honestly i don't even know if i ship these two... yet

anonymous asked:

Hi,Miss 7goodangel.I have a question for you...... Is PJ unable to ship now? There are a lot of people here who say you've banned PJ from ship. I don't know if it's true. Can you please tell me the answer? [[[Sorry, my English is poor;w;

OH GOSH - NO no no!!!
NOPE - NADA - NUH UH - HECK NAH.

PJ is NOT BANNED from ANY SHIP you wish to do.

I have never ever banned PJ from being in a fan ship! NEVER!

I still am fine with people shipping PJ in any ship they wish!

I’ve seen PJ and OC (like another person’s OC), PJ and Fresh, PJ and Goth, PJ and Palette, PJ and [a real person]…

This is my approach to the whole shipping thing…

Think of another fandom you like - for me I’ll go with the general Disney one.

Think of a canon ship that is within that movie/cartoon/story/comic. For a general Disney one - how about Mickey and Minnie! That one has been pretty hammered in that those two like each other. Heck I can even do Oswald and Ortensia since or that one based off of the Epic Mickey games, they actually are married and have kids.

But within the fandom - you will find a TON of pictures of Mickey and Oswald as a pairing. Now I believe most of these shippers know that their ship will never be canon - yet they still love it and do stuff for it. It’s another way of exploring characters - seeing how they play off of one another - and when in a romantic pairing, to see how they go through the hurdles of being in a relationship.
(or that they just really want Oz and Mick to kiss and- stuff.)

But my point is that if people can respect what is canon for something a huge company makes - and even for what a smaller independent creator does (like Undertale and Undyne+Alphys ship.) why can’t individual online creators that do stuff for fun not get the same treatment?

THAT is what I hope we can get to the point to. Just having respect that a fanship will not be canon but still go off and have fun with your headcanons of a fictional pairing!

It’s like.. PJ and Omni is the Mickey and Minnie in this scenario - and FreshPaper is the Mickey and Oswald. Just knowing that OmniPJ is the canon ship but still exploring ideas for other pairings and ships with other characters.

So TL;DR:

I will NEVER EVER ban someone shipping PJ with someone else. NEVER.

And honestly - I hope I can get back and start showing appreciation to ship drawings from any ship - canon or fanon - with PJ without this kind of confusion. Cause I seriously appreciate every single one of you - who ask questions to me, who follow me, like my art and drabbles, and even drawing my characters! Even if I prefer what I thought of for my character I still love seeing other’s interpretations, headcanons, and drawings!
But unfortuantly I am at a point where if I even show a little bit of liking a picture of PJ in a ship - people will think it’s the new canon and such.

However - gosh - I will never ever want to get to a point where I ban a ship entirely. I do NOT want to ever go down that path and trust me, I will do any other option before resulting to that ultimatum.

So GO AND SHIP MY FRIENDS - Just please remember to respect the canon ship.

That is all I ask. Give OmniPJ the same respect as other canon ships in other fandoms - but also go forth and have fun with your headcanons and ships!

Not saying you have to ship it - just go:

Someone else: “Well OmniPJ is the canon, but I like PJ with Fresh more. Well I will not go up and try to tell everyone that FreshPaper is the new ship and shove it above OmniPJ - but I will still do my story and tell people to go and learn more about canon PJ in the process! FreshPaper is a fan ship and while I know it won’t be canon - I will still have fun drawing / writing / discussing it!”

I honestly tried so hard not to ship Destiel but it's just one of those ships y'know you just kinda accidentally ship and I really don't wanna cause some of the fandom is kinda toxic but I can't help but to ship it

Dude, SAME.

Honestly, I’ve never shipped anything before (I liked it when Spike x Buffy did eventually go somewhere and was kinda beautiful but I didn’t really ship it), I didn’t even know what shipping was until I found tumblr a few months ago, I’m mostly straight (I’m a bit fluid but meh, mostly straight), and I never really thought about representation that much beyond ‘yeah, thats a great thing, there should be more of it’.

So I just watched the show (on my own) with no previous knowledge of anything at all and…. well…. it was so obvious?!

I mean, I just binge watched the show last year because I love sci-fi and I was in a bit of a bad place and needed a distraction and had watched all the Buffy/True Blood/GoT I could and was looking for something new.

I loved seasons 1-3, I did, but then, enter Castiel and literally, my life has kind of changed?! I have an obsessive personality anyway but…. jeez. What a character and WHAT A ROMANTIC GLORIOUS LOVE STORY!

And then it just dragged… and dragged…. and yet also GREW so much?!

So, like, what exactly are they doing? Well, I believe they know exactly what they are doing, especially since Dabb took over, but hey, let’s see…. but my blog description is ‘endgame Destiel positive’ so you know what I mean ;)

It’s all THERE, they all know its there, the writers USE it in their plots, the editors make it visually obvious, it’s even referenced in the show, the actors all KNOW, I mean come on!

It’s not our fault if they use all the romance tropes with these two.

I think it is very relevant that so many Destiel meta-writers and shippers have a background in understanding stories, being teachers, journalists, book worms, cinematography students etc etc and therefore can make pretty good conclusions from the material that is being shown.

I mean, the overall story of these two characters is that one is a fallen, rebellious Angel who just wants to feel Human and belong somewhere and loves caring for others and one is a faithless man with abandonment issues who just wants someone to stay with and care for him.

Said fallen Angel rebels and does it, all of it for Him, eventually looking to Him instead of God, is in return called ‘family’ and cared for himself.

Said Human learns to have Faith in and through his Angel and through this in himself, which is a key part of his overall story in the whole show.

They’re WRITTEN as each other’s canonical other half (see this post about how its a romantic and not a buddy story according to literary guidelines).

Their story is like so many rom-com, shakespearean and classical for that matter love/mythical stories where they start out on opposite sides and kind of meet in the middle you know? The idea being that they ‘complete’ each other and lead themselves to be the best that they can be and who they really are and want to be deep down? As these two clearly do?!

I’ve said before and I’ll say again, Dean and Cas are canonically central to each other’s CORE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT and their endgames are INTERLINKED.

I mean, if this was a guy and a girl and it was a movie, so all the story was shown in 1h30 minutes and at the end they were like oh, no, but you see, they’re just FRIENDS. Literally everyone would just be like WHAT?!

The fact that Disney movies and romcoms are so highly parallel-able with Destiel, because it fits that literary box - as a romance, not a buddy story or a drama or even a familial story, it does up to a point, but it definitely transcends this and moves into romance realms pretty early on, like, season 5 FFS.

It’s not our fault, the show made us do it.

If fandom wank is a problem for you, well, I don’t like it either, I guess no one does apart from the ones instigating it who seem to get a high off it, I just blacklist on tumblr and I don’t attend cons, so… meh, I have this gorgeous little space where we all know and all discuss what is happening and it is lovely, feel free to join us :)

i feel you so tough when it comes to season S3. I'm trying to limit the time I think about it, which actually is sort of a catch-22 because now it seems to approaching faster than ever /: I always knew the fandom ignored Allura, but im only now starting to see how little they appreciate Shiro. I feel like he's not going to be in this season much at all and most people are ok with that. Guess this fandom only cares about using him as shipping fodder

man i know this is salty but… listen. it is SO HARD being a Shiro stan in this fandom. SO HARD. and the run up to S3 has been especially difficult. because not only have we had to deal with the marketing team yanking our chain yet again with the old “oh HO HO will Shiro DiE?!? wHO kNoWs hahahaha!!” bullshit, we’ve also had to sit through the fandom merrily discussing who gets to replace him.

and i get that from a narrative point of view, Shiro’s absence (either temporary or permanent) is a great opportunity for other characters to grow and develop and maybe take on different roles… but at the same time it feels so tasteless to me because my sole focus going into S3 has been: “is Shiro okay? is he coming back? what’s he up to? how/when will he come back to the team? what will be his role when he does?” whereas the focus of a lot of other people seems to be “HERE’S WHY MY PERSONAL FAVE DESERVES THE BLACK LION!!! Shiro whomstve?? I don’t know her ANYWAY ______ FOR BLACK PALADIN UNFOLLOW IF YOU DISAGREE”

and i’m just like… could you… at least pretend to be upset that Shiro is gone?

you’ve caught me in a mood upswing today and i’m feeling a bit more positive about Shiro’s role in the show and the prospect of him swiftly returning - and part of why i think the show won’t do him dirty is because Shiro is actually a GREAT character. he’s GREAT. i don’t get why people don’t appreciate him more??? he’s amazing???? listen:

  • an Asian man (Japanese) who is portrayed as tall and buff and attractive
  • a traumatised character whose trauma is addressed in the show and portrayed in a sensitive light
  • has a canon mental illness, including having flashbacks and panic attacks on screen
  • an amputee
  • STILL gets to go on adventures and fly a magical robot Lion
  • is portrayed not only as an important member of the team, but the LEADER of the team
  • multiple characters in-canon reinforce that he’s their leader and they don’t want to replace him:
    • Keith: “You mean you’ve got your bayard.”
    • Allura: “You are the Black Paladin now, not Zarkon.”
    • Lance: “Shiro’s our awesome leader.”
  • a disabled character who is physical and competent and excels at fighting
  • a traumatised, mentally ill character who:
    • leads a team
    • has fun and enjoys himself
    • supports his friends and is the glue that holds the team together
    • is appreciated, loved, and admired by his team mates
    • is never treated like a liability or a burden on others

Shiro as a character is HUGELY important and he’s great rep for a lot of people - one of the reasons why i attach to him so much is because as a traumatised, mentally ill fan who has panic attacks and anxiety, i rarely get to see good characters like me on screen. but he’s also just flat out an interesting character. he’s a fundamentally good and kind person who is nevertheless capable of great depths of anger and acts of violence. he’s a great leader but he’s also often confused and dorky. he switches between inspiring speeches and making laser gun noises and when he didn’t know how to form Voltron he legit actually in all seriousness built a cheerleader pyramid out of the Lions and he would do anything for his friends and he’s just… so great.

and he’s got that missing year!! we still don’t know what happened to him?!? like what did Haggar do to him?!? we don’t know!! there’s so much left to discover!! does he have family back on Earth? what was he like before his imprisonment? did he fight any other gladiators in the arena?

and his bond with the Black Lion!! it’s amazing!!! he bonded with her so quickly! and fought Zarkon on the astral plane for her!! they’re so close?!? and he could do the nosedive bonding exercise on his first try?!? he’s so great at being a Paladin?!?!?!??

i think it would be quite frankly bizarre for the writers to give Shiro so much complexity and work to actually establish him as an interesting, fleshed-out, multidimensional character… and then sideline him without really digging into his character and exploring his history and seeing what he and the Black Lion can do together. it doesn’t really make sense to spend two seasons building him up as such a complex interesting character… only to bench him and let him sit back in the Castle doing nothing.

tl;dr: i agree with you that a lot of fandom seems to glance right over Shiro as a character and ignore how interesting he is. i think it’s partly because he’s older, so some fans just categorise him as “boring adult authority figure” and leave it at that. and i think that to some fans, he mainly exists as one half of a ship - that’s certainly something i’ve noticed browsing the tags. and honestly part of the reason why i started running the bloofyboy blog is because i wanted to show fandom another side of Shiro: the dorky goofy fun side; the always-confused-and-struggling side; the “i need an adultier adult” side. because Shiro is great and he’s so important and he’s deep and complex and we haven’t even begun to explore everything he can offer to this story and i would really like to see more of him, please and thank you Dreamworks.

I am maybe an ignorant person but ... I don't understand the Jonsa thing so ... I fou have time can you explain this to me .. ? And even if i'm a Jonerys shipper for years i would really like to know the Jonsa chemistery :)

Oh wow…

The thing is I think shipping is kind of subjective to a degree. It doesn’t matter if it’s canon or not because there’ll always be a group who think it shouldn’t be canon and so on and so forth. I don’t know how to explain Jonsa to someone who doesn’t see it (not that I’m blaming you for not seeing it! Some people just don’t and that’s totally okay!) but I will try my best, Anonny.

For me personally, it began in Season 6. I had no prior inclination for Jonsa or even an inkling of the possibility of them. Frankly, I was the most casual of Game of Thrones viewers. It took me nearly a year to actually finish watching Season 5 (but that’s mostly because my ex told me about the Sansa x Ramsay storyline and I hated it so much I refused to watch it). For me, GoT was and has always been a political fantasy drama with lots of boobs and blood. Shipping wasn’t on the cards for me at all (aside from my love for Gendrya). But then Season 6 happened and we finally, finally got a Stark reunion. Only this Stark reunion felt weird.

First of all, Jon and Sansa had so very little interactions (ie. none) prior to this. They were the two most seemingly random Starks to meet. And yet when they hugged, Sansa nuzzled his face. At first, I thought ‘okay, well they lost everyone and this is the first person from their old life they’ve seen’ and even in retrospect I don’t see it as particularly a romantic action on their parts. But it is a weird thing to have the actors do. Even if they were always meant to be platonic, nuzzling is weird for anyone not involved romantically or sexually. I would never ever nuzzle any of my family members or my friends, but then I’m not the best comparison. I don’t like physical affection from anyone I’m not dating so lmao. Still, I was willing to overlook that because it’s Game of Thrones. Maybe they’re just trying to amp up the intensity of the scene. But then you get continued lingering looks from Jon, strange awestruck half-smiles and dim romantic atmosphere. The most bizarre shot for me though was the tent scene. Jon and Sansa had to stop in the middle of their arguing to stare at each other, chests heaving with candlelight in the background. This is Romantic Trope 101. If you had siblings arguing with each other, there’d be more angry yelling, insulting and storming off. You don’t pause to stare at each other as you struggle to catch your breath.

This all contributed to my questioning over what I was seeing. I didn’t immediately think ‘oh yeah this is my ship’. I just thought ‘okay this is weird, right?’ and continued to think that for the rest of Season 6. Honestly, the idea of them as a ship didn’t really cement itself in my head until the very last episode where Jon kissed her forehead, lingered just a bit too long, stared at her lips, walked away and the immediate next shot is the reveal of R+L=J. It was like light bulbs flashing in my head, like ‘oh shit they’re cousins and cousins totally get together and is accepted as a viable marriage prospect!!’ I mean I suspected Jon wasn’t really Ned’s son, but the confirmation right after a Jonsa scene felt so so important. Not even through shipper goggles. It was what made me realise the strange tension between them wasn’t solely in my head and that this probably had a purpose for setting something up.

That’s the Jonsa thing for me. That’s literally how I began to ship them. I don’t know if this answers your question about their chemistry, but these were the moments that highlighted their chemistry to me personally.

The reason why I’ve stayed with this ship for as long as I have, I can list you the reasons below:

To paraphrase from a Tom Cruise film, they complete each other. I know, I know. How utterly cliched of me, but for lack of a better phrase, it’s true. I don’t even mean it in a their souls match and blahblahblah, but I mean that in personalities. Jon is the emotionally-driven, honourable, brave and intelligent military tactician, whose life has been consumed by war and physically fighting for survival. Sansa is the emotionally-guarded, brave, shrewd and pragmatic politician. Her life in contrast has been consumed by the political game and she’s had to mentally fight for survival. Jon knows the North and the dangers beyond; Sansa knows the South and the dangers there. They’re two sides of the same coin and they need each other to survive. Yes, I’d love it if it was romantically, but even taking that away, they still need each other. Together, they make a formidable team. They are Tyrion and Dani but better because there is no power imbalance. They’re equals. Yes, Jon doesn’t quite listen to Sansa sometimes, but him leaving her the North is a testament to his trust and respect for her. This is one of the reasons why I love and adore their interactions so much. You can still see how different they are as individuals but just as clearly, you can see how well they mesh together, and you sit there rooting for them both.

They offer each other something no one else does. S7 Sansa is the most open and honest and confident I’ve ever seen her and that’s all because she trusts Jon. He might disagree, he might argue, but she feels so safe in his presence that she feels comfortable enough to finally speak her mind and demonstrate how intelligent she really is. And for the first time, she can let herself love and hope again. You see that in the soft and affectionate way she regards Jon in any matter, and that is true even in the scowls and exasperation because those emotions are still born out of her love and thus her concern for him. She wants only the best for him and for their home. Ultimately what it comes down to is Jon makes her happy, safe, hopeful and strong. His faith in her is slowly restoring her own faith in herself. That’s all I’ve ever wanted for Sansa. Even if Jonsa isn’t canon, if Sansa continues to get this, I’ll be okay. But I do feel Jonsa as a romantic pairing would be the perfect way to conclude Sansa’s story. She’s been basically sold into two loveless marriages and believes no one will ever marry her for love even though all she ever wanted was a fairy-tail romance. If her story concludes with the valiant knight (Jon) and her falling in love and marrying, it would be the perfect end, and one that isn’t too fairy-tale considering their angst and conflict over being half-siblings-turned-cousins.

