how to use a tip jar

I was working once and this adorable little old lady came in a started telling us with all this pride in her voice about her granddaughter who worked on call for Starbuck’s. My co-workers and I all told her what a hard job that was and how her granddaughter must be a very hard worker and she just beamed. Then she told us she’d been saving all her change up because her granddaughter told her she loved it when people put money in the tip jar and she asked us if we actually got those tips and when we said yes she dumped her entire purse into the jar.

Hello Moonlings! I thought I would share with you something SUPER easy to make that I did the other day: a purification jar. Nothing original there you’ll tell me, right? Wait! This jar is actually made for you to place what needs to be cleansed INSIDE, while the elements of the jar will cleanse it. It’s a great and simple way to cleanse your crystals for example, and you can do it at any time!

What you’ll need:

  • jar, like a mason jar, it has to be big enough to place what you want to cleanse inside
  • sea salt
  • dried sage
  • rosemary
  • clear quartz(s)

How to proceed:

🌚 Once all the ingredients gathered, place them in the jar, starting with the salt. For each ingredient, focus on what you want it to accomplish, charge it with your intent to purify whatever will be placed in the jar.

🌚 Then, close the jar and shake it all, so that the ingredients are mixed up.

🌚 Finally, let the jar charge overnight during New Moon. And there it is! Your purification jar is up and ready to use ;)

Crystals tip #1

A cheap and fun way to incorporate stones and crystals in spells, especially if you’re new to the use of crystals, is to use crystal chip beads. They are sold in long strands and are usually very affordable (about 2€/2$ each). They can be used in many ways, and I love how versatile and easy they are to use. Don’t be fooled by their size: tiny crystals carry as much power as the big ones, but they are much cheaper and convenient.

🔮  You can use them in… 🔮

  • Jar spells: just put a couple of crystals in your jar along with the other ingredients to enhance the power of your spell.
  • Mojo bags: you can fill small fabric bags with all sorts of herbs, oils and other ingredients. Adding the right stone can help you obtain a more effective spell.
  • Tiny talismans: you can take one or more different crystal beads and use them to create charms to carry around with you. Cleanse the crystals with some sage or incense and focus your intention on what you want the crystals to do (bring protection, courage, attract love…)
  • Magic room sprays: put some crystals along with some water and essential oils in a spray bottle and use it to cleanse and protect your room or your house.
If you want to light up romance with your loved one, spray water infused with rose quarts, rose and jasmine essential oils and some basil leaves around the room.
For a very strong protection use holy water, obsidian and mint (I would suggest doing this if you think you’re under the effects of a psychic attack or malocchio).

💎  My favorite crystals 💎

  • Carnelian, which can be used to enhance courage and strength or to stimulate lust and sexual power. Use in combination with thyme, and with warrior deities such as St. George, St. Michael Archangel, Ogoun.
  • Rose Quartz, the stone of love and trust. It can be used to bring back romance in a relationship or to help build trust and friendship between two people. Use in combination with basil, and with love and beauty deities such as Erzulie Freda, Mater Dolorosa, Aphrodite
  • Fluorite, the crystal of wisdom and intelligence. As a scientist and a student I love this stone, because it helps me focus my intellectual energies and it brings clarity to my mind. Use in combination with sage, and with deities associated with wisdom, such as Athena, Isis, Ganesha.
  • Clear quartz, the most versatile stone, can be used for all sorts of spells and rituals. I find that staring into a piece of clear quarts helps me focus my intention and brings clarity and spiritual power.

Happy spellcasting!

✪ Witch Tip ~ Full Moon ✪

If you plan on keeping your moon charged water for a long while, use sealed bottled water.

  1. You can charge water under special circumstances and keep it for like… ever.
  2. You don’t have to worry about the film-y slime that happens, you know the one.
  3. You drink it or use it for potions without worrying about the ick that always seem to get in my mason jars, how
  4. Inconspicuous for the closet witch
  5. Nice and easy to label.
  6. Plastic means if you’re clumsy like me, no broken mason jars everywhere

  1. Plastic isn’t as good for the penguins
  2. it’s not as ~a e s t h e t i c~
  3. You have to go through the effort of cleansing it of juju before hand, unlike natural water
  4. Quite frankly, it’s not natural water. Sea water, rain water, snow melt, ect. are all their own things to be used at different times.
How to: Making moon water

Hello friends, it is I and I am here for yet another “How to”. This time I will show you how to make moon water. Moon water is a must have for me in my craft. My craft revolves heavily around the moon and almost all of my energy comes from her (the moon, cause she is my babe). Moon water is specially charged water that has a lot of magickal energy. It can be used to clean crystals, used in spells, you can put a little in a bath for an extra boost of energy, you can even drink a little bit to get re-energized, or put some in a spray bottle and use to cleanse a room. Moon water is good for everything! This post will teach you the steps in how to make it. The way that I will show you is not the ONLY way, but it is my way, that I want to share will you all.

Step #1:
Find a jar (witches love jars) preferably a glass jar. You really shouldn’t use plastic cups because the chemicals in the plastic will fuck up the energy of the moon war. I always use a VERY large mason jar because the more water you can make the better. Also the mason jar is easy to store and they are super cheap, you can literally get the anywhere. WITCH TIP! You can go to goodwill and find a SHIT TON of nice ass jars and glass containers for like $2 each. Just make sure you clean them well when you get home, also check and make sure they don’t have any cracks.

