well, it’s a surprise then.”

“Winston cannot.”

“Well, Winston. Once I’m mistress of this manor, you’re the first elf that’ll have to go.” Greengrass stated as she turned and left.

Hermione then took her turn and knocked on the door.

“Winston cannot let missus Green- Missus Hermione!” Winston squeaked.

“Hello Winston.” She smiled at the elf.

“I sorry. I thinked you were missus Greengrass.”

“It’s alright. Is Draco in?”

“Yes, Winston will get him for you.”

Hermione had let herself in, then heavy footsteps can be heard along with voices.

“You let who in? Winston, you’re new but I’m sure you’d know not to let anyone that’s not pureblood into this manor.”

“But it’s missus Hermione. You always have missus Hermione in.”

“That never happened. Who else was here before the mudblood.”

Hermione stood shocked.

“Master Draco has never called missus Hermione that and you must not missus Hermione is here.”

“Winston I’ve called Granger that many times and it isn’t going to stop. Now, who was the other person before Granger?”

“Missus Greengrass,!master Draco.”

“Astoria?” He questioned.

“Yes. Missus Geengrass had asked to come in but I says that you were not expecting her.”

“Winston. Astoria’s my girlfriend why didn’t you let her in?”

“But missus Hermione is your girlfriend.” Winston knew she would be let go if she talked this way to her master but she liked missus Hermione better than missus Greengrass.

“Tell Granger to get out.”

“Now Winston.” He demanded.

“Yes, master Draco.”

“Draco.” Hermione had stood silently behind Draco, listening to their conversation.

“Granger. What are you doing in my manor?”

“Don’t play games with me Draco Malfoy. I’m your girlfriend, not Astoria Greengrass.”

“You eavesdropped, did you? That’s not very Gryffindor at all. To be honest Granger, I’d never go out with you.”

“Don’t play with me Draco. We’ve dated for four years. Is this how you break up with your exes by playing games with them?”

“I’m going back to bed, Winston, when Tori comes here again tell me.”

“Yes, Master Draco.”

“And Granger, you can leave now with this awful joke of yours.”

Hermione tried to hold her tears back as she left his manor. Then a few months later, printed in front page of the daily prophet was titled ‘MALFOY & GREENGRASS TO BE MARRIED NEXT SPRING’

Hermione then realised that what they have never happened. So she packed everything she had of him and called Blaise to give it back to his friend.

Ron had asked her out, everything went well again. It wasn’t until the next two years later when he proposed. Hermione said yes and the wedding was going to be in the middle of May.

Hermione was taken back to the present as she was told she had a visitor and he was very persistent on meeting her.

Jean declared that preparations were complete as Molly and her left the room to check outside the venue.

“Granger.” Draco Malfoy stepped in the room.

“Malfoy, what is it that you want?”

“I’d like to talk to you alone.”

“Well go ahead.”

“I, no, Astoria-”

“It was a very nice wedding Malfoy, you and Greengrass looked very happy.” Hermione interrupted.

“No, that’s not what I’m here to talk about.”

“Then what do you want to say?”

“After I’d gone back to the manor, my mother had questioned why I married Astoria and not you.”

“Because we never happened.”

“No- well yes actually. I told her that we never happened and that I loved Astoria.”

“Where are you going with this Malfoy? I have a wedding to get to.” She asked as she doesn’t want to relive the pain all over again.

“What I’m trying to say is that I was under the love potion and that broke when my mother had exclaimed that I might be under a love potion. So she had me checked and memories of our breakup came and I was too late. I-I, Hermione I’m here to say that we were happy together and it happened all too late, our break up was three years ago, and now you’re going to marry Weasley.”

“My mother told me you were going to propose.” Hermione clutched at her dress.

“I was. I wanted a family with you, but after I was told by Blaise that I broke your heart and that I should leave you alone, I was jealous that you were happy with someone else, someone that’s not me. So,” he took her hand in his, “I’ve dreamed of you looking like this, the wedding dress, you happily radiating, yet nervous but, but…”

“But what, Malfoy?” Hermione mumbled, confused.

“Don’t call me Malfoy please, just call me Draco.”

“Okay, Draco.”

“I’ve always thought it would be because of me.” He whispered, his eyes going down eyeing the brown carpet.

His rough fingers, that she remembered a long time ago from his loving touch on her arm, curling on her hand.

“I could have made you happy, but I was weak and Weasley took you from me, you-you look so happy that I just couldn’t let you go anymore, my heart hurts, and I’m sorry Hermione.”

“I was gutted that you went back to your Hogwarts years. Calling me a mudblood an-”

“No. Don’t don’t call yourself that. You’re not. Not a mud-”

“No, I am, and I’m proud to be one.”

