Huwaida Arraf, co-founder of the International Solidarity Movement blocks IDF soldiers from shooting at protesting Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, saying “You’re shooting at kids, don’t you understand that? Just pull back!“
Huwaida Arraf is a Palestinian-American lawyer and activist who speaks out against violence and co-founded the International Solidarity Movement, which advocates non-violent protest in Palestine.
After graduating from law school, Arraf’s career began in 2000 as a program coordinator for Seeds of Peace - a US non-profit that brings children from regions of conflict to a summer camp in Maine, then gives them support after they return home.
Two years later she married Adam Shapiro and together they founded the International Solidarity Movement.
Arraf also works with the Free Gaza Movement, which sponsored the Gaza Freedom Flotillas in 2008 and again in 2010, when the flotilla was invaded by Israeli commandos.
She continues speaking out and working for a peaceful solution.