Step #2:
Fill your jar with water, spring, filtered, distilled or tap water. I own one of the refrigerators will the thing on the door that filters water, so I always just use the water from there. I personally never like to use tap water because it normally has a lot of chemicals in it, but if that’s all you have then that is fine!

Step #3 (OPTIONAL):
Okay so this step is optional, but sometimes I like to do this if I have a specific purpose for the moon water. Sometime I put herbs/plants/fruit in the water to infuse the water with the magickal qualities of that herbs/plant/fruit. BUT if you are planning on drinking the water be careful with what you put in it. Some herbs/plants/fruits are POSIONOUS! If you want to know what the magickal quality of a specific herbs/plants/fruits then you can check out my other post on my blog that list all of that for you!

Step #4:
Bless and cleanse the water with incense (Personally I use sage). I cleanse the water by letting the smoke of the incense engulf the container. When I do this I really focus my intent of wanting powerful, energizing moon water.

Step #5:
I consecrate the water by holding my hands over the jar and focusing my energy into the water. If you are a beginner and it is hard for you to focus your energy I would try repeating a saying over and over. You can say something like “Let this moon water be free of impurities and full on positive energy”. It does not have to be those exact words, but just remember to speak from the heart.

Step #6:
Leave the water out side on the night of the full moon. Preferably try to not leave the jar in a place where it is covered by trees and shade. Then just let it sit outside and soak up all of the energy. Then that’s it you are done! The next day go collect your water and be on your mary way UNLESS you did step #3. If you did step #3 then you have to continue to step #7 (sorry, not sorry).

Step #7:
Okay, so you put the herbs/plants/fruit in the moon water. Now you have to fish it out of the moon water. I suggest straining the water with a pasta strainer. Or if you only had big pieces of fruit you can just scoop them out with a spoon. Then that’s it and now you are done!

I hope this helped you guys a lot, please message me if you have any questions I am more than happy to help! Happy witching and I wish you all the best <3

new moon who dis spell jar 🌚🌘

this is an intimately personal jar. it will be different for every person who makes it. its purpose is to help bring about a new you by motivating your passions and reminding you of your strengths.

P A R T  O N E (optional)

the night of the last waning moon, cleanse your work space. call upon your gods (if you worship any). banish all the negativities you hold about yourself. do this however you wish. I wrote mine down and burnt them, then flung the ashes into the wind.

P A R T  T W O (the good part)

this jar is the best version of you, symbolised. who you want to be; what you want to do. so, it will be different for every person. for example, I used

🐚  shells, salt rocks, an unstruck match, and dandelion fluff - to symbolise the four elements, and my desire to further my elemental magic

🐚  small crystal shards - to amplify energy

🍃  poppy seeds - for luck

🍃  cinnamon - for success

🍃  thyme - for courage against depression

🍃  lavender - to soothe social anxiety

🍃  sage - for wisdom in academics

🍃  rosemary - for healing

I kept my list of ingredients short, as i’m seeking simplicity in life.

m e t h o d

🌜 charge your ingredients however you wish. i placed each in a simple crystal and candle grid and meditated over it while chanting luna nova, mea nova (new moon, new me).

tip: tarot cards are old and powerful. use them. I performed this ritual under the sight of The Fool, who symbolises new beginnings and is the protagonist of the Major Arcana.

🌜 add your ingredients to your jar in whichever order you wish.

🌜 I finished by circulating blueberry incense within the jar, for protection.

🌜 seal with wax

🌜 keep the bottle close by.

thats it! if you try it, let me know how it went! I hope it helps you achieve everything you wish <3

Witchy Tip:

If you can, when jarring stuff you’re going to use exclusively for magick, color code it. Red for non-edible, green for edible. Is that rosemary straight from the herbs and spices cabinet from the kitchen? Label it green. Oh, that’s not culinary lavender? Label it red, you gotta remember that.

And for when you’re perusing through your jars to see what things would work best for the spell you’re whipping up, it’d be very helpful if you listed the magickal and/or medicinal properties on the back of the jars beforehand. It helps save you time for those moments in life where you have to throw together a spell and you don’t have time to flip through your BoS or Google to find a spell to cast.

putting the properties on the back has also proved to be a good studying technique. It reminds me of how one studies by use of flash cards.

It’s the Corn Stand girl from the Finger Lakes again!

So I’m working at the stand. It’s late in the afternoon and only a few minutes away from the end of my shift. It’s late in the season, so I only had a few customers. Anyhow, this dude comes and starts a conversation with me while I pick out some corn for him.

Him: “Slow day?”
Me: “I suppose, but it’s peaceful.”
Him: “You could use some reading material!”

I had a copy of the third Harry Potter book sitting in plain sight on my chair. I was reading when he pulled up.

But before I can say anything, he hands me a pamphlet.

He’s a Jehovah’s Witness.

Which I’m fine with, I’m all for Religious Tolerance, but I’m five minutes to the end of my shift and I want to go home. So I respond with the best thing I can, panicking a little.

“Oh, you’re Jehovah’s Witness! I’m Mormon. Both of us are knocking on doors, huh?”