“I love you, Hermione, ” Finally, he looked up at her with a shaky smile, a few tears in his eyes. “and as it hurts to do so, I’ll be glad to see you off with him.”

Hermione’s eyes burned with tears, heart aching because of the pain she went through. She swallowed through the lump in her throat and tried to speak, but, Draco stopped her with a kiss to her forehead.

“Don’t let those tears fall down, Hermione. I hate making you cry.”

“I love you too Draco Malfoy, you’ll always be a part of my heart.”

“And, I you. Smile Granger. It’s your happy day, after all.”

Draco finally saw one last smile from his past lover and caught her as she hugged him with everything she got. He shoved his face to her hair, regretting that he let her go. He’ll never see her again, never feel her fingers running through his hair as he lay in her lap. He let’s go and looked at her face one last time.

“Goodbye, Hermione Granger.”

Rereading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: Chapter Twelve - Silver and Opals

blah blah blah i suck at posting chapters in a timely manner blah blah blah

- so basically, dumbledore keeps leaving for days and harry feels abandoned. oh and theres a hogsmeade weekend. you’re all caught up.

- harry is such a dork sitting in bed reading his textbook on the weekend. WHAT A LAME-O

- ok but like how stupid is harry to be testing out the prince’s made up spells? DID YOU LEARN NOTHING FROM RIDDLES DIARY?????

- harry thinks the half-blood prince might be his dad and i wanna cry

“I just think it’s very irresponsible to start performing spells when you don’t even know what they’re for, and stop talking about ‘the Prince’ as if it’s his title, I bet it’s just a stupid nickname, and it doesn’t seem as though he was a very nice person to me!”
“I don’t see where you get that from,” said Harry heatedly. “If he’d been a budding Death Eater he wouldn’t have been boasting about being ‘half-blood’, would he?”

1. THANK U HERMIONE I AGREE!!!! 2. anyone else find it hilarious at how hard harry is defending snape lol just me? ok

He felt suddenly light and happy. “Want to join us in Hogsmeade, Ginny?” he asked.
“I’m going with Dean - might see you there,” she replied, waving at them as she left.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

ok but on the real, am i the only one who found the harryxginny plot kinda random? like harry literally shows no interest in her until this book??? am i right or am i wrong idk lemme know

- slughorn keeps asking out harry and its started to get awkward swerving him

- OMG HARRY IS CHOKING OUT MUNDUNGUS FOR STEALING STUFF FROM SIRIUS’S HOUSE wow this shit is crazy why is no one stopping him from committing murder

“Ron, what are you staring at?”
“Nothing,” said Ron, hastily looking away from the bar, but Harry knew he was trying to catch the eye of the curvy and attractive barmaid, Madam Rosmerta, for whom he had long nursed a soft spot.
“I expect ‘nothing’s’ in the back getting more firewhisky,” said Hermione waspishly.

- ok this scene with katie flying in the air after touching the cursed necklace is freaky as fuck. this is some grudge shit and i dont like it. i came here for fun wizarding antics not to pee my pants

Hagrid stared at Katie for a second, then without a word, bent down, scooped her into his arms, and ran off toward the castle with her.

hagrid, our hero.

seriously tho someone give me a book JUST about hagrid and what he does all day plz

- friendly reminder that jk rowling introduced this cursed necklace FOUR BOOKS AGO YALL. woman is a genius.

“I think Draco Malfoy gave Katie that necklace, Professor.”
On one side of him, Ron rubbed his nose in apparent embarrassment; on the other, Hermione shuffled her feet as though quite keen to put a bit of distance between herself and Harry.

LOL ron and hermione are me af

Ron and Hermione exchanged looks that plainly said There’s no point arguing with him.

HAHA literally the fucking savagest best friends anyone could ask for.

I was surprised to see Hermione as secondary Ravenclaw, got to be honest. I always think of her as secondary Slytherin. She has a particular brand of ruthlessness (DA SNEAK etc) and an ambition to be the best. I also think of examples like going out with Cormac to get revenge on Ron/make him jealous? I don't know, just my thoughts :) x

Kat: Two things here: first, we should probably take a second to emphasise the difference between a primary and a secondary. Because the ambition bit would fall under motivations, which is part of the primary. And even then, Slytherins aren’t the only ones with ambition! Ravenclaw Primaries have ambitions toward knowledge, Gryffindors have ambitions toward doing the right thing (in a way that can make them great activists), and even Hufflepuff Primaries can have ambitions toward fairness (or whatever else they’re interested in— nursing, caring, building, managing a billion dollar company…). All of the houses can have goals, and drives, and ambitions. Slytherin’s ambition is notable not in force so much as in focus: ambition for the sake of ambition, climbing for the sake of climbing, power for its own sake, with happiness and success as a fundamental goal. And I don’t think Hermione wants to be the best just to be the best. She wants to be the best because she’s proving something, and wants to succeed academically. Not that Slytherins can’t share those goals, because they can, but my point is that those goals are in no way inherently Slytherin.

