I don't speak Spanish either.

So, this happened several years ago. My boyfriend and I had been in a long-distance relationship for a long time, and we would see each other maybe twice a year. This was during one of my month-long visits to him over the summer.

We’d decided we wanted to go to one of the nearby malls, and had to take two separate buses to get there. Him living in SoCal, it was fucking scorching; it was probably around 100F. For a “delicate” NorCal girl like me, that feels like death.

We’d gotten off the first bus and were walking to another stop a couple of blocks down to catch the next one. We’re stopped at a corner of a particularly long street, waiting for the light to change so we can cross, and there’s group of three girls behind us. We’re not paying them much mind at first, until I hear one of them go “No, I don’t want to ask them! I don’t even speak Spanish! How am I supposed to talk to them?”

This is where it’s important to note that my boyfriend and I are both of Salvadorian descent, and therefore pretty obviously brown. However, my Spanish is incredibly poor [that’s a whole different story], and I really hate it when people assume that I don’t speak English. It’s rude. But whatever. I guess it happens. It’s what happens next that ticks me off. An attempted whisper: “Look, just ask the girl. Fat girls are always nice.”

Okay. Fine. Not worth my fucking time. I’m not even gonna say anything because it’s hot and who wants to deal with this shit. But then from behind me I hear, awkwardly, “Perdón?” I turn, and it’s one of the girls–surprisingly, one that also looks latina. She sounded like the one who’d claimed not to speak Spanish.

“Yeah?”

She looked a bit surprised, and relieved that I spoke unaccented English. “We were wondering if you could tell us how to get to _____?” Some location. I was the wrong person to ask.

“Sorry, I’m not from around here. You’ll have to ask him.” I gestured to my boyfriend. Again, I’m from NorCal, so I had no idea where anything was down there.

The girl turned to him hesitantly, asked him, and my boyfriend, being friendly, gave them directions. Turns out it was straight down the long street we were on. The girls took off without even thanking us, and the light changed so we finally crossed the street and waited for us bus.

The bus shows up maybe ten or so minutes later, and we’re relieved to be out of that god-awful San Fernando Valley heat. The bus takes us down the long stretch of road, and I see the girls from before trudging down the sidewalk under the merciless SoCal sun.

“I told them that it was right down the street,” my boyfriend says. “I never told them the bus goes there.”

NHL!Bitty, Part X - Body Issue(s)

ESPN Magazine comes calling. Eric makes a creative choice. Jack gets excited.

NHL!Bitty Masterpost!

Cold. Colder. Freezing.

“The Body Issue, Bits. You can’t turn this down, and if I did it for you, you have to do it for me.”

Actually, a three-hour naked photoshoot on ice is definitely something he can turn down, but he promised Jack he would participate if asked. Granted, it was a sleep-deprived, post-coital promise, but a promise just the same.

A copy of the spread from Jack’s issue is already tastefully hung in the master bathroom of his townhouse. Eric will have to get his framed to match.

It’s not about the nudity, except, maybe it is a little bit, but he’s worked hard to get his body to look this good. His ass may never be in the same arena as Jack’s magnificent backside, but hell, if the whole world got to ogle Jack, why can’t Eric get some love, too?

Sterek ficlet inspired by this: “i grew up not knowing i was royal and now i guess i’m heir to a throne and you’re the guy who’s supposed to be teaching me how to be royal bc i suck at it and oops we made out” au

This is kind of Princess-Diaries-ish. I know that’s been done before in this fandom (and thank god it has—it’s awesome), but I couldn’t help myself. Yay for self-indulgence!

Stiles thought the most annoying thing about suddenly being a royal heir to a small eastern European kingdom he’s never heard of would be the hyper-aggressive paparazzi, but he was dead wrong.

The most annoying thing is actually Derek Hale, the guy Stiles’ grandmother hired to teach Stiles how not to screw this up.

“Princes don’t chew with their mouths open, Stiles.”

“Princes don’t shove an entire fistful of curly fries in their mouths, Stiles.”

“Princes don’t wear pink-and-green plaid shirts from Target, Stiles.”

“Princes don’t slouch.”

They don’t slump, either, or yawn or sneeze or cough in public, or fist-pump, or drive beat-up old blue Jeeps, or wear bright colors, or rock out to the radio, or do anything fun.

Dean is aging every day and Castiel can see it in the fine lines when he smiles, the way his eyes crinkle. Every day there’s another line forming and Castiel can see it. Every single one of them. He sees the first small gray hair that starts at the root of Dean’s hair. He doesn’t think Dean can see it, at first, but after a week Dean begins parting his hair differently. Castiel cannot see the single gray strand anymore, until there is a small bundle of them.

With each waking day, Dean’s hands begin to ache in the places that strains when he holds his gun. He pretends not to care, but Castiel knows. He can read Dean like a book he’s read a million times.

Castiel stays the same. Humanity caught up with his vessel in the short while he had no grace, yet now he seems to have stopped aging once again. He stays young while Dean’s knees ache. Small touches let Castiel ease the pain, and Dean catches on to what he is doing. He says thank you with his eyes, that still sparkle a beautiful sage color. The love Castiel has for Dean never dulls, but only deepens the more Dean let’s him heal.

It seems, eventually Dean wants to skip out on hunts. His bones throb too badly, or he’s catching yet another cold. Sam notices, too, but says nothing. It’s inevitable. Dean is much older than Sam is, and not as nimble anymore. Castiel always stays with Dean. Just in case.

Sometimes Dean will let Castiel sit with him while he watches the latest game on television. Usually Dean will fall asleep by halftime, never able to sleep well at night. His head always ends up on Castiel’s shoulder, beer slipping through his fingers that once held it tightly. Castiel puts the beer on the coffee table, and maneuvers to lean back enough for Dean’s head to rest comfortably on his chest. Castiel has no heartbeat for Dean to listen to, but placing a firm hand on Dean’s shoulder lets him pulse power through Dean’s veins, easing any ache or pain. Dean always sleeps better this way. It seems to give him a little bit more life that way.

Dean does not like it when Castiel heals him of his aches. “They let me know I’m still human, Cas. Just let me ache. That’s why they invented Advil.” Dean will say, giving Castiel a glare. But Dean always comes to Castiel at night, or comes to get him when the Advil won’t help his restless leg syndrome, or ease the throb of his nerves enough to get a few un-solid hours. Castiel is always more than willing to place that firm hand on Dean, watching him sleep peacefully like he deserves after a lifetime of restless nights.

