You were so wrapped up in seeing Dean walk through the door you didn’t even pause before you flung yourself into his arms and started to work your mouth against his. You felt the way his tongue slid in between your parted lips and massaged your own. You fisted your hands in his short blond hair and felt the way that his hands gripped your waist in return. In short, you were totally immersed in nothing more than pure elation at seeing your boyfriend and finally being able to touch him again.

“Hello?”

You ignored the words you were hearing besides you in favor of continuing to show your boyfriend just how happy you were to see him.

“Hey!” Sam called out when his brother’s hand had made its way down to your ass cheek and slapped you gently.

Warnings: Smut, threesome (no Wincest), anal sex

Word Count: 2650ish

A/N: Hope y’all enjoy! XOXO

Too hot. Too bright. Everything feels heavy and suffocating, like you’re trapped or tied down. Leg muscles twitch, but you can’t move them as you force your brain to swim toward the surface, try to break your mind out of its haze.

And then you wake up.

For just a moment, you focus only on your breath. You wake up like this two or three times a week, have ever since you started hunting, and it will only take your body a few seconds to calm down.

Coda 12x11

Sam’s trying to keep it together but it isn’t easy with Dean wandering off like a child, nothing even resembling a lead on the witch, and the metaphorical clock ticking so loudly that he can practically hear it. The television kept Dean’s focus for a while, but now he’s restlessly wandering around the motel room, complaining. Racking his brain for a game to pull up on his phone to keep his brother occupied, Sam entreats him to sit back down on the bed, but Dean shakes his head.

“I wanna go outside,” he says again.

“I need to keep working so we can get you…better,” Sam says, with a false note of confidence. “If you could just give me some time to research—“

“I wanna go outside,” Dean insists, like a child who wants to play. Sam’s trying not to snap at him when Dean’s suddenly present again with a pained lucidity in his eyes that Sam hasn’t seen for the past few hours.  “It’s too much being cooped up in here, Sammy, waiting for whatever I’m gonna lose next. I need some fresh air. I need to see the sky.”

Sam’s on his feet in an instant. It’s bad enough when Dean lets Sam lead him around, happy to be along for the ride and pleased with whatever simplistic answers Sam gives him. But at least in those moments Sam can pretend it’s a stranger wearing his brother’s body. These flashes of awareness are exponentially worse and Sam is determined to give him whatever he needs.

“Ok, Dean,” he suggests. “How about this?” He moves a chair into the motel doorway, propping the door open with it. It will leave him close enough to get a signal while he keeps one eye on Dean outside. The Impala is parked right at the curb and he leads Dean to it, hoping that the familiar sun-warmed feel of the hood will comfort him in a way that words can’t. Dean climbs onto the hood with his eyes trained on the clear blue sky. As Sam watches, Dean begins to relax, leaning back against the windshield. “You want your sunglasses?”

Dean doesn’t answer, just shakes his head no. Sam gets back to work.

The calm lasts about a half hour until clouds begin to move in, marring the blue with a promise of rain.

Dean clambers awkwardly down from Baby and comes to stand before Sam. “The ocean,” he says with no preamble.

Sam blinks up at him. “What about it?”

“I want to go see the ocean.”

“Dean.” Sam tries to keep his voice calm and gentle. “We’re in Arkansas. There’s no ocean here.”

“But I want to see it.”

“I’m sorry, Dean. That’s not something we can do right now.” Dean’s face begins to crumple, so Sam quickly adds. “I have an idea,” and that’s enough to elicit Dean’s interest. Back inside the room, Sam takes out Dean’s laptop and types ocean into Google image search. “How about you look at pictures of oceans and tell me which one you want to go see when we’re all done here?”

Dean’s already fixated on the blues and greens filling the screen and he reaches for the computer.

“Just click right here to make each one bigger.” Sam points to the trackpad and he’s treated to an eye roll from his brother that he finds equal parts jarring and reassuring.

“I’m not an idiot, Sam.”

You forgot your own name, Sam wants to say, but there’s no point in burdening Dean with that.