As for Jon, I personally believe Sansa’s return gave his second life meaning again. He had been so ready and determined to escape to the south and give up entirely. We don’t know whether he would’ve gone through with it and maybe he wouldn’t, but this was the lowest Jon’s ever been. He was so lost, so disillusioned, and insecure and broken, but then came Sansa and suddenly he had purpose again. Maybe it was simply family obligations, but you can’t say she didn’t inspire him to fight for his home. I don’t think Jon would’ve done it without Sansa. She also challenges him in a way no one else has since Ygritte and Jon needs that. He’s not the perfect hero; he doesn’t know everything. He’s been in the North too long to understand the political game the way Sansa does. She offers him insight into a world he had no prior knowledge in. She also offers him camaraderie, a partner with equal stakes in this war, and a friend who he can come to, someone who loves and respects him and believes in him so wholeheartedly. Yes, he has loyal knights and friends, but no one quite understands his insecurity as a Stark and a rule the way Sansa does. Their interaction in 7x01 showed us this relationship/friendship between them (the way Sansa immediately knew Jon was doubting himself and sought to reassure him earnestly even when he was being rather rude to her because the thing is she knew he needed it more than she needed his validation).

Another reason why I love this ship so much is Jon’s ferocity when it comes to Sansa. You could absolutely read this as platonic and I’m sure many do, but you can’t deny there’s definitely something visceral and primal in the way Jon strives to protect her. I’ve seen Jon kill and get aggressive, but I’ve never seen him lose control so violently than when he was beating the crap out of Ramsay. It was probably a combination of seeing Ramsay kill Rickon in front of him, but definitely also for Sansa. Then you have 7x02 where Jon chokes Littlefinger, who had been needling him and provoking him all throughout that scene, but it was the comment about loving Sansa in a sexual/romantic manner that really got him angry. The fact is there was no immediate thought to that action; it was absolutely a reactionary thing and again a primal one at that. Jon doesn’t even say anything for awhile and I think for a few seconds he really was considering killing Littlefinger. But then it’s like he comes to himself. Angry murderous kitten Jon is my favourite kind of Jon lol.

There are also a lot of Ned x Catelyn parallels that makes it hard to ignore, as well as 7x02′s parallel to Jaime x Brienne’s awkward wave goodbye. These are 2 of the most established ships in the fandom. Paralleling Jonsa with them feels intentional and important.

But honestly, there really are so many reasons why I love this ship and why I believe in them so wholeheartedly. Maybe it is just Kit and Sophie having unbelievable chemistry, but I like to believe otherwise. I hope this sheds some light for you, Anonny.

some kuwei headcanons (not necessarily modern):

- david and genya adopt him the moment he sets foot on ravkan soil, that’s not even a question
- nikolai, the ultimate sexy dad, announces kuwei is his favourite kid and he really is bc he’s an orphan like him and he’s been neglected like him so long story short he shares custody with david and genya
- which doesn’t mean kuwei is spoiled or privileged in ANY way or shape, it just means he’s appreciated and seen
- however, he wants to pursue science and chemistry and all that jazz so nikolai enrolls him into the best school and david is his private tutor and his dad DID create jurda parem so needless to say the kid is a walking prodigy in maths and physics
- in a modern setting, kuwei is comfortable enough to use grindr and stuff and all he ever knows is acceptance and love and he’s never ever shamed for wanting to express his sexuality
- best friends with nadia!!! since she’s a bit of an underdog herself (she’s always been a part of the team but guess what? she’s also always been slept on just like kuwei) and i honestly don’t see her ~click~ with zoya or the other girls at the palace so they could both use a friend
- kuwei is THE HOTTEST thing in ravka
- kuwei juggles two casual boyfriends bc he’s not looking for anything serious and neither are they but then he meets nadia and adrik is there
- one week and three clumsy kisses in the dark later they start dating bc kuwei deserves a soft boy who’d worship the ground he walks on and have heart eyes for him 24/7 and that’s adrik 10000% (i headcanon adrik as yet another bi icon btw)
- alina pops over for tea every once in awhile and she’s like “you remind me of someone”
- (i’m crying, you’re crying, baghra is crying from the other side)
- but then she looks at his eyes and sees they’re gold not silver and she smiles to herself, “nevermind”
- and she LOVES kuwei like she’s fiercely protective of this nice, quiet orphan kid who just wanted an actual home and maybe a new family
- and now he has two bc the dregs still visit him everytime inej has business in ravka with her ship and nina’s there like all the time so!!
- speaking of nina, she probably feeds kuwei waffles bc it’s ~food for the soul~ and she just wants kuwei to finally be happy where he is
- kuwei is quiet, almost shy, (like david) but his ears are always turned in the newest gossip’s direction (like genya)
- he always Knows Things™
- but he’s smart enough to only say them when it would benefit him/his situation, otherwise he’s actually very good at keeping secrets
- that’s actually it, he’s hella smart and it throws people off bc they’re like “hahahaha well he doesn’t even talk that much!!” and then kuwei smiles at them, plots a quick, bloodless revenge in his head and five minutes later they’re being exiled on grounds of discrimination and treachery, bitch you thought™
- DID I SAY HE’S HELLA SMART AND HAPPY AND LOVED bc he is
- even kaz admits he’d like to take him on one of his kruge hunts but nikolai is like brekker pls this is my son we’re talking about
- kuwei in the background: technically, i’m not your-
nikolai: mY SON RIGHT THERE
- idk why but i feel like he’d grow out his hair?? and maybe keep it in a fancy ponytail?? and it’d look so good on him

anonymous asked:

I saw one of your tags say that you're not sure Sam would be ok with Destiel and I'm curious why. Do you think it'd be like the Benny situation again or something else? I didn't ship Denny but I don't think Sam likes when someone else comes before him in Dean's eyes. (I can't see Sam not liking Desitle as a homophobic thing, but ya never know.) Anyway I'm genuinely curious because I could see Sam not exactly like a shipper but ultimately ok with it.

Hi! I have to say, I’m always torn when I hear about people reading my tags, because on the one hand I’m vain and prideful and they’re written to be read, but on the other, tagging is like talking to yourself, so - *blushes slightly*.

Anyway, first things first - before I discovered what a fandom was, I was a total sucker for shipper!Sam. My doubts didn’t begin until after I’d read a shitload of fanfiction about it, and something really rotten in my brain was like, What if Sam wasn’t okay with it, though? because I always like to be contrary and to turn things on their heads and see how they work and if they still work. So I’ve got no real problems with shipper!Sam. It’s just - I sometimes wonder - generally when I’m writing myself - what would be more interesting from a narrative point of view - if it’d be better to have Sam in the background, hanging up mistletoe and leaving The letter of the day is B leaflets around the Bunker or if it’d be easier for Dean to have something to push against. I think a case could be made either way - but if TPTB would have wanted to go down that first road, they probably wouldn’t have killed off Charlie, since she would have been (and she probably was) an even better shipper and wingman than Sam.

That said, I have two arguments against shipper!Sam.

One: Sam is way more messed up than he lets on, and some part of it is terrified not only that Dean will walk away, but that Dean will fall in love with someone and actually pursue that. I know I’ve seen this discussion go down somewhere, but I honestly don’t remember who first came up with this - apologies, guys - the fact that Sam is an all or nothing kind of guy. Like, when he went to Stanford, that was it - he never contacted John, or even Dean, again. For years. And the same happened when he was with Amelia - he just - I don’t know, cut himself off? I’m not sure if it’s his personality, or a by-product of his less than ideal childhood, but Sam’s got trouble to let people into his life, and once they’re in, it’s like there isn’t room for anyone else? Which is a childish trait, of course, and it signals a lack of emotional maturity on his part (not surprising - poor Sammy). And since Sam tends to relate with other people through his own experiences, part of him surely assumes Dean’s exactly the same; that if Dean found himself a new best friend, or a better hunting partner, or even a spouse of some kind, he’d just walk away and that would be it. So in this sense, Sam would feel threatened by any relationship Dean could potentially develop, not only by Cas.

Two, we used to see Sam as the shades of grey brother, but the amazing thing about this show is that Sam and Dean went through a lot of character development resulting in them almost swapping the roles they had in the first seasons - and yet all this feels natural and completely believable. So these days, Dean’s more likely to be the one who gives monsters a pass (hell, look at his relationship with Crowley), while Sam’s become sort of judgemental and what needs must. I think it was Ruby, most of all, who scarred Sam from the inside out and made him so much more conservative, or pragmatic (like, look at him now - he’s more willing than Dean to work with the BMoL, because he’s Mr Head Choice or something). Sam took a huge risk in liking and trusting Ruby, and it all hinged on a sort of anti-racism argument - an I don’t care if she’s a demon, because even demons can be nice and Our biology doesn’t determine our destiny and whatever else. Dean had shut him down about this, of course, but Sam had persisted - and I know there were other elements at play here, but to me, the central point was exactly this: a pigheaded and generous and noble willingness to trust a creature you don’t understand at all and you’ve got no reason to trust. Now, of course things are different with Cas, because Cas has proven, time and again, that Dean’s safety would be his number one priority and all that, but I’m still not convinced Sam would actively want that for Dean. After all, Sam’s seen this other, softer side of Dean’s - he’s seen him around kids (he remembers him from their shared childhood) and he’s heard (a bit) about how happy he was with Robin and whatever, so I sometimes feel Sam still wants the Sookie ending for Dean: a chance to have a true family of his own, and a life Dean could finally lead in full view of everybody, without shame or weirdness or sigils carved on the walls. And I’m not sure this is something Cas would be able to give Dean.