Second, you can be sneaky and ruthless without being a Slytherin Secondary. You can be a Slytherin Secondary without being sneaky and ruthless, too! The defining point of the Slytherin Secondary is adaptability, which yes makes them, as a house, better than average at being sneaky, but there are ways to be sneaky that aren’t based on that type of adaptability. Both times, when Hermione organized the DA and when she went out with Cormac to make Ron jealous, those were planned types of sneakiness and ruthlessness. Calculated. She plotted and prepared instead of twisting meanings and manipulating. Very Ravenclaw Secondary.

Inky: Yes, Hermione is fascinatingly close to Slytherin. That ruthlessness is something Gryffindor and Slytherin share best—though they’re as likely to conflict over that as to bond with it. And her drive and ambition outshines nearly every character in the books. She’s whip-sharp and morally complicated and I love it.

If you’re using secondary to mean “second most likely House’ I agree entirely. While Hermione is a shining example of a Gryffindor willing to do anything for what she thinks is right, whether it’s House Elves or defying Umbrage or saving the world, Hermione could just as easily be a Slytherin who has decided the entire world is her responsibility. She is driven, loyal, makes hard calls and lives with them. The question is: is she saving the world because it’s the right thing to do or because it’s hers?

(I err towards assuming her Gryffindor nature, because that’s how the narrative presents her, but wow would I love to read about Slytherin Hermione Granger who chose Gryffindor House in order to best achieve her goals).

But the way we’ve been using secondary on this blog means something a little different. Your primary House informs why you do things—moralities, priorities, loyalties, drive. Your secondary is how you do things—methods, means, tools, skills. By that definition of secondary, what I think you’re arguing here is actually that Hermione is a Slytherin primary.

Ruthlessness (do the ends justify the means?), ambition, her reaction to Marietta’s betrayal, her jealousy over Ron—these are Hermione’s drive. This is what she chases after and how she defines her goals. This is her deciding what to feel guilty and what to feel justified about.

The way she achieves those goals (her secondary), I think, really is Ravenclaw. She studies. She researches and prepares and packs a library to bring on their book seven roadtrip. When she is thrown into a whole new world at eleven, the first thing she does is read every book she can get her hands on. A Ravenclaw secondary is not defined by intelligence (though she’s certainly intelligent) but about the valuing of knowledge as the most useful tool to solve problems.

She has some aspects of a Gryffindor secondary’s forward, honest bravery (though I think that’s just her primary leaking over loudly), but I’d say Hermione displays very little of Hufflepuff’s harmonizing secondary with its emphasis on fair play and I’d say she shows hardly any of a Slytherin secondary’s reactive adaptability. A Slytherin secondary (in the way that we use the term) goes with the flow, or shifts the flow to suit them. In uncertain situations they look for power sources, for escape routes, for leverage and potential, and they maneuver and mold their presentation to achieve whatever it is they’re after, whether that’s safety or an empire.

So I’m still rather invested in Hermione as a Ravenclaw secondary, but you have greatly piqued my interest in the idea of a Slytherin primary living in her ambitious bones. Thank you!

Harry Potter Imagine - Fairy Tale

Could you write an imagine with Harry where the reader doesn’t talk much in class, but he’s curious to get to know her, so he starts talking to her and finds out that she’s actually really nice, and even jokes around and gets sassy at times? Eventually they become pretty good friends, and start to develop feelings for eachother, but he doesn’t know how to ask her out so he goes to Ron and Hermione for help? - requested by anon

It’s funny because this is a Harry Potter imagines blog and this is the first Harry Potter imagine I have written in a while…..

Anyways, sorry it’s been so long.  I’m kind of a mess right now what with school and college applications and color guard.  I’ll be on for a while though, so if anyone wants to talk (also I’m still doing that ask thing if anyone is interested).

I sat in the middle of the classroom - third row, far right side - as usual.  We didn’t have assigned seats in any of my classes, (guess the teachers thought we were old enough now to handle ourselves) but I always sat in the same place.  I didn’t stand out in class like the kids who sat in the front or the back, and that was the point.  Also, it provided me with a great view of Harry Potter.

Harry Potter - The Boy Who Lived, but he was so much more than that.  He was loyal, kind, handsome, and sassy - not that I’d ever talked to him.  He usually sat in the second row, behind Hermione and next to Ron, but today, he was somewhere different.  Harry was sitting right next to me.

xxxx Harry’s POV xxxx

I couldn’t help but notice y/n y/l/n sneaking glances at me every few minutes.  I caught her eye as she looked over and she blushed and turned away.  It was a shame; I’d only sat over here to talk to y/n, but it seemed like she was too shy to talk to me.

