Jack Avery Imagine.
Title - Avery Afterdark.
Warnings - None.
Type - Fluff.
Curly mocha brown hair with honey highlights, hazel eyes, olive skin, pierced ears and dressed in black.
You never thought you’d be the type to fall for one of those boys. One that sneaks out at night, one that is openly a troublemaker, one that always speaks his mind (especially if it hurts people) and one that instils fear in everyone he looks at or even just walks past.
But here you are. Hopelessly head over heels for your next door neighbour. Jack Avery. You had lived next to each other for your whole life and it has built a kind of unspoken relationship between the two of you. You used to play together when you were little, but once you both got older and his reputation formed you’d be lucky to get a smile from him when you both leave for school in the morning but you definitely don’t interact with him at school. Lucky for you, you have never been caught in the crossfire of his anger, but you are starting to think it is less and less of a coincidence. There have been multiple times when he has been having a go at someone and turns to the person next to him ready to have a go at them but realising it’s you, he backs down.
You and Jack never speaking changed one night, and it was very unexpected.
You were laying in your bed trying to fall asleep, but having trouble due to the obnoxiously loud music coming from your neighbour’s house. The loud music was the only thing you could hear, so when your bedroom window was quietly opened you were completely unaware. However, you did hear a soft thud that caused you to jump and spring out of your bed, right into the arms of someone all dressed in black. Before you could resist you heard them mutter your name and you recognised their voice straight away. “Jack? What the heck are you doing? You gave me a heart attack?” You whisper-shout at him earning a deep chuckle from him. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” You could hear in his voice the sincerity of his apology. You walk around him to turn on the light and you pause for a second to fully go over what is happening.
In shock, all you managed to get out was a quiet “why?”. “Why what?” he sat down on your bed and you followed. “Why are you here? Aren’t you throwing a party? Why me? We haven’t spoken to each other in years.” you managed to nervously get out and you could tell you must have looked confused.
“Well, you see. Those people at that party aren’t really there for me, they are there for themselves for their reputation. None of them are real. And I’m here with you because I realised you are. I realised that all those years ago when I put my reputation in front of you and a=our friendship was the dumbest thing I have ever done. Every day I am reminded of that, whether I walk past your house, I hear you leaving on your way to school, or I see you choosing to be alone with just your book and especially when you smile and laugh. So, I’m here tonight to not only get out of there but to get you back, y/n. The girl who never does anything wrong but somehow got caught in my mess and I really hope she is willing to put my stupidity behind her and be my friend again” he said grabbing your hand and looking you in the eyes the entire time. “I know I’m supposed to say ‘I’ll think about it’ and I am supposed to actually think about it and consider the pros and cons but I don’t need to. Jack, you never do wrong. You got caught in the wrong crowd but your back now and I have never been happier to nearly have a heart attack in the middle of the night. Because if anyone were to come through that window tonight, I’m glad it was you.”
At this, you both hug and his touch drives you crazy, you can feel his head in the crook of your neck, his hair tickling your face as he exhales in relief. “I always told myself, I’d never become one of those boys” he admits as they pull apart. Shyly looking down you admit, “I always told myself, I’d never fall for one of those boys. But it’s fine because he never wanted to be one” you confidently admit and almost instantly regret but as you meet his eyes you realise that you were glad you said it.
“Oh, you’ve fallen for me have you y/l/n?” he looks into your eyes, darkly as his ‘bad boy’ reputation tries to break through. “Maybe I have, maybe I haven't” you remark, unaware of where this newfound confidence came from. “Say I have fallen for you, what would you do?” you ask liking where this is going and could progress to. “This,” he says before connecting your lips, roughly but still being gentle at the same time. His hands found your thighs as you kissed back and pulled you onto him so you were practically sitting on him. As you finally broke apart you replied “Then yes, yes I have fallen for you.” earning a slight giggle from the not so bad boy.