Finally, there’s the whole bisexuality deal. Here, I have to say - I don’t know what to think. I’m sure Sam’s got no problem with queer people, but it’s always slightly different when it’s your family, right? And there are days I think Sam must know - Jesus, they’ve been sharing a room for thirty years - and days when I think that no, that parent/child thing they’ve got going is way too strong for Sam to see the whole picture (to even think about it).

(Like, I know it was supposed to be funny and that I’m reading too much into it, but Sam recoiling when Rowena suggested he undress Dean and check his chest hair or something - to me, that was emblematic of how their relationship works. Dean’s changed Sam’s diapers, has helped him to get dressed for years, surely bathed him and watched him play with that one plastic submarine they’d scavenged somewhere and, years later, he stitched him up and massaged weird herbal salves over his bruises and whatever - but to Sam, of course, it’s weird to think about his brother’s body at all, because that’s the relationship we have with our parents: when you actually have to take care of them that way, it means things have got very bad and very scary.)

In any case, at the very least Sam would be worried about Dean’s safety (and there’s always that heartbreaking thing, right, that if you’re bi and you can be happy with a woman - man, it’d be so much easier) - but one big reason to be optimistic in this sense was this new development we’ve seeing - that openly gay hunters can actually exist in the community without being bothered.

(Then again, judging from the news coming about the US, I sometimes feel Dean and Cas could have their college AU life only in a big city, and not in one of those wild, road off to the horizon states where Dean feels most at home. So, well - I really don’t know.)

Anyway - we know so little about Sam, it’s likely that anything could work concerning his approach to the Destiel situation. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

anonymous asked:

Why do you ship Romione? Personally I'm not a fan of the ship, because I feel as if the relationship didn't make sense in the first place. Though also because Ron, to me, does not understand Hermione enough to be a competent partner in terms of her emotional needs and wants. It's just two very contradicting personalities to me, and I'm honestly curious to see what you have to say about it. I'm not against Hermione being in a relationship, but I don't see it with any of JK's characters atm.

I ship Romione because, in the books, they compliment each other. Yeah they bicker and argue but, ultimately, they care so much about each other and have been best friends for so long, they’ve been through so much together. Their crushes on each other are so painfully obvious pretty much through the whole series but they’re so stubborn and proud about it that it causes fights, but, ultimately, they never let anything get in the way of their friendship. They always come back to each other, they always look out for each other.

Ron stands up for Hermione against Malfoy, against Snape, he even offers to sacrifice himself to save her when Bellatrix attacks her. In the battle of Hogwarts, when they finally kiss, it’s because he’s fighting for his life and yet he still thinks of the house elves, because he knows how important they are to Hermione, which means they’re important to him, too.

Hermione overthinks things and can easily get lost in her own head, and Ron helps balance her out. Likewise, he doubts himself and his own abilities a lot, but as their friendship develops Hermione helps him build confidence.

When they were younger, I definitely don’t think they were ready for a romantic relationship of equal emotional standing, but by Deathly Hallows, I think they’re 100% on the same page regarding how to meet each other’s emotional needs.

You have such a wonderful deep grasp of characters so I was hoping u'd help. I'm having a hard time connecting with Chloe. It is not because I don't like her I do, she reminds me a bit of Emma Swan or Kate Beckett two of my favs. With Lucifer we get inside his head, delve into his issues and idiosyncrasies where Chloe is mostly the job I really need them to give me more of and for her so I can connect. How do u see her? Do u hope we get more? Would u analyze her for me so maybe I can see more?

Sure.

My thing with Chloe is that I also want to see more of her backstory/her outside the job at times, such as the hinted-at rebellion during her Hot Tub High School days (why did she leave acting? Just because of her dad dying? Was there more of it? TELL ME!) and so forth. But I also feel like the show has acknowledged that at this point, her job (and Trixie) basically are her life, and she’s been prodded to open up and to make some friends (including Maze, who she probably never thought would be one…) and to work out some of her issues. I think that will also change as she and Lucifer continue to become more than just work partners. And what I, and everyone, really need is for her to be fully clued in on the supernatural stuff, so the two of them can face that together like the badass power couple they are, rather than Lucifer just winging it (literally) and making dumb, if well-intentioned, decisions without ever talking to her about them. But that is just showing how much story there is to tell and how much character development there is to undergo. But with these hints about their relationship being a major focus of s3 and continuing to be explored and expanded, I am hopeful for that coming.

Honestly, one of the things I love most about Chloe is exactly her sometimes dry manner and her emotional restraint and her ability to both be incredibly patient with Lucifer and call him out on his BS. I love that she has the Devil wrapped around her little finger, and that since he is the constant five-year-old in the relationship, and the colorful/eccentric character, he needs someone who can handle that about him. Chloe is exactly what he needs precisely because she’s one of the few people who does NOT melt around him, makes him work for what he gets, and yet has enough affection and patience with him to genuinely give him what he has gotten from very few, if no, people before her. We’ve seen her be dorky and giggly and (very poorly) flirty when she was trying to make a move on him, we’ve seen her give him far more leash than he sometimes deserves, and moments of vulnerability, such as in 2x05 when she admits she’s scared to die and talks the guy down from shooting her by herself. In some ways she is the basic model of the “tough female straight shooter paired with quirky male free spirit,” yes, but she’s not a Strong Female Character who’s never allowed to have emotions. She’s just more subtle with them (…. sometimes. Aka, if you are a woman and you are near Chloe Decker’s man, she will give you absolute, unsubtle stink eye until you step off).

Obviously, Lucifer is the protagonist and a lot of the plot is centered around him and things that Chloe doesn’t (yet) know about, so there is a limit to what she can be involved in outside the procedural element. I think that will change when she finally learns the truth, and can hopefully help continue to deepen their relationship and what she can do with him. But yeah, I like that she is able to handle Lucifer in a way most people can’t (and that they are made for each other, even if he currently sees it as a trick from Dad, welp) and that she can be both loving and tough with him. It’s easy to forget the sheer amount of stuff he does not know, and the way Chloe can show him what a healthy parent/child relationship looks like, how a healthy person acts, what a normal relationship looks like, and so forth.

One thing I super love, though, is that Chloe is NOT charged with fixing Lucifer. She is not expected to be his doctor or his nurse or to hold his hand. She wants him to talk to her more, because she cares about him, but the person whose job it is to fix Lucifer, or at least provide him what clarity she can, is Lucifer’s paid mental health professional who is likewise far too good for this shit. I love that Chloe and Dr. Linda are separate characters, and that Chloe has zero obligation at all to alter Lucifer’s behavior or to be responsible for his actions. She doesn’t actively teach him to be human; he learns it from watching her. And slowly gets better by being around her, and has always loved her selflessly and clumsily and incredibly, from day one.

So yes. I love that Chloe is Chloe, that she is kind but tough, that she is patient but can crack the whip, that she doesn’t put up with Lucifer’s often copious BS and makes him genuinely earn what he gets from her, but is never cruel to him, and is often far more forgiving than many of us would be. As he says, she is truly good, and since everyone knows what a sucker I am for heroine/antihero ships, I really enjoy that about her. We can tell that she loves him a lot, but has just come off a divorce and when she really tried to start something with Lucifer, he (with the best of intentions, but still) fucked it up and ran away, because there’s still a lot of their journey left, and development to be had. It’s no surprise that they left off in a tentative place as a result, and that their relationship does have to come to the forefront. And yes. I want season 3. And beyond. Because I am greedy. And want them all.

Can you please continue the Goodbye Master story, but please, can we have a happy ending, canon is already depressing enough. Qui-Gon obviously had feelings for Obi-Wan and I think often times it's human nature to misunderstand that people love us, even if we don't see it. Anyways, thanks for always sharing your stories with us, they sometimes are the only thing that get me through a tough day.

“I’m back.” Qui-Gon murmured, closing the door behind him with a soft click. “You won’t believe how many cross trips me and Anakin had to take to get home. Honestly, I am a master of the Living Force but even I can only handle cattle cargo ships for so long.” The long haired master shook his head and settled on the medical bed. “Looking dashing as always Obi-Wan.” He whispered, feeling his heart twinge at the others pale and still face.