“Let me heal you, Dean.” Castiel demands, watching the man he loves practically decay on the sofa. Dean had insisted on going to a hunt with Sam, and had sprained a few bones. They were not healing, and it had been over a week. “Please.” Castiel begs.

“No, Cas.” Dean repeats over and over. Castiel doesn’t care. Dean isn’t quick enough to dodge Castiel’s hand as if clamps around his ankle. It’s healed within seconds, and Dean is angry at him once more. “Damnit Cas!” Dean jerks his leg away, and glares red hot towards Castiel.

“I don’t understand, Dean!” Castiel barks back at him, “You can go on hunts all you want if you just let me heal you when you come back.”

“That’s not how life is supposed to work, Cas. I go on a hunt and I get hurt, if I die from it then that’s how it needs to be! No more loopholes, Cas. I’m gettin’ old, I know it, you know it, Sam knows it. Shit happens, and nature takes its course. It can’t do that if you keep interrupting it!”

“It sounds as though you want to die,” Castiel says dully, and blunt.

“Maybe I do.” Dean says quietly, hardly shocking Castiel. “I’ve lived a long life, saved a lot of people and then some. I’m alright with it.”

Castiel can’t cry, but if he could then he would be sobbing. He can feel it inside, how sad he is. “Dean, I’m not alright with it. My whole purpose of being is because of you. Every day before you, I simply waited for the day. And every day after, I was living for you and fighting for you. There was never a moment I was doing something that wasn’t for you in some way. If you’re gone, what am I supposed to live for?”

“Live for Sammy, Cas. He needs someone, too, you know.”

“Dean, as soon as you’re gone Sam is going to go back to a normal life. And you know that.”

Dean shakes his head, “I don’t want you to interfere anymore, Cas.”

Castiel nods a final nod, and says nothing the nights he still eases Dean’s pains when Dean calls for him. The days go by quickly, as do the seasons. He is worse in the winter, and soon he hardly moves from his worn spot on the sofa.

Castiel leaves Sam with him a single day, saying they need him briefly in Heaven. Dean smiles at him and says he’s happy Cas is off doing angelic things for once. Castiel smiles back and Sam nods. He knows Castiel’s plan.

Castiel comes back over a day later, and Dean is asleep in his bed. When Castiel enters, Dean stirs and reaches for him. He must be hurting again. Castiel gets down to his briefs and slides in bed with Dean, the single brush of skin easing all of Dean’s pains. He relaxes entirely against Castiel. Dean feels very hot, and clammy.

“Are you sick again?” Castiel asks worriedly.

“Yeah,” Dean grunts. “I went out for a drive and got caught in the rain. I think it’s the flu,” Dean grumbles. Castiel brushes a soft hand over his forehead and dulls the fever. “Thanks,” Dean says softly. Castiel is thrown off by the acceptance but says nothing. Dean begins talking. He’s somewhere between sleep, stuck in a limbo. “I am gettin’ scared, every day.” He admits in the quiet air of the bedroom. “Once my light goes out, that’s it. No more chances like I’m used to.”

Castiel interrupts softly. “I could give you another, Dean. We can age together, this next time. If you let me.” There’s a pleading tone in Castiel’s voice that Dean can recognize.

“No, Cas. I need to be a man about this.” Dean grumbles, head rolling to rest on Castiel’s pale chest. “I’m just scared of where I’m going. I always thought death would be easy, that I’d die out on a hunt. It’d be quick, maybe not painless, but I thought it would happen so fast the fear wouldn’t set in. But dying of old age? Slow like this? Every day, man. I can feel it. I’m gettin’ closer. Every time I’m sick it’s like death is just looming, beggin’ me to go to sleep so it can take me. It gives me time to think about it, and the fear gets bad. I hate bein’ scared. I’m scared I’m goin’ to hell, or purgatory again. Or get stuck in the void like Kevin did. I wanna go to Heaven, and be with Bobby and Ellen and Jo.” Castiel faintly realizes Dean is crying silently, tears pooling beneath Dean’s cheek.

“In Heaven,” Castiel begins. “I talked to some of my superiors.” Dean ‘mm-hmms’, quietly. “They would not take my grace, so my age would catch up. But I reserved you a spot, right where you want to be. And I will escort you myself. Not a reaper, or a demon. Me, and I will hide nothing from you. I will hold your hand the whole way.” The love Castiel has for this man is swelling hugely in his vacant chest, and if Castiel could cry he would cry for love.

Dean’s fingers skim past Castiel’s chest to grab his hand. The hold is limp, and weak. Castiel’s worry is at its highest, and he feels the desperate need to go yell for Sam.

Somehow, Sam senses Castiel’s desperation. He barges into the room, eyes wide with worry. Castiel and Sam’s eyes meet and the words don’t need to be spoken.

“Dean?” Sam asks, walking to his brother. Dean let’s out a small moan of acknowledgement, and faintly tells Sam he loves him. The grip on Castiel’s hand is slightly stronger when Dean finds the energy to kiss Castiel’s chest, the words unspoken but there. Castiel wraps fingers through Dean’s damp hair and holds him close.

Sam is crying silent tears and holds back a sob by biting his fist.

Dean goes quietly, in his sleep. Castiel slips from underneath him and makes sure to tuck him in as he goes to console Sam, who has aged as well, but is still young and healthy. Death won’t take him as quickly if he begins to settle down. Castiel makes sure to tell him this.

Castiel explains his plan to Sam over once more. He’s going to lead Dean to Heaven himself. He’s going to be with Bobby and Ellen and Jo. Just like he wanted. Castiel will be there, too, and he will be down whenever Sam prays to him. And if Sam wants, Castiel will walk him through the veil, too.

Castiel’s conversation is interrupted by Dean. A Dean Sam cannot see, but yet the same Dean he knows. Dean has a worried look in his eye, watching Sam cry silent tears. Castiel tells Sam it’s time, and gives him a large hug goodbye. He pleads for Sam to go find a woman, and settle down and have kids. Go back to Stanford. It’s possible. Sam promises he will try, and that he will pray often.

Castiel takes Dean’s hand and vanishes. The veil is shadows and daylight mixing together, like oil and water. Mixing but never becoming one. Dean holds Castiel’s hand tightly, fingers laced. Castiel steps through a very certain strand of daylight. Dean covers his eyes when it becomes too bright.

They’re at Bobby’s. It takes Dean a single moment to blink and look around. Ellen comes from the kitchen, stirring something in a pot.

“Heya, boys. Just in time for supper.”

That night, Castiel holds Dean close. Dean let’s him. After all, they’re stuck in a piece of Heaven where no one dies, aches, or bleeds. Despite Dean’s healthy bones, Castiel still caresses Dean’s body just like before.