I bit my lip and turned to her, not pausing to think about my words.  “y/n, can I borrow a quill?”

She looked at me timidly, then raised an eyebrow.  “Do you honestly think that I can’t see your quill in your bag?”

I cringed.  “I’m sorry.  I don’t really need a quill; I just wanted to talk to you.”

y/n turned to look at me full on for the first time since I had walked in to the classroom.  “Talk to me?  Why?”

     “Why not?”

     “You should’ve just said so.”

xxxx y/n’s POV xxxx

A few weeks went by, and Harry and I were talking daily.  We were teasing each other, joking like old friends, even going so far as to prank Fred and George.  It was wonderful - I was actually comfortable around him.

     Well, mostly.

I wasn’t really over my crush, but being Harry’s friend was much better than staring at him instead of taking notes in class.  But every once in a while, there was an awkward moment when I was caught off guard by his attractiveness, like the morning of his Quidditch match against Hufflepuff.

He strode in to the Great Hall wearing his Quidditch uniform and I felt my heart skip a beat.  He tugged on my braid as he reached around me for a huge blueberry muffin.

“Hey Harry,” I said, praying that my face wasn’t turning red.

“Are you going to the game?”

“No,” I rolled my eyes, “I’m staying in to study.  I’ve just been itching to write that Potions essay.”  He swept his hair out of his green, green eyes and I lost my train of thought for a moment.  “Of course I’m going, Harry.  I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

“Great,” he said through a huge bite of muffin.  He tugged on my braid again and strode back out of the Great Hall.

Maybe it was just my imagination, but I thought he had a bit more spring in his step than when he came in.

xxxx Harry’s POV xxxx

Initially, all I had wanted was to get to know y/n.  But the more I had talked to her, the more I had liked her.  y/n was friendly, sweet, and much more sassy than I had realized initially.

It only took me a month to realize that I was in love.  I was just too scared to say so.  Apparently, it was obvious.

“Bloody hell,” Ron told me one day as y/n walked away, “Just ask her out already!  I’m sick of watching the two of you pine over each other!”

“For once,” added Hermione, “I agree with Ron.”

It took a lot of convincing, but eventually, Ron and Hermione persuaded me to ask y/n out.

xxxx y/n’s POV xxxx

When Harry asked me out, it was like the perfect ending of a fairy tale.  He whispered it in my ear as he hugged me, and for a moment, I was too shocked to reply.

When I got my breath back, of course I said yes.

I know there’s a common consensus that, if they weren’t in Gryffindor, Harry, Ron and Hermione would be in Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw rescpectively.

Unpopular opinion: I disagree. Although I agree that Hermione would be in Ravenclaw, I think Harry would be Hufflepuff and Ron would be Slytherin.

Think about it. Sorting isn’t about what you do, but your motivation behind why you do it.

Ron’s whole life has been trying to meet the expectations that have been set before him. Bill, Charlie Percy, Fred, and George are all tough acts to follow. Ron’s always trying to prove himself. In the mirror of Erised, he saw himself achieving great feats, gaining loving admirers. Slytherin.

Harry, on the other hand, just wants to be normal, just wants to be happy. He doesn’t want the fame, attention, or responsibility that’s been thrust upon him. He just wants the whole war to end. He just wants equality and justice and peace. Hufflepuff.

  • Hermione: If two thousand years of-- of wizard history has taught us anything, it is that there's karmic justice in the world, and that when people live the way you do, bad things have to happen to them to even things out!
  • Draco: Well, I don't agree.
  • Hermione: It's not up for debate! It's a... law, like gravity!
  • Draco: .....What's gravity?

Hey, can you do Harry, Ron and Hermione riding the skeeter's article?

“I mean, you’ve got to admit that that was an excellent catch,” Ron said, still raving about the match several hours later much to Hermione’s amused exasperation. “The Brazilian team were better overall, I thought, but you’ve gotta admit, he’s still got it, old Krum.”

“‘Old Krum’?” Hermione laughed. “He’s only three years older than you!”

“More like four. He’s a September birthday, and I’m March, so…” Ron shrugged. “But the point is: I was supporting Brazil and I think that, overall, they were the better team. But he is certainly the better Seeker.”

“The best Seeker in the world,” Hermione said, as they made their way through the crowds.

“Well, I wouldn’t go that far,” Ron said, reaching out to steer Hugo, who had become rather entranced by a Curupira, in the right direction. “But he was better by miles than Silva. And I’d like to see him against the Arrow’s Seeker, Meddleton. He’s surely the best in the League by a country mile at the moment–not that I’ll forgive him for that match against the Canons last month…”