“Ok, Dean. Find the one you like best.”

Sam gets back to his research as Dean takes his assignment to heart. There’s a steady stream of clicking and muttering as Dean opens and then rejects photo after photo. Finally, he stands and brings the laptop over to Sam.

“This one.”

Sam smiles at him and takes a look to be polite. It’s a beach in French Polynesia with tropical waters as deep and blue as…

“Good job, Dean. I’m gonna call Cas, ok?”

Dean nods, never taking his eyes away from the screen.

*

On his way to meet Rowena, Sam pauses in the doorway. “I’ll be back as soon as I can,” he tells Cas, who is sitting on one of the beds.

Calmer than he’s been all day, Dean lies with his head in Cas’s lap. When Cas turns to say goodbye to Sam, Dean reaches out a hand to Cas’s cheek, angling his face so he can continue to stare up into his eyes.

Hey Jude

A/N: This is my really late submission for @percussiongirl2017 ‘s birthday challenge! Hopefully it was worth the wait. I had the prompt, “You can’t tell me how to live my life. You’re not my mother.” & my song is “Hey Jude” – The Beatles. The pairing is Dean x Sister!Reader however there is some Sam in there as well. The reader is the oldest sibling.

Dean x Sister!Reader   Sam x Sister!Reader

“Take care of Sam and Dean.”

That was your motto. You were eight years old when your mother died in the fire that turned your life upside down. You could remember the heat, the fear you felt, and how you had never gripped Dean’s hand or held onto Sammy so tightly then you did that night when you brought them out of the burning house.

Ever since then your father gave you one task, to take care of Sam and Dean. It wasn’t something that was foreign to you; it was something that you had loved helping your mother do. She had always lovingly referred to you as the mini mama because you enjoyed it so much.

So that’s what you did.

It’s An Older Sibling Thing

A/N: I’m so sorry I’m posting this so late! I literally wrote this the night I signed up for the Challenge, but completely forgot about it ;; This is for @not-moose-one-shots 6K Writing Challenge! Congrats on 6000 followers, boo! And thank you for hosting the Challenge. This is my first time joining a Challenge, and I’m so glad I did it!

11.  “He must pay well.”

A low growl erupted from your throat as the demon took your laptop from your backpack. Two days. It’s been two days since you were kidnapped, and tortured.

“You hunters think you’re so smart,” the demon taunted with a smirk. You looked over his shoulder, realizing that he was tracking Dean’s location. It was the same technique that every hunters used when you needed someone’s location- all you needed was their phone numbers. “We’ve picked up a few skills while being hunted.” He laughed with a wicked grin. “Now, c’mon. We’re gonna pay the Winchesters a little visit.” He raised his gun, and knocked your skull with the butt of it.

When you came to, you realized you were laying on a motel bed, the yellow lighting being too bright for your eyes. You groaned in pain, trying to assess your surroundings. The binds that were around your wrists and ankles were gone, and you felt the uncomfortable feeling of gauze and tape around your injuries.

“Easy, Y/N,” a voice rumbled from the other bed.

“Dean?” you called, turning your head to face him. His jaw tensed as you looked at him with confusion on your face. The motel room was a mess as if a hurricane went through it.

“That’s what happens when you lead a demon to our room,” he sniped, seeing you look around the room.

“What do you-”

“The demon you brought here.”

“Brought here?”

“Don’t play dumb, Y/N.” Dean rolled his eyes. “We know you told him our location in exchange for your life.”

Part 1

“It’s pretty shady that you were so close by. You’re not stalking us are you?” Dean barks obnoxiously, stomping by you on the way to Baby. Having just finished the poltergeist case, the awkward tension is painfully palpable.

Expecting an immediate wise ass remark, Dean pauses and quickly turns his head. He witnesses you and Sam having a silent conversation, automatically causing his blood to boil.

“I live around here.” You state calmly, unfortunately your nervous habit of biting your bottom lip betrays you.

“Wait…” Dean aggressively slams the trunk shut then bolts in your direction.

