@markiplier Hey Mark, my name is Cindy. You changed no, not changed shaped my life. And you are still shaping it to this day. I know I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for you and Jack. It’s funny how much someone who doesn’t know who you are, despite you wanting to know everyone Mark, is able to change your life in so many ways. You may not believe it but I hated you. I honest to God thought you were a copy of Jacksepticeye, the Jacksepticeye. I watched a few of your prop hunt vids before I decided you were shitty. But jack kept collabing with you, and I warmed up. I know it’s very probable that you won’t see this and it will just get lost in your mentions. So if you do end up seeing this, know that I love you and that I will always support you. I haven’t been here the longest and I’m not the best, but I will do my best to always support you.

but the girl sitting in front of him (who was also his crush, mind u) hears him and turns around with the most disgusted expression on her face, and calls him out on it like “omg i cant believe you said that have you even seen yourself in a mirror you have no right to tell her shit” and then she turns to me and says “dont listen to him, you look gorgeous with or without glasses” and she probably already forgot about that but i always remember it whenever i feel self-conscious about myself

so the moral of the story is: if u see someone being a jerk to someone else, dont laugh along and call them out on it. stick together and bring all the fuckboys down

I swear to god if Jimin or Jungkook get to be on Hit The Stage rather than Hoseok I’m going to fucking scream. I am so pissed off to be honest. Yes Jimin and Jungkook are extremely talented in dance, but everyone knows that Hoseok deserves the spot on Hit The Stage. He’s Bangtan’s lead and main dancer, why are you all sleeping on him? He has the chance to JUST DANCE, which is all he’s ever wanted to do, you guys are actually not going to vote for him? Oh my god.

In Reverse.

Just an idea that i have in mind.

Lance had many hidden talents. He could sing, he could play the guitar, and was the only one in his family that could rival his mother cooking.

And, to everyone’s surprise, he was really good at flirting. Yes, he liked to joke around and tell girls stupid pick-up-lines, but he knew none of the things he said were going to get him somewhere with them. To be honest, it was only a game for him.

His stupid flirting always got people to laugh, to relax, which was his main goal.

But his actual flirting? Well, it always got him whatever he wanted.

Do you want to get into a place for free? Just bat your eyes and giggle a little. If you can, show a bit of skin. Do you need a favor? Call the person pretty names, hug them. Be a little more touchy, but still keep a distance. You don’t want them to think they can touch you whenever they want. Do you need money or need to buy something? Well, you need to work more for that one. Be nice, have little details with them. Hug them, hold their hand. Let them know that you care and you want something more than just a friendship even when you don’t. Be subtle, act naive and just drop hints that you want or need things. If you have them well wrapped around your finger, they will get anything that you ask for just to make you happy. Don’t forget to give them a few kisses, you need to keep them interested! If they start asking for more just leave them immediately.

To be honest, Lance was not… Truly proud of this talent. He didn’t like playing with other people’s feelings, but he did what he had to do to help his family. They didn’t have much money, and his mother and father struggled a lot to make sure they could attend to school and had something to eat everyday.

His flirtation was something he did to have fun once in a while, but after he realised how much he was getting from it he started taking advantage. At first they were simply stuff. Being able to go to places without spending a penny was good. He could still have fun without wasting his parents money on unnecessary things.

But then he started meeting new people. And these persons he met were wealthy as fuck. And Lance use this on his favor… He befriend them, he started flirting, and then manipulated into paying his family debts. Of course, for them it was nothing. Just more money to throw away in order to impress Lance and get on his good side.

For him? It meant everything when the bills arrived and saw the relief and confusion on his parents faces.

He stopped doing when he thought it was enough and spent the rest of his days studying to get a full scholarship on the Garrison to try to fufill his dream of becoming a pilot to travel the universe.

Of course, he never expected going so soon and becoming a part of as important as Voltron. To be honest, Lance felt really out of place. All of his teammates had amazing skills and great things to offer. Him? He didn’t have much, really. His talents weren’t a thing people usually looked for in a warrior.

Yes, he was smart ans was getting so much better in battle. But he didn’t have anything especial.

They took Zarkon down. They didn’t kill him, but he was to hurt to keep fighting. Everyone saw this as an opportunity to take the Galra Empire down now once and for all thinking that now they didn’t have a ruler it was going to be much easier.

Needless to say, they were wrong.

A new ruler arrived. His name? Lotor. An old friend of princess Allura. He asked for an audience with her. She accepted, claiming that she once knew him and that he deserved the benefit of the doubt.

They introduced themselves to the prince after he greeted Allura. They took their helmets off. Lance didn’t fail to notice the look Lotor was giving him.

Lotor was… Different. For the way he talked, everyone could see Lotor wasn’t too comfortable with following his father’s wishes, but was too loyal to go agaisnt him.

The prince, unlike his father, had feelings.

Voltron and Allura talked with the prince for hours. Once they realised they wouldn’t conviced Lotor to give up the fight, Allura changed the topic to more personal matters. Even when he was an enemy, he used to be her friend and was the only one apart from Coran and Zarkon who was left from her time.

Lance stared at the prince, shared some coy smiles and exchange a few words. When they changed from room, he put himself besides him and touch his shoulder after telling a joke.

Some laughed, some rolled their eyes.

Maybe he wasn’t as skillful as his friends, but Lance wasn’t an idiot either. If there was something Lance knew how to do, it was playing with people’s feelings.

The prince blushed, and he called it a victory.

I asked myself many times, “what if instead of Lotor manipulating Lance feelings, it was Lance who did the manipulating?”  and this came out. i may write more if people like this ???? and leave comments ???? idk love you all ♥

it gets harder to talk about but it gets easier to hold it in. to sit up prettier, to shut up louder, to pretend i don’t want you when all i want is to give in, to hold back the tears at the bar and release them once i get into my own bed, to pretend i want to exist. i want to exist. i want to exist. if i say it enough times, even i believe it. but suddenly, i’m a couple drinks in and i remember how unhappy i really am and everybody’s having fun around me but i can’t breathe anymore and my friend tells me i’m a wimp for never expressing my anger when the second i express it, there is always someone there to invalidate it. it’s getting easier to call myself crazy as an excuse for feeling, as if i’m not allowed to feel, as if this pressure build-up in my head is nothing but unequal brain chemistry, and everybody is so easy to brush off my emotions as being a product of mental illness instead of re-evaluating their own actions and wondering how in the world they could have made me feel this way.