Four years and Obi-Wan was still comatose though he was breathing on his own so there was some improvement at least.

“I see the droids haven’t gotten around to shaving you yet.” Qui-Gon let his fingertips brush the others two cm long beard before brushing the others hair. “Or wash your hair.” He smiled meekly. “That’s alright, I’ll do it since I’m here.” He stroked the greasy hair lightly.

Getting up, he got the water bowl and shampoos, talking about the mission.

Normally the droids were on top of taking care of Obi-Wan but…

Well Qui-Gon liked taking care of the other too after it was clear that he wasn’t going to wake up anytime soon.

From helping with the muscle stimuli to helping transporting Obi-Wan to the bacta tank and to simple things like washing and shaving the other.

It made Qui-Gon feel…useful.

Well when he wasn’t too busy with Anakin.

“Anakin asked me about your room a week ago actually.” He murmured as he returned with the lukewarm water and settled the towel tarp under Obi-Wan’s head so not to soak the bed. “Or I mean… his room. Its still odd to refer to it as Anakin’s room.” He sighed quietly.

Mulling a bit, he started to carefully washing the others hair.

“He was wondering if I removed everything from the room or if anything in it was yours when he took it.” Qui-Gon elaborated, catching his thoughts again. “I told him that the bed, desk and dresser were standard fare and were there when you were there too but that everything else had been tucked away in a storage for when you wake.”

He rubbed carefully, making sure not to pull on the hair.

Perhaps Obi-Wan couldn’t feel it, perhaps he would never wake up but Qui-Gon liked to tell himself that if Obi-Wan woke, he’d appreciate the stimuli.

“…You know, I remember when you were fourteen and you’d curl against me, hopeful that I’d rub your scalp.” The older master murmured. “You never asked for it outright but… you wanted that positive attention.” He chuckled quietly.

Obi-Wan didn’t respond, only continued to breath softly as Qui-Gon washed his hair.

“You continued with it until you were sixteen.” He started to rinse the sudsy water darkened copper hair. “I think that’s around the time you developed your crush on me.” Qui-Gon hummed. “You were so embarrassed.”

He took care of the others hair and wrapped it in a soft towel before moving on to the stubble on the others face, gently shaving the gaunt cheeks.

Force it still felt like a physical blow to his stomach how gaunt Obi-Wan was getting.

Despite the muscle stimuli, fat was draining away from the others body and there was almost none left by now. Qui-Gon feared that eventually, despite the best of care offered, Obi-Wan would go into the Force.

Setting the sonic shaver aside, Qui-Gon stared at the others pale skin, stroking the mole beneath his eye gently.

“…Please wake up Obi-Wan. I need to make this right. You mattered so much to me.” He whispered before leaning in and pressing his lips to the others forehead. “Please Obi-Wan.”

Settling one large hand on a slender shoulder, Qui-Gon set his forehead against Obi-Wan, reaching out into the Force and towards the redhead as he had since he landed in coma, trying to find the other man to draw him back.

Obi-Wan…wake up please.’ He rubbed the shoulder gently through the thin medical gown.

“Master?” Qui-Gon lifted his head and looked to the door, giving the blond a small, assuring smile as Anakin shifted akwardly by the door. “I didn’t mean to disturb but its dinner time and Master Windu was asking for you.” He glanced at Obi-Wan, his eyes sparkling sadly before looking back at Qui-Gon.

“I see. Alright then.” Qui-Gon looked back down at the still comatose man and sighed. “…Yes, its dinner time. Lets go eat and then I’ll see what Mace wants.” He stroked Obi-Wan’s clean cheek before getting up, moving to his padawan’s side and ruffling his hair gently. “Come along then Anakin.”

The two left the room, leaving the sleeping man to the solitude.

Unseen by anyone else, Obi-Wan’s fingers gave a little twitch.

pxiao  asked:

Top five Fruitshipping moments. Cause I want to see a good show don't tell relationship and we have plenty of moments to fill a large variety of these lists.

Oh god just 5??? Okay I got this be still my heart

5. Episode 2, Yuzu and Yuya’s action duel

Okay I know this is pretty early in the series and it can be seen as platonic, but you get so much character from this scene and grounds of a solid friendship between them. Like:

Yuzu’s getting shit because she was rude to Yuya like some of the fandom does to her lol but instead she just goes with it.

Like at this point of the story we now know both Yuya and Yuzu are entertainers, and now we get to see them doing what they love together and how they work off each other.

Not to mention this scene is funny as hell. Like wow it’s just showing us two cuties performing together (granted it’s not perfect because Yuya’s in funk atm) and I already fell for their dynamic at this point and its only ep 2.

ALSO they fucking used Plain Plain (where this duel took place) in episode 141 to rip my god damn heart out and to show this duel had meaning and we should realize that we’re missing Yuzu.

4. Yuya is PISSED/cry baby (eps 50 + 51)

At this point in the show we’ve gotten a good basis on their relationship. Yuya and Yuzu are childhood friends with the same goal and they inspire each other to become stronger. Pretty standard and honestly nothing new.

And then they get separated.

Like I did NOT expected them to act the way they did when this happened (at least Yuya because when has a main protag ever cared that much for the female protag minus Anzu from season 0)

I am 98% sure that this is the first time Yuya has cried openly to people without his goggles AND ITS CAUSE OF YUZU. This boy has hidden his emotions about his dad, his bullying, and pendulum summoning but Yuzu’s apparent capture is what got Yuya to finally show his sadness and not cover them with jokes and his goggles.

Yuya as we know, when he’s not berserker, is a pacifist but he’s going out of character because he’s so mentally distraught and sad. Like the only person I would get like that for is my twin so to me this speaks volumes since Yuya values Yuzu’s well being over his own values.

And then in Yugioh it’s a known thing that the female protags most times stay on the side line and cheer on the main protag AND THEYRE ACTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGING IT AND IT’S SUPER IMPORTANT TO YUYA. Like apparently Yuma’s says something similar to Kotori near the end of Zexal but I’m not there yet but like this is ep 50 compared to 140-something.

Looking back this is super important. Like when Zarc got revived he stated he was surprised/thrilled that there was more to Pendulum Summoning than he first thought (combining all the three methods w/ it) and the reason Yuya was able to do it was because of Yuzu. He was able to go beyond Zarc’s expectations and plans BECAUSE OF YUZU.

God when has a main protag screamed out a female protags name like that before in yugioh???

Yuzu is also a cry baby three episodes down the line.

3. Yuzu saves Yuya from Zarc

It speaks volumes when nearly all your friends (including your bff THE MAN Gonzengaka) can’t save from Satan, but the moment you say one sentence to you, you regain some control.

Like god, I love their relationship. Zarc and Ray are literally trying to destroy the other but these two can break through their previous lives soul’s to communicate with one another cause of how god damn much they mean to each other.

Listen if you go across DIMENSIONS to get save someone in Yugioh YOU KNOW your ship is real (Spiritshipping and Keyshipping being the other prime examples). But like in my fruitshipping video (which ya’ll should watch) this moment is when I used the lyrics ‘no distance can ever keep us apart’ because WOW dimensions AND demonic/angelic possessions isn’t enough sever the bond between these two.

Also my otp tag.

2. Yuya summons Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon

Lowkey this moment is up so high because Yuya’s just fucking amazing in this scene. Like Zarc’s influence is getting stronger but like LIST OF THINGS THAT HAVE CAUSED YUYA SO GO BERSERKER

-Ep 39 with Zarc’s trigger words and Yuya didn’t even remember it

-Yuto’s memories of being attacked the Academia

-Being electrocuted in the god damn brain

-Being in the same area as all four boys that causes a hole to open in the sky

-Creepy old guys touching Yuzu

Like one of these things is not like the other lol

Seriously though, the others are near close to psychological torture and PTSD but someone touching Yuzu inappropriately invokes the same amount of rage from Yuya. THATS A HUGE ASS COMPARISON. Also the scene was gorgeous god damn.

1. Yuzu inspires Yuya during Friendship Cup

Okay this moment…THIS is when Fruitshipping went from a casual ship to god damn otp for me.

So for the past couple eps, Yuya has been feeling like shit (ground facility, losing Jack, missing Yuzu), of course Yuzu doesn’t know some of bad shit that’s going on, but goddamit the citrus is going to show the tomato that she’s okay.

Like dueling for other people is nothing new to yugioh but holy SHIT

Of course Yuzu doesn’t know the cost of losing, but all she wants to do is make Yuya feel at ease (which the poor boy hasn’t felt in so long fuck)

Yuzu hasn’t spoken to Yuya this entire arc but she knows how he’s feeling right now. She knows Yuya. This just furthers the belief that they’ve known each other for so god damn long and are ‘irreplaceable’ to one another.

