how famous is this scene though

♠ TERRORS » masterlist »  the child ♠

Summary: Have you ever thought IT has successfully become a human once in IT’s lifetime? Mr. Grey is what you call the young man that your young heart has beaten for. You unexpectedly fell in love for him even though you just knew him for the past few months. He’s a worker at your father’s saloon, the man that’s famous amongst the ladies in town, the skillful man who plays the saloon piano. But, the naïve little you don’t know about the dark truth he’s hiding to himself until now. (My own take and inspired by Bill Skarsgard’s interview about disturbing scenes cut from the movie on how IT became Pennywise.)

Word count: 3.8k

Warnings and Notes: some other crazy shits again, violence, strong language, gore, veeeeery long oneshot, death, and uhh… romance? And umm… Bill Skarsgard?

Vader and droids

dragonmonday45 replied to your post: Anakin and marginalized groups (p. I)

And yet when he BECAME a machine (Vader) he had no respect for machines. Though he did treat droids better than his own living crew. Ah, irony.

As much as I agree that Vader treats people and droids different than he did as Anakin, I wouldn’t say he has no respect for machines. Of course, all depends on sources we take account, but Vader in general is quite pragmatic person who can and is willing to use everyone around him for his own purposes - yet that doesn’t mean he is doing it for his own pleasure (as, for fun) or is unable to feel connection to others. As much as Vader is usually presented as ill-mannered, brash person ready to kill and destroy anyone or anything standing in his way, there are various examples through Expended Universe (of new canon and Legends) that provide more complex view of Vader. Including the way he treats droids.

I mean, it’s one thing how Vader interacts with droids like Triple Zero (0-0-0) and Bee Tee (BT-1) - a dangerous, very inteligent machines who love killing living organisms and who a) could betrayed him any moment and b) couldn’t be left unchecked for too long because of their psychotic behaviour. But then the same Darth Vader series gives us moments like that:

This is an unnamed droid that Vader used during his mission that allowed the Darth Lord of the Sith to gain important informations AND erase all traces of his own illegal activities. At first, it’s just a droid used in Vader’s shemes. Here, the way he put a hand on droid is the same thing Anakin did with Artoo. Even if this is just a old habit (and those die hard), this is physical show of familiarity / affection that Vader rarely shows to anyone. Of course, the droid must die to secure Vader’s secrets, but before the machine ends in cosmic space and destroys itself, there is that moment:

Vader is kneeling, to be “face to face” with the droid. He did something similar for his own men, who were either dying (clone trooper CT-4981 / Contrail) or seriously injured (Erv Lekauf). This droid - a machine - get from Vader much more respect than most people around him, especially during that comics storyline. Imperial officers, particularly those corrupted, incompetent or selfish were usually political threat to his plans or Empire’s welfare in general. Most of them were seen by Vader just as a tools to use. The difference between them and droid(s) is that Vader could trust machines.

hey guys I sure do bet you care about my opinions on this season since I’ve not been on tumblr for over six months! but I’ve been vague-anoning on itsalwayssunny’s tumblr, and I haven’t seen anyone considering the things I’m talking about. so I feel like yelling random thoughts at the tag and then disappearing into nothingness, while everyone’s too busy being happy about mac to care anyway.

SO first of all, some quick ‘hero or hate crime?’ meta:

there’s so many little things that made the impact of that ‘coming out’ scene so strong. aside from the obvious, like how it was his choice and how rob played that beautiful moment and everything that’s been giffed and covered up to now but also -

I love how mac has so clearly been doing his research, even though the etymology he quotes of the ‘f’ slur is a myth (but he probably googled it or something). he’s saying thoughts and arguments that anti-bigotry groups say (’why is the idea of sucking cock offensive?’). he’s quoting an urban legend that’s most famous from a chuck palahniuk story (a gay author who writes a lot about masculinity). I feel like he spent the last year ‘back in’ the closet marinating over it privately, and then -

I mean, they say he came out over $14. but actually he didn’t come out over anything. the ticket wasn’t scratched off yet. the ticket could have been absolutely worthless, but three different characters talk about how it represents something else. it’s a blank page, the potential for new possibilities and a new life. mac came out because he’s clearly thinking about it, and maybe his life would be just a little better for it. and a lot of the prize is swallowed up by the arbiters and the petty in-fighting and refusal to grow the arbitration represents, but in the end mac has his day, and he comes away richer than he was before, literally and not.

Hello again Everyone!

Today it’s time for The Blind Banker. BTS Reacts to You Being an Underground Rapper

Thanks for requesting! This was fun to write! Feel free to request more. I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful day!

-Admin Lex

He would be so immensely proud and not shocked at all. He’s heard your rapping skills before and it’s no surprise that you’re really popular in the underground scene.  However, when he goes to see you perform, he is always impressed by how good you are. How good you are at keeping beat and control of your breath. Most of all though, he is impress how much it seems effortless to you.

Once he found out, he began to low-key write songs for you. Which was amazing, because while you were a good rapper, you weren’t necessarily a good lyricist. Since he started out as an underground rapper, he made sure to remind you that it was possible to become something more than that. Famous even.

He instantly became your number one fan. He would try his best to go to all of your performances and cheer you on as much as he could. Even after it was over, he would go bragging around that you were the best rapper that night and no wonder everyone loved you.

Jungkook would want to freestyle with you all the time, sometimes you would go neck and neck but eventually he would give up. “How can you hold out a breath for so long?” Number one hypeman over here. He would make his own merch and show it off to everyone.

If he was being honest, he was completely clueless and in the dark that you were an underground rapper and apparently very good. You both were stopped by what you thought was originally a BTS fan, but when the fan asked for a picture with you. You had to tell Tae all about how you were an underground rapper and sometimes people recognize you outside.

Jimin knew pretty early in the relationship. You were a very upfront person, and your schedule had ruined a lot of past relationships. But he understood, and would even watch you perform when he wasn’t busy. Sometimes you’d get the occasional random fan in the middle of a date but he didn’t mind seeing as how you were so passionate.

Jin was shooketh. But not in a bad way. He found out through a friend of yours after he sort of got suspicious of you being out at all hours of the night. Once he found out what you were doing he didn’t really “confront” you about it. He sort of figured you would tell him when you were comfortable enough.

Hey, how would the Mystic Messenger boys react to an MC who draws manga and has a series? The genre if up to you or you don't even have to mention it. Thank you and sorry if I broke a rule (it's not opening on mobile for me I'm sorry ;-; )

//cries// this was my only MM request ;;

Jumin: When he finds out that you have your own series, Jumin looks into investing in it. He’s wondering if he can somehow get his company to have a branch that revolved around manga, that way he could make yours the star of it all. He’ll do anything to help you get your name even bigger if you want.

Zen: Considering he couldn’t draw to save his life, Zen is absolutely amazed that you were well enough to have your own series with an already established fan base. He was never a fan of reading manga, but picks up a few pieces by you so he can get a better understanding of what you do.

707: Of course Seven already knew that you had your own series and — oh my goodness! — would you please sign his copy? He’s a bit of a dweeb when he finally brings up your series with you, wanting to pick your brain about where you’re going to take the series next. You’ll tell him, won’t you?

Yoosung: He knew he’d recognized your name from somewhere! A classmate of his had lent him a book to your series once, telling him that you were a rather great up and coming manga artist. Yoosung is rather flustered and flabbergasted when he finally meets you; now he knows another famous person!

V: Though he couldn’t quite appreciate your manga for all it’s worth, considering his deteriorating eyesight, V still manages to praise all of your works. Call it a guilty whim of his, but he’s always wanted to ask you to draw a scene from one of the many photographs he’s taken, just to see your take on it.

Saeran: Having not grown up reading manga, Saeran doesn’t really know how he should feel about knowing that you were the artist behind a rather famous one. It definitely made it harder for him to sneak you away, considering a lot of people would notice if you suddenly went missing.