so yeah, to say i’m mad is an understatement. to say i’m mad would even be lying. because it goes deeper than this feeling i experience once in a while, the real truth is that i’m sad and that sadness runs deep. i’m hurt. i feel like nobody even cares if they hurt me and the second i even suspect i am offending a stranger, i say sorry. but people run from me instead of apologize because their pride is more important than my feelings and it’s always been that way. i fall in love with anyone who shows me affection and people think it’s weird but when you’ve been deprived for so long from people who will listen, i don’t know, it’s hard. it’s still hard to believe that the second i start spilling my emotions, people talk over me. nobody wants to be with the person who brings up serious conversations at parties. nobody wants to be there for the girl who is always sad. everyone wants to pretend it doesn’t exist. and the more they pretend, the more i realize i’m getting good at this.

so i try to shut up until i can’t. like this time last year, i was showing up to your house to scream at you because i spent so much time holding everything in. but last night, i sent you fifteen text messages and deleted every one before i pressed send and i know no one’s gonna be there to congratulate me but maybe i can start being proud of myself because i don’t know how else i’m going to make this inadequate feeling end. you know, maybe i just have to keep trying things until i find something that works, maybe i just have to fly through boys until i find someone who isn’t gonna leave, maybe i just have to realize that the only person i’m ever going to truly have is me and i should stop holding people to impossible standards because they’re never going to live up to them and i’m always going to end up disappointed. nobody’s ever gonna care the way i want them to. it’s like i’m impossible to please. but god, i don’t know - i just wish for one second, someone would be excited about something because i am. be sad about something because i am. make me feel like my feelings affect others in some way. like they mean something. i’m growing so tired of the blank stares they give me.

i don’t know. maybe i’ve always asked for too much but i can’t remember the last time someone told me they loved me and if we’re being honest here: it’s devastating. i’m sad. i feel like i have nobody left. everyone likes me at first because i am so outgoing - i say what i’m thinking - but they leave soon after they realize that i am too much to deal with and they don’t really want to hear what’s in my head. they turn away because my insecurities make them nervous and who wants to deal with the girl who asks you if you hate them every five seconds? you say you don’t hate me but your body language tells me everything. i know i’m getting annoying but i can’t stop so i keep repeating it: i want to exist. i want to exist. i want to exist.

they say you’ve gotta let people in but the more i let people in, the more i regret it. i’m tired of silencing myself but it’s like the moments i’m silent are the only moments i’m not ruining everything.

—  I WANT TO EXIST. I WANT TO EXIST. I WANT TO EXIST. I’M NOT REALLY SAD. REMEMBER THIS.

Background: my party entered a void like realm and began traveling through a sort of maze, going through different trials and obstacles. As we reached a large empty area we all notice a black chest with a saliva like clear liquid oozing from it. Our Dragonborn had been carrying around a stack of flyers given to us by the constable in the town we were in before.

Dragonborn: I use a flyer and throw a paper airplane at it

DM: as the paper flies toward and lands on the chest, it unhinges and eat it.

We all roll perception (or maybe I only rolled perception but) I roll a 2 +1
At this point it’s obvious to everyone BUT ME that this is a creature and we shouldn’t approach it.

Me, a rogue: I wanna touch it…

The bard, the sorcerer, the other bard: NO NO NO NO, QWEN NO STOP

Me: I creep closer

Dragonborn: No it’s a mimick DONT TOUCH IT STOP

Me: *in real life doesn’t hear that it’s a mimick and still honest to god thinks it’s just an oozing chest* I touch it!

DM: roll initiative

Everyone: AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH

Me, genuinely shocked: :O

Film Analysis: The Themes of Wonder Woman

Source: Warner Bros. Pictures

I know I pretty much never deviate from SU but I really loved the latest Wonder Woman film. I just wanted to do a brief analysis because I feel like there are so many themes to unpack in the film (so there’ll be spoilers) and I was pleasantly surprised by the way things turned out.

I’ll be using images only from the official trailer WB posted on their YouTube channel though, in case you happen to scroll past and don’t want to see anything yet.

This post doesn’t feel like the appropriate avenue to talk about the cast, the sets, music, and colours, so I’ll be focusing on the film itself, particularly on the story. I enjoyed all the other things about the movie but won’t go into them here.

1. Diana of Themyscira

Source: WBP

Before any other character in DC and now the DCEU, I read and watched Wonder Woman. One thing I’d like to point out is how the story doesn’t shy away from her god-heritage and how that dictates her interactions with others. In fact, one pertinent lens to view this film is that of self-discovery.

Diana doesn’t know she’s god. Throughout the story she believes that she is as capable as any other Amazon (I really liked the Amazons, but maybe another post). She believes she’s equal in capacity and potential. I think this is an important thing to note. Diana didn’t go into war, looking for Ares, certain she was stronger than any other member of Themyscira. She left her home not because of a conviction that only she could do the task but because she believed it was the right thing to do. In her eyes, her mother and the other Amazons just didn’t see the value in entering human affairs the way she did. That was all.

What I appreciated was that she went on her “hero’s journey” not out of a sense of duty as the only one who could do it, but precisely because anyone could go and help put a stop to the fighting. It then was not a question of who was most worthy, which is a question that excludes, but a question of who believed in this cause.

That agency is important in the story, as many heroes’ journeys often begin with a powerful force that pushes the hero to step up. In this case, she could have remained in her insular life, but she decided to step out of the comfort of the island and into a world she’s repeatedly been told does not deserve her.

In that regard, Diana knows what’s waiting for her will be difficult and fulfilling her objective will be a struggle. That struggle extends beyond the fighting, as even walking down the street is an issue for her.

And these “issues” are laden with our concept of heteronormativity. We’re talking about the early 1900s and perceptions of women at the time were brought up again and again. How she should act, speak, and dress are all moments that were presented with a tension that rubs up against our current understanding of equality. For instance, that a session could no longer be held because a woman entered the room is the kind of dissonance that I feel was intended to come off as laughable, because decades later the idea of perpetuating the same attitude is absurd (and very inefficient). In the same way, I feel it calls to attention present and more subtle forms of bias that the film hopes we grow to see as equally absurd to perpetuate.

Source: WBP

Diana is presented as a character of depth. She is exceptionally strong, learned, and yet feels like a believable character because she is also prideful, flawed, funny, and naive. It’s a good proof as to why realistic movies don’t have to be “gritty” per se. Grit isn’t the magical ingredient; it’s grounding. And in her struggles to understand those around her as well as understand herself, the movements of the micro story are embedded and woven into a huge historical narrative, that of the Great War.

And I think that’s where we feel all our individual stories are. We are at once absorbed in the primacy of our own lives while living in the tumult of the world at large. Navigating both the personal and the global is the daily struggle.

Despite all of these struggles, both the physical fighting and the social tension, Diana stays true to her convictions about who she is and what she aims to do. Those beliefs can change, especially in light of new knowledge, which is what does happen in the film as she learns more about Sameer, Charlie, and Chief, but there is a Diana who remains.