Look at how goddamn surprised he is. Like instead of worrying about herself, she’s worried about him?? Granted this might have to do with Yuya’s self worth issues And as the duel goes on, it’s not just her feelings she trying to convey to Yuya (hot-blooded and shivers). Instead of ‘oh look it’s your love-interest’s feelings’ she shows that everyone from back in Standard are also with Yuya.

ALSO THEY PLAYED YUYA’S THEME DURING THIS GOD. EVEN THE OST’S ARE SHOWING US THEIR RELATIONSHIP.

LOOK AT HOW GOD DAMN HAPPY HE IS. LIKE WHEN HAS THIS BOY EVER CRIED FROM JOY SO FAR IN THIS SHOW. THIS IS DEVELOPMENT THAT HE SHOULDN’T HIDE HIS EMOTIONS AND SHOULD EMBRACE THEM AHH.

Just…fuck me.

Hello I love your art and love the new kiribaku kids. I did research on mako sharks and it said "The shortfin mako is on record as the fastest-swimming shark, capable of bursts of speed up to 18.8 metres per second (42 mph)." Its jaw is powerful enough to eat swordfish and sea turtles. And "Like other lamnid sharks, the shortfin mako shark has a heat-exchange circulatory system that allows the shark to be 7-10 °F warmer than the surrounding water. ". So I think mako would be an excellent hero

Never said she won’t be! As I’ve already explained tho the concept is that she’s young and most of he quirk-related abilities just haven’t developed yet - if she’d been living with her biological parents (which means, other people with a shark quirk) they would have already known what to expect from the quirk/she would have knows watching them, but as things stand she’s being raised by two people who’ve never known anyone else with that quirk, so they’re going at it completely blind. As far as Bakugou and Kirishima know her quirk’s abilities could stop at what she has now, but that doesn’t change that they’ll do their best to help her become the best hero of her generation, if that’s what she wants

Anon said: I can’t believe the KiriBaku kids are literally Sharkgirl and Lavaboy, it’s very cute. I also wanna say that Mako looks very much like one of the student from Ketsubutsu Academy, Nakagame Tatami, who has a “turtle quirk”. Could it be that Mako is Tatami’s biological kid and that when Tatami died (presumably from battle) Mako got adopted? Their quirks are a little similar (water-animal based), and hero’s kids usually have very strong quirks even from a young age. Just a theory, love the kids tho!

I know you didn’t mean anything bad by this and I love how into them you are (thank you for liking them!) but please never, ever tell an artist that their OCs are literally some other characters, that’s the worst thing any creator can ever be told. Like, while I don’t exactly mind it since I knew this would happen even before posting them (as I said, I do know they remind of them - even though Tai’s quirk isn’t only about heating things up - and I’m still of the opinion that Kiri and Baku are pretty damn similar to Sharkboy and Lavagirl themselves so kids inspired by them were bound to remind of them, when coming from me) you might in the future find someone who’ll take it bad enough that they’ll just trash the characters and never work with them ever again, which I’m sure you don’t want

Just, mind your words next time you send this sort of asks, okay?

Better things to do

Plot:

  • Basically everyone graduated Garrison
  • Shiro and Keith are on a mission in space
  • They are also married to each other
  • Lance is now a teacher at Garrison and loves both of them

Lance sighed, he was tired but he couldn’t go to sleep yet since he had to finish grading for one of his class’s quizzes. He leaned back in his chair, stretching out his arms and back as far as he can.

Just three more to go and you can go to sleep Lance.’ He tried to motivate himself to stay awake, he grabbed his pen once again and marked the incorrect responses. As he put the final grade, he noticed the student forgot to put their name on it. He contemplated if he should take points off of it or not.

Before he could decide he heard his laptop ringing alerting him that he had an incoming video call. All the tiredness and irritation he was feeling before was gone, he sat right up with a smile. It was Keith and Shiro. They were currently in space on a mission just to go on a exploration of a planet that Galaxy Garrison had discovered ten years ago.

Hey Bonney, how are you? I just wanted your thoughts on the last chapter, i didn't really love it to be honest. I feel like nothing got really 'confirmed' and like really canon, i mean we don't even know if Gruvia and GaLe is dating, Nalu isn't even dating. I expected more like a 10 years later married and all kinda thing and i also expected more of Gray's answer. I was a bit dissapointed, so what do you think?

As I explained in [this], I thought the ending was something else entirely and that made me feel good with the real end – better than the alternative I thought! I wasn’t going to say anything more about it because my opinions sometimes aren’t that well received but hey, I was asked so I’m gonna break down the finale with my opinions.

You see, when we look at it with no shipping goggles at all, it was actually a very nice ending for the story.

Fairy Tail always were about strong friendship bonds, about how the family you choose to have can be just as wonderful and fulfilling as the one you were born into.

We saw that with the finale. We saw the bonds, we saw 545 chapters of friendship bonds in one.

That was all Fairy Tail. That part was beautiful.

And then we put the shipping goggles on and things aren’t as good.

You see, to Gajevy shippers it was amazing. Babies on the way, yay! I’m happy for them (and a little jealous 😁).

Gruvians, though, we got it better than some other couples but not as good as Gajevy in my opinion.

Sure, we got a couple of pages, but with just a few panels, Gajevy established a relationship: apparently Levy was pregnant so we are safe to assume they have been together for a while. Gray and Juvia are a bit hazier on that.

By the way they acted around each other, I think they hadn’t been in a relationship yet or if they are, it’s recent, which is weird, honestly, since it’s been a year since the war and Gray promised Juvia he would give her an answer when the war was over and then later on he promised to take her feelings more seriously. Unless his answer was “maybe” after the war, this was a bit off.

Gray showed to be even more possessive than when Lyon started to flirt with Juvia and jealous men were looking at her, so he sees her as his even more than before. Okay, I can see that improvement.

I can also see his worries about Juvia’s scar: it’s a constant reminder of when he thought she had died and the world fell around him. Alright, that part was okay.

What it hurt to see was how little things changed in one year. If the chapter had happened a month after the war it would’ve made sense and would’ve been great, but a year and they’re like that still? I know they are a particular couple, Gray is all troubled and talking about how she is his is a big step (I know Gray is no bard, but the thing about her body being his made me laugh. LOL Come on, dude. But it’s Gray and he’s an awkward fella so he gets a pass and Juvia seemed to be happy with it.😂) but things are still on the “maybe in a relationship” side.

As far as I’ve always seen, they had been in a relationship for a loooooong time but without the touches and kisses and with Gray still on the fence, but in a relationship.

Gruvia was always about being insanely open and yet everything kinda hidden away, you know? We’d see how freaking obvious they were and then things got hushed.

I think what I really didn’t like was the uncertainty. They could be together for the past year, they could start dating that moment. Is it really canon? It’s going to be soon? I mean, we know it will be, we’ve known for like 400 chapters so this was really light to calm our hearts.

It could be an interpretation thing, could be a translation thing but the truth is some people will think they are together, others that they will be.

Uncertainty, see?

Like you, I wanted the “standard” ending: ten, fifteen years time skip, established couples with a bunch of kids running around so we could hate their names for like, a day or two and then start to like it and then no other name would do, different clothes, hairstyles, couples saying things like “honey” or “darling”.

It was refreshing to see Fairy Tail going in a different way when we look at the plot in a whole, no ships involved. Like I said earlier, ship wise even though we had ‘some’ confirmation, was still lacking.

At least we got more than NaLu shippers :/ It was very light but it seems Lucy is a bit in love with Natsu, but he’s still clueless. Well, he is Natsu.

In the end, we know where Gruvia is headed: being together forever. So, either open for interpretation or not, we are canon and that’s what matters.

Slow Dancing

So I know I was supposed to tag a WHOLE bunch of people when I finally posted this…but I made the original post SO long ago that it’s just depressing going back to figure out who all I need to tag. So…if was supposed to give you a tag, feel free to yell at me. Oh and it’s on ff.net if you prefer that platform.

Anyways. No spoilers. I didn’t even add in the details I knew, just kept it as vague as I wrote it originally.

Word count: 900 or so

Emma cut quite the figure, dancing with her lad, the white ballgown in stark contrast to his black tux. Soft music played as Henry led his mother—a bit stiffly, but with sure feet—across the dance floor. She said something too low to hear and he laughed, some of the tension in his shoulder easing.

Her smile was infectious, and though Killian was always quite certain he could not get any happier, every time he caught sight of that grin his joy grew. His heart fought to burst from his chest just watching them. His family.

Posting random characters who may or may not have autism helps no one. It's a misrepresentation of the disorder, it gives people false hope that one of these character will be relatable for them, and it's disrespectful to the authors whose creations you are judging and changing. You wouldn't start something like this about celebrities– don't our fiction friends deserve the same respect?