Bedroom in Arles at Night - Keyframe Process

The Loving Vincent team spent many months in our design painting process, working out how we were going to adapt Vincent van Gogh’s paintings for the story of Loving Vincent, such as re-imagining Vincent’s famous Bedroom in Arles for a scene set at night.

Our original storyboard and Van Gogh’s Bedroom in Arles

You can see that the storyboard panel is wider than Van Gogh’s original painting. Originally we were intending to make the film in the standard modern aspect ratio 16:9, but in the end we decided to use a 1.33:1 ratio for Loving Vincent, also known as Academy. Even though Vincent often painted his paintings very quickly, a lot of thought over weeks, often months and sometimes even years, had gone into the subject matter and the framing, so we felt that to be respectful to his artistic and intellectual work we should try to stay as close to his composition as possible.

To re-imagine Van Gogh’s original painting Bedroom in Arles, Loving Vincent design painter Wiktor Jackowski remained true to Vincent’s original for the floor, the bed, the chair, and the walls, but then he had take a completely different approach to the lighting. The original has flat lighting, and we wanted to have dramatic lighting to enhance the storytelling - in this scene we have the cold light of moonlight coming in through the window and the lamplight from the corridor throwing harsh shadows on the floor and the wall. Wiktor had to come up with an approach for night-time interior. Van Gogh had only painted two night interiors in his post-Paris colour style, which were both re-imaginings of other artists work, done while he was in St Remy Asylum in 1889.

Evening the Watch (after Milliet) / The Man is at Sea (After Demont Breton)

Wiktor decided instead to look for inspiration from Vincent’s Dutch period paintings. Indeed Vincent’s first masterpiece, The Potato Eaters, is an interior night scene.

The Potato Eaters / Bobbin Winder, both painted by Van Gogh in 1885

As well as The Potato Eaters Vincent also painted a number of low light interiors of weavers working in their cottages.  Particularly useful was Bobbin Winder, because it contained all the colours needed to build the night atmosphere. Wiktor used this as the basis for the sketch on the top right side below.

Keyframe sketches

For the bottom left Wiktor used as his night colour reference Starry Night over the Rhone, and the bottom right sketch was inspired by the colours in The Starry Night.

Starry Night over the Rhone (1888) and The Starry Night (1889)

The main challenge for Wiktor was imagining the colours in a completely different light situation, especially as Van Gogh did three versions of Bedroom in Arles, all painted in different colours. There was the additional complication of the fact that it has now been proven that the colours we are seeing today in the original are not what Vincent originally painted, as the famous blue walls are decayed from the lilac colour he actually painted them in.

Wiktor presented these options to Loving Vincent co-director Dorota Kobiela and she chose the ‘Starry Night over the Rhone’ colour direction, because it is the most contrasted and most dramatic. It was a happy accident that this painting was painted in the same period as Bedroom in Arles, and was the only one of the three directions based on a painting from Vincent’s Arles period.

The final keyframe

After re-watching The Tudors season 1 I’m blown away by how amazing Maria Doyle Kennedy’s performance of Katherine of Aragon was. She really is the reason to watch the show, as they don’t seem to invest much time into making Anne Boleyn a character with the exception of a few scenes. (thank god Natalie Dormer pushed for Anne to get a better storyline in season 2) Honestly, it’s such a good performance, even if she though she didn’t have Katherine’s famous red hair (which I believe she was pregnant at the time and couldn’t dye her hair) she still gave one of the best performances of Katherine of Aragon to date in my opinion.

The 24-year old has been doing his thing in Hollywood for the past several years, but his major break came when he slid onto the scene in 2015’s mega hit, Straight Outta Compton. In the film, he starred as Dr. Dre’s late younger brother Tyree. Since then, Powers has gone on to star in several TV series including Faking It and Recovery Road.

However, it was his stellar performance as New Edition icon Ronnie DeVoe in BET’s The New Edition Story that catapulted him to new heights. With that role, the Sacramento native proved he can literally do anything.

Currently, the former football player is heating up our screens as Jordan Wilder on Freeform’s Famous In Love. From the mind of Pretty Little Liar‘s Rebecca Serle and showrunner I. Marlene King, Famous In Love follows an ordinary college student Paige Townsen (Bella Thorne) who gets her big break in Hollywood and is catapulted into the spotlight. On the series, Powers stars as the sexy, stoic movie star Jordan Wilder who is trying to manage his personal life along with fame.

Recently, caught up with Keith Powers to chat about Famous in Love, his career aspirations and the TV shows that he’s currently obsessed with.

JET: Hi Keith, thank you so much for chatting with me today.

Keith Powers: Thanks for having me.

JET: Of course. Let’s talk about Freeform’s Famous in Love, which is your newest series. I’m loving it so far. It’s very different especially coming off of The New Edition Story. What drew you to this specific project and this script?

Keith Powers: Honestly, what really drew me in is the fact that Marlene [King] was doing it, and I saw what she did with Pretty Little Lairs. When the showrunner is very confident, it makes you very confident in that project. Also, who doesn’t want to be a part of that teenage drama ensemble, like 90210, Gossip Girl, or The O.C.?

JET: Oh of course!

Keith Powers: I actually read the book once I booked the show. Rebecca Serle, the creator, did an amazing job with portraying and showing how it really is in the acting world, and I think that helps too, in how realistic it was.

JET: For sure. So has your experience in Hollywood been as messy and complicated as the ones of the characters in Famous in Love?

Keith Powers: It’s messy to a certain extent. The messiness is something that even you probably don’t even see all the time even when you’re in behind the scenes. But, Famous in Love it does not exaggerate it, that’s what I love.

JET: Wow.

Keith Powers: That’s how it really goes down in the industry. Shady stuff goes down, messy stuff goes down, and it’s dope because I feel like when Rebecca or Marlene write things in the script, it’s like, we get to learn from it being actors ourselves.

JET: Yeah, for sure. One thing I really love about Jordan is the fact that, though he’s in the spotlight, he really tries to take the time to protect himself. He’s also never truly, intentionally malicious. Do you relate to him at all? Do you try and protect your inner circle and protect yourself while still interacting with your fans?

Keith Powers: Well, now I’m starting to learn in real life that I’m the type of guy that loves to engage. My whole thing is to engage with all the fans and supporters. I want them to all feel close to me and relate to me and support me for a long time. That’s the person I am; I think humility and everything is so important. However, with the fame coming in now, I have to do it more strategically and calculated. I can’t just do it and then it’s a moment, it passed.

JET: Right.

Keith Powers: Everything I do is recorded, saved or shared. So it’s like dang if that’s the case if I know that every little thing is being recorded, shared or saved then I have to be mindful of exactly what I put out there. That’s how I deal with that. Dealing with the fans and dealing with my personal life and trying to still let my fans see that, but at the same time keep some things to myself.

JET: How did you prepare for your role as Jordan?

Keith Powers: Well one, you’ve gotta know your material, you gotta know your lines. It’s always good to take extra time and dissect your character. It’s important to create a backstory for them so that everything has more intention and everything is more truthful. So I think it’s always good to sit back and think about all the characters that are in the film or whatever. What do they mean to your character?

JET: So what is it about Jordan that you can learn from as Keith, and what are some of the things that he does that you would never do as Keith?

Keith Powers: One thing I can learn is that and I already know this, but he loves his craft so much. He puts it first. He’s serious about it, and that’s what I love. He reminds me that it’s all about the craft at the end of the day. However, he does get into things, and then he’ll say, “I’ll just deal with it later.” He handles it, but he just puts himself in more trouble, and I learned that I would never do that because when you put yourself into trouble like that, it affects your work. In the series, he’s supposed to be shooting this big film, but he’s going through all this stuff. You forget that he’s even doing the film because he has all of this stuff going on. So I learn from that.

JET: In recent years you’ve done, Straight Outta Compton, The New Edition Story, Before I Fall, and Recovery Road among others. As a black male actor, you’ve really chosen these really great diverse projects. Why is that important to you?