“I am Diana, Princess of Themyscira,” she says in the film. Her commitment to an identity of which she isn’t even fully aware is striking, and that message is empowering to any viewer.

Because of this, the “reveal” of her godhood does not seem like an upheaval of her character. It is a part of Diana, but it doesn’t exclusively define her. In fact, as she knows more about herself, of which being a god is only a part, the more she is able to succeed. At the climax of the film, it is when Diana declares she fights for love and peace that she is able to muster up the strength to defeat Ares.

2. Her relationship with Steve

Source: WBP

From the onset, Diana is presented as the protagonist of the film. There is no question. Her first interaction with Steve is her saving him from drowning. Then, she walks in on him immediately after he bathes. Then after they leave the island, she makes it clear that she knows about “the pleasures of the flesh” and just doesn’t believe that having two people sleep beside each other is going to lead to anything if they don’t want it to.

In the earlier parts of the film, their interactions were presented with vulnerability on Steve’s part (danger, nakedness, fear), but we begin to see it in all the characters as the movie progresses. Moreover, we see how they deal with their vulnerability. Steve is a cynic, and this underlies the way he acts.

Steve isn’t a one-note character though. He is complex and has stories implied about him. He is able to think quickly and hold his own in all the situations they’ve been placed. And his occupation as a spy does seem to hit very close to the theme of self-discovery taken by Diana’s character. As a spy, Steve holds on to his core identity and plays with the characters he assumes, never losing sight of who he is. As such, we have two characters very different, but also very similar.

On the other hand, Diana isn’t presented as a character with gaps to fill (in the form of Steve). Rather, she’s a complete individual on her own, which is what makes her decision to love Steve more significant. It isn’t a decision of necessity, but similar to her deciding on taking the hero’s journey, it is a matter of choice.

The romance in the film feels organic in progression. I think it should be noted that the threat of death and the war ahead may have provided an adrenaline rush that propelled their romance forward, but even without taking it into consideration, they had a very intimate platonic relationship prior that could have believably developed towards the romantic. And again, for Steve’s character as well, it was a choice.

I enjoyed the contrast of Diana’s frankness and Steve’s truly trying to be inconspicuous and subtle in all his affairs. By the end of the film, both had begun to take up the better traits in the other. It is especially marked in Steve as he’d begun to trust Diana and open up about himself a little more.

3. The “Villain”

Source: WBP

A lot of people I know found the “villain” Ares to be lacklustre, and the ending cheesy. I disagree because systemic issues and human nature are my favourite things to explore in media, particularly media created for popular consumption.

Very explicitly it’s said in the film that we can’t all point our fingers to one “bad guy.” There is no one reason for war, inequality, poverty, and all of the injustice that we see in the world. There are many people who, and entire societies that orchestrate, execute, and then perpetuate the injustices that plague people even today. Tyrants don’t rise overnight (and they hadn’t in history either). This isn’t the first film to show this, and I hope it isn’t the last.

I really liked how the film pointed out that systemic and systematic injustice exists. There are specific people who do things that are deplorable, but there are also systems that enable them, and I think that is the takeaway from this theme.

I also applaud the look that was given Ares. Instead of the stereotypical villain, who is bigger, more violent, and appears more physically powerful than the protagonist, we have someone who looks unassuming but is infinitely powerful. We don’t see the usual male villain who is really muscular and that becomes the focal point of his villainy. Instead, we have someone manipulative and powerful in a different way. Instead of the traditional god of war who brawls, we have someone equally powerful but more tempered in that power, and it’s the mark of someone who really has lost everything and everyone and now just wants to start over.

Striking also is how all of the characters talk about the war as “The war to end all wars.” That was the honest sentiment of people during the First World War. Operative term here being “first.” That there were more wars that followed really speaks of how those systems and ideologies lived on after the people who instigated the conflict. And situated in the context of all those who died and lost everything, it seems callous that we would keep fighting one another and causing more destruction. But it is something that’s been done and is now etched forever in history.

The non-violent message features rather heavily in the film’s climax. When Diana fights Ares, the first thing to go is her sword, the one she believed was the god-killer. The sword is a classic symbol of violence, conflict, and war, and it was destroyed almost immediately. It’s interesting because she clung to that weapon throughout the film, and it gave her faith in her own abilities.

In the end, it is not brute force that will stop the existing brute force. Diana herself put a stop to Ares. It was what emanated from her that destroyed the embodiment of violence.

In that regard, it is the individual who has to decide not to give in to the temptation of furthering violence and injustice. After all, Ares’ main role in the film was to tempt. That was exactly what he did to Diana and she resisted.

4. The role of Dr. Poison

Source: WBP

Isabel Maru had such a presence in the film, even though she didn’t feature on the screen as often as did the other characters. Back in London, they deemed her the greatest threat. They were setting out specifically to destroy her laboratory.

I find her character very interesting because we get the faintest sign of a backstory from her and it’s still all very coherent. Her file reveals that she didn’t always have an injury on her face, and based on her interactions with Ludendorff and later, Steve, she’s searching for acceptance and affirmation. There is a subtle manipulation that goes into convincing her to continue creating poisons and chemical weapons.

Even among enemy lines, there is a struggle for her not to be infantilised and patronised, or to be viewed only as a woman in the case of her interaction with Steve. Especially in the latter scene, Isabel is fully aware of this and explicitly tells him she knows. She may not have been pulling all the strings, but she was presented from the beginning as a strong secondary character to the main enemy.

Diana was able to defeat Ludendorff relatively easily, but Maru had survived until the end of the film and was in the climax. What Ares tempted Diana to do was destroy Dr. Poison, and Diana let her go.

In depth: Throughout the movie, Diana was never directly pitted against her. The former’s goal was always to remove Ares in the form of Ludendorff. Then suddenly, close to the end, Ares pits the two women against each other (It’s all a very familiar story). Diana chooses not to perpetuate the cycle of killing and violence that characterises the pasts of so many of the other characters.

5. What it leaves us

Source: WBP

One emergent theme from the film that we get is a loss of innocence. At first, Diana is idealistic and feels her beliefs are clear-cut. Liars are bad. Ares is responsible for everything. Being strong is enough to save the day.

Gradually, we see her belief in these things erode, eventually replaced by an understanding that the world is more complex than it was made out to be. At the same time, there are moments when world doesn’t want to be saved.

It culminates when Steve sacrifices himself at the climax of the film. At this point, it appears as though there is no use in fighting Ares, and it seems as though Ares was proven correct all along. Human beings are cruel and violent and selfish. It becomes so easy to assume apathy. What does it matter what one person does if there are all these people and systems that perpetuate injustice? It becomes easy to give up and do nothing or give up and join in.

