Spritz skin with a hydrating facial mist before applying moisturiser, you'll use less product and get more hydration.

What’s In My Bag: School Edition

I’ll be starting poly soon so I guess it’s appropriate to make this post now :3

  • Anello Bag (Navy/White) - Got this classic sized one online (with a sale and discount coupons ;3) and honestly this bag is 💯 💯 💯  Mainly because it doesn’t look fat BUT can hold a shit ton of stuff so 👍🏻
  • Lined Notebook - For notes since I can’t write straight on blank paper
  • Blank Notebook - random doodles.
  • Emergency Kit - Plasters (a whole variety), Panadol, gastric pills, comb, hair ties, bobby pins, hand cream
  • Umbrella - Singapore’s weather is unpredictable and if it rains I don’t want to be stranded or soaked
  • Water Bottle - Hydration is a must
  • Body Mist - No horrible body odour 👋🏻
  • Sweets - I’ll fall asleep or run low on sugar some days without it
  • Phone + Wallet + Earpiece - MUST HAVES

Side note: I carry my Macbook separately in a laptop case and occasionally might bring along a book :) + I bought sketchbooks post orientation

// rose hibiscus //

Ok I feel like I’m just obsessed with rose but like… it’s so good for your skin??

This is a hydrating mist I used after doing my whole skincare routine. You can literally feel it seep into your skin and I swear it is so refreshing. My skin feels so soft and full of moisture all day and I’m in love.

anonymous asked:

yooooo! i also live in a very humid and hot country (philippines sigh) and i use the celeteque sun care matte moisturizer and its like 230 pesos here but idk in your country sweetheart, is using the kojie san soap alone then ice as a skincare regimen okay? also, do you have any recommendations for a good toner and face masks?

I’m not from the Philippines but Kojie San is also sold in my country. Idk your skin type but my sister who has dry sensitive skin used the soap and she found it too harsh for her skin (she literally said it caused her irritation), so i think you might want to try something more gentle for your cleansing routine.

I’ve never heard about the Celeteque moisturizer (or is it sunscreen?) before but imo you need a lightweight moisturizer, preferably in gel consistency e.g. Muji Sensitive Skin All In One Essence or Bioderma Hydrabio Serum. If your skin needs extra hydration, face mist could be your lifesaver because it’s very practical and often available in travel size so you could carry it everywhere (i love Avene Eau Thermale). Lately ive been trying the “7 skin method” and surprisingly it works wonders in tropical climate.

Toner recommendations:

  • Muji Light Toning Water High Moisture. I loooove this so much. Muji’s sensitive skin line is actually pretty good and the price is on the affordable side. I’m using this toner for the “7 skin method”.
  • Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion (the white bottle) and Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion Premium (the yellow bottle). Both are good toners. The only difference is the premium one has thicker consistency (like a syrup) so you only need 2 drops of it for your entire face.
  • Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner
  • Cosrx AHA/BHA Clarifying Toner

Masks recommendations:

  • Honestly i rarely put on sheetmasks because many sheetmasks from korean brands caused me whiteheads :( So far the ones that don’t give negative reactions to my skin are My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid and Lululun Moisture Mask (the pink one). I’ve heard so many good things about Mediheal masks though.
  • Menard Pack Aserie Clay Mask (!!!)
  • Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask
  • Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Wash-Off
  • Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Mask

Another alternative is creating your own mask by doing “chizu saeki method. You could use the peelable cotton from Muji, which can be peeled into 4 thin layers. The toners i’m using are Imju Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner and Cezanne Skin Conditioner High Moist. Both are very thin / lightweight (very water-like) and also very cheap (around $7 for 500 ml).

So tldr if you don’t have specific skin concerns, cleanser(s) > toner > moisturizer > sunscreen and occasional mask should be okay.

The BCBG Max Azria Marie Skirt

I love pleats. I love how they feel, how they flow and undulate like a living thing when you move. I love it especially when it comes in amazing color-blocked foil chiffon that shimmers and reflects between bronze, silver, rose-gold..

Strange thing about the skirt is it looks dark and - dare I say - a little weird when you lay it out. It only “comes alive” and catches the light in its folds when you wear it.

This time of year, many parts of Asia are in preparation for the Spring festival; it’s our holiday season. And it’s tradition to arm ourselves with an arsenal of new clothes (and for me, great makeup) for luck and prosperity in the new year.

So I have my metallic Marie skirt, Burberry Lip Velvets (Fawn, Military Red and Black Cherry), clutch-size Tom Ford Lips & Boys lippies for tucking into crowded purses (Leonardo is a fave), MAC’s surprisingly good Chinese New Year “Year of the Rooster” eyeshadow x 9 palette, and Dame blush.

