On my page, there should be a link called location help. This is an initiative to help writers and authors write real life locations that they might never have been to, with far more accuracy than could be easily achieved through research alone. Now don’t get me wrong, research can get you pretty far. But haven’t you ever wished for a local on hand to consult?
Well, we’re aiming to help with that. At the moment we have a small collective of close writing buddies who’re willing to help you out with some local knowledge. We’re really hoping that we can help you out with your writing; in return all we ask is that you consider adding your name to the list to gift the same help to someone else. And if you want some good karma, consider adding your name and location(s) before borrowing someone else’s knowledge!
It’s hard to write diverse locations. Google can map the location of the streets but it can’t tell you how the wind smells, or how the accent rings coarse in your ears. But a local knows, and here they’re willing to tell you.
So read the rules and then come on in! Knowledge is power after all.