Freckles (Destiel)

“This is interesting,” Sam said, flipping through the pages of the thick book. The pages make a soft shuffling noise as they landed, the creamy paper protesting the landing. Sam, Dean, and Castiel were researching for a case, all of them searching through the old texts. Sam and Castiel were enjoying it, but Dean was huffing and slapping around the pages. Finally, it got to the point that Sam became so annoyed that he took the book away from Dean. Dean sat there, arms folded, stealing glances at Castiel to keep himself preoccupied. Both Castiel and Sam knew not to mention it, Dean was very adamant about his heterosexuality, even more so now that he wasn’t sure of it.
“What’s interesting?” Dean asked.
“Is it relevant to the case?” Castiel asked, not even looking up from the book. Sam expected nothing less of the angel. Efficiency always.
“No, but it’s interesting.” Sam said, smirking slightly.
“Nerd.” Dean commented.
Sam rolled his eyes. “Listen to this: ‘In some cultures, freckles are considered signs of good luck’” He said.
“Well that’s utter bullshit. I’m covered in freckles, but I’m about as lucky as… fuck.” Dean thought for a moment, trying to think of a metaphor and coming up with nothing. “Whatever. Point is, I’m not lucky.”
Sam felt his expression change into a smug smile as he read on. “It says: ‘Freckles were considered lucky because they were thought to be angel kisses.’”
Dean grinned. “What can I say, I’m irresistible. So, tell me, Cas, who’s been kissin’ me all over? Was it Anna? I bet it was Anna.” Dean looked down his own shirt, checking to see if there were freckles there. When he saw and was satisfied, he lifted the waistband of his pants, checking there too. “Jesus, she didn’t miss anywhere, did she?”
Sam looked over at Castiel, finally noticing how red the man was turning. Castiel shook his head, “It wasn’t Anna.”
Dean stopped. “God, don’t tell me it was Zachariah. If you tell me it was Zachariah, I’m going to hurl.”
“It wasn’t Zachariah.” Castiel said, the blush reaching to the tips of his ears by this point. He was looking at his book pointedly, trying to keep his head ducked so the brunt of his blush would be hidden.
“Then who was it? Don’t tell me it was you.” Dean said with a laugh, clearly thinking that was out of the realm of possibility. Castiel didn’t respond though, his jaw just clenching and he turned more red. “Cas?” Dean prompted, awaiting the angel to deny his accusation.
“Oh my god.” Sam gasped. “Oh my god it was.” He whispered.
Dean shot Sam a murderous look. “No, it wasn’t, obviously. Tell him, Cas.”
Castiel swallowed and looked up. “Dean.”
“Oh god. You’re joking, right?” Dean said softly, looking intrigued yet terrified.
“It… it was me,” Castiel said. “But what you have to understand is-” Castiel was cut off by Dean pressing his lips against Castiel’s. The kiss was chaste, but when the two of them pulled back, Sam couldn’t tell who looked more surprised. They stared at each other for a moment before Castiel grabbed Dean by the collar and pulled him back in for another kiss, this time open-mouthed and passionate, full of emotions neither of them had the guts to say. Dean sighed into the kiss and carded his hands through Castiel’s hair, tugging him even closer. They kissed languidly for a minute longer until Sam got fed up and started making gagging noises.
They separated with an unhappy sigh from Castiel and an eye-roll from Dean.
“As glad as I am to see that you guys have resolved your sexual tension, I would prefer not to see you sucking face. I am still trying to work on this case.” Sam deadpanned, holding up the book he was reading.
Dean stuck out his tongue and grabbed Castiel’s hand, pulling him down the hall in the direction of the bedroom. Before he left though, he said, “You’re just jealous that you don’t have any freckles-” Dean was going to continue making fun of Sam, but Castiel pressed his lips onto Dean’s, efficiently shutting him up. That was the angel, efficiency always. They stumbled to the bedroom tangled up together, leaving Sam scowling alone in the kitchen. As soon as he heard the door click shut, Sam quickly stripped off his shirt, inspecting for freckles. There were none on his chest, and as far as he could see, none on his back. Cautiously he looked in his pants and winced.
“CAS! WHY IS THERE A SINGULAR FRECKLE ON MY LEFT BUTT CHEEK.” Sam shouted.
“IT’S FROM… Dean stop it. You’re distracting me. No, that’s very nice, but very distracting. Yes, it’s- oh. Oh. That’s… nice… um… mmm… it’s… I-IT’S F-FROM G-GABRIEL.” Castiel answered, voice stuttering.
“FROM WHO NOW?”