Keith Powers: I just feel like as an actor, you want to be able to relate to everybody. You want to touch all these different types of demographics. You want to be able to have other people of different races, different cultures relate to who you are. I think that’s important for me to pick these roles that are so different, especially different from who I am. Just so people can see that and be like, “Man, I can see his range.” That’s why New Edition was so important to me because you see me dance, you see me do different accents, you see me have all these different wigs on. I was totally a different person.

JET: I know that before getting into acting and even before you got into modeling you loved to play football, so what else do you do when you’re not on set?

Keith Powers: I’m gonna tell you, I’m not really a complicated guy. I just like to kick it, play video games, I hit the gym, I love going to the movies a lot.

JET: Is there one film that you’ve seen this year, or television series that you’re really obsessed with?

Keith Powers: One film that I really liked was La La Land. I liked Get Out too. I really love La La Land though, some people, a lot of people actually don’t get it, but I don’t know what people could not like about it, I really liked it. I’m also a big Game of Thrones fan and Insecure and Atlanta. Those are my shows.

JET: Oh perfect, yes, Game Of Thrones finally coming back! We’ve been waiting forever. Atlanta is not coming back until 2018, but at least we have Insecure to look forward to soon.

Keith Powers: Yeah, it’ll be dope.

JET: So have you met one celeb or a musician or anyone yet in Hollywood that has left you starstruck?

Keith Powers: Yeah, Dr. Dre.

JET: So dope. I know that you played his younger brother in Straight Outta Compton. Did you get a chance to speak with him a lot?

Keith Powers: It would just be stuff about his brother mainly, just to help with the character, ’cause I just knew that my main focus was to just to make him feel happy about it, before anybody else because that’s his brother.

JET: For sure, so what are your ultimate goals as an actor? Do you want to do a Marvel franchise? Are you looking to win an Oscar?

Keith Powers: I want to be able to inspire people with my roles, and also I want to start producing my own films. Of course, anybody wants an Oscar, Golden Globe, Emmy, stuff like that, but you know that’s something I feel like is out of my control. All I can do is be the best actor that I can be because all that stuff is politics. But if I ever to win an Oscar, or Golden Globe, Emmy, it’ll be the best feeling in the world. That would be dope.

JET: So what’s next for you?

Keith Powers: I’ve got #REALITYHIGH coming out on Netflix. It’s a comedy. Other than that, I’m just working on booking more movies. I might be booking something very soon; I don’t want to say it yet, But, if everything goes through, it’ll be huge.

JET: Fantastic, and congratulations and thank you so much for speaking with me, Keith, I really appreciate it.

Keith Powers: I really appreciate it too.

Part 1 Part 2

“I gotta go… Talk to you later?”

Jared entered the room to find an excited Jensen smiling foolishly at his cellphone as he typed something.

“Obviously… Good luck (Y/N)”

Jensen typed back with the same smile, not even noticing Jared sitting  on a chair near the couch where he was lying, eyeing him with a raised brow and a playful smile.

“Okaaaay.” Jared said with a clap of his hands, making his friend jump and send him a confused look.

“What the fuck man!” Jensen said, moving into a sitting position. “For how long have you been here?”

“Just enough to see your heart eyes towards your phone.” Jared laughed while Jensen rolled his eyes. “(Y/N)?”

“Yeah…” Jensen smiled again. “She’s driving me crazy.”

“I don’t think I’ve seen you like this since forever.” Jared said happily. “And you haven’t even gone out together yet. By the way… Why haven’t you asked her out?”

“I have. But she’s in England.” Jensen answered with a shrug. “She had to sort some things out with the Sherlock production and…” They were interrupted by Gen and little Tom entering the room.

“Uncle Jensen!” Tom yelled, running to Jensen’s arms.

“Hey, little guy!”

“Don’t I get a hello too?” Jared said pretending to be mad, and Tom immediately went from Jensen’s to his father’s arms.

“Tom, why don’t you go put your things in your room so we can start the cake?” Gen asked her son, who nodded and disappeared inside the house. Gen sat at Jared’s lap, kissing his lips slightly before hugging Jensen.

“Where’s Shep?” Jensen asked, missing the little one.

“My sister has him today.” Jared explaind and Jensen nodded with an “Aaah”.

“So, what were you two boys talking about?” Gen asked when she saw Jared’s smile, and Jensen rolled his eyes.

“About Jen(Y/N).” Jared laughed as he said the name of the ship.

“Aww, I ship you guys so much!” Gen said cheerfully, making Jensen laugh.

“Yeeeah, right. She’s just excited because you’re dating, and Gen’s like, her number one fan.” Jared said, making Gen open her mouth in indignation and slap his shoulder.

“C'mon, Gen! We all know it’s true.” Jensen laughed, earning a pillow to the face, though it didn’t make him stop. “I even saw the two of you at the PCA.” Gen’s cheeks went red, and Jared laughed wholeheartedly.

“Did you stalk the girl that much, Jensen? Honestly, I expected more from you.” Gen offered back, and Jensen’s cheeks went red as the couple laughed.

“I didn’t stalk her, okay? I was just looking for the pictures at the event and found one of you two.” He explained, but before anyone could go on with the conversation, Tom barged into the room ready to make his cake.

“Well, I’ll be going then.” Jensen said as he stood and waved at everyone.
Before he left, his phone buzzed with another message from (Y/N):

“Good news! In two days I’ll be back in America :)”

Jared rolled his eyes at Jensen’s smiles towards his phone, and watched as his friend walked towards the exit, closing the door of the Padalecki’s.

You were lying on your bed with only the lingerie you’d be wearing tonight, watching whatever was on the TV while playing with your phone, in the exact same position from when you first arrived at America the day before.

You were exhausted when you arrived. After the Comic Con and the PCA, the Sherlock cast was set to do a convention in London, which took four days. Besides the dinner Benedict had at his house after the event. It was all wonderful, but extremely tiring.

Louise had agreed to come to America with you, but when she found out you’d be going out with Jensen she soon made up an excuse not to co,e and leave you with an empty house to do whatever you want with the empty house. As if something would happen, though you really wished it would.

You and Jensen had been talking for days and he’d asked where you wanted to go. You just told him to take you somewhere you could enjoy the evening without any interruptions from any fans, and he immediately told you he already had a place in mind. But he refused to tell you where.

You texted him your address and he said he’d pick you up at nine. It was already seven and you had no idea what to wear, after all you didn’t even know where you were going!

After a while talking to Louise, you chose a simple, loose black dress that tied around the waist. It wasn’t much, but if you happened to go somewhere fancy, it’d still do.

It was almost nine and you were freaking out. You were about to go out with your biggest crush from your favorite series. Could it get any better? Definitely not. You were extremely nervous! And yes, you might have been talking with him for days, but whenever the phone would beep, your heart would do the same.

You were used to the British punctuality, but you definitely weren’t expecting him to be there at exactly 9:05. The elevator seemed to be taking forever to arrive, only making you more nervous and anxious. When you finally got to the lobby, you saw him sitting in one of the chairs in the reception.

He looked amazing.

Just absolutely amazing.

He wore jeans and a dark blue button up shirt. It wasn’t much either, but he looked more handsome than ever. When he saw you, he got up smiling, which made you smile as well as it made your heart skip a beat.

“Heey.” He greeted while the two of you hugged, and his delicious smell had you smiling even more. “You look beautiful.” He eyed you from head to toe as he stepped back.

“You don’t look bad yourself.” You said the ever so cliche answer, making the both of you laugh. He offered you his arm, which you gladly took as you followed him to his car. He was a complete gentleman, opening and closing the door for you as you got in.

He steered into the road, and you decided to commence a conversation.

“Soo… Where’re you taking me?” He laughed, glancing at you.

“You really think I’d have kept it such a mystery up till now so I could just blow it by telling you?” He said and you groaned in anticipation. “C'mon (Y/N), it’ll be worth it. Everything is better with a touch of surprise.”

“Fair enough.” You answered and he soon turned on the radio, so you started a conversation about music as he drove.