At the same time, though, Steve’s loss presents the other side of the story. Human beings are empathetic and altruistic; they try to see the good in others and are moved to change by others’ suffering. It is true that a lot of the systemic issues we see in the movie, particularly for equality and peace, are still present today, but we’re making progress.

Diana emerges with a realistic working understanding of human beings. They aren’t perfect, and they are capable of great harm, but also great good. As she said, she’s realised it wasn’t up to her to save the world for them, but she’d be there when they did make the decision.

In our current socio-political climate, it is almost the default to affect the same hopelessness and apathy. But that’s why the message of love, justice, and peace was anything but “cheesy.” It’s precisely what we can do in the environment we’re put in. It’s something that is in our control, and like all things the movie presents, it is a choice.

I really love Wonder Woman. Before there was Harley Quinn in my life, there was and will always be Wonder Woman. I loved the way Jenkins told the story and I really hope for more like it in the DCEU. So much could be written specifically about the character as a woman, and all the imagery that comes with it. And the Amazons. Countless posts could be dedicated only to analysing their social structure, values, and dynamics. The film was great and it did justice to a lot of what made Wonder Woman so appealing when I was growing up.

Wait guys are you really seeing “i love all of you” as castiel trying to cover up the first i love you? That wasn’t a cover up, that was a confession. Let me explain.

Cas says “i love you” and looks down(that is the only time he looks down, except when he’s thinking of what to say), camera cuts to dean and dean is.. a bit annoyed by it?? Because he knows where this is going. Cas loves them and he’s dying and dean is tired of all this saying goodbye crap. He’ glad he hears these words, but why are they always said in situations like these?

bUT THEN MY FRIENDS, cas says “i love all of you.” Camera once again cuts to dean, but this time dean doesn’t move a muscle. There is no need to say it twice, unless you’re one of these two idiots can’t confess their love without getting family in it. But they do say it one way or the other. He realises this is how he said that to cas and now he knows the first “i love you” was only for him. (May i add, i don’t think anybody ever said to cas they loved him except dean and dean said it this way. I might be wrong but..) It honestly looks like he’s caught off guard, he thought the L train has passed(tf am i even saying, but you get the point). And guess what, sam notices too. He’s heartbroken because his best friend is dying, obviously, but he knows cas loves them, he knows cas is family. He also knows what dean means to cas, and cas to dean. He’s spent too much time with them not to know.

Idk, to me it seemed deeper and more honest than cas just hiding love for dean in his last moments. They all already know so what’s the point. I also think this was a response (a very ironic one), to “we need you. I need you.”

The Ephebians believed that every man should have the vote (provided that he wasn’t poor, foreign, nor disqualified by reason of being mad, frivolous, or a woman). Every five years someone was elected to be Tyrant, provided he could prove that he was honest, intelligent, sensible, and trustworthy. Immediately after he was elected, of course, it was obvious to everyone that he was a criminal madman and totally out of touch with the view of the ordinary philosopher in the street looking for a towel. And then five years later they elected another one just like him, and really it was amazing how intelligent people kept on making the same mistakes.

Brutally Honest Roasts of the Signs

(Note: The key word here is brutal. Talking from personal experiences with the signs… and then over exaggerating… do not take seriously - all depends on your overall chart. Look at sun and venus. Sorry some are shorter than others, haven’t encountered all of the signs properly.)

Aries: Can you just calm down for a sec? It’s like you can’t be content unless there’s something going on or some sort of person you’re chasing. Emphasis on chasing too. If they’re too easy, you’re over it. Why does everything in life need to be a challenge?

Taurus: You need to open up. Do you wonder why Taurus’ are called the ‘boring ones in the zodiac?’ It’s because y’all take 10 years and 7.5 days to let someone in.

i just wanted you to tell me.
when things were getting hard again,
when all you felt was a whirlwind in your head,
when you went out with girls who weren’t me.

i wanted you to describe the people you fell in love with:
why you loved them, how they treated you,
if you still fight with yourself about
if you are worth anything or not because
they made you question your self-worth every day.
i wanted you to tell me about the things they did right,
about why they’re still in and out of your life,
about how you ran into them in the supermarket
the other day and you still felt something
when you hugged them goodbye.

i wanted you to tell me
about all of the the mistakes you made
and why you made them.
i wanted you to introduce me
to all of the monsters under your bed.
i wanted to hear about the happiest you’ve ever been
even if it wasn’t with me.
i wanted to hear about your boss and your job
and the new car you were thinking of buying.
i wanted to see the two apartments you were looking at
and try to decide with you which is better.

i wanted to know about the times
you’ve thought about driving your car off a cliff
and the little moments that made you re-think it.
i wanted to be there to celebrate your triumphs
and admire your strength - i wanted to know everything
about you so i could love you anyway.

but i guess with you, i found out not everyone is like me.
not everyone blurts out their whole life story
every time they are given the chance.
and i just wanted you to tell me
who made you feel like you couldn’t open up,
who hurt you so bad that you couldn’t let me in,
somebody who honest to god,
would have loved you no matter what.

but i ask you how you are and you say “not bad”
and then you ask about me
and you wake up in another girl’s bed
because you don’t know how to open up
and you let me find out months later
because you don’t know how to open up
and you let me hear stories about you from other people
because you don’t know how to open up

and it’s just sad, how all i wanted was to help
but you’ve never done anything but run from my love
and i get it
i guess
some people are just more reserved
and some people are afraid
and some people don’t take people up on offers to talk about it
even if the other person insists
and you can’t force people to let themselves fall in love with you.
you can’t force them to open up.

but aren’t there things that make you want to scream?
aren’t there things that make you want to cry?
aren’t there things you are so passionate about that
if you don’t let them out, you feel like you’re drowning?
don’t you ever hear something and can’t wait to tell me?
i guess what i’m trying to ask is
if you really have so little passion
or if you’re just not passionate about me.

—  we were sitting across from each other screaming, but i was the only one making a sound

Okay but Nicky is such a fascinating character

Like honest-to-God one of the most amazing to me

Because everyone likes to treat him as comic relief and such? Which I mean you’re not wrong he is a spot of sunshine in this mess of a family

But think about teenage Nicky, coming so very close to the edge and traveling halfway across the world just to be pulled back

Nicky who has finally come to terms with his sexuality, managed his depression, is happy with a fiancee and a future

Who decides, on the spur of the moment, to drop all of that to come back and look after the twins

There’s nothing to suggest he and Aaron were ever close

He doesn’t even know Andrew

Its not even like they don’t have anyone else, his parents COULD take them in, and he’s practically a kid himself no one could be expecting him to take responsibility for a pair of traumatized teenagers

But he wants to protect these two boys, even though he’s just a little older than they are, even though it means putting his own life on hold

He leaves his fiancee and his world that HE made for himself and HE fought for, fought back from the edge for

To come back to the place that almost killed him, to work stupid waiting and bartending jobs, just so he can take care of his cousins who seem like they couldn’t care less

And he never reacts. He never guilts them or acts as though they owe him something. Andrew attacks him on a regular basis and Aaron treats him like he’s some stupid pet and he still stays and fights for them

Yes Nicky is funny and light and a spot of sunshine in this mess of a family

But he is also so good and loyal and selfless and has so much more /depth/ than you would think

And I just. I need more people talking about this please.