Dean comes in late, so late that Sam almost considers pretending to be asleep. But they never really sleep anyway, and he’s not some worried boyfriend trying to play it cool, so he just sits up when the motel door finally opens.

“Hey.”

“Hey,” Dean whispers. He seems caught off guard, but he’s walking perfectly straight and not slurring his words, so Sam knows he’s sober.

You were finally back at the motel. The hunt had been exhausting and more difficult than expected, and even though you’d been successful, you and your brothers were in a bad mood.

“Guys, I’m starving.” Sam announced while Dean let himself fall face front into one of the beds.

“Me too” you replied, extending your hand towards Dean for the car keys. “I can get some Burgers and stuff at the diner down the road.”

Instead of handing you the keys, Dean grumbled and stood up again. “There’s no way I’ll let you drive baby. I can go and get food.”

“What?” you asked a little bit confused. You’d driven the Impala before, Dean had taught you and you’ve also got your driver’s license. Something about his tone was provoking you.

“What’s wrong with you? So you don’t even trust me enough to let me drive the damn car?”

“Yeah, I don’t. Why should I? On the hunt you didn’t even stay back when I asked you too. How the hell am I supposed to trust you then?”

You crossed your arms in front of your chest. Anger started to float through you and you tried to let it cover up the pain you felt at Dean’s words.

“Of course I didn’t stay back when that thing was coming at you from behind. Should I just have let you die?”

“No, goddammit! You should’ve done what I said. We had everything under control, Sam would have gotten it. But thanks to you, it didn’t work out, and now he’s hurt!”

Dean gesticulated towards his younger brother who was sitting at the small table, carefully stitching up a cut on his left arm.

“Don’t rush me, dad! You don’t like anything that I pick!” Nicole huffs throwing on another dress.

“Pick something appropriate and we’ll be fine.” Dean groans rubbing his temples.

Isn’t A Dream

This isn’t a dream.

This is really happening.

Dean’s lips are soft and pliant against my willing mouth. Sam’s kisses skim the delicate skin below my earlobe, his hair dusting my collarbone.

Sam’s mouth travels upward, his warm breath tickling when he whispers into my ear. “Do you trust us?”

My heart skips a beat but it knows the answer. The answer is yes. Implicitly. There isn’t a person alive or dead that I trust more than the Winchesters.

“Yes.” The word rolls of my tongue and vibrates against Dean’s mouth, which turns up into a sexy grin when he hears my answer, his green eyes sparkling.

Sam’s chuckle is throaty, rumbling in his chest. I tilt my head and turn to look at him and once again, I can’t believe this is really happening. Dean reaches up a finger and hooks it under my chin, directing my gaze back to his. Perhaps a competition for my affections is brewing. I can’t say the idea doesn’t thrill me.

“We’re going to take good care of you, (Y/N).” Dean says it like a promise with a hint of threat. It sends a wave of lust from the crown of my head to the tips of my toes.

“Hell yeah, we are,” Sam reaffirms Dean’s promise. Sam loosens the knot on the tie at the base of his throat while Dean lifts the hem of my shirt. His hand caresses my skin as he works the shirt up and over my head.

—————

In the seventeen years you had been alive, there was only time where you felt at peace. One time you felt truly, truly happy. That moment was fourteen months ago. In your bed. Lying next to Kevin.

Kevin brushed a lock of hair behind your ear and you snuggled into the warmth of the bed, looking up at him. The two of you just stared at each other, as if you were trying to memorize every detail of the other.