Not to forget a soothing hydrating mist from SK-II when the weather here turns stinking hot.

I thought I’d go first to get you all acquainted with how this works. Maybe it’ll make ya’ll feel more comfortable? Even though I know this is sort of a crazy thing to do for most people.

My name is Kayla. The first photo is literally me 5 minutes ago as I search through Tumblr on my laptop. No makeup, no face products at all. I haven’t showered today (blame the insane migraine I’ve been having for 2 days). I have dry/sensitive skin. Right now I’m struggling with small bumps appearing along my cheeks and jawline. Maybe you can see it in the photo. I find that a mask usually helps though! My best makeup tips is to use a hydrating mist. This is a must-do for me because of my dry skin. One of my favorite tips that took me a long time to learn… use your brow product in short, quick strokes. This is crucial for a natural brow. The second photo is obviously me with a full face of makeup. As you can see, my skin looks so much healthier! Beauty Blender is my fav for applying foundation. I use fluffy brushes for both contour and blush.

Anyway, I hope you decide to join me and post your own photos! I posted some guidelines a little bit ago so you can find out how to get your photos and entry to me :)

Keep your cool with these invigorating tonics.

We’re in the dead of summer—and the heat is on. So, there’s no better time to add a little refreshment to your skin care routine. For a burst of moisture at any time of the day (and especially during peak ray-blasting hours), keep a face mist handy. These wonders are known to prime, balance, and hydrate your complexion. They can even be used over makeup. Like a botanical garden in a bottle, face mists contain lush ingredients and soothing aromas that make them a coveted beauty staple. Below, The Sephora Glossy rounds up the newest editions for your perusal. JESSICA VELEZ

If you love to be surprised with a bouquet of roses…

Try: Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist Intense Limited Edition - Bloom

Like a special flower that only blossoms once a year, Jurlique’s bestselling deluxe Hydrating Balancing Mist Intense is back for the fourth year in a row. This year’s focus is to “Bloom Where You’re Planted,” a nod to the Chrysalis foundation that uplifts women and children globally, which 5% of each purchase will benefit. Infused with five different rose essences, this uplifting mist conditions, soothes, and balances skin—so you can feel good from the inside out with this purchase. The limited-edition faintly ombré bottle is so lovely, you’ll want to keep it on your vanity long after you’ve sprayed every last drop.

If you like to add cucumbers to your drinking water…

Try: Josie Maran Nirvana Hydrating Treatment Mist

Light and fresh, this mist recreates the spa experience anywhere you go by giving the same benefits as a steam session, plus an element of aromatherapy thanks to the geranium and cucumber fragrance. And, if you love the line’s other skin care products, you’ll be pleased with the treatment mist, since it also contains Josie’s signature hydration-rich Argan oil. What sets it apart? Not only does a single spray soothe, moisturize, and prep your complexion, but it also manages to exfoliate dead skin cells. The glass bottle adds a final touch of luxury.

If you look forward to weekly farmer’s markets…

Try: First Aid Beauty Vitamin Hydrating Mist

It will be hard to believe that you’re not standing in the middle of the earthy-meets-sweet produce aisle of your grocery store when you use this mist. Like fruits and veggies, First Aid Beauty’s hydrating spray comes chock full of humectant vitamins that will produce a reawakened complexion. Also mixed in the formula is an antioxidant booster containing licorice root, Feverfew, and white tea that gives aging free radicals the boot. The overall formula is like a skin-saving salad for your face that you can take with you everywhere.

If you like to add lavender oils to your bath…

Try: Kate Somerville Hydrating Firming Mist

On top of all the other reasons we love face mists (a boost of hydration, makeup setting, and refined pores), Kate Somerville is giving us another game-changing benefit: firming. Blue-green algae extract tightens up skin’s appearance for that desired supple look. But, the reason we really can’t get enough is its soothing scent. The lavender-orange combination will melt away your troubles, so keep it at your desk to instantly de-stress and fight aging with a one-two spritz.

If your dream brunch table arrangement includes peonies…

Try: L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Mist

Peonies are hands down the most adored spring flower (one need only scroll through their Instagram feed for proof) and it’s the star ingredient in L’Occitane’s texture-refining mist for good reason. A unique genus of the flower, Paeonia lactiflora to be exact, is specially cultivated on a French farm for its notable complexion benefits. The pretty bloom’s extract visibly corrects and refines skin, plus provides up to eight hours of hydration—a.k.a your work shift. If all those benefits alone aren’t enough to make you spray-happy, the candy-sweet scent will do the trick.
