humanity as plague

For Kids!

Also WTF happened 300 years ago???!!! Was that when the Lich came back and Billy had to fight him??? It wasn’t the mushroom war since that had been over for nearly 1000 years by this point in the story so what the heck happened?

Les Catacombes - Paris 2012

400 ft below the surface of Paris exists one of the scariest and coolest places on earth.  The bones of over 6 million people are still interred here.  Now they are organized and placed respectfully, but in the beginning the officials of Paris were just cleaning up the surface of the city by dumping the remains from full graveyards into the old rock quarries that built the city.  Spooky!  Great place to pop the question to your girlfriend!

All of the photos in this set were long exposures with no flash.  If you ever get to go, don’t forget the remote and/or tripod!

SilverClaw

For @sterekwritingroom‘s spinoff headcanon event: What would I do if I had the rights to Teen Wolf after the finale?

I’d love to say I’d do a reboot, starting from scratch and just doing the series my way. Unfortunately, I’d pretty much have to cast new actors in the roles because of aging, and no one else can be Stiles and Derek, so that’s out.

So what would I do with a spinoff?

SilverClaw. Also known as: Derek Hale and Chris Argent’s supernatural detective agency.

Because, think about it. Here are two men from vastly different backgrounds, with different skill sets and knowledge, but ultimately the same ideologies and the same deep, awful understanding of betrayal and loss. And who, most of all, have also formed a strong (grudging?) undeniable respect for one another. Their upbringings would lead them to approach each situation in a different way, allowing for conflict, compromise, and creative problem solving that would be so interesting to watch. And beneath the surface there would always be the old hatred between their families, between their core identities of wolf and hunter. And how beautiful would it be to see them looking past that week to week and protecting each other, no matter what?

The hunter with a code, and the predator who’s not a killer.

They’d help supernatural beings and humans plagued by them alike; there’d be background arcs of hunters or wolves trying to pull at their allegiance, pit them against each other. And we’d fret and they’d strain but ultimately they’d never break because they’ve grown into the bros to beat all bros and I just…

It would be Angel meets… well, Teen Wolf, and it would be absolutely epic.

I would need Stiles to join them in some context eventually, though I strangely like the idea, at the start, of him being an occasional guest star. Someone who floats in for a few episodes a season when his FBI investigations cross paths with SilverClaw’s cases, or they need him just because he’s Stiles. Maybe I just like torturing myself, but the thrill of his guest appearances would be epic, and his romantic tension with Derek –– up until the moment they finally get together before having to part ways again, playing things long distance until Stiles finally gets fed up with government bureaucracy and quits, joining them full time –– would be highlights of each season. And can you imagine the tug of pining when he’s gone, the sparks of chemistry and the will they won’t they get their shit together (but yeah spoiler alert they absolutely will because endgame).

But the week to week of Chris and Derek, hunter and wolf, Argent and Hale, would be such an amazing spinoff.

Plot of Versus XIII aka how Final Fantasy XV was supposed to be

These are taken from a Japanese forum and for what we do know about the plot (like Prompto and Gladio betraying Noctis). Fleuret siblings in this case mean Stella and Ravus. (the previous plot reveal to FFXV was hoax)

————————-

-Noctis was going to die too, but In a more symbolic manner, He dies on his throne like if He was going to sleep (reference to somnus)
- Prompto and gladio would have betrayed Noctis at some point In The original triology, prompto because niflheim and his dad, verstael ( who was a very bigger antagonist ), gladio did it because He did approve noct as a friend but not as a king. ( like In xv)
- cor dies in The last game In Noctis arms, saying he is proud to see how He has grown up, He was also The driver with The mustache In The eralier trailer. He is an orphan, He immigrated in lucis.
- Regis dies at The end of The first game. His killer is named below.
- Stella would have lived, but not In a very good health, she is not The main antagonist of versus xiii, her parents were killed when she was a child. Her brother became a double spy for The lucis/tenebrae alliance and niflheim ( more precisely ardyn ). She suffered a near death experience, The high ranking officer In charge of her tried to kill her by orders
- There was FOUR major villains In versus XIII : Ravus in The first game, Verstael In The second game, Ardyn ( who was named arden In this time ) In The third game. Clarus amicitia ( The original who was named Noctis evil uncle by fans In e3 2013 ) was The one who killed regis and permited niflheim to secretly organise an invasion, because jealousy and consider his friend as an egoistic king ( reference to glauca )
- Ravus was more calm and used magic from tenebrae, he was blind because he could see the dead like noctis but didn’t support it, He is The final boss of The first game but dies In The second game, stella kills him, without knowing it was him under The hood, because of Ardyn.
- Verstael was The most dangerous villain of versus xiii. He is obsessed with The powers of The royal blood. He used human test subjects from annexed nations of solheim and tenebrae. He infused his son prompto with magitek but it was a failure so he left him. He makes prompto betray The group and blasts some of insomnia with a magitek blast. When Ardyn kills onscreen iedolas In gralea, verstael becomes The new ruler of niiflheim, He makes experiments on both Noctis and prompto to recreate one of The being that created eos but this monstrosity kills him, this thing is The final boss of The second game, and prompto dies at The end of this battle. It’s later revealed that He made a magic pact with Ardyn. Like Ravus.
- iedolas had a more important role since The peace treaty was an In game scene. He also bullies Ardyn In one scene, Noctis help The chancellor, but this was a ruse from him, playing The victim.
- Gladio takes a shot from his father destined to noctis. Noctis then kills clarus. The scene from first trailer from 2006 take place after this scene ( third game )
- Aranea had The same script, basically anti heroic, and guest character
- Gentiana had a completly different role, she was THE oracle from versus xiii. She is eventually stella close friend. She is revealed to be a descendant of The real royal bloodline making her ancestor eos. She is shiva’s reincarnation. Her outfit was not The black dress she has now. Her design was more samurai-ish.