His face goes white.

The pamphlet he handed me was on the Old Testament. I begin to tell him about my Seminary class and how we were about to begin studying the Old Testament.

When I take a breath, he shoves a dollar in my tip jar and practically runs.

Organization Tips

Exams have finally ended, which means I’m back to being active on Tumblr! I’m moving back home from the dorm soon, which calls for some tips on organization for me and everyone else who needs it. A happy vacation to those who’s schoolyears have ended, and I really wish luck to the others not yet done =)

- Pens : Get different jars for different kinds of pens; don’t keep them all scattered in different pencilcases (like me right now hehe). Keep only a few essentials [ your favorite pen, a mechanical pencil, an eraser, a highlighter, a marker ] in one pouch you can carry around often.
- Wires : Use a large box to store all your chargers, connectors, etcetera. Use dividers and clips to ensure they don’t get all tangled up.
- Drawers : Make sure everything is easily accessible once you open a drawer. Don’t keep things that are too heavy inside (eg. thick textbooks). Use more boxes to organize smaller items. Don’t forget to label each box!

Use a bulletin board to pin up inspiring images, important schedules and the like. An alternative to this is taping them all down to your table. As much as possible, try not to cramp your table with so much stuff, though - keep the center clear when you’re not at your desk so it’s easy to get down to work and you won’t have to clean your desk every single time before.

Use a binder, an accordion folder or something similar to organize all the papers you need. I confess I have so much scratch paper lying around, and I suggest you find some place to sell them instead of just throwing them into a trash can. Thinner folders, paper clips and binder clips are more things you can use to organize these.

Hang up long pants, dresses, and other clothes that easily get creases and crumples. It’s really your call on how you organize your other clothes, but here are some ideas:
* by shade/color
* by how often you use them
* by kind of clothing

Use shelves or a bathroom organizer you can hang up to hold your toiletries so that you can easily get and see what you need at eye level.

As I said earlier, only keep the bare necessities in one case. The others you can either keep in jars or boxes. Get one huge box to store all your hoarded sticky notes, tools like scissors, extra notebooks and clips.

anonymous asked:

How can we best support you? (Emotionally, financially, mentally, or otherwise)? Feeling helpless cause I love you and the content you make and it's hard to see you suffering :(

Hey! Thank you so much. It is hard, and the expenses are piling up, but I feel bad crowd funding, espically since I’m not in physical danger and am moving out to better myself mentally. I have put my PayPal me info out there, which I kind of think of as a virtual ‘tip jar’ which you can feel free to use if you would like, but I don’t want anyone to feel bad or feel like they have to contribute. so yeah, that link is

And you know, if anyone has access to discounts or knows about deals to like, target, IKEA, amazon, etc! Who knows, that’s where I’ll probably be doing most of my shopping. This Friday I will be going to my Grandmom’s to check out some thrift stores too!

Other than that, the support has been amazing. People encouraging me has been a true and driving force. With anything I pursue there is always hesitance and a feeling of “"am I making the right choice” so thanks to everyone who has encouraged me.

anonymous asked:

Do you have any tips on how to store the herbs you use for witchcraft? My room is quite small and I don't want to place my witchcraft herbs in the kitchen for my family to use. Any ideas?

If you’re pressed for space, I’d advise going minimalist on your practice as a whole: small spells in small jars, if you get my drift. Sure, a giant fuck-off fire fueled by a huge rosemary stem is satisfying, but it doesn’t have to be that way. If you do your spells in small batches and use small amounts of herbs for each spell, it will all be generally easier to store in a small space.

As for the storage itself, this really depends on your whole situation - can you buy stuff, or are you pressed for cash as well, what space/furniture you have available… stuff like that.

Still, you may want to try:

  • Small ziplock bags. They are airtight and will keep your herbs fresh, they take up very little space and you can see what’s in them without opening. The downside is that some people might assume you have drugs in them because people are like that.
  • Matchboxes. They also take up little space, they’re practical, and people are not likely to snoop in them. They’re likely to grab a box expecting actual matches, though, so there’s that. Also, possible sulfur residue means you’d best not use the herbs stored in matchboxes for eating or cosmetics, though of course you can keep a plastic bag inside the matchbox.
  • My DIY pouches made from leftover cotton pad packaging. Absolute hit.
  • Any small jars you can get your hands on - leftover cosmetics packaging, pill bottles, things like that.

I know this is all pretty generic, but not knowing your situation I have to be. Still, hope some of this helps!

This election cycle has been a hell of ride. I’m pissed, I’m terrified, and I’m trying to do better.

As we’ve moved into this new era, I want to do what I can to support organizations and causes that I care for. One important way to support those causes with money and time. For me, I’ve decided to do some of that work through offering tarot readings on a donation basis.

To request readings, you must…

  • Be 18+.
  • Be following me.
  • Not be on Anon or ask via IM. I will ignore requests via IM.
  • Make a donation.
  • Read the damn guidelines.

All donations - minus the cents that Paypal grabs - will be used to support the actions of activists, folx, and organizations doing work around racial justice, trans justice, reproductive justice, queer justice, and more. As time goes on, I’ll make posts about who gets the donations and how much they get.

This is ongoing. I don’t have an end date for this.

