700+ follower appreciation!

Good ol’ Annie’s hit 700 followers! As an appreciation to all of my followers, I will be doing either a promo graphic or fifteen icons on a first come first serve basis! I will try to get to all of them, but I can’t make any solid promises given that college is starting back up for me. I’m capping promos at fifteen and icons at ten.

If I have ALREADY made you a graphic within the past TWO MONTHS and the information is still accurate (url, indie/affiliated, etc.) then please do not ask me for a new one this session!

All promos will be gif promos ( examples here, here, and here ) and all icons will be raw (no psd, so you can put them through whichever you choose) 100x100, animated or real life. If you want gif icons USING your psd (in case you are unsure of how to apply it to a gif icon) send me your psd and I will apply it for you.

Thank you all so much and I appreciate your kindness and support!

Ommg...your gifs looks always so pretty!! This is probably too much to ask,it's been a while since I ask myself, how you manage to match the colors in your gifs set ? mine always does not work, and be ugly! Can i help me with that, please ?

Thank you! I don’t know your skill level, so I’m not sure what advice to give, especially since I can’t see your gifs, but if you peruse my /tagged/minepsd, you can download psds I’ve made and see the types of layers I use in my colorings, it’s a lot of the same basic adjustment layers in all of them. I’ve posted some explanations here and there, too.

I’m happy to do a tutorial, but only for someone off-anon - otherwise it might be mostly useless to you! Things like how familiar you are with adjustment layers, color masks, blending options, etc.

gif tutorial: dark colourings

I was asked by a lovely anon to do a tutorial on how i colour my dark gifsets! I am by no means an expert AT ALL as I still have lots of room for improvement, but i hope this will still be of use to people. I’ve already pre-surface blurred and pre-sharpened these gifs and I’m basing this tutorial off the psd I used in this gifset

  • This is not a gif tutorial, just a colouring tutorial
  • Knowledge of PS and gif making is needed as I will not be going over the basics
  • Links will be in a [ ]
  • I will not be releasing the psd i used, but you can follow the tutorial to create the same one (might be released in a psd pack in the future)
  • Please like/reblog if you find this useful c: I would really appreciate it!

how to recolor gifs

Hello, everyone! As requested by a lovely anon, I’m here to teach you how to fix whitewashed (and poorly colored) gifs. I’m doing this in Photoshop CC, but as long as you can access adjustment layers, you should be able to do this on most anything since I’m not using a premade PSD or anything. If you have any questions or need more explanation, don’t hesitate to message us and I’ll do my best to clear up any concerns you have. Please like/reblog if you found this helpful!

Hi! I love your Tumblr and am obsessed with all the great gif sets you make. I now need to learn how make gifs for a new job -- would you be open to sharing any tutorials or advice about how to make them as clean and as crisp as yours do without enormous file sizes? Thank you so much!

We have made a few tutorials already that you can find here where there are tips, PSDs, sharpening, dimensions etc.

If you need more specific tutorials, let us know!

recently my laptop (using windows 10) wiped all my files and programs and basically reverted it back to “default” mode. all my pictures, videos, documents and programs are gone, but idk how this happened or how to fix it. ive tried restarting it, shutting it down, logging out, draining the battery and doing a system restore but none of it has worked. [it also said something about my normal account not working and that i was being automatically logged into a default account for the time being].

if anybody could help me in any way, it would be a huge help ;u; thank you!

7. Who are your top 3 gif makers

Ugh 3 are too few can I make it to 6…. @iosakisaka @kofee @tsutsui @irnperio @hheartflia @nain

14. How long does it usually take you to make a set

Depends, if I’m stuck (which is 90% of the time) it could take me 3-4 hours. But if I already have the idea how it will look like then 2-3 hours. Deciding scenes is the hardest thing for me.. And capping is a pain in the ass

21. PSDs or original coloring for each gif

Original coloring for each gif, I never use PSDs..

28. Have you ever posted a set, regretted it and immediately deleted it

I have but I forgot what set, because I really disliked the outcome of it and changed my mind some days after posting it.

35. Do you change your giffing style a lot or do you have a set routine

I change my giffing style often because I don’t know what kind of style I should settle with….

42. How is your gif folder organized? Is it organized at all?

49. How much would you say you’ve improved since you first started giffing

SO so much. My gifs used to be so slow paced and I was just too lazy to fix it and just left it like that… And colouring gifs has always been hard for me too because I just can’t get it right most of the time but it’s also fun when all the colours and scenes just fit. Still struggling with it though but now it’s easier than it used to be!

47 for the gif ask, because I'm a novice and your gifs are beautiful!

hahahaha thank you <3

47. Any advice for novice gif makers/people who want to start making gifs? Never ever try to gif a video that isn’t at least 720p (I prefer 1080p) and try to start with logoless tv shows, it’s what I did and apparently it makes a huge difference. Also, try to look at as many tutorials as you can/want and at as many psds as you can/want to kind of learn how everything works? Your first gifsets will probably be a disaster, you can’t learn yourself how to color something properly right away so be patient there :d I would say, use premade psds by users on here for a while before trying to color something yourself and… avoid dark yellow/red scenes (blue is actually smth you can fix with color balance)

Also if possible, try to buy an external hard drive to put all your downloaded episodes on. I currently have one that’s 4 TB (I had a 1TB before) and it’s my little baby xd I also save all my screencaps on there but that bc I’m a lazy butt and I hate screencapping it all.