TL;DR: Girl assumes boyfriend and I don’t speak English, her friend makes a rude comment about my weight thinking I won’t understand, boyfriend gives them directions to were they want to go but makes them walk in the hot sun instead of telling them the bus goes straight to their destination.

EDIT: The problem isn’t that they assumed I don’t speak English. The problem is that they called me fat and assumed I wouldn’t understand them. Also they didn’t even say thanks for the directions. Just walked away as soon as my boyfriend finished. Rude.

Why Not Me

James Potter x Reader

A/n: Probably gonna do a part 2 if you guys want one because I feel like I could keep going with this. Warnings: some swearing, a little angst. Words: 2155

You had known James Potter since you were three years old. You lived in the house next to his and you two had grown up together. After being best friends with someone for 13 years obviously you get attached, and it’s natural to be protective of them. That’s how you were justifying you’re feelings at this point, but it wasn’t working out too well. It wasn’t painfully obvious that you felt more then friendship towards James, everyone knew you two were close so no one suspected a thing. Especially not James, he was too head over heels for Lily Evans. Lately he hasn’t played you a lick of attention, he was too busy trying to catch hers. It’s not that you didn’t like Lily in fact you two were very close friends, you just envied her. You envied how easily she captured his attention and had him wrapped around her finger with a few simple words. It was just so frus-”Y/N! Y/N! Y/N!” Your other best friend Victoria was frantically waving her hands in front of your face standing in front of where you were previously spaced out sitting at a library table.  “Yes” you replied in a monotone voice, still in a daze from your little disconnection from reality and a little thrown off  by your thought path. “What are you doing I’ve been looking for you forever!” she shrieked. “Why what’s wrong?” I asked. “No. You’ve just been missing for hours and everyone was getting worried. It’s almost curfew and no one had seen you since last class. Did you skip dinner? Have you been here the whole time? I swear I checked here at least five times.” She bombarded you with a tsunami of words. “Wait is it really that late I didn’t even realize” I said as I rushed to pack up all my books and parchment. Had I really been zoned out for that long? “Well hurry up I don’t wanna be caught out past curfew I already have detention for what feels like the rest of my life” she overdramatized. “Okay, okay I’m going as fast as I can” I said as we made our way through the halls back to the commun room.

When we entered I felt nauseas at the sight of Lily and James basically snogging each others faces off on one of the sofas. Victoria saw you quickly look away and whispered in your ear “Just ignore them.” Linking your arms together and ushering you to your dorm. Your other roommates were all sitting around in the room doing their own little things. “Finally you found her!” exclaimed Abbey. “Wait honey what’s wrong?” asked Cara as she looked up form her book seeing your solem expression. “Ah it’s not because of that Potter boy again is it? You just need to get over him,” stated Abbey matter offactly. You didn’t even respond, instead just flopping down on your bed. “Look Y/n it’s gonna get better you’ll get over him,” said Victoria sitting down next to you. “How am I supposed to get over my best friend, I’ve known him for so long?” I asked “Well first you’ll realize that he’s a bloody bloke if he decided to choose her over you. Then you’ll find a new boy and you won’t even give Potter a single thought.” Abbey said as if she just solved a difficult math question. “It’s not that easy Abbey” victoria chastised her. “No she might be somewhat right. What if you found another boy to get over James, like a rebound?” Cara offered. “Is it really a rebound if we were never together?” I asked still replaying the scene from the common room over in my head. How happy they looked together. “It’s the principal that counts” Cara said. “Yeah that’s a great idea! It doesn’t have to mean anything. You can find a boy Saturday at the party after the quidditch game’” Abbey was way too fond of this plan. “I don’t know guys, I don’t even think i’ll go to the quidditch game” I said sitting up. “Now that’s just ridiculous of course you’re going to the qudiditch game and for once I actually agree with Abbey.” Victoria said “Well thanks for letting me know how you really feel about me,” Abbey mocked hurt.

It was Saturday night and the Hufflepuff team were down by so many points that they couldn’t even win if they caught the Golden Snitch. Of course it was James who was scoring all the points as he was ‘the best chaser in Hogwarts history’ as he liked to refer to himself. There he goes scoring yet again as the seekers continued to chase the golden snitch around the pitch. It wasn’t long before Gryffindor caught the golden snitch and the crowd went absolutely ballistic. James being the cocky bastard he was did a victory lap around the stands winking at me as he flew by. Everyone started making their way off the stands and towards the players to congratulate them. It seemed like Lily was the first one down, throwing herself into his arms like you used to when he still paid his “best friend” a care in the world. Using that term loosely now considering he hasn’t given me more then a handful of acknowledgments since him and Lily stated their little love affair.

Meanwhile I was still sitting on the bleachers next to Remus, the rest of our friend had been lost in the crowd. “So I assume you’re going to the party?” he inquired. “I don’t really know yet I’m not in a party mood tonight,” I replied in a slight daze, James and Lilys display having thrown me off. “That’s exactly how I feel but Sirius would have my head if I don’t attend the ‘most legendary party ever’ as he’s been calling it” he said. We both laughed lightly because only Sirius could make such a big deal of one of the hundreds of partys thrown every year. “Well I suppose if you’re going it wouldn’t hurt to give you some company” I said with a slight smile somewhat distracted from my previously gloomy thoughts.

We walked together, in no rush, back to the Gryffindor common room. By the time we got there the party was already in full swing and it seemed that Sirius was already wasted as he stumbled up to the two of you “What a surprise my two favorite people,” we said while balancing his entire body weight on Remus, leaning against him with an arm swung over his shoulder. “Where’ve you two been? James was asking ‘bout ya” he slurred his word together at the end making his words barley eligible. “Why was he looking for me?” remus asked confused. “Not you Moony the pretty one” Sirius said grabbing a lock of your hair twirling it around his finger and winking at you before he went prancing off sloppily to some other people. “We should probably try to slow his drinking,” you said. “There’s no point trying, you take a cup of fire whiskey out of his hands and the second you turn around he’s got two more.” He joked even though we both knew it was true. Shouldn’t you go talk to James anyway, find out what he wanted?” He more so pointed out then actually asking. Just then as you looked across the room you spotted him a cup of alcohol in is hand and Lily perched on his lap. Averting your gaze “I think I’ll enjoy your company much more.” you said and he gave you a goofy grin.

