Stretch For As Long As Possible

Stretching out your relaxer is one of the best ways to avoid damage, over-processing, losing elasticity, or losing pH balance. Another advantage will be the visual aspect. When you decide to stretch out your relaxer you will be able to clearly see the difference between new growth and relaxed hair. This area between your new growth and relaxed hair is better known as the “line of demarcation”.  Being able to see your roots will allow you enough room to apply the relaxer onto your natural hair without overlapping or over processing previously relaxed hair. Typically women use relaxers once every 6-8 weeks. However, its best to try to stretch your relaxer for at least 12-16 weeks, if possible, to avoid unwanted damage or breakage.