“Do you really have to go?” you nearly whispered, breaking the silence.

Kevin smiled sadly.

“What do you think?” he asked back.

You snorted softly, cupping Kevin’s cheek with your palm.

“I just… I love you, Kevin.” you said.

Kevin smiled softly.

“I love you too, Y/N.” he said.

You smiled and they both leaned in to meet each other with a passionate kiss. You pulled away and felt your eyelids start to droop. Kevin chuckled.

“Trying to stay up? After…” he trailed off, smirking at you.

You chuckled, blushing slightly as you remembered what the two of you finally did fifteen minutes ago.

“I don’t want to miss a single moment with you.” you answered truthfully.

Kevin placed another soft kiss on your lips again.

“Come here,” he said, holding the covers up slightly.

You moved closer to him and turned around, your back pressed against your boyfriend’s bare chest.

“I’ll always be here, okay? Even when you can’t see me,” he said.

You felt tears in your eyes but blinked them away. Tears could come later. You felt him wrap his arm around your waist, pulling you closer to him. He kissed your shoulder lightly.

“Close your eyes. I’ll be here when you wake.” he whispered and you nodded, quickly drifting off, Kevin’s warm arms around you.

The cold bed was what woke you eight hours later.

“What are you thinking about?” Jughead asked, breaking you out of your thoughts.

“Hmm?”

The school day had ended and the two of you were now walking to Pop’s. Jughead had offered to buy you a milkshake and you couldn’t refuse. A Winchester and free food? Come on.

“You seemed pretty deep in thought there for a minute.” the raven-haired teen said.

“Oh,” you said, letting out a forced chuckle. “Just some stuff on my mind, that’s all.”

That wasn’t exactly a lie.

“Do you want to talk about it?” Jughead asked.

You shook your head.

“Not particularly.” you said.

That was.

Jughead nodded and dropped the subject, the two of you entering a surprisingly comfortable silence as you finished the walk to Pop’s. You walked into the diner and took your seat at one of the booths as Jughead placed your order. He soon joined you and the two of you got into a heavy debate about 70s and 80s bands.

“Nuh uh!” you cut in. “Zeppelin wins every time! Don’t you remember “Stairway to Heaven?” Talk about iconic songs.”

Jughead scoffed.

“How about Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man,” huh? Or even—”

“Jughead!” a voice called from behind you.

You turned around to see the very nicely dressed black-haired teen from earlier at lunch making her way over to the two of you, the jock and the blonde girl following her.

Jughead gave you an apologetic expression before looking back up at the “fancy” teen.

“Veronica.” he acknowledged.

The girl, Veronica apparently, looked at you and smiled widely.

“Hey!” she greeted. “Got room for three more of us?”

Jughead turned his gaze back to you, ready for you to instantly say “no.”

But you didn’t.

You looked back to Veronica with a genuine smile on your face.

“Sure, why not?” you asked as you scooted over.

Veronica beamed as she took a seat next to you, Jughead looking at you with surprise. He had expected you to boot her out of there. The other two teens that were with Veronica squished in next to Jughead, forcing him to the corner of the booth.

“Veronica Lodge.” Veronica said, holding her hand out for you.

“Y/N Winchester.” you said as you took it, shaking it.

You turned to the jock who called himself “Archie Andrews” and the blonde who called herself “Betty Cooper.”

“Nice to meet you guys.” you said.

“You too.”

“Nice to meet you.”

Veronica looked back and forth between you and Jughead.

“So…” she began. “What were you guys talking about?”

And the game was afoot! Well… the debate was. Although this time, Jughead was outnumbered. Betty and Veronica had taken your side in the musical argument while Archie had taken Jughead’s. After listing countless songs and albums, you looked outside only to see it was dark. Your eyes widened as you realized you had been at the diner for hours.

“Oh, son of a bitch,” you cursed. “I need to get home. My brothers are—”

The front door swinging open abruptly interrupted you, making you quickly turn around. You sighed in relief once you realized it wasn’t Sam or Dean, but rather Castiel. Castiel quickly scanned the diner before his eyes met yours and he began to walk over to you.