As the night went on you and Remus had found a couch that wasn’t occupied by drunk couples trying to get it on. You were slightly intoxicated, that’s putting it lightly. Your friends kept popping up to have a quick chat and handing you different concoctions every couple minutes. Remus on the other hand was sober as could be, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t enjoying the beautiful giggling girl hanging off his arm and practically sitting in his lap going off about how her little brother once brought a niffler home and tried to keep it as a pet. His cheeks blazing at the extremely close proximity. You hadn’t even noticed how close you were to him, not really being aware of anything all your senses were slowed and your brain was fuzzy just saying anything that came to mind. “We should go for a walk” you said giggling again even though you hadn’t said anything funny “It’s getting really stuffy in here I need some air” Grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the exit before receiving a reply. You two were in the hallway in no time, you prancing around and Remus trying to keep up. “It’s still so hot out here,” you exclaimed cursing your clothes. You ripped your sweater off and threw it away, Remus scrambling to pick it up while you keep gallivanting away. “Woah Y/n maybe you should slow down” You stopped abruptly and turned on your heels grinning wildly as he skidded to a stop right in front of you. Your breath fanning across his chest before you looked up to his eyes “Thank you Rem, you’re a real great guy” looping your arms around his neck, your fingers playing with the little wisps of hair at his nape. “Why are you thanking me I haven’t done anything” he stuttered out, trying desperately to not stare at your chest that was pressed against his “Oh but you’ve done so much for me” you said barley above a whisper but it was loud and clear to him. His heart racing a mile a minute as you leant closerand closer until your lips met.

You tasted of fire whiskey and sweetness. He placed his hands on your hips as you kept tugging on his hair. Neither of you hearing the loud steps comig your way. Your reaction was slow when Remus was so quiqly pulled away from you and pushed against the wall by a fuming James Potter. “What do you think you’re doing mate.” He yelled at Remus. “Woah Prongs calm down” Remus tried to defuse the situation but if anything he just made James more livid. You still drunk off your ass decided it would be a good idea to jump on his back to try and stop him “Rem run i’ll hold him off,” you said in a panicy tone “and see ya tomorrow save me a muffin at breakfast” you giggiled totally forgetting how paniced you were a moment ago. Remus jogged off down the hallway you still on James’ back.

“What the bloody hell do you think you were doing with Remus of all people” James pried you off his back so he could face you “What’s that supposed to mean?” you questioned giggling because of James furrowed eyebrows. “You two were just snogging in the hallway, you can’t just going around doing that Y/n” he elaborated still so very angry. “Why not you and Lily do it all the time? Why am I nto allowed to do it” you started getting upset, all the suppressed emotions rising up in a fury. James soffened as soon as he saw you getting upset “look Y/n I’m-” he tried apologising but you interrupted him “No James tell me why can’t I be happy? You think you can just leave me and i’ll stop everything I’m doing until you come back? No James I’m done. I am so over always being second to that Lily Evans.” You were now yelling hysterically, tears streaming down your face, completely inconsolable. James was shocked into silence not knowing how to respond to your outburst. “Why not me? Why wasn’t I good enough? I loved you so damn much and you picked her. You chased after her all these years while I was here the whole time. Then as soon as she acknowledges your existence I’m completely throw aside, I get replaced by some stuck up red head who ignored you for years!” It was all coming out now, your body racked with sobs. James pulled you into to his chest ignoring your attemps to push him away just holding you close whispering “I’m so sorry” and “I didn’t know” over and over like a broken record. “Do you know how much it hurts? I loved you. I love you, and you don’t even care about me, all you care about is her.”

That’s how the remaider of your night went. Not really coming to a resolution, just letting it all out as James held you, and when you finally fell asleep he carried you back to your dorm placing you in bed. This was a conversation for tomorrow, when you were sober, right now you just needed to sleep. To live in your dreams and shut out reality.

Yousana AU: whatever your soulmate writes/draws on their skin appears on your skin too

——————————————————————————————————

The first time Sana has heard about it she was 6. At least that’s the first time she remembers hearing of it.

“You need to stop scribbling your To-do list on your hands!”, she had heard her father complain about her Mamma to her Mamma. He was still laughing about it though. “That’s what notebooks are there for.”

Sana was sitting at the dinner table. Her eldest brother sitting across from her, Elias next to her. Their parents on each end of the table.

Sana remembers sitting there, confused of what her dad meant. Why would it bother him if she wrote on her hands? That’s something Sana did sometimes too. When she was drawing pictures she sometimes accidentally drew on herself and sometimes she just tried to see if she could draw flowers on her hands and arms. And other times little drawings just appeared on her skin. She didn’t think much of it because it happened often and the drawings faded and vanished not too long after they appeared.

At that time at the dinner table, being too preoccupied with fighting over the last slice of dessert with Elias, she didn’t think about it any more.

Not much time passed, in Sana’s first year of school, she heard older girls talking about their soulmates. One time, when waiting for her dad to pick her up from school, she heard two girls of the highest grade in school talk and one of them was complaining and almost crying.

“How am I supposed to find my soulmate? I don’t even understand what he’s writing on the back of his hand all the time. It looks like Russian or something.” She had held her hand up to show it to her friend. But Sana saw the untidy writing too. “I don’t know any Russian people, what if I never find my soulmate?”

That girl was hysterical but Sana didn’t understand why. She was too young to care about soulmates. Neither did she understand the concept of soulmates completely.  So when her dad came to pick her up, Sana instantly asked him.

“Does everyone really have a soulmate? How do you find them? Is Mamma your soulmate? Do you always find your soulmate?”

She was fascinated by her dad’s explanation.
Everyone has a soulmate. Someone they are destined to be with. Their other half. And whatever you write on your skin appears on your soulmate’s skin; whatever they write on their skin appears on your skin.

“Your Mamma and I were friends for some time and I had already fallen in love with her before we realized we were soulmates.” This story makes Sana’s heart grow every time she thinks of it. That was the first time somebody talked to her about soulmates, the first time she really understood why she had random drawings or scribblings on her arms once in a while, the first time many small conversations she overheard made sense.

Still, she was only 6 years old and didn’t realize that her dad didn’t answer all her questions. He had left Sana’s last question unanswered.

It all sounded like a fairy-tale to her. Going about your life and finding random drawings on your skin every once in a while which will tell you who your soulmate is.

Well, unfortunately this feeling didn’t last forever.

Until she turned 14 little words or tiny drawings kept appearing on Sana’s skin. But nothing out of the ordinary. Usually just reminders for homework, or other insignificant things that didn’t have a bigger meaning for Sana.

After that, for a very long time Sana didn’t see anything on her skin that she didn’t write or draw. It’s not like she looked for something new every day, that’s not what she did. Not many people do that. Usually, it just happens and you laugh about a bad drawing or the poor handwriting. Many people don’t put much significance on the fact that your soulmate indirectly paints your skin.