So what’s this going to look like?

I have a #readingsforacause tip jar! It’s located on the left side of my blog. If you want a reading, donate through there. Donations are set at $10, $15, and $20.

Donations set at these levels to offer a sliding scale, but I also want to acknowledge that time and effort is going into these readings and that I want to be able to offer as substantial a donation as I can when i donate. Labor is labor, both on my part and on the part of people working towards justice.

After you donate, send me your question via my ASK BOX.

I’ll do your reading as a response to your ask. It’ll be tagged with your username, #potter reads tarot, and #readingsforacause.

What about the readings?

I don’t have pre-selected spreads or a set number of cards for this. I have a few personal spreads that I’ll likely be choosing from that are in the 2 - 4 card range. I promise that whatever size reading you get, it’ll be detailed and focused on empowerment and growth.

Other things to know

  • Before requesting a reading, read my GUIDELINES. They’re there to help you and me both. If you have any questions about them, ask. They’re linked in this post and linked on the left side of my blog.
  • To reiterate an earlier point: because I use Paypal, they will take out a few cents of each donation as a fee-for-service. It sucks, that’s capitalism.
  • I work a full time job and I have a life outside tumblr. This means readings can take some time to get out, especially if I get several requests at once. Thanks in advance for your patience!
  • If you have any questions about this #readingsforacause thing, let me know. You gotta ask for me to answer.

THANK YOU. Thank you so much. I know this is bigger than me, but I have to do something. And with your help, we can do something together.

"Look what my baby can do!"

I dunno; is it just my family, or do other people do this: the parents are like, “look what I taught young Julio!” And then the baby/infant/not-even-two-year-old does a fist bump, or the Vulcan hand sign, or SOMETHING quirky.

Is this normal? Do other families do this? …whatever.

So, what if the RFA pulled something like that? What neat ‘tricks’ would they teach their kid?

“Look! Guys, look! Loooook!”
His baby had just figured out how to stand on its own. Turning around, everyone saw Yoosung help his child stand on the couch.
“…yeah, we know they can do that,” Zen shrugged, “It’s been a week.”
“No, that’s not it!” Yoosung exclaimed, then, kneeling in front of the baby, he put his hands low beside his right hip, kind of like he was holding an invisible ball.
“…what?” Jumin frowned.
Jaehee cocked her head. Why did that look so familiar?
A lightbulb went off over most of the RFA’s heads.
“Are you kidding me?” Zen facepalmed.
The baby grinned wide, showing an adorable lack of teeth. Their favourite part was coming up.
Yoosung thrust his hands forward, until they stopped just in front of his child, not quite touching them.
Giggling, the baby fell backward onto the couch, as if hit by a super attack.
“DID YOU SEE? DID YOU SEE?!” Yoosung yelled, turning back to his friends.
“SO COOL!” Saeyoung yelled.
“You are such a nerd!” Zen exclaimed, half crying on the inside because somehow he had lost The Girl to this power dork.

“This hot chocolate is delicious!”
“Thank you! My child mixed it for you!”
The customer looked over to the other end of the cafe’s counter, and was surprised to see that, yes, an infant was studiously mixing chocolate mix into warmed milk for their customers. The little one was seated in the counter, a baby frown of concentration on their face while they scooped and stirred, somehow managing to keep their clothes clean.
“Th…that’s amazing!”
Shocked and charmed, the happy customer slipped a few coins into the tip jar marked “Tuition in 15 years.”

“How does your child know to selfie? They can’t even walk, yet. …Zen, their selfies are better than mine. The shots are focused and the face is centred. They…they’re using the front camera! How is this possible? …Zen. ZEN. How does your child know about filters? …hot damn, why do they look so good?!”

The house staff and C&R’s employees were always happy to see Jumin’s child.
Not only because they were adorable.
Not only because their director and chairman were always in a good mood when the little one were around.
No, they were always happy because the child’s mother had taught them something special: how to tip.
So, wherever the child went, if a door was held open for them, or a candy was offered, or even if they were simply praised for being a good child, out would come the child’s little wallet, and a small bill or handful of coins was given to whoever had earned their favour.
It was a time of plenty for the house staff and C&R.

“Is…is your child dabbing at me?”
“Yes. Yes, they are. ;D”

Hide your candy. Now. Saeran’s child is GOOD at finding sweet treats.
In your purse? It’s gone.
In a cupboard? Kid can climb.
In your pocket? Yeah, they aren’t hugging you to be cute. They’re going for the goods.
Locked in a safe? Please.
They’re efforts can only be called off with a payment of ice cream.
‘Outlander’ Star Caitriona Balfe Reveals Skin Care Tips
Want clear skin like “Outlander” actress Caitriona Balfe? Find out the most important part of her beauty routine!

“Outlander” fans probably aren’t at all surprised to find that Caitriona Balfe got a mention in People’s Most Beautiful issue. While the magazine lists Julia Roberts in the top spot, the Claire Fraser actress gets a special mention for her clear complexion.

In the magazine, the Irish actress reveals her top tip is making sure she never goes to bed with a face full of makeup clogging her pores. “I’m quite proud to say that I haven’t gone to sleep with my makeup on since I was a teenager,” the former model told People.