Since you're offering advice: What do you suggest to those of us for whom it is natural and automatic to leave "evaluating" comments? Lately I have erred on the side of simply saying nothing at all, though I feel there must be a happy medium. We are trained all through school to evaluate writing. The first fic site I was ever part of welcomed concrit. I love receiving concrit. I don't agree that it's universal bad etiquette to leave critique. Of course rude and entitled comments are bad. ???

I think it’s just a matter of changing your mindset to accommodate for the situation. You mentioned that in school, you were trained to evaluate writing– was this a writing school where both parties were offering up something to be critiqued and improved? That’s the first difference with fanfic– obviously there are a lot of writers that communicate with one another, but overall there are much more readers than there are writers. Therefore, it’s not equal to offer critique because you are not putting yourself in an equally vulnerable position with that other person. Yes, you love concrit but there’s no like… partnership. Is this making sense? Like I’ve been in writing classes before and in those, you do get to know and trust the people who are giving you concrit. And, you knew that one week they would be critiquing you, and the next you would be offering them suggestions. There was an equal vulnerability and an shared interest in improving.

This isn’t the experience of fandom. You don’t have that trust and partnership that is created in a writing club or school or smaller FF community. And, most importantly, some people honest-to-god aren’t looking to improve their writing. They’re just here to have a good time. Obviously, everyone improves naturally over time, but they aren’t looking for suggestions. They’re just sharing.

I always like to think of fanfic in terms of cooking for people (i’ve made this analogy before but it works here too). If you were eating at a friend’s house and they asked, “Did you think there was enough salt in the sauce”, then by all means you would feel comfortable answering. Or if it was a good friend, you might even be comfortable saying “This is lovely– I think it would be even better with more mushrooms!” However, you would not go to a relative strangers house, eat their food, and then offer advice. Especially if you knew you would never see this person and they didn’t ask for it. It’s more polite to just keep it at “This is delicious, thank you so much for cooking!” (The best food is free food. Never complain about free food.)

In terms of curbing your natural response to leave concrit rather than just nice comments: In my writing class, I always learned to start with a few positive things before moving on to improvements they can make. So, leaving a positive comment means just cutting out that second half. Leave all those specific, positive good parts. There is nothing better than comments like “I loved your characterization of XX, It was lovely to see the depth in that character” or “Your writing was lyrical and detailed- I felt I could really see the scene unfold!” or “Omgg the line “INSERT LINE HERE” made me smile!” – All the skills of concrit are awesome when applied to positive comments. Just leave out the second half!

You’re right: It’s not universal bad etiquette to leave constructive criticism on a piece of writing. However, it is fandom bad etiquette to leave it on a fic where the author has not asked for it.

If you do love giving and recieving concrit, there are options! First and foremost, say that you welcome concrit in the notes of your fic so you can continue to receive it. In terms of giving it, offer to beta for people! This is the stage of writing when people want and need all the editing skills you have gained in school or elsewhere!

Thanks for the question– I hope this helped you understand where fic authors are coming from and some alternative ways for you to enjoy your fandom experience!

Title: Just Asking For Some Privacy
Pairings: Gen Fic: Marinette/Ladybug, Adrien/Chat Noir, Chloe/Queen Bee, Alya/Volpina
Summary: “No but she’s right. What the heck could the four of us possibly have to do that’s apparently so important that it needs to be done in private, in an abandoned locker room, and in the middle of an akuma attack?”

The latter half of Adrien’s sentence hung in between the four of them while they all stood in silence and narrowed their eyes at each other.

Now that Adrien mentioned it…that was a little weird.

Just Asking For Some Privacy

So here’s the thing.

Finding the perfect hiding spots for transforming and detransforming was easily the most difficult part about being a superhero. Hands down.

One minute you’re running into the girl’s bathroom on the fourth floor about to jump out the window and save the city, the next you’re hiding in the bathroom stall from a mob of older lycée girls touching up their makeup before their first period class, balancing precariously on a toilet, and getting frantic calls from your teammates about why you’re not there to help fight an akuma the literal size of the Eiffel Tower.

Then you have to show up to a fight and explain why your foot is drenched in toilet water all while maintaining the grace and dignity of Ladybug, a.k.a Team Leader, a.k.a. Should Probably Have Her Crap Together Better Than This. You’d think that after a year of being Ladybug this part of the job description would get easier, but apparently that’s just too much to ask for .

“You know it’s not as bad as you think,” Tikki whispered to Marinette as she walked to her next class. “At least you have a lot of free time in between classes and after school to get some privacy. Some Ladybug’s didn’t even have that.”

Marinette pouted. “I know you’re just trying to put things in perspective, but it’s still annoying. I had to transform underneath the reference desk in the library today. I cannot emphasize how impossible that felt in the moment.”

Tikki shrugged and dipped back into Marinette’s bag when she spotted students passing them in the halls. “Might be worth trying to find a new official transformation spot now that you’re in a new school for lycée.”

The first time John walks into his boys kissing, he’s sober enough to drag his tired ass to a separate room and let them enjoy the night and part of the next morning. The second time, though, it looks like they’re just kissing and cuddling–and he takes a second to stare, because isn’t that sweet? He vaguely remembers doing the same with Mary before Dean was born, and well it seems their boys are just as boring and domestic as they used to be.

Who could’ve guessed, huh?

But before he can leave the room and make some noise outside to warn them he’s back, Sam makes a startled noise and honest to God pushes Dean away from him so desperately that the kid just falls out of the bed. John winces in simpathy– this must’ve hurt. But then he suddenly remembers they don’t know he knows, because they’ve been trying real hard to hide their whatever-they-have from everyone, John’s name placed at the golden #1 position on their list.

“We..we–” Dean is stuttering and stumbling on his own feet, looking so young and scared that John wonders if he should step closer and hug the kid. “Sam did nothing wrong, s-sir–”

Okay, maybe John should’ve warned them. He could’ve left a note or something, at least– but hey, tracking the demon and hunting supernatural things wasn’t exactly easy. His to-do list is a bit full right now and he’s been a little too busy to remember his kids were kissing each other (and doing other things he really didn’t want to know about, and Sam’s already 15 so hey, not his damn business anymore).