Unfortunately, in contradiction to what Sana believed when she was 6, not everyone finds their soulmate. Many people fall in love with someone whose drawing on their own skin doesn’t end up on their wife or husband’s skin.
It’s accepted, it’s almost the norm by now. Only a small percentage of people are lucky enough to fall in love with their soulmate. Sana’s parents are one of those lucky couples.

Sana was fine with that. She might not find her soulmate because maybe, she thought, soulmates are over glorified. You probably don’t need to find them to be in a happy relationship.

So when Sana found herself looking forward to every time her brother brought his friends home, she didn’t care if that one boy with the dark, slightly curly hair who always found a way to spend a few minutes alone with her, just making small-talk, was her soulmate or not. All she cared about was Yousef smiling at her from across the room whenever Sana was in his field of vision. All she cared about was Yousef going out of his way to make Sana feel better whenever he notices something is up. All she cared about were the butterflies she felt when Yousef was near her.

Sitting at a table on the school yard now, talking to Chris, Eva, Vilde and Noora made Sana remember all of this. Vilde talks about the essay she wrote in her exams today and that she wrote about the topic of soulmates and how big the chance is that they meet.

None of the girls at the table have found their soulmate yet. No surprise here that most of them have a rather pessimistic view on finding your one and only soulmate. The older you get, the less you care about that. Because you know how small the chance of you actually meeting them and additionally falling in love with them is.

“All my soulmate ever writes on his hand are reminders on when to do stuff. But he never writes what he has to remember. Just the time.”, Chris explains and absentmindedly covers her left hand with her right hand.

“Mine doesn’t write anything at all.”, Sana mentions. She had mentioned it before, when she talked with Chris about this. But all of them discussing this topic is very unusual. It’s not something this group of friends talks much about.

Right when Eva starts talking about very immature drawings that sometimes appear on her left arm, Sana’s phone beeps three times back to back. She unlocks her phone and bites her lip to not grin too much.

She received three texts from Yousef.

“Did your exam go well?”

“Wait, no. It definitely did.”

“But how well? That’s the right question.”

Sana forgets to try to contain her smile while she answers him that it went better than she expected because it was a hard exam.
And she also writes “But aren’t you supposed to be working right now?” and sends the message.
Sana only looks up from her phone when the girls call her name all at the same time.

“Huh?”, is all Sana can ask. Her eyes fall down on her phone once again and she sees Yousef is typing something.

“Sana, is a handsome, tall, dark haired boy you’re in love with texting you right now?” Noora asks which makes all the other girls laugh. Even Sana laughs a little but quickly presses her lips together to make herself stop.

“It definitely is Yousef. Nobody else makes Sana smile this much.” Vilde answers instead of Sana who refused to say something to that.

But now Sana looks up at them again and explains:“ He only asked how my exam went.”, while he should be working, she thinks to herself and smiles a little. Sana’s phone beeps two times in a row but she doesn’t look what the texts are because she knows the girls are waiting for it.

She sees all four of them smiling broadly at her, their smiles almost unnervingly wide.

“O yeah. He’s only ever asking how your exam went.”, Noora says with an ironic tone.

“Or how your basketball game went.”, Chris adds.

“If he wasn’t there himself.”, Eva mentions with her eyebrows raised. Yousef barely ever misses her Basketball games. It started as him tagging along when Elias came to watch and now Yousef is almost always there, in the audience, clapping and cheering.

“Or how the Russe-van is coming along.”, Vilde adds, “Russe girls rule the world, right?”

Sana can’t help but smile widely because even when the girls just want to tease her in this moment, Sana is aware that Yousef does all that because he cares. She blushes at that thought but tries to shake it off before the girls notice.

Sana acts annoyed and says:“ I’m not telling you anything ever again.” Sometimes she regrets sharing so much with her friends because they find a way to use it to tease her. Since her and Yousef have been getting closer, the girls don’t miss a chance to do exactly that.

“Aww, Sana. Don’t be like that.”, Chris says laughingly and hugs Sana to her side for a few seconds.

“But honestly, who needs a soulmate if they have someone like Yousef already.”, Eva blurts out, not intending to do so. The girls know Sana doesn’t care about that but being reminded is still not pleasant.

Vilde leans a little forward in her seat and asks: “Sana, are you sure he’s not your soulmate? You two fit perfectly into the description of how soulmates are supposed to be.”

Sana doesn’t realize she does it but she sighs, maybe even a little disappointed. She shakes her head and answers: “There was not an instance that made it seem like it.” Her soulmate hasn’t been very creative on his skin and Sana has not seen anything she wrote on his skin. That could be because what she writes vanishes from the skin of her soulmate not long after she writes something on her own. To be honest, she didn’t look for it either. Maybe, just maybe, she feared to be disappointed.

A few minutes later Eva, Noora and Vilde need to get to their next class but Sana and Chris have the rest of the day off.

Sana finally gets the chance to look at her phone again and reads the two messages from Yousef.

“I had a five minute break. I’m never on my phone while working, you know that :) ”

“I’ll get off work in half an hour. Wanna meet me here and go eat something together?

Sana looks at the time and calculates that he’ll be done with work in 15 minutes. Just enough time to walk to the kindergarten, the place Yousef means with ‘here’. She texts him back, which he will see when he’s done.

“I’ll be there :)

Chris and Sana end up walking the same way. The kindergarten Yousef works in is on the way to Chris’ house. Sana enjoys just walking around and talking with Chris because even though she is light-hearted and funny most of the time, Chris is one of Sana’s favorite people to talk to. About anything and everything.
When they arrive at the kindergarten Chris and Sana have finished discussing their exams and they hug goodbye. However, when they part from the hug and Chris wants to go past Sana to walk home, she stumbles. Sana quickly holds onto Chris’ arm. She stands up straight again and both girls start laughing because something like this always happens to them.

Chris, however, stops laughing before Sana which confuses Sana. Chris is staring down and to see what made her stop laughing Sana follows her gaze. Chris is staring at Sana’s hands.

“I thought your soulmate doesn’t ever draw?” Chris asks. The question sounds more excited than anything else. This confuses Sana and she quickly raises her left hand. A little stick figure, a small flower and something that looks like an upside-down V appear and vanish a few seconds later.

Sana doesn’t know how to feel. It’s the first time in forever that this happens but she doesn’t care because she is about to meet Yousef who is perfect for her; it doesn’t matter if it wasn’t him who drew that stupid little stick figure on his hand.

Chris just waits for Sana to say something, which she doesn’t. Sana just shrugs and smiles which Chris takes as a sign to leave then.