While washing her face and great genetics play a big part in how Balfe looks, there are some products that also help her out. Specifically, the 37-year-old uses NYDG’s Formula 119 Cream. The moisturizer contains shea butter, chamomile, algae among many other ingredients.

It’s expensive to have skin like a star, though. A 1.7 ounce jar retails for $110. One percent of the proceeds are donated to the NYDG’s charitable foundation.

Balfe’s co-star Sam Heughan retweeted a scan of the magazine with his onscreen wife’s skin care tips:

Hopefully, both Balfe and Heughan are adding more SPF to their routines right now. They’re getting much more sun as “Outlander” Season 3 filming moved from Scotland to South Africa recently. Cape Town will stand in as Jamaica on the Starz drama.

“Outlander” Season 3 is taking a bit longer to hit screens this year. It will be on hiatus until September, so it’s no wonder that fans typically aren’t asking Balfe for beauty tips when they see her. They are just dying to ask what’s next for Claire and Jamie. “They want to know everything about the show,” she laughed to Red Carpet Report in February. “They want all the spoilers, but of course, I can’t give them any.”

Luckily, the trailer released earlier this week gave a few hints about what’s to come. Check out what you missed in the “Outlander” Season 3 teaser HERE.

GW17 - Space and Time

Gajevy Week 2017 #1 - Supermassive Black Hole

-on and ao3-

Is it a dream? Or is it all impossibly real…

With a destiny far greater than any known confines, Levy is hurled into a vast universe only she has the power to save.

Space and Time:

Supermassive Black Hole

A blank page. A fresh start.

Levy’s lips pulled at the corners as she gazed around at the empty living room. Her hands on her hips, she immediately began to picture how the furniture would be arranged once the movers steadily unloaded the small u-haul truck. She had no idea how the next few months would play out, only knowing that the job offer had required her to relocate, and that in itself would take time for her to adjust.

She indicated to areas as the workers came through with her possessions, Levy herself carrying some smaller boxes, showing them where they could set the large pieces. After a few hours, everything had been unloaded, she was alone. Sitting on the kitchen counter and swinging her legs, Levy ate her delivered pizza. The break from arranging the furniture gave her time to think. Her free hand came up to her chest where her necklace hung, her fingers absentmindedly rubbing the round, gold locket.

The evening hours began to creep up on her and she had yet to start unpacking. Deciding to start in her bedroom, Levy made quick work of making up her bed, complete with an extra pillow and her stuffed dragon. She was surprised by her vigor at the time of night after the long day and dove into the box beside her desk.

It was full of her books. Looking around, she saw that the movers had placed her smaller book shelves in the living room. She let out a huff and made her way through the short hall to the main room, zoning in on the bedroom’s missing wall units. They were heavy, but she’d manage to mount them like she had at her previous home. After all, they were for her precious books.

Eventually with the shelves anchored above her desk, Levy felt the desire to organize everything. All of her books and writing supplies had been placed in their appropriate locations. It helped her feel more in control of herself, and of things she couldn’t. Now she was left with the cardboard box everything was toted in.

Holding it and not knowing if she’d need it again for something, Levy kicked it towards the closet. She twisted the door handle, the hinges creaking as it opened. Her interest was piqued as her hazel eyes spied a book.

The cover was a dark brownish color, looking sort of stained and worn, reminding her of leather. It was plain, no embellishments were seen on the cover or spine. Bending to pick it up, Levy examined the odd find. It was indeed leather, and it was cold. As if it had been stored in a basement, tossed aside in the dark.

She turned it over in her hands, blindly guiding herself towards her bed. Maybe it was an old book of fairy tales, or something that was made a long time ago full of stories she had never read. Feeling hopeful, she opened the cover as she sat on the mattress.

The pages were aged with a yellow tint like parchment, and a musky scent wafted to her nostrils. But they were blank. No words had been printed. She flipped the paper to look through the rest, but every single one was blank. Nothing had been ripped out or torn. It was as if it was a brand new book.

Or journal, Levy thought excitedly.

Her organizing was put on the backburner as her mind was filled with ideas for turning her newly acquired logbook into a daily diary. Something she could use to commemorate entering a new phase of her life. Already she was planning out how to decorate the front cover and start the beginning entries.

With a tome so fancy looking however, not just any pen would do. Levy reserved her bottles of ink for special pieces. It was expensive and rarely used it for that reason, and her quills were mostly used as decoration. Nevertheless, she set the book on the desk and pulled out the writing utensils.

She dipped the metal quill into the black ink jar and poised to write on the first page. As the tip touched the paper, Levy felt a strange sensation.

There was a tingling, much like her hand had fallen asleep. It pulled her palm downward against the page, though she could feel the smooth surface against her skin and a forcing pressure pushing on it. She tried to lift her hand, but nothing happened. Neither she nor the pen moved an inch.

Fear was beginning in the back of Levy’s mind. It crept around to the front, as nothing had ever happened to her before this and she had nothing with which to compare it. Very soon, the tingling feeling moved up her arm and worked its way to her shoulder. It spread throughout her body, seemingly to paralyze her.

She let loose a frightened cry, her voice too muffled to be heard in the next room. A turquoise light appeared in the spot where the quill connected with the book and quickly sparked and grew until it completely consumed the tome.