“Dean, shut up.” John replies, but maybe he’s too tired because he sounds rougher than expected and Dean just tenses up and looks even more younger if it’s possible. “Come here, son.”

Dean gulps loudly and takes nothing but a second to stare at Sam, but then lowers his head and steps closer, still tense. John will remember to leave a note next time he finds out one of his kids fell in love with a family member, but for now he just pulls his oldest into a hug and doesn’t let go until Dean relaxes completely–

“It’s okay, buddy.”

–which takes a damn long time, a lot of encouragement and Sam silently slipping into the hug when John invited him.

He’s made peace with his mind a long time ago about their relationship, or whatever they name it. It took some time and a fair share of liquor bottles and bar fights, of course– but he’s seen how happy they are with each other, how they protect and love each other. He didn’t choose to love Mary, just as they didn’t choose this. It’s not fair to destroy their happiness just because he got his ripped apart all those years ago.

“I’m okay with this.” John says at some point, presses gentle kisses to Dean and Sam’s foreheads before finally letting them go. “It’s not what I expected for you when you were born, but…” He also didn’t expect to lose Mary, to have this kind of life. “But we’re family.”

“Dad–”

He smiles and pats Sam’s cheek playfully. “Just give your old man a break and try not jump into your brother’s pants when I’m around. You’re damn loud, kiddo.”

He’s never seen Sam lose his words so fast.

This is a friendly reminder that a spirit companion or a god spouse is not an imaginary friend that does everything you want to do all the time. They have their own wants and needs, likes and dislikes, and most importantly they are their own person. You have to put effort and work into relationships with them just like you would a physical friend/lover/spouse. They don’t have to like you or love you just because you want them to and they may or may not fit into your current lifestyle.
A spirit companion is not necessarily a good solution for lonely people. To be honest as a godspouse myself it can be even more lonely then being alone. You can’t touch your spouse, you can’t ask for a table for two at a restaurant and share a meal the same way normal couples do, and you spend your life with everyone around you not knowing about your spouse. My personal favorite is people constantly ask you why you don’t date because I’m just fine with my god spouse therefore at the moment I’m completely uninterested in physical dating. Even if you can become good at working in the astral realms so that you can be with your spouse in their own realm that is in no way a substitute for them being physical. I’m constantly on the look out for a plush or doll version of my spouse just to have something at all to hold on to but in my heart of hearts I know this won’t solve the problem. A doll isn’t them.
A spirit companion is not an automatic happy ending. Spirit friendships end and spirit marriages can fail. I fight with my god spouse sometimes. Since our views on life are so drastically different we don’t see eye to eye on many things. They have drastically different priorities then I do.
And don’t even get me started on the dangers of spirit work if you don’t know what you’re doing. There are spirits who pray on people. There are spirits who claim to be other spirits so they can get inside your protections and real havoc on your life. Gods themselves can harm you, it’s happened to me. Not all gods are benevolent just because they’re a god. This can be just as dangerous as online dating: you could end up with someone nice or a predator. But if you end up with a predator there’s no police to calm to cart them away. Unless you’re lucky enough to have someone who can help you deal with the problem you’ll have to deal with it yourself.
If you are looking into spirit work because you’re lonely you’d be better off getting a pet. If you’re looking into spirit work because it’s trendy would you take up an possibly dangerous extreme sport just because everyone else was doing it?

In all honesty, Clarke is well aware that her current predicament is entirely her own fault.

After all, she’s the one who decided to leave off fulfilling the last of her general electives till the very last semester of her very last year in college.

All the same, she would very much like to be able to have someone else to blame for it. Because, well. Who the hell wouldn’t.

In that sense, she’s sort of grateful for Finn Collins.

Finn Collins gives her something towards which she’s able to redirect all her quiet resentment regarding ancient civilisations and the mountain of useless information about them she’s being forced to imbibe every Tuesday and Thursday, information that she’ll never even be able to use in life once she’s out of this lecture hall.

So, yes. Is she grateful for Finn Collins? Sort of.

Does that make her want to punch his teeth in any less? Hard no.

Especially around the three-week mark, when she starts making a habit of bringing coffee to class with her.

Coffee makes her awake. Coffee makes her alert. Coffee makes her notice shit.

Like her very attractive, very good looking ancient civilisations professor.

(Technically, the professor is supposed to be the thing everyone notices in a class. It’s kind of how education works.)

But, seriously.

Look, the thing is, she has absolutely nothing against ancient civilisations. Really. It’s not even that she thinks they don’t make for interesting subject matter or anything. If she’s being completely honest? She just doesn’t have time for that. There’s way too much shit happening in the world right now to spend valuable time and energy thinking about stuff that’s happened thousands and thousands of years ago.

But when Professor Blake starts talking about ancient civilisations… God

It’s the only thing she wants to think about for the rest of the day.

Okay so let's pretend that the RFA were able to talk to their respective MC in a language besides Korean so they've been assuming for the longest time ever that MC can't speak Korean. One day, they come home and hear her singing a song creepily in Korean and once they find her she's just laughing her ass off. How would the RFA react? I'm sorry I just have a sudden urge to see someone write this if your requests aren't open feel free to disregard this~

A/N: I’m so sorry this took so long omfg ;A; But I hope I got what you were talking about??? ~Admin 404

*YOOSUNG:

-Since you didn’t start out speaking Korean in the chatroom, he just assumed you couldn’t

-OOOOO A FOREIGNER, YOOSUNG IS HYPED

-After the two of you got close, he came home early from his classes one day- not knowing you were in your shared home

-He was in the middle of changing, shirt halfway over his head, when he noticed singing?

-It was a standard Korean lullaby, but it was being sung quiet and very slowly

-HE ACTUALLY GOT SO SCARED THAT HE GOT STUCK IN HIS SHIRT

-Tried to run out of the house, thinking it was a ghost, but ran into the wall- resulting in him falling on his ass

-You pull the shirt off his head, asking if he was alright

               -“MC WE GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE, THERE’S A GHOST!!!! A G H O S T!!!”

-He’s up on his feet, trying to drag you out of the house yoosung what about your shirt

-“A ghost? What do you mean? What makes you say that?”

-“I just heard someone sing this lullaby all slow and creepy and we just, WE GOTTA GO”

-Super confused when you bust out laughing

-omg you weren’t laughing at the fact he had no shirt on, were you???

               -“That wasn’t a ghost, I was singing!”

-One second, two seconds, three seconds…. ding! Light bulb!

-“You learned a Korean lullaby? When did you do that?”

-“Uh, years ago. When I learned Korean. Didn’t you know that?

               -when you fuckin’ WHAT

-He is completely mindblown to find out you speak Korean??

