hoLY SHIT I LOVE YOUR FANFIC. I READ YOUR KAZ/INEJ FANFIC AND DIED. I'M DEAD. THE FEELS KILLED ME. SO NOW I'M DESPERATE. CAN YOU PLEASE WRITE A KAZ/INEJ FANFIC? Btw: You're amazing.

Hi! Thank you for your kind words, they mean a lot (plus you’re also pretty amazing, too ;) I did write a better (and longer) version of this earlier but I accidentally deleted it (much to my anger), but here’s what I have: Crooked Kingdom ended happily, and the Crows are setting off on their own personal journeys.

When Nina had told Kaz that Inej’s ship would be docking at noon the next day, he froze. When Nina had told Kaz that if he wasn’t there to meet her she’d kill him he unfroze and chased her out of his flat.

Now it was half past noon and Kaz was still sitting behind his desk.

He could bear Nina’s anger but he wasn’t sure if he could bear Inej. Kaz had done many things in his life. He was well aware of the fact that the blood on his hands could make the devil shudder and the enemies he’d made was enough to create an army, but he was also well aware of the fact that Inej was everything that he didn’t deserve.

Of course he’d wanted to go. To see her face again, to see her impossibly dark lashes and elegant hands. To see the girl that had nearly been his undoing. Instead he was gripping the edge of his desk with his own gloveless hands, staring off into the distance, feeling a sense of great regret grow by the minute. Kaz was now sitting in the highest position one could get in his crowd, feared and respected by all of Ketterdam. Nina and Matthias were planning a trip to Ravka later on. Jesper and Wylan were living together and working to create a way to help scholars who had trouble reading, writing, or learning in general. They were all on their way to success, they were no longer being chased by Van Eck or Pekka Rollins (who had both been gotten rid of). Jurda Parem was now tightly controlled by the right hands, never to damage any Grisha again.

Why did Kaz still feel so damn empty?