The perplexing and terrifying pull seemed to engulf her entire body. She let out a scream, her voice sounding as if she was hearing it underwater. In an instant, she felt an intense pinching, a burning around her hand, and her vision turning the same turquoise as the light.

Everything went black then. The pain she had been experiencing completely vanished. She drifted off into a sleep-like state, unconcerned for her wellbeing. Simply existing.

Levy’s eyes shot open.

At first the brown iris-orbs saw nothing, unfocused on anything in particular. She gasped when she recalled her last registered memories. The light. The pain. A hand ran down her bare arm, feeling the tiny bumps and noticing that she only wore a black tank top and leopard print lounge pants. No wonder she was cold.

Her surroundings surprised her more. The room was small, the walls a light grey. The lights were not the same color or on the ceiling as were common; they glowed a bright turquoise, located three-fourths up the grey barriers like the dotted lines on a road. A bold but thin black stripe was painted in the middle, all the way around her glowing within her confines. She looked at herself, and her skin had an eerie blue-green tone.

It all looked so foreign. So unreal.

Dragging herself up, Levy placed her hands on the wall. Immediately she pulled her hand back, as it was ice cold. Her fingers burned with the sensory memory. The floor was cool under her socked feet. She assumed it would have been the same if it weren’t for the material.

“H-hello?” She said aloud, as if merely voicing an opinion. There were no windows, no other signs of life outside the room. The book she had found was laying open some feet away, the quill set across its page.

After hastily examining the thick tome for any markings that could tell her where she was, she gathered up the book and then inched her way around the room, looking the walls up and down for a door. Her hands came to a slight indent.

At her touch, the covering split in two and the two pieces disappeared to the side. She stared in wonder. The technology she had just witnessed was unlike any she had ever heard of, or ever seen in any science fiction film. The bright display at her eye level mesmerized her. There were blue words in symbols she didn’t recognize, in what she immediately assumed was another -and very sophisticated- language.

“What is this? W-where…” She began, staring quizzically at the small panel. She couldn’t wrap her mind around her situation. It had to be a dream. There was no other logical explanation.

She continued in her fascinated wonder and touched the screen, half out of curiousity, half out of desire to leave the room. A small bell like sound chimed, like the tone airlines used for the seatbelt sign. The symbols moved to form a new sentence structure and the wall space to the panel’s left abruptly slid back into itself.

A startled yelp escaped Levy, her blue hair bouncing with her surprise. Clutching the book to her chest, she peeked around it. Beyond the opening was a hall, exactly the same as her room. Her shoulders fell, but she carefully made her way through the doorway. She craned her neck to look down the hall to the left, then the right. Ahead was the same. It began to feel as though she were in a turquoise and grey maze.

Once her body was clear from the entry, the grey door slid back to a shut, effectively shutting Levy out. Now she was defenseless in a strange hallway, not having a clue as to where she was. Fear was heavy on her, as if it had taken an invisible form and sat on her shoulders.

A comm system binged overhead, causing her to violently jump in reaction. A smooth female voice was heard, echoing into the halls. It spoke in a strange language, calm and in obvious directive. Levy simply began in one direction, tentatively taking a step, and then another, praying she didn’t run into anyone. Or anything.

A few minutes later, there was a jarring. The floor and walls vibrated. The turquoise lights flickered. A red light replaced the bright blue, along with a simple alarm wail. The alarm frightened her; she had never heard a warning wail quite like it. A different voice came on the comm system, this time a male’s voice. It was speaking in the same language as the one before, only this one was clearly panicked.

“I want to wake up now. Please, please wake up.” Levy said to herself, then bit her lip, unsure of what to do. If it was indeed a dream, it was very life-like. She had had her fun but she would like to not see the end of this one.

Loud footsteps sounded behind her, and she spun around to see a form round the corner. It had a mechanical structure akin to a human, though it was evident it was not flesh and blood. After it came a human. He was tall, a foot or so taller than the mechanical form she saw first. Levy’s eyes widened as she stared, frozen in place.

The figure seemed as though he was human. He was broad shouldered, muscular in the places a man would be. He wore a black shirt, the muscles of his arms showing underneath the sleeves. He walked with a definite purpose, looking over his shoulder, having not noticed her. His hair was buzzed on the sides, leaving the top and back a shaggy mess. The tips of his ears were pointed, and several piercings decorated them.

There was more vibration from the floor and walls, and a thundering shook them harder. It felt like an instant earthquake. Levy stumbled and caught herself on the wall.

“The ship is taking a lot of fire! We need to get the hell out of here before they destroy-”

“Just give me a minute!” His deep baritone voice spoke into the bracelet on the inside of his wrist of his free hand. In his other was some sort of silvery rifle type weapon. He sniffed the air, his head then whipping around towards her.

Intense red eyes locked onto Levy as she stared back in fear. She clung to the book as if it would protect her from harm. When she didn’t say anything, he spoke up, his gaze intensifying as he took a large step forward. “Are you who they prophesied?”

Levy’s mouth dropped open, her hand still on the wall. Her lips worked nervously. “W-wha… w-what? Where am I? W-who are you?”

