I want a life with you. I want to fast forward this part, right here, when we are living out our separate lives miles from each other. I don’t want our worlds to only collide by text or to touch your face through a computer screen, tracing the outline of your jaw and imagining the softness of your hair beneath my fingers. I do not wish for dates set weeks from now and checking them off on my phone and going to sleep each night, grateful another day has disappeared.
No, quite simply my love I want our universes to be so tangled, so intricately wrapped that missing you will only be an option when sleep finds me.
I want a life with you, a home with you, a bed and the same four walls. I want to brush my lips across yours as I leave for work in the morning, knowing that we will be together when night falls. I want to kick off my shoes and have you rub my feet and tell you about my day, about my horrible boss and rude clients and for you to say all of the right things at the right time, just like you always do.
I want late night runs to the grocery store for popcorn and candy before we climb into our matching onesies and binge watch The Walking Dead and to then lie awake deep into the night, discussing how we would survive zombie apocalypse—you laughing at my terrible survival instincts before pulling me close into your chest and telling me “I’ve got your back.”
Because you always have.
I want those quiet mornings when we’re both working hard, not speaking but existing in the same space, taking it in turns to make tea and coffee and I want those days when our passion consumes us and we tear apart the entire house, like young lovers again lost to each other without a care in the world.
I want D.I.Y with you, building flat pack furniture and arguing over the stupid instructions before collapsing into fits of laughter and cracking open the wine. I want to feel your hand at the small of my back as we throw our first house gathering, each of us filtering into the room to speak to our friends but always catching each other’s eyes and smiling knowing that we have made it, we are here, this is ours.
So please, let us skip this part, press fast forward, let us return to each other and build our life together. I want all of those in-between bits, the mundane every day bits when we will get annoyed at each other for leaving the milk out or not washing the dishes straight away or finding socks at the foot of the bed. I want us to talk about chores, what we need from the shop and which family event we need to attend this month.
I want that small pleasure at a simple life with you because my love, no day is ordinary with you, no day will need anything other than your existence, your smile, your gentle touch.
And maybe I am silly for wanting to rush it, maybe I am forgetting that the distance is romantic in its own way, maybe I should be making the most of this last year of studying before I dive into my writing career but really, truly, I just want you, no more, no less.
Throughout the show’s run there have been subtle changes in wardrobe styles for the characters. For katana-wielding Michonne’s introduction in season 3, actress Danai Gurira’s heroine was equipped with a boot that symbolized strength.
“Michonne has lots of studs on her boot in the beginning — that was all a part of the plan, but Danai, in real life, wanted something more comfortable for her knees,” she said. “So I covered her sneakers — a hiking boot covered with a leather boot topper so it makes it look like boots, but it’s really not.
Gurira’s customized footwear now features buckles and straps.
“With her, especially, everything she’s wearing is on purpose,” Womble added.“When you see her coming, you’re like, ‘oh s**t, maybe you don’t want to mess with this one.’ She looks like she’ll take you out — it’s like a warning. If you see her in the apocalypse, you’re going to be afraid.”
Womble said that designing for Michonne ‘s season 4 flashback scene is among her favorite style moments.
“She was a lawyer before she became Michonne, the warrior,” Womble explained. “When you go back in time and she’s a mom, with a baby and in a fancy apartment with artwork. I wanted her to look like an African princess,”Womble said, adding that she took inspiration from Gurira’s Zimbabwean ancestry. “I made things that were soft. It was very African-inspired. It was so beautiful and orange. Because it was a dream [sequence], I enhanced it and made it more fancy than anything you would have on in the house.”

I want to brainstorm fic ideas that would be Jack and/or Anti centric (other egos are welcome as well) but my knowledge of most of them is limited and I’m really interested in the Anti theories that are floating around. A breakdown of how geographical location (in the US) will affect survival in a zombie apocalypse. This is a fantastic reference for those of you writing in this sub-genre since geographical location can greatly affect your story.
This may also be good for those of you who still need to decide on a setting. How much do you want your characters to struggle? Where you decide to set your story could determine the outcome. Examine the rest of the US here.
Things this list considers:
Other things to consider (related to geographical location):
Terrain - Is your area mountainous? Flat? Near lakes, oceans, or other bodies of water?
Population Density - Is your population spread out over a large area, or closely contained in a city?
Climate - Will your characters enjoy moderate weather during the apocalypse, or suffer harsh winters and sweltering heat?
Flora and Fauna - What types of plants and animals will your characters encounter? Will they be dangerous or useful?
Yet for all the majestic melancholy of watching that graceful, terrifying behemoth fall to earth, there was something strangely antiseptic about the battle between the living and the dead around which this episode centers. No one in their right mind would deny the power of watching Dany’s dragons torch zombies by the thousands. Or the visceral thrill of seeing seasoned warriors like Jon, Tormund, Jorah and the Hound go toe to toe with the undead. Or the romance of watching the King in the North swallow his pride and swear allegiance to his new Queen, the Khaleesi. Or even the simple pleasures of hearing this makeshift Winterfell Magnificent Seven swap war stories.
But compared to all of Game of Thrones’ set-piece battles before now, something was missing. Unlike past episodes featuring show-stopping showdowns and stand-offs – think “Blackwater,” “The Watchers on the Wall,” “The Battle of the Bastards” – this was not a demonstration of the gruesome futility of man’s inhumanity to man. And unlike the still-shocking best-of-show chapter “Hardhome,” there was no sense that this was a completely unexpected cataclysm in which life itself was under threat. This was just seven main characters and a bunch of redshirts against an improbably patient and inefficient swarm of zombies, who let nearly every one of our protagonists (Thoros of Myr and the aforementioned dragon excepted) escape with their lives. Even Snow himself dodged certain death when his undead Uncle Benjen appeared, just long enough to hold off the onslaught until his nephew could flee.
But perhaps there’s more to this battle than meets the eye. Sure, Jon and company survived seemingly impossible odds (how many days were they out there on that rock in the middle of the lake, anyway?). But maybe that’s the point. The closer we draw to the endgame, the more openly epic the story is going to get. This doesn’t just mean that the human-on-human battles that have dominated the series’ warfare will now give way to dragon-vs.-demon conflicts. It means that the same magic that fuels those winged creatures’ fire, keeps the walking dead moving and brought Lord Snow back from the Great Beyond will drive the narrative as well. The wheels of fate and the power of prophecy are becoming prime movers. In some cases, they may even supplant the show’s message about the folly and cruelty of war.
In that light, how the King in the North survived his dip into those icy, zombie-filled waters is less important than the simple fact that he survived. As his fellow resurrected warrior Beric Dondarrion put it, the Lord of Light didn’t bring them back to life “to watch us freeze to death.” The regent has a date with destiny. That time has not yet come.
Similar forces are at work in the budding romance between Jon and Daenerys. The two rulers – and the actors who play them – certainly have chemistry to burn. But love and lust share equal billing with pure providence. These two are meant to be together and they know it, however confusing it may be.