“Damn.” you muttered as you faced forward again.

“What?” Veronica asked. “What’s—”

“Do you have any idea what time it is?” Castiel asked you as he reached the booth, unintentionally making the other teens jump.

You sighed as you pushed your hair back.

“No,” you answered truthfully. “I don’t. I was talking with my friends. Just got carried away.”

The Core Four (except Veronica who was positively radiating) smiled softly at you calling them your “friends.” Castiel sighed.

“I’m sorry to interrupt,” he said to the other teens, his annoyed tone changing to apologetic. “But Y/N’s brothers want her home.”

“Yeah, of course.” Veronica said as she slid out of the booth so you could get out.

You waved goodbye to everyone, but your gaze lingered on Jughead just a moment longer.

“See you guys at school,” you said. “And Jug? Thanks for the milkshake. See you in English?” you asked.

Jughead smirked.

“Of course.”

You smiled at his words before you followed Castiel out of the diner, the two of you walking in silence. After a few minutes, the angel spoke.

“I-I truly am sorry for disrupting time with your new friends, Y/N.” he apologized.

You gave a small smile to the angel.

“It’s okay,” you said. “I understand.”

Castiel nodded.

“It’s Sam and Dean. They were just afraid that you…” he trailed off.

You finished his thought in your head anyway.

They were afraid that you ran away again.

“I get it,” you said before stopping. “And Castiel?”

The angel stopped as well, turning towards you.

“I-I never thanked you for what you did for me. For sticking by my side for the last year. For being there. Just… thank you.”

Castiel’s expression softened.

“It’s… no problem.” he managed to say.

You nodded and the two of you continued the walk back to the motel in comfortable silence.

“Castiel,” you called as you looked up, your voice shaky.

You swallowed the lump in your throat as you tried to keep your trembling hands steady. You sat on the side of your bed, unable to stand, your leg involuntarily bouncing up and down.

“I need you to help me.”

A beat of silence. Then you heard the sound of wings rustling.

“What is it?” the familiar gravelly voice asked, appearing in front of you.

You quickly got up, opening your mouth only to have no sound come out.

“Y/N, you look pale. Are you alright?” the angel asked.

You shook your head.

“Cas, I need you to do something for me,” you began. “But you need to swear not to tell Sam or Dean. No matter what the outcome.”

“Y/N, of course, what—”

“No, I need to hear you say it. That you promise not to tell them, Castiel. Please. They can’t know.” you begged.

Castiel nodded, looking at you with concern.

“I promise,” he said. “What can I do?”

You took a deep breath, looking down.

“Okay. I… Um…” you began. “I-I need you to get me a pregnancy test.”

I Though I Was Coming With a Flu [edited]

Characters/Pairing: Dean x Fem!Reader, Sam, Dr. Blaze (OC)

word count: 2k

Warnings: Bit of angst, fluff, lots of it, unexpected pregnancy!!!

A/N: This is and old story among the firsts pices of SPN fanfiction I ever wrote and posted on Tumblr. Since my brain haven’t been helpful with me and the new stories I have in mind I decided to edit this one. I was about to change the ending a bit, but fuck it. I like it, even if it is dull… Oh, and I’m tagging people.

Anyways this is prompt: ‘The reader was told she was infertile by her doctor a long time ago. She finds out he was wrong when she realizes she’s pregnant… with Dean’s baby.    From “60+ Dean x Pregnant!reader Prompts” that I don’t remember who it was from because I deleted the original post, so sorry!!

I Thought I Was Coming With a Flu

The cold water felt wonderful against your hot, flushed face, soothing the feverish sensation. You delicately patted the droplets off of your sensitive skin with a soft fluffy towel. Observing in detail your reflection in the mirror, you didn’t recognize the person looking back at you anymore.