-Though now he’s really embarrassed about just assuming you didn’t know the language

-Super happy to talk in either language, it makes him feel cool tbh

-is completely pissed off when he finds out you sent a video of him running into the wall to saeyoung

*ZEN:

-He always asks for an extra copy of his scripts in *insert mc native language here* so you can practice with him!!

-You never understood why he did that, maybe he was just trying to be nice?

-But he always did that with you? With everything?

-Any DVD’s, CD’s, absolutely anything he brings home is in your native language

-Does he think you’re more comfortable that way?

-Obviously, you appreciate it but it’s kind of like…..

-There’s no need to go so out of his way to do all of that for you!

-One day, you were taking a shower and decided to sing one of the songs from his most recent play

-You love Zen and love that he’s happy with his career but god daMN THAT SONG IS STUCK IN YOUR HEAD AND YOU ARE BEYOND DONE WITH IT

-So you made fun of it by singing ridiculously, trying different voices, tones, anything you can think of

-All of a sudden, the bathroom door is thrown open, slamming against the wall

-“MC IS THAT YOU?? ARE YOU SINGING LIKE THAT?? HAVE MY WORDS TOUCHED YOU SO DEEPLY THAT YOU KNOW THEM BY HEART, DISPITE THEM BEING IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE?”

-You just poke your head out of the shower to stare at him, watching as he starts to talk to himself about how beautiful his voice must for you to have learned it so quickly

-“Do you know the meaning??? I can give you a word by word translation!! Do you want that? DO YOU WANT ME TO DO THAT?”

-“No? I mean, yeah… You play it all the time… because you’re learning it but I know the words on my own, thanks sweetheart”

-You??? Knew what the words meant??

-He just kind of stares at you in disbelief before you roll your eyes and return to taking your shower

-“Zen? Why are you still here? Go aw-” “YOU CAN SPEAK KOREAN”

-You sigh and agree that yes, you can speak Korean, and you’ve been able to this whole time

-He starts crying??? What in the world???

-“I CANNOT BELIEVE I DIDN’T KNOW THIS ABOUT MY LOVE! I’M A TERRIBLE MAN, DON’T LOOK AT ME, MC!” not looking at you anyway, zen, tryna shower here

-“Save the drama for your play later, sweetheart. It’s alright, I just never said anything about knowing another language”

-Literally spent most of the rest of the day just pouting and feeling terrible that he never knew. You have to comfort him often because it was something neither of you ever really brought up way to go mc ya broke ya boyfriend

*JAEHEE:

-After working for Jumin for so long, she’s unfortunately learned to assume if you look foreign, you might not speak other languages

-So she’s already assumed you speak only your native language, so she automatically accommodates to your needs

               -Though you…. don’t need it??

-You figured that she wanted to make things easier for you, which you appreciated, but you wanted to make things easy for her too!!

-What’s funny is that you’ve talked to her late at night, after she’s been up for days, in Korean so that it’s easier for her mind to process what you ask

-Did she pick up on it? Not at all. poor tired bby, someone help her

-So despite the fact that you leave notes for her written in Korean, she just… hasn’t…. noticed?

-Because she still talks to you in your native tongue

-Seriously, you’ve tried everything to make it blatantly obvious that you could speak Korean

-The easiest way to tell her that, ‘hey, i don’t need you to translate convos for me, i promise’ is to just straight up tell her

-Except you didn’t get a chance to?

-You were sweeping the house one day, belting out one of Zen’s songs from his latest musical

-Getting into it, you dance with the broom, dipping it dramatically

-During your dip though, you look up to find Jaehee standing in the doorway, at a loss for words

-“Oh… so.. you really do speak Korean.. I wasn’t going crazy, then”

-SHE LOOKED SO EMBARRASSED THAT YOU COULDN’T HELP BUT FEEL BAD

-“I, um, I apologize for just assuming that you-”

-You cut her off when you pulled her into a quick dance around the living room, singing the previous song all over again

-With a swift motion, you dipped her like you did the broom

-A quick peck to her lips sent her over the edge and she burst into giggles

-“You’re a much better dance partner than the broom” you tell her in Korean, with a wiggle of your eyebrows

-She pushes you away from her and laughs as she leaves the room, calling over her shoulder

-“Maybe you should learn a few more songs there, MC”

*JUMIN:

-Also guilty of just assuming you only spoke your native language

               -Also never bothered to ask

-You don’t even bother to tell him though because you’re lowkey salty about it

               -Like??? He didn’t even ask???

-You love him and all, but it’s been… how long? And he never even bothered to asK YOU IF YOU KNEW HIS LANGUAGE

               - damn mister trustfund kid

-But it’s actually really funny because he talks to Elizabeth in Korean

-So he thinks you don’t know how much he’s praising her, or baby-talking her

               -But you KNOW

-And you’re left wondering why he doesn’t talk to you like that sometimes

               - god damn cat getting all the attention (kiDDING I LOVE U ELLY)

-But let’s be honest, you love her just as much and do the same exact thing

-In fact, you love to sing to her! And she loves it too!

-She turns into a freaking motor box when you sing, she loves it soo much

-So you sing to her every day, it makes her happy, makes you happy, everyone is happy

-One day, you were singing to her, but Jumin actually came home early??

-So he heard you singing too, and just sat down quietly next to you

-Waited patiently until you finished the song before speaking

               -“So, you sing to Elizabeth?”

-“Every day, sweetheart! You just happened to catch the show”

-Immediately thought about asking Saeyoung to install some hidden microphone or something to capture you singing every day

               - that isnt creepy at all, dude

-With a slight tilt of his head, he looked at you, eyes full of question

-You had to fight the urge to kiss his cute little face, but it was worth it

-“So, MC? You can speak Korean? Not just *insert native language here*?”

-You nodded in agreement, looking down at Elly, petting her with a smile on your face

-“I’ve known this whole time… *pulls Elly up to face* But SOMEBODY *kisses Elly’s nose* Never bothered asking. Did he? No, no he didn’t! He didn’t, did he Elizabeth??”

-You shot him a side glare, watching as his face twisted into slight embarrassment and back to a playful one before getting up to leave the room

-“It’s okay, MC. I’ll test out how well you can pronounce those Korean words later tonight.”

*SAEYOUNG:

               -He loVED your aCCENT

-So he spoke to you in your native language just so he could hear it

-Did he know you could speak Korean?

               -Yeah probably

-DID HE CARE? I’m hearing “no”

-Did he remember, a long time later, that you could speak Korean?