“And we’re here.” He said and you looked at the little restaurant with two floors that led to the seashore, and your mouth cracked open in surprise. It was beautiful. You hopped out of the car and when you entered the restaurant, you could see exactly how the inside was. It was pretty simple, but there were candles in all the tables, a classical decoration, flowers everywhere and a few christmas lights on the ceilings. It was pretty cozy.

“Jensen, this is beautiful!” You said in admiration, and saw him smiling from the corner of your eyes.

“I’m glad you liked it. It’s my childhood friend’s treasure, and since it’s not very well-known, I thought it’d be the ideal place.” You looked at him with a thankful smile, but as you opened your mouth to speak, a little man appeared in front of you.

“Jensen! I’m so glad you’re here!” He said, and Jensen let go of your hand to greet him. “And you must be (Y/N)! It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Henry.” He approached you and came to kiss your cheek.

“The pleasure’s all mine. Your restaurant is beautiful.” You said and he thanked you with a proud voice.

“Look, I booked you two the best place here, it’s just up the stairs and voilà.” He said and you thanked him, Jensen caught a hold of your hand again and you followed him to the stairs.

“Henry and I did High School together back in Texas. He started dating a girl at the time and they ended up marrying and opening this place, since both love to cook.” He explained when you got to the second floor, that had a few tables and a thin curtain, and it seemed you were heading towards it.

“Woah, it’s rather hard to stay so much time together, right?” You said and he agreed smiling.

“If they ever broke up I think I’d stop believing in love.” He said and you smiled, he opened the curtain and you were left speechless again. It was the only table near the balcony. It was as beautiful as the rest of the place.

“Like what you see?” Jensen pulled the chair for you.

“I love it.”

You answered as you watched him sit in front of you. Each day you were more and more certain you were living a dream.

Soon, a waiter came with a bottle of wine and served the both of you before handling you the menu.

“I don’t know much about wine, but of all the wines I had, this is certainly the best.” He said raising his glass for a toast. And when you drank it… It was really delicious.

“God, why hadn’t I ever tasted this before?” You said and he laughed.

“It’s not really popular I guess. Weird, right?” He said and you agreed.

“There’s this wine that I always drink back home and it’s really typical in England. When you go there, I’ll take you out to drink it.” You offered and he smiled.

“I love England. It’s been a while since we’ve been there.”

“The cast. We usually go there for conventions.” He explained and you let out an ‘Ahh’.  The waiter reappeared to take in the orders, and the both of you decided to go for the specialty of the house: pasta. “But back to the conversation, you were in a convention a few days ago, right?”

“Yeah! We normally don’t go to that many conventions, so when it happens, it usually lasts for days.” You explained, and you could tell that he was actually interested.

“How were you cast to Sherlock? Did you audition or did they call you in?” He asked.

“I’d never really done many important roles in my life, so I had to audition.” You answered. “You?”

“Auditioned, too. Though I actually auditioned for Sam, but ended up getting the role for Dean.” He said, and after that you started talking about your work. About how you’d get nervous on your first scene, how it was to work with the casts, about the fans, pranks, everything. He told you things no site of Supernatural knew of, and you did the same. It was fascinating. Hearing about your favorite series from that man you soon found out also had a beautiful personality was amazing.

You were just finishing the food - which was wonderful - when you remembered a game the Sherlock cast used to play with the new members of the series.

“Hmm…” You mumbled as you finished the last bit of the pasta. “We talked about a bunch of things, but we haven’t asked the basic first date questions.

“Which are…?” He asked with a little smile.

“Favorite color, music, hobbies, those kind of things.” You shrugged and he smiled more. “Let’s do it like this: I’ll say two things and you pick one of them. I’ll do the same after.”

“Okay.” He answered, finding your spontaneity funny and rather adorable. He’d dare say that was the best date he’d ever had.

Jensen lifted from his seat, pulling you by the hand so you were leaning on the balcony and staring at the view ahead.

“Red or blue?” You asked, and he didn’t even have to think to answer.

“Blue.” He said. “Black or white?”

“Black.” You said. “The guitar or the piano?”

“Guitar. I play it a little.” He answered and you let out a ‘seriously?’, surprised and happy for having discovered that.

“Someday you’ll play it for me.”

“For sure I will.” He laughed and went on with the game. “Sherlock or Supernatural?”

“That’s a low strike, Ackles.” You answered, making him throw his head back with laughter. “But, though I love Supernatural, I’m faithful to my series. Sherlock.”

“I’ve my doubts.” He laughed, earning a slight punch to his arm.
“Jared or Sam?”

“Sam.” He didn’t even hesitate, and when your eyes widened, he laughed. “I’m just kidding. Jared. Hmm… Sushi or risotto?”

“Sushi.” You said and gathered the courage to ask the next question, with your heart in your hands. “Slow kiss or quick kiss?”

“Slow.” He answered, leaning closer to you, running his finger slightly through your cheek. Your lips trembled in anxiety. “What about you?”

“Slow.” You said, feeling his lips touch yours. You felt him smile, as your eyes were closed.

“I’m glad we have this in common.” And with that, he kissed you. The kissed, as previously said, was slow. You were exploring one another, experimenting that new sensation. And at least for you, a sensation so good that could be vicious. Your arms wrapped around his neck while his hand that wasn’t on your nape wrapped around your waist, holding you tightly. After a few seconds like this, his other arm also wrapped around your waist and your hands went to cup his cheeks. He nipped on your lower lip, and when you were about to do the same, you were interrupted by the waiter.

“Oh… I’m sorry, I…” He began, embarrassed, and you felt your cheeks heat up as you separated from him.

“It’s okay.” Jensen tried to call him. “We were about to go pay the bill.” The waiter nodded, disappearing behind the curtain as you followed Jensen through the same path.

“And our moment is over.” You said with a pout, making him smile and hold your hand.

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that.”

Oops. Heart racing again.

You two payed the bill… More like he did. He didn’t allow you to pay. You exchanged goodbyes with henry and he said he was sorry his wife couldn’t make it tonight to meet you. You promised to come back and left to the car. You talked the whole way back home, and Jensen drove with one of his hands placed a bit above your knee.

When you arrived, he turned ti you and ran his fingers through your cheeks when you said.

“Jensen, this night was wonderful. Thanks you for everything.” You said and he smiled.

“Thank you, (Y/N). I really liked today.” He said and you were soon kissing again, and this time his hand was firmly gripping your tight.  You stayed like that for some time, but when things started to get steamier you moved away. Not that you wanted to stop, but that was the best man you’d ever been out with, you wouldn’t let it become a one night stand.

“I should go.” You said lowly, making him ‘wake up’ from his trance.

“Yes, of course.” He said as he separated farther from you.

“Goodnight, Jensen.” You said, giving him one last quick kiss. “Thanks again.” You left the car as he lowered the passenger window.

“Bye, (Y/N).” He watched you reach the door, turn and wave again. “I’ll call you.”

“I’ll pick up.” You said as you entered the lobby and he laughed. He stopped for a minute, smiling to himself thinking about what had just happened, that he had finally met someone he liked. Then he turned the car on and drove off.
You, however, couldn’t even wait to get home, sliding your way down to the floor of the elevator, smiling like a fool to yourself.

May I request a 4/4 where you're being harassed by fans and another band member protects you :)

Here you go, lovely! I’m sorry it took me so long, but I hope you like it <3

“Ready?” Ashton asks, his hand gripping yours unusually tightly.

You take one last nervous glance at the large crowd of girls that are standing outside of the hotel you’re in. You nod and everyone immediately begins moving forward.

This is one of the down sides to dating a world famous rock star. It’s not that you don’t like the fans, because most of them can be quite lovely, but the crowds can sometimes make you feel a bit overwhelmed.

Ashton tries his best to keep the crowds away from you, but unfortunately there is no other way out of this hotel. You have to walk through the sea of screaming people outside.

The screams amplify as soon as the doors open and Luke and Calum head out first. The girls go crazy and start reaching across the barriers in an attempt to grab them. Their security guards keep a tight hold on the boys as they maneuver them quickly through the crowds in order to avoid any injuries.