Dark circles around your eyes,cheeks shrunk to half it’s normal size- displaying the cheekbones through thin, pale skin - It’s been, what two, three weeks since you started to feel sick… you didn’t keep count anymore. Your neck looked longer and thinner, not to mention that you’d lost at least 20 lb and all of your jeans were baggy now, even your sweats started to slide down your hip.

You carded your fingers through your dirty hair, moving  it to the side and contemplated your languid face once more before rinsing your mouth with the last of mouthwash; what was the point on brushing your teeth if you were going to throw up again in like 20 minutes?

You made your way down the hall to the kitchen, stopping once or twice to catch your breath; you couldn’t be off bed for more than a few minutes without feeling like you were going to faint. You finally reached your destination and laid against the doorframe, to regain your composure and were immediately greeted by the worried looks of the Winchester brothers.

“Morning to you too,” you said in a sarcastic tone.

“Hi,” they said in the unison.

“Umm… Hun, you know it’s 5 in the afternoon, right?” Dean was getting up so you could seat on his place, even though there were a lot of empty chairs.

Fragments Masterlist

Ever since the night Cas told you parts of your soul were gone, you’d withdrawn from everyone. Dean hadn’t pushed you, even though you could tell he desperately wanted you to open up to him about whatever it was you were feeling. The absolute truth of it was, you weren’t sure what it was you were feeling. It was all so overwhelming; being thrust back into a world you knew nothing about.

Sam was right, you were good at research. You’d spent most days holed up in your room with your laptop relearning how to be a hunter. When night fell, you’d wait until you were sure everyone was asleep or at the very least in their own rooms and creep out into the library to read more lore. You fully invested yourself in it. You wanted to be a hunter again.

“Y/N?” Cas’ figure cast a shadow in the library and you lifted your head from your research, giving him a half smile. “Are you alright?”

“No.” You whispered, mostly to yourself. Cas was there instantly, sitting next to you and resting his hand on top of yours. “Why are you being so nice to me?”

Cas smiled and laced his fingers with yours. “Well, first and foremost, we were great friends. You understood me in a way nobody else ever did. You read people…and angels…well. I don’t know if that’s something you’ve noticed.” You nodded and huffed a laugh. “Second, I promised your father once that I’d look out for you. I failed once. I don’t intend to do it again.”

“Failed me how?” You questioned. “A lot of people feel like they failed me. People die. You can’t prevent it. It just happens.”

She Can Hear You

Pairing: Sam x Reader
Words:  1078
Requested by Anonymous:  Can I please get a Sam oneshot where the reader temporarily goes deaf (though they al think it’s permanent) and Sam takes the opportunity to repeatedly tell her how he feels about her and then the deafness wears off but she doesn’t tell him because she likes hearing what he says, though he finds out somehow and is embarrassed before she tells him she loves him too?

          The explosion was deafening. Literally. Your ears started ringing. And then there had been nothing.

           When Sam and Dean found you, you had tears rolling down your cheeks. You had somehow let them know you couldn’t hear. They looked almost as scared as you felt. What were you going to do?

 ~~~
Sam’s Point Of View
           It was terrible, really. The fact that Y/N couldn’t hear was terrifying for all of us. I hated seeing how distraught she was. Seeing her like that made me sad. She had been so full of life. Now, she was just sitting around, not doing anything.
           “I wish you could realize how amazing you are,” I sighed, standing in the doorway of the kitchen. Y/N’s back was to me, so she couldn’t read my lips or see that I was talking to her. But for some reason, that helped me open up to her. I would have never had the courage if she actually had her hearing back.
           “That’s not fair, Sam,” Dean said from behind me, making me jump.
           I turned and looked at him, “What?”
           “You can’t confess your love to her when she can’t hear you. That’s not fair. To either of you,” he said.
           “Dean, I can’t really tell her.”
           “Coward,” Dean accused.
           “It’s just … it’s complicated.”
           “Whatever.”
You tried to swallow your nerves, your eyes avoiding the Winchesters and especially Castiel as they all stared at you with expressions of concern.
“Any reason you brought us all in here?” Dean asked, watching you carefully as he sat next to Sam and Cas at the library table.