I was debating on whether or not to even deign to answer this ask but I decided that I’m in a fairly good mood rather than an apathetic one so I hope you enjoy!

There will be no TL;DR because if you’re going to send asks like this, then you are going to READ.

“Posting random characters who may or may not have autism helps no one.” To assume this, you think that I’M solely the one posting them? Lemme tell you that there are over 70 characters currently in my ask box that I haven’t had the spoons to get to. Here’s a screenshot:

I don’t post these. Autistic people do. I just queue them. I’m merely the proxy for these people.

I have well over 1000 followers by now, almost all of which are autistic or suspecting they are. So to say that it doesn’t help anyone is false. It helps the people of the autistic community - and at times it even helps the people of the allistic (non-autistic) community.

I’ve gotten asks from allistics who follow saying that they love this blog because it helps fight their internalized ableism. I’ve also gotten asks from autistic people saying how much they love it because they love characters to relate to. It’s not a matter of “false hope” and wishing a character is autistic, but it’s more or less wanting to find characters in media to relate to. Those bold things are links btw please read them if you really don’t believe that it doesn’t help people.

Along with that, blogs like this do help because it gives people a chance to be able to show off their headcanons in a safe and anonymous way without the fear of getting death threats. Do you know how many autistic people get death threats for merely existing let alone showing their headcanons regarding autism? Tons. I know I get death threats on my main all the time for merely being autistic.

And yet, allistic people love when people throw gender and sexuality headcanons onto characters (especially to either ship or to fetishize - two different things I want to make that clear). So why can’t we autistic people do it for something that’s completely harmless and just for wanting to relate to characters?

So yeah it does help us. It helps both autistic and allistic (non-autistic) people.

“It’s a misrepresentation of the disorder,” no it isn’t. Trust me my buddy it isn’t. It isn’t misrepresentation of the disorder at all when you have autistic people submitting these characters that they (AS AUTISTIC PEOPLE) relate to. Sometimes they even give full detailed paragraphs of explanations as to why the character can possibly be autistic.

It’s not misrepresentation for a minority to want to represent their respective group.

It WOULD, however, be misrepresentation if I and everyone submitting these characters were not autistic. However, 99% of my followers are autistic so yeah sorry but it’s not “misrepresentation” for minorities to want to represent their own fucking group. Anyways, moving on…

“…it gives people false hope that one of these character will be relatable for them,” so you’re saying that we can’t even hope? You’re saying that autistic people can’t even fucking dream that we get canon autistic characters (of which barely exist)?

You’re literally saying that autistic people can’t even have hope.

YOU ARE LITERALLY SAYING THAT AUTISTIC PEOPLE CANT EVEN HAVE HOPE.

And y’know if you read the links I put in earlier about autistic people (and allistic people) finding blogs like this very nice to be able to relate to characters then hm well you’re wrong. Again. But assuming you aren’t going to read them and just skip over this like some prick, allow me to quote an ask I got not too long ago.

“…I’m a pretty new diagnosis, and honestly, I adore this blog, being able to see people who might be like me, and especially finding characters I relate to that people HC as autistic, it’s really really validating. So thank you.”

So hmm I guess you’re just wrong there. You see, yes that is just one ask, but there’s a reason why so many autistic people submit and follow this blog. It’s so they can relate to characters.

It’s so they can have hope.

Of which you apparently don’t even want autistic people to have.

So thank you for saying that we can’t even hope for a better future.

“And it’s disrespectful to the authors whose creations you are judging and changing,” LIKE PEOPLE DON’T ALREADY TAKE CANON CISHET CHARACTERS AND HEADCANON THEM AS LGBT+ FOR “SHIPS” AND SHIT.

So you’re telling me that someone can take a canon cishet character and then proceed to draw them as a part of the LGBT+ community for shipping, but then if we autistic people seek actual relation to a character by a harmless headcanon, that it’s suddenly bad? Despite the fact that shippers do the exact same thing? Just a bit differently?

Which, I’m all for shippers and people headcanoning or drawing/writing canon cishet characters as LGBT+ for Teh Ships™ or to feel represented (assuming they themselves as shippers are LGBT+).

But the main point is that you’re contradicting your own rhetoric and beliefs without even having to mention the other half of the argument. You’re nothing but an ableist hypocrite.

And finally… the part that REALLY got me in all of this. The part that made me literally sit back and wonder if you were a troll or not.

“You wouldn’t start something like this about celebrities– don’t our fiction friends deserve the same respect?”

Celebrities are literally real people.

Fictional characters are FICTIONAL. They’re not real in the slightest.

And if you’re fictionkin or a fictive or whatever, then it still doesn’t count because these are fictional characters from THEIR respective media. No one is saying that YOU (as that character assuming you’re fictionkin or a fictive) are autistic lmao.

Anon, if you’re fictionkin or a fictive, then maybe stop thinking things are all about you for once? And consider that maybe another fictive or fictionkin of that character is autistic.

For the BROTP/OTP/NOTP thing, Tododeku (like we don't know the answer already lololol I just love listening to you talk about how much you adore them), Kirideku, Erasermic, Kiribaku?

Tododeku: OTP! OTP! OTP! This is my truest of true pairings, and tbh it’s one of maybe two ships in the fandom that I’m fully 100% behind. But I’m also pretty wild about it as a BroTP. it’s also one of those few pairings where I honestly don’t care what the nature of their relationship is–platonic, romantic, familial, whatever–as long as they’re together. Their bond is really important to me.

Kirideku: Honestly, this ship didn’t even occur to me until I did this ask meme prompt. Answering those questions made me realize that they’re actually pretty compatible, I mean wow. It’s still best as a BroTP but I’m def open to romantic shipping too.

Erasermic: This is my other OTP in the fandom. I used to be sort of neither here nor there about it but then I read all of the fics by this person and I’ve fallen into this ship and I can’t get up.

Kiribaku: I guess it’s an OTP. I can’t really get as passionate about it as I do with Tododeku or Erasermic because I still don’t like Bakugou yet. But I do enjoy their relationship, and it’s definitely one that can work better than my main NoTP of the fandom since there’s mutual respect and balance, they understand each other, and Kirishima is a pretty substantial driving force behind Bakugou’s development into a decent person.

anonymous asked:

Hey there :) I'm sorry that you're angry and upset but where exactly is CC queerbaiting? They never advertised it as "Scorbus" (don't know how I can express this) if I recall correctly or what exactly are you upset about?