Oh and when you wanna publish your gifset, draft it first (also don’t close your gifs in photoshop until you drafted it) that way, you can easily see if something went wrong while saving the gif and if everything looks good. Use edit tags when you publish (for example: arrowedit, saralanceedit, …) and you could tag some blogs too (daily blogs like shadowhuntersdaily etc) so your set will get reblogged and more people will see it :d

Okay wow I have so much more to say but I can’t think of it now xd

ps asks

anonymous asked:

Hi! I was just wondering, how do you make the colours pop in your gifs, and make them look really bright and HQ? Usually when I try, it doesn't go so well.

For the high quality, I always get the 1080p web-dl version of the episodes, screencap the scenes with KM Player, use the load files into stack method and use actions to sharpen the gif (I use photoshop CS5 btw).

As for the colors, I have two or three basic psds that I always use, but then experiment with color balance, selective colors, and vibrance layers to make a certain color pop more in a scene.

You can check @itsphotoshop tutorials and psds for reference. It was really helpful when I started to make gifs. :)

What/who inspired you to start making gifs: everyone inspired me. boredom inspired me. i’d been making mediocre picspams and graphics for a while so one day i saw a scene and was like, ooh. i should gif that? then, of course, i went on a googling spree, hit walls, and ran to you, gif queen. and words cannot express how much you’ve helped me? i would not be making gifs if not for you, or, at least, it would’ve taken me significantly longer because googling “change frame rate of gifs” was not turning up usable answers. (also i just. do not like so many gifsets i see. so. many. gifsets. so i wanted to put out gifs that i wouldn’t mind putting on my blog because i’m an ASS.)

PSDs or original coloring for each gif: original coloring. i don’t know how to use PSDs and because of that i don’t understand how they’re helpful. right? every scene is a different layer of brightness, saturation, you may want to fix colors, or… do people who use PSDs do that already? what is a PSD. listen. i don’t know how to import layers or make layer folders or ANYTHING. so… original coloring lmfao it’s what i know how to do. but i still don’t get PSDs. unless of course i’m giffing dialogue for one scene, then i do copy over my coloring. because it’s all the same scene. same room. same people. DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE? you guys, if it wasn’t clear by now, i do not know how to photoshop.

How is your gif folder organized? Is it organized at all?: i don’t have a folder of gifs i’ve made. i have kept some of the funny ones re: the Hell OT3 in case i need to embarrass emily but? no, when i was making only picspams i organized by show then by season (because i primarily did only one picspam per episode) but then i realized there’s no reason because i don’t use them again. at most, i keep my gifs on my desktop for a little bit in case i find i can edit something quickly and reupload but otherwise everything goes into the trash.

thank you!!

9. What/who inspired you to start making gifs?

hmmmm @vanessascarlysles, @wandamaixmoff, @orlandobloom, @deanyw, @perfectopposite, @niklausxcaroline all inspired me with their incredible gifs and colorings and styles! but also just seeing everyone’s gifs in all my fandoms, everyone’s so talented and i wanted to try myself! i also made gifs years ago when jasc animation shop was a thing to use for it lmao that were super bad but fun, and i like getting better and trying new things with them :)

12. What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever giffed

hmmmmmm idk i don’t think anything embarassing? i really hate how these two gifsets look but they were when i was still super new to photoshop and had no idea what i was doing lmao (x and x)

21. PSDs or original coloring for each gif

i usually really like psds when i first see them and will try them out, but they rarely fit what i’m making/i don’t really like them on the gif so i’ll study them, see what i DO like about them, and then make my own!! :) (note: i don’t like just change someone else’s psd, i really study to see what they did and see how it effects the gif and then create my own)

32. What is your favorite tool/adjustment layer in Photoshop

i really love selective color!!!

gif maker questions?

anonymous asked:

Could u give any tips on how to make the lips / face features pretty and pink ? like what are the selective colors u use?

you can download my psd and look at it yourself, i think it’s easier. depending on the gif, you might have to disable some of the color balances in the psd and add one of your own, under the group psd (i usually do + blue and + cyan or + yellow and + cyan then + magenta). then, to reaaally make the lips pink, add a selective color layer on top of the group and increase the level of the magenta (maybe even reduce the yellow)

anonymous asked:

Hi! can i ask gifs-questions? how do you make your gifs clean? and how did you color kylo in snow scene like your last post? thank you uwu

answered first question →

and coloring kylo is like

this. I don’t save psd, so curves level is always different but mainly i adjust like that. use the curves. always. it’s the best tool to color gif :)

anonymous asked:

hi! sorry if i am bothering you, but could you please do a tutorial on how you made this set post/148521089550 please? specifically how you did the third and fourth gifs? they're so pretty, id appreciate it

well, i just used my psd (added the necessary adjustments) and then added this gradient on both sides of the gif (ctrl + u to change the color of the gradient) !under! the group psd