She couldn’t help but gaze at him. Air was exhaled from her lungs and she took a deep breath to restore it. A tingling sensation prickled her limbs and caused an involuntary shiver. The force of his eyes… it seemed as though she knew him, except she had never laid eyes on anyone so extraordinary. Those red irises, the black slit pupils. They punctured through her being. All she could do was watch as he took another sniff of the air.

“Sir, according to my calculations, this life form is female and is an alien to this quadrant of star systems; there is no planet in the vicinity that harbors her species.” The smooth voice of the mechanical form’s stated the information in a matter of fact tone. Its circular head rotated from the man to her, and back again.

“What species are you?” The human man-like figure asked, glancing towards the mechanical being.

Levy could hear them conversing, but she couldn’t make her body react. She violently trembled, her lips quivering, and she knew if she spoke again, she may not make sense. Her brain was already trying to figure out what was happening. She didn’t know what to say, let alone know how to say it.

She felt her knees begin to buckle. It was too much for the moment. Either she’d wake up now or…

“R-P, what else can you give me?” The man glanced towards the metal figure.

“She seems to be in shock.”

Red eyes rolled. “No, I meant information about who she is.”

The face turned towards Levy. “She’s Human.”

Its tall companion pursed his lips. He brought his wrist up to his mouth, speaking into the comm link. “I’ve got her.”

As he moved towards her, Levy snapped to as she broke out of her stupor. His arm reached out for her, but she backed away, a frown set on her face. “I’m not going with you.”

“Oh, yes you are.” The deep voice commanded. He grabbed her firmly by her arm. Levy briefly struggled, almost immediately knowing there was no escape his grasp.

“Tell me where you’re taking me? Who are you?!” She weakly cried. Her energy was drained, her eyes burned, as it felt like she hadn’t slept for a few days.

The tall man turned with her and headed back the way she had seen him come. “You’ll find out soon enough.”

“Then tell me where I am!” She gasped, her legs working fast to keep up with him. Her free arm tightly pressed the leather bound book her her body. She glanced behind her to see the mechanical companion sliding along with no indication of stride.

“You’re on an abyss-damned ship, and if you don’t come with me, you’ll be damned along with it.”

Not long after his gruff reply, they came to a corridor of transparent walls. The man briskly continued down the enclosed catwalk towards a loading dock on the other end. Levy’s jaw dropped at the scenery.

An ever engulfing blackness prickled with white dots of various sizes and luminosity surrounded them. Everywhere she looked, she couldn’t escaped the ever present darkness. Large space vessels seemed to float on nothing, suspended on air -yet she knew there was none- outside the transparent walls. Red streams of light beams erupted from them and struck the ship they were currently aboard. Violent vibrations shook the floor.

Levy fearfully looked from the warring ships to her captor. Although he was leading her away to who knew where, he was gentle about it. His grip was loose, but tight enough to keep her there. His clip pace was deliberate and was completely understandable; she’d rather not die on a futuristic spacecraft.

Once at the end of the walkway, the man touched the small panel by the door, his fingers pressing symbols on the screen. A small tone sounded, and the door slid open. The mechanical being entered through silently and without instruction. Her tall captor placed a hand on the back of her neck and guiding her inside after.

She found herself in a new space of glowing turquoise, just like the one where she had awoke. Her body froze again as her eyes took in every new thing. The man gently pushed her further in the room, never looking directly at her. Behind him, the heavy grey door sealed them in.

The two of them came to another section of grey walls and turquoise lighting, though this part was a little dimmer, the lights gradually faded into what seemed to Levy as the inside of a car at night; blackness ahead with the headlight beams pointed out onto the road, the dash lit up with gauges and other dials.

Levy now realized they had entered into another ship. There were two pilot chairs and dashboard at the far, dark end, with four chairs behind and to the side, facing each other. Small windows were above those. The turquoise lighting of the back of the large room had a calming effect on her. She took a deep breath and chose to collapse into the first chair she came to.

It was clear that the man and the metal being were no threats to her. Had they been, she assumed she would have already been killed or taken prisoner, and none too gently. Unlike this one. He moved past her and sat down in the pilot’s chair, putting on a headset. The mechanical companion already had the rumbling ship ready to leave.

Biting her lip, Levy didn’t know what to do. She hadn’t woken up, if it was a dream. She glanced to the book in her arms, the quill end poking up through the pages. The two items had been with her the entire time. What if- could this all really be actuality?

“Um,” Levy hummed, rising from her seat. The man slightly turned his head at her hesitant approach.

He grunted. “We’re about to jump into hyper speed. Sit down and strap in.”

“We only a few a minutes before The Matrinn is completely disabled and destroyed.” The mechanical form chimed. His intricate metal fingers began dancing across the dashboard panels, and a small projection of the massive craft they had just been aboard rose up with red indicators everywhere, signaling its fate.

“Wait!” Levy’s voice rose with a small cry.

They both turned towards her. She bit her lip again, unsure.

“I-I have no idea what’s happening. I haven’t woken up yet and I’m afraid I won’t… What’s going on? Where are we? W-who are you?”

“Woken up yet?” The black haired man repeated. “You seem fully awake to me. We’re in the Arqoi sector, in the middle of a starship battle, which we have won. And the war we will eventually win because of you.”

Levy’s eyes narrowed, her voice raising in octave. “Because of me?”

The man gave an annoyed glance towards his metal friend. “Are you sure she’s it? She’s kinda dense.”

