Just got the official invitation to my friends wedding and it’s wonderful?!!? The holder for all of the information cards and invite turns into a woodcut frame! Plus they put little maps to the various venues on the back of the cards and that makes my travel planning heart so happy.
Modern Freyja → in Norse culture, Freyja was a goddess associated with fertility, magic, love, war and death. Described as a benevolent goddess, she helped with the harvest and taught gods and women the ancient sexual magic of seiðr. Through this, she has been associated with the Valkyries, and is said to have taken up to half of the souls who died in battle as her own warriors. Her appetites for pleasure were great - Loki at one point accused her of having shared the bed of every god and elf in Asgard, even her own brother - but when she married Óðr, she became the embodiment of marital fidelty. When her husband was gone to war, legends say she cried tears of gold from longing for him.
I commissioned this absolutely incredible portrait of Katsa from @crys-sketchblog and she completely knocked it out of the park. I’m honestly floored–this is not only gorgeous, but she really captured how I picture Katsa to look. I love her so much.
(This is actually the second Katsa piece I’ve commissioned from Shaila and the last, which was commissioned for various RP purposes, was just as fabulous. <3 So a big thank you to her!)
Miss Martian fan art from Young Justice. I’m currently re-watching the show and was inspired to do some fan art. M’gann is really gorgeous and after I finished this picture I realized how good she would look wearing glasses lol. I actually love her short hair look the most but this was fun! ~Jasmonaye
I actually wrote this short Tao scenario two weeks ago, but in light of recent events, it seems appropriate to post it now. I’m not going to get too deep into anything because my heart has been hurting from the entire situation but all I’m going to say is please give Tao, as well as the rest of the boys, a lot of love. Please continue to support all of them in the future as well, no matter what happens! On a lighter note, I found this gorgeous fanart that is exactly how I pictured catboy!tao in this scenario. Please enjoy. ~

Your mind wavered in the presence of nothingness in your unconscious state, body overtaken by slumber. You breathed evenly, maintaining your unperturbed dormancy until you felt a gentle touch on your shoulder. Disregarding it, you let your mind pull you back into idleness. But you felt another touch, followed by what seemed like a nudge. You frowned in your sleep, not willing to surrender to consciousness. Another nudge, a bit firmer this time, accompanied by shaking eventually did the trick as you rubbed at your eyes, wondering what could’ve been the source of the disturbance. Blinking a few times, your heart stopped when you saw a large, dark figure looming over you. You screamed, scrambling backwards on your bed and prayed to the heavens that it wasn’t your time to go yet.
“NO WAIT! It’s just me!” yelled Tao, fumbling to turn on your lamp.
“TAO?! What are you doing?! It’s the middle of the night! You almost scared me to death!” you rambled, hand shakily placed over your heaving chest.
“I’m sorry…” he mumbled, gaze fixed on his fidgeting hands. The soft lamp light reflected over his glossy eyes and you noticed they were a bit pink.
“Is anything wrong?”
He looked at you with a pout. “I can’t sleep…”
“Did you get some warm milk?” you asked. Whenever he couldn’t sleep, it usually did the trick for him. He shook his head no. “Well, you should go make some. The milk is on the middle shelf in the fridge; just heat it up for a minute.”
“… Can you make it for me?”
You sighed, figuring that you might as well do it since you were up already.
“Okay, just give me a minute. Wait here,” you instructed, sleepily ambling out of your bedroom and into the hallway. You made your way to the fridge, grabbed the milk carton and poured the liquid in a small mug, putting it in the microwave to heat it up. It was only then that you were alert enough to realize it was heavily raining outside. Pouring, to be exact. Brilliant flashes of white danced in the otherwise dark sky, being chased by their counterparts, the booming claps dominating the dreary night. You pulled the mug out of the microwave, shuffling back to the bedroom. The light had been turned on to reveal Tao tensely resting against the backboard, ears flattened as he clutched a pillow, so you offered him a warm smile as you handed him the milk. He thanked you quietly, visibly relaxing as he sipped the milk quickly and left the empty mug on your bedside table. “Better?”
He smiled weakly, nodding. Just then, a flash of lightning caught his attention and he tensed again, grimacing when the thunder followed. “C-Can I sleep here tonight?”
At last, you understood the reason for his anxiety. “Are you afraid of the thunder?”
He frowned, ears swiveling back and forth in defense. “No.”
You smiled, amused. “It’s okay if you are. But yeah, you can sleep here,” you affirmed, turning off the bedroom light. You crawled back into bed, settling into a comfortable position. He sat awkwardly, not sure where to place himself since he seldom slept in your bed, and when he did, it was when you weren’t home. You patted the spot next to you, inviting him to lie down. He happily accepted, snuggling into your side and making you giggle. White light flooded the room for another millisecond, indicating the thunderous roar to come. Suddenly, a tremendous rumble - stronger than the previous ones - reverberated around the room, sounding as if it was going to swallow the entire house whole as it made the ground shake and windows clatter. Tao whimpered quietly, gripping onto you tighter and burying his head in the crook of your neck. “Shhhh… it’s okay.” The rain pounded relentlessly on the windows but you felt safe under your blanket cocoon. You reached over to tousle his hair a little, slowly combing out the strands with your fingers. He shifted his legs so that they wrapped around yours, and you could feel his tail brushing against your calf. It was a little comical, really; your oversized catboy was clinging onto you, his tinier owner, for dear life, afraid of being swept away with the storm. For now, you just lied there, letting his warm body lull you back to sleep.

You felt a tickle near your neck, but you dismissed it as some stray hair being a nuisance. Something continually grazed across your neck, and it moved down to your shoulders. Confused but too tired to investigate, you inhaled deeply and tried to roll onto your side but something held you down securely. Your eyes fluttered open and you realized that Tao was still beside you. He was diligently rubbing his nose along the side of your neck, purring delightedly. You chuckled at the contact and he paused.
“You’re awake,” he commented, his cat eyes lighting up with delight.
“Good morning,” you greeted. “Did you sleep well?”
“I did. Thank you,” he replied.
You looked to your nightstand, checking your alarm clock. It read 9:57 AM. Sighing, you lifted your side of the covers to get out of bed but Tao pulled you back in, firmly maintaining you in his grasp.
“Stay,” he mumbled.
“Aren’t you hungry?” you asked.
He shook his head. “No. I just want to stay here, with you.”
You hummed, accepting to laze around just a bit longer. “5 more minutes then, because I have to go to work today,” you resolved.
He nodded, rotating you around so that you fit snugly against his chest. The soft vibrations from his purring threatened to lure you back into repose but you kept your eyes open as he slowly brushed his fingers aimlessly across your upper back. It was moments like these that made you wish you could slow down time to revel in forever.