You hold your breath, hoping that this goes smoother than you think it will. Another security guard ushers you, Ashton, and Michael forward and the three of you walk out.

The screams get impossibly louder, and after a few seconds it gets to the point where you let go of Ashton’s hand to place your hands over your ears in an attempt to block them out. It’s too loud out here for you to think, and you can feel yourself starting to panic.

Ashton tries to reach back and grab you as soon as you let go of him, but security continues ushering him forward until you can no longer see him. You freeze. Not having Ashton with you makes you start to freak out even more and you’re almost to the point of tears.

Then you feel someone’s hands on your waist and you nearly turn around to punch whoever it is until you see Michael’s familiar blonde hair. You sigh in relief as he gives you a reassuring nod and smoothly guides you through the crowd and toward the waiting bus.

His hands never leave you as the security guards continue making a human wall around the two of you to block out the girls that are trying to claw at Michael.

The ringing in your ears is so loud that you can’t hear anything that Michael is saying to you, but you can see his lips moving out of the corner of your eye. He’s probably trying to keep you calm, but he should know that it’s pretty much a lost cause right now.

It seems like forever before you finally reach the bus and the doors open slightly to let the two of you slide in. As soon as you’re inside, Michael’s hands let go of you and Ashton’s replace them.

He pulls you tightly against his chest and you finally feel your lungs starting to open up again. He suddenly pulls away and looks at you quizzically. He mouths something, but you still can’t hear very well.

You point up to your ear and say, “My ears are ringing, I can’t hear a thing.”

He nods, realization washing over him. You see him give Michael a grateful pat on the back before he leads you back to the bunks. The two of you cuddle in his bunk and as your hearing comes back, you can hear Ashton softly singing you to sleep.

“Calum! Can we get a picture, please?” A blonde girl asks, pointing to herself and a young girl beside her.

Calum smiles and nods, giving you a quick peck on the cheek before making his way over to them. You, Calum, and Ashton have been out at the mall doing some last minute shopping for Luke’s birthday.

You’ve already gotten him a gift because you’re a great friend. Calum tried to get you put his name on it as well, but you said no. That left him and Ashton with no gift and no idea what to get for him.

The day has been relatively calm. Ever since Calum’s band started to get more famous, anywhere you go people seem to recognize him, and sometimes it turns into a huge scene. Today, though, only a few people have stopped you guys. You usually just stand off to the side and let the fans have their moment with the boys. You know how much it means to them, and you don’t want to be in the way.

Right now, Calum is still carrying on a conversation with the blonde girl, and Ashton is somewhere behind you talking to another small group of fans that have gathered. You’re awkwardly leaning up against a wall, holding a few of your bags in one of your hands and scrolling through your phone with your other hand.

You’re lifted from your trance when someone taps you on the shoulder. You smile when you see a girl, probably fifteen or sixteen, wearing a 5SOS t-shirt. Fans recognize you sometimes because Calum posts a lot of pictures with you.

“Hello,” you say politely.

The girl’s face goes from indifferent to angry in a split second, and before you know it, she’s pouncing on you. She’s a bit taller than you despite being younger, and she immediately knocks you to the ground, her attack taking you completely by surprise.

You drop your phone and your bags and you hear people yelling as the girl starts hitting you. You flail in an attempt to get her off of you, but you can hardly see what you’re doing. You’re too panicked.

Someone finally lifts her off of you, and next thing you know, you’re being picked up in someone’s arms. You look up and see that Ashton is holding you, his worried eyes trained on your face.

He carries you for a short distance before finally setting you on a bench far away from the commotion. You look around for Calum, but you don’t see him.

“Where’s Calum?” You ask nervously. “Is he okay?”

Ashton squats down so that his eyes are level with yours. He’s still looking at you worriedly and his hand gently reaches up and touches your forehead.

You don’t understand what he’s doing until he pulls his hand away and you see that there’s blood on it. You immediately reach up and touch that part of your forehead and you feel a cut.

“Damn,” you mumble.

“Yeah we should probably get you to a hospital or something,” Ashton says.

You shake your head. “I’m alright,” you assure him. “She just took me by surprise. I wasn’t exactly expecting that,” you say, forcing a nervous laugh.

Suddenly you hear someone yell your name and you turn around to see Calum running toward you. His eyes widen when he sees the cut on your head and he immediately engulfs you in a hug when he reaches you.

“Oh my god, (Y/N), I’m so sorry! I was talking to some girls and then I heard a bunch of yelling, but by the time I turned around there were so many people in my way that I couldn’t see what was happening. And then some girls told me that you were attacked and I started freaking out because I couldn’t find you and-,”

“Cal,” you say, cutting him off. “Breathe. I’m okay.”

“No you’re not! Look at your head! Oh my god, this is all my fault. I should’ve brought security with us,” he says, his face flooding with guilt.

You shake your head. “You can’t live life with a security guard around you at all times, Cal. This was just a freak thing. Ashton was there to keep everything under control,” you say, reaching out to place your hand on Ashton’s arm.

Ashton gives you a weak smile and Calum immediately pulls Ashton in for a hug.

“Thanks for keeping her safe,” Calum says, his voice slightly muffled by the fabric of Ashton’s shirt.

Ashton nods before pulling away and glancing at you. “Of course, Calum. She’s family.”

You and the boys are all out to dinner enjoying a rare evening with just the five of you. You’re sitting between your boyfriend, Luke, and your best friend, Calum. You’ve been friends with the boys for years, and it’s difficult not getting to see them much, especially since you and Luke are now together.

But unfortunately, with fame comes touring, fans, and a lot of work. So even though the boys have been back from tour for almost a month now, you still hardly get to see them.

You’ve all finished your meals already, but nobody is ready to leave. You all are having too much fun catching up with each other that you hardly even notice how late it’s getting.

Pretty soon, you guys are the last ones in the restaurant. Your waitress comes to the table and smiles politely.

“I don’t mean to alarm you,” she says softly. “But there is a large crowd of people waiting outside. I wasn’t sure why they were here at first, but since you are the only ones left, I would assume they’re waiting for you.”

Everyone’s heads immediately turn toward the door and you can see that there are a good many people sitting outside waiting for the boys to walk out. Calum chuckles nervously.

“Yeah, I think they’re waiting for us,” he says. “You boys ready?”

Michael and Ashton nods, and Luke gives him an uneasy look.

“Hey, um, you guys can stay and talk to them,” Luke says. “I think (Y/N) and I are gonna head home. We haven’t really had very much time to ourselves yet, and I have to be at the studio super early tomorrow morning.”

They all nod understandingly as everyone stands up. Everyone has already paid for their meals and Ashton pulls out his wallet to leave the waitress a tip. Luke puts his arm around your waist and pulls you close to him.

Ashton and Michael say ‘goodbye’s to the waitress and the other staff who are still lingering around the restaurant before opening the door and walking out.

The fans outside immediately jump up and start screaming and shoving cameras at them. The boys are pretty used to this by now, so it hardly fazes them.

Calum walks out next, and you and Luke are close to follow. Calum stops to talk to some fans, and a few girls try to get Luke’s attention. He gives them a polite smile, but continues walking toward the parking lot where his car is waiting.

“Hey!” A girl yells, her hand reaching out and grabbing your arm.

She yanks you to a stop and Luke is pulled to a stop as well. You turn to look at her, a little irritated with how tightly she was gripping your arm.

“You’re such a bitch, you know that?” The girl yells, silencing the rest of the crowd. “Luke used to stop and talk to us with the others, but now because of you, he won’t. Why don’t you just go die?”

Even though you’re fairly accustomed to hate at this point, her words still sting a bit. You can feel Luke tensing up beside you, but before he can do anything, Calum comes over and carefully pulls the girl away from you.