“I’m outside :)”, Sana texts Yousef and leans on the wall.
She turns her phone in her hand a few times and gets nervous because she’ll see Yousef in a few minutes. A good type of nervous. She feels more than comfortable with him and hasn’t seen him yesterday so her excitement is even bigger than usual. She might not always show it but she is really glad that Yousef is in her life, and not only as her older brother’s best friend.

Sana’s phone beeps twice. Two messages from Elias.

“I’m getting Pizza for lunch”

“Want your usual pizza? You deserve it after your exam!”

Sana smiles to herself and texts him back.

“Thank you, Elias.”

“But I’m eating lunch with Yousef. See you later :)”

Five minutes later Yousef walks out of the building and his eyes immediately search for Sana and find her. She pushes herself off of the wall and waits for him and smiles at him. He looks a little stressed but once she smiles, he smiles.

“Hi.”

“Hi.”, they greet each other at the same time.

Yousef puts his jacket on, which he was holding in his left hand and his backpack in his right hand. Sana goes to take his backpack to hold until he puts his jacket an.

“Sorry for making you wait.”, Yousef says, looking genuinely sad about it, “But three kids drew on me while I was busy with another kid and when I pulled my hand back two of them got mad. Because drawing on someone doesn’t hurt the person being drawn on. So I had to explain why No means No even if it’s something small like that. And I tried to get the color off my hand.”

Sana stands there, engrossed in his story. She loves how passionate he is about the kids he works with and that he puts so much effort into teaching them even the smallest things.

“It’s fine, really. I didn’t wait that long anyway.”, Sana says. Yousef who was preoccupied with his backpack he took from Sana again, looks up at her and smiles broadly when he sees her smiling at him. They stand like that for a few seconds. Just smiling and looking each other into the eyes.

Finally, they snap out of their little bubble when Sana asks if he’s ready to go. Yousef nods but first points at his head but says: “There’s a bug on your hood.“

Sana just raises her eyebrows and doesn’t get to say anything because Yousef asks: "Should I ..”, and motions to get the bug off of her hood. Sana nods and Yousef comes closer, takes the bug and puts it on one of the bushes close to them. Then he goes to stand in front of Sana again who says Thanks. Yousef just nods and drags his left hand through his hair. Sana’s eyes follow that movement and something catches her eye. Her heart beats even faster for a second. Sana steps closer to him and instinctively takes his left hand in hers and looks at it.

“Eh.. Sana..”, Yousef says pretty confused with the situation. He doesn’t mind it in the slightest that she’s so close but her staring at his hand is a little weird.

Sana looks up, into his eyes and tries to catch her breath. Sana sees a little smudged line right in the middle of Yousef’s back of the hand. Exactly where the upside down V appeared on Sana’s hand, on the same spot, not long ago.

“What did the kids draw on your hand?”, Sana asks. She doesn’t even know what kind of answer would make her happy. But she couldn’t stop herself from asking.

Yousef furrows his eyebrows, still confused. “Well, I’m not sure. A stick figure, a flower and a girl tried to write my name but because I don’t like anything drawn on me I pulled my hand away before she could finish the Y.”

Yousef explains oblivious to Sana’s thoughts. Once Sana processes what this means she breaks into a grin and can’t contain it. Yousef, who was too confused to react first, finally understands what Sana could be thinking. Sana drops Yousef’s hand and hastily goes through her bag to get a pen out of it. She really hopes she is right. Otherwise the next thing she is going to do will be awkward as hell.

Now, Yousef understood what Sana is doing and he definitely knows what she was thinking seconds ago. Both of them hold their breath as Sana holds the pen close to the palm of her left hand. Yousef raises his own left hand and turns his hand so that his palm shows upward.

Sana and Yousef stand very close, not even one step between them. Sana looks one more time into Yousef’s eyes before she draws in the middle of her palm. She closes her eyes for a moment and hopes she was right. She never hoped she was right so much.

“Sana.”, she hears Yousef and raises her head to look at him. The biggest grin on his face, Yousef is holding his left hand up, sporting the same heart in the middle of his palm as Sana drew on her own palm.

“Aah!”, Sana shrieks without being able to control it and her pen falls out of her hand as she jumps to hug Yousef. She wraps her arms around his neck and he doesn’t hesitate to hug her back, just as closely.

Sana didn’t care if Yousef wasn’t her soulmate. She loved him anyway. But having the confirmation that he is indeed her soulmate made her happier than she thought she would be about this. Sana can’t stop smiling the whole time they hug and even when they part from the hug and look at each other. Yousef has the same big smile playing on his lips and he takes Sana’s left hand once more and turns her hand to see the heart again. Sana does the same as him; she takes his left hand and turns it to see the heart. It already started to fade but it doesn’t matter.

“We’re soulmates, I guess.”,  Sana finally says.

Yousef laughs at that and nods.

“But you know, I didn’t need to see this…”, he lifts his hand once more, “… to know that you’re my soulmate!”

Nessian - Depressed!Cassian

Here is part 3/the last part of my Nessian fic. Thanks for reading. Enjoy the angst! Part 1, Part 2

[Depressed!Cassian - 3/3]

Three days later, Nesta knocked on Cassian’s door. She had no idea what she was doing there. What she was going to say.

She waited for him to give her permission to enter. She wore a velvet dress in deepest blue. The sleeves were long and tight, the neckline modest.

“Who is it?” Cassian said from within.

“Nesta,” she replied in a voice that was smaller than she’d intended.

“Come in.”

She took a deep breath and opened the door.

Home (Seungcheol)

24: “You okay? You seem little off today.”

42: “oh thank goodness…I didn’t think you’d still be here.”

You didn’t want to seem desperate, but maybe you were. You wanted to give him space, not seem so clingy, so maybe that’s why you have to do everything to restrain yourself every day from calling him. But maybe just once, you thought, just once you could be a tiny bit clingy.

You held the phone to your ear, heart racing, eyes moving all around the room. The ringing caused time to move slowly. Your knee bounced rapidly, fingers tapping your thigh. Just as you were about to give up all hope, there was a click.

A smile broke on your face, “Seungcheol!”

“The number you are trying to reach…..”

Voicemail.

With a deflated heart, you pulled your knees to your chest. The darkness outside began to consume you, the loneliness slowly settling itself in.

The vibration of your phone shook you. Your heart leaped but once again fell. It wasn’t a text or a call. No. It was a vlive. Ah, you thought, the boys were live. You clicked on the notification. You assumed you weren’t going to see Seungcheol, but what was the harm in watching his other members play around.