Oh anon, Oh, I’m glad you asked.
Queerbaiting: the perceived attempt by canon creators to woo queer fans but with no intention of actually showing a gay relationship.
Still, it’s more heteronormativity than queerbaiting that frustrated me, I will admit.
To begin with, I’ll have you know, I’d never even given Scorbus a thought before I read CC (a small lie, I’d heard of it, just didn’t like the idea). Hell, I loved the idea of Scorose. And then, I read the book.
So, no, I’m not being partial, not favoring queer relationships. I even tried to not ship it, you know, because I love drarry which makes shipping their sons a bit strange to say the least.
I would have been happy enough with Scorose, it had OTP potential for me. But either J.K. / Jack Throne do not know how to portray romantic relationships –-or the billions of fans that read/watched CC have the wrong perception of reality. You know which it is? Neither. Because the love – love that exceeds the friendship criteria – between Albus and Scorpius is clear as day to the most oblivious of people.
Anon, this is not to say that they don’t share the most profound friendship – that is undeniable; they share the same mutual affection and adoration like that of the marauders, and that is the greatest praise any friendship can receive. They are best friends before they are lovers, but they are lovers all the same.
If Scorpius had identified with the female gender, everyone – everyone would have been certain they’d end up together – as I believe someone has already mentioned earlier. But why didn’t they end up together, despite the fact that each of their interactions holds romantic connotations? Because they’re both guys, duh. Figures. Haha, they got us yet again. Surprisingly enough.
Yes, they didn’t advertise the book with “Scorbus”, so to speak – of course they didn’t. They’d lose their audience if they did that! (do note the sarcasm) But they queerbaited fans who had already started reading the book or watching the play into thinking that there was a possibility of a queer relationship between two leading characters and perhaps – perhaps, at long last, it didn’t matter enough to be publicized, or rather, for the audience to be “warned” about - that two boys falling in love wasn’t abnormal or anything out of the ordinary. Ha, I wonder when it will be logical enough for us to think like that. By the pace at which we’re going, not anytime soon.
I do not want to be one of those people who replies rudely to someone who was just curious, but the fact that the question you asked had to be asked is proof enough of how unseen the lgbtq+ community is in mainstream, popular media. So unseen that people don’t realize when people of seemingly the same sex fall in love – or, you know, stay in love – right before them.
See, personally, I’m not someone who speaks out about these things often, or even really pays heed to them. But I feel like this was the last straw, this time people had crossed the line.
Rose and Scorpius have next to no chemistry, and let’s be real, their relationship existed only to reiterate the fact that Scorpius was into girls. (As if) for fuck’s sake, Scorpius gave up a kingdom to just have Albus with him, and Scorpius was Albus’s ‘weakness’, in Delphi’s indirect words, and ‘all that he needed’, in his own. I’m not even going to get into all that ridiculous and heteronormative Albus-has-a-crush-on-Delphi thing because honestly, it doesn’t deserve my time. And my time isn’t even that precious.
There was so much build-up, so much – plainness of romantic feelings, that I doubt even homophobes would have been surprised if there had been, after all, a long due Scorbus kiss. I realize that this wouldn’t have gone down well with some more – uh, conventional people, but I am 100% sure that no one would have been surprised. Well, for any other reason than an actual gay couple existing. On the big, not especially “gay-themed” screen.
Also, this is hardly the first time J.k. has done something like this. I know she’s seen as this great, wonderful celebrity who is a prominent lgbtq+ ally, but really, I just don’t see it. She’s all talk, all offense. She has never once taken any opportunity – and she’s had quite a few – to maybe add even negligible lgbtq+ representation to her writing. There was that time with Remus Lupin and Sirius Black, where, when people started catching on, she KILLED one of them off and got the other married off to some random young chick who had had no chemistry with him whatsoever in the past because, you guessed it, everyone is heterosexual and don’t anyone dare get the wrong idea and stop reading her damn books. Oh, and that time with Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas when she’d totally intended for them to fall in love but alas, it would take too much fucking “attention away from the plot”. And that other time with Draco and Harry, or Luna and Ginny, or Teddy and James, or ANYONE who had more chemistry with someone from the same gender than with whoever the fuck they actually heterosexually ended up with. Even Grindelwald and fucking Dumbledore.
If it still doesn’t make sense, try thinking of everything Albus and Scorpius did with and said to each other as if they were saying it to or doing it with someone from the other gender. See it? Looks like a bunch of cliché, heterosexual romantic novel tropes, doesn’t it? So there you have it – I could go on, but my time isn’t that not-precious. And do forgive me, anon, I’m aware you were just asking. This rant wasn’t intended for you. I’m just angry. Sorry.

i'd love to hear ur analysis of romsemary's flaws tbh, if ur willing

well, my friend @shut-in-princess summed it up pretty well in reply to the original ask:

Of course the VrisKan part is probably just mine and her’s subjective preference.  I’m also gonna have to put this under a read more because it got way wordier than I was expecting.

Idk if u still doing top 5 but top 5 bros4lyfe? (aka friendships?)

Hi anon bean, of course I’m still doing it! Let’s go with the brotps, but before I have to specify that I know a lot of people ship most of the couples present here and ??? fine ??? I guess ??? This is just my opinion I hope no one will be offended :)

1. Bokuto and Kuroo. Prepare for trouble and make it double, who else could have been in first place, honestly? Even if I’m still mad a Kuroo for that thing he did during Fukurodani vs. Nekoma in the manga, I have to admit that they are in love as much as they are annoyed with each other, which is A LOT. The real question is: was it really necessary to put two of the hottest characters in Haikyuu in such a power friendship relationship? The answer is probably yes and thank you @Furudate we owe you a lot

2. Noya and Tanaka. There are so many iconic brotp moments with these two that they probably deserve their own top 5. They are so extra and dramatic about literally everything, but yet on court are two of the most reliable people on the team. I love them, I love them, I  L O V E them.

3. Hinata and Kenma, aka the purest thing ever happened in the whole Haikyuu history, literally nothing could ever surpass them they are like fresh water poured from the highest mountain, two white roses just blossomed, a baby kitty and a chick crow…they make each other so happy I mean Kenma is really excited to see him can you believe *wipes tear away* excited…I can’t

4. Ushijima and Tendou. Two of the most misled and mistreated characters of the whole story both found love and comfort in a hopeless place. I love how Tendou treats Ushi just like a normal person, he’s not afraid of him and overall he’s his #1 supporter, and the same thing goes the other way around. Ushi sees Tendou for the amazing person and player he is and not the monster everyone else accused him to be. They radiate such a calm and peaceful feeling when they are together…beautiful

5. Daichi, Sugawara and Asahi. My 3rd year crows are such a great inspiration. They started together from the bottom never ever ceased to support and respect the other, sometimes leaving the necessary space, other times aggressively loving each other. They perfectly balance each other in their own, unique way. <3

Thank you for your message!

Ask me my top 5 things!

Unpopular opinion: I don't really like Haxby and I think Marney is wonderful because he respects Charlotte so much??? I think Haxby was always just a petty person and that everyone likes him because he's played by Edward Hogg (whom I adore as well) and that the random thing they had in episode 4 does not constitute them being a solid ship??? Yep, sue me.

I want to preface this by saying that I welcome discussion of all opinions, and thus, there’s really no need for things like “sue me.” It’s okay! We all have our opinions, and we all like whom we like. Own it. Furthermore, I think you’ll be happy to hear that this is not an unpopular opinion at all. I like Marney, as I’ve said. There’s always been tons of Marney love on my dash. There’s always been tons of love for him in the notes on my gifs of him. Hell, people even tag my Haxby gifsets with how much they prefer Marney. Believe me: by no means is the fandom’s preference clear cut.

And the thing is, it doesn’t need to be an either/or scenario when it comes to liking Marney and/or Haxby. It doesn’t even need to be either/or when it comes to shipping Charlotte with both or either of them. That’s part of why, upon seeing the preview for 1.06 last week, I explicitly expressed my unhappiness about the punching scene pitting the two men against each other over Charlotte.

By the timing, I’m guessing this message is in response to some of my recent posts/reblogs alluding to 1.07 and perhaps specifically to my admission yesterday that although I find Marney more likable than Haxby, I don’t find him or his relationship with Charlotte as interesting. Honestly, I hesitated ever saying that for fear of starting a ship war, but again, we all have our opinions. And although I did indeed come into this show with an undeniable Ed Hogg bias, please don’t imagine that that’s blinded me to Haxby’s personality or is the only reason I ever became so invested in him.

You’re absolutely right: Haxby is a petty person! He has always been petty, as well as scheming and priggish and self-righteous — and quite frankly, I have, since the very beginning, found him hilarious and delightful and intriguing precisely because of those qualities. They’re part of what fueled his bickering and needling and sorta-flirting with Charlotte, who, likewise, is petty and scheming and taunting right back to him. Nor is their rivalry unfounded: they are each, after all, seriously interfering with the other’s ability to effectively do their job or live the lifestyle they want. And yet, it’s not all been vitriol. They have each had moments — his prayers at Mary Cooper’s deathbed, her growing discomfort during the “hold my pisspot” scene — in which they find themselves awkwardly and unwillingly aligned. If Haxby had only ever been bitchy, I’d have found him amusing, surebut not nearly as interesting as he is with these quieter moments as contrast.

Now, what constitutes “a solid ship” is a debate as old as fandom itself (and a debate, I think, with no clear answer possible). But from a purely narrative standpoint — looking at it in terms of storytelling, previous interactions, foreshadowing, etc. — their hook-up in episode 4 was not random, did not come from out of nowhere, and is by no means the sole reason anyone might ship them. That sex was foregrounded by four full episodes of petty rivalry, uncomfortable empathy, and sharp barbs of flirtation all mixed together into a beautiful and complicated mess of a relationship that felt, to me, grounded very realistically in who they are as characters and where they each stood in society / Howard’s household. Charlotte and Haxby alike are two strong-willed, hard-headed, combative people who are well matched enough to go head to head, and they may not bring out the best in each other, but they certainly bring out something — something unexpected and bold.

And I, personally, find that immensely interesting. I am pretty dang sure I would find it interesting even if I’d never heard of Edward Hogg.

I’m not trying to convert you to this ship; just to explain why I find Haxby and his relationship (whatever it is) with Charlotte worthy of further exploration. And that’s really been the point to my recent posts / reblogs on the subject. I don’t know whether you’ve seen 1.07, and since I know that most of the people who might be reading this have not, I’m not going to get into that at all. But the point is NOT that I want to trash Marney or gloss over Haxby’s faults. I don’t want to do either of those things. I just want Harlots – a show which thus far has not shied away from exploring some very complicated relationships – to continue exploring this interesting thing it started.

I want characters who are well-rounded and complicated, I want relationships that feature both connection and friction, and I want narrative groundwork to be built upon, not discarded. I want those things for both Haxby and Marney. And I want those things most of all for Charlotte, who, in one way or another, intersects with them both.