“(Y/N) is a great person,” Calum says, a bit of anger behind his gentle eyes as he stares at the girl. “She’s one of my best friends and she makes Luke happy, so don’t you dare try to tell anyone that she’s a bitch. It wasn’t even her who wanted to get out of here, it’s Luke. He loves you guys and you know that, but we’ve been up at five A.M. every morning and staying out until midnight for the past two weeks working on songs for the next album, and to be honest we’re all exhausted. As much as we love and appreciate everything you guys do for us, sometimes we just have to take a break from it, okay? I hope everyone understands that. If you want someone to blame, blame us for being human. Don’t blame (Y/N).”

The other fans start applauding and the girl suddenly seems ashamed of her actions. She backs away and fades into the crowd and Luke pulls you against him for a tight hug.

“You okay?” He whispers, his lips only centimeters from your ear.

You nod, and pull away. You glance back at Calum and smile. You walk over to him and give him a light kiss on the cheek.

“Thanks, Cal,” you say.

He blushes and smiles. “Anytime.”

“You’re sure there’s no other way out?” Michael asks for the hundredth time.

The hotel manager gives him an apologetic smile as she shakes her head again. You’ve been on tour with the boys for a few weeks now, and usually everyone is pretty good about keeping what hotel you guys are at a secret. Unfortunately, this one got leaked, and now there are hundreds of screaming fans waiting outside.

Michael has always tried his hardest to keep the crowds away from you. You two spend most of your time together inside watching movies or playing video games, because any time you go out, it turns into a riot.

You have extremely bad social anxiety, and being around crowds doesn’t exactly help it. You can hardly even look at a crowd without having a panic attack, and your throat is tightening at the thought of having to walk through one.

Michael squeezes your hand and you look up at his worried expression. He turns to the boys, desperate for a solution. He knows how bad your panic attacks can be, and the last thing he wants is to cause one.

“Maybe you guys can go out, and (Y/N) and I will just spend another night here. The crowds should be gone by tomorrow, right?” He asks hopefully.

Ashton shakes his head. “Our flight leaves tonight, Mike. We have to go now.”

You nod, your eyes wandering as you find it difficult to focus on anything.

“It’ll be fine,” you whisper, trying to assure yourself as well as the others.

Michael sighs, knowing that there’s no way around this. “Okay,” he finally says. “But Calum, you and Ashton go in front of us, and Luke stay behind us. Let’s try to keep (Y/N) in the middle so no one can grab her, okay?”

The boys all nod and they form a tight circle around you. Someone opens the hotel’s doors and you all walk outside. You want to close your eyes, but you have to keep them open in order to see where you’re going.

You fix your eyes on the back of Ashton’s shirt as you stumble your way through the screaming mess of people. There are some security guards trying to hold some people back, but there aren’t nearly enough to hold off everyone.

Suddenly, Michael is ripped away from your side and you look up, panicking as you see him being dragged away by some girl. More people are grabbing at all of the boys, trying to drag them away, and you feel your knees becoming weak.

You keep trying to glance back to see where Mikey is, but you can’t see anything as tears start to blur your vision. You hear Luke’s voice yelling above the crowd and you can feel his large hands on your shoulders.

“(Y/N),” he yells. “Just breathe, okay? Michael is fine, security’s got him. We have to get to the bus.”

You nod, but you can’t seem to find the will to move. You can see that the other two boys have already walked ahead, leaving you and Luke in the middle of the chaos. Before you can understand what’s happening, you see Luke bend down and signal for you to get on his back.

You do what he says and hop on, letting him give you a piggy back ride as you bury your head in his shoulder. You try to regulate your breathing as you inhale the scent of Luke’s cologne.

A few seconds later, the screams die down a bit and you look up and see that you’re now on the bus. You and Luke are both breathing heavily as he sets you down and turns around to place his hands on your shoulders again.

“You okay?” He asks.

You nod, your breathing starting to calm down. “Where’s Michael?”

As if on cue, the bus door opens up and Michael is shoved through. He glances around wildly before his eyes land on you and he breathes a sigh of relief. He rushes over to you and pulls you into his arms.

“Thank god you’re alright,” he says.

You nod against his chest. “Luke kept me calm,” you say.

Michael looks up at Luke and gives him a smile. “Thanks, man. I owe you one.”

anonymous asked:

can you recommend me some romantic comedy movies ???

Can I? CAN I? Fuck yes I can, let’s do this.

1. The Proposal

Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock star in this movie about a boss from hell who is about to be deported, so she forces her assistant to marry her so that she can get a green card. This is every single fake dating fic you’ve ever read in action, as well as the enemies to lovers trope well at play. Reynolds and Bullock were bros for years before filming, and their friendship allows for ease when it comes to acting together– you can tell that they had fun filming.

This isn’t your usual rom com, in that the two lead actors and exquisite ensemble cast (including, yes, Betty White) make it so fucking funny. It’s directed by a woman, who knows what women like, but also allows her story and the characters to be smart as a whip, which is so refreshing. It follows the marriage plot pattern, but gets there in a fun, unique way that doesn’t always feel like you’re watching a rom com. Also, if you hate cheese, this movie has minimal cheese. The moments where it is cheesy are the moments when you’ll be desperate for some good ol’ fashioned love because the romantic tension is just Too Much.

I have a friend who hates romantic movies and she adores this movie. That’s how you know it’s good.

2. Bridget Jones’ Diary

Bridget Jones is about to turn thirty years old and she is still single, still chubby, and still making hella bad decisions. Enter Mark Darcy, who is an uptight, recently divorced lawyer who Bridget dislikes almost instantly due to his standoffish personality.

If you can’t tell just from this description (the love interest’s name is a pretty good clue) Bridget Jones’ Diary is just one of Colin Firth’s versions of Mr. Darcy.

The book was written by a woman, who also helped write the script, and the movie was directed by a woman as well. It’s fun, full of hijinks (and secondhand embarrassment, dear god) and everybody should watch as many Colin Firth movies as humanly possible anyways. (Hugh Grant is the Wickham character, too, which is always a bonus.)

3. Bride & Prejudice

Speaking of Pride & Prejudice adaptations, this one is one of my favorites of all time. It is a Bollywood Musical adaptation, starring the incredibly gorgeous Aishwarya Rai, who plays the Elizabeth character beautifully. This movie is a feast for the eyes– the colors are stunning, the costumes are stunning, the sights are stunning. It shows beautiful representations of familial and platonic relationships as well as romantic ones. It was also directed by a woman, and written by a husband and wife team.

There’s something so gorgeous and pure about this movie. It’s one of my favorite films of all time and I am absolutely unapologetic about that. Featuring songs such as “No Life Without Wife” and gems such as “Some women have even become… The lesbian!” This movie is, I think, a must see.

4. Notting Hill

Just one rom com variant of the famous AU that you will probably love. Hugh Grant plays a character who owns a travel bookstore. Julia Roberts plays a famous actress. When they meet by chance a few times, they slowly begin to fall for each other.

There’s something so lovely and pure about this movie. It’s just… soft and nice, like you’re drawing a warm blanket over yourself. The grand gesture at the end is fantastic, but that’s not the part that will make you watch the movie again– it’s the scenes in the middle, when Anna is staying at Will’s house and they’re growing together as friends but possibly something more. It’s just… it’s so nice. As a viewer, it feels so good.

Favorite line: “Happiness isn’t happiness without a violin playing goat.”

5. 13 Going On 30

Jenna Rink, sick of being thirteen-years-old and on the brink of adulthood, makes a wish that she could be thirty (thirty, flirty, and thriving.) When she wake sup, she’s thirty and (*gasp*) HAS BOOBS. The first thing she does, of course, is look up her best friend from childhood, who she hasn’t been friends with for years. It looks like she got her dream life, but left huge pieces of herself behind along the way.

This is the first PG-13 movie I was allowed to watch, and if I had to guess, I would say that it’s probably the movie I have watched and rewatched the most in my life. I think I can quote this movie word-for-word. It’s funny in a way that isn’t mean, which I think is very rare these days? The fact that Jenna is a thirteen year old makes the humor in this movie a delight. And the film, as a whole, has a rose colored lense that just makes the world seem prettier. Mundane things that people take for granted seem nice and fun and important. It’s weird, because I think it makes adult life seem simpler. Like… just be nice and treat other people well. Why do we over complicate it?