Ardyn was not meant to be a former king of lucis, In The first game, He doesn’t have much screentime, we know only his name and position, and that He has a funny side, In The second game we see him as The real cause of Stella position against Noctis : He manipulates both Fleuret siblings because they have a magical power of light capable of countering lucis clan powers who are said to be Fueled from darkness. He also kills iedolas detonating a hidden flare spell In his gun. His motives are only revealed In The third game : He is The “first being created” by etro who was tasked to guide humans to peace. But they were always Fighting for power, so He created darkness to maintain a balance and gave it to gentiana’s ancestors, who were superior beings (Summons). But a lucis caelum Fell In love with one of etro’s daughters, thus making The Current bloodline. It was originaly a ruse from The lucis caelum clan to retrieve this power from The summons. The mastermind was arden because He judged that He deserved this power more than humans. This created The plague of stars. Etro punished him and He was outcasted from godhood, living now among humans for eternity…

His Current goal In versus xiii is to make The lucis caelum and Nox fleuret ( who holds The power of light only secretly revealed at The end ) fall to bring chaos, and make etro waking up from her slumber to kill her with The crystal, created by etro, which is a catalyst of The plague of stars, an epidemy born of this unbalance, which enlighten The nights, makes humans more agressive and Sensible to their emotions, then turns them into Demons.
Ardyn Will turn into into his original form in The final fight ( human size ), The battle is almost like The current final battle.
Then He kills offscreen etro who is sleeping with Stella as her Bost ( logo) and fuses with her skull (lucian Crest). Ironically, Ardyn, blind In his rage, forgot that He wanted to die before all, Noctis grants his wish with The last level of his power which his to teleport souls to kingdom of dead.
Stella is saved, but she becomes depressive after Noctis death.

Fate of The characters :
Noctis dies ( weakened and by his own Will )
Gladio dies ( by clarus )
Prompto dies
Ignis lives. Also He is The only one who stay 100% loyal to noctis.
Stella lives
Ravus dies ( by stella )
Regis dies ( by clarus )
Cor dies ( by ardyn )
Gentiana lives and become shiva though it’s implied that astral are meant to disappear at The end of The triology.
Ardyn lives in The kingdom of dead
Iedolas dies
Verstael dies
Glauca dies In a boss battle. He was already a Lucian traitor In armor. But He was not drautos. ( kingsglaives existed but not at all like now )
Aranea lives
Cid and cidney lives.
Weskham existed already and dies In versus xiii
Noctis mother was named in The triology as aulea lucis caelum. She is alive in The kingdom of dead.
Iris was not as important as now. She was also much younger.
Loqi, Nyx, Dino, Drautos didn’t exist until 2011.

Gameplay :
- summons : ifrit ( solheim, traitor summon ), leviathan ( accordo ), bahamut ( niflheim ), fenrir ( tenebrae, He is only The emblem He doesn’t appear ingame ), shiva ( another unamed asian-like region ), ramuh ( another unamed region ), carbuncle, titan.

- gralea is explorable, it’s inspired by manchester. Solheim has arabian like locations. Accordo is linear. Insomnia palace is The final dungeon.
- Stella becomes playable after prompto death
- The ring didn’t exist ( or at least not as a ring ) so ring magic didn’t exist.
- no outfits and DLC. No manual driving. No regalia type.
- no timeskip

The Shooting Star

A/N: Oh boy, here we go. This is my first entry one-shot for @doodledrawsthings human bill AU (which they helped edit and illustrate). For those not familiar, it’s an AU based on the Flat Dreams lore by @pengychan, basically a “what-if” scenario of Bill coming back during the Pines Twins second summer in Gravity Falls. If you’re unfamiliar with it, CHECK OUT THEIR PAGE. WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE. Hope you enjoy this one.

part 2

part 3

“And this is the time DipDop and I were voted Best Dynamic Duo! Man, I can’t imagine not having my bro to count on!”

