how can every single detail about you be so beautiful

Weekly Theme: How to keep Christ at the center of your thoughts

Daily Theme: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding… -Proverbs 3:5

My dear sister,

5 things to remember about your worries today:

1. There is no need for you to try and navigate through your worries alone. You can go over it in your head over and over all day, but know that no matter how much you analyze it, everything–every single little detail–is in the hands of the Lord. Don’t let the worry take over today. Don’t let the anxiety about your long to-do list consume your mind so much to the point that you forget to be comforted by the beautiful truth that God already has the whole path laid out.

2. Now this does not mean that things can’t still go wrong, but what it does mean is that when you find yourself slipping, in whatever it is, God wants to reel you back in. So give your heart completely to Him. Surrender your thoughts to Him, knowing that through Jesus Christ, it was not meant to be for you to carry these burdens around. Let Him be The One who guides you through your thoughts.

3. Let Him be The One who guides your thoughts when things aren’t going your way. We can’t control what other people do or don’t do. We can’t always control the outcome at work, at school, or a situation at home–but what you can control is your choice to CONTINUE to trust in the Lord even though things aren’t going your way.

4. If you’re looking for that peace of mind today, you’re not going to find it in a lunch break and you’re not going to find it when that particular person finally decides to text you back…you’re going to find it when you look The One who IS the peace…The One who knows all!

5. So don’t let the pressure at work, at school, or anywhere else in your community distract you from the enormous opportunity to no longer lean on your understanding but instead to trust your Heavenly Father. Let Him be your peace of mind today, and everyday.

Cinderella - Reviews of All Hues

Dear Girls,

And here itis – my new review. I haven’t written one in a while. Last week I went to seeCinderella.  I must say I had my hopes up after seeing trailer because it looked beautiful but also I remembered that Maleficent also looked great but the plot wasn’t so convincing

and Cinderella is the classic and that is always risky. But I must say I am absolutely in love with this film. It’s wonderful I really can’t think of one thing that I would change in it.

Firstly, it’s beautiful. The colours, design, clothes, people, everything is so nice for your eyes.

The attention that was paid to every single detail is amazing. If you want to learn a bit more about costumes you can do this here, it’s really interesting. Look how this dress moves

and at this shoe.

I mean, it all results in magic known from original Disney films but 100 times better. I could live in any of those sceneries.

Plot isn’t really changed compared to original animated film. Few scenes are added but they all appeared in different versions of the tale.  Those scenes make things less naïve and the story deeper. The love of Cinderella and Prince is not out of nowhere, it makes sense. Moreover, she loves him for who he is and he loves her for who she is and not because of his status, her appearance or destiny.

Also, motivation of stepmother is discussed. She is not a mythical bad character but VERY flawed person. I must say even tough you know the story you are not bored which is great.

So now about characters. They are really well developed. Cinderella is not naïve girl that everyone can exploit. She’s kind but she has an opinion and she speaks up when it’s necessary. She remains this kind of innocent girl but in a good way rather than doormat way.  Prince Kit. I now I wrote a post dissing prince charming some time ago but I love this one. They made him real. Yes, he’s charming, yes he’s hot but he’s also awkward and thoughtful and intelligent. I mean this is this kind of prince that adult me wouldn’t say no to. And the chemistry between those two is amazing.

I mean there must be a pressure to play this epic couple but they are great.  The rest of the characters is also great. Acting level is as high as in many Oscar productions (that’s what happens when you hire names like Blanchet or Bonham Carter) but also every single character has their own, unique personality, which wasn’t really a case in original movie.

Finally, what I think surprised me the most and what I like the most is that this film is really witty in a very intelligent way.

So girls, you really need to see it (even You, Gosia, I know it’s mainstream but you’ll deal with it).

The Quote of the Week:

“If you don’t like Cinderella because she seems so “naive” and “weak,” listen to this quote from the Walt himself: “She believed in dreams, all right, but she also believed in doing something about them. When Prince Charming didn’t come along, she went over to the palace and got him.”- Walt Disney Company

Love,

Monika

P.S. I loved hairstyles in this film.