-Again, I am going with no

-He’s always thinking about god knows what all the damn time so it isn’t surprising that he forgot you spoke Korean all together

-In fact, you were hoping he did forget you spoke Korean, or your new plan wouldn’t work out how you wanted it to

-You see, you and Saeyoung like to prank each other like crazy, but his last one really irked you

-(I mean come on??? Who in the world thinks it’s funny to sneak a permanent marker into your pants pocket when you do laundry??? That rUINS YOUR CLOTHES)

-So, you decided that revenge was in order, and you wanted nothing more than to scare him to death

-After a long set up with a creepy life-size doll trapped to an rc car, a couple of speakers hidden, and a ton of hidden cameras, you were ready for him to come home

-When he got into the room and noticed the girl standing in the corner, he immediately noped the hell out and tried leaving

-But you locked the door! There is no escaping sweet revenge!

-You started to sing little kids nursery rhymes through a microphone, it coming through the hidden speakers broken and ominous

-“noPE! NOPE NOPE NOPE. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU? I KNOW HOW TO FIGHT LITTLE GIRL, I’M NOT AFRAID TO KICK YOU IN THE FACE”

-So you kept singing, stopping only to ask him to come play, in child-like voice

-“NO I DON’T WANNA PLAY, JESUS CHRIST, SOMEONE LET ME OUT”

-You decided to chase him around with the doll, using the wireless controller from the other room

-You didn’t know he could scream in such a high pitch, I swear to god, dogs from around the world could hear it

-He was getting out of that room, then and there. He broke down the door. Ran down the hallway and heard you laughing from another room

-He didn’t even think about why you were laughing, he just jumped onto your lap, and latched onto you, hugging tight and burying his face against you

-“MC! THERE’S A CREEPY DEMON CHILD IN THE OTHER ROOM IT’S CHASING ME, MC PLEASE PROTECT ME”

-But you couldn’t even reply- you were laughing too hard. He looked around and saw your set up of monitors, wireless controller, and microphone

-He looked up at you with a ton of mixed emotions

-First of all he was still a little freaked out?? But he was also kinda pissed off that you scared the hell out of him! But he’s also in awe that you set all this up… and so in love with how hard you’re laughing…

               -HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT TO F E E L

-Takes a second to think about the situation and suddenly remembers

-“Wait… you can speak Korean… I TOTALLY FORGOT YOU COULD DO THAT? WHAT THE HELL MC, I THOUGHT YOU WERE SOME CREEPY LITTLE GIRL”

-You give him an innocent smile, but based on the look he gave you once he stood up and walked away

-He was probably going to use that fact against you for his revenge prank, and you weren’t positive you wanted to know what that was going to be

*V:

-Off the bat, he asks which language you’re more comfortable speaking in

-When you said your own native language, he understood, and tried his best to accommodate for you!

-Ever since then he’s always making sure he can translate things for you, whether it be signs or casual conversation

-You knew Korean but didn’t know if you were a strong enough speaker, which is why you initially told him you were comfortable with your first language

-So, you secretly were testing out your language skills every time the two of you went out!

-When he translated for you and you had gotten it right in your head, you were so excited!

-But he didn’t know that ’s what you were doing??

-He just always saw you light up and smile softly to yourself and it made him weAK

-Was it because he was translating for you??

-Didn’t know exactly, but was definitely going to keep doing whatever he was doing because that loOK

               -IT WAS SOOO PRECIOUS

-But he felt bad that he couldn’t go shopping with you one day because he had some people he had to see

-What if you couldn’t read the signs?? What if you couldn’t talk to the people?? WhAt If-

-So he tried to make his meetings go as quickly as possible without being rude

-And he ran to meet you at your favourite coffee shop, where he knew you’d stop first!

-As he walked up behind you, getting ready to surprise you and order for you, he took a step back when he heard you ordering perfectly fine in Korean

-You even made small talk with the barista! In perfect Korean!

-When you turned around with your coffee, he stared at you in surprise, but he scared the shit out of you! You almost dropped your coffee!

-“V! Hey! You scared me…. I thought you had to go meet a few people? Did something happen? Are you alright?”

-You asked. In perfect Korean. Why did you doubt your language skills??

-“I thought you only knew *your native language of choice*? So I haven’t needed to translate for you this whole time?”

-You could see the disappointment in his eyes as you quickly shook your head (and hands) in embarrassment

-“No no no no, you asked me in the beginning if I was more comfortable with my native language, which I am! I know Korean but I was afraid about getting something wrong, so I really appreciated all of your translations! They help me make sure I’m learning and getting it all right!”

-Explaining it to him was definitely the smart move because you watched as he went from sad puppy to ecstatic pup knowing that he was able to help you learn new things and solidify what you already knew!

-From then on, he always tries to let you figure it out first, then help you if you need it!

-Was he embarrassed that he always translated when you didn’t need it? Yes

-Did he get over it quickly? Also yes. He’s a precious tol bean. He is alright with this revelation.

*SAERAN:

-Also knew from the start that you knew Korean

-He talked to you from the beginning in Korean so he knew afterwards that you’d know

-Not like you all of a sudden lost your knowledge on a full language….right?

-That being said he just plain refuses to let you pretend like you can’t speak him language

-Every time you try to talk to him in your native language he just kind of looks at you with absolutely no emotion

-“Hi, MC, speak in a language I know please, thanks”

               -Like seriously

-This man does not let you have any fun with it at all

-You even tried to fake some sort of amnesia, too

-To like, pretend you forgot how to speak Korean so he’d have to talk to you in your native language

               -Did it work? No

-He just stared at you like you were stupid

               -He’s such a jERK

-WHY CAN’T YOU JUST PLAY ALONG, SAERAN. JUST GIVE ME THIS ONE THING

-You even try to mess with him in public

-You ask him to order some food for you, asking him in your native language

-The cashier is confused but Saeran just stares at you

-He completely understands what you say, despite pretending that he doesn’t

-Turns back to the cashier and tells them that you’re getting nothing

-WAIT SAERAN PLEASE I WANT FOOD TOO

-Until the day he slips up and responds to a question you ask him in your language

-You celebrate, including a victory dance

-He just curses at himself for messing up and letting you win

-Though he does think it’s really cute that you’re this excited about winning

-Maybe he should let you win more often thAT WONT HAPPEN

The Family They Deserve Masterlist

Y/n sat in the chair, waiting for him to come out.

She could feel her heart pounding, the thought of seeing him, making her happier than she should’ve been.

Then again, of course she’d be giddy.

Who wouldn’t be right now?

“Come on! It doesn’t take this long to get dressed!”

Y/n heard the deep chuckling coming from in the dressing room.

“That why it takes you almost an hour to get ready?”

She rolled her eyes, even if he couldn’t see her.

But he did have a point.

Ever since they’d began actually going out into the town and not just staying cooped up in the cabin, John had been taking her on a lot of dates.

They’d found real friends that weren’t monsters, who were totally willing to take care of the boys.

Of course, sometimes that wouldn’t work and they’d both end up coming along on their dates.

But she didn’t care.

Y/n loved all of her boys.