“Can we do something else.”

“Nope!”

The occupant of the kitchen chair groaned loudly, burying his face in his arms. “Tell me, Shooting Star, is TORTURING ME with POINTLESS HUMAN SENTIMENTS glued onto pieces of colorful paper some kinda elaborate revenge scheme you’re executing?”

“First, they’re not pointless. I’ll have you know I worked very hard on each of them! And second-” Mabel jumped up from her chair and smacked Bill lightly across the face. The demon recoiled with an half-annoyed half-startled snarl. “You’re being a jerk! So you get a frowny-face sticker.”

Bill slowly pried said sticker off his cheek, slowly ripped it in half with a disturbing satisfaction, and tossed the remaining pieces on the floor, his eyes never leaving Mabel’s. The demon silently got up, fixing the girl with a sneer before turning to leave. Well, that could have gone better.

So I’ve been pretty gung-ho on meta and vocal about Sherlock theories for the last three days and I gained 52 followers from doing so, which goes to prove there are many people out there who are looking to research meta and talk/read about this kind of stuff even though the theory community has greatly diminished or quieted since last year at this time. I remember gaining over a thousand followers in the week after The Final Problem just because so many new people went “wait a sec, something’s wrong, I’m suspicious now too, let me in” and that’s the time when the older meta community started itself on fire. We assumed theories were over just because some of ours were. That is definitely not the case. All these months past series 4 and still new people are going “wait a sec, something’s wrong, I’m suspicious now, too” and they’re coming with theories we’ve also worked on, all of us simultaneously uncovering similar things. This is a PSA alerting everyone that there are a LOT of people out there with that nagging sensation in the pit of their stomach, that even though it may seem only 500 people care about this topic, there are many, many more people than that hanging on the edges of this conversation. The original content I create is 95% subtextual fan theory and 5% fanfic and I have almost 18,000 followers. I could be wrong, of course, I could have only 500 Sherlock followers and 17,500 porn blogs following me. You never know.  But the point of this is no one is following me for things other than theory. It would be maddening putting up with my content solely for the non-theory stuff I reblog or the once-in-a-blue-moon fanfic I write. I used to get messages from people who refuse to follow me but love reading theory so they keep my page bookmarked so they don’t forget to refresh it every once in a while. “Thanks?” I would say. To each their own.

Sure people might not be as loud or as excited or as certain now as they used to be, but that is directly related to the aura of the fandom. I’ve had at least 9 people tell me that my last few days of excitement has made them excited, which goes to show many people are just waiting for the fandom aura to stabilize before letting themselves be vocal about the things they like again. Because after series 4 we as a group became a snarling, viscious monster that didn’t allow anyone to like anything ever again. For me that walking-on-eggshells period is over. I came here to have a good time, and the best fandom time for me was August 2016 – February 2017. The theories were wild! The memes! Oh, the memes! It was like watching the world spontaneously combust with thousands of your closest friends waiting to find some humor in it. It was like confidently going into battle with your comrades by your side and then watching the opposing army unexpectedly mutate from their human form into a plague of flying cockroaches. Some of your friends ran, some shielded you, some got out super-soakers full of bugspray, but 100% of us went “what the FUCK is happening?!?!”. Those six months were the most fun I’ve ever had.

Tl;dr There are more people out there than you think who like BBC Sherlock, who like hashing out theories, and who are ready to fling themselves back into the fray.

Wednesday Addams is not my friend. Wednesday Addams is a monster. If Satan himself crawled out of hell, landed on Earth and vowed to destroy all of humanity with a fiery apocalyptic plague, Wednesday Addams would f*ck him in the ass with his own pitchfork until he bled out and died. And if that doesn’t paint a clear enough picture, I once saw her watch an entire sneezing panda video without cracking a smile once!

Even While The World Suffers, Investing In Science Is Non-Negotiable

“Although our space program seems to lead us away from our earth and out toward the moon, the sun, the planets, and the stars, I believe that none of these celestial objects will find as much attention and study by space scientists as our earth. It will become a better earth, not only because of all the new technological and scientific knowledge which we will apply to the betterment of life, but also because we are developing a far deeper appreciation of our earth, of life, and of man.”