Also Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo are both adorable. It’s the kind of movie that you watch when you’re sad, when you’re happy, when you’re sick, when you’re bored. Watching it feels warm and content. I would rec it to anybody who wants to smile.

(This list has 26 films on it so I’m putting the rest of this under a read more.)

Ron Anderson TWD - The Meta

okay, let’s do this. i want to get this out of my system. i rewatched 6x09 just to reopen the wound so this should be good. :)

The wasted character - Ron Anderson

the majority of the fandom hated Ron (scratch that - the whole Anderson family). which was deliberately supposed to happen i think (oops). like i’ve mentioned in my 6x09 meta post they created the kid for one purpose only and that was shooting Carl’s eye out but of course he couldn’t just do that randomly right…? they had to give Ron reasons thus giving the character depth. they had to make him three-dimensional. they had to create a path which led to him pointing the gun at the Grimes’. and i gotta admit they did a pretty fucking awesome job because Ron was as three-dimensional as a character can get under this short period of time. that’s the reason why i love him so much. the eyerony of this shit is - pun intended - they created this amazing build up just to have Ron shoot Carl ACCIDENTALLY. WHAT? IF YOU’RE GOING THERE WHY NOT MAKE HIM DO IT ON PURPOSE? BECAUSE IT WOULD’VE ACTUALLY MADE SENSE THAT WAY? BECAUSE THAT WAY YOU WOULD’VE ACTUALLY GIVE THIS CHARACTER SOME RESPECT? WHAT’S LOGIC? WHAT’S LIFE? and that is what i think makes Ron such a wasted potential. they created such a raw and honest and flawed character JUST to do the “dirty” work. the growth this kid could’ve had and wasting a redemption arc like this are both fucking unbelieveable.

what is also fucking unbelieveable is the amount of hatred this character’s got from the fandom. of course the show is operating with characters who have been on TWD since s1. it’s not surprising that fans tend to not be open at first when new characters are introduced. which is fine. it’s a normal reaction. i didn’t really like Ron at first either. but i do find that ridiculous when someone loves and understands a character like Daryl Dixon - and we all know what he’s been through - but they just CAN’T understand and/or sympathize with Ron’s situation…are you aware that Daryl and Ron are basically two sides of the same coin? you call a grown ass man with a past like his ‘precious misunderstood baby’ for example but a teenager is ‘a trash asshole’. congratulations hypocrite. (note: i love Daryl please leave my head on.)

and now let’s have a closer look on Ron’s life shall we because apparently there are people in the fandom who think he didn’t have any reason to hate Rick. or to be troubled. [coughs] [pulls out long ass list out of thin air jESUS GIRL CALM DOWN] where do i start: domestic abuse (both done to you and your family) + people turning their heads in the other way in your community and basically ignoring the domestic violence because they need the abuser for medical reasons + father killed by the new guy who thinks he’s God (abusive asshole or not it’s still traumatic) + mom is romantically interested in the same guy who killed dad + girfriend is romantically interested in mini-God (Carl) + probably having no one to talk to + having to adapt to the end of the world under little to no time + mom and brother eaten alive in front of you (bonus: *chop chop*) = damaged goods…[Rebel Wilson voice] whoop there it is. call THIS an easy life.

and for the people who say he was an asshole to begin with please stop talking and watch the very first interaction between Ron and Carl. he’s just the most gentle and kindest baby.

The wasted talent: Austin Abrams

Austin killed it. his portrayal of Ron’s inner turmoil was insanely good. what i particularly like about Austin is that he’s acting and talking with hands, eyes, face, voice, body at the same time and it’s in “harmony”. that’s a hard fucking thing to do. and he nailed this “harmony” in every fucking scene he had. I could smyphatize with Ron because the portrayal felt real and that’s why I wanted more and more and more of this character. and I did. I still do but 6x09’s happened…

The wasted relationship: Ron x Carl

The love triangle: so I don’t know what’s the reason but it seems like writers are obsessed with the 'OMG LET’S MAKE A LOVE TRIANGLE’ idea. to quote @gr8writingtips “writing tip #1374: instead of a love triangle try doing literally anything else”. it’s boring, it’s superficial and it’s the most cliche of all the cliches. this show is on its 6th season. it can’t just disrespect its audience with a love triangle. i mean come on. character development, interaction between the characters, backstories of the characters, bonding between the characters. these are what most of the fans are interested in at this point.

Ron x Carl - The friendship: let me ask you a question TWD writers? why the fuck do you hate one of your main characters so much? when was the last time Carl had a friend around his age? or had a decent interaction or bonding experience with the people on the show (except Judith)? do you realize what kind of friendship could have been between these two? with Carl teaching Ron how to live and survive in this world? supporting each other and protecting each other on runs? i wanted to see Ron learn how this life works. i wanted to see them interact. would have watched the shit out of these two becoming best friends.

Ron x Carl - The relationship: so here’s the thing. these kids had INSANE chemistry. AND THE SHOW HAS DECIDED TO DO NOTHING WITH IT! YOU HAVE DECIDED TO GO WITH SOMETHING AS CLICHE AS A LOVE TRIANGLE! YOU COULD HAVE MADE CARL GRIMES BISEXUAL (and of course Ron too). DO YOU REALIZE HOW AMAZING THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN? HAVING ONE OF YOUR MAIN MALE CHARACTERS BISEXUAL? THERE’S YOUR ORIGINAL IDEA AMC! reasons: representation in this fucking show is very rare. if you would have gone through with this idea the love triangle could have actually create a great base for the relationship (frenemies-friends-lovers and who’s not a sucker for that trope). you don’t ignore the obvious chemistry. insane character development for both Ron and Carl (if you still go through with Ron’s family dying and Carl’s getting shot but with not Ron shooting Carl’s eye out and not making Ron watch how Rick chops his mom’s hand off). cute scenes between these two i mEAN HAVE YOU SEEN THE HANDHOLDING (dat post got me famous what up)?!?!!? Enid just being her own badass self and teasing and supporting the boys and being grossed out by all the love and have them as her best friends without being a love interest…i mean COME ON.

to quote @indie-arrow “bitter little espresso deserved better”.

Bonus: Jessie and Sam

like i said they HAD to make Ron three-dimensional. they didn’t have a choice. in Jessie and Sam’s case though they had and they chose to go with the easier path which was making both of them this weird 2D/3D mix of a characters. and it seems like they made these two more two-dimensional than three-dimensional. i think that’s why they seemed kinda simple. like in Sam’s case his fearfulness was enhanced thus introducing him as a coward which was totally not the case if you look closer and think but you know. it’s whatever. and in Jessie they enhanced this semi-shallowness which sounds weird but that was really the case. like i said we were supposed to hate them (again: oops). but they still had potential.

i mean i don’t know man i just found the Anderson family really interesting and i just wanted to see them develop and grow. fuck my life. *mic drop*

I definitely underestimated how long it would take to do a piece with a bg (and this is still with a lot of references and layers) Eurgh, it’s not perfect and there are a lot of things I need to improve on, but I’m happy with it. This piece is based on an AU sketch I did for McHanzo week which was a Peter Pan AU (Young Love Day) where I quote from my past post with the sketch link:

“ Where Jesse takes the Shimada brothers to Neverland to live forever as youngin’s, battling against the pirates led by Captain Reaper and ignoring the nagging voice of Jesse’s fairy partner, Angie.”

Sorry for not adding Genji though, was trying to base it off the famous Disney Peter Pan scene with Peter and Wendy (and also Tinkerbell). This piece also differs since I tried to make them look younger compared to the sketch.