Your lips tugged upward, scanning the four boys. Chan, Soonyoung, Seokmin. The smile dropped. Seungcheol. You’re eyes fell, a defeated sigh leaving your lips. For 5 minutes you watched him smile, listened to his laugh, saddened at his voice.

Did he really ignore my call?

You watched as the live came to an end. One minute passed. Two. Then three. Four. Maybe I should try again.

Your finger hovered over the call button. Pressing it lightly, holding the phone to your ear. It rang once. Click.

“Seungcheol!”

“The number you are….”

End.

Eyes threatening to water, you held yourself back. An idea popped in your head. You scrolled through your contacts, quickly clicking on the boy’s phone number.

He answered right away, “Y/N!!!!!” the boy screamed in excitement. A smile crawling onto your lips, a happy sigh being let out.

“Channie.”

“Did you watch our live. I looked cool right.”

You giggled at the boy’s enthusiasm, “you were the coolest. Say, um. Is Seungcheol there?”

Chan hummed for a moment, “How come you didn’t just call hyung?”

“I..uh..” you thought for moment, “I didn’t want to wake him if he fell asleep quickly. I knew you’d still be up.”

Chan hummed once again in agreement, “yeah hold on a second. He’s right here.” you could hear Chan’s voice as it moved away from the phone, handing it over to Seungcheol.

“Hello?” His voice was low and tired.

You felt the calm rush over you, eyes beginning to water slowly. God you missed his voice. How long had it been you wondered 3 months since you last saw him?

“Hey.” your voice fell quiet, “You okay? You seem a little off today. I tried calling.”

Seungcheol let out a sigh, one that sounded more annoyed of you, “yeah. I’m just really tired right now. You know practice and promotions. Plus Jihoon is really hovering over my shoulder to get these lyrics done. And you know how it is.”

“Ah…” your voice slowly cracked. You coughed hoping he didn’t notice, “I just missed you that’s all. We hadn’t talked on the phone in a long time.”

The annoyed sigh was released once again, “You can’t keep doing this. Calling me just randomly. I’m really busy okay. I told you I’d call you when I have the time.”

A fire was lit inside of you, “so I’m just suppose to wait around next to my phone waiting for your call. What am I, someone you can just call up for fun.”

Seungcheol could feel the small glances he was receiving from the few member that had walked in the room, “We’ll talk about this when I get home.”

“Home?” You scoffed, “I’m surprised you remember this place over here was your home since you’ve been living at the dorms for the last 3 months.”

“Stop being such a drama queen!” Seungcheol raised his voice. The members stared for a moment but he disregarded them, “I’m the one paying for you to stay there! So stop whining just because I’m not there twenty four seven!”

His harsh words stunned you. Your mouth was left agape, your eyes gave away, letting the flood gates open. You hung up the phone, letting him have the last say as you broke completely in the middle of the living room.

Seungcheol tossed the phone onto the couch. Chan grabbed his cell phone and the others stared at him in concern. Silence plagued the room.

Chan stood uncomfortably, “You didn’t have to yell at her.”

Seungcheol looked at the boy, “what.”

“Y/N didn’t do anything wrong.”

“I didn’t yell at her okay. It was just a mini fight. It’ll blow over.”

“Chan’s right.” Jeonghan spoke up, “she’s your girlfriend. Of course she’s going to call you. She’s probably worried sick.”

Seungcheol squeezed his eyes shut, “This is between me and Y/N. Just butt out.”

Jeonghan stood from his seated spot, “Between you and Y/N? It doesn’t sound like that anymore. You basically told her the only reason she’s with you is because you pay for where she lives.”

Seungcheol opened his mouth to protest but Jeonghan intervened.

“She can’t call you but you can call her? Honestly she wouldn’t even be with you right now if it wasn’t for the rest of us updating her on her idiotic boyfriend.”

Updating? Seungcheol looked in confusion, “what are you talking about?”

“This is the first time she’s called you in 3 months because you’ve been so self absorbed in yourself.” Jeonghan pulled out his cell phone, scrolling to your name in his messages, “did you even notice that she hasn’t called you.” Jeonghan shoved the cell into Seungcheol’s hand.

Y/N: hey jeonghan. I watched you guys perform on tv. It was great. I know Cheol is busy so please take care of him for me.

Y/N: Please make sure Cheol is eating his meals, he looked a little skinny in the last performance. Don’t forget to eat yourself too!!

Y/N: i haven’t called Cheol in a long time. I hope he’s not too worried. I know how absorbed he gets into his work sometime so please make sure he stays healthy.

Y/N: Cheol hasn’t come home in a while. I hope he’s resting at the dorms. Please make sure he’s taking breaks, don’t let him over work himself so much. Take care of yourself too!!

Y/N: 3 months pass by slowly when I can’t see you guys. Don’t overwork yourselves. Also, can you make sure Cheol is alright. I haven’t seen him in a while, I hope he’s okay.

Seungcheol stares at the screen. 3 months. Did he really forget about you for 3 months. And here you were, every day, making sure the others were taking care of him. All because you knew he always put work first. Jeonghan’s phone vibrated in his hand.

Y/N: you probably won’t hear from me for a while. Please take extra care of Seungcheol for me in my place.

Seungcheol gripped the phone tightly. Idiot. He hated himself. He loathed himself. He wanted to punch himself so much at the moment. How could you still possibly care for him after he had spoke so harshly to you. His heart began to race.

you probably won’t hear from me for a while

What did that mean? Were you going to end it with him? Were you leaving? Seungcheol stood up hastily, shoving the phone back to Jeonghan as everyone watched him curiously.

“Where are you going?”

Seungcheol slipped his jacket on, struggling with his shoes, “I’ll be back later.” He flew out the door.

By now your tears had ceased. You hadn’t known if it was because you were numb or if you had literally cried all your tears out. Your body weak and tired, you dragged yourself to the kitchen, opening the fridge and pulling a water bottle out to hydrate yourself. Your shoulders felt heavy as you moved slowly, closing the fridge door, you heard the slam of something louder.

Seungcheol stood before you. He was still panting, out of breath because he decided it would be faster to climb four flights of stairs to the apartment. He noticed your state, hair a mess, eyes and nose red, your limbs looking smaller than he remembered. But most importantly, he saw you standing in his home.

He ran towards you. Entering the home with his shoes still on, his arms engulfed you. Seungcheol buried his face in the crook of your neck, taking in the scent he was deprived of for 3 months, “oh thank goodness…I didn’t think you’d still be here.” his voice hitched, “I thought I lost you. I thought I’d come home and everything about you would be gone. I’m so stupid. I’m so utterly stupid.”