The ship jerked, sending Levy to the floor in a pile. The book slipped from her hands, but she immediately brought it back to her chest. She looked up at them, her blue hair in her eyes.

“I am afraid I don’t understand your tone, sir. Could this be another instance of sarcasm you had earlier mentioned?” The smooth, electronic voice said, and its head turned to look at his friend.

“Just crank it, R-P. Let’s get the hell outta here.”

From her spot on the floor, Levy spoke up again. “Just tell me who you are, and if you’re a good guy or a bad one.”

There was a rough chuckle. “Call me Gajeel. This is R-P, and there’s another below in the engine room.”

A whine slowly started to increase in volume, vibrations began to rattle the whole ship. Levy knew something was about to happen, and quickly scooted towards the chair behind Gajeel. Through the windows, Levy saw white begin to streak through the blackness outside. Her stomach lurched with the knowledge that she wasn’t sleeping. She was wide awake in the middle of space. In a futuristic space craft. How in the world did she end up here?

“As for the rest,” Gajeel stated as he touched glowing buttons before him. There was a loud whine and the white streaks beyond grew in size and had a blue tint. “Good, bad. It’s all subjective.”

There may be some errors, these will be edited for that.

Ey guys. I haven’t been advertising my patreon too much as of late. I figure I should advert it again.

I don’t have much to offer, but if you feel like donating to it, you can get some sneak peaks into sketches (at least of the more SFW kind) for $1, and a high res png and small PSD version of said png image if you do the $5 there. You could also suggest stuff if you’d like as well when I make posts about it.

I mainly use it for a tip jar though, so by all means this isn’t something mandatory. You aren’t missing out on much. If you want to support, or even want to get some info on how to do artworks, maybe consider becoming my patron. :)

Burn- a curse for an ex who has wronged you

A curse inspired by the song Burn, from Hamilton- for the person you hope will burn. Intended for use towards an ex who you feel has wronged you in some way, but it can be modified for others.

What you’ll need:

  • Matches or a lighter
  • A paper representation of your ex; a letter or printed out message is ideal, but if this can’t be done, just a slip of paper with their name will suffice.
  • A bowl
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Vinegar
  • Salt
  • Water

What to do:

  • Fill your bowl about halfway with water, then add the cayenne, vinegar, and salt. As you mix together those ingredients, speak the following:

You said you were mine
I thought you were mine

  • Now, above the bowl of water, take your paper and either strike the match or light the lighter, depending on what you’re using. As you set the paper aflame, say:

I’m burning the memories

Burning the letters that might have redeemed you

You forfeit all rights to my heart

  • Let the ashes from the burnt paper fall into your bowl and stir the contents of the bowl together. Visualize your ex’s suffering and hurt as you speak the phrase,

I hope that you burn.

How you dispose of the contents after this is up to you- you may want to pour them down the drain, pour the contents into a jar and smash it, or bury the contents.

Hi Mouse, I'm super SUPER low on money. I really want witchy supplies but just can't afford fancy crystals or even jars... Any tips? Thank you <3

Hello love! Oh yes, I’ve got loads of tips!

First of all, you don’t NEED any supplies or tools to practice. That being said, I know how nice it can be to have them!

✨-Jars. You’ve got plenty of jars sitting around your house. Herb jars, jam jars, pickle jars. For spells you can always use a different vessel, such as toilet paper rolls (which is great if you bury it!).
✨-Crystals. I love crystals, but they can be so pricey. If you must have one, I’d highly recommend Quartz. It can act as a substitute for any other crystal. Rose Quartz and amethyst are also great starter crystals.
✨-Candles. You can get super cheap pillar candles (I’m talking 0.99). Totally worth getting one or two.
✨-Herbs. No need to buy fancy herbs. Utilize what you already have in your kitchen. Rosemary is similar to Quartz, it can substitute for any other herb. Additionally, many herbal teas contain herbs that all go together (calming/sleepytime tea = calming/relaxing/peaceful herbs for spells)
✨-Grimoire. Doesn’t have to be fancy, you could use literally any notebook. My first one was a school notebook I got for 10 cents! (Back to school deal).

Some places to visit for supplies:
🌿-Thrift stores. Find jars, candles, baskets, altar pieces, journals and sometimes even crystals at an amazing price!
🌿-Online. I’ve heard of people getting tarot cards for a couple dollars from Amazon. You can get pretty much anything online these days! Be cautious with crystals though, some people sell fakes.
🌿-Dollar stores. Candles, rocks and sand, journals, artsy supplies, fake flowers, basic herbs and more!
🌿-Craft stores. Large selection of jars, not always the cheapest. My go to for small crystals and crystal beads! Be careful, it’s easy to spend a lot here.
🌿-Grocery stores. Packs of canning jars, pillar candles, herbs and salt!
🌿-Antique stores. You can find all sorts of treasures here, but it requires some dedication. I’ve found beautiful, very cheap crystals at antique stores before!
🌿-NATURE. Even if you live in a city. I find raw Quartz all the time. Dried plants. Stones are so underrated and are just as powerful as crystals!! Branches with magickal properties. Collect water, each type has different uses. The possibilities are endless.

🌿And of course, when possible, support your local businesses and fellow witches!