Whelp, at least this a good way to start the year, with a piece that HAS A BG. I’m planning on making more pieces like this and hopefully improve as I do…though it might take longer since BGs are still in a way new to me ;_____;

Kombat Kids Vine headcanons

Because now I’m thinking about it more

  • Cassie is friggin’ comedic royalty. How she packs this much into six seconds is unknown. The other Kombat Kids frequently make appearances. Even some of the adults just might cameo. Though it’s hard to say which ONE Vine is her most famous, my favorite is the one where she smacks Kung Jin in the face with a box of tampons (fear not; it was scripted!). (see earlier post)
  • Jacqui is the type who, when some bullshit happens in the world, drops the bombshell comment. The rest of the time, she’ll Vine nice little scenes from the farm or of performances she sees. Jax cameos relatively frequently. Sometimes she’ll Vine her friends without warning just to mess with them, though she’d never actually post them without their permission. One of her most famous Vines, however, is a six-second shot of one of Johnny Cage’s Blueberry awards. And nothing else.
  • Takeda takes a little while to “get” Vine. You know what I mean. His first several Vines are just of relatively random things with captions as comments, but as time goes by he tries to be funny on the Internet. Even if it falls flat, it’s endearing. His most famous Vine is, no doubt, the ONE where Hanzo completely startled him mid-Vine.
  • Kung Jin takes a while to warm up to Vine, period. For a while, he doesn’t see how six-second videos are meant to convey anything. He mostly just appeared in the other Kombat Kids’ Vines until he became curious enough to set up an account via Cassie’s phone (because I can’t imagine monks having their own phones…). His first Vine was just him saying variants of “What is this?” or “How does this work?” with rising levels of exaggerated bewilderment. The last shot is of Cassie, and he asks “HOW DO I VIIIIIINE?” while shaking the phone. It’s beautiful, it’s hilarious, and it actually becomes pretty famous.

Behind the Black

Making Maleficent: Costume Design with Anna B. Sheppard

The costume design of Disney’s Maleficent is sweeping, graceful and dramatic, just like Maleficent herself. Here, renowned costume designer Anna B. Shepard tells us about her research, inspiration, and the process of dressing Maleficent for the big screen.

Q: You have a both an extensive and varied list of accomplished projects- which did you draw the most experience from for Maleficent?

A: The only project I can link to Maleficent was Captain America, The First Avenger - even though one is a fairy tale and the a other comic book, both contained a big array of CGI and reality mixed with fantasy. Also both involved creating the iconic image of the hero and represented vast production values.

Q: How much of a role did the original animated version of Maleficent play in your designs?

A: The famous black robes from Disney’s animated Sleeping Beauty influenced Maleficent’s image in our movie- we created a version of these for the christening scene as a tribute to the image that so many people have grown up with.

Q: Can you take us through the research process when you work on a film? How did you immerse yourself in the world of Maleficent?

A: Research for the movie is, in my opinion, the most important and interesting part of the preparation process. In the case of Maleficent, one of my main sources for inspiration was the 15th Century-to-Renaissance art period of both French and Italian art - paintings, sketches and sculptures. As I had to create two very different worlds, one with creatures living in a forest fairyland and the other an opulent human kingdom, my research was divided into using a lot of references to nature - the world of insects, birds and animals, which contrasted with the images of royal courts, armour and lavish adornments in beautiful fabrics. The latter was very different from the simplicity of the natural world.

Research also helped to provide different sources of colour and shapes, creating a background tapestry of visuals that formed the basis of the actors’ costumes for each of their characters. All of the images were then collated and made into big mood boards, displayed in my office and the workrooms for my crew and makers.

Q: Which costumes in the film were the most challenging?

A: The most challenging costumes were the ones for Maleficent and Stefan because they tell so much of the story and their relationship, changing dramatically through the course of the film.

Maleficent’s costumes evolved from mossy colours and floaty fabrics to become dark and sculptural shapes in much heavier fabrics with lots of volume - artificial furs, leather and feathered accessories were used to form a much darker and sinister-looking character.

Stefan changes from a peasant boy to a powerful and rich king obsessed with the use of iron to create his invincible kingdom. For the final battle, pieces of his armour were hand sculpted to create a much more modern and dangerous image than the ornate armour of King Henry.

Q: What role does CGI play in your costume design?

A: CGI played a very big role in Malificent, creating additional depth to the production design and amazing action sequences. In practice it meant not using certain colours in costumes (certain shades of green and blue), also it meant we had to take into account the weight and flexibility of structures as fabrics had to float in the air and be fire retardant in some cases and serve the image that will be created by CGI.

Q: How much of a difference do you find between working on a film and working on a television series?

A: I worked on two big TV series - Band of Brothers and The Prisoner - both with vast amounts of costumes. I think now that with the advent of HDTV the gap between film and television has shrunk visibly- apart from the faster pace of shooting for TV, there isn’t much difference in production values.

Q: Is a role’s stunt work ever a factor in the costume design?

A: Stunt costumes very often create quite a challenge for the creation of the garments involved. Sometimes the beauty of the costume has to be sacrificed for the safety of the stuntman! Metal pieces are often replaced with rubber, fabrics are made lighter but mirroring the image of the original and shapes are wired to help with maintaining the silhouette. With shoes, the soles need to be more flexible and with a good surface grip.

Q: Could you describe the collaboration with the makeup artists on this project?

A: The collaboration process between costumes and makeup in this type of movie is an every-day occurrence and necessity in this kind of production. My team and I worked closely with the makeup department, helping with the placement of hats, crowns and working together on hairstyles, particularly facial hair to complete the look of characters.
Encore Performance (18775 words) by Corinna [AO3]

Chapters: 23/23
Fandom: Glee
Rating: Mature
Relationships: Blaine Anderson/Kurt Hummel, Kurt Hummel/Other(s), implied past Blaine Anderson/Other(s)

Summary: In a world where Blaine and Kurt never get back together, Blaine goes off to college at the University of Michigan. There, he forms a theater group with his friends, and they become Internet-famous with a musical about Harry Potter. Which is how he comes back into Kurt’s life again.

Written in a series of scenes for the 2013 Klaine Advent challenge.

So I am writing a sequel to this story right now, and since I’m almost done with it, I wanted to take a moment and look back at the original. This post probably falls somewhere in between self-meta and self-pimping ;)

“Encore Performance” is not RPF, even though it sort of looks like it at first glance. And, in fact, it was partially inspired by an RPF, which I normally don’t read. But I’m also a University of Michigan alum (though well before Darren Criss’s time) and when I saw a story set at Michigan, I clicked on it out of nostalgia. And, well, not surprisingly to anyone but a UM alum, there wasn’t anything about it that was Ann Arbor specific.

Right around that same time, Darren Criss’s tour hit Ann Arbor, and suddenly my dash was full of places I knew and loved: Jerusalem Gardens! The Michigan Theater and the Blind Pig! I was halfway to booking a flight just to walk around downtown.

I think it was a picture of Darren Criss in the full Blaine hair-helmet but a Michigan T-shirt that first made me think, what if it was Blaine who’d gone to Michigan? What if, after the breakup, Kurt had never encouraged him to apply to NYADA anyhow, and he went to a great theater program closer to home? And then (because of course I wanted the story to have a happy ending), what if he and his friends put on a show that got them attention on the Internet – enough attention to catch the eye of the ex-boyfriend who won’t admit even to himself that he still loves Blaine?

I started plotting it out, but then I was afraid I would do too much research and turn it into sort of an RPF version of a roman a clef, with the real StarKid members showing up in the story as thinly-disguised versions of themselves. So the Advent challenge was really useful to me, because it was a perpetual ticking clock. I had no time to do research on what really happened, I had no time to get self-conscious, I just had to write. I didn’t even get in most of my favorite Ann Arbor spots (although I did write a scene at Zingerman’s, because why would I not).

It’s a story about Blaine and Kurt, and how staying broken up changed them both. It’s also, as the-multicorn helped me realize, a story about finding community and the value of making art together. Kurt begins the story disconnected from his friends, his vocation, from his true emotions. He ends… well, I said I wanted a happy ending, didn’t I?