You felt the wet tears of his drip onto your neck. The water bottle rolled off your fingers as you brought your arms to wrap around his shoulders. You took the softness of his touch in, your sadness, your anger, the loneliness, all of it slipped away, “Welcome home.”

“Hamilton,” Lafayette knocked on the door of a room in the house they were occupying at the moment. When he received no response, he let himself in and went over to Hamilton, who was hunched over, writing furiously. “Alexander.”

[SFW] Zarya has an adorable girlfriend

“Attention members of Overwatch. The inbound airship flight 218 is now landing. Please gather your party at the gate. Luggage can be collected from loading bay C.” Athena’s voice rang out clear as a bell over the intercoms and a mad dash to the flight deck commenced. It was visitors week! Friends and family were invited to Watchpoint Gibraltar to spend time with their loved ones and tour the facilities. Emotions ran high as the passengers stepped one by one onto the floor.

Some visitors had made the journey many times before and walked confidently to their hero. Emily zipped right over to Tracer, a hauntingly beautiful woman was scooped up by Reinhardt, and Torbjorn was overrun with children! Others waited patiently to be claimed. One such girl leaned against some crates, scanning the crowd with chocolate brown eyes.

“My yagodka! Are you waiting to be plucked from your vine?” Zarya rushed over to her girlfriend and pulled her into a tender embrace. “You’ve changed your haircolor again! How am I ever supposed to recognize you?” You giggled and gave a flip of those newly tinted red locks. “Do I really look so different? I’m still the shortest one in the room.” It was true. You barely made 4 foot 9.

“Not for long mishka.” Without warning Zarya picked you up an tossed you onto those broad shoulders. You squealed out in delight. Then the bodybuilder’s voice boomed with pride. “See? You have risen like the morning sun. Let your beauty shine down on us all.” The overwatch team and their loved ones cheered at this jovial display. You blushed with modesty. “Zarya, everyone’s staring at me!”

“Good. I want them to know how perfect you are. Every day I fight, I fight for you. You are my everything.” A few people made awkward introductions and you greeted them from your muscled throne. Mei asked how you did your makeup, D.Va complimented your hair. Everyone was so kind.

Once people had grabbed their belongings, Athena called the guests to supper and the crowd thinned out. Zarya stood you back on your own two feet. Before heading to eat, you jumped up and gave her a peck on the cheek. “Let’s go get something to eat. We have to keep you good and strong.” Zarya placed her hand on the small of your back and guided you to the mess hall, chattering away about all her grand adventures.

Even if you don’t care about Secret Wars, you should be reading Planet Hulk.  Why?

Because it’s pretty much an AU fanfic of gladiator fighter Steve Rogers

invading a continent of Hulk-people

with his trusty dinosaur friend

to rescue Bucky Barnes.

Genre: Angst, Sad

Summary: It’s been 6 months since the road accident, and as Jaebum + the rest of GOT7 talk about all the good times to come in the future - Jaebum can’t help but let self hatred consume him. Until…something unthinkable happens.

Please note that this scenario contains mentions of cheating, road/car accidents, hospitals and comas.

This scenario also contains a text message imagine ^_^

{Part 1} //{Part 4} {Part 5} {Part 6}

Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months since the night you had been hit by the car on the street just outside where you had followed Jaebum and the woman he had been seeing behind your back – the woman who Jaebum had been sharing his affections with in the months leading up to the tragic accident.

Since that night, Jaebum – against the wishes of the rest of GOT7, JYP and the hospital staff – had not left your side other than to use the private shower and bathroom in your hospital room. He was grateful to the nurses who allowed him to bring his own futon to lie at the side of your bed; however he didn’t sleep much anyway. Every small noise, every small stir was significant to Jaebum’s psyche as he bolted awake at any tiny noise he heard in the hopes that it was you coming around – in the hopes that you were finally waking up.

summary: peter comes to bring you to neverland, but it’s too late.

based on: some prompts from a quotes list

warning: ooc pan

A familiar pitter-patter on the window gave you the first clue of his presence. Windows jittered all night, a soft pelting of rain dropping outside. But this soft knocking on the window?

Anything but natural.

Even with windows locked and curtains down, you knew he’d get in. Pulling yourself from the warmth of your duvet, you crept into the kitchen drawing a cream cardigan atop your shoulders. A coffee mug soon appeared in your hands, the radiating warm of the caffeine inside exciting your fingertips for this not-so-exciting encounter. You sat idly in your dimly lit kitchen, waiting anxiously for his appearance, his explanation. The rattling windows halted, broken by the startling crash of a window being forced open.

He emerged from the bedroom, fading moonlight illuminating him softly. He glanced around your home, his head peaking until he spotted you.

“(Y/N)!” he rushed at you with a youthful excitement, warmly embracing you with your stoic return. He pulled away.

“(Y/N)?” his hands brushed your face, confusing lining the shadows that highlighted his features. He still had those glowing youthful eyes.

“Hello Peter.” you uttered, shifting forward into the moonlight. Your coffee mug clinked on the countertop.

His face twisted in visible disgust, his hands once resting on your hips fell to his sides. “You’ve changed.”

He pulled away, turning away from you. “I suppose I have, yes.”

“I only saw you the other night, (Y/N). You’re different - you’ve grown up!” he whipped back around, his childish temper evident in his scowl.

“How am I to be blamed?!” you shouted, advancing on him and bringing him to face you. “Ten years Peter, ten! I sat and waited by my window for you.”

He shuddered. “And I never came back.”

“God Peter, I loved you to the moon, but you never came back for me.”

It felt pathetic to cry, shedding tears over something long finished. He remained silent, the passing of time finally dawning on him.

“(Y/N), I-I’m so horribly sorry. I never meant-”

“I know, I know.” you interrupted gingerly, arms crossed. “You never meant for this.”

“You can still come with me.” he spoke through broken tears, resting his hands on your face, “I still love you (Y/N). This can still work.”

You wiped a stray tear from your eye and cast them downward. “We both know that’s not true Peter.”

“Do you not feel the same anymore?!” he yelled, temper rising again. “I know I made mistakes, (Y/N)!”

“I can never unlove you, I just love you in a different way now.” your eyes met his, his green soul weeping. “Things are just different now.”

He stood silent. “I, I suppose I understand.”

He started off, back towards the window. But your hand caught him first. You brought him in for a light peck on the cheek. “Thank you Peter Pan, for everything.”

He smiled grimly. “And you.”

With that, the boy king took his leave, nothing short of a goodbye. You watched as he drifted deep into the night sky, into a dream that could never be yours.