Every so often, the argument comes up that science is expendable. That we’re simply investing too much of our resources — too much public money — into an endeavor with no short-term benefits. Meanwhile, there’s suffering of all kinds, from poverty to disease to war to natural disasters, plaguing humanity all across the country and our world. Yet even while there is suffering in the world, investing in our long-term future is indispensable. This story is nothing new. Back in 1970, shortly after the first Moon landing, a nun working to alleviate poverty in Africa, Sister Mary Jucunda, wrote to NASA, and begged them to stop this frivolous waste of resources, and instead to use their funding for the benefit of humanity. The letter made it all the way to Ernst Stuhlinger, then the Associate Director of Science at NASA. Stuhlinger’s response was all at once compassionate and convincing, and helped convince Jucunda — as well as skeptics everywhere — of the value that science has to offer.

Come see the full story, and read Stuhlinger’s complete, original letter, on the non-negotiable value of science to our world!

Shall I tell you what sociology teaches us about the human race? I’ll give it to you in a nutshell. Show me a man or woman alone and I’ll show you a saint. Give me two and they’ll fall in love. Give me three and they’ll invent the charming thing we call “society”. Give me four and they’ll build a pyramid. Give me five and they’ll make one an outcast. Give me six and they’ll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they’ll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home.

My dream show would be dragon tales except that u made it

Two kids enter a world of dragons to escape from human life, but after the glitz and glamour of Dragon Land fades as they get accustomed to it they realize The land is a  corrupted world under the thumb of reptilian lords and all the ills that plague human life, in a dimension with physics and mathematics incomprehensible to the human mind.

They also learn that the the human Earth and the known universe is but the dream of a great coiled serpent that all of Dragonland rests upon. Anything in Dragonland that rings familiar and like their life back on Earth is only cause Earth is a hollow fabricated memory and an incomplete recreation of the world of dragons.

The kids, when the weight of Dragonland gets too harsh, can retreat back into the “real world”, but the world true to them is but a temporary dream and a false image of reality. When the world serpent wakes. All of humanity will exist as only forgotten thoughts and memories of the serpent, and all of Dragonland will be crushed under the Immense being’s coils as it tries to ascend elsewhere.

prompt: Simon is not comfortable when someone touches him but for some reasons he is when Raph touches him and everyone notices it

Magnus was the first to notice. It was a small touch on the shoulder and Simon had flinched away from him, yet here Simon sat pressed against Raphael’s side, their hands interlocked as they carry out a very intense game of numb wrestling, when they had gotten this close, he didn’t know but he wasn’t going to question it, they both looked happy.

Alec was the second person to notice. He wasn’t close to either one of the vampires but he’s been around Simon enough to know that the fledgling avoided human contact like the Black Plague. Yet he stayed plastered to his clan leaders side. Barely inches apart. Alec noticed the the fond look on Raphael’s face when Simon was yapping on about something no one was interested in hearing about. It was a familiarity he knew well.

Luke hadn’t noticed it was too late and he hates himself for it. He tells himself he should have known, should have been there for Simon. It pained to watch the kid he sent hours teaching to drive, the kid that planned Saturday movie nights, pull away from his touch but easily embraced Raphael. But yet, Luke felt reassured, there will always be someone there for Simon.

Clary was perhaps the last to notice. Naturally she blamed the hierarchy of the shadow world for the distance between them. A vampire and a shadowhunter could not be best friends no matter how much they tried.
Though Clary failed to realize that the relationship she shared with Simon had completely crumbled until one night when her best friend laid battered and covered in blood and dirt.

“Simon, Simon I’m here” she cried and crunched down besides him. Her hands inches away from his face when Simon batted it way.

“Magnus” His eyes searched for the warlock among the group of shadowhunters. “Raphael?” He asked when Magnus pushed pass Jace and Aldertree.

“He’s coming, let me look after you until then” Magnus gracefully stooped besides Clary and went to work on sealing Simon’s cuts.

Clary silently cried, not at the sight of her best friend winching but by the fact that every time she reached for him, he jerked his hand away from her.

“Simon” Raphael called and pushed his way through the cluster of shadowhunters. He fell to his knees and Simon opened his arms for Raphael to hoist him off the floor.

“Lets go home” Simon said in a bare whisper and Raphael nodded.

Clary cried into Jace’s arms as she watched her best friend walk away, his fingers intertwined with the only person he’s let get close to him.

Why are so many people hostile to reformed theology? Because reformed theology has a fundamental banner over everything that we say: "God is sovereign, I am not.” What has plagued humanity since the very beginning is this—we think we’re sovereign. It was the lie that got Satan cast out of God’s presence, it was the lie that got humanity cast out of the garden, it’s the lie that we embrace all the time—that we’re the sovereign and we will determine. Here’s the truth: you’ll never be the sovereign in God’s universe, He is; and nothing will ever change that. I believe with all of my heart that one of the main reasons people resist reformed theology and the doctrines of grace is because fundamentally we don’t like the idea of “God being sovereign over me.
